This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. Penguin Facts
There are 17 species of penguins in the world
and 4 types of them are in Antarctica.
Breeding Season: December to March.
All antarctic,Emperor,Gentoo, and King
penguins.
3. Seal Facts
Although there are 35 species of seals, only six types live in Antarctica: Antarctic Fur Seals,
Crabeater Seals, Leopard Seals, Ross Seals, and Weddell Seals. However, these six species
make up the majority of the world's seal population. With no natural land predators, such as
polar bears or man, Antarctic seals behave much differently than northern seals--showing little
fear of man.
4. South Polar Skua Facts
South polar skuas are bulky broad winged sea birds those who breed on Antarctic coast. They
like to live in open sea areas, grow up to a size of 21 inches, found in greyish brown color.
5. Antarctica Killer Whale
Killer whales are toothed whales, found in all oceans including Arctic and Antarctic region. They
hunting for preys ranging from fishes, penguins, seals and even other whales. The length of killer
whales measured up to 9.5 meters and weighs between 10 to 11 tons.
6. Antarctica Plants
It seems an almost impossible feat for a plant to survive in Antarctica. Extremely cold
temperatures, little sunlight and moisture, poor soil quality, and a short growing period have
deterred most species of flora from successfully growing in this barren ecosystem. Despite
the odds, there are still plants that have evolved specifically to live in these conditions, and
have thrived where no others have dared to go. It may not be a bountiful garden of
polychromatic blossoms, but taking a closer look, a little bit closer to the ground, will provide
a glimpse into a very special and unique world of plant life.
7. Temperature
Antarctica´s world record for lowest
temperature was -89.2 on 21 of July 1983
and -93.2.
Antarctica´s regular temperautre is from 1 (hot)
to -200 about.
