have brought about dramatic alterations in land use patterns and rapid disappearance of valuable
natural ecosystems. The need for more water, more food, more energy, more consumer goods, is
not only the result of a greater population, but also the result of over utilization of resources by
people from the more affluent societies, and the affluent sections of our own. Industrial
development is aimed at meeting growing demands for all consumer items. However, these
consumer goods also generate waste in ever larger quantities. The growth of industrial complexes
has led to a shift of people from their traditional, sustainable, rural way of life to urban centers that
developed around industry. During the last few decades, several small urban centers have become
large cities, some have even become giant mega cities. This has increased the disparity between
what the surrounding land can produce and what the large number of increasingly consumer
oriented people in these areas of high population density consume. Urban centers cannot exist
without resources such as water from rivers and lakes, food from agricultural areas, domestic
animals from pasture lands and timber, fuel wood,

The Problem Of Chewing Tobacco
Chewing tobacco isn t as big of a problem as people think it is. As a teenager with knowing people,
loved ones that are addicted to it. It s a lot of pressure to be like dad but when dad is addicted to
something bad, it is not fun to try and be like dad. As far back as I can remember, my dad has
been a hero. He has been a super hero to not only me, but my friends, and everyone in the Pillager
area, since he is a first responder on the fire department. My father is addicted to chewing tobacco.
Everyone has an addiction, and some are worse than others.
Not everyone knows what it s like to be addicted to chewing tobacco, or knows why people chew, or

Maybe, you just like that feeling of the tin in your back pocket. You could even like the feeling on
your gums when it s in your mouth. It might even be that feeling of knowing that you chew, and
that you are of age to buy, and use it.
The effects of this decision not only have an impact on your family and friends, but yourself. Yes,
it is expensive to buy, it hurts the wallet, and you don t have the money to do fun things, because
you are spending money on an addiction, that you just can t control at times of stress.
Your family will constantly tell you to stop. It will never end. My mom tells my dad, that she
does not want his face near hers when she can smell the wintergreen, or see the dip in his mouth.
No one likes to see their parents crabby. There are reasons that parents can get stressed, like
children not listening can stress parents out. Even co workers can stress the individuals out, so they
chew to reduce the stress.
Like any addiction, there are health effects that people know about, but don t think of. Oral
cancer is a big risk. My mother knows someone that had lost part of their jaw and had to drink
from a straw the rest of their lives. Oral cancer is just one health precaution. Gums disease is a
problem as well. That will cost some money at the dentist, more money out of your wallet spent.
Should I mention tooth decay? More money at the dentist because of this addiction you can t seem

Camelot Alternate Ending
Merlin took a break from moving about Arthur s chambers, tidying up, to stare absently out the
window. The sun had risen warm and bright over Camelot today. And down below, the courtyard
was bustling with servants and guards and knights, all hurrying about to do their various separate
tasks and duties. It was just a normal morning for all of them. Nothing out of the ordinary. But as
he stared down at the scene before him, Merlin couldn t help but shudder to think how close they
had all been to not waking up to another normal day. Of course, no one else was aware of that fact.

A Rationale of the Outline Scheme of Work for Key Stage 3
A rationale of the outline scheme of work for Key Stage 3
Planning is a key part of teaching. Without a coherent plan lessons may lack structure and direction.
Long and medium term planning are an important part of this and in this rationale I hope to
demonstrate that my planning does indeed have all of these qualities.
The first element to be considered when rationalising this scheme of work is whether or not it
meets the needs of Key Stage 3 pupils. I believe that it does because the attainment focus is all
within Key Stage 3. However, this is only the very simplest level by which we can measure this
criterion. Firstly, we can also measure it by matching the scheme of work to the programme of
study. If we look at this we can see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So for example, in the topic about the good life pupils will study Buddhist monks and nuns. In
this way I think the scheme of work as greater coherence and pupils will be able to see clear
reasons for study topics.
At this point I think it would be a good idea to return to some of the philosophy behind the
scheme of work. Mainly it is thematic in approach. This is where religions are sub divided into
categories and taught like this. For example, festivals, or Holy Books may be used as themes to
teach across the religions. One strength of the thematic approach is that it points to similarities
between religions and I think that this is where most value in RE comes from. However, these
similarities are often far too superficial and can even be slightly arbitrary . For example, some
schools may teach spring festivals when the similarities between these festivals are not the time
of year at which they are held but something far more consequential. If this approach could move
past this problem it would be far more useful. Of course, we must remember that, once again this
is only how the approach is used rather than the approach itself that causes the problem. I have
tried to avoid this problem in my scheme of work by choosing topics that point to deeper
similarities such as the idea of duty or the good life. Another problem that I have tried to avoid is
confusing pupils with lots of

Analysis Of The Man Who Was Almost A Man
A Man Who Was Almost A Man was a short story written by Richard Wright. African American
writer and poet Richard Wright was born on September 4, 1908, in Roxie, Mississippi, and
published his first short story at the age of 16 (1). He s well known for the 1940 bestseller
Native Son and his 1945 autobiography Black Boy In 1927, Wright finally left the South and
moved to Chicago, where he worked at a post office and also swept streets. But like so many
Americans struggling with the Depression, Wright fell prey to bouts of poverty. Along the way, his
frustration with American capitalism led him to join the Communist Party in 1932. Wright died in
Paris, France, on November 28, 1960. This story centers on Dave, a young African American farm
worker who is struggling to declare his identity in the atmosphere of the rural South . The ManWho
Was Almost a Man , a story of an adolescent youth attempting to break free of adolescence and
enter the universe of adulthood. Baffled by being youthful, poor, and black, Dave grapples with

Importance Of School Day In American School
Length of day in American Schools
The American Educational system, which many of us students have become familiar with, did not
come about instantaneously. What we have now is the result of many decades of development and
policy making in legislation. Though Parochial schools were used in the U.S. as early as 1750,
and Government funded public schools began cropping up after the Revolutionary war, our
educational system s pace of development was relatively slow up until around the mid 19th century
when the first states began passing laws that made schooling compulsory to all those who had the
opportunity to attend. By the early 1900s, twelve years of education became the standard across the
nation, a standard that has withstood the test of time and is still in place today. The average school
day in the U.S. is 6.5 hours, and students are expected to attend 180 total days of school per grade
term. To supplement this, on average the U.S. spends more per capita on education than any other
country in the world. Though we spend much, the results don t directly translate to nation wide
success in schools. In 2014, the U.S. was ranked 14th globally in education. Many attribute this to
the average length of the school day in America, and others propose an overall increase in total
instructional hours within American schools.
As stated earlier, the average school day in America is 6.5 hours long, beginning at around 7:30am
and ending between 2 to 3pm. Within this time, students are

The pre school aims to extend its opening hours from 9am to 12:30pm to a full day operations
from 8am to 6:30pm. The planned change will include introducing extracurricular activities and
children being provided with meals, rest and sleep periods. The extending of hours will involve
substantial change in the way the pre school operates. New division will be created for food
catering and more teachers will be required for the full day pre school. The changes will affect all
the people involved and some may feel insecure or threatened in facing the change. It is natural to
feel stressed by the challenge and may resist change. To enable the pre school to continue to

In addition, the strategy would be that the staff should feel guided and focused and which can
arouse a sense of desire to implement the change. We will employ an approachable and open
channel of communication with the staff so they feel they can approach the Principal for
guidance. 4. Communicating the Change Vision To gain an understanding and commitment to
a change vision, the pre school will ensure that in addition to the staff, the parents of existing and
potential students hear and understand the vision of the pre school. The vision will be reflected
in daily communication, emails, meetings and presentations. Effective visioning requires a
willingness to consider all the options and to share information that is needed to develop them
(Gill, 2011). Frequent gatherings and meetings will be held to address people s concerns and
anxieties and their queries will be addressed taking an open and honest approach. Every detail
and achievement will be tied back to the vision to see if it reflects the vision (Gill, 2011). 5.
Empowering Employees for Broad Based Action The pre school s organizational structure
should be rearranged to fit the new functions in it. The pre school would conduct a performance
review for every staff and identify if the staff would be eligible for a promotion, a salary rise, a new
Job description, or even to check if any training is required. People resisting change will be
identified and

Adrienne Rich s Of Woman Born – The End of Motherhood Essay
Of Woman Born The End of Motherhood
In Of Woman Born, Adrienne Rich effectively weaves her own story into a convincing account of
what it means to become a mother within the bonds of patriarchal culture. Her conclusion that the
institution of motherhood, which she distinguishes from motherhood, must be destroyed in order to
release the creation and sustenance of life into the same realm of decision, struggle, surprise,
imagination, and conscious intelligence, as any other difficult, but freely chosen work is
substantiated by her courageous confession that contradicts culturally normative notions of
motherhood.

because [she] felt [her] own needs acutely and often expressed them violently (32) by raging at her
children out of frustration, provides a credible offering to break down an institution that makes
women like her angry. It also demonstrates some of the ways in which motherhood has not been
women s choice.
A reader might be stunned to consider that was written just twenty years ago and that Rich s first
pregnancy happened only forty three years ago, since her choices as an educated woman were
so limited compared to now. When her account of feeling like she was only acting as a woman
(having no idea what she wanted, and having a child because it was expected of a real woman )
is introduced, her lack of choices reads like either a dismal Margaret Atwood science fiction novel
or a scene from the very long ago past. Similary, when Rich cites her example of a primitive
attitude by quoting a doctor s medical opinion that women are psychologically unbalanced when
they attempt to resist the demands of the institution [of motherhood], (263) it is quite surprising to
realize that this opinion was written in 1967, a mere thirty years ago. In this way, Rich s story is a
tribute to all women who have fought her battle, the battle to have the freedom to choose
motherhood.
Rich must feel a deep sense of satisfaction in realizing that articulating her struggles has helped
many women. Her capacity to transcend her own circumstances is truly remarkable

Nancy Mairs Disability Analysis
If you saw a person in the mall in a wheelchair, would you judge them? Or would you look at
them like they are a normal human being? People who have a disability whether they are
physically disabled, mentally disabled, or learning disabled, are still themselves. Nancy Mairs
was forty three year old woman with multiple sclerosis. She wrote an essay, Disability , that
explained her views of her physical disability. When I see a person with a disability, either
physically or mentally, I end up taking a second look. The first idea that pops in my head is
what is wrong with the person. I know it sounds very rude of me, but it is an instinct. Modern
day society has shaped us to be weird around others who have disabilities. It saddens me to see
people in the world judge those who are disabled, however I tend to do the same thing at times.

Advantages and Problems of Genetically Modified Agricultural Crops
Genetically Modified food (GM) is most commonly used to refer to crop plants created for human
or animal consumption, using the latest molecular biology techniques. These plants have been
modified in the laboratory to enhance desired traits such as increased resistance to herbicides or
improved nutritional content. Genetic engineering can create plants with the extract desired trait,
both accurately and rapidly. For example frost can destroy sensitive seedlings, an antifreeze gene

Some Christians object in principle to genetically modified food, as an unacceptable intervention in
God s creation violating barriers in the natural world. Others see the potential for using God s
gift of our technical skills, but with strong provisos, on matters of food safety and environmental
risk. Christians believe that all of God s creatures are much more than their genes. Ethical
problems may arise for certain types of gene, for example animal genes for a vegetarian or pig
genes for a Jew or Muslim. GM has huge potential for mankind in medicine, agriculture and food.

The Staining Of Bacteria Are Known As Differential...
The staining procedures used to differentiate the types of bacteria are known as differential
technique of staining. The simple methods of staining impart same color to all types of bacteria and
other biological materials. The principle behind this differentiation is due to the variation in
physical and chemical properties of the cell. Consequently, reaction occurs differently to reagents.
In handling of the sputum when testing for the presence of bacteriapathogen one has to ensure that
there is no extraneous bacteria to contaminate the specimen. The sample is refrigerated for a
maximum of twenty four hours. The sample should not be frozen or stored at room temperature.
Ensure that the minimum amounts of the present antibiotics that inhibit bacterial growth are not
visible to the eye. One should differentiate pathogenic and normal flora bacteria. The identification
of the bacteria is a step by step process that involves biochemical, molecular and immunological
tests and observations. To determine the viable bacterial numbers in the sputum sample, the sample
is homogenized with dithiothreitol and glass beads in order to determine the method which
recovered the greatest number of viable bacteria. Continuous monitoring systems of mycobacterium
report higher contamination rates than traditional radiometric technologies. The first step in
analyzing fresh sputum is the gram stain test which seeks to identify the type of bacteria in the
sample. If the sample is seen to contain

Africa By Mckay
Claude McKay s Africa is an English sonnet also known as a traditional literary poem. It starts with
an opening The sun sought thy dim bed and brought forth light . Referring to historical and
scientific debate on of the African origins of the nation. This can also be related to biblical
terminology, dim being Africas unlighted knowledge prior to God s intervention and it also can be
inferred that he is referring to the rich melanin of descendants from Africa.
The next line, The sciences were sucklings at thy breasts, plays on theory of Africa being the
Mother Land or The Mecca .This is where essentially civilization begins, just like a mother having a
child. The mother is a natural nurturer and essentially Mckay tied in the correlation in the second
line. Mother Africa, a nurturer, raises and encourages the sciences, actions that foreshadow another
brightening of the world to come in the Enlightenment. Lines three and four are also portraying a

The reputation is now condemned, however, it is possible for Africa to be saved, by taking a
deeper look at Mckay s simple word play. If the lines read Of all the mighty nations of the sun,
/ Thou art the harlot, now thy time is done, Africa would be made out to be a wayward woman
worthy of scorn because of her blatant disregard to moral restraints. Instead, the lines state, Thou
art the harlot, now thy time is done, Of all the mighty nations of the sun. The couplet suggests in
a twisted way that Africa was pimped by the new peoples as they admire Africa s beauty and
wanted the same by any means necessary. In a Mckay s very particular placement of words, Africa
does not simply lose its honor , glory, and power; like a thief in the night and within a blink of an

Abstract: A processor consumes considerable amount of processing time in performing arithmetic
operations, particularly multiplication. Multiplication is one of the basic arithmetic operation and
makes use of more hardware resources and processing time than addition and subtraction. In fact,
multiplication is 8.72% of all the instruction in typical processing unit. In this paper comparative
study is done of four multipliers namely, Array multiplier, Modified booth multiplier, Wallace tree
multiplier and modified Booth Wallace tree multiplier based of various performance parameters
like speed, area, power consumed and circuit complexity .

The Modified Booth multiplier design uses a modified Booth encoder and selector technique to
reduce and rearrange the partial products. This reduces the number of gate count and improves
the performance of the multiplier. The Booth encoder encodes the multiplier bits using Radix 4 or
Radix 8 algorithm. A k bit binary number can be interpreted as a k/2 digit Radix 4 number, a k/3
digit Radix 8 number and so on, that deals with more than one multiplier bits in each cycle for
using high radix multiplication [6].
The modified Radix 4 Booth algorithm is widely used when the operands are equal to or greater
than 16 bits. In this algorithm, the two s complement of a multiplier is encoded in order to reduce
the number of partial products that needs to be added. The multiplier, Y can be written in two s
complement form as: [8]

Essay Comparing The Go-Between And Lolita
The author s narrative point of views portrayed in The Go Between by L.P. Hartley and in Lolita

The Go Between, the story is narrated by the child victim Leo Colston, and in Lolita the narrator is
Humbert Humbert, the adult stepfather who sexually and emotionally abuses Lolita. This essay will
summarize the different points of views by both narrators and how the reader response to and

Nabokov also allows Humbert to narrate the details of his life with Lolita, in which the story
illustrates the difficulties intrinsic in an attempt to order familiarity through art.
As Humbert tries to develop an ideal vision of his relationship with Lolita, he manipulates the
readers responses to him in order to gain sympathy and to affect a deferment of judgment. Humbert
presents a poetic representation of Lolita and his life with her. Humbert admits I hope I am
addressing myself to unbiased readers. (285)
In an effort to provide himself with a justification for his fixation with Lolita, Humbert details his
relationship with Annabel, Lolita s predecessor at the beginning of the novel. Of his teenager
relationship with Annabel, he writes the spiritual and the physical had been blended in us with a
perfection that must remain incomprehensible to the matter of fact, crude, standard brained

relationship, as well as his relationship with Lolita. In the end, though, catastrophic realism emerges

Music is a universal form of entertainment and was extremely prevalent during the 1920 s. Black
males originally only played jazz music from Louisiana, but soon it spread across big urban
cities like New York and Chicago. Jazz music quickly became a signature sound for the era. After
all, Jazz was a style of music that most people during that time may not have known existed. The
cultural expansion of such artists like Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton took America by
storm. Jazz music was popular amongst both the upper and lower social classes. Jazz was so
popular that people began making dances like the Charleston. Dancing and music were only two
of the forms of entertainment during this period. However, there were so many more
entertainment options. There were films. Studies show that 100 million Americans went to see
the movies every week by the end of the year 1929 (bbc.com). Films were like modern day fashion
news. The films kept all of the women up to date with the new styles and norms of the society. For

Concussion Movie Analysis
Movie Review Concussion, the biographical sports drama, is a movie directed by Peter
Landesman. It is based on a true story of a Nigerian doctor named Dr. Bennet Omalu who is
played by Will Smith. Finding his way into America as a surgeon, he encountered and diagnosed a
former American Football player after their death. Dr. Bennet has to faced against a billion dollar
organization, the national Football League, in order to justify his researches and enforce it to be
publicity. The movie shows hardship and unfairness of the football company to Dr. Bennet Omalu.
This movie have three particular points that audience should consider and notice. Director, Peter
Landesman, was able to created the movie in a realistic and reliable way to the scenes. Though the
movie was realistic, certain parts of the movie was out of context and confusing. Especially the actor
expressions and feelings toward each other, they did not successfully execute properly to make it
believable. It is an amazing and educated two hours movie, yet it felt as if there are missing scenes
in the movie.
The actor as Dr. Bennet is the famous actor Will Smith, and he have been a major star in many
filming companies, and shown many great performance in his acting. Will Smith was able to
convince in his role as Dr. Bennet by his skills as an actor, his belief in science, and submission
against a corrupt and refusal association. Will Smith, as Dr. Bennet, successfully created a great

Villain Protagonist
A villain is a person who tries to stop, kill, or destroy the protagonist in a story. The villain is a
very important part to any story. The villain is rude, evil, and nasty. They are often known as the
antagonist. Without a villain there wouldn t even be a story. A villain can be likable or very
hated. A lot of times the villain can be someone that the protagonist trusted. It can be family
members or teammates or good people turned evil. The best villain I know is Kellog. He is the
main protagonist in Fallout 4. After being locked in vault 111 because of several nuclear bombs
hitting the U.S.A. our main protagonist finds himself and family being frozen in a cryogenic test
pods. Then while everybody is still frozen the protagonist

Narrative Essay On Maria Carson And Jessie
Late on a Saturday afternoon, Maria Carson and her friend, Jessie, sat working on their history
assignment at the local library. Jessie was a procrastinator, so Maria had to constantly coax and
push her to progress through the assignment in order to finish it on time. Even that Saturday
afternoon, Jessie wanted to catch a movie instead and Maria felt quite annoyed and disappointed
with her attitude. Frustrated, Maria designated the remaining tasks evenly deciding to meet again
at a later date and left for home. It was a muggy summer s evening and of course with her luck,
there was a curtain like downpour of rain as she made a dash to her car. Distracted and irate, Maria

She felt good to be so loved. At school the following week, the students also showed a lot of care
and concern and put up lovely notes and messages for her to find on her locker, but then she was
always the smart and popular kid. As things settled and she went to the school cafeteria over
lunch, she waved out to her friends, Jessie and Rebecca, who completely ignored her. To make it
worse, they sat in the booth right behind her, which is how she overheard them talking about her.
The truth hurts but it doesn t kill; but sometimes it is better not to know. Maria overheard Jessie
reveal how she really felt about her. Maria thought, What?! Me, judgemental, arrogant and
demanding? How nasty of her! Later at the change rooms before sports she heard, from behind
the cubical door, the girls banter, Have you heard what happened to Maria? ...she always a bit of

sudden and sad revelations, Maria went home to find some comfort only to find a mayhem of cars

Lack of Diversity in Management Coaching in Sports Essay...
In recent history it has been evident that some of the most popularize sports in America have
been dominated and overran by African American and other minority athletes. In turn when the
coaching and management positions in sports are analyzed and broken down, the number of
minority coaches and managers in sport are almost non existent and have been since those sports

all college enrollments, and nearly 24% of all collegiate scholarship athletes. In some major

This is an issue that has become to be expected in both collegiate and professional sports
(Anonymous, 36 37). It may not be thought about much but there are some racial games that are
played. Although the Rooney Rule has at least given minority head coaches a chance to
potentially get hired because they actually get a chance to get an interview, many still see it as
just a rule put into place to make it seem like everything is equal and to save face from scrutiny
about racial issues in sport. In 2003, Mike Millen the president of the Detroit Lions was fined for
not interviewing a minority. He was not fined for intentionally not interviewing minority coaches,
he actually contacted five different minority coaches and each of them turned the request for an
interview down. Each of them felt like the job was already Steve Mariucci and felt like they were
just being interviewed just so that the Detroit Lions could fill their obligation to interview a
minority coach. The problem not only lies with collegiate and professional sports organizations and
the issue of not interviewing and hiring more minority coaches and managers but also stems from
this minorities feeling that they don t have a fair shot at the position. Some minorities looking for a
head coaching position also have negative feelings towards getting called up for an interview just
because of rule that was put into place that forces teams to do this. Some feel like if the Rooney

A Research Study On Autism Spectrum Disorder ( Asd )
According to Purdue Owl, a research paper is defined as the culmination and final product of an
involved process of research, critical thinking, source evaluation, organization, and composition.
The preliminary and most important step of writing a research paper is, unsurprisingly, the research
itself as it provides the writer the essential information to create the paper. In the past, collecting
information required hours of pulling information from journals and books that had to be first
evaluated for credibility based on the author or organization that published the source. However, the
emergence of the Internet now allows users to easily obtain information from multiple resources at

My First Vacation Essay
First Vacation
I never thought I would be going on a vacation until my thirties; thank the lord that I have nice,
kind, generous friend. We talked and talked about him taking me to Turks and Caicos with him
and his family. He goes there every year and said his family had a timeshare and enough points
saved up to take up to three extra people with them. Knowing him, I thought that we would just
talk about it and never actually go like always. I received a text message one sunday around five
o clock telling me to go buy a passport. The joy I felt inside was indescribable, it had felt like I
have on the super bowl. I screamed at my mom all through the house waking up everyone who was
trying to sleep in, to take me to the court house. I sprinted into the building all the way up to the
second floor, walled into a room to get my passport. It took me about ten minutes to fill out the
information, sign a couple of things, and pay the twenty dollar fee. I was already getting butterflies
just thinking about leaving the country, better yet getting onto a plane for the first time. When it
was time to get onto the plane I was restless. I couldn t sleep because I was so excited, plus we
were heading out at three in the morning. We left the greats small town in Missouri, Mexico. The
time was five in the morning when we arrived to the airport. I was tring play it cool on the shuttle

Why The North Won The Civil War Dbq
The civil war was a battle between the union and the confederacy to preserve the union. The war
took 4 years for the north to win, and near the end of the war, the north was also fighting to end
slavery. The north won the war because they had more resources, better strategies, and better
transportation. First off, the north had more resources. This can easily be seen when looking at
the North versus South chart. The chart shows different types of resources, such as workers,
factories, railroads, firearms, and a few other useful things that are needed for a war. The graph
then shows a bar graph for each of those resources, showing in each one, that north has a big
advantage over south with that resource. Firearms, for example, is a resource... Show more content

This can be seen in the Major Battles of the Civil War map. The map shows all of the battles that
took place during the civil war. The map also shows big line all around the confederate states in
the water, named Union blockade of Ports. This line is showing where they had ships positioned
so no resources could get in or out of the south. (Document 2). This document shows that the
Union had a plan for this war that was more strategic than just fighting to the death. This plan
was called the anaconda plan, and it was a plan to squeeze the confederate states out of
resources. This line of Union blockade were on water, and land. During the war, the Union
blockade became smaller and smaller, containing all of the confederacy to a smaller area. This is
one way that helped the Union win the war in the end. Another example of the Union having
better strategies than the Confederacy is Sherman s Scorched Earth Campaign. Plantations were
burned, crops destroyed and stores of food pillaged. In the wake of his progress to the sea he left
numerous Sherman sentinels (the chimneys of burnt out houses) and Sherman neckties (railroad
rails that had been heated and wrapped around trees.). Along the way, his army was joined by
thousands of former slaves who brought up the rear of the march because they had no other place
to go. (Document 7). This part of the text explains how Sherman s Scorched Earth campaign was

The Existence Of God. Throughout The Years As Human Beings
The Existence of God Throughout the years as human beings keep learning about the world we are
finding out that we are living in a world where evil surrounds us. This belief conflicts with the
beliefs of theism, one who believes in a God or Gods, especially a personal God who s in control of
the world. If there was an all powerful, all knowing, and all good God, then he should have the
knowledge that there s evil in the world, he should have the benevolence to want to stop the evil,
and he should have the ability to make the evil vanish. We can know that the problem of evil exists
in the world by having to experience it only a few times and the suffering caused by this evil is

An uncontrollable and unnecessary evil is the example of all powerful, all knowing, and all evil
being known as Satan. Some try to justify evil by blaming it on Satan. God doesn t create evil;
Satan does (taken from Doing Philosophy, Lewis Vaughn). This argument helps solidify the
theistic beliefs that there s an all powerful, all knowing, and all good God who is aware of how
much evils is brought in the world by humans and is able to control it and keep it in equilibrium
with the good. If we were controlled by a force beyond our control like God, then we would be
perfectly good beings who would always choose the good decision over the evil one. Some of
the evil in this world is said to be caused by humans and the choices we choose. This is
implemented that we live in a world where our actions aren t constrained by any limiting factor,
meaning we have the freewill to choose to act on our own moral values and choose between evil
or good. These people believe that, the price we pay for having free will is the existence of evil
(taken from Doing Philosophy, Lewis Vaughn). Although some argue that, a being who has free
will and yet always choose the good does not seem to be logically impossible (taken from Doing
Philosophy, Lewis Vaughn) we get a sense that we aren t born that way since we all were raised

This in my opinion was a very interesting account of American Indian rituals. Lame Deer did a
great job on comparing and contrasting the white folks way of life with his own. He told us how
Indian children are typically never left alone which gives us a better understanding on why he
was so afraid of being alone on the hilltop. I feel like in this story I really got a better
understanding of the Indian way of life. They seem to be very tight knit group who value tradition
above everything. Family seems to be the most important theme as demonstrated by his
grandmothers willingness to cut forty pieces of her own flesh in order to make the rattle. This
whole aspect about them is admirable but at the same time I feel like they don t really take any
actual logic into account. The whole vision determines your life labor seem really fallible in my
opinion. I can t really relate to this story in the sense that I have never really experienced any of
these things as im not a Sioux. I do think though that this story can be related into our modern
world in the sense that many kids are pushed into choosing a life career at a relatively young age.

some extent I found admirable that he at such a young age had already known what his life s

Start Pharmaceutical Development Company
Start Pharmaceutical development companies are an example of a service characterized by high
fixed costs and low marginalized costs. The fixed costs are very high because of the extremely high
costs of developing a new drug. To bring a new drug to market costs hundreds of millions of dollars
and is very risky. For a drugto be brought to market the Food and Drug Administration must
approve of the drug. Then after the drug is approved it can be sold. The research and development
costs are spent before any units of the drug are produced, so the companies are left with very
high fixed costs. The highly automated drug production facilities also contribute to the high fixed
costs because building the high tech factories is very expensive. However, after the factory is
built the marginal costs are very low in this industry because producing 1 more tablet or dose of
the drug is very cheap because of the small amount of materials cost.... Show more content on

the children will think she s immoral if she does, and should only see Mother with one man, the
father. However, you can t stop living because of your children, and it may be that your child
resents your datingbecause you feel ashamed of it. Moreover, dating in a child s mind does not
necessarily mean sleeping together. When you feel ready to date, sit down and talk to your child if
you feel it will help you become more comfortable about dating. You can say, I d like to begin to
date and I m feeling uncomfortable. I expected to be married forever, but it didn t work and I can t
stop loving. How do you feel about it? If the child says, I hate... Show more content on

If you are actually considering this, it can be overwhelming to see all the different choices and
you want to make sure you pick the right one. I played on some dating sites, mainly just to meet
some people to talk to online; I was too chicken to actually meet in person unless I could take
one of my friends with me for safety measures, because you never know! But I did find luck on
American Singles and while it is not for everyone, I found them fairly decent and I m glad I
signed up because I actually had luck with the site! I tried eHarmony along with plenty others and
they of course claim to be able to match you with someone that is compatible to your preferences
basically. They have grown profusely since first starting out in 2000. The thing that bothered me
most about eHarmony was the profile you had to fill out. This was seriously really long and
took so much time I would make it half way through and take a break because I was tired of
answering so many questions. I realize this makes a huge difference in matching you with
someone compatible, but at the same time, it wouldn t be so bad if you could do so much and
then save and continue the rest later on. Unless you just have that much free time to do it.
Eharmony has 4 plans you can choose from. They have a one month, three month, six month and a
year membership plans. You receive a $40 dollar

Essay on Guajilote Case Study
Guajilote Case Study
This essay examines the case study of the Guajilote co operative, a co operative with a licence to
collect and sell fallen timber in the Honduras. The paper is in five sections; giving an impression
of the co operative as a business venture, conducting a SWOT analysis of the company, looking at
any competitive advantage or strategy. Describing the value chain and considering strategic
alternatives open to the co operative.
Solution
1. The business is certainly located in rural areas and considerations of how this may affect tribal
people should be considered. The use of natural resources can be profitable but environmental

4. The value chain is: Site (forests) gt; Transport (carts and river) gt; Collection (distributors) gt;
Sale (manufacturers) gt; Exporting (USA and Europe). 5. This company s strategic alternatives
include: co operating with Cites. Develop a sound strategy that for every tree felled, 10 new trees
will be planted. Convince the government of Honduras that their natural resource needs to be
protected and developed. This includes providing jobs for workers in greenhouses cultivating the
seedlings. A proportion of the sale of the wood could be allocated to the development of new
schools and clinics in rural Honduras. The local population, via the co operation of village
headmen, need to be educated on the importance of conserving their environment. Children need to
be taught this at schools via the provision of posters and books.
GUAJILOTE COOPERATIVO FORESTAL, HONDURAS
Nathan Nebbe and J. David Hunger
Guajilote (pronounced wa hee low tay) Cooperativo Forestal was a forestry cooperative that
operated out of Chaparral, a small village located in the buffer zone of La Muralla National Park
in Honduras Olancho province. Olancho was one of 18 Honduran provinces and was located inland
bordering Nicaragua. The cooperative was one result of a relatively new movement among
international donor agencies promoting sustainable economic development of developing countries
natural resources. A cooperative in Honduras was similar to a cooperative in the United

The Importance Of Volunteering At The Bakersfield Spca
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Bakersfield SPCA. Volunteering here was very
rewarding as I was able to provide care for cats and dogs who may never get adopted. My
responsibilities consisted of cleaning the cats kennels and making them presentable to any potential
adopters. This consisted of wiping the outside of the kennels and replacing the catlitter boxes so the
cats would have a clean place to use. I also cleaned the inside of the kennels and provided them
with water and food. Through this process I began meeting the cats as they would approach me to
see what was going on. I realized that most of the cats were either grey with black markings or
entirely black which meant that they had a less of a chance of getting adopted... Show more content

Such as climbing structures, scratching post or a place to run (2/26/17). In an attempt to meet the
cat s telos I got to spend time grooming and socializing the animals in an effort to make them more
sociable which would make them more adoptable.
I also provided the dogs with the opportunity to get out of their small enclosure and to feel the
grass underneath their paws. While speaking to one of the workers I was told that the animals do
not get to come out of their kennels to often because, since the shelter is a nonprofit shelter they
depend a lot on the donations from the public. Which means that they can only hire the exact
amount of people that will help perform the necessary duties but they lack the extra help that can
help with taking the dogs out or grooming the cats. For this reason, they depend greatly on the
community to go in and volunteer.
Animal shelters and the community The Bakersfield SPCA is one of the smallest shelters within
Bakersfield. They depend greatly on the community to help sponsor animals. This means that the
community members, depending on the type of animal, will provide a starting kit which include
food, bedding, and a scratching post to the adopters. The animals who were sponsor by the
community are cats that are older or have been at the shelter longer than the rest. This is a form of
trying to save as many animals as possible by defining the animal as a shelter mascot (3/28/2017).
Which will give those animals

Research Paper On Richard Feynman
Feynman was born in Queens New York in May of 1918. He was raised by his Mother, a
housewife, and his father, a salesman. It is said that his father and mother were both biggest
supporters of science. Richard s father, Melville Feynman, was a business man whom had a
passion for science. He motivated Richard to pursue a career in science, something of which he
had wanted to do for himself, but could not. His mother, Lucille, encouraged him to find humor
in turn for which created a powerful persona for Richard throughout his life. Interestingly
enough, Richard did not even begin to speak words until after he was 3 years old. Richard had one
brother and one sister. His brother died at only 4 weeks old when Richard was 5. His sister s name...

Feynman was diagnosed with abdominal cancer in the 1980s and died in 1988 after years of

Single Wired Female Essay
Single Wired Female by Greg Dragon is a book in the science fiction/thriller genre. It is the second
book by the author, set in the same universe as the previous one, Re wired, and revolves around a
character from the previous novel.
Bonnie O Neal is talented, successful and rich. Problem is she cannot remember any of it. After
four months of comatose condition, Bonnie wakes up to learn that an attempt on her life by her
ex husband landed her in the hospital, and caused her memory lapse. Bonnie is recovering from
her memory loss, with only one slight glitch: the memories belong to someone else. Whose past
has invaded her brain? What is reason behind her sudden awareness and understanding of
androids? Is Bonnie s attempted murder a simple case of revenge or is it part of a more sinister
conspiracy that has repercussions for the whole world? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought
provoking. Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed
feelings about the same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be
disappointed while the newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what
really impressed me was the slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book.
The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android
construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to
assume that it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible.
The story goes a step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at
times subject to molestation, because an android can t complain, can

The Artist Of Brownstones By Jacob Lawrence
Topic 1: Brownstones is a bit of abstract art depicting a group of what appear to be African
Americans going about their lives on a busy street. This is a clear piece of the architecture that
led to the swelling civil rights movement of the 50s. During the 1920s and 1930s, as a result of
the combined forces of the Great Migration, the Depression, the Jazz Era, and the Harlem
Renaissance, Harlem was transformed into a community with a unique identity. A sanctuary for
African American art, this new cultural oasis enjoyed a sense of optimism in spite of economic
difficulties. Like many writers and artists of his time, Jacob Lawrence, the artist of Brownstones,
was inspired by the dynamic vitality of the Harlem community. One of the more interesting
aspects of this is the communal response that was brought about by the Renaissance . Initially
during the civil rights movement it was students who marched at the forefront, those with
nothing to lose and everything to gain. However, over time the movement blossomed fully, and
those from all walks of life stepped up to defend liberty. In the wake of the assassination of
Martin Luther King, we as a nation(most of us anyway) stood as one against oppression and
hatred. We fought the good fight, without weapons or blows, but with dollars, steps and words. It
wasn t a war though. You don t win wars by dying for your country, you win by making the other
guy die for his. This was a rebellion, two sides claimed they held the same

Mission Statement Of A Company
Mission Statement:
The mission statement of a company is the first step in the strategic management framework
(Okumus). It is a statement that briefly describes the purpose for the existence of the company, in
other words, why the company was created. This statement is important to the success of an
organization because it is the foundation that organizational plans, strategies, and decisions are
made from. The mission statement of a company communicates to it stakeholders about a company
s products, services, targeted customers, geographic markets, philosophies, and values and plans for
future growth (strategic management insight). Below is the current mission statement of Coca Cola:
To refresh the world in mind, body and spirit, To... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over all the mission statement of Coca Cola does not explain to its stakeholders the reason for the
company s creation clearly enough to be the focus of the company. This could cause problems when
the company is formulating strategies, planning for the future, or making daily decisions that
should be guided by the purpose of the company. Since Coca Cola does not have its mission
statement clearly defined it could be seen as a threat on a SWOT analysis because this ultimately
can affect the company. Employees within the company may interrupt the mission statement
differently and therefore implement a plan of action that does not meet up with the purpose of the
company resulting in damage to the stakeholders.
Vision Statement/Goals:
Where the mission statement is there to clearly state the purpose of the creation of the business the
vision statement is created to state the ultimate goals of the company. This statement answers the
question what does our business what to become? and guides all employees within the organization
towards that ultimate goal. The vision statement for

Alchemy And Greek Culture
Alchemy is mainly concerned with discovering different methods of changing ordinary metals
into gold or to find a universal elixir. It is a form of chemistry practiced in the Middle Ages. The
journey of Alchemy takes place in Egypt where the word Khem had been applied in reference to
the fertility of the food plains near the Nile. Egyptian beliefs in the hereafter and mummification
procedure probably gave rise to rudimentary chemical knowledge and a goal of immortality.
Later, Greek had conquered Egypt where the ways of Egyptians intrigued Greek philosophers.
Greek views of how matter is contained of the 4 elements of nature had been merged with
Egyptian sacred science. The Greek word for Egypt resulted in Khemia The Arabs added the word

dedicates his whole time and effort into his favorite sport which is boxing. Boxing to rocky was
wasn t only fun loving sport to him it was also hard working and risks. After all his matches he
was fully prepared for his all time big match in his hometown in Philadelphia against the world wide
champions.
During the year of 1776 there was a man named Rocky Balboa who lived in Philadelphia in a tough
neighborhood. While boxing to make a living he didn t make enough, so he became a hustler for a
man named Buddy to earn extra cash, During those struggling times rocky began to develop

big of anger on how Micky changed with this news but I was also happy.
The message of this film was to show the audience not to give up during tough times in life and to

Drinking Bottled Water
Many people all around the globe are shifting their attention from natural drinking water and are
becoming addicted to the bottled water in the past few years. But my opinion is slight different
from these people. According to me drinking bottled water is not a good thing because it can affect
any individual s health and wealth too and it is also affecting the environment in an adverse way.
Drinking bottled watercan affect people s health in a direct or indirect way. For instance, many
plastic water bottlesare made using the chemical polyethylene terephthalate or PET and the
scientists have found that PET bottles leach a dangerous toxin called antimony into the water they
contain. Secondly, these water bottles can also create trouble

Cinderella Stereotypes
All eyes are on Halloween costumes worn by kids and adults alike for the October 31 event. Year
in and year out, the holiday brings out ghoulish costumes of zombies, vampires, ghosts, witches,
and other macabre creatures.
However, some revelers opt to wear the clothes of movie or cartoon characters such as Captain
Hook, Belle or Aladdin. But some experts frown on princess costumes for little girls, Fortune
reported.
Stereotype female behavior
The objection of Sarah Coyne, a family life professor at the Brigham Young University, is that the
more the children watched Disney movies with princess characters and played with princess
products, the more the girls likely were to display stereotype female behavior. It is manifested in
the girls not being confident in math and science. They also do not like getting dirty.
Coyne, who did a study on the behaviors of 198 pre schoolers, agrees with the observation of
author Peggy Orenstein, who wrote Cinderella Ate My Daughter. The 2011 book stated that the
obsession of young girls with princesses is unnatural. Orenstein said that it is the result of
aggressive marketing strategies of Disney.
Rebecca Hains, the assistant director of the Center for Childhood and Youth Studies at Salem
University, added that the Disney princess brand suggests that the most important asset of a girl is
her beauty. It will encourage her to have an unhealthy preoccupation with physical appearance.
Another implication of the brand is that she must be sweet

These changes have brought about dramatic alterations in land use patterns and rapid disappearance of valuable natural ecosystems. The need for more water, more food, more energy, more consumer goods, is not only the result of a greater population, but also the result of over utilization of resources by people from the more affluent societies, and the affluent sections of our own. Industrial development is aimed at meeting growing demands for all consumer items. However, these consumer goods also generate waste in ever larger quantities. The growth of industrial complexes has led to a shift of people from their traditional, sustainable, rural way of life to urban centers that developed around industry. During the last few decades, several small urban centers have become large cities, some have even become giant mega cities. This has increased the disparity between what the surrounding land can produce and what the large number of increasingly consumer oriented people in these areas of high population density consume. • 6. A Rationale of the Outline Scheme of Work for Key Stage 3 A rationale of the outline scheme of work for Key Stage 3 Planning is a key part of teaching. Without a coherent plan lessons may lack structure and direction. Long and medium term planning are an important part of this and in this rationale I hope to demonstrate that my planning does indeed have all of these qualities. The first element to be considered when rationalising this scheme of work is whether or not it meets the needs of Key Stage 3 pupils. I believe that it does because the attainment focus is all within Key Stage 3. However, this is only the very simplest level by which we can measure this criterion. Firstly, we can also measure it by matching the scheme of work to the programme of study. If we look at this we can see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So for example, in the topic about the good life pupils will study Buddhist monks and nuns. In this way I think the scheme of work as greater coherence and pupils will be able to see clear reasons for study topics. At this point I think it would be a good idea to return to some of the philosophy behind the scheme of work. Mainly it is thematic in approach. This is where religions are sub divided into categories and taught like this. For example, festivals, or Holy Books may be used as themes to teach across the religions. One strength of the thematic approach is that it points to similarities between religions and I think that this is where most value in RE comes from. However, these similarities are often far too superficial and can even be slightly arbitrary . For example, some schools may teach spring festivals when the similarities between these festivals are not the time of year at which they are held but something far more consequential. If this approach could move past this problem it would be far more useful. Of course, we must remember that, once again this is only how the approach is used rather than the approach itself that causes the problem. I have tried to avoid this problem in my scheme of work by choosing topics that point to deeper similarities such as the idea of duty or the good life. Another problem that I have tried to avoid is confusing pupils with lots of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Importance Of School Day In American School Length of day in American Schools The American Educational system, which many of us students have become familiar with, did not come about instantaneously. What we have now is the result of many decades of development and policy making in legislation. Though Parochial schools were used in the U.S. as early as 1750, and Government funded public schools began cropping up after the Revolutionary war, our educational system s pace of development was relatively slow up until around the mid 19th century when the first states began passing laws that made schooling compulsory to all those who had the opportunity to attend. By the early 1900s, twelve years of education became the standard across the nation, a standard that has withstood the test of time and is still in place today. The average school day in the U.S. is 6.5 hours, and students are expected to attend 180 total days of school per grade term. To supplement this, on average the U.S. spends more per capita on education than any other country in the world. Though we spend much, the results don t directly translate to nation wide success in schools. In 2014, the U.S. was ranked 14th globally in education. Many attribute this to the average length of the school day in America, and others propose an overall increase in total instructional hours within American schools. It also demonstrates some of the ways in which motherhood has not been women s choice. A reader might be stunned to consider that was written just twenty years ago and that Rich s first pregnancy happened only forty three years ago, since her choices as an educated woman were so limited compared to now. When her account of feeling like she was only acting as a woman (having no idea what she wanted, and having a child because it was expected of a real woman ) is introduced, her lack of choices reads like either a dismal Margaret Atwood science fiction novel or a scene from the very long ago past. Similary, when Rich cites her example of a primitive attitude by quoting a doctor s medical opinion that women are psychologically unbalanced when they attempt to resist the demands of the institution [of motherhood], (263) it is quite surprising to realize that this opinion was written in 1967, a mere thirty years ago. In this way, Rich s story is a tribute to all women who have fought her battle, the battle to have the freedom to choose motherhood. Jessie was a procrastinator, so Maria had to constantly coax and push her to progress through the assignment in order to finish it on time. Even that Saturday afternoon, Jessie wanted to catch a movie instead and Maria felt quite annoyed and disappointed with her attitude. Frustrated, Maria designated the remaining tasks evenly deciding to meet again at a later date and left for home. To make it worse, they sat in the booth right behind her, which is how she overheard them talking about her. The truth hurts but it doesn t kill; but sometimes it is better not to know. In 2003, Mike Millen the president of the Detroit Lions was fined for not interviewing a minority. Each of them felt like the job was already Steve Mariucci and felt like they were just being interviewed just so that the Detroit Lions could fill their obligation to interview a minority coach. The problem not only lies with collegiate and professional sports organizations and the issue of not interviewing and hiring more minority coaches and managers but also stems from this minorities feeling that they don t have a fair shot at the position. The war took 4 years for the north to win, and near the end of the war, the north was also fighting to end slavery. The north won the war because they had more resources, better strategies, and better transportation. First off, the north had more resources. This can easily be seen when looking at the North versus South chart. The chart shows different types of resources, such as workers, factories, railroads, firearms, and a few other useful things that are needed for a war. The graph then shows a bar graph for each of those resources, showing in each one, that north has a big advantage over south with that resource. Firearms, for example, is a resource... This document shows that the Union had a plan for this war that was more strategic than just fighting to the death. This plan was called the anaconda plan, and it was a plan to squeeze the confederate states out of resources. This line of Union blockade were on water, and land. During the war, the Union blockade became smaller and smaller, containing all of the confederacy to a smaller area. This is one way that helped the Union win the war in the end. Another example of the Union having better strategies than the Confederacy is Sherman s Scorched Earth Campaign. Plantations were burned, crops destroyed and stores of food pillaged. In the wake of his progress to the sea he left numerous Sherman sentinels (the chimneys of burnt out houses) and Sherman neckties (railroad rails that had been heated and wrapped around trees.). This is implemented that we live in a world where our actions aren t constrained by any limiting factor, meaning we have the freewill to choose to act on our own moral values and choose between evil or good. • 41. The Importance Of Volunteering At The Bakersfield Spca I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Bakersfield SPCA. Volunteering here was very rewarding as I was able to provide care for cats and dogs who may never get adopted. My responsibilities consisted of cleaning the cats kennels and making them presentable to any potential adopters. This consisted of wiping the outside of the kennels and replacing the catlitter boxes so the cats would have a clean place to use. I also cleaned the inside of the kennels and provided them with water and food. Through this process I began meeting the cats as they would approach me to see what was going on. I realized that most of the cats were either grey with black markings or entirely black which meant that they had a less of a chance of getting adopted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such as climbing structures, scratching post or a place to run (2/26/17). In an attempt to meet the cat s telos I got to spend time grooming and socializing the animals in an effort to make them more sociable which would make them more adoptable. I also provided the dogs with the opportunity to get out of their small enclosure and to feel the grass underneath their paws. While speaking to one of the workers I was told that the animals do not get to come out of their kennels to often because, since the shelter is a nonprofit shelter they depend a lot on the donations from the public. Which means that they can only hire the exact amount of people that will help perform the necessary duties but they lack the extra help that can help with taking the dogs out or grooming the cats. For this reason, they depend greatly on the community to go in and volunteer. Animal shelters and the community The Bakersfield SPCA is one of the smallest shelters within Bakersfield. They depend greatly on the community to help sponsor animals. This means that the community members, depending on the type of animal, will provide a starting kit which include food, bedding, and a scratching post to the adopters. The animals who were sponsor by the community are cats that are older or have been at the shelter longer than the rest. This is a form of trying to save as many animals as possible by defining the animal as a shelter mascot (3/28/2017). Which will give those animals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought provoking. Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed feelings about the same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be disappointed while the newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what really impressed me was the slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book. The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to assume that it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible. The story goes a step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at times subject to molestation, because an android can t complain, can ... • 44. The Artist Of Brownstones By Jacob Lawrence Topic 1: Brownstones is a bit of abstract art depicting a group of what appear to be African Americans going about their lives on a busy street. This is a clear piece of the architecture that led to the swelling civil rights movement of the 50s. During the 1920s and 1930s, as a result of the combined forces of the Great Migration, the Depression, the Jazz Era, and the Harlem Renaissance, Harlem was transformed into a community with a unique identity. A sanctuary for African American art, this new cultural oasis enjoyed a sense of optimism in spite of economic difficulties. Like many writers and artists of his time, Jacob Lawrence, the artist of Brownstones, was inspired by the dynamic vitality of the Harlem community. One of the more interesting aspects of this is the communal response that was brought about by the Renaissance . Initially during the civil rights movement it was students who marched at the forefront, those with nothing to lose and everything to gain. However, over time the movement blossomed fully, and those from all walks of life stepped up to defend liberty. In the wake of the assassination of Martin Luther King, we as a nation(most of us anyway) stood as one against oppression and hatred. We fought the good fight, without weapons or blows, but with dollars, steps and words. It wasn t a war though. You don t win wars by dying for your country, you win by making the other guy die for his. This was a rebellion, two sides claimed they held the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a statement that briefly describes the purpose for the existence of the company, in other words, why the company was created. This statement is important to the success of an organization because it is the foundation that organizational plans, strategies, and decisions are made from. The mission statement of a company communicates to it stakeholders about a company s products, services, targeted customers, geographic markets, philosophies, and values and plans for future growth (strategic management insight). Over all the mission statement of Coca Cola does not explain to its stakeholders the reason for the company s creation clearly enough to be the focus of the company. This could cause problems when the company is formulating strategies, planning for the future, or making daily decisions that should be guided by the purpose of the company. Since Coca Cola does not have its mission statement clearly defined it could be seen as a threat on a SWOT analysis because this ultimately can affect the company. Employees within the company may interrupt the mission statement differently and therefore implement a plan of action that does not meet up with the purpose of the company resulting in damage to the stakeholders. Vision Statement/Goals: Where the mission statement is there to clearly state the purpose of the creation of the business the vision statement is created to state the ultimate goals of the company. This statement answers the question what does our business what to become? and guides all employees within the organization towards that ultimate goal. The vision statement for ... • 49. Cinderella Stereotypes All eyes are on Halloween costumes worn by kids and adults alike for the October 31 event. Year in and year out, the holiday brings out ghoulish costumes of zombies, vampires, ghosts, witches, and other macabre creatures. However, some revelers opt to wear the clothes of movie or cartoon characters such as Captain Hook, Belle or Aladdin. But some experts frown on princess costumes for little girls, Fortune reported. Stereotype female behavior The objection of Sarah Coyne, a family life professor at the Brigham Young University, is that the more the children watched Disney movies with princess characters and played with princess products, the more the girls likely were to display stereotype female behavior. It is manifested in the girls not being confident in math and science. They also do not like getting dirty. Coyne, who did a study on the behaviors of 198 pre schoolers, agrees with the observation of author Peggy Orenstein, who wrote Cinderella Ate My Daughter. The 2011 book stated that the obsession of young girls with princesses is unnatural. Orenstein said that it is the result of aggressive marketing strategies of Disney. Rebecca Hains, the assistant director of the Center for Childhood and Youth Studies at Salem University, added that the Disney princess brand suggests that the most important asset of a girl is her beauty. It will encourage her to have an unhealthy preoccupation with physical appearance. Another implication of the brand is that she must be sweet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
