Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android's user interface is mainly based on direct manipulation, using touch gestures that loosely correspond to real-world actions, such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects, along with a virtual keyboard for text input. In addition to touchscreen devices, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Android Wear for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on notebooks, game consoles, digital cameras, and other electronics.
Android has the largest installed base of all operating systems (OS) of any kind.Android has been the best selling OS on tablets since 2013, and on smartphones it is dominant by any metric.
Initially developed by Android, Inc., which Google bought in 2005,Android was unveiled in 2007 along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance – a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. As of July 2013, the Google Play store has had over one million Android applications ("apps") published – including many "business-class apps"that rival competing mobile platforms – and over 50 billion applications downloaded. An April–May 2013 survey of mobile application developers found that 71% of developers create applications for Android, and a 2015 survey found that 40% of full-time professional developers see Android as their priority target platform, which is comparable to Apple's iOS on 37% with both platforms far above others. In September 2015, Android had 1.4 billion monthly active devices.
Android's source code is released by Google under open source licenses, although most Android devices ultimately ship with a combination of open source and proprietary software, including proprietary software required for accessing Google services.Android is popular with technology companies that require a ready-made, low-cost and customizable operating system for high-tech devices. Its open nature has encouraged a large community of developers and enthusiasts to use the open-source code as a foundation for community-driven projects, which deliver updates to older devices, add new features for advanced users or bring Android to devices originally shipped with other operating systems. The success of Android has made it a target for patent (and copyright) litigation as part of the so-called "smartphone wars" between technology companies.
From the launch of its first version in 2008 till now, Android has evolved, improved and transformed a lot and with 85% marketshare, it is currently dominating the Smartphone market.

Internet of Things (IoT) - We Are at the Tip of An IcebergDr. Mazlan Abbas
You are likely benefitting from The Internet of Things (IoT) today, whether or not you’re familiar with the term. If your phone automatically connects to your car radio, or if you have a smartwatch counting your steps, congratulations! You have adopted one small piece of a very large IoT pie, even if you haven't adopted the name yet.
IoT may sound like a business buzzword, but in reality, it’s a real technological revolution that will impact everything we do. It's the next IT Tsunami of new possibility that is destined to change the face of technology, as we know it. IoT is the interconnectivity between things using wireless communication technology (each with their own unique identifiers) to connect objects, locations, animals, or people to the Internet, thus allowing for the direct transmission of and seamless sharing of data.
IoT represents a massive wave of technical innovation. Highly valuable companies will be built and new ecosystems will emerge from bridging the offline world with the online into one gigantic new network. Our limited understanding of the possibilities hinders our ability to see future applications for any new technology. Mainstream adoption of desktop computers and the Internet didn’t take hold until they became affordable and usable. When that occurred, fantastic and creative new innovation ensued. We are on the cusp of that tipping point with the Internet of Things.
IoT matters because it will create new industries, new companies, new jobs, and new economic growth. It will transform existing segments of our economy: retail, farming, industrial, logistics, cities, and the environment. It will turn your smartphone into the command center for the both digital and physical objects in your life. You will live and work smarter, not harder – and what we are seeing now is only the tip of the iceberg.
IOT is connecting every physical object in the world using wireless technologies to track and control them from every where in the world...Every object is uniquely identified using ip addresses(IPv6)

Android apps are huge market(over 80% of mobile devices worldwide run android), and it’s continuously growing.
If you are going to invest in an app development, then its important to choose a developer with great track record.

Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

4. HISTORY OF ANDROID
Android was found in October 2003 by
Andy Rubin, Rich miner, and Nick sears,
and Chris white helped to develop it
further.
5. What is Android
• It is a open source software platform and operating system for mobile devices
• Based on the Linux kernel
• Developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance (OHA)
• Android has its own virtual machine i.e. DVM(Dalvik Virtual Machine).
• Google purchased the initial developer of the software , android incorporated
in 2005.

introduces stock fingerprint scanner support for Android 6.0
security.
Produces “VISUAL VOICE MAIL”.
The portrait format has been changed from “PORTRAIT –
LANDSCAPE”.
Uses minimum “INTERNAL STORAGE”.
8. ANDROID ARCHITECTURE
The software stack is split into Four Layers::
The application layer
The application framework
The libraries and runtime
The kernel
9.
10. LINUX KERNEL
The architecture is based on the Linux2.6 kernel.
• This layer is core of android architecture. It provides service like power
management, memory management, security etc.
• It helps in software or hardware binding for better communication.
11. NATIVE LIBRARIES
•Android has its own libraries, which is written in C/C++. These
libraries cannot be accessed directly. With the help of
application framework, we can access these libraries. tc.
12. ANDROID RUN TIME
The Android Runtime was designed specifically for Android to
meet the needs of running in an embedded environment
• Dalvik is the process virtual machine in Google's android
operating system. It is the software that runs the apps on
android devices.
•Programs are commonly written in java and compiled to byte
code.
•This is in blue, meaning that it's written in the Java
programming language.
•The core library contains all of the collection classes, utilities,
IO, all the utilities and tools that you’ve come to expected to use.
13. APPLICATION FRAMEWORK
This is all written in a Java programming language and the application
framework is the toolkit that all applications use.
It includes applications written by Google, and it includes apps that will be
written by you
It is the most upper layer in android architecture.
All the applications like camera, Google maps, browser, sms, calendars, contacts
are native applications. These applications works with end user with the help of
application framework to operate.
16. ANDROID DESIGNING
• Android is designed having multi layer security which provides
flexibility for this platform. When attackers attempt attack on device,
android platform help to reduce the portability of the attack.
There are key components of android security which are described as
follows:
Design review
Code review and penetrating testing
Open source and community review
Incident response
