Plant life is sparse but includes cacti and small shrubs that absorb and store water to survive long dry periods. Animal species like coyotes, foxes, and snakes are nocturnal to avoid the heat and include those adapted to the desert climate and scarce resources.

3. Plant and Animal LifePlants: The plant life is scarce but there are some plants including, ocotillo, saguaro cactus, ground hugging shrubs, and very short branchy trees. Animals: Almost all the animals in the desert are nocturnal, so they come out at night including, coyotes, foxes, peccaries, tarantulas, scorpions, ring tailed cats, antelopes, hawks, owls, quail, snakes, and lizards.

4. AdaptationsPlants: Absorb and store water inside of them so when theres no rain they can still surive. Also they are lightly colored so the don’t atract heat.
