LCDs have several advantages including being lightweight, energy efficient, and cost effective over the long term. However, they also have some disadvantages such as not being suitable for dim lighting, requiring frequent adjustments, and having limited viewing angles. Specifically, LCDs produce bright images using less power than CRTs, emit lower electromagnetic fields, have no geometric distortion at native resolution, are thin and compact taking up less space, and have a flat screen shape. However, they have a fixed aspect ratio and resolution, lower contrast and less accurate colors due poor black levels, are more expensive initially than CRTs, have irregular grayscales and fewer intensity levels, and restricted viewing angles affecting brightness and contrast.
