The Catholic Church Located Near
There are five Catholic churches located near me according to the Catholic directory. The
decision was made to attend a service at Our Lady of Grace Church which is located on South
Chapman Street and off of West Market Street in Greensboro that was built in 1952. As you
enter the church, the first thing noticed is how large the church is on the inside as well as the
outside. Beautiful tall cathedral ceilings with archways, after archways, after archways, and a
beautiful altar. The first thing you do is dip your fingers in the bowl containing holy water and
cross yourself. According to websites, this is to remember your baptism. If you have not been
baptized you do not dip your fingers in the water. After dipping into the holy water, you bless
yourself by saying In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit while doing the motion
of a cross on the forehead, lower chest, left shoulder, then right shoulder. Walking to the pew,
there are some people who bow, there are some people, who bend their knees, and there are some
people who actually go all the way down to the ground. The reason for the bow is to bow to the
altar, genuflect to the tabernacle. Genuflecting is when the right knee touches the floor and the
tabernacle is where the Body of Christ is kept. Once at the seats, the entrance song begins. This
signals the start of Mass. This Sunday it was Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven, and Hymn. As
this song is being sung, the priest and servers walk slowly to

Themes In Doubt By John Patrick Shanley
In the novel Doubt by John Patrick Shanley, he creates doubts in readers minds that have us
turning the pages curious of what will happen next. This topic is important in the book because
doubt is one of the biggest themes in this novel, it can be apart from all other themes in the book.
Doubt creates a lot of different opinions from people, and raises a lot of important discussions. It
creates doubt in readers minds whether or not Father Flynn is guilty, he does this by showing us
different sides of characters and making us feeling uncertain about our beliefs.
In John Patrick Shanley s novel Doubt he opens us up to a whole bunch of different characters,
you have Sister Aloysius who is the stern traditionalist and then you have the complete opposite
Father Flynn who is a very fun, kind, and progressive person. Sister Aloysius thinks that Father
Flynn s ways of living life are very strange and she is appalled by his habits because they are not
like her traditionalist ways. Your fingernails, I wear them a little long, the sugar? Oh yes, one?
Three. Three. (27 Shanley) Sister Aloysius likes to have her own specific list of beliefs, and
traditions so when she sees Father Flynn s long fingernails, and that he finds it ok to have three
sugars in his tea, to Aloysius this is such an outrage, she is shocked and appalled by the ways that
he enjoys living his life, she tries to hide her disgust but this fails. Another big issue between these

Horiman Horticulture
Introduction Horniman Horticulture faces increasing cash account difficulties. Cash accounts have
continually been decreasing from years 2002 to 2005. Revenue growth for the business has risen
by over 12 percent for years 2004 and 2005. The upcoming year of 2006 brings opportunities for
expansion and increased revenue growth. The following plan outlines the state of the business and
the suggested solutions to correct the cash flow problems. Background of Firm Horniman

The business is receiving some discounts by paying within the 10 day discount period. This is a
good idea to cut costs and have more cash available, but the business is not receiving payment
from their customers in a timely manner. This is shown by the 9 day increase in receivable days
since 2002, from 41.9 to 50.9 (exhibit). Horniman Horticulture is profitable, and sales growth
exceeds all industry benchmarks. The cash flow for the business remains a problem. In 2004, the
business s days sales outstanding were more than two times that of the industry benchmark.
Operating improvements created a cash flow problem. Extending credit terms gave customers
more time to make payments. This limited the cash flow for the business s operations. Inventory
was another problem of the business. In 2004, the business s days sales in inventory exceeded 50
days compared to the industry benchmark (exhibit). With inventory sitting on the shelves longer
than necessary, this lowered the business s cash flow, and cost it more than the industry average.
Constraint on Solutions Mrs. Brown was concerned about the recent decline in the business s cash
balance to below $10,000 which is 0.9 percent of revenue (exhibit). This cash level was far below
her operating target of 8 percent of the annual revenue. Hortiman Horticulture maintains financial
responsibility by avoiding bank borrowing. Inventory risk, such as

Charter Of Rights And Freedoms Analysis
Many people believe The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, founded by Pierre Elliott Trudeau
benefited and became the base for Canada s foundation. Ironically, it is assumed that the Charter
created individual rights and freedoms. However, I will argue that the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms negatively impacted Canada, and that these affects are still being delt by Canadians. For
these reasons, I will also examine the Charter did more harm to Canadians than good. The Charter
Rights and Freedoms affected the operation of trials along with judiciary powers, multiculturalism
and criminal law rights, which undermined Canadas intended democracy and assisted in generating
a centralized government. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms negatively affected... Show more

Multiculturalism is raised in section 27 in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Jonson). An
instance where multiculturalism negatively impacts Canada, revolves around new immigrants. A
problem raised with the introduction of multiculturalism is that for some people, multiculturalism is
a descriptive term for demographic pluralism. Pluralism can stem from the coexisting of
longstanding minority groups (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). This created issues of conflict between
minority groups which related to ethnic, racial, and religious diversity generated by immigrants and
their decedents (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). The Charters regulations were often taken for granted
by minority groups, where many subnational minorities (...) often reject inclusion within a
framework of multiculturalism since they argue got self determination and sovereignty rights
(Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). Furthermore, these examples of minorities rejecting inclusion
exemplifies how multiculturalism is threatened by the Charter. The purpose of the charter was to
enhance multicultural heritage of Canadians (Uberoi,

Newts Vs Female Dating Essay
t may be time to crown male newts as the female arousing kings the amphibians release powerful
pheromones that put females in the mood to mate with practically any adult around, even other
females from different newt species, new research shows. The females react as if they re under
the influence of drugs, said lead researcher Franky Bossuyt, a biologist at Vrije Universiteit
Brussel (Free University of Brussels) in Belgium. We were convinced that if we put in a plastic
toy moving at the right speed, they would follow it. Newts typically live on land as adults and
mate exclusively in water. During the breeding season, males adopt intense color patterns and grow
skin extensions on their legs, tail and crest. These changes are thought... Show more content on

Newt mating game To find out, researchers placed male female pairs of alpine newts
(Ichthyosaura alpestris) and palmate newts (Lissotriton helveticus) into water filled plastic
containers for receptivity tests. The newts passed the test and were ready for the next phase if
they completed the courtship ritual (females weren t allowed to complete the insemination). The
team then put two female pairs into pheromone infused courtship water; some pairs consisted of
two alpine newts, other pairs had one female of each species. If the water contained pheromones
from a male of her species, the female would desperately try to court the other female. In some
cases, two female alpine newts tried to follow each other, resulting in the pair circling one another.
In some two species trials, one female chased after another, even as the unreceptive partner tried to
escape the container. [See video of the sex crazed newts] But the amphibians didn t remain patient

The Balance Between Customer Service And Resource...
The main objective of nicola is to find the balance between customer service and resource
utilization, so at nice framing ,in order to meet the demands of the customer and able to satisfy
their needs ,it was necessary to have a good levels of finished stock . This actually meant that
Nicola needed to have enough raw materials at all times. Thus availability of a wide variety of
stock meant that she actually have an edge over its competitors. In order to use her resources ,
she used to make little batches of same size frames instead of one at a time and the unused stock
was kept for future use .The stock which was not in use does effect her working capital but not for
long because of its dedication towards her customers by meeting there demand at all times.
Nicola s business of Nice Framing was to put main focus on the customers , as the business is now

Frauds in Insurance
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Rising frauds lead to greater operational threat.
Insurance is one of the tools for risk management that aims at reducing the risk on the day to day
life of individuals, organisation and society. At the same time, it should also be appreciated that
insurance cannot be utilised as a risk free tool for all types of situations. Insurance provides risk
management solutions to many situations that fall within the competence of human judgement and
managerial skills.

The origin of life insurance in India can be traced back to 1818 with the establishment of the
Oriental Life Insurance Company in Calcutta. It was conceived as a means to provide for English
Widows. In those days a higher premium was charged for Indian lives than the non Indian lives as
Indian lives were considered riskier for coverage. The Bombay Mutual Life Insurance Society that
started its business in 1870 was the first company to charge same premium for both Indian and non
Indian lives. In 1912, insurance regulation formally began with the passing of Life Insurance
Companies Act and the Provident Fund Act.
By 1938, there were 176 insurance companies in India. But a number of frauds during 1920s and
1930s tainted the image of insurance industry in India. In 1938, the first comprehensive legislation
regarding insurance was introduced with the passing of Insurance Act of 1938 that provided strict
State Control over insurance business.
Insurance sector in India grew at a faster pace after independence. In 1956, Government of India
brought together 245 Indian and foreign insurers and provident societies under one nationalised
monopoly corporation and formed Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) by an Act of Parliament, viz.
LIC Act, 1956, with a capital contribution of Rs.5 crore.

Do Nightmares Have More Negative Emotions Before And After...
Purpose The purpose of this article is to examine whether people who frequently suffer from
nightmares have more stress and stronger negative emotions before and after sleep than people who
do not frequently suffer from nightmares. The study investigates a sample dream of the people who
frequently suffer from nightmares to see if their experienced emotions are more negative than the
people who do not suffer from frequent nightmares. To collect the results in the study, four
questionnaires are used. Key Concepts, Tenets, and/or Findings The hypothesis of the study is that
participants who have at least one nightmare per week will have more negative emotions in their
dreams than the ones who have nightmares less than once a month; also, that the nightmare
sufferers will have more stress in the morning and evening than the non nightmare sufferers. An
experimental study was performed using participants from a larger Canadian dream study. They
selected sixty participants based on the criteria that they either had nightmares at least once a week,
or they had nightmares less than once a month. The participants ages ranged from 13 to 58. The

Pop, Country, Rap, Or Classical Music
Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination,
and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. ~Plato. Plato was one of the more highly regarded
philosophers of his time. H e made some fantastic discoveried throughout his life, but this might be
one of the more relevant and profound to today s society. Music can be described in so many ways.
Even more than in Platos time because he probably wasn t busting rhymes in a rap battle every

The idea of rap is all about music that is not understandable and confusing. The ultimate sound of
rap resounds as garbled and electronic. The idea of rap revolves around lack of musical talent and
relying on a computer. Although this is not everyone s position, it is true, but Pop has a different
sound. The sound of pop still hints at the electronic nature of rap, but it differs in the fact that it is
understandable. It still lacks the true instrumental sound that country and classical entertain. The
pop usually has strong vocals and good harmony, but it retains the computerized sound that is
similar to rap. Moving on, Classical has a simple, yet complex sound. It has lost all of the complex
electronic sound that rap and pop retain. This genre falls short in the category of understanding.
Especially when teachers play it too loudly during a test. Although it usually has the smoothest
sound, the vocals can sometimes be too long and confusing. Finally, Country has the best sound out
of these four type of music. The genre of Country music has a complex mix of instruments without
the complex computerization. It also is very understandable and the sound is comforting in a

How Joss Whedon Does Not Have An Origin As Dramatic
Joss Whedon does not have an origin as dramatic as some comic book heroes, but his story is
almost as unbelievable in filmmaking today: a transformation from a typecast fan favorite to the
writer and director of some of the most successful movies of all time. He began his career as a
lesser known but undeniably talented sitcom writerin 1988, but his fame in Hollywood really
began when Marvel sought him out in 2010 to write and direct The Avengers. Whedon s varied
experience in the movie industry, unique skill set, and passions for writingand creating made him
the perfect fit for the project; and they have helped him become one of the most admired
screenwriters of the 21st century. He knows the creative process that works best for him when
writing, and he used this same process when writing the script for The Avengers. He believes that
writing from a director s point of view, being a willing and able collaborator, and finding balance
in characters will lead to a great film. Applying these constants to his writing process for The
Avengers, Whedon created a coherent and compelling story that balances the characters heroism
with their humanity. Before he begins writing, Whedon has a certain environment that fosters his
creative process best. While he has always liked working in the early morning best, Whedon s
schedule has become much more unreliable since becoming a father. You write whenever you can,

The present value of all these cash inflows and outflows can be calculated by discounting them at
12.19%. This rate is calculated by assuming that the purchasing power parity holds in this
scenario. The company can do the feasibility analysis by looking at both from the subsidiary s
and parent s perspective by assuming that the purchasing power parity holds. Hence, this rate
can be regarded as opportunity cost of investment because it is the second best alternative for the
company for investment purposes. So, the NPV can be calculated by taking the sum of present
values of all the cash flows. This NPV comes out to be 3,703,176 Pesos. This NPV value can be
converted into Euros by dividing the NPV value by the spot exchange rate. The spot exchange
rate is 15.99 MXN/EURO. Hence, by dividing 3,703,176 by 15.99, NPV value in terms of Euro
comes out to be 231,593 Euros. Compute the NPV in €s by translating future peso cash flows
into €s at expected future spot rates. Note Ariel s € hurdle rate for this asset class was 8%.
Annual inflation rates are expected to be 7% in Mexico and 3% in France. NPV calculated for
this scenario comes out to be 231,507 Euros. The first thing required for calculating NPV in Euro
is the forward premium. It is calculated by adding 1 to the inflation rates of France and Mexico
respectively, and then by taking their ratio. This ratio comes out to be 1.0388. This ratio is then

Museums have become crucial in society due to the sustainability of Cultural Heritage within the
UK. For relevance to future generations, museums and galleries must show their social purpose by
becoming increasingly aware of visitors wants need for a valuable experience. Through the
development of their customer service roles will help examine the ways in which museums can

The Crimes And Impacts Of Bonnie And Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde, an infamous phrase that linked two criminals, has been commonly known by
many people around the country. In the early1930 s the crimes Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow
committed, propelled shock waves through a depressed nation. The couple s series of negligible
thefts morphed into bank robberies and escalated to murders. Amid the economic turbulence, their
string of robberies and murders proved that crimes spiked in times of strife and demonstrated the

Clyde Barrow was one of them. Barrow felt no remorse in stealing from banks, armories, and other

Still, small town businesses were forced to lay off employees and many went bankrupt. Owners

other outlet for their frustration they blamed the federal government. President Hoover consistently

Coming into 1985, the Soviet Union was a closed off society which had suffered under the
leadership of old, delusional men. It was clear that, as Mikhail Gorbachev himself said the night
before being appointed the head of the Communist Party, We can t go on living like this (Gaddis,

for the better. But it is here attempting to juggle his new social reform policies and his desire to
stay in power that Gorbachev stumbled. By the end of 1991, it was evident that Gorbachev was

The biggest was his decision to not use force in the internal affairs of other communist states
(Gaddis, 239). Hence, the 1989 revolutions occurred whereby communism rule ended in Eastern
Europe. On August 24, 1989, the first non communist government in postwar Eastern Europe took
power in Poland (Gaddis, 241). The revolutionary feeling quickly spread to Hungary, East
Germany, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria and Romania and by the end of 1989, the Soviets had lost all
control and influence over their Eastern Europe satellites. Thus, it is understandable why many in
the USSR perceived this as a weakness and blamed Gorbachev. Furthermore, as the free flow of
information continued and new freedoms allowed people within the Soviet Union to explore their
cultural identity in a political context, republics within the USSR started to push for independence
too. Gorbachev s power was diminishing, accelerated by the rising popularity of Russian nationalist
Boris Yeltsin and other political opponents. In short, the loss of the Eastern Bloc increased

Cell Signaling Essay
Cell signaling in the central nervous system refers to the communication that occurs in cells to
coordinate* cell actions, as the cells receive and respond to other cells to help with many functions
in the body, from immunity to development to growth.
Cell signaling begins at the axon of the cell, which is the long fiber part of a nerve cell where
electrical impulses are conducted and sent from the cell body through the axon to other cells. At the
axon the action potential (define short term change in the electrical potential on the surface of a cell
(e.g. a nerve cell or muscle cell) in response to stimulation, and then leads to the transmission of an
electrical impulse (nerve impulse) that travels across the cell membrane.) is conducted. ... Show

positive charge reaches somewhere between 40 and 55 mV, it causes a depolairsation as the cell s
charge is a reverse due to it being more positively charged while the outside of the cell, lacking in
Na+, becomes negatively charged.
The depolarization triggers the sodium channels to close, and the voltage dependent potassium
channels to open, causing K+ to move out of the cell to reduce the concentration gradient**. This
is the repolarisation stage, as the inside of the cell becomes more negative as the K+ ions leave the
cell.
The neuron is then hyperpolarised when there are more K+ on the outside than Na+ in the inside
of the cell, meaning the cell has a more negative charge than the outside of the cell. This causes the
cell s potential to be slightly lower than its initial resting potential. This is the last stage of an action
potential, after which there is a refractory (resting) period until which the cell returns to its resting

Improving Vertical Jump Analysis
How to Improve Vertical JumpA strong vertical leap can help you excel in several sports,
including basketball, gymnastics and volleyball. It will also help to improve your overall
athleticism and flexibility. Increasing your vertical leap requires dedicated focus on it during
training, But how do you actually go about increasing your vertical? The answer is in two parts:
Increased force output How much strength or energy can be applied to the ground Increased rate
of force development How quickly force can be produced and applied The combination of these
two is what allows someone to propel him or herself from the ground to as high as possible. These
two variables are the answers to the question you vertically

Examples Of Archetypes In The Raven
In the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe there are many themes and archetypes to convey the
message to the reader. My poster expresses these themes through colors, images and symbols. On
my poster the color purple shows up multiple times in the text to show the reader a back round
message. The color purple is an archetype that represents the un natural and supernatural. One of the
supernatural occurrences in the poem is when the narrator states And the silken sad uncertain
rustling of each purple curtain thrilled me in the quote that color purple shows up. After those
curtains shook in the wind supernatural things occurred. I used this color in my poster because
many supernatural events occur throughout the play. In my blurb I used the word mystic to
describe the sound of the echo. The word mystic defines as often relating... Show more content on

The raven was one of the main archetypes in the play. In my poster I added a bold black raven in
the center. The raven is made out of the words nevermore which is the name of the raven.
Normally the archetype of a bird would mean freedom. A bird can fly wherever it wants and let
the wind take it. In this case its different, a black raven appeared which was a different sign. A
black raven represents sickness and death. The black raven relates to the theme because in the
poem they use specific lines to describe the setting and emotion of the poem such as by the grave
and stern decorum this line is referring to dark and deathly setting of the environment the narrator
is in. Another symbolic archetype I added in my poster was the dark forest submerged in mist.
The symbolization of a forest is the unknown as well as darkness and the symbolization of the mist
is mystery. This eerie back round shows that there is an unknown mystery to come in the future.
This relates to the theme because darkness is being portrayed all the

My Leadership Style Analysis
This week I take on Ohio as I learn to grow as a leader.
Today a lot of the things we talked about really hit home with me, and I actually cried in a room
full of strangers as I told them my story and why I chose to be a leader.
But today we talked about resilience. We defined resilience as:
The process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources
of stress.
This definition really spoke to me. I have been facing this day after day ever since April, and
today we had a lady talk to us about it for 2 hours, but it felt like it was only seconds. She helped
me to realize that I am not alone, that I have other sisters out there that are fighting, if not the same
battle, one that is similar to mine. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I definitely relate to these characteristics way more... Most of the time they all occur at once.
To fold up into yourself is basically when you look at people and just say I can t with you right
now. You hide away, turn off your phone, turn off all communication with the outside world, and
basically just become one with your bed... and maybe a bag of taco bell. With my depression, I
am guilty of this a lot. People try to talk to me and then I get in trouble because I get irritated that
they won t just leave me alone with myself for a bit... That s often when I storm off. You just hit
that point where you ve had enough and you just need to run away from all your responsibilities.
This was comforting to hear from someone else, because I was starting to worry that maybe part
of my three year old self had held onto parts of my brain. Next is to blame others. You don t want
to accept that you have done wrong or that you have messed up, so you start putting the blame
on other people. Next, you require total control. In a leadership role, sometimes you feel like
you have lost control of a situation, so you try to regain control by taking all of it. You shut
people out, and you tell them that you don t need their help. As a bit of a control freak, like I
said, I am very guilty of this. As I come into contact with more and more leaders on campus, I have
learned to step back and just observe situations and let other people handle them. I have

Unstructured Data
Abstract Resumes are shared online significantly due to the widespread presence of the job
websites. Normally, resumes do not have a structured format, which makes it difficult for the
organizations to parse and extract information automatically. In this research, a novel methodology
is presented for converting the relevant information from resume and the corresponding sentiments
from Twitter to a structured format. Initially, the relevant information is extracted from the resume
files. The behavior pattern from Twitter for each candidate is also extracted using sentiment
analysis on their posts. Finally, this is combined with the extracted information from the resume

Also, most organizations and companies receive thousands of resumes from job seekers online. It
is difficult to extract relevant information from a resume because of its unstructured and
nonstandard structure. Also, it comes in different file types such as PDF, DOC, etc. This makes
the information extraction even more challenging. With the dramatic growth of social media, a
considerable amount of data becomes available to be exploited by many companies,
organizations, and researchers based on their interests. The candidate s behavior pattern could be
extracted from the social media where candidates share their opinion on various topics of interest.
In this research, the focus is to combine the candidate s information extracted from resume with
the sentiment analysis from Twitter and to convert to a structured format. This will give the
organization with a better understanding of the candidate. This paper includes the following
sections: Section II provides related work for analyzing and structuring resume data as well as

Section IV discusses the simulation results and Section V contains the conclusion and future work.

college is very beneficial to society because it helps the country run smoother. Some reasons
people believe everyone should attend college are that college graduates tend to make more
income than a non college attendee, more companies and businesses require you to have a degree
to your name to work for them, and you are more likely to have a better health care insurance and
retirement plan. But others tend to feel like college is not isn t worth the time of day. Others who
believe in not attending colleges usually have reasons like it takes too long to pay off your student

Understanding The Experience Of Emergency Management And...
Abstract
Collaboration involves various groups or groups of people working together to accomplish a
desired outcome. It is a bit like teamwork. By strengthening connections during an emergency
crisis, you have the ability to be more effective, faster, produce more, and have more personnel
available. Collaboration offers more innovation and experience to a situation. This paper will
discuss the roles of those that were involved in the collaborative efforts of FEMA. The basic
reasoning for this paper is to provide knowledge and understanding the experience of emergency
management and collaboration that took place during Hurricane Sandy.
Introduction Hurricane Sandy pushed across New York coast and left a devastating trail behind.
There devastation was so great that it caused federal, local, and regional levels to develop plans
and strategies for future crisis. An emergency situation on a magnitude as Hurricane Sandy created
a collaboration of many emergency services. FEMA, Red Cross, Department of Transportation,
and many local agencies were involved with managing the chaos caused by the storm.
Collaboration was utilized during the occurrence of the storm and after the storm. Several of the
agencies and their involvement will be described.
FEMA had more than 1900 staff members working and responding to the crisis of Hurricane Sandy.
Personnel assisted in the recovery operations, research and rescue, and displacement housing. Evans

Essay on Canadian Firearms Program

Case Title: Canadian Firearms Program
Introduction
Gun violence is serious social problem and Canada has a long history of firearms control.
However, increasing costs to the Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) has made it a lightning rod for
criticism from both pro and anti gun advocates. Reports out of the media and Auditor General
Sheila Fraser paint a picture of inefficiency, incompetence and mismanagement.
This paper looks at the main issues faced by decision makers, analyses them, presents alternatives
and makes recommendations based on the analysis.

Analysis (10 marks)
In dealing with the first issue, there are two distinct schools of thought. One led by gun advocates
stating the irrelevance of gun control in reducing crimes while the other claiming its importance.
The main argument against is the notion that no would be criminal would ever comply with it
thereby diminishing, if not eliminating its effectiveness. Opponents also point to the steadily
declining gun related deaths as evidence against any control. Proponents on the other hand point out
that this reduction is due to fewer suicides rather than homicides. Opponents also argue that
controlling gun access will only create a thriving black market for firearms.
Proponents of the program state that the registry system is an invaluable tool for law enforcement
officials. It helps to track firearms and assist in solving cases, while respecting the rights of law
abiding citizens to own guns.
Judging by the figures presented (exhibit 2) in the case, the sheer volume of queries appear to
indicate that the registry indeed is an essential tool for police. In fact, law enforcement officers who
are a key stakeholder in this program are in favor of it. The argument of a thriving black market
can be reasonable disregarded, as there is no data to support it.
Now, even if there is a necessity for a registry program, it still has to be efficient.

Maritime Collaboration to Locate the Missing Malaysian...
1.0 Introduction
A multinational effort to track down a missing Malaysian airliner on the edge of the South China
Sea is turning into a rare example of maritime collaboration among countries embroiled in
territorial disputes in the region. (Chun et al., 2014) An expert on international security issues
quoted in The Wall Street Journal (2014), Nonetheless, it s also a good example of regional
cooperation on a multinational rescue operation , adding on that the example could be a good
model for the future.
It took the world by surprise when Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 bound for Beijing went
missing on 7th March 2014. Many were in shock, and the families of the 227 passengers and 12
crew were grieved stricken as there was still no news of the missing plane six days into the search
and rescue (SAR). Nevertheless, Malaysia is blessed to have so many countries that joined in the
SAR operations. The United States of America, Vietnam, Singapore, China, New Zealand, among
others, deployed resources such as aircrafts, ships, satellites and helicopters to aid in the SAR to
locate the missing plane.
The above case is depicted in this paper, because in essence, it showcases why foreign affairs and,
maintaining bilateral and multilateral relationships are vital for any country. From a political
perspective, such relationships are the main concern of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In
Malaysia, The Ministry has been mandated to pursue the nation s foreign

Essay about Eugenics
Taken from the Greek word eugenes meaning good in stock the term eugenics was coined in
1883 By Francis Galton (1822 1911). Today it is defined by the OED as Pertaining or adapted to
the production of fine offspring, esp. in the human race. We will attempt to explain what eugenics
was within in the context of its time and how it was to be applied to humans. We will also attempt
to identify who its supporters were and the many different reasons why the eugenic doctrine
appealed to them.
The problem of what to do about the urban poor had been a continuing worry for the middle classes
since the mid nineteenth century. Concerns about criminality, vice and poverty widened from the

If this could be made to happen, there would be a golden age of eugenics in which the arts, politics,
science and society would flourish. He also believed that if his ideas were not taken up, the British
would degenerate. Galton named his system of eugenics practical Darwinism.
Studies showed that the underclass was breeding at a rapid rate. Encouraging the nations finest men
and women to reproduce with one another was not enough. To achieve the dream of a golden age of
eugenics, the fecund, beer sodden, work shy poor must be actively discouraged from procreating. In
an attempt to achieve their objective, eugenicists proposed a system: encouraging better stocks to
breed, choosing a mate by rational criteria and state sponsored motherhood. This was termed
Positive Eugenics. The tactics of discouraging the unfit from breeding by use of contraceptives,
voluntary or compulsory sterilization, institutionalisation, and the end of sentimental charity were
components of Negative Eugenics.
Eugenics offered a solution to the class issues and the problem of the urban poor, which had come
to dominate British thinking. It could provide a scientific way of dealing with the dangerous
classes whose inferiority could now be condemned as an inbred fault which could only be remedied

Some people have the view that British generals like Haig were incompetent leaders.
How far does the sources support or contradict this interpretation?
Some people have the view that British generals such as Haig were useless leaders. Famous
sources like O What a lovely War , Blackadder and The Trench support this. However from the
1980s many military historians have challenged this interpretation and states that under Haigs
leadership, Britain and her allies won the war from encouraging new weapons and military tactics.
After Haigs death in 1918, historians blamed him for needless laughter of nearly 750,000 British
soldiers on the Western Frontand biographers pilloned him for his overconfidence, insensitivity and

Another source which supports the interpretation that British generals were incompetent is
source B1. John Laffin worked as a tour guide in Australia. His parents both served witht he
Australians in Gallipoli and France as nursing cops. Even though he didn t have a history
degree, he was a military historian who earned his living taking people on battlefield tours. He
researched the war from the soldier s viewpoint and wrote a successful history book titled British
Butchers and Bunglers of World War One a very emotive polemic title which released to the
public in 2003. The book aims to expose the guilt of uncaring and stupid generals. The passage
from the book says that Haig and other stupid generals must be blamed for wilful blunders and
wicked butchery and that there can never be forgiveness for their sheer incompetence . This
source lacks reliability as it has been written in confidence with other sources he has researched
online. Laffin only presents one side of the argument and doesn t discuss the situation in Verdun.
The passage of the book was written in 2003 80 years later from World War 1. However, his job
as a tour guide in battlefields gives him an advantage over other historians. This source is
supported by other historians (B8 an B1) and soldiers (B2). This interpretation is contradicted by
sources like (B14).
David Lloyd George (B4) also supports the interpretation that British generals

Alice Walker an author/poet is from the postmodernist period. In all her stories, she captivates the
different characteristics this literary movement. In an analysis of Alice Walker s poems Expect
Nothing and Be Nobody s Darling , one can see how the postmodernist elements of paradox and
irony are demonstrated.
Throughout out the postmodern era, authors show paradox in their text. Sources claim, Human

that postmodernist reading sometimes leads to self contradictory and logical reading. Poems/ short
stories often have readers critically think in this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Irony is a form of tone. It can often be portrayed as verbal, situational, and dramatic. Authors
want to make sure that the story can be through tone/ attitude. Charetize by the postmodernist
period, Alice Walker uses irony is her text. In the poem, Be Nobody s Darling the speaker claims,
Be nobody s darling; Be an outcast. Qualified to live among your dead ( Be nobody s Darling 26

used to show readers that you can be a leader instead of a follower.
In an analysis of Alice Walker, she successfully demonstrated the elements of paradox and irony in
the postmodernist period. Walker was able to determine paradox in a way that readers have to

My Aspiration For The Health Field
My aspiration to work in the health field comes from many different experiences in my life. As an
only child and being a descendant to Haitian parents who came to this country to make a better
living for themselves, I understand I am the first to further my education. Knowing I have
opportunities that my parents did not have, I am dedicated and will do all that it takes to follow my

would love to be part of a team working with other health professionals, providing patients with
health information and counseling in an environment that appreciates diversity and supports
minorities.
My desire to work in the health field began when I was diagnosed with Bell s palsy as a teenager.
I know it is not a life threatening condition. However, when I was diagnosed I did not know what
was happening. My doctor could not give me a definite answer as to why half of my face was
suddenly paralyzed. That time period was the most stressful and disheartening time of my life. I
felt even embarrassed to laugh or smile in front of my friends. I remember one day when I went
for check ups on my condition, I felt normal again as one of the PAs described how she went
through the same experience with Bell s palsy as a young adult in Jamaica.

Hiring A Human Resource Department For A School District
The Objective of this document is to outline a hiring procedures manual that a Human Resource
Department for a school district might use to hiring an employee. Hiring is arguably the most
important function of the HR Department and a set of procedures should be in place to make the
steps move in an efficient manner. The HR Department wears many hats and is most cases
responsible for many areas: budget controlling, conflict resolution, training, employee satisfaction,
cost saving measures, strategic planning, and of course the big one...the hiring of the right
individuals. The hiring process needs to be an organized and well thought out set of procedures
from identifying who will be needed to the hiring and training of that individual. There are many
steps, some of which have legal ramifications, so the procedures need to be followed and reviewed
to ensure that the procedures are not only capturing the best candidates but the procedures comply
with all of the laws. A high level view of the HR Department s job includes: identifying the open
position, develop (or already have a developed job description) that includes the duties of that
position, collecting applications, screening applications, interviewing applicants, making the
decisions on who will get an offer, that actual hiring of that individual, and the training process. This
process is outlined in the attached HR procedures document. This document will outline seven areas:

How Was The X-Ray Diffraction Spectrum Of All Sulfurized...
3.1 Structural properties
Figure 1 showed the X ray diffraction spectrum of all sulfurized Co doped FeS2 films. The
comparison with JCPDS 01 071 1680 indicated a pure cubic FeS2 structure for all these samples.
The ratio between peaks from each sample demonstrated a poly crystal structure. Also, no clear
preferential growth direction could be observed for each sample. The peaks of all Co doped films
were very close to the pure iron pyrite peaks. No clear peak shift could be observed. This indicated
that shallow cobalt doping had little impact on the crystal structure of FeS2.

these sulfurized films. . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As more electrons were introduced, the net carrier concentration started to decrease until the
electrons became the majority carriers. This process may explain the change of conduction type
and carrier concentrations. The carrier mobility, however, decreased gradually from 6.52 cm2
/V*s to 4.30 cm2/V*s as cobalt doping increased from 2 at% to 6 at%. This phenomenon could
be explained as the decreased mean free path of charged carriers because of the larger size of the
incorporated cobalt ions than the original iron ions. After switching to n type, the increasing carrier
concentration may also contributed to the reducing of carrier mobility. As a consequence, cobalt
doping served well as an n type dopant after 3 at% doping level.
3.2.2 Temperature Dependence
Figure 2 showed the relationship between the reciprocal of resistivity to the reciprocal of
temperature, graphed as a logarithmic plot. The resistance change of the Co doped FeS2 samples
with Al electrodes were collected from room temperature (25oC) to 140oC. From Fig.2, the
resistance of all samples decreased while heating. This showed a general semiconductor behavior of
these Co doped FeS2 films. The data in Fig.2 showed a linear dependence for each sample. The
fitting lines could be described by Arrhenius equation as shown in equation 2: . (2)

The organization has experienced changes already this offseason. There have been two employees,
the Vice President of Player Personnel and the Senior Coordinator of Basketball Operations, who
have left the organization this offseason and have not been replaced. In comparison to other NBA
organizations the Wizards basketball operations staff is already small. Thus, with the departures of
front office members, there is room to add a couple coordinators for basketball analytics. The
organization should look to hire individuals who have strong economic, programming, and
analytical backgrounds to the organization. I would advise that the organization simply hire two or

  • 2. The Catholic Church Located Near There are five Catholic churches located near me according to the Catholic directory. The decision was made to attend a service at Our Lady of Grace Church which is located on South Chapman Street and off of West Market Street in Greensboro that was built in 1952. As you enter the church, the first thing noticed is how large the church is on the inside as well as the outside. Beautiful tall cathedral ceilings with archways, after archways, after archways, and a beautiful altar. The first thing you do is dip your fingers in the bowl containing holy water and cross yourself. According to websites, this is to remember your baptism. If you have not been baptized you do not dip your fingers in the water. After dipping into the holy water, you bless yourself by saying In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit while doing the motion of a cross on the forehead, lower chest, left shoulder, then right shoulder. Walking to the pew, there are some people who bow, there are some people, who bend their knees, and there are some people who actually go all the way down to the ground. The reason for the bow is to bow to the altar, genuflect to the tabernacle. Genuflecting is when the right knee touches the floor and the tabernacle is where the Body of Christ is kept. Once at the seats, the entrance song begins. This signals the start of Mass. This Sunday it was Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven, and Hymn. As this song is being sung, the priest and servers walk slowly to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Themes In Doubt By John Patrick Shanley In the novel Doubt by John Patrick Shanley, he creates doubts in readers minds that have us turning the pages curious of what will happen next. This topic is important in the book because doubt is one of the biggest themes in this novel, it can be apart from all other themes in the book. Doubt creates a lot of different opinions from people, and raises a lot of important discussions. It creates doubt in readers minds whether or not Father Flynn is guilty, he does this by showing us different sides of characters and making us feeling uncertain about our beliefs. In John Patrick Shanley s novel Doubt he opens us up to a whole bunch of different characters, you have Sister Aloysius who is the stern traditionalist and then you have the complete opposite Father Flynn who is a very fun, kind, and progressive person. Sister Aloysius thinks that Father Flynn s ways of living life are very strange and she is appalled by his habits because they are not like her traditionalist ways. Your fingernails, I wear them a little long, the sugar? Oh yes, one? Three. Three. (27 Shanley) Sister Aloysius likes to have her own specific list of beliefs, and traditions so when she sees Father Flynn s long fingernails, and that he finds it ok to have three sugars in his tea, to Aloysius this is such an outrage, she is shocked and appalled by the ways that he enjoys living his life, she tries to hide her disgust but this fails. Another big issue between these 2 is the case of the young ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Revenue growth for the business has risen by over 12 percent for years 2004 and 2005. The upcoming year of 2006 brings opportunities for expansion and increased revenue growth. The following plan outlines the state of the business and the suggested solutions to correct the cash flow problems. The business is receiving some discounts by paying within the 10 day discount period. This is a good idea to cut costs and have more cash available, but the business is not receiving payment from their customers in a timely manner. This is shown by the 9 day increase in receivable days since 2002, from 41.9 to 50.9 (exhibit). Horniman Horticulture is profitable, and sales growth exceeds all industry benchmarks. The cash flow for the business remains a problem. In 2004, the business s days sales outstanding were more than two times that of the industry benchmark. Operating improvements created a cash flow problem. Extending credit terms gave customers more time to make payments. This limited the cash flow for the business s operations. Inventory was another problem of the business. In 2004, the business s days sales in inventory exceeded 50 days compared to the industry benchmark (exhibit). With inventory sitting on the shelves longer than necessary, this lowered the business s cash flow, and cost it more than the industry average. Constraint on Solutions Mrs. Brown was concerned about the recent decline in the business s cash balance to below $10,000 which is 0.9 percent of revenue (exhibit). This cash level was far below her operating target of 8 percent of the annual revenue. Hortiman Horticulture maintains financial responsibility by avoiding bank borrowing. Inventory risk, such as ... • 5. Charter Of Rights And Freedoms Analysis Many people believe The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, founded by Pierre Elliott Trudeau benefited and became the base for Canada s foundation. Ironically, it is assumed that the Charter created individual rights and freedoms. However, I will argue that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms negatively impacted Canada, and that these affects are still being delt by Canadians. For these reasons, I will also examine the Charter did more harm to Canadians than good. The Charter Rights and Freedoms affected the operation of trials along with judiciary powers, multiculturalism and criminal law rights, which undermined Canadas intended democracy and assisted in generating a centralized government. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms negatively affected... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Multiculturalism is raised in section 27 in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Jonson). An instance where multiculturalism negatively impacts Canada, revolves around new immigrants. A problem raised with the introduction of multiculturalism is that for some people, multiculturalism is a descriptive term for demographic pluralism. Pluralism can stem from the coexisting of longstanding minority groups (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). This created issues of conflict between minority groups which related to ethnic, racial, and religious diversity generated by immigrants and their decedents (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). The Charters regulations were often taken for granted by minority groups, where many subnational minorities (...) often reject inclusion within a framework of multiculturalism since they argue got self determination and sovereignty rights (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). Furthermore, these examples of minorities rejecting inclusion exemplifies how multiculturalism is threatened by the Charter. The team then put two female pairs into pheromone infused courtship water; some pairs consisted of two alpine newts, other pairs had one female of each species. If the water contained pheromones from a male of her species, the female would desperately try to court the other female. In some cases, two female alpine newts tried to follow each other, resulting in the pair circling one another. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. ~Plato. Plato was one of the more highly regarded philosophers of his time. Even more than in Platos time because he probably wasn t busting rhymes in a rap battle every other weekend. Although music has evolved highly since his time, his statement remains true. The sound of pop still hints at the electronic nature of rap, but it differs in the fact that it is understandable. It still lacks the true instrumental sound that country and classical entertain. The pop usually has strong vocals and good harmony, but it retains the computerized sound that is similar to rap. Moving on, Classical has a simple, yet complex sound. It has lost all of the complex electronic sound that rap and pop retain. This genre falls short in the category of understanding. Especially when teachers play it too loudly during a test. Although it usually has the smoothest sound, the vocals can sometimes be too long and confusing. Finally, Country has the best sound out of these four type of music. How Joss Whedon Does Not Have An Origin As Dramatic Joss Whedon does not have an origin as dramatic as some comic book heroes, but his story is almost as unbelievable in filmmaking today: a transformation from a typecast fan favorite to the writer and director of some of the most successful movies of all time. He began his career as a lesser known but undeniably talented sitcom writerin 1988, but his fame in Hollywood really began when Marvel sought him out in 2010 to write and direct The Avengers. Whedon s varied experience in the movie industry, unique skill set, and passions for writingand creating made him the perfect fit for the project; and they have helped him become one of the most admired screenwriters of the 21st century. He knows the creative process that works best for him when writing, and he used this same process when writing the script for The Avengers. He believes that writing from a director s point of view, being a willing and able collaborator, and finding balance in characters will lead to a great film. Applying these constants to his writing process for The Avengers, Whedon created a coherent and compelling story that balances the characters heroism with their humanity. Before he begins writing, Whedon has a certain environment that fosters his creative process best. While he has always liked working in the early morning best, Whedon s schedule has become much more unreliable since becoming a father. The company can do the feasibility analysis by looking at both from the subsidiary s and parent s perspective by assuming that the purchasing power parity holds. Hence, this rate can be regarded as opportunity cost of investment because it is the second best alternative for the company for investment purposes. So, the NPV can be calculated by taking the sum of present values of all the cash flows. This NPV comes out to be 3,703,176 Pesos. This NPV value can be converted into Euros by dividing the NPV value by the spot exchange rate. The spot exchange rate is 15.99 MXN/EURO. Hence, by dividing 3,703,176 by 15.99, NPV value in terms of Euro comes out to be 231,593 Euros. Compute the NPV in €s by translating future peso cash flows into €s at expected future spot rates. Note Ariel s € hurdle rate for this asset class was 8%. Annual inflation rates are expected to be 7% in Mexico and 3% in France. NPV calculated for this scenario comes out to be 231,507 Euros. • 20. Cell Signaling Essay Cell signaling in the central nervous system refers to the communication that occurs in cells to coordinate* cell actions, as the cells receive and respond to other cells to help with many functions in the body, from immunity to development to growth. Cell signaling begins at the axon of the cell, which is the long fiber part of a nerve cell where electrical impulses are conducted and sent from the cell body through the axon to other cells. At the axon the action potential (define short term change in the electrical potential on the surface of a cell (e.g. a nerve cell or muscle cell) in response to stimulation, and then leads to the transmission of an electrical impulse (nerve impulse) that travels across the cell membrane.) is conducted. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The voltage dependent sodium and potassium channels are closed. A stimulus would then cause the voltage dependent sodium channels in the neuron s membrane to open, causing the Na+ ions that were outside the membrane to rush into the cell. This would cause the cell to become more positive. If the signal is strong enough to cause the voltage to reach a threshold, in which the positive charge reaches somewhere between 40 and 55 mV, it causes a depolairsation as the cell s charge is a reverse due to it being more positively charged while the outside of the cell, lacking in Na+, becomes negatively charged. The depolarization triggers the sodium channels to close, and the voltage dependent potassium channels to open, causing K+ to move out of the cell to reduce the concentration gradient**. This is the repolarisation stage, as the inside of the cell becomes more negative as the K+ ions leave the cell. The neuron is then hyperpolarised when there are more K+ on the outside than Na+ in the inside of the cell, meaning the cell has a more negative charge than the outside of the cell. This causes the cell s potential to be slightly lower than its initial resting potential. This is the last stage of an action potential, after which there is a refractory (resting) period until which the cell returns to its resting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Expect Nothing And Be Nobody s Darling This late 20th century has a great literary period, known as post modernist literary movement. Alice Walker an author/poet is from the postmodernist period. In all her stories, she captivates the different characteristics this literary movement. In an analysis of Alice Walker s poems Expect Nothing and Be Nobody s Darling , one can see how the postmodernist elements of paradox and irony are demonstrated. Throughout out the postmodern era, authors show paradox in their text. Sources claim, Human beings can acquire knowledge about natural reality ( Duignan, Brian). Paradox seems to indicate that postmodernist reading sometimes leads to self contradictory and logical reading. Poems/ short stories often have readers critically think in this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When talking about postmodernism, this source states, Parody, irony, and narrative instability often inform the tone (AP Test Prep). Irony is a form of tone. It can often be portrayed as verbal, situational, and dramatic. Authors want to make sure that the story can be through tone/ attitude. Charetize by the postmodernist period, Alice Walker uses irony is her text. In the poem, Be Nobody s Darling the speaker claims, Be nobody s darling; Be an outcast. Qualified to live among your dead ( Be nobody s Darling 26 29). Here, Alice Walker is referring to thinking for yourself and being an outcast of society. Irony is used to show readers that you can be a leader instead of a follower. In an analysis of Alice Walker, she successfully demonstrated the elements of paradox and irony in the postmodernist period. Walker was able to determine paradox in a way that readers have to think about the self contradictory statements in her poems. In addition, Irony plays out a role in many of her poems. Whether it s dramatic, verbal, or situational, there s always irony in Walker s text. Alice Walker, poet and author successfully characterize the postmodernist literary ... • 35. My Aspiration For The Health Field My aspiration to work in the health field comes from many different experiences in my life. As an only child and being a descendant to Haitian parents who came to this country to make a better living for themselves, I understand I am the first to further my education. Knowing I have opportunities that my parents did not have, I am dedicated and will do all that it takes to follow my dreams to become a great PA. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, volunteering and becoming a certified nursing assistantgrew my enthusiasm; I know it s the right profession for me. I would love to be part of a team working with other health professionals, providing patients with health information and counseling in an environment that appreciates diversity and supports minorities. My desire to work in the health field began when I was diagnosed with Bell s palsy as a teenager. I know it is not a life threatening condition. However, when I was diagnosed I did not know what was happening. My doctor could not give me a definite answer as to why half of my face was suddenly paralyzed. That time period was the most stressful and disheartening time of my life. I felt even embarrassed to laugh or smile in front of my friends. I remember one day when I went for check ups on my condition, I felt normal again as one of the PAs described how she went through the same experience with Bell s palsy as a young adult in Jamaica. The same experience I had with that PA is the same experience I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The highest peak point is the Junipero Peak at 5862 feet and is in the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife banned fishing in the central coast back in 2014 due to the drought. The cause for the banning of fishing is because the local fish such as the steelhead and the Coho were deemed to be endangered and in risk of possible extinction. This ban has not been lifted. The rivers that are affected by this ban are: Pescadero Creek, the San Lorenzo River and all its tributaries, Aptos and Soquel creeks, the Pajaro River, the Carmel River, the... • 37. The Influence Of Digital Media On The United States Army The Influence of Digital Media on the United States Army Digital media has integrated itself into nearly every facet of the modern United States Army. For many years, the Army has increased its dependency on the use of digital media in day to day operations, training, communications, public relations, and administrative tasks. Some people claim that we are too dependent on these technologies for our own good. However, it has helped keep us the most powerful fighting force on the face of the planet. This case study will look at five functional areas that digital media has improved the Army: Administration, Training, Communication, Public Relations, and Warfighting Capabilities. In each of these functional areas, we will explore how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This meant the signed copy then had to be scanned back into the computer and then emailed or uploaded into a database. Of course, the original paper copy still existed, so the Army had not met the goal of being paperless yet. Finally, around 2012 the Army acquired the technology that included the digital signature that would allow them to truly go paperless. The technology had existed for five years, but the Army s slow procurement and distribution process was one of the many lessons learned: in the digital age, the Army had to move faster and be more flexible to change. This paperless platform would allow the Army to overhaul all administrative systems. The Publication Directorate stopped printing paper copies of manuals and regulations, and posted the digital copies to an online library, where changes could easily be updated. Evaluations could be completed online, signed online, and submitted online. Leave forms and award recommendations could go from one user to approver with the click of a button across the world if needed. And promotion boards no longer needed to flip through endless reams of paper to select candidates just click through digital copies of a file for a potential promotion candidate. The Army is positioning itself for the future by reducing the number of people it needs to do the administrative work of the past and train the future administrators in computer applications for the future. • 38. Hiring A Human Resource Department For A School District The Objective of this document is to outline a hiring procedures manual that a Human Resource Department for a school district might use to hiring an employee. Hiring is arguably the most important function of the HR Department and a set of procedures should be in place to make the steps move in an efficient manner. The HR Department wears many hats and is most cases responsible for many areas: budget controlling, conflict resolution, training, employee satisfaction, cost saving measures, strategic planning, and of course the big one...the hiring of the right individuals. The hiring process needs to be an organized and well thought out set of procedures from identifying who will be needed to the hiring and training of that individual. There are many steps, some of which have legal ramifications, so the procedures need to be followed and reviewed to ensure that the procedures are not only capturing the best candidates but the procedures comply with all of the laws. A high level view of the HR Department s job includes: identifying the open position, develop (or already have a developed job description) that includes the duties of that position, collecting applications, screening applications, interviewing applicants, making the decisions on who will get an offer, that actual hiring of that individual, and the training process. This process is outlined in the attached HR procedures document. This document will outline seven areas: 1.Recruitment procedures 2. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Reading Comprehension Strategy Of Inferring Essay Making Inferences WHY: Purpose of Lesson: The purpose of this lesson is to introduce students to the reading comprehension strategy of inferring. The students will learn how to use textual evidence combined with their own background knowledge to make inferences about various aspects of a text including characters, setting, theme, and plot. Common Core State Standards: CCSS.ELA LITERACY.RL.5.1: Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text. Goals/Objectives of Lesson: What do you hope for/expect? In a small group setting, each student will make at least 3 inferences about various scenarios and pictures through writing and speaking. Following a teacher s model, each student will write their own short scenario that will be used for their classmates to make inferences about. When reading a selected chapter from the book, Wonder, students will use a graphic organizer to make at least two written inferences by filling in all three columns of the organizer (what is stated, what I already know, and my inference). Extension Activity: Each student will create a short story (either written or verbal) based on their inferences about a picture that will be provided by the teacher. Context of the Lesson: Where does this lesson fall in what is currently being taught? This is the students second week of academics, and this will be their first experience in fifth grade with making inferences. Up until ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. How Was The X-Ray Diffraction Spectrum Of All Sulfurized... 3.1 Structural properties Figure 1 showed the X ray diffraction spectrum of all sulfurized Co doped FeS2 films. The comparison with JCPDS 01 071 1680 indicated a pure cubic FeS2 structure for all these samples. The ratio between peaks from each sample demonstrated a poly crystal structure. Also, no clear preferential growth direction could be observed for each sample. The peaks of all Co doped films were very close to the pure iron pyrite peaks. No clear peak shift could be observed. This indicated that shallow cobalt doping had little impact on the crystal structure of FeS2. Scherrer equation, as shown in equation 1, was applied to estimate the average crystallite size of these sulfurized films. . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As more electrons were introduced, the net carrier concentration started to decrease until the electrons became the majority carriers. This process may explain the change of conduction type and carrier concentrations. The carrier mobility, however, decreased gradually from 6.52 cm2 /V*s to 4.30 cm2/V*s as cobalt doping increased from 2 at% to 6 at%. This phenomenon could be explained as the decreased mean free path of charged carriers because of the larger size of the incorporated cobalt ions than the original iron ions. After switching to n type, the increasing carrier concentration may also contributed to the reducing of carrier mobility. As a consequence, cobalt doping served well as an n type dopant after 3 at% doping level. 3.2.2 Temperature Dependence Figure 2 showed the relationship between the reciprocal of resistivity to the reciprocal of temperature, graphed as a logarithmic plot. The resistance change of the Co doped FeS2 samples with Al electrodes were collected from room temperature (25oC) to 140oC. From Fig.2, the resistance of all samples decreased while heating. This showed a general semiconductor behavior of these Co doped FeS2 films. The data in Fig.2 showed a linear dependence for each sample. The fitting lines could be described by Arrhenius equation as shown in equation 2: . (2) Here Пѓ, k, T means conductivity, Boltzmann constant and temperature, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1961, they were known as the Chicago Packers before switching their name to the Zephyrs the following season. Starting in 1963, they moved to Baltimore and were known as the Bullets. They landed in Washington in 1973 74 as the Capital Bullets and became known as the Washington Bullets in 1974 75. They kept the Bullets name until 1997 when they became the Washington Wizards ( Wizards History, Online). The Wizards won one NBA championship in the 1977 78 season when they defeated the Seattle SuperSonics as the Bullets.
