Albert Bandura is one of the most influential psychologist in history, best known for his famous Bobo
Doll Experiment. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory
that we learn from one another through observation.
To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed
aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford
University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and
female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24
children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a
model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato
prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5
foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing
toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking
for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the
nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. Following the mallet

The main purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the theory of rational expectations . I
want to first define the basic assumptions of the rational expectations approach , then I provide several
examples of their use. I have chosen my examples to illustrate how it has been applied to large scale

The Hardness Of 3 Steel Alloys
By varying the carbon content, cooling rates, we will get different microstructure of steels that yield
different properties which can be tailored to meet different engineering applications. In this
experiment, the hardness of 3 steel alloys with varying Carbon compositions will be compared. With
different amounts of Pearlite formed, we can also estimate the hardness of pure pearlite and ferrite.
Lastly, the fourth sample will be quenched in water and a Martensitic structure will be observed. We
will discuss the attributes that allows Martensite to be one of the hardest steel alloy available.
1. Introduction
There are many different forms of steel alloys used today. They are tailored during their processing
phases to meet the wide array of engineering applications. Steel alloy in its simplest form is a basic
mixture of Iron and Carbon and by varying the carbon content, the rate of cooling and the addition of
impurities like Chromium for high corrosion resistance, we are able to derive alloys of different
mechanical properties such as stainless steel and tool steels as these 3 factors affect the microstructure
