The Project I Chose For This Paper Is A Project Started
The project I chose for this paper is a project started by USAA in 2016. It was created out a need to
stay competitive and concern for its employees and members. The project arrived because there has
been a mass influx of member joining since 2009. This occurred when USAA opened up it eligibility
to all prior veteran and their family member. USAA Board of Director realized that it was in jeopardy
of losing key performance factor that has been a hallmark for the organization and were forced into
creating effective change. This influx of membership has put a major strain on USAA s claims
department, due to vast number of claims that were being generated daily. The volume of claim in
auto and property department had hit an all time high and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The road show was followed up by opening up a customer service comment line to hear feedback and
what members are saying. The comment lines where created as a two way conversation where
comment were addressed back to the member. Secondly it is a one time event set to ease the tension
and strain on the adjuster member relation. USAA has been in a comfortable 1st place in comparison
to it peers but now with the sudden rise of third party insurance companies the pressure has created the
need for a change in strategy. The customer employee relation team was very instrumental in it
deliveries. The roads show which was intended to produce and effective strategy to implement which
was very success and cause some very satisfying results. The deliverable that came for the initial
strategy phase cause the team the realization of not focusing on business but of the employee and the
customers. Return on income was not the focus because in this case that was not the problem. The
influx of customer was providing ROI but the need to focus on customer and employee relation where
best sought in this project. The CEO Steward Parker stated in a town hall meeting that it is more
important to send them on the right path that to try and make a profit. His statement was inspired by
the work of the project team. Their effort inspired the new motto of being

Papago Woman
Papago Woman, written by Ruth M. Underhill, is an ethnography of the life of a native american
woman named Maria Chona, a member of the Southern Arizona Papago people located right outside
of Tucson, Arizona on a reservation. Ruth lived among the Papago from 1931 till 1933. She studied
the life of the Papago with her main subject an older Papago woman named Chona. She says at one
point how she learned amongst these people and Chona, I feel, nevertheless, that out of all this flurry
there came the story as it had appeared in Chona s mind, (27). By hearing the life of this Papago
woman she learned about life as a Papago. To collect data about the Papago way of life and Chona,
Ruth Underhill asked many questions. She was very forward with ... Show more content on

realized that her persistent questioning had been seen as ignorant and embarrassing to Chona. The
women told Ruth about their job to bring the clouds to make rain. She soon discovered they would be

Femininity Depicted Throughout The Hebrew Bible
According to the late great mongolian marauder Genghis Khan The greatest happiness is to scatter
your enemy, to drive him before you,to see his cities reduced to ashes, to see those who love him
shrouded in tears, and to gather into your bosom his wives and daughters. Genghis Khan, much like the
Hebrew Bible during certain points, regards women as objects. However, to write the Hebrew Bible
off as fully misogynistic would not do the ancient texts justice. From Genesis to Judges 2, the Hebrew
Bible objectifies women, uses them as scapegoats, but during certain points rises them to the level of
highly admired Prophets and warriors. This essay attempts to explore the various undertones of
femininity depicted throughout the Hebrew Bible. The story of the Concubine of a Levite in Judges 19
20 may be one of the harshest examples of female objectification throughout the Bible. The story
takes place during a period without a monarch. It begins with the Levite Husband leaving his home to
fetch his concubine who fled to her father s home in Gibeah. This story showcases the brutal rape of a
nameless woman. The author of Judges 19 20 is a somewhat contested issue. Although rabbinic Sages
believed that the book was written by the prophet Samuel, modern biblical scholars note that the work
was not written by just one author. Many of these scholars believe that this was the work of
Deuteronomistic redactors. However the positive expectations from the monarchy, the lack of

Symptoms And Treatment Of Huntington s Disease
Huntington s Disease Huntington s disease is an inherited neurodegenerative disease that is caused by
a mutation on the HTT gene. It typically effects persons in their third to fifth decade of life and can be
passed onto their children. Neurons in the brain waste away or degenerate in different areas causing
the characterizing symptoms, such as dance like movements and mental decline. Diagnosis and
prognosis can be devastating to both individual and family. However, there are genetic tests that can
help to predict the probability of developing symptoms of the disease. There is no cure for this
debilitating disease; only symptom control and maximization of comfort can be prescribed until future
research finds a cure. This paper will review origins and symptoms, in addition to treatments and
future treatments.
Origins
Genetics The gene HTT is located on the short arm of chromosome 4 and is present in everyone;
however, it is the mutation of that gene that causes Huntington s disease. The mutation presents as an
error in the CAG repeat equal to additional repeats more than is normal. Normal genotypes have less
than 36 CAG repeats, anything above 36 results in an unstable gene (Scott, 2011). If a person has 36
to 39 repeats, he or she is genetically considered to have Huntington s, but may not develop the
symptoms of Huntington s; however, his or her offspring will definitely have a great probability of
developing symptoms (Scott, 2011). A person with 40 or more repeats

The Importance Of Health Care Coverage
The ACA, and its many mandates, was developed to address many needs the U.S has with health care
coverage. The primary goal of the ACA is to provide affordable, quality health care to the millions of
U.S. citizens who are going without coverage. However, the need exists for many reasons. When
analyzed, at least three primary reasons can be thought of as driving forces of the development. The
first is that the nation s focus on health care has shifted from that of one where health care is a private
matter where people make their own decisions, to one where health care is viewed as a necessary
entity that plays an integral part of our lives. Health care was not viewed as a national responsibility,
therefore there were no mandates for employers

The Bronx Zoo, And The Botanical Gardens
When one thinks of the Bronx, we think of Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, and the Botanical
Gardens. But ultimately, many neglect the Bronx as the poorest county, with the highest dropout rates,
and unemployment rates in the State of New York. I spent the last five years trying to fix some of
these issues, working especially with children from the ages of nine to seventeen with a nonprofit
organization called CBALL. We aim to empower young leaders and prevent children from falling
victim to the criminal culture that plague the Bronx. A direct correlation exists between the well being
of the residents in the Bronx and the crime rates. For example, seven out of the twenty New York City
neighborhoods with high violent crime rates come from the Bronx. As a future attorney, I would like
to attack this problem legally. Therefore, I actively swapped my ride along with Ben Cruz to intern
with the Bronx Defenders. Do to their stellar reputation; I was eager to see the Bronx Defender s
approach towards helping the borough. Also, my experience of that day impressed me and inspired me
to one day potentially work for the Bronx Defenders.
The Bronx Defenders impressed me with their holistic approach and resembled the work I do with
nonprofits. While at the Bronx Defenders office, I got a firsthand look at their overarching approach to
criminal defense and their tremendous dedication to their clients. I shadowed Robyn Mar, a criminal
defense attorney for the organization who represents

Helmet Safety Research Paper
Bike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. The safest way to use your bike is for transportation,
not play. Every year, about 300,000 kids go to the emergency department because of bike injuries, and
at least 10,000 kids have injuries that require a few days in the hospital. Some of these injuries are so
serious that children die, usually from head injuries. A head injury can mean brain injury. That s why it
s so important to wear your bike helmet. Wearing one doesn t mean you can be reckless, but a helmet
will provide some protection for your face, head, and brain in case you fall down. Bike helmets are so
important that the U.S. government has created safety standards for them. Your helmet should have a
sticker that says it meets standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). If your
helmet doesn t have a CPSC sticker, ask your mom or dad to get you one that does. Wear a bike

Laser printers are usually bigger than inkjet printers. A printer can print one sided or double sided.
Most small offices purchase an all in one inkjet printer which means that this printer can print from a
computer and can be used as a photocopier it is also able to scan documents and send fax through the
internet. Printers need to be connected to a computer or computer network either wirelessly or through
a cable to be able to print documents from one or more computers. Big company have often a range of
different printers and copiers available depending on what is needed by the staff: fast big quantity
printing or precise high quality picture and photo printing.
Scanners: They are used to convert a document or image into an electronic file that can be used and
stored on a computer, Sometime scanners are part of a printer but usually scanners that are the most
efficient are small scanners that can be attached to a computer through an USB cable they can scan
single sided or double sided documents very fast. They can scan in colour or in black and white.
Scanners are essential when a company needs to keep hard copy of their files in law firm in a medical

Cali Cartel vs. Tijuana Cartel
The drug trade is a very large and complex system. There are many different organizations involved at
different levels. There are groups that operate only in growing and selling the product, and only
groups that buy and distribute the drugs. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of
two of the largest growers and sellers in the drug trade: The Cali Cartel of Columbia and the Tijuana
Cartel of Mexico. The Cali Cartel is the largest, richest, and most complex producers and distributors
of cocaine. The cartel concentrates almost entirely in cocaine. Over time they have developed an
extremely large and sophisticated distribution system and have generated an extraordinary amount of
wealth. Because of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The regional director reports directly to one of the top drug lords, based in Colombia. This structure
has worked very well and it is because of the cartels complex system that they have been so
successful. However, these organizations would cease to exist if they didn t reside within the
governments that they do. The Cali Cartels operations are made much easy because of warring
paramilitary groups in Columbia. These groups protect the growers in their specific areas. If there
were to be peace in Columbia and the two groups agree to a ceasefire, the growers would then be
vulnerable to government intervention. In Mexico, the AFO thrives on the large number of corrupt
Mexican officials. The cartel makes it a very smart choice for a government official or law enforcer to
help them. Not only are they bribed, but they are also threatened with violence. Everyone in Mexico
knows from the history of this group that they mean business and any threat is very legitimate.
Because of the large amount of corruption in the Mexican government, the Tijuana cartel flourishes.
Both of these cartels are custom made for the area they are located in. If the systems were to switch
geographic locations, they would not be nearly as successful. Over the years, the groups have molded
to form the perfect fit for a drug cartel to operate in their specific area. As

Veterans Compensation For Veterans
With national security playing such sizeable a role today, it is important to ask questions about the
effects it has on the military personnel. Veterans go through a lot to protect, serve, and defend this
nation for a better tomorrow. But in response to their actions to benefit America, do American citizens
and our government do all to support our veterans. Are they appropriately being awarded
compensation as of loss, injury, and suffering? With the number of veterans growing are they
receiving recognition for all their efforts as an individual and a whole? The veteran population has
adapted through the ages, but there has always remained the solid respect and uttermost gratitude
towards them. Even though veterans are thought of very highly for their bravery, they are not
receiving adequate compensation and recognition.
The evolution of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has grown to accommodate and benefit
the new age of veterans. It dates back to the Revolutionary War where the Continental Congress
agreed to provide pensions for disabled soldiers. This was in an effort to raise support for the Patriots
side during the war. In the Civil War Era Nation s Homes were designed to aid injured soldiers. The
First Nations home located in southern Maine, admitted any Union soldier that needed medical
attention. Approximately thirty years latter marked the climax of the Nation s homes, for vets with a
total of eleven facilities nationwide ( About VA ). These programs were

equality in means of: political, economical, and social equality. Two similar movements emerged
during this era that shared the same ideologies: the Chicano and the Black Power Movement. Both
shared a similar ideology that outlined their movement, which was the call for self determination. The
similar experiences that they had undergone such as the maltreatment and the abuse of power that
enacted was enacted by the dominant Anglo race helped to shape these ideologies. Despite their
similar ideology, they differed in how they achieved this goal, by either obtaining political

Jim Crow laws made segregation legal in the Deep South, thus enforcing the superiority of whites and
the privileges given to them, such as cleaner and better facilities that accommodated them. It was a
reaction to the government s failure to deliver the promises they made. Chicanos and African
American alike had the dignity to not depend on the states to give them their rights, but they were
willing to give themselves their own rights, pushing for Chicano and Black Nationalism.
The growing racism and discrimination that both races experienced helped to mold their similar
ideologies as both sought for the end of these negative acts. For example, most people connect
lynching to African Americans during this movement, but what is left unsaid is that Mexican
Americans were also lynched as well. In the Deep South a group that was prominently known for
lynching in the south was the Ku Klux Klan. The western south states that bordered Mexico also had
terrorizing groups whose lynching was targeted towards Mexican Americans rather than African
Americans: the Ku Klux Klan and the Texas Rangers. These groups continuously assaulted minority
groups as they saw them as inferior and a threat to the American culture. What angered the Chicanos
and the African Americans most was not that their people were continuously being assaulted, but
because these groups got away with it. The government failed to see these acts as a crime. In most

Essay about Campbell Soup Company Audit
Campbell Soup Company
Background
Campbell was founded shortly before the start of the Civil War. Abraham Anderson and Joseph
Campbell began manufacturing canned vegetables and fruit preserves. In 1976, Campbell bought out
Anderson s interest and renamed the firm the Joseph Campbell Preserving Company. Later, Arthur
Dorrance was Campbell s new partner. In the early 1920s, John Dorrance, Arthur Dorrance s nephew,
was the sole owner of the Campbell Soup Company, which was the largest producer of canned soup
products. Unfortunately, as the twentieth century was coming to a close, the nation s appetite for

Trade Loading
Campbell offered sizable trade discounts near the end of accounting period to entice customers to
make product purchases that they would otherwise defer. By this way, a company can use price
concessions to prop up its reported revenues and profits. Plaintiffs pointed out that PwC auditors were
aware of the excessive trade loading by their client and this should have been a red flag for PwC to
investigate the possibility that their client was fraudulently misrepresenting its operating results. The
judge agree with the plaintiffs that PwC s workpapers revealed the firm was aware of Campbell s
disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods. However, the he disagreed with
the assertion that PwC should have considered those heavy sales a red flag. Instead, he pointed out
that PwC s workpapers referred to the large, period ending sales as a traditional trend in Campbell s
operating results.
This traditional trend may apply to Campbell s business environment, but may not to other industry.
An auditor had better understand the industry environment he or she involves in to judge whether
disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods are normal or not.

Examples Of Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
Plato is widely considered one of the most influential figures in the development process of western
philosophy, and societies throughout the world. Examples of his influence and ideas can be found in
works like On Shadows and Realities in Education , in his book The Republic. Within the text, Plato
challenges society to ponder the concept of reality and how individuals perceive it. Even today
scholars and philosophers are questioning reality in the same way Plato did thousands of years ago
and are applying those ideas in modern society. Although it might not seem that a modern film and an
ancient story could shed light on one another, a look at the Director Peter Weir s film, The Truman
Show, in terms of Plato s allegory of the cave shows that elements of his allegory such as the cave, the

Dick stated in his 1978 speech, How to Build a Universe That Doesn t Fall Apart Two Days Later ,
that reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn t go away . No one really knows if they

truth. Through the evidence presented in this essay, The Truman Show proves that elements of Plato s

modern society through film. In a form of its own, The Truman Show uses the unique approach of
following a man s life within a T.V. show to question the depiction of reality and expand upon Plato s
allegory. The film offers an important life lesson regarding free will, since Truman s choices seemed
to always be made for him. Similar to the prisoner leaving the cave, Truman climbs the stairs to exit

Children Should Be Playing Video Games For Learning
Design
CRITERION A:
In early years at school young students sometimes find basic concepts hard to grasp, difficult to master
and a challenge to recall. Young children are also very keen on playing games. Can we use this
enthusiasm to help them master the basic concepts which they will need for their future education?
Throughout the world technology is advancing. Creating games which involve education would speed
up the process of learning and make it easier for kids to solve questions faster. Personally I believe
that kids should be playing video games for learning. It would speed up the process because people
are online globally 24 hours a day.
My seven reasons that computer games would be good for learning are... 1. It would speed up the
process of learning because people are online globally 24 hours a day.
2. Technology is advancing
3. Kids enjoy being on technology and playing on games
4. Everyone has technology
5. Different types of learners
6. Kids wont have to worry about forgetting their books its will be on all technology forever
7. It Makes kids want to learn and be more motivated.
Let s go a little more into depth...
Computer games would be good for learning because it would speed up the process of learning.
Throughout the world people are online globally 24 hours a day and at no point is there when nobody
is online. Technology is not slowing down in fact it is advancing at an unimaginable pace.

International Response To The Rwandan Genocide In The 20th...
Rwandan Genocide
Throughout the 20th century, numerous acts of genocides have attempted to bring the complete
elimination and devastation of large groups of people originating from various particular ethnicities.
With these genocides occurring in many regions of the world, the perpetrators often organizing such
crimes, have historically been larger and more powerful than the victims themselves. Often being the
government and its military forces. However, the lack of international response associated with these
genocides, further contributed to the devastating outcomes. On April 6,1994, the fastest killing spree
of the century took place in Rwanda against the Tutsi minority population. With many warning signs
having already been proclaimed prior to the start of the Rwandan genocide, I believe that with
international interference, this bloodshed could have ultimately been prevented.
Rwanda is a country located in Central Eastern Africa, with an extensive history of colonization, after
Belgium attained control in 1924. Belgium s rule however also marked the beginning of a lengthy
ethnic rivalry between the Hutu and the Tutsi people. Belgium favored the Tutsi the minority at 14
percent of the population over the Hutu, the majority at 85 percent, simply because the Tutsis were
more resembling of the Europeans. Colonial policy helped to intensify bipolar differentiation between
Tutsi and Hutu, by inscribing ethnic identification on identity cards, by relegating the vast majority of
Hutu to particularly onerous forms of forced cultivation and corvee, and by actively favoring Tutsi in
access to administrative posts, education, and jobs in the modern sector, (Newbury, 12). Belgium s
control fueled the Hutu s resentment towards the Tutsis because the Tutsis received superior treatment
for decades. Thus, when Rwanda finally acquired independence in 1962, the Hutus fought for control
over the government, highlighting the first warning sign of the genocide to come. Many Tutsis were
killed afterwards, while many others fled to neighboring countries to escape the violence.
The second warning sign appeared, in the spring of 1992, [when] the Belgian ambassador in Kigali,

The American Education System Education
American Education System
Education plays important role in society. It determines the final development of an adult s
personality. In today s society most jobs require a University degree. To receive a University degree
students need to rely on a good education system. Does America provide this? The American
education system has relied on the grade point average system for a long time. The problem with this
is there is not a universal GPA grade point system varying from course to course. This creates an
inaccurate way to determine ones overall achievements. Teachers have different standards than others,
grade inflation can occur and students can be exposed to different learning environments. Does the
education system need to change to create fairness?
The American education system has not changed drastically since the 1900s. In the early 1900 s before
grading, teachers were expected to communicate in depth to their students on how they were doing in
the class. This worked well for small groups and individual tutoring. The ability for this information to
be passed on to those who were not involved with the learning process, such as employers and parents
was limited. By the mid 20th century schools changed drastically as they introduced grades in the
form of letters. The American schools now became more standardized as A, B, C, D and F represented
ones grade. Depending what percentage a student received determined letter they got. An example is
an A is a mark of 90 100%

Antigone Tragic Hero Essay
According to Aristotle, the main idea of a tragic hero is a person who brings about feelings of pity or
of fear for their situation in an audience (Hogue, Tragic Hero). The character will cause a series of
events that will lead to their tragic downfall, which is normally their death. In the case of The Oedipus
Plays of Sophocles, the story of Antigone evokes the most pity from the audience. At the beginning of
her story, she realizes that she is breaking a law set by Creon, but that doesn t sway her decision. She
will honor the death of her brother even if it causes her own; she is extremely loyal to her family, and
also too stubborn to allow the threat of death that hangs above her head to change her mind. Antigone

brothers met. However, the fate that Antigone suffered was just as tragic as the rest of the house of
Oedipus if no more so. She, like her mother, hanged herself, but she died trying to show her deceased
brother some respect. While the reasons for Jocasta s death were that of shame and guilt, Antigone s
death showed loyalty and bravery. Her father took away a gift that the gods gave him, and her brothers

Sagging Pants Is Deviant Behavior Essay
A deviant behavior is a label attached to a person s activity that is conducted in a manner outside the
normalized zone of conformity within a society. There is the perception of how people view or
understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it
may also be viewed as immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover,
deviant behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal.
Although this may be true, there is still the circle of cultural beliefs and upbringings among certain
groups of people that may not actually consider an act deviant or illegal. People in a community have

On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is part of a person s
identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be considered deviant? Feldman(1984)
indicates, norms are enforced to show people what type of behaviors are accepted within a members
of society. Furthermore, this raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against
women wearing revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members of
a society view such acts which are not criminalistic.
I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college freshmen because
they are just getting out of high school and may still be more involved in the trendy urban fashion
statements. Next, in regards to sagging being used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that
they would tend to use less of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level.
In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical doctors because of

Essay on Car Technology of European and American Cars
The world of technology is ever changing and advancing. With the automotive industry in play
technology is constantly surpassing what is available today with what can be done for tomorrow.
Technology and the automotive industry go hand in hand with constant improvement to components
of cars. Due to technology advancement there is competition within the car industry, especially
between American car companies and European car companies. European car companies provide their
buyers with innovative variety and revolutionary luxuries. European car technology is superior to
American car technology due to their safety, entertainment, and luxury features. Technologies in
European cars provide safety features which surpass these in American cars. ... Show more content on

This exclusive system adds safety to European cars such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Audi. This
Active Braking feature is one of the many components which make European cars superior to
American cars. Blind spot detection is also a feature that is exclusive to the European automotive
engineering brands. Compared to American car companies, European cars come standard with this
option, while in American cars this feature is not always an option and is an added feature that must be
requested. This is an important feature which provides guaranteed safety to drivers all over the world.
It can assist drivers with parking and notifies them of unseen cars and objects which may cause
accidents. When outboard mirrors and a clear view out the rear window fail to provide the full picture
necessary for passing and merging, blind spot monitors are the next best thing. Using sensors or lenses
to detect the presence of other vehicles directly to the car s sides, visual and/or auditory warnings clue
the driver in, in the hope of avoiding a crash. Unlike active safety monitoring systems that prevent
vehicle action that violates the warning, most blind spot detection systems are helpful suggestions to
drivers, and can be overridden (http://www.nydailynews.com/autos/7 car safety features knew needed

Analysis Of Arable Of The Sower
arable of the Sower follows teenage Lauren Olamina, who lives with her family inside a walled
community. When the community within the wall is forced into the outside world, Lauren tries to
unite them under her vision of Earthseed. Parable demonstrates how walls form artificial divides
through essentially similar humans. The opera s story of a walled community parallels the many walls
in our present world, and the depiction of the wall on stage throughout the play changes as the
relationship the characters have with it changes.
Throughout the first act, the Lauren s father and the others in her community emphasize the safety
within their wall. Outside the wall, they remind her, are dangerous people who are unlike them. In our
present day world, walled communities exist for the same purpose of a secure community that Parable
describes. One such example is the Alphaville compounds in Brazil, where the rich can wall
themselves off from the poor. Unlike Alphaville, people who reside outside the wall in Parable are not
even allowed in as day laborers. However, those living inside have the privileged freedom of entering
and exiting the walled community as they like. In our current era, walls, says Jones, are meant for
preventing the movement of undesired peoples from ungoverned spaces. Parable presents the outside
of the wall as near chaos and lacking the morality of inside the wall. In line with the logic of Jones, the
wall separates those who purportedly lack the morals to be governable apart from those who live in
reason.
The set in the first act of Parable of the Sower is a halo like arc of fabric, suspended above the stage.
The characters sit inside the space underneath this arc, and through their actions and words frame the
area beyond the stage as existing outside their wall. They emphasize their difference from the the
people existing outside the wall, often gesturing or looking to the audience as outsiders. These
othering narratives that dehumanize the outsiders by emphasizing their negative characteristics are
critical to the justification of walling practices. To the community existing within the wall, the wall is
a positive structure, shielding them from the events (and people) outside. When

Case Study The Atlantic Division
A Divisional Previews The Atlantic Division 1. Boston Celtics With the big offseason acquisition of
Al Horford, the Celtics are hoping to change their recent playoff history; the last two seasons have
been two one and done, getting swept by the Cavaliers and losing to the Hawks in six respectively. A
big hole that the previous two Celtics team had was at the center position. Night in and night out, the
center position was among the worst in terms of production. With Al Horford now on the roster that
hole is presumably filled. No longer will Celtics fans have to rely on the often out of shape Jared
Sullinger to bang down low against the much bigger, more athletic big men that opposing team s
possess. The presence of Horford also clarifies Kelly Olynyk s role with the team Prior to Horford s
arrival, Olynyk was in and out of the starting lineup, often splitting time with Sulliger. Being in a clear
cut role as the second unit center will only help Olynyk develop as a player. ... Show more content on

who is the definitive second unit point guard. With Terry Rosier, Marcus Smart, Demetrius Jackson on

The Effects Of Population Control And Population Control
Pain comes on a spectrum. Pain can be a piercing pain, like a needle piercing the skin. Pain can be
throbbing waves of delirium that come from getting hit in the head. Pain can be an internal stimulus
that inhibits thoughts of bliss. Hunger is the pain or uneasy sensation caused by the want of food, and
affects a large amount of people worldwide. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization
estimates about 795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world suffer from chronic
malnourishment in a 2014 2016 study (worldhunger.org, 2016). The ability for humans to grow
exponentially on a limited amount of land is dangerous, for eventually the amount of resources
available will not be succinct enough to allow everyone to live. This leads to the question on whether
population control should be enacted to prevent such an event. But with the world s population
projected to reach 10.1 billion people by the year 2100, it is evident that some change must occur.
(Becker, 2011). Actions have been taken by the biochemical community to better understand human
nutritional needs and revolutionized how crops are grown. In order to sustain a large population,
measures must be taken to improve crop efficiency with the limited amount of land we have. The
recent development of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have allowed for unstable
combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and viral genes that do not normally occur in
nature(livingnongmo.org). These GMOs allow a

The Passionate Shepherd To His Love By Christopher Marlowe...
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe and The Nymph s Reply to the
Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh are two of numerous, prominent poems in the late sixteenth century.
Both were written between 1590 and 1600, however, the exact years for each are somewhat
ambiguous. Raleigh s The Passionate Shepherd . . . is classified as a pastoral poem due to its depiction
of a natural setting and is also considered to be perhaps the most famous of all English pastoral works.
Likewise, it is a carpe diem poem given its advocation to seize the day and to live life to the fullest
extent which often implied care free, sexual behaviors. Conversely, there exists many sequels to it, the
most relevant being Marlowe s The Nymph s Reply . . . Marlowe s speaker claims that the recipient
should live with him so that they may pursue a variety of romantic activities. However, Raleigh s
speaker is significantly less optimistic and states that nothing is eternal, all shall succumb to aging,
and that they would only live with him if life had no boundaries of time. Furthermore, Marlowe s
poem is a quintessential carpe diem poem given how the speaker attempts to portray the extravagant
and romantic lifestyle that could be provided for the recipient. Similarly, the first and last lines of the
second stanza state, respectively, And we will sit upon the rocks . . . Melodious birds sing madrigals.
This evokes vivid imagery due to the audio and visual cues painted by the

Symptoms And Treatment Of Retinoblastoma
Cancer comes in many forms and can attack just about anyone. Some cancers take more time to grow,
spread and show signs of attack, but it is very important for everyone to be very careful and cautious
because anyone can be a victim for this cruel cancer. Retinoblastoma is one of the cancers that can
become very fatal to someone s vision if not treated. Retinoblastoma is caused when the cancer cells
start to grow with no control. Cells can become cancer cells in any part of the body so it is very
essential for it to be treated as soon as possible. It can also extend to any other parts of the body.
Retinoblastoma is started in the retina of the eye and is most common in children.
The very first thing anyone should do when they are diagnosed with cancer is to consult with their
doctor about treatment plans. Retinoblastoma has many treatment options for the patient. One of the
main treatments of retinoblastoma is surgery. If the retinoblastoma is detected while it is a small
tumor, surgery is not necessary. If the tumor is not found in time and is quite large, the eye s vision has
most likely been already damaged. If this is ever the case, then there is a procedure called,
enucleation, and this procedure removes the whole eye and a part of the optic nerve that was
connected. Meanwhile, during the enucleation procedure, an orbital implant is put in, taking the place
of the eye. The orbital implant contains contents such as, silicone or hydroxyapatite. This substance is
very alike

Sheep Are An Important Part Of The Global Agricultural...
Sheep are an important part of the global agricultural economy. Domestic sheep provide a wide array
of raw materials. Wool is one of the first textiles, although in the late 20th century wool prices began
to fall as the result of the popularity and cheap prices for synthetic fabrics . Sheep meat and milk are
the earliest staple proteins consumed by human civilization after the transition from hunting and
gathering to agriculture. Byproducts from the slaughter of sheep are also of value; sheep tallow can be
used in candle and soap making , while sheep bone and cartilage has been used to furnish carved items
such as dice and buttons .
Parasitic nematodes cause diseases of major economic importance in sheep .The lungworm ,
Dictyocaulus filaria , represents one of these nematodes inhabits bronchi and bronchioles and cause
parasitic bronchitis (commonly known as husk) particularly in young sheep ( Holzhauer et al., 2011).
Dictyocaulus filaria has a direct life cycle, embryonated eggs are coughed up or swallowed and hatch
in the small intestine then first stage larvae are passed in faeces. Under favorable environmental
conditions, first stage larvae moult to second stage larvae and then infective en sheathed third stage

Symbolism In Thoreau s Walden
As a background, Thoreau had lived alone in the woods by Walden Pond for two years and two
months, in Concord, Massachusetts. A lot of people had asked him how his daily life was when he was
there, and this book, Walden, is an attempt to answer that question. In his writing, he uses the first
person view which he states that he knows his self best and aims to give a what he call a simple and
sincere account of his own life. When Thoreau removed himself from society and chose solitude at
Walden Pond and wrote this book is a proof of which he can communicate his ideas well to the
readers.
In his book, Thoreau sets out his own beliefs about nature of human existence and society where he
stated that he believes that men does not need to work hard as they do if and only if they are willing to
simplify and also by following their instincts. He introduced the concept of voluntary poverty for
himself where primary necessities were identified. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

along these lines not acknowledging or even recognizing its hallowed beauty. In contrast, Thoreau
accepts he can find out about himself by investigating the lake. For Thoreau, John Field is a man who
has a place with society and is reluctant to go for the way of life that would free him from the
imperatives that make him troubled and trap him in an existence of obligation and abundance. Thoreau

John Milton s Epic Poem about Satan, Paradise Lost
John milton is one of the most influential men in english writing today because of his outstanding
work. He was an outstanding poet, who wrote poems that were outside the box. A great example
would be one of his most famous pieces Paridise lost, written in blank verse. In paridise lost Milton
concerns the biblical story of the fall of man by using Adam and Eve as the prime example. As
Paridise lost goes on you can definetly start to notice that he puts one specific character ahead of all
others and thats Satan. I believe miltons hero is Satan because of the way he talks about Satan in the
epic poem. When the epic poem is read it sounds as if Milton ecourges the behavior of Satan.
I Believe Milton considers Satan to be the hero, or protagonist, of the story, because he struggles to
overcome his own doubts and weaknesses and accomplishes his goal of corrupting humankind. Satan
is a very complex character in the epic poem. I belive Milton considers Satan as his hero because he
want Satan to seem heroic and appealing early in the poem to draw us into sympathizing with him
against our will, so that we may see how seductive evil is and learn to be more vigilant in resisting its
appeal. Milton devotes much of the poem s early books to developing Satan s character. Satan s
character changes significantly from Book I to his final appearance in Book X. In Book I he is a
strong, imposing figure with great abilities as a leader and public statesmen, whereas by the poem s
end he

Code Talkers And Code Talkers
Throughout history, different people are treated with isolation and discrimination. This is shown in our
culture through songs, movies, television shows, and other forms of art in every corner of the world.
For example, the movie and song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer parallels the oppression of
minorities, specifically with the Code Talkers, in the novel, Code Talkers, by Chester Nez, during
World War II. Since before the beginning of United States history, the people of the United States have
oppressed and repressed the Native Americans that have lived on this land long before them. The lyric,

And for the Code Talkers, years and years later, when they could finally discuss the code, Senator Jeff
Bingaman . . . proposed the Honoring the Navajo Code Talkers Act . . . the act called for recognition
for the code talkers (Nez 256). Both saved the day and both oppressor groups were largely grateful for
their sacrifices and for their differences that made it possible. Also, their differences from the rest of
the world were not only unique, but were hard or impossible to obtain. Rudolph the Red Nosed
Reindeer s talent was obviously that he, had a very shiny nose (Autry 6). This is difficult to obtain
because he was born with it, it was not earned by him and it seems that this phenomenon has never
happened before in the North Pole reindeer world. Likewise, pronunciation of even one Navajo word
is nearly impossible for someone not used to hearing the sounds (Nez 91). This talent can be obtained,
but is seemingly impossible to be learned later in life, as the language was so complex it could be
learned only is one began in infancy (Nez 91). That being said, this talent was in high demand because
of the very small percentage of people who could speak Navajo in the United States and the US
Government could not simply take shortcuts in learning the language because they would need to
grow a colony of Navajo speaking children over the span of about eighteen years. Which, was time no
one had.

Stereotypes In Watership Down By Richard Adams
(Interesting title at work) (Attention grabbing quote at work). Watership Down by Richard Adams is a
timeless tale told from multiple perspectives within a group of rabbits venturing into the unknown in
hopes of finding a new home. With great leadership and an unique ability shared between a pair of
brothers, the band of rabbits come upon new lands to call home. Hazel, brother of Fiver and leader of
the herd of rabbits, goes through many different personal changes as a rabbit, from being a clueless
individual momentarily leading the bunch, to having a taste of success and falling arrogant in hopes of
impressing the others, and then finally knowing his place and being a trusted and respected leader as
Chief Rabbit. The first trait of Hazel shown in the early stages of the plot is his cluelessness. In the
very opening scene, Fiver alerts Hazel in a panic that a great danger is to come over the Sandleford
Warren. Without any evidence or proof, except for the minor fact that Fiver s past predictions have
been found truthful, Hazel goes to The Threarah with Fiver to inform him of this impending threat.

China_A brief introduction: China, a socialist country in East Asia, is the world s most crowded

Twelfth Night Essay
When two people are in a romantic relationship, marriage is usually the ultimate goal. Marriage is
precious, formal and sacred. In the play, Twelfth Night, three marriages are depicted. One of the
marriages has happened because of a mistake and the other given as a reward. Which means that one
marriage will be more long lasting than the other. In my opinion, Viola and Orsino s marriage is going
to be the most successful because of their love and commitment to each other, the length of time they
have known each other and finally the trust between them. Firstly, love and commitment is one of the
many factors that contribute to a successful marriage. Love and commitment allow couples to act with
integrity, respect and care for each other. The readers can clearly see the commitment Viola has for
Duke Orsino when she says, After him I love/More than I love these eyes, more than my life,/More,
by all mores, than e er I shall love wife (V. i. 130 132). This proves that Viola ... Show more content

Love is built on trust therefore we can only love someone we trust. In the play, we can immediately

my secret soul;... (I. iv. 12 14). This demonstrates Orsino s evident trust for Viola. He is able to share
all of his secrets with Viola only after three days of knowing each other. Couples can only express
their feelings freely to each other, feel secure and safe when they trust each other. Therefore, the trust
Viola and Orsino has for each other is a vital asset they have that will make them different from the
other two couples and it is this that will make them the most successful marriage in the play. Without

Fear, Guilt, and Regret in Macbeth by William Shakespeare
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth the reader watches as Macbeth changes gradually as the play
endures. He are transforms from a loyal person with a loving and loyal disposition with other people,
into a tyrants who are willing to kill in order to keep himself on the throne. He is tormented with fear,
regret, and guilt. When someone does something they know is wrong it causes them to fall prey to
their own emotions. After Duncan s death you are able to see how the characters involved in the
murder almost instantly experience feelings of regret. There is a scene where Macbeth is in shock so
greatly after murdering Duncan, that he forgets to leave the murder weapon behind. When confronted
by Lady Macbeth(who says he needs to go return the weapons) he says, I ll go no more: / I am afraid
to think what I have done; / Look on t again I dare not ( 2.2 53 55). This allows us to see how Macbeth
is pained by what he has done. Macbeth also says he heard a voice say Glamis hath murdered sleep,
and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more. Macbeth shall sleep no more. ( 2.2 46 48). When Macbeth
says this he is saying that he has not only murdered Duncan, but he has murdered sleep. He is saying
he won t be able to sleep after what he has just done because he will regret it forever and it will haunt
him. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are interrupted by knocking on the door and as Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth walk away he says, Wake Duncan with thy knocking; I would though couldst. ( 2.2 78 79).

  • 2. The Project I Chose For This Paper Is A Project Started The project I chose for this paper is a project started by USAA in 2016. It was created out a need to stay competitive and concern for its employees and members. The project arrived because there has been a mass influx of member joining since 2009. This occurred when USAA opened up it eligibility to all prior veteran and their family member. USAA Board of Director realized that it was in jeopardy of losing key performance factor that has been a hallmark for the organization and were forced into creating effective change. This influx of membership has put a major strain on USAA s claims department, due to vast number of claims that were being generated daily. The volume of claim in auto and property department had hit an all time high and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The road show was followed up by opening up a customer service comment line to hear feedback and what members are saying. The comment lines where created as a two way conversation where comment were addressed back to the member. Secondly it is a one time event set to ease the tension and strain on the adjuster member relation. USAA has been in a comfortable 1st place in comparison to it peers but now with the sudden rise of third party insurance companies the pressure has created the need for a change in strategy. The customer employee relation team was very instrumental in it deliveries. The roads show which was intended to produce and effective strategy to implement which was very success and cause some very satisfying results. The deliverable that came for the initial strategy phase cause the team the realization of not focusing on business but of the employee and the customers. Return on income was not the focus because in this case that was not the problem. The influx of customer was providing ROI but the need to focus on customer and employee relation where best sought in this project. • 3. Papago Woman Papago Woman, written by Ruth M. Underhill, is an ethnography of the life of a native american woman named Maria Chona, a member of the Southern Arizona Papago people located right outside of Tucson, Arizona on a reservation. Ruth lived among the Papago from 1931 till 1933. She studied the life of the Papago with her main subject an older Papago woman named Chona. She says at one point how she learned amongst these people and Chona, I feel, nevertheless, that out of all this flurry there came the story as it had appeared in Chona s mind, (27). By hearing the life of this Papago woman she learned about life as a Papago. To collect data about the Papago way of life and Chona, Ruth Underhill asked many questions. She was very forward with ... The youngest son of Lilliat was told to Shut the door, and was not praised but instead allowed to sit on the men s side of the table. As dinner went on Ruth observed more and more of the Papago customs. Strangers were studied very carefully to see their true selves. Bedtime was early and the bed was on the ground. Early rising is custom of Papago because, Papagos had learned how to deal with the sun and did not hate or fear it. Those who slept past the dawn light were set down as hopeless drones, (Underhill 14). The day begin when men went to fill the water tanks. The water was shared and not thrown out with the guest being the first to use it. Women set to work with the meals for the day and basket making. Later that day, a girl named Vela who could speak a little bit of english visited. She promised to help Ruth with translations. Ruth realized that her persistent questioning had been seen as ignorant and embarrassing to Chona. The women told Ruth about their job to bring the clouds to make rain. She soon discovered they would be taking a trip to gather cactus fruit to prepare wine for the rain festival. They rode to the sahuaro cactus to gather the pear ish fruit. Ruth again learned about Coyote and I itoi. When I itoi was furnishing the earth, he thought he would put sahuaro all over. Then everyone could have fruit without too much walking. • 4. Femininity Depicted Throughout The Hebrew Bible According to the late great mongolian marauder Genghis Khan The greatest happiness is to scatter your enemy, to drive him before you,to see his cities reduced to ashes, to see those who love him shrouded in tears, and to gather into your bosom his wives and daughters. Genghis Khan, much like the Hebrew Bible during certain points, regards women as objects. However, to write the Hebrew Bible off as fully misogynistic would not do the ancient texts justice. From Genesis to Judges 2, the Hebrew Bible objectifies women, uses them as scapegoats, but during certain points rises them to the level of highly admired Prophets and warriors. This essay attempts to explore the various undertones of femininity depicted throughout the Hebrew Bible. The story of the Concubine of a Levite in Judges 19 20 may be one of the harshest examples of female objectification throughout the Bible. The story takes place during a period without a monarch. It begins with the Levite Husband leaving his home to fetch his concubine who fled to her father s home in Gibeah. This story showcases the brutal rape of a nameless woman. The author of Judges 19 20 is a somewhat contested issue. Although rabbinic Sages believed that the book was written by the prophet Samuel, modern biblical scholars note that the work was not written by just one author. Many of these scholars believe that this was the work of Deuteronomistic redactors. However the positive expectations from the monarchy, the lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Symptoms And Treatment Of Huntington s Disease Huntington s Disease Huntington s disease is an inherited neurodegenerative disease that is caused by a mutation on the HTT gene. It typically effects persons in their third to fifth decade of life and can be passed onto their children. Neurons in the brain waste away or degenerate in different areas causing the characterizing symptoms, such as dance like movements and mental decline. Diagnosis and prognosis can be devastating to both individual and family. However, there are genetic tests that can help to predict the probability of developing symptoms of the disease. There is no cure for this debilitating disease; only symptom control and maximization of comfort can be prescribed until future research finds a cure. This paper will review origins and symptoms, in addition to treatments and future treatments. Origins Genetics The gene HTT is located on the short arm of chromosome 4 and is present in everyone; however, it is the mutation of that gene that causes Huntington s disease. The mutation presents as an error in the CAG repeat equal to additional repeats more than is normal. Normal genotypes have less than 36 CAG repeats, anything above 36 results in an unstable gene (Scott, 2011). If a person has 36 to 39 repeats, he or she is genetically considered to have Huntington s, but may not develop the symptoms of Huntington s; however, his or her offspring will definitely have a great probability of developing symptoms (Scott, 2011). A person with 40 or more repeats ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Importance Of Health Care Coverage The ACA, and its many mandates, was developed to address many needs the U.S has with health care coverage. The primary goal of the ACA is to provide affordable, quality health care to the millions of U.S. citizens who are going without coverage. However, the need exists for many reasons. When analyzed, at least three primary reasons can be thought of as driving forces of the development. The first is that the nation s focus on health care has shifted from that of one where health care is a private matter where people make their own decisions, to one where health care is viewed as a necessary entity that plays an integral part of our lives. Health care was not viewed as a national responsibility, therefore there were no mandates for employers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Bronx Zoo, And The Botanical Gardens When one thinks of the Bronx, we think of Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, and the Botanical Gardens. But ultimately, many neglect the Bronx as the poorest county, with the highest dropout rates, and unemployment rates in the State of New York. I spent the last five years trying to fix some of these issues, working especially with children from the ages of nine to seventeen with a nonprofit organization called CBALL. We aim to empower young leaders and prevent children from falling victim to the criminal culture that plague the Bronx. A direct correlation exists between the well being of the residents in the Bronx and the crime rates. For example, seven out of the twenty New York City neighborhoods with high violent crime rates come from the Bronx. As a future attorney, I would like to attack this problem legally. Therefore, I actively swapped my ride along with Ben Cruz to intern with the Bronx Defenders. Do to their stellar reputation; I was eager to see the Bronx Defender s approach towards helping the borough. Also, my experience of that day impressed me and inspired me to one day potentially work for the Bronx Defenders. The Bronx Defenders impressed me with their holistic approach and resembled the work I do with nonprofits. While at the Bronx Defenders office, I got a firsthand look at their overarching approach to criminal defense and their tremendous dedication to their clients. I shadowed Robyn Mar, a criminal defense attorney for the organization who represents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Helmet Safety Research Paper Bike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. The safest way to use your bike is for transportation, not play. Every year, about 300,000 kids go to the emergency department because of bike injuries, and at least 10,000 kids have injuries that require a few days in the hospital. Some of these injuries are so serious that children die, usually from head injuries. A head injury can mean brain injury. That s why it s so important to wear your bike helmet. Wearing one doesn t mean you can be reckless, but a helmet will provide some protection for your face, head, and brain in case you fall down. Bike helmets are so important that the U.S. government has created safety standards for them. Your helmet should have a sticker that says it meets standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). If your helmet doesn t have a CPSC sticker, ask your mom or dad to get you one that does. Wear a bike helmet EVERY TIME YOU RIDE, even if you are going for a short ride. ... The straps should always be fastened. If the straps are flying, it s likely to fall off your head when you need it most. Make sure the straps are adjusted so they re snug enough that you can t pull or twist the helmet around on your head. Take care of your bike helmet and don t throw it around. There are groups that operate only in growing and selling the product, and only groups that buy and distribute the drugs. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of two of the largest growers and sellers in the drug trade: The Cali Cartel of Columbia and the Tijuana Cartel of Mexico. The Cali Cartel is the largest, richest, and most complex producers and distributors of cocaine. The cartel concentrates almost entirely in cocaine. Over time they have developed an extremely large and sophisticated distribution system and have generated an extraordinary amount of wealth. Because of their ... This structure has worked very well and it is because of the cartels complex system that they have been so successful. However, these organizations would cease to exist if they didn t reside within the governments that they do. The Cali Cartels operations are made much easy because of warring paramilitary groups in Columbia. These groups protect the growers in their specific areas. If there were to be peace in Columbia and the two groups agree to a ceasefire, the growers would then be vulnerable to government intervention. In Mexico, the AFO thrives on the large number of corrupt Mexican officials. The cartel makes it a very smart choice for a government official or law enforcer to help them. Not only are they bribed, but they are also threatened with violence. Everyone in Mexico knows from the history of this group that they mean business and any threat is very legitimate. Because of the large amount of corruption in the Mexican government, the Tijuana cartel flourishes. Both of these cartels are custom made for the area they are located in. If the systems were to switch geographic locations, they would not be nearly as successful. • 12. Veterans Compensation For Veterans With national security playing such sizeable a role today, it is important to ask questions about the effects it has on the military personnel. Veterans go through a lot to protect, serve, and defend this nation for a better tomorrow. But in response to their actions to benefit America, do American citizens and our government do all to support our veterans. Are they appropriately being awarded compensation as of loss, injury, and suffering? With the number of veterans growing are they receiving recognition for all their efforts as an individual and a whole? The veteran population has adapted through the ages, but there has always remained the solid respect and uttermost gratitude towards them. Even though veterans are thought of very highly for their bravery, they are not receiving adequate compensation and recognition. The evolution of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has grown to accommodate and benefit the new age of veterans. It dates back to the Revolutionary War where the Continental Congress agreed to provide pensions for disabled soldiers. This was in an effort to raise support for the Patriots side during the war. In the Civil War Era Nation s Homes were designed to aid injured soldiers. The First Nations home located in southern Maine, admitted any Union soldier that needed medical attention. Two similar movements emerged during this era that shared the same ideologies: the Chicano and the Black Power Movement. Both shared a similar ideology that outlined their movement, which was the call for self determination. The similar experiences that they had undergone such as the maltreatment and the abuse of power that enacted was enacted by the dominant Anglo race helped to shape these ideologies. Jim Crow laws made segregation legal in the Deep South, thus enforcing the superiority of whites and the privileges given to them, such as cleaner and better facilities that accommodated them. Chicanos and African American alike had the dignity to not depend on the states to give them their rights, but they were willing to give themselves their own rights, pushing for Chicano and Black Nationalism. The growing racism and discrimination that both races experienced helped to mold their similar ideologies as both sought for the end of these negative acts. For example, most people connect lynching to African Americans during this movement, but what is left unsaid is that Mexican Americans were also lynched as well. In the Deep South a group that was prominently known for lynching in the south was the Ku Klux Klan. The western south states that bordered Mexico also had terrorizing groups whose lynching was targeted towards Mexican Americans rather than African Americans: the Ku Klux Klan and the Texas Rangers. These groups continuously assaulted minority groups as they saw them as inferior and a threat to the American culture. What angered the Chicanos and the African Americans most was not that their people were continuously being assaulted, but because these groups got away with it. • 15. Examples Of Plato s Allegory Of The Cave Plato is widely considered one of the most influential figures in the development process of western philosophy, and societies throughout the world. Examples of his influence and ideas can be found in works like On Shadows and Realities in Education , in his book The Republic. Within the text, Plato challenges society to ponder the concept of reality and how individuals perceive it. Even today scholars and philosophers are questioning reality in the same way Plato did thousands of years ago and are applying those ideas in modern society. Although it might not seem that a modern film and an ancient story could shed light on one another, a look at the Director Peter Weir s film, The Truman Show, in terms of Plato s allegory of the cave shows that elements of his allegory such as the cave, the origin of knowledge, and the nature of reality itself, are still depicted. ... • 17. International Response To The Rwandan Genocide In The 20th... Rwandan Genocide Throughout the 20th century, numerous acts of genocides have attempted to bring the complete elimination and devastation of large groups of people originating from various particular ethnicities. With these genocides occurring in many regions of the world, the perpetrators often organizing such crimes, have historically been larger and more powerful than the victims themselves. Often being the government and its military forces. However, the lack of international response associated with these genocides, further contributed to the devastating outcomes. On April 6,1994, the fastest killing spree of the century took place in Rwanda against the Tutsi minority population. With many warning signs having already been proclaimed prior to the start of the Rwandan genocide, I believe that with international interference, this bloodshed could have ultimately been prevented. Rwanda is a country located in Central Eastern Africa, with an extensive history of colonization, after Belgium attained control in 1924. Belgium s rule however also marked the beginning of a lengthy ethnic rivalry between the Hutu and the Tutsi people. Belgium favored the Tutsi the minority at 14 percent of the population over the Hutu, the majority at 85 percent, simply because the Tutsis were more resembling of the Europeans. Colonial policy helped to intensify bipolar differentiation between Tutsi and Hutu, by inscribing ethnic identification on identity cards, by relegating the vast majority of Hutu to particularly onerous forms of forced cultivation and corvee, and by actively favoring Tutsi in access to administrative posts, education, and jobs in the modern sector, (Newbury, 12). Belgium s control fueled the Hutu s resentment towards the Tutsis because the Tutsis received superior treatment for decades. Thus, when Rwanda finally acquired independence in 1962, the Hutus fought for control over the government, highlighting the first warning sign of the genocide to come. Many Tutsis were killed afterwards, while many others fled to neighboring countries to escape the violence. • 18. The American Education System Education American Education System Education plays important role in society. It determines the final development of an adult s personality. In today s society most jobs require a University degree. To receive a University degree students need to rely on a good education system. Does America provide this? The American education system has relied on the grade point average system for a long time. The problem with this is there is not a universal GPA grade point system varying from course to course. This creates an inaccurate way to determine ones overall achievements. Teachers have different standards than others, grade inflation can occur and students can be exposed to different learning environments. Does the education system need to change to create fairness? The American education system has not changed drastically since the 1900s. In the early 1900 s before grading, teachers were expected to communicate in depth to their students on how they were doing in the class. This worked well for small groups and individual tutoring. The ability for this information to be passed on to those who were not involved with the learning process, such as employers and parents was limited. By the mid 20th century schools changed drastically as they introduced grades in the form of letters. The American schools now became more standardized as A, B, C, D and F represented ones grade. Depending what percentage a student received determined letter they got. An example is an A is a mark of 90 100% ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Antigone Tragic Hero Essay According to Aristotle, the main idea of a tragic hero is a person who brings about feelings of pity or of fear for their situation in an audience (Hogue, Tragic Hero). The character will cause a series of events that will lead to their tragic downfall, which is normally their death. In the case of The Oedipus Plays of Sophocles, the story of Antigone evokes the most pity from the audience. At the beginning of her story, she realizes that she is breaking a law set by Creon, but that doesn t sway her decision. • 22. Analysis Of Arable Of The Sower arable of the Sower follows teenage Lauren Olamina, who lives with her family inside a walled community. When the community within the wall is forced into the outside world, Lauren tries to unite them under her vision of Earthseed. Parable demonstrates how walls form artificial divides through essentially similar humans. The opera s story of a walled community parallels the many walls in our present world, and the depiction of the wall on stage throughout the play changes as the relationship the characters have with it changes. Throughout the first act, the Lauren s father and the others in her community emphasize the safety within their wall. Outside the wall, they remind her, are dangerous people who are unlike them. In our present day world, walled communities exist for the same purpose of a secure community that Parable describes. One such example is the Alphaville compounds in Brazil, where the rich can wall themselves off from the poor. Unlike Alphaville, people who reside outside the wall in Parable are not even allowed in as day laborers. However, those living inside have the privileged freedom of entering and exiting the walled community as they like. In our current era, walls, says Jones, are meant for preventing the movement of undesired peoples from ungoverned spaces. Parable presents the outside of the wall as near chaos and lacking the morality of inside the wall. In line with the logic of Jones, the wall separates those who purportedly lack the morals to be governable apart from those who live in reason. The set in the first act of Parable of the Sower is a halo like arc of fabric, suspended above the stage. The characters sit inside the space underneath this arc, and through their actions and words frame the area beyond the stage as existing outside their wall. They emphasize their difference from the the people existing outside the wall, often gesturing or looking to the audience as outsiders. These othering narratives that dehumanize the outsiders by emphasizing their negative characteristics are critical to the justification of walling practices. To the community existing within the wall, the wall is a positive structure, shielding them from the events (and people) outside. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pain can be throbbing waves of delirium that come from getting hit in the head. Pain can be an internal stimulus that inhibits thoughts of bliss. Hunger is the pain or uneasy sensation caused by the want of food, and affects a large amount of people worldwide. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates about 795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world suffer from chronic malnourishment in a 2014 2016 study (worldhunger.org, 2016). The ability for humans to grow exponentially on a limited amount of land is dangerous, for eventually the amount of resources available will not be succinct enough to allow everyone to live. This leads to the question on whether population control should be enacted to prevent such an event. But with the world s population projected to reach 10.1 billion people by the year 2100, it is evident that some change must occur. (Becker, 2011). Actions have been taken by the biochemical community to better understand human nutritional needs and revolutionized how crops are grown. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe and The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh are two of numerous, prominent poems in the late sixteenth century. Both were written between 1590 and 1600, however, the exact years for each are somewhat ambiguous. Raleigh s The Passionate Shepherd . . . is classified as a pastoral poem due to its depiction of a natural setting and is also considered to be perhaps the most famous of all English pastoral works. Wool is one of the first textiles, although in the late 20th century wool prices began to fall as the result of the popularity and cheap prices for synthetic fabrics . Sheep meat and milk are the earliest staple proteins consumed by human civilization after the transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture. Byproducts from the slaughter of sheep are also of value; sheep tallow can be used in candle and soap making , while sheep bone and cartilage has been used to furnish carved items such as dice and buttons . A lot of people had asked him how his daily life was when he was there, and this book, Walden, is an attempt to answer that question. In his writing, he uses the first person view which he states that he knows his self best and aims to give a what he call a simple and sincere account of his own life. When Thoreau removed himself from society and chose solitude at Walden Pond and wrote this book is a proof of which he can communicate his ideas well to the readers. In his book, Thoreau sets out his own beliefs about nature of human existence and society where he stated that he believes that men does not need to work hard as they do if and only if they are willing to simplify and also by following their instincts. He was an outstanding poet, who wrote poems that were outside the box. A great example would be one of his most famous pieces Paridise lost, written in blank verse. In paridise lost Milton concerns the biblical story of the fall of man by using Adam and Eve as the prime example. As Paridise lost goes on you can definetly start to notice that he puts one specific character ahead of all others and thats Satan. I believe miltons hero is Satan because of the way he talks about Satan in the epic poem. When the epic poem is read it sounds as if Milton ecourges the behavior of Satan. I Believe Milton considers Satan to be the hero, or protagonist, of the story, because he struggles to overcome his own doubts and weaknesses and accomplishes his goal of corrupting humankind. Satan is a very complex character in the epic poem. I belive Milton considers Satan as his hero because he want Satan to seem heroic and appealing early in the poem to draw us into sympathizing with him against our will, so that we may see how seductive evil is and learn to be more vigilant in resisting its appeal. Milton devotes much of the poem s early books to developing Satan s character. Satan s character changes significantly from Book I to his final appearance in Book X. For example, the movie and song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer parallels the oppression of minorities, specifically with the Code Talkers, in the novel, Code Talkers, by Chester Nez, during World War II. Since before the beginning of United States history, the people of the United States have oppressed and repressed the Native Americans that have lived on this land long before them. The lyric, All of the other reindeer/ used to laugh and call him names/ they never let poor Rudolph/ join in any reindeer games parallels the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And for the Code Talkers, years and years later, when they could finally discuss the code, Senator Jeff Bingaman . . . proposed the Honoring the Navajo Code Talkers Act . . . the act called for recognition for the code talkers (Nez 256). Both saved the day and both oppressor groups were largely grateful for their sacrifices and for their differences that made it possible. Also, their differences from the rest of the world were not only unique, but were hard or impossible to obtain. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer s talent was obviously that he, had a very shiny nose (Autry 6). This is difficult to obtain because he was born with it, it was not earned by him and it seems that this phenomenon has never happened before in the North Pole reindeer world. Likewise, pronunciation of even one Navajo word is nearly impossible for someone not used to hearing the sounds (Nez 91). This talent can be obtained, but is seemingly impossible to be learned later in life, as the language was so complex it could be learned only is one began in infancy (Nez 91). That being said, this talent was in high demand because of the very small percentage of people who could speak Navajo in the United States and the US Government could not simply take shortcuts in learning the language because they would need to grow a colony of Navajo speaking children over the span of about eighteen years. Which, was time no one had. Regardless of how the other reindeer or the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ornoto University of Kansas This article describes the development of the Relationship ClosenessInventory (RCI), which draws on the conceptualization of closeness as high interdependence between two people s activities proposed by Kelley et al. (1983). O n faith in that assumption, we attempted to devise an instrument for assessing relationship closeness with the following characteristics: 1. It should focus on the I st three properties of interaction highlighted by Kelley et al. (1983): frequency, diversity, and strength. (The property o f duration poses special problems, which are discussed shortly.) In the absence o f an omniscient observer to record the actual interaction chain of events, how one assesses these properties is necessarily somewhat arbitrary. Nevertheless, we believed that however the assessment was to be made, it should at least attempt to reflect the individual flavor o f each o f these properties of interdependence separately. We assumed that although each of these properties may be an indicator of closeness, they need not be, and probably are not, strongly correlated across all o f a person s relationships or across all relationship types. Thus, the closeness measure should be composed o f several separate subindexes o f closeness, each a reflection o f one o f the three properties specified. 2. These individual indicators o f closeness should be assessed in a way that permits an overall, or summary, index o f closeness to be made for each relationship examined. 3. • 38. Orsino Twelfth Night Helen Chen Ms. Botelho ENG1D1 06 10 February 2015 Twelfth Night Essay When two people are in a romantic relationship, marriage is usually the ultimate goal. Marriage is precious, formal and sacred. In the play, Twelfth Night, three marriages are depicted. One of the marriages has happened because of a mistake and the other given as a reward. Which means that one marriage will be more long lasting than the other. In my opinion, Viola and Orsino s marriage is going to be the most successful because of their love and commitment to each other, the length of time they have known each other and finally the trust between them. Firstly, love and commitment is one of the many factors that contribute to a successful marriage. Love and commitment allow couples to act with integrity, respect and care for each other. The readers can clearly see the commitment Viola has for Duke Orsino when she says, After him I love/More than I love these eyes, more than my life,/More, by all mores, than e er I shall love wife (V. i. 130 132). This proves that Viola ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Love is built on trust therefore we can only love someone we trust. I have unclasp d/To thee the book even of my secret soul;... (I. iv. 12 14). This demonstrates Orsino s evident trust for Viola. He is able to share all of his secrets with Viola only after three days of knowing each other. Couples can only express their feelings freely to each other, feel secure and safe when they trust each other. Therefore, the trust Viola and Orsino has for each other is a vital asset they have that will make them different from the other two couples and it is this that will make them the most successful marriage in the play. • 39. Fear, Guilt, and Regret in Macbeth by William Shakespeare In William Shakespeare s Macbeth the reader watches as Macbeth changes gradually as the play endures. He are transforms from a loyal person with a loving and loyal disposition with other people, into a tyrants who are willing to kill in order to keep himself on the throne. He is tormented with fear, regret, and guilt. When someone does something they know is wrong it causes them to fall prey to their own emotions. After Duncan s death you are able to see how the characters involved in the murder almost instantly experience feelings of regret. There is a scene where Macbeth is in shock so greatly after murdering Duncan, that he forgets to leave the murder weapon behind. When confronted by Lady Macbeth(who says he needs to go return the weapons) he says, I ll go no more: / I am afraid to think what I have done; / Look on t again I dare not ( 2.2 53 55). This allows us to see how Macbeth is pained by what he has done. Macbeth also says he heard a voice say Glamis hath murdered sleep, and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more. Macbeth shall sleep no more. ( 2.2 46 48). When Macbeth says this he is saying that he has not only murdered Duncan, but he has murdered sleep. He is saying he won t be able to sleep after what he has just done because he will regret it forever and it will haunt him. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are interrupted by knocking on the door and as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth walk away he says, Wake Duncan with thy knocking; I would though couldst. ( 2.2 78 79). ...
