Kernel Recipes 2017: Using Linux perf at NetflixBrendan Gregg
Talk for Kernel Recipes 2017 by Brendan Gregg. "Linux perf is a crucial performance analysis tool at Netflix, and is used by a self-service GUI for generating CPU flame graphs and other reports. This sounds like an easy task, however, getting perf to work properly in VM guests running Java, Node.js, containers, and other software, has been at times a challenge. This talk summarizes Linux perf, how we use it at Netflix, the various gotchas we have encountered, and a summary of advanced features."
Z4R: Intro to Storage and DFSMS for z/OSTony Pearson
This session covers basic storage concepts for z/OS operating system with examples for Flash, Disk and Tape devices and how to use DFSMS policy-based management. Presented at IBM TechU in Johannesburg, South Africa September 2019
A Parallel Sysplex is a cluster of IBM mainframes acting together as a single system image with z/OS that cooperate, using certain hardware and software products, to process work. Used for disaster recovery, Parallel Sysplex combines data sharing and parallel computing to allow a cluster of up to 32 mainframes to share a workload for high performance and high availability.Parallel Sysplex is analogous in concept to a UNIX cluster – allow the customer to operate multiple copies of the operating system as a single system. This allows systems to be added or removed as needed, while applications continue to run.
Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS) is an end to end application availability solution. It is the ultimate disaster recovery and continuous availability solution for a multi-site enterprise. GDPS disk replication technology enhances the resiliency and provides continues availability of data by masking disk outages.

Virtualization with KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine)Novell
As a technical preview, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 contains KVM, which is the next-generation virtualization software delivered with the Linux kernel. In this technical session we will demonstrate how to set up SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 for KVM, install some virtual machines and deal with different storage and networking setups.
To demonstrate live migration we will also show a distributed replicated block device (DRBD) setup and a setup based on iSCSI and OCFS2, which are included in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 High Availability Extension.
Boosting I/O Performance with KVM io_uringShapeBlue
Storage performance is becoming much more important. KVM io_uring attempts to bring the I/O performance of a virtual machine on almost the same level of bare metal. Apache CloudStack has support for io_uring since version 4.16. Wido will show the difference in performance io_uring brings to the table.
Wido den Hollander is the CTO of CLouDinfra, an infrastructure company offering total Webhosting solutions. CLDIN provides datacenter, IP and virtualization services for the companies within TWS. Wido den Hollander is a PMC member of the Apache CloudStack Project and a Ceph expert. He started with CloudStack 9 years ago. What attracted his attention is the simplicity of CloudStack and the fact that it is an open-source solution. During the years Wido became a contributor, a PMC member and he was a VP of the project for a year. He is one of our most active members, who puts a lot of efforts to keep the project active and transform it into a turnkey solution for cloud builders.

AWS re:Invent 2016: Configuration Management in the Cloud (DEV305)Amazon Web Services
To ensure that your application operates in a predictable manner in both your test and production environments, you must vigilantly maintain the configuration of your resources. By leveraging configuration management solutions, Dev and Ops engineers can define the state of their resources across their entire lifecycle. In this session, we will show you how to use AWS OpsWorks, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodePipeline to build a reliable and consistent development pipeline that assures your production workloads behave in a predictable manner.
Installation And Configuration Of DNS, Web And FTP Servers On Virtual Machine...JohnWilson47710
The first Virtual Machine should be installed and have the BIND (DNS) server installed on it. While you do not own any address space/ name space your name server should manage the following domains:
The name server should answer queries for this domain. In addition to the saffioti.org.au zone, a zone should be set up for the reverse zone – the reverse zone would be whatever the address range is of your virtual machine. You should do some research on how Bind handles reverse zones. SafePeak - How to manually configure SafePeak ClusterVladi Vexler
This SafePeak guide describes how to configure a SafePeak cluster, by deploying two servers with SafePeak Standard / Stand-alone edition and then manually configure the NLB Cluster.
Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.
1. AIX INSTALLATION VIA NIM SERVER
HMC ( Hardware Managemnet Console )
Power on HMC .
HMC user id : hscroot
Password: abc123
HMC IPs set :
192.168.1.101
192.168.2.101
192.168.3.101
192.168.4.101
Power Server AIX IPs:
HMC Port 1 : 192.168.2.147
HMC Port 2 : 192.168.3.147
REMOTE CONNECTION THROUGH ETHERNET :
HMC set IPs and ping to Power server AIX IPs.
Test IP : 192.168.2.147 / 192.168.3.147
You connect through Ethernet to Power server AIX port 1 so you add IP 192.168.2.147 in HMC .
Then IP Ping to HMC and Server from selected IP 192.168.2.147
IPs is ping and create connection to Power server AIX and HMC .
LPAR CREATION :
Power Server AIX connect to HMC.
Then next step through HMC you create LPAR in Power server AIX .
Following steps to create LPAR .
7. AIX INSTALLATION
Enter console window option show black screen now put the command
#smitty
Boot AIX media and start AIX installation .
Following steps to install AIX in Power server .
STEP 1.
#smitty
11. STEPS 7 .
Press any key to continue Aix Installation
SSH ENABLE :
Putt command
#smitty .
NIM configuration under AIX6.1
NIM CONFIGURATION :
Installing AIX 6.1 OS in NIM master server.
Install bos.sysmgt.nim filesets, which is needed for NIM master.
Configure NM master server.
#smitty
STEP 1.
#smitty
22. STEP 10.
Adding a standalone NIM client to the NIM master.
#smitty nim_mkmac
Boot the system in SMS mode. (If LPAR set it to boot in SMS mode.)
Test connectivity from client to NIM server using SMS ping
NOTE: Perform PING from SMS menu to make sure client is able to communicate to NIM Server
using the IP address.
Go to Remote IPL option and select do PING test.
