Advantages And Disadvantages Of Competitive Competition
Competitive markets means strong rivalry amongst firms or companies which are trying to achieve
and outdo each others by increasing their market share, profits and sales by using the methods of
marketing mix which includes prices, products, distributions and promotions. It can also be described
as a spectrum of a purely monopolistic, in which a company is the sole producer of good and services,
this means that a sufficient number of firms or companies are relatively equal to their sizes, which
eventually none of the big competitive companies can influence the market in any way. The
characteristic of fundamental in competitive market is that the existence of the various number of their
buyers and sellers it the market they operate. This will also meant that the vaster the number of buyers
and seller that are presence, the lesser the power of bargaining that the buyers and sellers will have.
Competitive competition demonstrates their characteristic by having the perfect knowledge that will
help minimizing the risk and to limit the role of entrepreneur and also there are no single firms or
organization can influence the market price or market conditions and it is said that a single firm is said
that it can only be a price taker which it can take the price from the ... Show more content on

the one who follows how the market leader and market challenger runs the market and not challenging

Renaissance Impact On Society
Renaissance was a time of change. Scientific advances, literature, and art blossomed among all the
people. Before the renaissance, during the Middle Ages, most people were illiterate and the Roman
Catholic Church held all the power. Most of the population consisted of peasant farmers known as
serfs. Times began to change when more and more peasants became self sufficient and gained their
freedom. Humanism was developed and times were getting better for all people. The purpose of this
paper is to explain how the renaissance changed man s view on the world.
Art was one of the things that changed drastically during the Renaissance. The clearest evidence of the
break with medieval culture comes from the visual arts (DOC A) From the Middle Ages ... Show more

Everything from the alignment of the planets to the knowledge we had on the human body changed.
Claudius Ptolemy came up with the geocentric model of the universe that placed the earth in the
middle with all the planets surrounding it. He developed theories of the universe that was adopted by
most scholars during the Middle Ages (DOC C) Then later on during the Renaissance period Nicolaus
Copernicus came up with the correct heliocentric model that placed the sun in the center with the
planets surrounding it. Relying mostly on mathematics and observation, he developed a different
understanding of the universe (DOC C) Even though his calculations weren t exactly correct,
Copernicus still had the right idea. When it came to the human body during the Middle Ages it was
believed that each zodiac sign controlled a part of the human body. The image on the left reflects the
middle age belief that each sign of the zodiac governed a certain part of the body (DOC D) During the
Renaissance Andreas Vesalius performed autopsies on human corpses. The illustration on the right
was based on the research done by Andreas Vesalius, who dissected human corpses to better explain
the human body (DOC D) All the changes brought by science impacted the way men viewed the world
greatly.
All the changes that occurred during the Renaissance reflected humanism and science. By introducing
humanism, religion was pushed to the side for the first time ever. People could think freely and make
discoveries for themselves without worrying about the churches opinion. Ultimately the Renaissance
period introduced science and humanism which changed the way man viewed the world through new

At the Time of the Louisville Flood Essay
The image I have chosen is one by Margaret Bourke White, titled At the Time of the Louisville Flood .
Margaret Bourke White was born on June 14, 1904. She first gained recognition as an industrial
photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio and worked for the magazine company known as Fortune. She
then became one of the founding member for the magazine LIFE, having shot the very first cover of
their magazine. Margaret s name became world famous for her amazing photographs, even more
impressive to have accomplished this at a time when is was a man s world.
This photograph really gets my attention due to the great irony illustrated in it. When looking at this
picture I first take notice to the huge billboard at the back of the setting in ... Show more content on

Digital manipulation was highly unlikely at that time so the picture was seen in its purity.
Having this photography in black and white makes the subject
Furthermore, this photograph is more powerful in black and white rather than in color because the
contrast between the main subjects is more obvious. It is taken from an ordinary perspective and angle
which draws the viewers in easily. The picture is therefore divided into two parts supplement to each
other from this point of view.
This is an effective and influential piece due to the issue brought up by the irony. Through her
photograph, Margaret Bourke White successfully depicted the living standard of African Americans in
reality back in the 1930 s compared to the so called American dream. This is one of my favorite
photographs because of the truthfulness it represents. This image not only brings the suffering of the
flood victims to the viewers but also demonstrates the mock made by the billboard toward the victims.
If this photograph is presented without any descriptions and title, it would make little sense to the
spectators. Without showing the very front of the bread line, it would be hard for viewers to know who
are the people

Summary Of Matrix Of Domination
1. Keller distinguishes between both functional and critical oppositional public intellectuals in his
article. He defines functional as those who serve to reproduce and legitimate the values of existing
societies (Keller). While on the other hand he defines critical oppositional public intellectuals as those
who oppose the existing order and militate for progressive social change (Keller). From the two styles
of theorizing the one that appeals to me would be critical oppositional public intellectual. This style
appeals to me because the domain of this style is to defend and fight for human freedom, fight against
oppression and also injustice. I believe in all of these things and I would be willing to fight for what I

Lengerman and Niebrugge believed that female sociologists early focused on advocacy to undercut
their perceived importance because they were constantly being compared to the male sociologists. The

interact with men as professional equals in face to face relations (Pg. 16). When women were
compared to men, they were seen to have a lack of authority , the less than being or the being who

Le Chatelier s Principle
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab is to develop a deeper understanding of LeChatelier s Principle by observing
several systems at chemical equilibrium and interpreting the effects of varying concentrations and
temperature. The principle states that if systems at equilibria are altered or disturbed in any form, the
equilibria will shift to reduce the disturbing influence ( Catalyst, 186). In a 3 part experiment, we
analyzed the outcome of changes in reactant and product concentrations, equilibrium involving
sparingly soluble salts, and the effect of temperature on the equilibrium. In part 1 , we observed the
shift in equilibria of two aqueous solutions of Copper and Ammonia then Nickel and Ammonia. In
part 2, we focused on cobalt ions in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

1. The original Na2CO3 solution is clear in color. The addition of AgNO3 turns it cloudy almost
immediately. A small amount of precipitate is also visible in the solution.
2. Exactly 4 drops of HNO3 are added and the color of the solution reverts back to clear.
3. 4 drops of HCl are also added and the solution once again turns back cloudy with visible

Fertility Control
Fertility control is the key to the development of less developed countries like those of the Caribbean .
Critically assess the above statement in relation to any two named countries.
To begin, firstly fertility or fertility rate must first be understood. Fertility rate is the actual level of
childbearing of an individual or population. (Oxford Dictionary of Sociology, pg. 254). Fertility
control is seen as a method which ensures development by limiting the quantity of natural, financial
and other resources to be spent on the economically inactive. (Sociology for Caribbean Studies, pg.
321). Demographers believe the concept that in each country there is an optimum population in which

This overpopulation, lack of education and sufficient resources can be seen to have caused the lack of
development in Haiti. The government of Haiti has not come up with an operational family planning
program to control growing population numbers.
Thus initiative needs to be taken in regards to their health program in order to decrease their total
fertility rate. In Jamaica, their fertility rate has seen a substantial drop as a result of the part played by
the country s family planning agency, the National Family Planning Board (NFPB). The Acting
Executive Director of the National Family Planning Board, Dr. Sharlene Jarrett, has said that in
Jamaica in the early 1970 s we averaged 4.5 children born to women between ages 15 and 49 and we
see where in 2008, it was 2.4 and this is just a little above the ideal replacement level. . This decrease
is seen as a great achievement for Jamaica and is a major step in Jamaica developing in their economic
and social infrastructure. The decrease in the amount of children born to a Jamaican woman and in
total the overall children born within the country is an important stage for their development. With a
low fertility rate the country s resources

Disadvantages Of Neonicotinoids
Knock Off Inorganic Pesticides to Coconut Trees The Philippines is now facing a serious industry
problem regarding the infestation of coconut scale insects, commonly known as cocolisap, to large
coconut plantations. This plant parasite eats on the leaf of a plant. This prevents photosynthesis
causing the low productivity of the plant. Cosico (2014) stated that, At least 60 percent of the total
coconut farming areas in the country, most of which are in the CALABARZON area, are infected with
cocolisap and it has crossed over to Basilan in Mindanao Region. Due to this, the government released
chemical called neonicotinoids to obviate these cocolisap. It is said that neonicotinoids is effective but
there are some groups who take a stand against this neonicotinoids, restraining this for important
reason. They do not want this to be use because they believe that this chemical will only bring out

It can be in ecological and industrial aspect. If we are to allow this neonicotinoids, we should be the

neonicotinoids will be serious and for long term. Neonicotinoids will cure trees by removing cocolisap
but eventually, it will also affect those natural enemies that can help to regulate the production of
cocolisap and will also affect the totality of the tree by means of the residue of neonicotinoids that is
said to cause cancer and abnormality to humans (Umil, 2014 par. 11 14). Moreover, it is not just in the
ecological aspect that this chemical will have effects. It also affect the countries aim to have organic
certification. If neonicotinoids will be use, our products cannot be sold as organic or natural (Murcia,

Vikings Research Paper
The Vikings were an ancient people that inhabited Northern Europe and Scandinavia known as the
Norse (also known as Northmen or Norsemen). The Norse people were spread across Northern
Europe, particularly in the regions known today as: Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, and Finland),
Germany, Denmark, Poland, Netherlands, the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Ireland, and the
surrounding islands), Iceland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
These northern people as a whole spoke as their native language, one the various dialects of Norse.

Norse really did and what they were really like. We ll look at the facts of what was real about the
Norse people and their culture. We ll also look specifically at the Norse that infamously raided during
the Viking Era, giving them the label as Vikings.
The history of the Norse people goes all the way back to the Stone Age, but they are best known for a
period of time when they raided several parts of Europe known as the Viking Age.
The Viking Age is typically recorded in history as occurring approximately around 793 AD to 1066
AD. This period of time is not the time span of the Norse people themselves, nor was it the peak of
their civilization. This is merely the height of the time when the Norse people were mostly written
about. The time when they reached out and went out on viking adventures. A time when the World

Modern Birth Control And Gender Roles Essay
Before the introduction of modern birth control, gender roles emphasized the responsibility of women
to conceive and raise children. Although this began to change in the in the mid twentieth century, with
the introduction of the first hormonal birth control pill, Enovid, taking place in 1960, it was not readily
accessible during that time period (Buttar and Seward, 2009, p. 1 3). This did not change during the
time period immediately following the introduction either; five years after the introduction of Enovid,
there was still controversy surrounding the use of contraceptives. In the Supreme Court case of
Griswold v. Connecticut, the legality of birth control on the market was debated, and the case
concluded with the allowance of hormonal contraceptives, but it was limited to married couples only
under the right of marital privacy (George and Lewis, 2016, p. 1). The controversy and secrecy that
surrounded the use of birth control shortly after its introduction indicates that although it was certainly
present and used in society during this time period, it still carried the negative social connotations of
the past, which prevented it from being socially normalized. In contrast, the standardization of birth
control in society took place decades later, from approximately the 1990 to 2010s.
In contemporary American society, birth control has become more readily accessible to women, which
is indicated by the increased usage of contraception in society. The number of birth

I arrived later in the afternoon so registration was light, but it did move nice and fast. With all the

This stadium race wasn t much different than the others, it included many of the standard Sprint
obstacles and several obstacles unique to the stadium series. The course included several carry

extremely hard to represent in a digital format. For that part of my exhibit I got some quotes on what

Firstly, as far as image goes I cannot literally produce a physical representation of a TIm Hortons cup.
The best I could do is pictures of what it looked like at the time. Secondly, while I can show images of
the inside a Tim Hortons I can not show the atmosphere of a Tim Hortons. For instance, how busy the
morning rush is with a line of people trying to get coffee. Or how you see a group of retired people
having a daily discussion at lunch time over coffee. There s only so much that can be done on the
medium of digital curation. Consequently, there are also some key issues when trying to curate the
taste of something online. Because you can say what something taste like and be very descriptive.
Ultimately, you can t truly appreciate what something tastes like until you have actually tasted it.
Lastly, while I can present in words the cultural impact that Tim Hortons and the double double has it
can t be fully represented unless you have seen it. For example, it s hard to picture how much
influence Tim Hortons has had unless you see people with Tim s cups everyday at your university or
at your place of work. By in large I feel like a did an admirable job of curating my artifact in a deep
way that can hopefully give those that don t know about Tim Hortons at least a glimpse into how they

Neighborhood Observation
I think the thing that I learned the most about Baltimore communities and schools during this
excursion was that the quality of the neighborhoods changes so rapidly from street to street. I have
never experienced such a quick and powerful juxtaposition between different socioeconomical areas in

grouped in larger clusters. In Baltimore, I have noticed that isn t true. Neighborhoods rapidly shift
from block to block The transition from Canton to Madison happened so quickly that I thought I had
missed something originally. This is so interesting to me and I would love to learn more about why
this is the way that it is. I am very ignorant of large cities in general, but in my experience I have

gentrification and increased socioeconomic development. It was clear from the number of recently

April 21, 2015 Communist Manifesto s Impact on 19th Century France
Growing up in the United States, communism immediately causes people to cringe. Yes many
attempts at communist societies have gone horribly wrong, however the motives behind communism
are powerful. They hope to tear down the social classes that capitalism forms, they hope to educate
women and form a society where the proletariat is paid for their work by the government in order to
distribute the wealth evenly. The Communist Manifesto is a political pamphlet explaining the
communist beliefs. The Manifesto s effect on history cannot be stressed enough. It had an immediate
impact in 19th century France. The powerful messages embedded within the Communist Manifesto
impels people to take action, serving as a driving force in the French Revolution of 1848, and is
recognized as the platform for which the Paris Commune based their government off of. The
Communist Manifesto, written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, is a political pamphlet
summarizing Marx and Engels political theories on communism. Marx and Engels were German
authors and revolutionaries with unique ideas for their time. Engels joined the Communist League in
1847, where he outlined twenty two questions about communism in the Draft of the Communist
Confession of Faith (Engels). These ideals were restructured and published four months later in his

Qualities Of A Good President Essay
In any presidential election, it is important to take the characteristics of each candidate into
consideration in order to determine who is most qualified for the title president of the United States .
Being a president of a country comes with a great deal of responsibility. A president is required to
make appearances, present speeches, be involved in foreign affairs, help make military decisions, and
serve as a representative of the nation as a whole. To be a good president, one must be able to present
their arguments eloquently with sufficient evidence provided to support their claims. Though the

necessary to be considered a good president. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A president with a humble heart would be less likely to become corrupt with power. Since the

which would bring forth the best result. An open mind, a strong sense of diplomacy, honesty, and
accountability are also important factors of a good president. Diplomacy is necessary to be able to
come to a compromise with an opponent by understanding and using some of the opponent s proposed
ideas to find a middle ground. Presidential candidate Donald Trump does not fit the characteristics a

Obtaining Motion Blur Parameters Form The Frequency Spectrum
Fourier transform is applied on digital images to interprets their content in terms frequency
information. To illustrate, Flat areas, where the intensity is slowly changing, result in low frequencies.
Rough areas, on the other hand, result in high frequencies because of the dramatic change in the
intensity value. this paper discusses the impact of manipulating the frequency information of digital
images and how the frequency spectrum can be used to address a real world situation.
Filtering an image in the frequency domain is usually composed of three steps. First, the Fourier
transform is calculated (DCT or DFT). Then, a certain operation is performed on the frequencies ...

Huei and Kun [2] proposed that the speed of moving objects in a single image can be estimated using
the blur parameters, the camera parameters and imaging geometry. To illustrate, the displacement of a
moving object (d) can be determined using similar triangles according to the blur length (k) Figure2.
And by knowing the shutter speed of the camera (T), the speed of the object is v =d/T(1). Since this
paper is concerned with Fourier Transform, the details of equation (1) are omitted and calculating the
blur parameter is detailed below.
The blur parameters, including the blurs direction and length, can be determined by examining their
impact on the Fourier spectrum. As shown in figure, the Fourier spectrum of the motion blur contains
strips of dark lines that are parallel and uniformly separated. Note that the Fourier spectrum depends
on the objects orientation; so the direction of the motion blur could be extracted from the frequency
spectrum. Also, as the blurs length increase, the edges get smoother, resulting in lower frequency
response. These observations suggest that the frequency spectrum has all the needed information to
determine the blurs parameters. In particular, the object shown in the figure is moving along the
horizontal axis, and this caused the vertical orientation of the dark lines in the frequency spectrum.
Furthermore, increasing the blurs length, which can be achieved by increasing the object s speed,
lessens the distance

Country Rock History
COUNTRY AND JAZZ IN ROCK
At the end of the 1960s, when Rock and Roll were at its prime, two musical genres that were
originally considered its influences re imagined themselves through Rock and Roll s prism Country
and Jazz musicians started to mix their music with Rock s relentless energy. The newfound genres,
called Country Rock and Jazz Rock respectively were accepted by the audience and critics alike,
having a major impact that is still traceable in today s music.
Musical genres can be often analyzed from two standpoints: the way the genre approaches musical
harmony and the genre s stylistics. There is Country with its rudimentary melodic approach, which in
a majority of times is merely a backdrop for stories that cover themes such as love, freedom, religion,
and, unsurprisingly, the aspects of life in the countryside. A major part of Country s aesthetics is
reached with the use of very few recognizable instruments, such as fiddles and banjos. On the other
hand, we have Jazz, whose most renowned contributors were quite often creating instrumental pieces
exclusively, praising structural and melodic complexity as their ultimate goals. Throughout its history,
Jazz was moving in all directions, experimenting with all sorts of instruments and musical
movements.

Corinth had against the Athenians, viz. that they had fought against them with the Corcyraeans in time
of treaty. (1.55) In a speech, the Corcyraeans employ Athens that helping them will put them on the
right side of history and would also be in their own self interests. In a speech, they claim there are but
three considerable naval powers in Hellas, Athens, Corcyra, and Corinth, and that if you allow two of
these three to become one, and Corinth to secure us for herself, you will have to hold the sea against
the united fleets of Corcyra and Peloponnese. (1.36) Thucydides suggests that with this consideration,
Athens went forward with assisting Corcyra. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet this inevitably led to them getting involved in conflict and caused strain with the agreements of
the Thirty Year s Peace. Corinth speaks you do wrong, Athenians, to begin war and break the treaty.
(1.36) The Athenian reply indicates that they believe their involvement to be just: Neither are we
beginning war, Peloponnesians, nor are we breaking the treaty; but these Corcyraeans are our allies
and we are come to help them. (1.53) From this point forward is where Thucydides identifies where
fresh differences arose between the Athenians and Peloponnesian s, and contributed their share to the
war. Corinth was forming schemes for retaliation, and Athens suspected her hostility.

The Power Of The American Dream
Land of Opportunity, Home of the Brave, and Land of the Free often come to mind when envisioning
the United States for most individuals around the world. Through media, America and the American
Dream are depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented
the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance
of immigrants fell short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these
alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and influential corporations needed to revitalize the
American Dream before it dissolved amongst the masses. In order to keep American deception
ongoing, a new American Dream was implemented into society. This ... Show more content on

The American Dream perpetuates the idea of the accessible and limitless opportunities. The
exploitation of opportunities during the eighteenth and nineteenth century made by many colonizers
formulated the societal ideal for desiring more (Shames 78). The more opportunities an individual
utilizes, the more likely an individual will attain happiness and reward. This idea of obtaining a greater
need for a favorable outcome correlates through consumerism. According to Shames, American
society measures progress and happiness by expansion in individuals standard of living (80).
Seemingly, the more one obtains translates into the happier he or she will be. Corporations create
mechanisms that perpetuate this notion, establishing a constant cycle of purchasing more.
Commercials express: the more you have, the happier you will become. Manipulative marketing
schemes persuade consumers that they must possess more in order to seek identity and attain
happiness. Consequently, the idea of consumerism becomes inescapable for the mass, forcing
individuals to acquire any and every available product, similar to their American

Reasons For The Articles Of Confederation
What were some of the reasons that the Articles of Confederation needed some revision? The Articles
of Confederation needed revisions for several reasons. The first reason being that the articles created a
weak government. Secondly, there were many weaknesses that were evident and required immediate
attention. The weaknesses that were the most important were that the government could not establish a
mandatory taxation, did not have control over commerce and the nation lacked overall unity. These
weaknesses lead states to reject the original articles because these problems could simply not be
overlooked. The need for a stronger government, as well as solutions to the weaknesses presented, led
to the constitutional convention in Philadelphia

Essay on John Adams
John Adams was born on October 30th, 1735 to John Adams Sr. and Susanna Boylston Adams. He
was the oldest of three and lived in Braintree, Massachusetts. His father was a farmer, deacon, and
town councilman. The Adams were not very wealthy and John Adams father knew he could only send
one son and he wanted to send his eldest. However, John Adams told his father I do not love books
and I wish you would lay aside thoughts of sending me to college. His father in reply asked him What
would you do child? Be a farmer? John insisted that he wanted to be a farmer and not a scholar. His
father brought him to work the fields the next day. Farming was strenuous work and was most likely
rough on John s hands and back. The night after the long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Adams, (who later became the sixth president of the United States) Abigail, Susanna, Charles, and

often on business trips to boston. He decided to move his family to boston so that they could stay
closer. Boston was stirring with hatred for the British. The colonists were not fond of taxes being
imposed on them or the amount of soldiers stationed in their towns. On March 5, 1770, a boston mob
insulted and threw snowballs and pieces of ice and rock at the soldiers. The soldiers in turn panicked
and shot their guns at the mob. Five men were killed in the incident referred to by the colonists as the
Boston Massacre. Even though John Adams did not delight in the King s actions, He believed that
everyone deserved a fair trial. He became the defense attorney for the soldiers. He proved that the
Captain was not guilty. Only two of the soldiers were found guilty and their thumbs were branded.
Even though he had defended the British, Adams did not approve of many of the King s actions. He
was one of five to represent Massachusetts in the First Continental Congress meeting on September 5,
1774. He seconded the idea that the colonists should get independence from Great Britain. When a

Member Of The Wedding
Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding depicts the emotionally turbulent summer of Frankie
Addams, a socially isolated and gender nonconforming adolescent girl in the cusp of adulthood.
Frankie s search for a sense of identity manifests in an idiosyncratic longing to be apart of her brother
s wedding and marriage. This novel represents subjects who are not assimilated in the dominant social
order or who resist to assimilate, while also develops its ideas about belonging and community.
One major component of McCullers novel that struck to me was the concept of division of people.
This component also seemed to me like it was the major theme of the novel. McCuller signals that by
saying, this was the summer when for a long time Frankie had not been a member (McCullers 3).

This leads to her becoming obsessed with the fact that she is to be a member of her brother Jarvis

group of people, but also to move past her childhood personna. McCullers writes, to start with, she
decided to make herself some visiting cards with Miss F. Jasmine Addams Esq., engraved with
squinted letters on a tiny card, (McCullers 51) insinuating that this name change was a start of
something, sort of, new. McCullers often would refer back to, the old Frankie , (McCullers 50) as if it
were a completely different person. Apparently, it was the old Frankie of yesterday who had been
puzzled, but F. Jasmine did not wonder anymore , (McCullers 50) which made it seem as though
Frankie had suddenly found herself and the group in which she had always wanted to be a member of.
However, the task of escaping adolescence was easier said than done and simply calling yourself by a

Theories Of Humanitarian Intervention
Section one deals with the debates that surround the issues of humanitarian intervention and just war
theory on the basis of international scale. One article by Holzgrefe is completely focused on the
debate, stating the many ethical theories of many different theorists: from utilitarianism; natural law;
social contractrianism; communitarianism; and legal postivism (7). Holzgrefe goes on to define what
each ethical theorist is and their understanding of the debate on humanitarian intervention. However,
there is the idea of when it is right to intervene and when intervention is unfavorable. The most
interesting part was the third section of the article.

The idea of selective is that it is based on a voluntary choice to determine when and why one should
intervene when massacres and wars are surrounding certain countries. Brown sets up an example
where he discusses the speech of Prime Minister Tony Blair, in Blair s last question, he asked do we
have national interests involved? (4). Brown discusses how this question alone shows selectivity.
Brown goes on to say that what Blair meant was that unless interests are directly involved,
intervention is likely short lived and ineffective (6). However, goes back to the idea of human rights
violations, which has been the one of the main reasons why all these articles have some
theorist/individuals who are trying to validate that a good reason to intervene is for the sole purpose of
human rights, that it is not an obligation, but as a way to treat human as an end not as means as Kant
would say. Which briefly brings me to touch upon the fourth and last article by Teson Fernando, the
interesting part is that human intervention is an obligation. In a way that is true, but no country is
going to agree on that because countries are selfish and don t have an obligation to help their
neighbors if it mean that their on safety and interest are at

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Green Day Working Class Hero
Ilian Garcia Gautam Emani ENGL 111G M06 September 22, 2014 Rhetorical Analysis Green Day:
Working Class Hero Green Day released a John Lennon cover song Working Class Hero the album
was used to control the power of Lennon s music to inspire a new generation of activists to stand up
for human rights. Through the lyrics Green Day communicates how members of the working class
brought up and processed by the government. In this way the song is done to agree with the change of
generation, definitely they had a large portion of his audience positively respond to his message. In the
lyrics of Working Class Hero Green Day represents having full knowledge as to what the working
class must encounter throughout their lives. This aspect makes him seem more relatable and gains
ethos as they make it seem like they know firsthand. The members of Green Day are proud to come
from a background of laborers and from low income communities. By putting people in the video that
express there own difficulties conveys that message across. This song builds a connection between
them and their audience due to seeming relatable and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Social Problem Of Social Problems
1.0.0 SOCIAL PROBLEM The term social problem cannot be comprehensively defined without
understanding the meaning of social itself before joining problem. 1.0.1 SOCIAL The word social
comes from the Latin socius meaning friend. When you re being social, you re everyone s friend. Go
to a social, or mixer and you might make a lot of new friends. Stand in the corner pouting, however,
and you re being anti social. Humans are described as social being ones that tend to move or live in
groups together, Social is relating to society or it is organization, needing companionship and
therefore best suited to living in communities , relating to or designed for activities in which people
meet each other for pleasure. Cambridge dictionary defined social as relating to activities in which
you meet and spend time with other people and that happen during the time when you are not
working: 1.0.2 PROBLEM Problem is a condition of discontentment resented by someone. But when
it is resented on many people, it becomes a social problem. For a problem to be social, it must involve
a large number of people, sometimes groups and institutions who consider a particular condition as
undesirable and intolerable and want to it to be corrected through collective effort or action. It is also a
perceived gap between the existing state and a desired state, or a deviation from a norm, standard,
although many problems turn out to have several

Summary Of The Idea Of Order At Key West
Art has the power to enhance consciousness as well as alter the way in which one perceives the world
around them. The process of which one experiences life from the means of their imagination
intensifies their perspicacity of the external reality. This alteration becomes seamlessly natural, and
goes unnoticed as emotions override the mind, and generates creativity. However, the dynamics of
nature are questionable in relation to how it holds inspiration to one s creative expression.
Artistic expression is essential in Wallace Steven s, The Idea of Order at Key West because it
illustrates the relationship between mind and nature. She sang beyond the genius of the sea suggest
that the woman s voice surpassed the spirit of the sea. Just (Impartial) ... Show more content on

It was her voice that made/The sky acutest at its vanishing (34 35). The woman s voice is what
captures the beauty of the sky during the sunset. Her artistic style compliments the environment in
with the speaker and Ramon seem to observe. Besides the theatrical distances and mountainous
atmospheres , no emotion or meaning is taken from the dramatic setting, only the woman s voice. She
was the single artificer of the world/In which she sang. And when she sang the sea,/Whatever self it
had, became the self./That was her song, for she was the maker, (37 40). The power of art is truly
displayed by not only changing the speaker s perception but also creating a world for which he
envisions through his imagination.
The concept of order can be taken into consideration solely to reflect that the singer is the one altering
the speaker s perception of the nature. As sound was a vital implication, silence As the night
descended and light mastered the night reveals the strong effect the song had on the speaker, as it still
carried on even after the artificer stopped singing. The natural world remains the same, but the
perceptibility changed and created more intensity.
The relationship between imagination and realism holds truth that beyond one s experiences and
sensibility has a role on how they will grasp meaning to their own world. For it is the impact of
externalizing the notions of the aesthetic and order that one can possess an understanding of

Shared Power Is More Powerful . When Two People Are In
Shared power is more powerful When two people are in conflict and trying to assert their needs. When
we want to influence another person, what we are in effect doing is attempting to exert some power
over that individual. In this context, power doesn t necessarily mean something ominous or
threatening. There are many meanings and possible sources of power. For example, passion can be a
source of power. The righteousness of a cause can be its power. Confidence is power. So when a
couple is mired in conflict when they are desperately trying to get their way or be right or prove the
other person wrong what it often comes down to is a power struggle. Power is a basic component of
any relationship. Think about the relationships in your own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Covert power builds resentment, who find that courage, often find that bringing power dynamics to
the surface is the key to repairing their relationship and moving past resentment. Nevertheless, despite
the connections between these works, inequality does not work in the same way for every couple.
Each of the couples represented here possesses their own definition of sublime inequity, often signaled
by gender differences. In somewhere I have never travelled, gladly beyond, e.e. Cummings describes
an infatuation so great that it renders the world topsy turvy, making fragility powerful and turning the
masculine into feminine. Cummings begins by suggesting that this infatuation is unfamiliar territory
for his speaker, referring to it as somewhere he has never travelled, gladly beyond/any experience... (1
2). Here, new love is described as an unfamiliar place or perhaps, a state of mind that transcends the
speaker s previous romantic encounters. The inclusion of the word gladly, however, implies that the
novelty of this latest affair is (at the very least) pleasurable. Reading these lines in context with the
poem s overwhelmingly romantic tone suggests that our speaker is addressing his lover ( you )
directly. Perhaps contributing to his overall state of confusion, the speaker notes: your eyes have their
silence, implying that his lady love is more inscrutable than his previous flames (Cummings 2).
Cumming s use of silent eyes brings to mind images of

Elton John s Influence On The Entertainment World
Polyphony is a musical term used to describe when two different pieces play at the same time, neither
one more pronounced or emphasised than the other, yet the two play nicely together. In this problem,
we have used musical polyphony as an analogy to describe multiple voices and events happening
during a specific decade of the 20th century. Each person in our group is representing a different
individual who had a prevalent voice in multiple areas during the 1980 s. I chose to write about Elton
John, who was polyphonic in entertainment, culture, and civil rights. I will talk about how he
influenced the entertainment world through his music, relevant songwriting, and occasional acting. We
will discuss John s involvement with civil rights, such as AIDs and LGBT rights. And, finally, we will
go over Sir Elton John s influence on culture. Sir Elton John was born on March 25th, 1947 as
Reginald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, Middlesex, England. His parents were Stanley and Sheila
Dwight. Elton John s parents fought often, causing him stress beginning at a young age, and divorced

own album, and had mainstream success with his first hit single, Your Song. You could say that this

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Competitive Competition Competitive markets means strong rivalry amongst firms or companies which are trying to achieve and outdo each others by increasing their market share, profits and sales by using the methods of marketing mix which includes prices, products, distributions and promotions. It can also be described as a spectrum of a purely monopolistic, in which a company is the sole producer of good and services, this means that a sufficient number of firms or companies are relatively equal to their sizes, which eventually none of the big competitive companies can influence the market in any way. The characteristic of fundamental in competitive market is that the existence of the various number of their buyers and sellers it the market they operate. • 3. Renaissance Impact On Society Renaissance was a time of change. Scientific advances, literature, and art blossomed among all the people. Before the renaissance, during the Middle Ages, most people were illiterate and the Roman Catholic Church held all the power. Most of the population consisted of peasant farmers known as serfs. Times began to change when more and more peasants became self sufficient and gained their freedom. Humanism was developed and times were getting better for all people. The purpose of this paper is to explain how the renaissance changed man s view on the world. Art was one of the things that changed drastically during the Renaissance. The clearest evidence of the break with medieval culture comes from the visual arts (DOC A) From the Middle Ages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everything from the alignment of the planets to the knowledge we had on the human body changed. Claudius Ptolemy came up with the geocentric model of the universe that placed the earth in the middle with all the planets surrounding it. He developed theories of the universe that was adopted by most scholars during the Middle Ages (DOC C) Then later on during the Renaissance period Nicolaus Copernicus came up with the correct heliocentric model that placed the sun in the center with the planets surrounding it. Relying mostly on mathematics and observation, he developed a different understanding of the universe (DOC C) Even though his calculations weren t exactly correct, Copernicus still had the right idea. When it came to the human body during the Middle Ages it was believed that each zodiac sign controlled a part of the human body. The image on the left reflects the middle age belief that each sign of the zodiac governed a certain part of the body (DOC D) During the Renaissance Andreas Vesalius performed autopsies on human corpses. The illustration on the right was based on the research done by Andreas Vesalius, who dissected human corpses to better explain the human body (DOC D) All the changes brought by science impacted the way men viewed the world greatly. All the changes that occurred during the Renaissance reflected humanism and science. By introducing humanism, religion was pushed to the side for the first time ever. People could think freely and make discoveries for themselves without worrying about the churches opinion. Ultimately the Renaissance period introduced science and humanism which changed the way man viewed the world through new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. At the Time of the Louisville Flood Essay The image I have chosen is one by Margaret Bourke White, titled At the Time of the Louisville Flood . Margaret Bourke White was born on June 14, 1904. She first gained recognition as an industrial photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio and worked for the magazine company known as Fortune. She then became one of the founding member for the magazine LIFE, having shot the very first cover of their magazine. Margaret s name became world famous for her amazing photographs, even more impressive to have accomplished this at a time when is was a man s world. This photograph really gets my attention due to the great irony illustrated in it. When looking at this picture I first take notice to the huge billboard at the back of the setting in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Digital manipulation was highly unlikely at that time so the picture was seen in its purity. Having this photography in black and white makes the subject Furthermore, this photograph is more powerful in black and white rather than in color because the contrast between the main subjects is more obvious. It is taken from an ordinary perspective and angle which draws the viewers in easily. The picture is therefore divided into two parts supplement to each other from this point of view. This is an effective and influential piece due to the issue brought up by the irony. Through her photograph, Margaret Bourke White successfully depicted the living standard of African Americans in reality back in the 1930 s compared to the so called American dream. This is one of my favorite photographs because of the truthfulness it represents. This image not only brings the suffering of the flood victims to the viewers but also demonstrates the mock made by the billboard toward the victims. If this photograph is presented without any descriptions and title, it would make little sense to the spectators. Without showing the very front of the bread line, it would be hard for viewers to know who are the people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Summary Of Matrix Of Domination 1. Keller distinguishes between both functional and critical oppositional public intellectuals in his article. He defines functional as those who serve to reproduce and legitimate the values of existing societies (Keller). While on the other hand he defines critical oppositional public intellectuals as those who oppose the existing order and militate for progressive social change (Keller). From the two styles of theorizing the one that appeals to me would be critical oppositional public intellectual. This style appeals to me because the domain of this style is to defend and fight for human freedom, fight against oppression and also injustice. I believe in all of these things and I would be willing to fight for what I believe is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lengerman and Niebrugge believed that female sociologists early focused on advocacy to undercut their perceived importance because they were constantly being compared to the male sociologists. The authors addressed in their article that the academic work site made it all but impossible for women to interact with men as professional equals in face to face relations (Pg. 16). When women were compared to men, they were seen to have a lack of authority , the less than being or the being who need not be taken seriously (Pg. 10). • 6. Le Chatelier s Principle Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to develop a deeper understanding of LeChatelier s Principle by observing several systems at chemical equilibrium and interpreting the effects of varying concentrations and temperature. The principle states that if systems at equilibria are altered or disturbed in any form, the equilibria will shift to reduce the disturbing influence ( Catalyst, 186). In a 3 part experiment, we analyzed the outcome of changes in reactant and product concentrations, equilibrium involving sparingly soluble salts, and the effect of temperature on the equilibrium. In part 1 , we observed the shift in equilibria of two aqueous solutions of Copper and Ammonia then Nickel and Ammonia. In part 2, we focused on cobalt ions in ... Critically assess the above statement in relation to any two named countries. To begin, firstly fertility or fertility rate must first be understood. Fertility rate is the actual level of childbearing of an individual or population. (Oxford Dictionary of Sociology, pg. 254). Fertility control is seen as a method which ensures development by limiting the quantity of natural, financial and other resources to be spent on the economically inactive. The government of Haiti has not come up with an operational family planning program to control growing population numbers. Thus initiative needs to be taken in regards to their health program in order to decrease their total fertility rate. In Jamaica, their fertility rate has seen a substantial drop as a result of the part played by the country s family planning agency, the National Family Planning Board (NFPB). The Acting Executive Director of the National Family Planning Board, Dr. Sharlene Jarrett, has said that in Jamaica in the early 1970 s we averaged 4.5 children born to women between ages 15 and 49 and we see where in 2008, it was 2.4 and this is just a little above the ideal replacement level. . This decrease is seen as a great achievement for Jamaica and is a major step in Jamaica developing in their economic and social infrastructure. The decrease in the amount of children born to a Jamaican woman and in total the overall children born within the country is an important stage for their development. • 9. Disadvantages Of Neonicotinoids Knock Off Inorganic Pesticides to Coconut Trees The Philippines is now facing a serious industry problem regarding the infestation of coconut scale insects, commonly known as cocolisap, to large coconut plantations. This plant parasite eats on the leaf of a plant. This prevents photosynthesis causing the low productivity of the plant. Cosico (2014) stated that, At least 60 percent of the total coconut farming areas in the country, most of which are in the CALABARZON area, are infected with cocolisap and it has crossed over to Basilan in Mindanao Region. Due to this, the government released chemical called neonicotinoids to obviate these cocolisap. The history of the Norse people goes all the way back to the Stone Age, but they are best known for a period of time when they raided several parts of Europe known as the Viking Age. The Viking Age is typically recorded in history as occurring approximately around 793 AD to 1066 AD. • 12. Modern Birth Control And Gender Roles Essay Before the introduction of modern birth control, gender roles emphasized the responsibility of women to conceive and raise children. Although this began to change in the in the mid twentieth century, with the introduction of the first hormonal birth control pill, Enovid, taking place in 1960, it was not readily accessible during that time period (Buttar and Seward, 2009, p. 1 3). This did not change during the time period immediately following the introduction either; five years after the introduction of Enovid, there was still controversy surrounding the use of contraceptives. In the Supreme Court case of Griswold v. Connecticut, the legality of birth control on the market was debated, and the case concluded with the allowance of hormonal contraceptives, but it was limited to married couples only under the right of marital privacy (George and Lewis, 2016, p. 1). The controversy and secrecy that surrounded the use of birth control shortly after its introduction indicates that although it was certainly present and used in society during this time period, it still carried the negative social connotations of the past, which prevented it from being socially normalized. In contrast, the standardization of birth control in society took place decades later, from approximately the 1990 to 2010s. In contemporary American society, birth control has become more readily accessible to women, which is indicated by the increased usage of contraception in society. The number of birth ... Huei and Kun [2] proposed that the speed of moving objects in a single image can be estimated using the blur parameters, the camera parameters and imaging geometry. To illustrate, the displacement of a moving object (d) can be determined using similar triangles according to the blur length (k) Figure2. And by knowing the shutter speed of the camera (T), the speed of the object is v =d/T(1). Since this paper is concerned with Fourier Transform, the details of equation (1) are omitted and calculating the blur parameter is detailed below. The blur parameters, including the blurs direction and length, can be determined by examining their impact on the Fourier spectrum. As shown in figure, the Fourier spectrum of the motion blur contains strips of dark lines that are parallel and uniformly separated. Note that the Fourier spectrum depends on the objects orientation; so the direction of the motion blur could be extracted from the frequency spectrum. Also, as the blurs length increase, the edges get smoother, resulting in lower frequency response. These observations suggest that the frequency spectrum has all the needed information to determine the blurs parameters. In particular, the object shown in the figure is moving along the horizontal axis, and this caused the vertical orientation of the dark lines in the frequency spectrum. Furthermore, increasing the blurs length, which can be achieved by increasing the object s speed, lessens the distance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The newfound genres, called Country Rock and Jazz Rock respectively were accepted by the audience and critics alike, having a major impact that is still traceable in today s music. There is Country with its rudimentary melodic approach, which in a majority of times is merely a backdrop for stories that cover themes such as love, freedom, religion, and, unsurprisingly, the aspects of life in the countryside.
