History Of The Cherokee Indians
`The Cherokee Indians were a very modern group of Native Americans; they had successfully blended
into the American way of life. For example, they made their government like the American way,
translated the Bible, and even used American rules for owning property. Life for the Cherokee nation
seemed to be going well, but in 1832 they would have to fight for their land. Gold was discovered in
Georgia, so Georgians wanted to force the Cherokee Indians out, so they would have more gold. The
Cherokee Indians fought in a nonviolent way; they sued. In Worcester v. Georgia (1832), which
followed a similar case from the ear before, Cherokee, Georgia, the Supreme Court ruled that the
Cherokee nation was a sovereign nation and that the state of Georgia

Pathological Consideration Of Acute Chest Pain Essay
PATHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATION OF ACUTE CHEST PAIN
Chest pain is among the most every now and again assessed introducing complaints in the emergency
department (ED). Diagnostic etiologies range from benign to life debilitating. Inability to diagnose the
life debilitating chest emergencies can prompt to catastrophic medical and legal results for the patient
and physician separately (Boie, 2005).
The first approach to assessing chest pain incorporates excluding life threatening reasons, which for
the most part incorporate (1)coronary artery disease (Kettunen and Talvensaari ,2009) (2)acute aortic
syndrome (AAS) (3)pulmonary embolism (PE) (4)esophageal rupture (5)tension pneumothorax and
(6)pericardial tamponade (Butler and Swencki, 2006). I Pathology of Pulmonary embolism (PE):
As the third most common reason of cardiovascular death after myocardial ischemia and stroke,
pulmonary embolism (PE) is a conceivably fatal condition connected with significant morbidity and
mortality (Araoz et al., 2007).
PE and DVT are two clinical presentations of venous thrombo embolism and offer the same
predisposing factors. In many cases PE is a result of DVT (Pitts et al., 2008).
Thrombi generally form in the deep veins of the calf and after that propagate into the proximal veins,
including and above the popliteal veins, from which they will properly embolize. Around 79% of
patients who present with pulmonary embolism have

Antibiotic Resistance
Introduction
This article is about the determination of Antibiotic resistance that relies on the fitness effects of
resistance elements in the absence of antibiotics. Angst and Hall tentatively developed rifampicin
resistant and delicate Escherichia coli in drug free environment, before measuring the impacts of new
resistance components on fitness in antibiotic free conditions. Streptomycin resistance changes had
little fitness impacts in rifampicin resistant genotypes that had adjusts to antibiotic free environment ,
contrasted with the same genotypes without acclimatization. They watched a comparative impact
when resistance was encoded by a plasmid. Antibiotic sensitive microorganisms that acclimated to the
same conditions indicated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Resistant microorganisms obtain extra helpful changes throughout advancement without antibiotic s
that don t modify resistance straightforwardly however may change the fitness impacts of new
resistance transformations (Angst and Hall, 2013). It is critical that researchers study this theme on the
grounds that fitness impacts of resistance transformations frequently fluctuate relying upon the
vicinity of other resistance changes on the same genome. Furthermore, it is likewise essential to study
this issue so as to minimize the development of microbes into antibiotic resistant superbugs that could
conceivably make a worldwide health crisis.
Methods
The researchers theory is that antibiotic resistance goes through extra valuable transformations
throughout development without antibiotic s that don t adjust resistance specifically however may
change the fitness impacts of new resistance changes. They saw that later work prescribes: fitness
impacts of resistance transformations regularly differ relying upon the vicinity of other resistance
changes on the same genome, yet they also realized that, resistance evolution will frequently be joined
by the obsession of fixation of additional mutations that don t argue resistance however expand fitnes.
One experiment that they did to test their hypothesis was to tentatively advance

Declaration Of The Rights Of Man Essay
Many revolutionaries and peasants insist on revoking Article 17 of the Declaration of the Rights of
Man, which declares that property is a sacred and inviolable right. The National Assembly has already
seized and sold much of the land of the Catholic Church, and even peasants have taken thousands of
manor houses. The most extreme and wild radicals seek to eliminate all rights to property. If these
radicals and revolutionaries succeed in eliminating a right to property and in confiscating all of the
wealth in France, they will eventually cripple France s intellectual creativity. Furthermore, France will
resemble the horrific and savage state which Rousseau cherishes because famine, disease, and
stagnation will ensue. Revolutionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Burke notes that Title 1 of the pending constitution guarantees the inviolability of property or a just
and prior indemnity for that of which a legally established public necessity may demand the sacrifice.
How can the inviolability of property possibly be reconciled with the National Assembly grabbing the
lands of the nobility and the Catholic Church? Burke also goes on to wonder what will happen next if
the state begins to take away one institution or person s property. In his writing, Burke states It is not
the confiscation of our church property from this example in France that I dread, though I think this
would be no trifling evil. The great source of my solicitude is, lest it should ever be considered in
England as the policy of a state, to seek a resource in confiscations of any kind; or that any one
description of citizens should be brought to regard any of the others as their proper prey. Revolutions
and their radicals are favourable to confiscation, while government is needed to subdue men s
passions, including their greed for the property of

British Politician Polarized Opinion Like Margaret Thatcher
No British politician polarized opinion like Margaret Thatcher did. Loved and hated in equal measure,
she dominated the political landscape for fifteen years, first as Leader of the Opposition and the
Leader of the Conservative Party, and then as Prime Minister. Strengthened by her ideas, she had a
vision for the United Kingdom, one that put it back on recovery and destroyed the socialist state
established by the Post War consensus. She took on the image of the Iron Lady and fought for
economic and political freedom around the world. Her new approach and personal style revolutionized
not just Britain, but in fact, the entire world. Margaret Hilda Thatcher (née Roberts) was born October
13, 1925 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without a doubt, Margaret Thatcher was an incredibly intelligent woman, earning the spot of Head
Girl at her local grammar school and later attending Oxford University, where she studied research
chemistry. Because Margaret Thatcher was a woman though, she was unable to attend the famed
Oxford political debates, and became discontent with the Conservative establishment. As she wrote in
her diary, these Conservatives seem to hate Capitalism! Regardless of her frustrations though, she
fascinated her peers at the Oxford Conservatives Association with her writings and in 1946, they
elected her as one of the first female Presidents of the organization; a prelude to the 1975 leadership
contest. Graduating the following year in 1947, Thatcher began a career in chemistry, meanwhile
studying for the bar in her spare time. In 1949, Thatcher made her first political run in the Labour held
seat of Dartford. Previous Conservative candidates hobnobbed only with the elite of Dartford, but
Thatcher took an entirely different approach. Foreshadowing her strategy in the 1979 general election,
she instead went to the poorer parts of town; spoke with the common people, and began relating with
them. The strategy worked, cutting the Labour lead in half, but failed to provide Thatcher with a
victory. Trying repeatedly in 1950 and 1951, she still could not win the election. While in pursuit of a
Parliamentary seat, she met an affluent executive, Denis Thatcher.

The Not Neutral Net Neutrality
The Not So Neutral Net Neutrality
Andrew Powers

Abstract
Net Neutrality stands to define the future of internet. I will discuss the pros and cons, the different
perspectives on the subject, the effects on providers (such as Netflix) and consumers, and some of the
future implications of this contentious issue. Net Neutrality is one of the defining struggles of what
role technology and information will play in our future. What regulations should there be on internet
freedom, censorship and the free market? There are many rivaling interests between various
companies, consumers and the government. The military s reliance upon internet resources means we
will have to adapt to this emergent problem as it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There has been a recent push by several ISPs to give them the freedom to choose how and what data is
allowed to flow through their networks. There are several arguments for and against this line of
thinking. Should the internet remain the way it has been, or does it need to change?
Pros for Change
There are many reasons the ISPs and others have given that argue for a need to change. The internet
has certainly changed over the years, it would make some sense that things will have to evolve and
change with it.
There are some internet services that consume disproportionate amounts of bandwidth. The obvious
example is Netflix. During peak hours of internet usage, Netflix stands head and shoulders above
other applications. In 2013 CNET reported that Netflix was 31% of the total downstream traffic. This
means that Netflix alone accounts for almost a third of all internet traffic during peak times. The strain
upon ISPs to provide the necessary infrastructure to support the high bandwidth of video and audio
streaming is a big argument for a change to Net Neutrality. This change has already been observed, as
ISPs have effectively charged Netflix a premium in order to allow Netflix to reach its customers
without crippling throttling. The below is from Sandvine, who is a Canadian ISP. They tracked the
bandwidth usages during peak hours and came up with these startling findings.
Another big consumer of internet bandwidth is YouTube.

Home Mortgage Refinance Research Paper
A home mortgage refinance can be a sound financial decision in many circumstances. This is
especially the case when interest rates are attractive. There are several factors that should be
considered when making the decision to refinance; however.
When you first purchased your home and took out your mortgage, you probably looked at interest
rates, terms and fees. When you decide to take advantage of a home mortgage refinance, you need to
consider these factors as well as a few others. For example, you should take into consideration the
amount of money that is left remaining on the balance of your mortgage. This is important because
ultimately the amount of money you will be able to refinance will be based on the amount of money
that you have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you only have five years left on your mortgage, it may not make good financial sense to refinance
because you would be extending the payment on your mortgage beyond that time frame in most cases.
Unless you are facing dire circumstances, it would usually be best to remain in the first mortgage. If;
however, you have more than five years left on your mortgage there are numerous advantages to a
home mortgage refinance including the ability to tap into your equity and lower monthly mortgage
payments.
You should also make sure you check your credit rating before you pursue refinancing your home. As
you are probably aware, your credit rating had a tremendous impact on your ability to qualify for your
first mortgage. The same can be said of a home mortgage refinance. To get the best rates possible, you
wan to make sure that your credit report is accurate.
Many people make the decision to refinance their mortgages because they are either having a difficult
financial time or they want to pay off higher interest bills with a lower interest home equity loan. A
home mortgage refinance can be a good solution which will allow you to consolidate all of those bills
into a single loan with a lower interest rate. You will be able to save money each month and then start
with a fresh clean financial

Analysis Of You Got No Jams
To depreciate diversity or encourage putting down others has never crossed my mind as right in any
circumstance. Throughout my life, I have seen people despise others for the most miniscule reasons
such as the way they think their worldviews, and even for how ugly/pretty they are. As a result, people
will give that person a negative label as if that persons other qualities don t matter. Putting labels on
people also causes wearisome divisions among people by color, socioeconomic class, and various
other groups. The fact that people exploit the privilege to quickly judge others was found in my article
and in the deep meaning of the You Got No Jams phrase. This is why I chose this particular message
for my multi genre portfolio.

A Woman Under The Influence
A Woman Under the Influence is an American dramatic film that was written in an entangled way to
illustrate a story. The auteur John Cassavetes wrote and directed this film that was released in
November of 1974. Cassavetes spent most of his career creating films that were more off the grid ; A
Woman Under the Influence is a prime example considering there was no other American film quite
comparable to it. This was a rare film because the internal fluctuations effectively allowed formulating
of the primary configurations. John Cassavetes rejected the elements and techniques of the American
movie and created his own method (LoBrutto). Cassavetes is known to be the pioneer of American
independent film. Independent filmmaking is difficult to establish an exact definition mostly because
it does not follow a set of specific guidelines. Conversely independent films are commonly designated
to be character driven, and these were the films that frequently had an extremely low budget. A
Woman Under the Influence and some of Cassavetes other films demonstrate in a similar form of
bstylistic characterizations of post World War II European film. Independent filmmakers typically
viewed their films as a film as an art form or as a business film. Nonetheless Cassavetes undoubtedly
viewed his films as a form of art.
The film opens with typical events any average family would endure. Gena Rowland starring as,

Patrice Lumumba Essay
More than Words
Since the late 1800 s, almost all of Africa had been under European colonial rule, but this changed
drastically in 1960. Sixteen African nations gained their independence that year, including the former
Belgian Congo, which became the Democratic Republic of the Congo on June 30. One of the key
personalities that made this possible was Patrice Lumumba, who experienced widespread support in
gaining independence and became the first Prime Minister of the DROC. However, he lost much of
this support once he was in office, and lasted fewer than 200 days. Lumumba s ability to communicate
was a key reason for his success and failure.

In July of 1956, Lumumba was sentenced to two years imprisonment for embezzling $2,520 from the
post office for the Association des Evolués. After the Association returned the money, Lumumba s
sentence was reduced to 12 months, which began his career as a prisoner, leaving and re entering the
prison system for the next five years. During his 1956 1957 imprisonment, Lumumba wrote Congo,
My Congo, 200 pages to make a contribution towards the search for a solution for the present and
future problems of the Congo (Lumumba 7). Because this book was not published until after
Lumumba s death, it did not have an impact on the independence movement, but the views Lumumba
wrote about certainly did.
In Congo, My Country, Lumumba explains that one of the main reasons Europeans should not have
control of the Congolese is that the Europeans do not understand the African way. Lumumba attributes
this to the instinctive mistrust of the Congolese for the white man (Lumumba 8). Baldwin writes about
similar problems in the United States, on an entirely different continent under different circumstances.
In Notes of a Native Son, Baldwin writes about his father s mistrust for white people, which he at first
ignores, but later understands after a first hand encounter in New Jersey. While Baldwin s personal
experience was in a restaurant, his father s warning came from years of unfair treatment and,
undoubtedly,

Social Injustice In If You Come Softly, By Jacqueline Woodson
Different is Unique
Social injustice affects many people around the world. Race, religion, class, gender, and sexual
orientation are all apart of social injustice, outside characteristics are the first thing one is judged
upon. Today in society people get judged and dehumanized everyday, because they are looked at first
by their outside characteristics. In the realistic fiction books If You Come Softly by Jacqueline
Woodson, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne, and Miracle s boys also by Jacqueline
Woodson the authors demonstrate that social injustice can occur when individuals are viewed by only
their outward characteristics and beliefs.

The Argument For God s Existence And Nature
Question 2
In part IX of Hume s Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion, Deamea, the orthodox Christian,
confronts Philo s skepticism towards the arguments for God s existence and nature that have thus far
be discussed. Deamea presents a version of the ontological argument that he believes should provide
undeniable proof of the truths found in religious dogma. However, Philo is not convinced with this
argument because of the nature of the argument. Philo describes Deamea s ontological argument as an
a priori argument. In Latin a priori is means from before but when this term is used in philosophy it is
meant to mean from before experience. These kinds of arguments are arguments that anyone can come
to see as being true from the comfort of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These arguments argue for something through the use of empirical evidence. An example of a
posteriori knowledge would be the statement, Barack Obama is the current president of the United
States. This is an example of empirical information that cannot be proven through reason alone. The
different viewpoints between a priori and a posteriori arguments can be seen in works for Thomas
Aquinas and Anselm of Canterbury. Both Saints believe that God is self evident. However, Aquinas
uses a priori arguments and Anselm uses an a priori argument. I believe that Aquinas does not reject
Anselm s argument because it is a priori. Aquinas issues with Anselm s argument lies in Anselm s
misuse of his definition of God and humanity s inability to understand this definition. In his
ontological argument, Anselm defines God as that than which nothing greater can be thought.
According to Aquinas, this is where the main issue lies in Anselm s argument. Aquinas believes that
everyone must have the same concept of God in order for Anselm s definition of God to work. Not

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge
The Bridge to the Other Side Caleb E. Jameson South Umpqua High school Author Note This paper
was written for Writing 121, Mrs Fye The San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge is a monument of
human abilities, goals, and accomplishments. It is beautiful and a huge tourist attraction for many
people inside and outside of the area. To some it is a symbol of their heritage and ancestors success;
To some it is just inspiring to look at; To others it s a landmark to mourn over, because of loved ones
that were stricken with grief and couldn t handle it anymore. That s right, this marvelous work of art is

What does this suicide proofing the bridge do for the world? It Might prevent a few deaths. Since the
bridge was made in 1937 1,500 people have died on it. In the last War America was part of over 4,000
soldiers died. Over twice as many deaths in less than seven times as many years (70 years). Why don t
we use the 15 million dollars to research and develop better equipment for the soldiers; giving up their
lives for the fools taking theirs, on the Golden gate bridge? Because the government is just as ignorant
as the suicide victims . Most would agree that the site is amazing and breathtaking to see after the first
or the thousandth time. What do you think a bunch of nets and rails are going to do that view? It is
going to change the work of art into something different, something it wasn t made to be in the
beginning . The bridge stood tall for years without major changes and it is still doing just fine to this
very day. Honestly suicide proofing the bridge doesn t help anything or anyone. Those who want to
commit suicide and have at least one brain cell know that there are other methods. Anything can be
used as a weapon, ranging from scissors to a heights/concrete duo. Only3% of the suicides committed
in the bay area were actually done on the golden gate bridge. Another popular spot to hang out was the
bay bridge which is very close to the Golden gate bridge. Fixing the bridge is not only pointless but in

Why Is Child Labour Wrong
You may think that trouble with child labor laws is a thing of the past, but in fact these issues are
worse than ever. Even in America, a well developed country, these problems are still a struggle to
many American children and their families. American kids are not the only ones who have to go
through this. Child labor is active all around the world. These kids go off to their ten hour work day
while their family stands by and watches. What a shame that anyone would even hire them in the first
place. Children who are forced into the workforce come from any background. It is mainly an issue
for families who are lower income and the parents cannot support the family, so the kids get jobs.
About 168 million children worldwide (100 million boys and 68 million girls) are stuck in child labor.
This accounts for about 11% of the overall child population. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The obvious one is just general child labor. In America, the Fair Labor Standards Act was passed in
1938. These laws set up fair standards and said that child labor was unjust. Employers have found a
loophole that congress has not yet closed and they are using that as an excuse to use child labor. Child
labor also takes away the children s rights to safety and a good education. Hazardous work is most
common with adolescents in agriculture and industry. They are exposed to dangerous equipment and
in some cases even disease. Also, how can the child get a good education if they are working ten hours
a day? Especially considering a normal workday is eight

grow their popularity in the United Kingdom. Their first primary hit Love Me Do led to such a great
popularity that they kept recording albums such as Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, and Let It Be. Over
time, The Beatles became the Best Selling Band In History with over 800 million albums sold.

It is widely applied to the hydrogels as biomaterials. Mixtures of Dimethylsulfoxide and water have

[1]. Polymer solvent interaction affects significantly the physical and chemical properties of polymer
solutions. Formations of co solvents play an important role on the preferential adsorption phenomenon
of the solution properties of a ternary system of co non solvency which relates the molecular
interaction. Tacx et al. [2] explains the different affinity between the two solvents and PVA. Water
could only be a moderate good solvent for low molecular weight PVA, the formation of aggregates
occurs easily and PVA completely dissolved in DMSO and forms the solutions. The chemical
structure, the dipole moments and the donor acceptor properties of each component could clarify these
molecular interactions which changes with the compositions of the solvent mixture and the formation
of a third component i.e., co solvent complex. The dilute PVA/DMSO/water solution would give rise
to various phenomena of preferential adsorption coefficient [3].

Stylistic Devices In Angel Islington s Cathedral
Stylistic Devices
Diction:
As Angel Islington dreams about the fall of Atlantis, he remembered that the huge waves were rising
and crashing over the city; the night sky was rent with forks of white lightning... the city trembled;
fires started near the great amphitheater and spread, quickly, through the city, defying the storm
(Gaiman 271). In Islington s strong diction such as crashing, trembled , defying it emphasizes the
terror and fear in the people as they watch their home collapse. Also, when watching the sky being
pierced with with white lightning and the fire defying nature, illustrates a suspenseful, fearful and
confusing tone in the Atlantean people and the readers because when first meeting the angel, he was
depicted as an ally to Door and Richard. Yet this passage reveals Islington watching from above as
Atlantis sinks beneath the waves adding a suspense and confusion tone that the angel may not be who
he says he is .

Theories Of Sales Promotion
CHAPTER3
THEORETICAL
BACKGROUND
Rapid Growth of Sales Promotion:
Sales promotion tools are used by most organizations, including manufacturers, distributors, retailers,
and not for profit institutions. They are targeted toward final buyers (consumer promotions), retailers
and wholesalers (trade promotion). Today, in the average consumer packaged company, sales
promotion accounts for 74 percent of all marketing expenditures. Several factors have contributed to
the rapid growth of sales promotion, particularly in consumer market. First, inside the company
manager face greater pressures to increase their current sales, and promotion is viewed as an effective
short run sales tool. Second, externally, the company faces more competition and competing brands
are less differentiated. Increasingly efficiency has declined because of rising costs, media clutter, and
legal restraints. Finally, consumers have become more deal oriented, and ever larger retailers are
demanding more deals from manufacture. In developing a sales promotion program, a company must
first set sales promotion objectives and then select the best tools for accomplishing these objectives.
Objectives of Sales promotion:

In his essay America Needs Its Nerds , author Leonid Fridman discusses the stigma against so called
nerds and how these nerds are essential to America in keeping up with other countries. He does this
providing several examples. However, this essay is ultimately weak because of the broadness of his
examples, as well as the overarching strawman he creates to represent society . By relying solely on
these examples, he creates a very simple one sided argument To begin the essay, Fridman states that
our society is one which has only derogatory terms like nerd and geek for the intellectually curious
and academically serious (lines 2 4). As a broad statement, this holds true. However, in the context of
having a living person with a brain being the audience, this crumbles. Nerd and geek defined by

Essay On Bias Court Cases
Biased Court Cases The Supreme Court s decisions cause numerous amounts of controversy due to
ignorance of racial balance, especially during the era of slavery and in three specific cases. At this
point, slavery and segregation was a large problem. Colored people were not treated equally and were
slaves, yet not even in court were they treated equally. These people were convicted of crimes with
little to no evidence just because of their race. The Supreme Court s decisions cause numerous
amounts of controversy, especially during the era of slavery, making these three cases influential
because the controlled views of the nation are seen through the court, so whatever the court sees is
what the nation views, and in a find example, three specific cases: the first case is Dred Scott v.
Sanford (1857), the second case is Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), and the third case is Swann v. Charlotte

How Does Steinbeck Create Tension in of Mice and Men in...
The tension that Steinbeck creates in chapter six is very prominent; there are moments of peace and
moments of despair. The first case in which Steinbeck creates tension is at the very beginning of the
first chapter where the reader can hear peace. It is only after reading chapter six that the reader on
hindsight can compare the peacefulness in the first chapter to the tension in the last chapter, this
creates tension as the reader is now well aware that one of Steinbeck s narrative techniques is that the
movement goes from harmony to discord. Steinbeck also uses pathetic fallacy, figurative and
colloquial language to build the tension in the readers mind.
The tension in chapter six rises when the reader finds out that the setting in the ... Show more content

Another way in which Steinbeck uses strong verbs and adjectives is in the phrase jacked its way clear
of the water which implies force; ironically a heron is a very delicate bird, whereas these incident
show violence. These short simple sentences complement the absurdity of the event, which quickly
builds the momentum of tension in chapter six.
Tension is also built when the reader finds out how opposite things are happening to Lennie. His
clumsy body language signals the tension to the reader. Steinbeck uses words like quietly to make the
reader think that it is as though he knows he has done something wrong. Lennies body language can
be shown through the way he drinks the water as he kneels down in chapter six, instead of drinking
like a horse in chapter one. We find this to be very different to the Lennie we met in chapter one. As
Lennie is trying to process the problem we can assume that he feels guilty for what he has done.
Tension in the novel again rises when there is a conversation between Lennie, his aunt Clara and a
gigantic rabbit . Let alone everything we see to show the workings of Lennies mind, we can still tell
that his mind is childlike if he is having imagery of a gigantic talking rabbit . The hallucinations that
Lennie has shows that his mind is slowly breaking making the atmosphere more tense. Steinbeck very
intelligently shows the dying of day through the lengthening shadows and that darkness is taking over.

Vagueness, Ambiguity In Critical Thinking
Teo Camy 4) Explain the concept of vagueness, ambiguity, over generality and definition as used in
critical thinking. Provide examples. Based on Oxford dictionary, the definition of vague is uncertain,
indefinite, or unclear character or meaning (Oxford Dictionaries, n.d.). Vagueness in critical thinking
is an unclear situation with insufficient details given. For example, if we were asked to describe one
particular person who we met for the first time, we will describe looking for the person. He is a tall
man, skinny but little fat, with black pupils . These characteristics are not going to give an image of
that person to others because these features are too common and there are no specific detailed features
being described. Another simple example of vagueness is there are many people in the concert last
night . The statement stated that there are a lot of people, but it does not give any image of how many
people exactly or approximately that attend the concert. Furthermore, another example of sentence

(Individual) Critical Thinking is a compulsory subject which most students have to study when they
reach university level. The question is why do students have to study this particular subject? In my
opinion, it is because employers in the current market will be looking for thinking skills in university
graduates, with many seeing it as criteria to have these skills while they are choosing their employees.
Many may ask, what is critical thinking? Chaffee defined critical thinking as a purposeful, organized
cognitive process that we use to understand the world and make informed decisions. In simple words,
critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. Generally, critical thinking skill has been
regarded as one of the most essential living skills in life. The question is how critical thinking skill
would help us in real life and to what

Thomas Hardy Neutral Tones Essay
Neutral Tones by Thomas Hardy conveys the deceiving nature of love through metaphor, the symbolic
environment in which the poem takes place, oxymoron and poetic sound devices. Among Hardy s
pessimistic poems, Neutral Tones is one of the most acclaimed. At the heart of the sixteen line poem
with an ABBA rhyme scheme, he encounters the demise of a once loving relationship. The former
promising love that he shared with his partner has dissolved into bitterness and its effects leave him
devastated and hopeless. Although the title hints that the author is trying to take a neutral stance on the
situation, his word choice and use of figurative language does not indicate it. The only neutrality
present in the poem is the description of the cold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(9 12). The smile on your mouth was the deadest thing is a shocking statement to make on the smile of
a formerly beloved person because it doesn t maintain neutrality like the author tries to keep (9). The
cold gesture of a grin of bitterness shows how the bond and connection that they once shared has
disappeared (11). Her presence is also causing him great suffering and is deemed a bad omen like an
ominous bird (12). Hardy implies that the people that we end up loving the most are the ones that
bring us the most pain. The final quatrain highlights a depressing state of mind through assonance and
alliteration. Words like keen , deceives , me , tree , and leaves exhibit the assonance of the ee sound.
Although Hardy tries to keep a neutral opinion of his experience of love, beneath the surface, the
reader is aware of the inner emotional turmoil that the author has experienced. By the end his ex
lovers face and winter are now a constant reminder of how deceiving love can be. The reader is left
with the knowledge that all love that ends usually leaves behind a depressing state of mind and

Argumentative Essay On Food Deserts
Eradicating food deserts has definitely become a significant issue in food and nutrition guidelines and
programs across the entire nation. As part of her Let s Move! campaign, Michelle Obama was a huge
advocate for this and aimed on eliminating food deserts within seven years in the United States
(Corapi). To achieve this goal, accurate definitions and the identification of the numerous food deserts
are certainly required. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), food
deserts are areas that lack access to affordable fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk, and other
foods that make up a full and healthy diet (CDC Features). This is largely due to a lack of grocery
stores, farmers markets, and healthy food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a New York Times article, Michelle Obama once stated, In so many neighborhoods, if
people want to buy a head of lettuce or salad or some fruit for their kid s lunch, they have to take two
or three buses, maybe pay for a taxicab, in order to do it (Kolata). She was referring to the food deserts
in the several low income neighborhoods within the city of Chicago. Mrs. Obama has also advocated
in getting schools to serve healthier lunches, as part to reduce childhood obesity within these
neighborhoods. Studies done in the past have shown that limited access to healthy food and rather
easier access to less nutritious food may be linked to poor diets and, ultimately, to obesity and diet
related diseases. Even when these food deserts do have access to nearby convenience stores, it tends to
be either overpriced or low quality food, which carry mostly processed foods that offer little to no
nutritional value, when compared to the food and products that supermarkets have to offer. Adding on
to this, those who depend on food stamps also have limited options when it comes to nutritious food.
This makes it even harder for these people to live a healthy affordable

First Real Hockey
I remember the first day I ever stepped on the ice rink, when I was eight years old. I could barely skate
two steps without tumbling down to the cold ice. Eventually, with many hours a week of practice, I
was cutting divots into the ice with my skates and spraying snow when I stopped. When I was eleven
years old, I played as the only girl on my first real hockey team. My heart was one hundred percent in
the game. However, many people did not understand my passion. They questioned how petite girl
could play such a physically aggressive sport. Yet, I never let their comments phase me. Since that
year, I have continued playing hockey but mostly on girls teams. On my girls team, I was a captain of
an under fourteen team for two years, and for the

Essay on The Four Main Stages of Business
A growing business will cycle through four major stages in its development. Evolving from a one
person operation to a multi department company has its challenges and rewards. In this paper, it will
be described how each of the four stages a business may pass through will affect it. The four stages of
a business life are as follow. In stage one, the business is being created and is operated often with only
one person. Stage two, organization growth, structure and employee management can be observed.
Stage three, owner s delegation of certain powers takes place. Finally, stage four, being the creation of
a more structured business, which entails the creation of policies and procedures.
In the first phase of the creation of the business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the business grows, the owner s focus will have to change from overseeing the day to day
operations to focusing on getting investors and funding and potentially developing new products or
services. As I said earlier, since the proprietor will have staff, he/she will need experienced manager to
help them focus on the core operations of the business as said by William Weirsema: The founder
should realize that he or she can t possibly be the best in the company at everything from marketing to
finances. Functions that can t justify a full time expert should be outsourced to professionals that
specialize. Possibilities include information systems, accounting, human resources, marketing, and
engineering. Hiring a chief operating officer is usually advisable. (1999). Hiring qualified staff and
manager will help the business become more successful.
The fourth stage of business happens when the business has almost reached its full expansion. It is the
stage where the owner has to make decisions on policies, code of conduct for personnel, job
descriptions as well as internal control policies just to name a few. It is also the stage where the owner
will have to decide what type of departmentation they want their organization to use. Whether it is by
project, by function or by matrix this will help the business being more efficient. Also, the founder
will have to decide whether its business should be centralized or

The Law Of Unfair Terms Of Consumer Contracts
The law of unfair terms in consumer contracts have experienced changes over the years, the most
significant of which was the Consumer Rights Act which came into effect on October 1st 2015.
However, before the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA 2015), unfair terms in consumer contracts were
covered under two pieces of legislation; the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977(UCTA 1977) and the
Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 (UTCCR 1999) . The UCTA 1977 and
UTCCR 1999 provided liability for transactions occurring in the course of a business as well as
business and consumer contracts. Both UCTA 1977 and UTCCR 1999 provided protection for
consumers from terms in a contract so as to prevent them from being at a disadvantage for not read
contractual terms and conditions. The UCTA 1977 defined a consumer under s.12 (1) (a); as a party
dealing not in the course of a business and not holding himself to do so; while in s12 (1) (b) the other
party is acting in the course of a business. The UTCCR s definition was very narrow, Regulation 3
stated that a consumer must be a natural person that is not a legal person e.g. a company who contracts
outside his business.
The UCTA 1977 was a primary legislative whereas the UTCCR 1999 are an implementation of the
European Court s Directive on Unfair terms in Consumer Contracts. Both the UCTA and UTCCR
covered nearly all forms of contracts and one of their most important functions was limiting the
applicability of

Reasons Of The Deterioration Of Mughal Empires
The Declination of the Mughals Empire Basically, the main reason that can be the factors of the
deterioration and destruction of a government is that the lack of unity among the communities itself.
The unity among the people in particular race or civilian is crucial in order to maintain the stability of
the government. In the other words, solidarity between citizens is the core element in order to ensure
the integrity of a government. In the historical world, there are numbers of the great empires. But, the
collapse of a government is becoming a norm to be confronted. There will be no empire in this world
will stand still forever and there is no exception for the Mughal Empire of India. Mughal empire is a
great government that governs an enormous region. As a general, the Mughal empire was dominated
and ruled India for about 150 years. Since Mughal empire is one of the greatest empire on that time,

others on that time. However, the ruler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

power. All of them would like to be the ruler at that time. Actually, the first six Mughal Emperors from
Babar to Aurangzeb are the greatest Mughals. The maturity, efficiency and the expedience of these
previous emperors are the main reason why they can establish and sustain the greatness of the empire.
The Emperors after the administration of Aurangzeb are called as latter Mughals. All the successors
after the Aurangzeb are worthless man. They did nothing to strengthen the empire and they became

The Success Of Michael Vick
Another reason Michael Vick rebuilt his image after the dog fighting scandal of 2007 was that he
helped develop the Animal Fighting Speculation Prohibition Act. One way he did that was helping
craft the future to prevent dog fighting. Once Vick and a few others came up with the idea, they
brought it to Wayne Pacelle, the president of the Humane Society. We saw a great opportunity for me
to come to Capitol Hill and draw attention to some of the inadequate animal welfare laws (Vick). Vick
was eight years old when he saw his first dog fight. Back then, police would come break up the fights,
but no one would be arrested. Vick wanted to change that.

For instance, Philadelphia Eagles fans had mixed reactions with Vick s signing. Some supported him,
and others were very upset. For example, the owner of a sandwich shop vowed to never serve Vick
food (Vick). Vick didn t let this bother him, because he just had to keep going. Also, protesters in
Philadelphia didn t want the Eagles to sign quarterback Michael Vick, because he was a convicted
felon ( Protester Again ). Vick new this and used it as fuel to work as hard as he could on and off the
field to prove those people wrong. Vick wanted people to know that he was not only going to talk the
talk, but he was going to walk the walk as well (Vick). One night, after Vick had a meeting with James
Dubose, who was producing a documentary on him, a reporter/sports writer followed him onto the
elevator. He asked Vick what he ate, if he had any drinks, and who he was talking to. He did this all to
try to expose him violating his probation (Vick). Vick was disturbed by this, because it meant that
some people hated him so much that they would go that far out of their way just to get rid of him.
Andy Reid, the Eagles coach at the time, took particular interest in Vick s recovery because he had
two sons imprisoned in 2007 for drug abuse. He knew what it was like seeing all those men in prison
throwing their lives away. Vick received advice and help from Coach

  • 2. History Of The Cherokee Indians `The Cherokee Indians were a very modern group of Native Americans; they had successfully blended into the American way of life. For example, they made their government like the American way, translated the Bible, and even used American rules for owning property. Life for the Cherokee nation seemed to be going well, but in 1832 they would have to fight for their land. Gold was discovered in Georgia, so Georgians wanted to force the Cherokee Indians out, so they would have more gold. The Cherokee Indians fought in a nonviolent way; they sued. In Worcester v. Georgia (1832), which followed a similar case from the ear before, Cherokee, Georgia, the Supreme Court ruled that the Cherokee nation was a sovereign nation and that the state of Georgia ... Diagnostic etiologies range from benign to life debilitating. Inability to diagnose the life debilitating chest emergencies can prompt to catastrophic medical and legal results for the patient and physician separately (Boie, 2005). The first approach to assessing chest pain incorporates excluding life threatening reasons, which for the most part incorporate (1)coronary artery disease (Kettunen and Talvensaari ,2009) (2)acute aortic syndrome (AAS) (3)pulmonary embolism (PE) (4)esophageal rupture (5)tension pneumothorax and (6)pericardial tamponade (Butler and Swencki, 2006). I Pathology of Pulmonary embolism (PE): As the third most common reason of cardiovascular death after myocardial ischemia and stroke, pulmonary embolism (PE) is a conceivably fatal condition connected with significant morbidity and mortality (Araoz et al., 2007). PE and DVT are two clinical presentations of venous thrombo embolism and offer the same predisposing factors. In many cases PE is a result of DVT (Pitts et al., 2008). Declaration Of The Rights Of Man Essay Many revolutionaries and peasants insist on revoking Article 17 of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which declares that property is a sacred and inviolable right. The National Assembly has already seized and sold much of the land of the Catholic Church, and even peasants have taken thousands of manor houses. The most extreme and wild radicals seek to eliminate all rights to property. Burke also goes on to wonder what will happen next if the state begins to take away one institution or person s property. In his writing, Burke states It is not the confiscation of our church property from this example in France that I dread, though I think this would be no trifling evil. The great source of my solicitude is, lest it should ever be considered in England as the policy of a state, to seek a resource in confiscations of any kind; or that any one description of citizens should be brought to regard any of the others as their proper prey. She took on the image of the Iron Lady and fought for economic and political freedom around the world. Foreshadowing her strategy in the 1979 general election, she instead went to the poorer parts of town; spoke with the common people, and began relating with them. The strategy worked, cutting the Labour lead in half, but failed to provide Thatcher with a victory. Trying repeatedly in 1950 and 1951, she still could not win the election. Net Neutrality is one of the defining struggles of what role technology and information will play in our future. What regulations should there be on internet freedom, censorship and the free market? There has been a recent push by several ISPs to give them the freedom to choose how and what data is allowed to flow through their networks. There are several arguments for and against this line of thinking. Should the internet remain the way it has been, or does it need to change? Pros for Change There are many reasons the ISPs and others have given that argue for a need to change. The internet has certainly changed over the years, it would make some sense that things will have to evolve and change with it. There are some internet services that consume disproportionate amounts of bandwidth. The obvious example is Netflix. During peak hours of internet usage, Netflix stands head and shoulders above other applications. In 2013 CNET reported that Netflix was 31% of the total downstream traffic. This means that Netflix alone accounts for almost a third of all internet traffic during peak times. The strain upon ISPs to provide the necessary infrastructure to support the high bandwidth of video and audio streaming is a big argument for a change to Net Neutrality. This change has already been observed, as ISPs have effectively charged Netflix a premium in order to allow Netflix to reach its customers without crippling throttling. The below is from Sandvine, who is a Canadian ISP. They tracked the bandwidth usages during peak hours and came up with these startling findings. Another big consumer of internet bandwidth is YouTube. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. A Woman Under The Influence A Woman Under the Influence is an American dramatic film that was written in an entangled way to illustrate a story. The auteur John Cassavetes wrote and directed this film that was released in November of 1974. Cassavetes spent most of his career creating films that were more off the grid ; A Woman Under the Influence is a prime example considering there was no other American film quite comparable to it. This was a rare film because the internal fluctuations effectively allowed formulating of the primary configurations. John Cassavetes rejected the elements and techniques of the American movie and created his own method (LoBrutto). Cassavetes is known to be the pioneer of American independent film. Independent filmmaking is difficult to establish an exact definition mostly because it does not follow a set of specific guidelines. Conversely independent films are commonly designated to be character driven, and these were the films that frequently had an extremely low budget. A Woman Under the Influence and some of Cassavetes other films demonstrate in a similar form of bstylistic characterizations of post World War II European film. Independent filmmakers typically viewed their films as a film as an art form or as a business film. Nonetheless Cassavetes undoubtedly viewed his films as a form of art. During his 1956 1957 imprisonment, Lumumba wrote Congo, My Congo, 200 pages to make a contribution towards the search for a solution for the present and future problems of the Congo (Lumumba 7). Because this book was not published until after Lumumba s death, it did not have an impact on the independence movement, but the views Lumumba wrote about certainly did. In Congo, My Country, Lumumba explains that one of the main reasons Europeans should not have control of the Congolese is that the Europeans do not understand the African way. Lumumba attributes this to the instinctive mistrust of the Congolese for the white man (Lumumba 8). • 21. The Argument For God s Existence And Nature Question 2 In part IX of Hume s Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion, Deamea, the orthodox Christian, confronts Philo s skepticism towards the arguments for God s existence and nature that have thus far be discussed. Deamea presents a version of the ontological argument that he believes should provide undeniable proof of the truths found in religious dogma. However, Philo is not convinced with this argument because of the nature of the argument. Philo describes Deamea s ontological argument as an a priori argument. In Latin a priori is means from before but when this term is used in philosophy it is meant to mean from before experience. These arguments argue for something through the use of empirical evidence. An example of a posteriori knowledge would be the statement, Barack Obama is the current president of the United States. This is an example of empirical information that cannot be proven through reason alone. The different viewpoints between a priori and a posteriori arguments can be seen in works for Thomas Aquinas and Anselm of Canterbury. Both Saints believe that God is self evident. However, Aquinas uses a priori arguments and Anselm uses an a priori argument. I believe that Aquinas does not reject Anselm s argument because it is a priori. Aquinas issues with Anselm s argument lies in Anselm s misuse of his definition of God and humanity s inability to understand this definition. In his ontological argument, Anselm defines God as that than which nothing greater can be thought. According to Aquinas, this is where the main issue lies in Anselm s argument. Aquinas believes that everyone must have the same concept of God in order for Anselm s definition of God to work. Not everyone will define God as that than which nothing greater can be thought. This definition is the basis of Anselm s argument and if people cannot come to define God as Anselm did then the argument fails. Aquinas second issue with Anselm s ontological argument comes from the fact that even if everyone comes to accept God as that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tacx et al. [2] explains the different affinity between the two solvents and PVA. Water could only be a moderate good solvent for low molecular weight PVA, the formation of aggregates occurs easily and PVA completely dissolved in DMSO and forms the solutions. For example, if we were asked to describe one particular person who we met for the first time, we will describe looking for the person. He is a tall man, skinny but little fat, with black pupils . These characteristics are not going to give an image of that person to others because these features are too common and there are no specific detailed features being described. Another simple example of vagueness is there are many people in the concert last night . The statement stated that there are a lot of people, but it does not give any image of how many people exactly or approximately that attend the concert. Furthermore, another example of sentence with vague meaning is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Individual) Critical Thinking is a compulsory subject which most students have to study when they reach university level. The question is why do students have to study this particular subject? In my opinion, it is because employers in the current market will be looking for thinking skills in university graduates, with many seeing it as criteria to have these skills while they are choosing their employees. Many may ask, what is critical thinking? Chaffee defined critical thinking as a purposeful, organized cognitive process that we use to understand the world and make informed decisions. • 43. Thomas Hardy Neutral Tones Essay Neutral Tones by Thomas Hardy conveys the deceiving nature of love through metaphor, the symbolic environment in which the poem takes place, oxymoron and poetic sound devices. Among Hardy s pessimistic poems, Neutral Tones is one of the most acclaimed. At the heart of the sixteen line poem with an ABBA rhyme scheme, he encounters the demise of a once loving relationship. The former promising love that he shared with his partner has dissolved into bitterness and its effects leave him devastated and hopeless. Although the title hints that the author is trying to take a neutral stance on the situation, his word choice and use of figurative language does not indicate it. The only neutrality present in the poem is the description of the cold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (9 12). The smile on your mouth was the deadest thing is a shocking statement to make on the smile of a formerly beloved person because it doesn t maintain neutrality like the author tries to keep (9). The cold gesture of a grin of bitterness shows how the bond and connection that they once shared has disappeared (11). Her presence is also causing him great suffering and is deemed a bad omen like an ominous bird (12). Hardy implies that the people that we end up loving the most are the ones that bring us the most pain. The final quatrain highlights a depressing state of mind through assonance and alliteration. Words like keen , deceives , me , tree , and leaves exhibit the assonance of the ee sound. Although Hardy tries to keep a neutral opinion of his experience of love, beneath the surface, the reader is aware of the inner emotional turmoil that the author has experienced. By the end his ex lovers face and winter are now a constant reminder of how deceiving love can be. The reader is left with the knowledge that all love that ends usually leaves behind a depressing state of mind and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Argumentative Essay On Food Deserts Eradicating food deserts has definitely become a significant issue in food and nutrition guidelines and programs across the entire nation. As part of her Let s Move! campaign, Michelle Obama was a huge advocate for this and aimed on eliminating food deserts within seven years in the United States (Corapi). To achieve this goal, accurate definitions and the identification of the numerous food deserts are certainly required. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), food deserts are areas that lack access to affordable fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk, and other foods that make up a full and healthy diet (CDC Features). This is largely due to a lack of grocery stores, farmers markets, and healthy food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to a New York Times article, Michelle Obama once stated, In so many neighborhoods, if people want to buy a head of lettuce or salad or some fruit for their kid s lunch, they have to take two or three buses, maybe pay for a taxicab, in order to do it (Kolata). She was referring to the food deserts in the several low income neighborhoods within the city of Chicago. Mrs. Obama has also advocated in getting schools to serve healthier lunches, as part to reduce childhood obesity within these neighborhoods. Studies done in the past have shown that limited access to healthy food and rather easier access to less nutritious food may be linked to poor diets and, ultimately, to obesity and diet related diseases. Even when these food deserts do have access to nearby convenience stores, it tends to be either overpriced or low quality food, which carry mostly processed foods that offer little to no nutritional value, when compared to the food and products that supermarkets have to offer. Adding on to this, those who depend on food stamps also have limited options when it comes to nutritious food. This makes it even harder for these people to live a healthy affordable ... Eventually, with many hours a week of practice, I was cutting divots into the ice with my skates and spraying snow when I stopped. When I was eleven years old, I played as the only girl on my first real hockey team. My heart was one hundred percent in the game. However, many people did not understand my passion. They questioned how petite girl could play such a physically aggressive sport. Yet, I never let their comments phase me. Since that year, I have continued playing hockey but mostly on girls teams. Functions that can t justify a full time expert should be outsourced to professionals that specialize. Possibilities include information systems, accounting, human resources, marketing, and engineering. Hiring a chief operating officer is usually advisable. (1999). Hiring qualified staff and manager will help the business become more successful. The fourth stage of business happens when the business has almost reached its full expansion. It is the stage where the owner has to make decisions on policies, code of conduct for personnel, job descriptions as well as internal control policies just to name a few. It is also the stage where the owner will have to decide what type of departmentation they want their organization to use. Whether it is by project, by function or by matrix this will help the business being more efficient. Also, the founder will have to decide whether its business should be centralized or ... The Law Of Unfair Terms Of Consumer Contracts The law of unfair terms in consumer contracts have experienced changes over the years, the most significant of which was the Consumer Rights Act which came into effect on October 1st 2015. However, before the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA 2015), unfair terms in consumer contracts were covered under two pieces of legislation; the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977(UCTA 1977) and the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 (UTCCR 1999) . The UCTA 1977 and UTCCR 1999 provided liability for transactions occurring in the course of a business as well as business and consumer contracts. Both UCTA 1977 and UTCCR 1999 provided protection for consumers from terms in a contract so as to prevent them from being at a disadvantage for not read contractual terms and conditions. The UCTA 1977 defined a consumer under s.12 (1) (a); as a party dealing not in the course of a business and not holding himself to do so; while in s12 (1) (b) the other party is acting in the course of a business. The UTCCR s definition was very narrow, Regulation 3 stated that a consumer must be a natural person that is not a legal person e.g. a company who contracts outside his business. The UCTA 1977 was a primary legislative whereas the UTCCR 1999 are an implementation of the European Court s Directive on Unfair terms in Consumer Contracts. One way he did that was helping craft the future to prevent dog fighting. Once Vick and a few others came up with the idea, they brought it to Wayne Pacelle, the president of the Humane Society. We saw a great opportunity for me to come to Capitol Hill and draw attention to some of the inadequate animal welfare laws (Vick). Vick was eight years old when he saw his first dog fight. Also, protesters in Philadelphia didn t want the Eagles to sign quarterback Michael Vick, because he was a convicted felon ( Protester Again ). Vick new this and used it as fuel to work as hard as he could on and off the field to prove those people wrong. Vick wanted people to know that he was not only going to talk the talk, but he was going to walk the walk as well (Vick). One night, after Vick had a meeting with James Dubose, who was producing a documentary on him, a reporter/sports writer followed him onto the elevator. He asked Vick what he ate, if he had any drinks, and who he was talking to. He did this all to try to expose him violating his probation (Vick). Vick was disturbed by this, because it meant that some people hated him so much that they would go that far out of their way just to get rid of him. Andy Reid, the Eagles coach at the time, took particular interest in Vick s recovery because he had two sons imprisoned in 2007 for drug abuse.
