• Boundaries:
• Anteriorly posterior border of the
Sternocleidomastoid
• Posteriorly anterior border of trapezius
• Apex is the meeting point of
sternocleidomastoid and trapezius
• Base is the medial one third of the clavicle
• Roof is skin , superficial fascia and deep
fascia
• Floor is the prevartebral layer of deep
cervical
fascia

1. The most common location for atherosclerotic
plaque formation is at the bifurcation or
branch points of arteries, in the case of
the carotid arteries
2. bruit is a systolic murmur heard only in the
neck arteries
3. Tracheostomy a surgical procedure to create
an opening through the neck into the trachea
4. Carotid sinus syndrome
