Zechariah Research Paper
Kevin Alves Stone. OT302. Zechariah 11 12. Guided Essay.
What did you learn about the character or nature of God?
Zechariah: 11 12 God permitted the wicked shepherd to arise, to destroy the sheep. This happened
because they did not choose the Good Shepherd. In turn Israel will receive one who is foolish and who
will do absolutely the opposite of what is expected for shepherds. God will destroy all of the sheep.
The governors of Judah realized that God is fighting for them. He provides supernatural protection
from God to His people. When they see the enemies being confused and killing each other, they found
out that the God of Jerusalem is there to help them. The Lord will make the feeble like David, the
greatest soldier in Israel s history.

As Clea Benson writing for Bloomberg BusinessWeek describes, the 1977 Community Reinvestment
Act (CRA) required banks to make loans in all the areas they serve, not just the wealthy ones. A
Bloomberg analysis found the percentage of banks earning negative ratings from regulators on CRA
exams has risen from 1.45 percent in 2007 to more than 6 percent in the first quarter of this year.
Consequently, by updating this regulation Clinton, socially engineered regulatory intervention into the
market place redlining small community banks (sellers) to produce risky loans to unqualified buyers at
below market interest rates. Thereby, setting up a chain of events leading to the market collapse.
Accordingly, Competitive Enterprise Institute s fellow Michelle Minton specializing in consumer
policy disclosed in her work The Community Reinvestment Act s Harmful Legacy that, Chase
Manhattan and J.P. Morgan donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to ACORN around the same
time they were to apply for permission to merge and needed to comply with CRA regulations. Now,
Gwartney et.al did pepper their work with the destructive effects of government intervention into the
free market. They also addressed special interest groups using the democratic political process to
fleece taxpayers and consumers. However, as

Role Of The Business Cycle Dating Committee Of The...
In this paper, I will explain the roles and importance of the Business cycle Dating committee of the
National Bureau of Economic Research. I will also explain how the NBER defines and dates
recessions. Finally I will explain the important aspects and effects of the last recession.
The Business Cycle is ...the ups and downs in economic activity, defined in terms of periods of
expansion or recession (Dr. Econ). Expansion is the period in which employment, production, sales
and income increase. Likewise, the contrasting contraction is when the actions above decrease. In
order to keep track of the fluctuations of the US s business cycles troughs and peaks, the National
Bureau of Economic Research was created. The NBER is comprised of a group of economic
researchers currently led by president James Poterba. The members are usually specialized in the field
of business cycle research, and are chosen by the president. The NBER was founded in 1920 as a
private non profit ...non partisan organization dedicated to conducting economic research and to
disseminating research findings among academics, public policy makers, and business professionals.
(http://www.nber.org/info.html). The NBER dating committee was formed in 1978, and plays an
important role in the US as an examiner of broad measures of economic activity, and the most reliable
source of the beginning and end of recessions in the U.S. This is accomplished by gathering as much
data on a given period of economic activity.

The Decolonization Of Mars
A lot can be said about Mars. It was named after the Roman God of War, Mars, for its red color. One
of the biggest topics of conversation regarding Mars is whether or not us humans should be looking to
colonize the Red Planet. I won t be getting into the debate of privatized or public space programs
because in the end they are both working towards a common goal of getting to Mars. The points I will
layout through this essay will be, is Mars habitable, how much money it will cost to get to Mars, some
thoughts from Stephen Petranek and is it an actual solution.
When we get to the topic of habitability on Mars, we have to focus on the main points. Is the
atmosphere able to sustain life? Are we able to grow food to feed animals and ourselves? ... Show

Food, shelter, water, and clothing. This is for Earth, when we get to Mars, we would need oxygen as
well. What has been stated earlier in the essay was having supplies brought to Mars earlier than our
intended arrival, and some of the stuff there could be dry food. In his Ted talk, he states that about
80% of the food we would eat on Mars would be dry foods, and the other would be grown gradually
over time. Petranek says in his Ted talk that about 15 20% would be grown from hydroponics. What
this means is that plants would grow without soil, because Martian soil is toxic. It is considered to be
toxic because NASA s Curiosity rover found perchlorates in the Martian ground. We wouldn t be able
to grow food easily until there is running water on the surface, and we found an easier way to make
the dirt able to be used for farming practices. I personally wouldn t enjoy having to eat dried foods for
a long time while living on Mars, but some other people might. I would need the greens and
vegetables to thrive for an extended amount of

Examples Of Stereotypes In The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is set in Shermer, Illinois on March 24, 1984. Five high school students from
Shermer High School are required to report for detention on a Saturday. The school s principal, Mr.
Vernon, who is supervising the detention, gives them an assignment where they are each required to
write an essay about how they came to be in detention and who they think they are. The students are
strangers to one another, each coming from a different social group, however, throughout the day they
eventually open up and they begin to realize they are not, in fact, as different as they originally
thought. The Breakfast Club is a movie that falls into the Comedy/Drama type of entertainment media.

In high school, everyone is vulnerable and desperate to figure out who they are. As a consequence,
people typically live off the labels put upon them by others. When suddenly they re not that unique 13
year old kid their parents told them they were; they re a loser, they re a jock, they re a brain, they re a
princess and they re a basket case. In this movie, they ve come to a point where they don t know
themselves as anything other than their label, which they had no choice in. These labels were chosen
for them based on their looks, background and family. For example, Claire is pretty and rich and that
is what everyone has told her so what else is she supposed to believe? Because of this, she s always
going to think she is supposed to hang out with the pretty, popular girls, because that s who society has
told her she is. The same can be said for the rest of the characters, Bender especially. While growing
up, his own parents told him that he was never worth anything. Because of this, when he went to
school and was faced with dealing with other adults, he

Legal Law Of Non Professional Services Essay
The only segment of the opinion, written by Justice McClanahan that I would have preferred to see
more written about was where she wrote that the VPPA clearly established that sealed competitive
bidding was the sole method of procurement that had to be used, by SBC, for this contract. I believe
that Justice McClanahan was not looking at all procurements of non professional services but only at
the solicitation issued by SBSC. Therefore, I believe what Justice McClanahan should have written
was that competitive sealed bidding was the sole option for SBSC based on their actions. If Justice
McClanahan meant to say that it was the only option for any procurement of non professional
services, then I believe she was incorrect. Both Thomas Folk and William Mauck Jr. published legal
articles that analyzed this case. They both wrote that competitive negotiations was an option for the
procurement of non professional services at the time that SBSC issued their solicitation. § 2.2 4300
section C stated that upon a determination made in advance by the public body and set forth in writing
that competitive sealed bidding is either not practicable or not fiscally advantageous to the public,
goods, services, or insurance may be procured by competitive negotiations. The writing shall
document the basis for this determination. (VPPA, 2006) Based on the VPPA, had SBSC made that
written determination, they could have then issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) instead of their Best

This introduction brought about the first real signs of competition within computing history, which
helped to create faster and better computers . Over the course of the next few years, inventors all over
the world began to search more into the study of computers, and how to improve upon them. Those
next ten years say the introduction of the transistor, which would become a vital part of the inner
workings of the computer, the ENIAC 1 computer, as well as many other types of systems. The
ENIAC 1 is perhaps one of the most interesting, as it required 20,000 vacuum tubes to operate. It was
a massive machine, and started the revolution to build smaller and faster computers . Technology
began with the earliest hominids that used stone tools , which they may have used to start fires, hunt,
cut food, bury their dead , etc. . The early technological development in the United States was
facilitated by a coming together of geographical , social , and economic factors. The relative lack of
workers always kept United States wages nearly higher than corresponding British and European
workers and provided an incentive to program some tasks . The United States population had some
semi unique advantages in that they were former British subjects, had high English literacy skills, for
that period (over 80% in New England) , had strong British institutions , with some minor American

Elizabethan Era Medicine
Herbal Remedies and Poisons in Elizabethan Times
In this day and age, there are millions of pharmaceuticals out there for all kinds of diseases and
conditions, but where did all of this start? The creation of medicines most likely started when people
discovered the healing properties plants contained. Today, mankind has the knowledge and technology
to extract elements from plants to produce more chemically engineered medicines. The real question is
how did medicines develop from mashing up leaves in order to lessen an infuriating rash to just
popping a pill to nurse or illness? Medicines evolved by the scientific method: series of research and
experiments. During the Elizabethan era, research and experimentation attained a renewed interest. ...

Canada s First Nations Safe Water Crisis Essay
Canada, like so many other countries in the world continues to deal with many different
environmental resource issues. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has
been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on the
safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nations communities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016) defines a
crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the reality of the
Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past few decades, many
of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our reserves have water that is
contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty treatment systems. (Klasing,
2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is Canada s responsibility to provide
the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens.
To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important to
look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015, there
have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. With Ontario having the
highest number 79, followed by British Columbia 35, Saskatchewan 24, Alberta 17, the Atlantic 7 and
Quebec 2. (p. 6) The graphic below helps us see the severity of the issue by showing the drinking

What Makes A Good Leader
What qualities make a good leader? You can ask a hundred different people, and you will get a
hundred different answers. A good leader is someone who accomplishes the mission, has the respect of
their subordinates, and makes the difficult decisions when needed. For me, I believe that a great leader
needs to have a variety of qualities, but most importantly a sense of fairness, hard work/care, and
common consideration for others. Different experiences throughout my life and time at West Point
have lead me to believe that these three tenants are what are most needed for a great leader. In terms of
a leader s moral character, common consideration has the greatest influence on the success of a leader,
because without common consideration, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are numerous occasions at West Point where I have seen individuals dole out unequal shares of
duties or rewards based on their personal feelings towards the recipients. Fairness and impartiality are
fundamental traits in good officers. If a leader singles out an individual for either unfair rewards or
punishments, it signals to the unit that there are other necessary factors needed other than hard work to
get ahead, such as cozying up to the platoon leader to get the good assignments. Soldiers need to know
that assignments or tasks they are assigned are either given through merit, or are given equally to all
soldiers in the unit. Unfair treatment is a quick way for soldiers to drift away from the task at hand and
instead focus on getting into the good graces of the leader, leaving the unit less cohesive and the
mission unaccomplished. I have witness firsthand here at West Point many unfair decisions that were
made solely out of how much someone liked or hated the person they were dealing with. One such
example that comes to mind is when one cadet was given preferential treatment and allowed to get off
morning workouts, while other cadets had to continue. The physical development staff of my company
forces any cadet with an APFT score of less than 260 to show up to morning workouts on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday of each week. These cadets are given the opportunity to stop attending
workouts by scoring above a 270 on a diagnostic APFT conducted once a month.

Female Film Directors and the British Film Industry
In this essay I will be discussing whether female filmmakers in Britain find it easier to make a
documentary feature than a fiction feature film in the current British film industry. I will be referring
to the opinions and films of Kim Longinotto, Carol Morley, Clio Barnard and Alison Stirling. I will
also be looking at the statistics from film festivals and the British Film Institute, and interviews with
various British female filmmakers. I will argue that documentaries are easier to make due to them
being less expensive to make and not requiring a large crew. I will try to show that female filmmakers
are less like to get funding for a fiction feature film due to the people that make the decisions in terms

Even more worryingly, women accounted for just 7.8% of directors on UK films in 2012, a decrease
of more than 7% year on year (15% in 2011) (www.wftv.org.uk). This means that there were 165 male
directors, but only 14 female directors. This equals the amount of female directors currently working
in TV drama, as reported by Directors UK. (http://www.directors.uk.com/about us/news/where are

There are several successful women making fiction feature films within the UK, such as Clio Barnard,
Lynne Ramsay, however there are still relatively few British women directing feature films. In the
areas of documentary and experimental film, however, women have directed a substantial body of
work. This suggests that away from the constraints of the commercial film industry, greater
opportunities still exist to explore the representation of women s lives and their subjective experience
within Britain (Helen Wheatley Aitken, 2005). Pratibha Parmer, a UK documentary maker, believes
that women have trouble getting into fiction filmmaking and states that, some female directors have
produced fictional work, but we can still say that this is the exception rather than the rule. These are
two very different worlds, and the passage between them is not easy. There are very few women who
can break through into the world of fiction filmmaking, partly because of the enormous budgets
involved, the great risks and the

Reverse discrimination
Affirmative action is not the source of discrimination, but the vehicle for removing the effects of
discrimination. The Labor Department report found less than 100 reverse discrimination cases among
more than 3,000 discrimination opinions by the U.S. District Court and the Court of Appeal between
1990 and 1994. Discrimination was established in only six cases. The report found that, Many of the
cases were the result of a disappointed applicant . erroneously assuming that when a woman or

Violates principles of compensatory justice
Affirmative action is not an attempt to make up for slavery, it is an attempt to correct today s
discrimination against minorities and women in our society. Affirmative action policies address and
redress systematic economic and political discrimination against any group of people that are
underrepresented or have a history of being discriminated against in particular institutions.
Beneficiaries of these programs have included white men and women, people with disabilities, and
poor and working class people, but their primary emphasis has been on addressing racial
discrimination. Specific white people may not get the specific job opportunity because of affirmative
action policies and may suffer as a result. This lack of opportunity is unfortunate; the structural factors
which produce a lack of decent jobs needs to be addressed.
Harms it s intended beneficiaries
A more careful analysis reveals that affirmative action programs have benefited substantial numbers of
poor and working class people of color. Access to job training programs, vocational school, and semi

Fidel Castro Influence
Fidel Castro is one of most famous communist dictators that ruled Cuba from 1959 to 2008 and made
Cuba the first communist country in the Western hemisphere. Castro is most known for his time in
power where the relations between Cuba and the U.S. were completely severed, which caused a
complete trade embargo between the two countries and almost resulted in nuclear war during the
Cuban Missile Crisis. Some scholars believe that Castro always sought out good relations with the
U.S, but it was through U.S. aggression that Castro was radicalized into communism and allied with
the Soviet Union whereas the other position held by scholars believe that Castro always planned to
sever relations with the U.S. in order to nationalize the Cuban economy. ... Show more content on

However, there is proof that this is false because in 1953, which were the early years of the Cuban
Revolution, Castro made a speech called History Will Absolve Me, which shows that when Castro was
a political prisoner he carried the teachings of Marxism and Jose Mari everywhere and believed that
the people of the revolution were the workers and peasants that were exploited by the United States.
Also, in Castro s speech History Will Absolve Me, Castro already developed and laid down five
revolutionary principles that called for the nationalization of the Cuban economy, which shows that
Castro s writings in 1953 matched his writings later on about his formative years. This shows that in
the early stages of the Cuban revolution that Castro s ideological beliefs of nationalism found in

Government Control Throughout Literary Works
Governmental control surrounds society daily and has been around for centuries. Governments came
around so that they could control others. It recurs throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by
William Shakespeare, as well as in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Even in modern
day, government control remains a significant part of life. For example, the SOPA bill arose in
Congress when the need for anti piracy protection became urgent or the USA admitting the Yemeni
dictator into one of its medical centers. It occurs from the 1500s in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
to the 1800s in The Count of Monte Cristo and even modern day. Each government designs itself in a
way so that it functions with a united purpose to keep the human ... Show more content on

Napoleon puts himself into power after he successfully overthrows the king of France. The French
monarchy weakens day by day and thus, the Napoleon Empire quickly establishes itself in the
monarchy s place. Governmental control appears strongly when it just takes Villefort s signature to
throw an innocent person into jail. Dantes realizes this when he thinks: Villefort s change in
demeanour during the examination, the burning of the letter, the exacted oath, the magistrate s almost
supplicating voice which seemed to implore rather than to threaten, all passed through his mind
(Dumas 61). Once Dantes learns of Villefort s treachery, his personality completely turns around. An
innocent man should not be sent to jail because someone else chooses to cover his or her tracks and fix
his or her own problems. Governmental control has become corrupted and no longer functional. The
1800s style governments opened themselves to conflict; however, corruption prevailed. Modern day
differs greatly compared to previous centuries but the need for control has continued to live on.
Modern day has vastly improved its government over the previous centuries. However, society still
faces issues due to governmental control. A bill called SOPA tried to limit creativity on the Internet,
but classed as an anti piracy bill. The USA formerly debated on whether to admit a Yemeni dictator,
one who has killed thousands of the Yemeni people, into one of its medical centers.

The Evolution Of Modern Cattle Breeding
INTRODUCTION:
Modern cattle breeding increasingly involves the widespread use of advanced reproductive
technologies, including artificial insemination (AI) and multiple ovulation embryo transfer (MOET),
frequently with the germplasm of elite international sires and dams selected through individual and
progeny performance recording schemes. These technologies facilitate the rapid worldwide
multiplication of offspring from elite animals to assist the propagation of genes that improve milk
yield, meat production and other desirable traits. However rapid propagation of desirable genes is
accompanied by simultaneous propagation of genetic mutations that may results in production losses
and animal welfare problems, such as Citrullinaemia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Incidence of heterozygotes for citrullinemia has been estimated at less than 0.5% among U.S.
Holsteins cattle.
Harper and co workers have reported citrullinemia in the Friesian cattle breed (Friesian are a breed of
dairy cattle identical to the Holstein breed commonly used in the United States) in Australia.
Bovine citrullinemia was not a useful marker for milk, fat and protein production because 1) the
frequency of the defective allele was low and 2) within family differences was non significant
between normal and heterozygous half sisters (Roger, 1998).
Pathogenesis:
Citrullinemia is an inborn error of metabolism due to a deficiency of the urea cycle enzyme
argininosuccinate synthetase. The affected animals have liver AS mRNA levels at less than 5% of
controls due to a single base pair mutation (Dennis, 1989). This metabolic disorder was first identified
in humans and later in dogs and
Friesian calves (Odalys, 2009). The genetic disorder results in a deficiency in arginino succinate
synthetase, leading to enzymatic disruption of the urea cycle.
Argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS, EC 6.3.4.5) is a urea cycle enzyme which is expressed at high
levels in the liver. The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of citrulline, aspartate, and ATP to yield
argininosuccinate, the immediate precursor of arginine (Husson, 2003). The mutation responsible for
citrullinemia has been characterized as a single base substitution (C T) in exon 5

To Kill A Mockingbird Innocence Quotes
In the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, who is an American novelist, tells a story about
human mockingbirds. The story is told through Scout s perspective, who is a little white girl. She
explains what lead up to Jem getting his arm broken. Scout is the little sister of Jem and they are
Atticus s children. In her novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses Boo Radley, Tom Robinson,
and Atticus as human mockingbirds and therefore, symbols of innocence.
First, Harper uses Boo Radley as a symbol of a mockingbird. Boo and his friends locked locked
Mr.Conner into the courthouse outhouse and the town decided to do something about it. Mr.Conner
pressed charges on them and the judge decided the boys would be sent to the state industrial school.
Mr. Radley thought it was a prison and said no to his son going. So Mr.Radley locked Boo in the
basement for his whole life. Jem said There was a long jagged scar that ran across his face; what teeth

that wanted to protect a black man from being falsely accused of a crime he didn t commit. As the
story continues, Atticus goes on and defends Tom and makes Bob Ewell look like a fool. Scout
explains Mr.Bob Ewell stopped Atticus on the post office corner, spat in his face, and told him he d get
him if it took the rest of his life (290). Bob Ewell is angry at Atticus for humiliating him in court and
defending a black man against him. This quote shows Bob was so angry at Atticus that he tried to kill

ones of science and religion, and their need to humiliate their opponents through evangelism and

Weinberg is in fact a fundamentalist of science who questions the existence of God. But, Berry argues
that If in fact the fundamentalist scientists were as smart as they think they are, and if the religious
fundamentalists were as secure in their belief as they claim to be, then they would leave one another in

Mexican American Racism
Mexican American (Chicano) first generation back in 1960 were not treated with respect. They were
mistreated and had to deal with racism. The school district did not offer them the same rights as any
other students, they did not give them classes to get ready for college. Thousands of students who
attended high school in Los Angeles were fed up of being treated like if they were less than anyone

as a white teenager. Also, they were not allowed to speak Spanish at any time during School hours.
Chicanos were dropping out of school and not graduating, only 1 out 4 students were graduating
because they were treated unequally. Mexican American students throughout the Southwest held a
60% high school dropout rate. If they did graduate, they averaged an 8th grade reading level. Due to
Anglo centric internal school policies, many Chicano students were fielded to vocational training or
classes for mentally disabled. The schools would not do anything to help them and made sure they
graduated high school. Not many Chicanos were going to college after high school because they were
not given the opportunity to go. In school, chicanos were separated from all the students and were
given different classes. Instead of getting a class to prepare them for college they would give them

Paul is Dead A very famous conspiracy that many perceive to be true is that Paul McCartney is and
has been dead since 1966. It is believed that the band s manager and crew replaced him with a look
alike that also sounds like him. The conspiracy s believers say that there are plenty of clues within the
songs and the album art, and they even believe the Abbey Road picture has clues. This paper will
cover why the conspiracy may be true, why it may be fake, and at the end there will be an unbiased
opinion on the famous Beatle death . How can this conspiracy be perceived as true? The conspirators
make plenty of good points, like how his car was in an accident on November 9, 1966. This is
perceived to be the date of his death and the conspirators believe you can see the date if you put a
mirror halfway (horizontally) between the letters in the bass drum for Sergeant Pepper s Lonely Hearts
Club Band album. If you set the mirror halfway like you re supposed to, you see 1 ONE IX HE DIE,
the 1 ONE being 11, which is November, and the IX being the 9th, when his car was involved in the
accident. Also on that album cover, Paul is seen raising his right hand, which in Eastern countries
represents death. The Lonely Hearts Club album cover is seen as a landmine of clues. The Beatles are
seen in band uniforms around the drum with cut out people all around them and flowers in the front.

Firstly it is bad if manufacturing would happen in India. No doubt Indians are known for group
orientation and not for individualism. Theoretically this should give us an advantage in labour
intensive industries. However experience shows that despite team power which group outlook can
provide we are known for poor productivity and not so much for cost saving compared to China and
other emerging Asian countries. Secondly our IDV scores do not matter if we are looking at a sales
team made of Indians. Naturally the Vodafone sales team in India should have Indian salesmen since
they understand the market better. Indians rather than foreign nationals would also mean lower HR
costs. And in the present situation the telecom market is buoyant and demand in any case exceeds
supply. Not much of concept selling needs to be done. An Indian sales team would work fine. Thirdly
if it is R D probably foreign nationals would serve better with their individualism and drive. With low

Alcoholism Is A Serious Matter
Many times, people young and old, will abuse the use of alcohol. It is known that when a person
begins drinking alcohol at an early age, they will later develop health issues, and possibly face the risk
of becoming an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a chronic disease, where a person has problems controlling
the amount they are drinking. An alcoholic does not have to be someone who drinks too much, they
may feel a strong urge to drink, they may become tolerant of the amount they are drinking, sometimes
drinking it just like water. They also can become physical with someone and then not remember the
conversation or what they did to the person the next day. Alcoholism is a serious matter, many do not
fully understand what it can do to lives, and may believe that it is not an issue. This essay will explore
the risk factors of alcoholism, effects of the prolonged use of alcohol, and how an alcoholic can get
help. Risk factors of alcoholism are mainly because of the steady drinking over a certain period of
time. Alcoholics become alcoholics when they are drinking too much on a daily basis, or binge
drinking on a regular basis, and this leads to a dependence on alcohol. As mentioned before, for
people who begin drinking at a younger age, they will have a higher risk of becoming dependent on
alcohol. Also, it is important to notice if alcoholism runs in family history, because many times the
risk is greater for people whose close relatives have an alcohol problem. Not only does alcohol

Palestine is the Holy Land of three of the world s major religions Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
They all have significant historical and religious sites in this region. (Harper, 1986, p.17)
The biblical claim, supported by the historical claim by the Jews, is at the heart of the major reasons
for the creation of the state of Israel. Its creation was based on the belief by Jews that the land was
promised to them by God. Even though there has been a series of take overs and occupations by others
in this area and the occurrence of numerous persecutions of Jews (which will be commented on later
4
in greater detail) worldwide since, causing other reasons for Jews to seek refuge in a homeland of their
own, the Biblical reasons should not be underestimated as a major factor for the state of Israel being
realised in the first place.
It was after Jewish exile and disaspora thereafter worldwide and the subsequent ramifications of this
that caused renewed motivation for the creation of the Jewish state. One such example came in the
form of Zionism.
ZIONISM
Since the abovementioned exile, the Jews experienced a broad disaspora and settled in numerous parts
of the world, notably Europe and the United States. There had been many persecutions of the Jews
during this period. In particular, this occurred during the nineteenth century in Russia and eastern

The First Lady implements allusion to accordingly compare Secretary Clinton to great leaders from
the past. She achieves this goal, by emphasizing that she wants a leader who truly believes in the
vision that our Founders put forth all those years ago. . . (Obama 22). Michelle Obamas allusion to the
Founding Fathers and their ideals help to establish a connection between Clinton and the leaders that
forged the nation. Including this comparison helps to guide the audience to collate their knowledge of
the Founding Fathers and apply it to Hillary Clinton. This citation becomes particularly significant
when the First Lady uses people that are so highly respected, such as the Founding Fathers, to
compare to Secretary Clinton. As a result, Michelle Obama is able to successfully enhance the image
of Hillary Clinton in the eyes of her audience. Nevertheless, Michelle Obama also uses allusions to
downgrade the image of Clintons opponent, Donald Trump. The First lady explains how we should
never . . .let anyone ever tell you that this country isn t great, that somehow we need to make it great
again (Obama 29). Michelle Obama ameliorates Clintons image, by alluding to a negative persona of
her rival. The First Lady utilizes Donald Trump s campaign slogan to institute that America is already
great within itself, and the nation does not need Trump to make it great again . This tactic supports
Michelle Obamas claim by altering the audiences view point of Donald Trump and his slogan. The
audience will now perceive Trump as someone who does not believe that America is or could be great

boost Clintons own image. Michelle Obamas use of allusion aids in modifying the persona of both

Advertisements are important to get the brand s name known, so they can sell products and make

  • 2. Zechariah Research Paper Kevin Alves Stone. OT302. Zechariah 11 12. Guided Essay. What did you learn about the character or nature of God? Zechariah: 11 12 God permitted the wicked shepherd to arise, to destroy the sheep. This happened because they did not choose the Good Shepherd. Thereby, setting up a chain of events leading to the market collapse. Accordingly, Competitive Enterprise Institute s fellow Michelle Minton specializing in consumer policy disclosed in her work The Community Reinvestment Act s Harmful Legacy that, Chase Manhattan and J.P. Morgan donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to ACORN around the same time they were to apply for permission to merge and needed to comply with CRA regulations. One of the biggest topics of conversation regarding Mars is whether or not us humans should be looking to colonize the Red Planet. The points I will layout through this essay will be, is Mars habitable, how much money it will cost to get to Mars, some thoughts from Stephen Petranek and is it an actual solution. Petranek says in his Ted talk that about 15 20% would be grown from hydroponics. What this means is that plants would grow without soil, because Martian soil is toxic. It is considered to be toxic because NASA s Curiosity rover found perchlorates in the Martian ground. We wouldn t be able to grow food easily until there is running water on the surface, and we found an easier way to make the dirt able to be used for farming practices. Five high school students from Shermer High School are required to report for detention on a Saturday. • 7. Legal Law Of Non Professional Services Essay The only segment of the opinion, written by Justice McClanahan that I would have preferred to see more written about was where she wrote that the VPPA clearly established that sealed competitive bidding was the sole method of procurement that had to be used, by SBC, for this contract. I believe that Justice McClanahan was not looking at all procurements of non professional services but only at the solicitation issued by SBSC. Therefore, I believe what Justice McClanahan should have written was that competitive sealed bidding was the sole option for SBSC based on their actions. If Justice McClanahan meant to say that it was the only option for any procurement of non professional services, then I believe she was incorrect. Both Thomas Folk and William Mauck Jr. published legal articles that analyzed this case. They both wrote that competitive negotiations was an option for the procurement of non professional services at the time that SBSC issued their solicitation. § 2.2 4300 section C stated that upon a determination made in advance by the public body and set forth in writing that competitive sealed bidding is either not practicable or not fiscally advantageous to the public, goods, services, or insurance may be procured by competitive negotiations. The writing shall document the basis for this determination. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on the safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nations communities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016) defines a crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the reality of the Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past few decades, many of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our reserves have water that is contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty treatment systems. (Klasing, 2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is Canada s responsibility to provide the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens. To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important to look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015, there have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. A good leader is someone who accomplishes the mission, has the respect of their subordinates, and makes the difficult decisions when needed. For me, I believe that a great leader needs to have a variety of qualities, but most importantly a sense of fairness, hard work/care, and common consideration for others. Different experiences throughout my life and time at West Point have lead me to believe that these three tenants are what are most needed for a great leader. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are numerous occasions at West Point where I have seen individuals dole out unequal shares of duties or rewards based on their personal feelings towards the recipients. Fairness and impartiality are fundamental traits in good officers. If a leader singles out an individual for either unfair rewards or punishments, it signals to the unit that there are other necessary factors needed other than hard work to get ahead, such as cozying up to the platoon leader to get the good assignments. Soldiers need to know that assignments or tasks they are assigned are either given through merit, or are given equally to all soldiers in the unit. Unfair treatment is a quick way for soldiers to drift away from the task at hand and instead focus on getting into the good graces of the leader, leaving the unit less cohesive and the mission unaccomplished. I have witness firsthand here at West Point many unfair decisions that were made solely out of how much someone liked or hated the person they were dealing with. One such example that comes to mind is when one cadet was given preferential treatment and allowed to get off morning workouts, while other cadets had to continue. The physical development staff of my company forces any cadet with an APFT score of less than 260 to show up to morning workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week. Harper and co workers have reported citrullinemia in the Friesian cattle breed (Friesian are a breed of dairy cattle identical to the Holstein breed commonly used in the United States) in Australia. Bovine citrullinemia was not a useful marker for milk, fat and protein production because 1) the frequency of the defective allele was low and 2) within family differences was non significant between normal and heterozygous half sisters (Roger, 1998). Pathogenesis: Citrullinemia is an inborn error of metabolism due to a deficiency of the urea cycle enzyme argininosuccinate synthetase. The affected animals have liver AS mRNA levels at less than 5% of controls due to a single base pair mutation (Dennis, 1989). This metabolic disorder was first identified in humans and later in dogs and Friesian calves (Odalys, 2009). Argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS, EC 6.3.4.5) is a urea cycle enzyme which is expressed at high levels in the liver. The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of citrulline, aspartate, and ATP to yield argininosuccinate, the immediate precursor of arginine (Husson, 2003).
