Urinary Incontinence And Its Effects On Women
Approximately seventy percent of people experience urinary incontinence (UI) as a result of being
admitted into the hospital. Urinary incontinence is more prevalent in elderly people, and
predominantly affects women more often than men. Urinary incontinence can be is described as the
uncontrolled loss of urine, and can be broken down into five different types. The first type of urinary
incontinence is stress incontinence, which occurs when there is involuntary emission of urine due to
coughing, sneezing, or applying any increased pressure to the abdominal region. The second type is
urge incontinence, which is when a person has a strong need to void, the bladder then spasms, and the
person experiences a spontaneous loss of urine. The third type of incontinence that a person may
experience is referred to as mixed incontinence. A person may experience a combination of symptoms
from any of the five types of incontinence. The fourth type of incontinence is overflow incontinence.
Typically a person s bladder fills completely, often without the urge to void, resulting in urinary
dribbling. Lastly, there is functional incontinence. During this type of incontinence a person is
generally aware of the urge to void, but due to some physical or mental deficit, a person has the
inability to make it to the restroom. This poses many problems for both the patient and for the
hospitals. As the numbers for UI continue to rise, the risk for falls will increase, as well as increasing
the amount

Ancient Civilization And The Mayan People
Every ancient civilization had a set of beliefs and the Mayan people were no different. The Mayan
people believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld, or the Place of Awe, (2012).
The Mayans believed in many gods, human sacrifice and the burial process for the poor and the kings
were very different. The Mayans became around 250 AD and the Olmec s influenced their religious
culture. It was not until 900 AD that the Mayans began to flourish in cities across modern day Mexico,
Guatemala and north Belize. One of the most important gods for the Mayans was the supreme god
Itzamana, the creator god, the god of fire and god of the earth (2012). Itzamana is shown as a king
who was in charge of minor gods. The God of Itzamana is connected to the sacred world tree, or Ceiba
tree, which for the Maya linked together the sky, earth, and the underworld (2012). The Mayas
believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld or place of Awe. The Mayan people
believed that gods, spirits and dead ancestors lived in the underworld. The person in charge of sending
people to the underworld was the main chief. Unlike some religions, the belief of the underworld for
the Mayans was very sad, dark, cold and a place where there where mean gods that would torment
them (2015). The Maya believed super natural levels not as heaven and hell, but the upper, middle and
underworld that consisted of many levels with the underworld being the lowest level. The Ceiba tree

Easter Island Case Study Essay
Name of Case Study: Easter Island: A Case Study in Non sustainability (Foot p.11) Key environmental
points: Easter Island is a remotely located island in the South Pacific. The island was first populated in
circa A. D. 400 by a group of travelers from Polynesia. The island, shaped like a triangle, was
positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the closest continental land
mass (Foot p. 11). According to David Foot the island originally supported a great palm forest (p. 12).
Sediment cores collected have shown these palm trees to have been considerable in both height and
diameter, actually dwarfing the three foot diameter of the largest currently existing palm tree
(Diamond p. 103). Frost further pointed out how attractive the island would seem to those early
Polynesian settlers, Surrounded by an abundant ocean and supporting two extinct volcanic craters that
contained natural lakes for fresh water, Easter Island appeared to have many attractive features for
human habitation (p. 12 13). The location of Easter Island just south of the Tropic of Capricorn would
have afforded a mild climate similar to the climate of South Florida. Archeological findings show that
this robust population had a diet consisting of land birds, porpoises, and lithic mulch agriculture. The
most intriguing aspect of the culture of the people of Easter Island, would have to be the multitude of
large stone statues placed on burial sites called ahu. By the 16th century

Essay On Certified Nursing Assistant
The trade that I choose is Certified Nursing Assistant. I choose that trade because that s a step to enter
the career that I want. I want to be a Register Nurse at Radys Children Hospital or at Sharp. I like
helping people and especially kids, I think kids are the best and especially when you have problems or

lot of friends that they graduated from here and that they are now working. In my career that I choose

Some skills that you have to know are the need to be a fast learner, multitask person, be able to work
with both hands and be going from one side to another and standing all they. As a certified nursing

Quality Items For An Organization s Reputation
It is important to maintain Quality of their product because Quality items keep up consumer loyalty
and consistency and reduce the danger and expense of providing defective products. Firms have things
they must consider such as: Customer Expectations, their reputation, meeting company standards, the
most important one which is cost.
Customer Expectations Your shoppers anticipate that you will convey quality items. On the off chance
that you don t, they will rapidly search for options. Quality is basic to fulfilling your clients and
holding their dedication so they keep on buying from you later on. Quality items make a vital
commitment to long haul income and benefit. They additionally empower you to charge and keep up
higher costs.
Company Reputation (how can I use that sentence) Quality has a big impact on an organization s
reputation. The internet today can make or break a firm. It does that because it gives shoppers the
ability to share information about a product or service they have received. On the internet, there are
now survey websites. Then there are people who may purchase a product and make a video of them
reviewing the Quality of it and that can damage a company s reputation. In the business world social
media play a major role because the potential buyer can share their dislikes and likes about a product
and they use networking sites such as Facebook, twitter, and Instagram. A solid reputation for quality
can be a vital differentiator in the business

Globalization Versus Internationalisation
Globalisation versus Internationalisation, what do we think?
We have seen the main aspects of Globalisation and his mechanisms during this report. Now we are
going to explain the difference between globalisation and internationalisation. This are two words very
close but not similar. Firstly, we will define internationalisation rigorously, and then we will see what
internationalisation in the world is. We will try to explain the main stage. We also define globalization
to be able to compare the two terms. Finally we underline the differences and similarities of
globalisation and internationalisation.
According to G. Rocher, internationalisation refers to different exchanges as economics, politics,
cultural, between nations. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Excluding the economy, there are other aspects of the world which are globalised, like culture (For
instance: Mcdonaldization), politic and sociologic.
Now we have briefly described what is internationalisation and globalization, we can explain the main
similarities and differences. Both, internationalisation and globalisation have an impact and play a role
at the world level. They create interdependence between states in the world but not at the same degree.
Foremost, internationalisation is a term which appears before globalisation to explain the first
exchange between countries thanks to free trade. Companies and firms to be more productive, more
competitive and also to have an important area to sell there product spread their border. So
internationalisation it s just trading at the world level. (Internationalisation is not just an economic
dimension). Globalisation is a kind of deepening of internationalisation. It appears when the
international exchange has increased and developed. In fact globalisation needs internationalisation to
exist; it s the sequel of internationalisation. Globalisation tends to a standardization of the world while
internationalisation is to adapt a company or a country to the world trade.
To conclude we can say that internationalisation and globalisation have the same origin (free trade),
but globalisation goes far, toward standardization of the economy but also culture and politic.
Globalisation is powerful and

Thomas Paine Argument
Paine uses a number of arguments to support his belief that the American colonies would be better off
as an independent nation. First of all, he believes that the argument to rectify relations with England is
unfair, as though she is referred to as America s mother country, she has to right to be referred to as
such. The colonies were composed of numerous nationalities, not just Englishmen. In fact, Not one
third of the inhabitants, even of this province are of English descent. The fact that the British do not
even compose most of America s population, coupled with the fact that Paine believes her behavior
towards her child country to be worse than that of a brute s, causes Paine to believe that referring to

The Destruction Of The Ganges River In The United States
Pete Seeger sang, sailing up my dirty stream, still I love it and I ll keep the dream . All around the
world, rivers that are culturally and economically important are being polluted. Three examples of this
unfortunate phenomena are the Ganges River in India, the Han River in Korea, and the Hudson River
in the United States.
Hindus consider the Ganges to be the goddess Ganga personified. They believe that bathing in the
river is cleansing, resulting in the forgiveness of sins and salvation. All people, it is believed, should
experience this sacred river at least once in their life. Many important festivals take place along the
banks of this river. The Ganges River also irrigates a large area of farmland, where rice, sugarcane,
lentils and wheat are grown. Unfortunately, the Ganges River has been polluted by sewage, trash,
food, and human and animal remains, and industrial waste. Water borne illnesses, including cholera,
hepatitis, typhoid and amoebic dysentery are widespread. Although a very important river to the
people of India, the Ganges is also a very polluted river. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

agriculture and generating hydroelectric power. However, the Han River is also polluted. There is
industrial pollution, as well as farm runoff containing fertilizers, insecticides, and manure from area
farms. These pollutants result in gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases for the people who depend

the scientists did increase Charlie s intelligence it was not enough to be called a quality of life. Charlie

quality of life. Another reason is that the scientists only tested the operation on one mouse which was
not enough to test it on a human being. The scientists should have tested the operation on more than
one mouse so they can be more confident about the operation. Not only does this operation contain
more than one flaw but it is also an impossible operation. Before Charlie lost his intelligence he did

The Current Road Safety Measures
Introduction
There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If any of
these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus
have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus
area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the
speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe.
The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this
experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected
by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and
makes suggestions for future experiments and studies.
Experimental Methodology
To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass
through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time
intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was
placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the
cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding.
Items needed for this experiment include spray paint, a measuring wheel, a stopwatch, a pen, a
clipboard, and the

Pretribulational Premillennialism And Jesus
Another mayor view for the millennium is Pretribulational premillennialism. This view is pretty much
the same has the premillennialism that Jesus is returning before the millennium, but the difference is
that Jesus is returning before the tribulation. With this been said, Pretribulational premillennialism also
has Jesus returning twice, once for the believers, and then after the end of seven years of tribulation.
Pretribulational premillennialism also believe when Jesus returns for the church, it will be the end of
the church age, and Jesus will suddenly be rapturing all believers to himself on the clouds. The dead
believers will resurrect and the living believers will be transform has they been caught up into the sky.

The Film Analysis Of Dunkirk By Christopher Nolan
The movie Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan captures the action and intensity of a war zone in a sandy
beach in northern France. The criteria for any movie to exceed expectations would be to have a strong
story arc, character development, music, suspense, special effects, authenticity to history, and realistic
setting. Dunkirk meets all the criteria for a movie that s why it passed the $500 million mark this past
weekend. For a historical movie, Dunkirk, exceeds the criteria for a successful movie because of it s
focus on character development, being historically accurate, and being suspenseful. Dunkirk is

out of fuel. The three citizens risking their lives step up because they feel like it s their duty. They

also has minimal exaggerated parts. John Broich from Slate said In terms of accuracy, it rates pretty
highly. There are no big, glaring historical whoppers . The portrayal of the soldiers was accurate.
During war soldiers had to deal with artillery fire, air assaults, and pure trauma and during the movie
it was represented correctly. Nolan s idea for this movie was to represent the terrors of war and
experiences soldiers had to deal with. Not everything was portrayed accurately but this is a movie and
the audience needs to be entertained somehow. Although Tommy and Alex are character brought to
life, soldiers would try anything possible to get on ships. Unfortunately, many shivered to death
because of the fear of being trapped in a shipping ship. Points were exaggerated to serve a purpose
however, the audience member can realistically create an image in their head about war and what it

Greek Theater And Its Impact On The City State Of Athens
When considering ancient Greek life, theater was massively important. This is apparent by the Theater
of Dionysius placement in the city state of Athens, with its close proximity to the Acropolis and the
Parthenon. The Acropolis by definition meant the high point of the city state, and was on a plateau. Its
raised status highlights its importance, thus radiating that importance onto nearby structures as well.
Although the Greeks valued rational and reason, they also valued their emotional side as well. All
plays were dedicated to the god of emotion Dionysius. Much of what we know of the comedic aspects
of Hellenic Greek theater productions comes from the plays of the playwright Aristophanes.

Compared to the way Athenian women were presented in Lysistrata, Aristophanes sticks to the now
known facts of their lifestyle fairly closely. In the play s opening, Lysistrata, our female protagonist,
calls women from not only her home of Athens, but as we all the Spartan enemy and other places to
meet in and is upset at their untimely arrival. Her neighbor Calonice appears and reassures her they
will come eventually, but they are simply delayed due to having to care for their husbands, household,
and children. In contrast, Spartan women were educated, participated in sports, and had little to do
with the upbringing of their children. In fact, they only had contact with their husbands for sexual
relation purposes. When the women finally arrive, Lysistrata inquires how many of their husbands are
gone away to war. Some of the women reply their husbands have been gone for months. Lampito, a
beautiful Spartan girl, expresses she is unhappy because her husband comes home and no sooner grabs
his shield and chargers off again. Though according to our textbook, Spartan women were free to
remarry if her husband was gone away to war for too long. Thus begins the flaws in Lysistrata s plan
of how the women will force the men to claim peace. On the home front, war had a massive effect on

(Held et al.,1999,p8) There are many organisations which operate on the international stage which
broadly fall into two groups intergovernmental organisations (IGOs) such as the United Nations,

such as Oxfam, Greenpeace, or the International Red Cross. IGOs and NGOs are important actors in
the governance process. (Hague and Harrop,2001, p.50 ) Multinational companies (MNCs) are also
hugely powerful players on the world stage as nations have often become economically dependent on
the vast amounts of capital which these companies generate. Around fifty percent of world production
is undertaken by multi national companies. The UK government often mounts huge efforts to
encourage multi national companies to remain here in the UK. Multi national companies can exert real
pressure on the policy process in the UK merely by suggesting that they will relocate. Companies are

An Investigation of a Language Profile of a Mother-Tongue...
1. Introduction As 50% or more of the world s towns and cities are bilingual or multilingual
communities (Pennington et al. 1992), quantities of research studies have been carried out on language
behavior or choice of a certain ethnic group in a bilingual or multilingual community. This research
focuses on the language behavior of a mother tongue Mandarin speaker who is having graduate study
in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a typical metropolis immersed in multilingualism, since there are
considerably diverse ethnic groups in this area (2011 Census Office, 2012). According to the report of

Though there has been a much wider tolerance of Mandarin speaking in different contexts in Hong
Kong (Chen, 2012), Mandarin speakers experience language alternation in this triglossic community.
Many studies have been conducted to examine the language behavior of a specific ethnic group.
Gibbons (1987) and Pennington et al. (1992) carried out empirical studies on investigating code
switching and code mixing of HongKongers in different communicative contexts in Hong Kong and
their attitudes towards language alternation. Pannu (1994) focused her research on Indian ethnic group
in Hong Kong, which explored their language repertoire and perception of their language use. As
Pennington et al. (1992, p.3) described, the ultimate goal of those investigations is to model language
choice of different groups in Hong Kong by presenting their language use. As previously
demonstrated, mainland Chinese students have taken up the major proportion of non local tertiary
students in Hong Kong, and it will probably be an evitable tendency in the following years (Yeung,
2012). Nonetheless, little study has been undertaken to shed light on language profile around
sociolinguistic question of who speaks what language to whom, when, where and why (Fishman,
1972) on mother tongue

The Field Of Critical Care
Introduction
The field of critical care is rapidly changing. It is important for anesthesiologists be knowledgeable of
these changes for providing care to critically ill patients in the perioperative period. The purpose of
this chapter is to provide update for clinicians on ICU issues relevant to clinical practice. Topics which
will be discussed include: modes of mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, antibiotic
prophylaxis, nutritional support, sedation management, transport and transfer of care.
I. Modes of Mechanical Ventilation
Introduction
Most patients undergoing general anesthesia for surgical procedures require mechanical ventilation.
One of the biggest challenges facing clinicians providing mechanical ventilatory support today is
managing the balance between providing adequate gas exchange and avoiding lung injury associated
with positive pressure ventilation. Patients with respiratory failure need adequate tissue oxygenation
and acid base balance; however, the lungs are fragile structures that can be injured by over distension,

G. B. Shaw s Pygmalion
Like all of Shaw s great dramatic creations, Pygmalion is a richly complex play. It combines a central
story of the transformation of a young woman with elements of myth, fairy tale, and romance, while
also combining an interesting plot with an exploration of social identity, the power of science,
relations between men and women, and other issues.
Pygmalion is one of Shaw s most popular plays as well as one of his most straightforward ones. The
form has none of the complexity that we find in Heartbreak House or Saint Joan, nor are the ideas in
Pygmalion nearly as profound as the ideas in any of Shaw s other major works. It can be considerated
an issue of language.

An even more obvious example of this id the epilogue to Pygmalion: the rest of the story need not to

The first impression we get of Eliza s is a poor flower girl that has a very strong, whiny personality. I
ain t done nothing wrong by speaking to the gentleman. I ve a right to sell flowers if I keep off the
kerb. This is our first view of Eliza standing up for her self and not being outspoken. This foreshadows
a girl that would not be good in a relationship because in the time this book is set, a woman was to
obey the man and let him do the big talk.
While Eliza in a gloomily and rainy evening is trying to sell flowers out of S. Paul s church, a man
have been observing her and taking down notes on a notebook. Eliza was conversating with two
women, a mother and daughter, who were waiting for a taxi under the shelter of the church s portico.
Their conversation begins when Freddy, the son who is looking for the taxi, carelessly bumps into the
flower girl. She attempts to get the mother to buy the flowers her son has damaged, and is successful.
She then tries to sell her flowers to another gentleman, when someone in the crowd warns her that a
man is taking notes on what she has been saying. She becomes hysterical, believing the man

What Is An Algorithm That Exploit The Sensor Network...
Sensor Network Lifetime Authors in [58], introduced an algorithm that exploit the sensor redundancy
in the same zone by dividing the network into clusters thus the maintaining of the backbone
connectivity can be done by retaining an important set of working nodes and close the redundant ones.
Regarding the communication RTCP denotes equivalent nodes based on the connectivity information
of one hop neighbors which causes in reducing the communication overhead and then the scheduling
of the nodes is done based on that equivalence. RTCP allows only to the elected node to be active in
each cluster. The simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms some other
existing algorithms in terms of power consumptions and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the Bloom filter becomes the name of the node. DINAS addresses the problem of binding
between a name and its IPv6 address, so that the nodes can analyze a name to obtain the address. The

discovery in low power and lossy networks EADP [61], proposed a service discovery mechanism
suitable with 6LoWPAN networks. EADP realize fast discovery times, low energy consumption and
low produced overhead with timely interaction to network dynamics. To assure these qualities, EADP
adopts a fully distributed approach based on an adaptive push pull model. EADP was implemented,

Workplace Violence Level
There are several levels of workplace violence. Level one is being disrespectful to other co workers,
not cooperating, verbally abusing others, or simply intimidating and manipulating them. For level of
workplace violence, an employees should report this, and seek help responding to the situation. If the
person is the supervisor, you report it to upper management and appropriate response action should

It Should Be Mandatory that All Security Guards Be Armed...
Other than police officers there are now security guards at just about every corner figuratively
speaking. Security guards spend their time guarding buildings and garages around the clock, day and
night. Most of these guards are assigned to work cites alone where there is no other employees or
supervisors present. When security guards are thought of one of the most popular thing that comes to
most peoples mind is they are rental cops. Private security faces many possible dangers and they can
become part of a violent situation at any given moment. . Without fire arms all they have is a outfit

That unarmed guard would not be able to stop the robber from putting a bullet through the bank
employees or the bank costumers, nor would the guard be able to stop him from robbing the place. On
the other hand if that guard who was standing in the corner would have been armed it would be a lot
more intimidating. The sight of the fire arm on the guards waist may make the criminal think twice. If
at that point the criminal would over look the guard and proceed to rob the place, the guard could then
put the skills he learned through his training to use. He/she could possible stop the criminal before any
harm came to anyone. Another example of dangerous location guards have to patrol is parking garage.
In Dayton Ohio most big garages have private security guarding the places throughout the night when

The Pros And Cons Of British Education Policies
Trowler (2003) describes education policy as a design to follow the principles and procedures relating
to education issues, the specifications of which is to bring about the desired goals. However, Ball
(1990) defines educational policy as not only a direct response, but also a respond to the formation of
complex and diverse elements. Many policies begin at the macro level, with large organisations such
as The World Bank, UNESCO and the United Nations. The policy then streams down to a national
level, which then filters further down into regional and local levels. Bell and Stevensons (xxxx) point
out that most educational policies start with the central government, which then transfers onto local
councils and schools. This then has a considerable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout history, there have been many attempts to reform the education system in this country. All
of these reforms have different policies, which a different government brings in every time and it is
elected into power. They bring their own political agendas to alter the education system. Despite all
the previous policies, there are some that have their advantages and disadvantages but the major shift
happened in between 1980 1990 (Ball, 1990). Britain s education system became increasingly
politicised during this time. Ball (1990:3) describes this period as Thatcherism . Margaret Thatcher s
Conservative government brought a lot of changes in the education system, including parents choice
in selecting schools for their children, the national curriculum, national assessment and school self
sufficiency. The main reason for introducing the national curriculum was due to the failing teachers
and this lead to a failing country (Trowler, 1993:100). Whitty (2016:27) describes Margaret Thatcher s
Conservative government restructure as a marketising approach to the reform of the school system .
Similaly, Machin (CEE DP 57) refers to this as being market mechanisms . These reforms were
designed to improve pupil s achievement and the achievement rate did improve. However, this raised
concerns about increased inequality in our school systems. Different policies have different
implications, as mentioned above. The Conservative government s policy between the years 1980 to
1990 had achieved its target, but its implications left a huge gap of inequality in our school system.
Trowler (1993: 152) discusses the current century education policies which have to solve five major
issues. These are: improving education provision, social deprivation, improve the teaching profession,
improve educational management and to create a learning

Analysis Of Hassan V. City Of New York
In this particular case, Hassan v. City of New York, a variety of issues have been raised that intersect
with the idea of government surveillance on these Muslim Communities. This case does not utilize a
federal or state RFRA, but rather focuses strictly on determining the legal validity of the government
surveillance program of Muslim Americans. The Plaintiffs have argued that the NYPD s government
surveillance program has violated the equal protection, establishment, and free exercise freedoms of
the constitution. To understand these issues, it is important to examine each of these issues one by one.
First, there is the issue of equal protection. The issue the plaintiffs raise here is whether the
government can legally single out and discriminate against these Muslim Americans based purely on
religion. Currently, religion is not seen as a suspect classification unlike race, because it can be
changed, yet for most people, identifying with or practicing a religion is an immutable part of their
identity as a person. The plaintiffs argue that choosing to surveying the Muslim Community in
particular should be viewed as unconstitutional discrimination, while the NYPD argues that
surveillance on the Muslim community based on their religious affiliation and classification is well
within their constitutional rights, since religion doesn t fall into the same suspect classification
categories of race and gender. The opinion in Third Circuit Court of Appeals complicates this issue

Give All For All Analysis
For the reflection, I chose service among many different spiritual practices in this book. The reason
why I chose it was because I have been interested in serving others in a right way. The selection of
Hadewijch Give all for all helped me understand what God expects me to do for others. However,
Richard Foster mentions at the end of the selection that it was not easy to admit the truth that the
author discussed. On my first time of reading, I also had similar feeling like this. It s because my acts
of service for others seem no longer commendable in the sight of God according to his writing. As I
read it over and over to fully understand its meaning, I realized that my services that I have done for
others may be not satisfying or pleasing God.
Through this reading, I looked back my ministry that I have done for others in the past. I thought I
could be proud of myself at least in this area, service. Regularly, I visit a nursing home to see an old
lady who now became my friend. I pick up a widow s three children once a week, feed them, help

No Place Like Home
To me home is where you go to get away from the crazy outside world. Home is a place where you
feel a sense of belonging and familiarity. Home for me is currently here in Derby, Kansas. For almost

have a place to go when I want to escape the rest of the world.
I am allowed to go home each and every day as I please. But only because my lovely mother allows
me to come and go. Since day one of moving into the house my mom has had it feeling just like a

have a chance to see the cats zoom by if you get in the front door fast enough. Or you might have to
chase after the dogs if you don t shut the outside glass door correctly. Or maybe you are lucky enough
to get there when mom is working in the kitchen. From what I have been told by friends and family

Old Alejandr The Window Of The Picture Frame Inside The...
As far back as Alejandra Franco can remember, the frames hanging in the hallway of her family s
Coachella Valley home were always empty. The unfilled wall décor did not represent a home devoid
of memories or a showcase for an unorthodox interior decorating theme. Instead, they were an
intentional symbol of an unspoken expectation of the future for Alejandra and her three younger
siblings.
With only a grade school education, Ana and Marcelino Franco came to America penniless and told
their kids that their only job was to obtain an education because it is the key to your future.
In 2000, they put their mantra into action almost immediately by enrolling three year old Alejandra in
the Head Start Program administered by the Riverside County Office of Education within the
Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). After two years of preschool, Alejandra received
a completion certificate that was immediately hung with pride in a picture frame inside the Franco
family home.
Jim Greene, a veteran educator who was the Director of Children and Family Services for CVUSD,
had suggested a tip to parents who wanted to establish education as a priority in their families that
they could visually and nonverbally reinforce the importance of education simply by hanging empty
picture frames in their homes to symbolize the expectation of forthcoming diplomas from junior high,
high school, and college. As each of their children would reach graduation milestones, the framed

Health care in America has been a challenging topic to address, dating back to the 1900s. Politicians,

halt the whaling industry (International Whaling Comission, n.d.); however, nations such as Norway
and Japan insisted that their practices continue on the basis of cultural exception. The economies of
their whaling regions, they argued, would be put into danger by the moratorium, and so the nations
have been allowed to continue hunting small amounts of the non endangered winke whales and, in
some cases, fin whales. As whaling is an important part of the coastal economies for certain countries,
the nations certainly have a right to attempt a case of cultural exemption. Without whaling certain
villages could lose most of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be done through two main forces: through putting a hard limit on the amount of whales and
types of whales to be hunted and through requiring scientists to monitor whale populations in the
areas. The first limit will keep whaling industries in check by making sure that they can still provide
income for their workers while protecting whale populations. Also, it will mean that a quota cannot be
surpassed, so only a small amount of whales can be hunted. Also, biologists and conservationists
should definitely be involved to make sure that quotas are not too high. Quotas which are too high
would result in hunting whales faster than the populations can reproduce, causing a threat to the whale
populations and the surrounding ecosystems, and so they must be monitored

The Root Cause Of Piracy In Somalia
Many people of Somalia find piracy to be acceptable. The reason being that it is for the good of
others, others meaning them. Piracy had become their way of life. Had other nations reached out to
Somalia, things would have been different. However, the world is harsh and cruel, and many would
rather look after themselves than a stranger. Instead, nations began to trash the land of Somalia. The
people no longer see a point in trying to gain profit through morally correct manners, more so because
their endeavors are fruitless. It began with fishermen who were tired of foreign fishing fleets taking
advantage of the instability in the country, dumping toxic waste and illegally fishing in the Somali
waters. These activities hampered the economic, environmental and health of the country and its
people (Johnson). The people of Somalia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other nations refused to properly dispose of their trash in an area that would cost them money and
instead disposed of their garbage in Somalia, where they got rid of it for less at the expense of Somalia
s land. The other nations only took advantage of Somalia as they deteriorated. There were no attempts
to assist the nation. The root cause of Somali s piracy, as stated by Joana Ama Osei TuTu of the
KAIPTC, is that nations are, Taking advantage of the lack of political security and non enforcement of
environmental security laws, the companies are dumping waste in Somali waters. This is a practice
that has been going on since the outbreak of the civil war. Somalia has no central government, it is
being overtaken by the trash of other nations, as proven in 2004 when waste washed ashore after a
tsunami, and is falling to ruins. There is seemingly no way for the nation to recover, thus they were
forced to turn to piracy. In the past people became pirates to become free. In Somali, people became
pirates because there was no other

  • 2. Urinary Incontinence And Its Effects On Women Approximately seventy percent of people experience urinary incontinence (UI) as a result of being admitted into the hospital. Urinary incontinence is more prevalent in elderly people, and predominantly affects women more often than men. Urinary incontinence can be is described as the uncontrolled loss of urine, and can be broken down into five different types. The first type of urinary incontinence is stress incontinence, which occurs when there is involuntary emission of urine due to coughing, sneezing, or applying any increased pressure to the abdominal region. The second type is urge incontinence, which is when a person has a strong need to void, the bladder then spasms, and the person experiences a spontaneous loss of urine. The third type of incontinence that a person may experience is referred to as mixed incontinence. A person may experience a combination of symptoms from any of the five types of incontinence. The fourth type of incontinence is overflow incontinence. Typically a person s bladder fills completely, often without the urge to void, resulting in urinary dribbling. Lastly, there is functional incontinence. During this type of incontinence a person is generally aware of the urge to void, but due to some physical or mental deficit, a person has the inability to make it to the restroom. This poses many problems for both the patient and for the hospitals. As the numbers for UI continue to rise, the risk for falls will increase, as well as increasing the amount ... The Mayan people believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld, or the Place of Awe, (2012). The Mayans believed in many gods, human sacrifice and the burial process for the poor and the kings were very different. The Mayans became around 250 AD and the Olmec s influenced their religious culture. It was not until 900 AD that the Mayans began to flourish in cities across modern day Mexico, Guatemala and north Belize. One of the most important gods for the Mayans was the supreme god Itzamana, the creator god, the god of fire and god of the earth (2012). Itzamana is shown as a king who was in charge of minor gods. The God of Itzamana is connected to the sacred world tree, or Ceiba tree, which for the Maya linked together the sky, earth, and the underworld (2012). The Mayas believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld or place of Awe. The Mayan people believed that gods, spirits and dead ancestors lived in the underworld. The person in charge of sending people to the underworld was the main chief. Unlike some religions, the belief of the underworld for the Mayans was very sad, dark, cold and a place where there where mean gods that would torment them (2015). The Maya believed super natural levels not as heaven and hell, but the upper, middle and underworld that consisted of many levels with the underworld being the lowest level. The Ceiba tree or ... • 4. Easter Island Case Study Essay Name of Case Study: Easter Island: A Case Study in Non sustainability (Foot p.11) Key environmental points: Easter Island is a remotely located island in the South Pacific. The island was first populated in circa A. D. 400 by a group of travelers from Polynesia. The island, shaped like a triangle, was positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the closest continental land mass (Foot p. 11). According to David Foot the island originally supported a great palm forest (p. 12). Sediment cores collected have shown these palm trees to have been considerable in both height and diameter, actually dwarfing the three foot diameter of the largest currently existing palm tree (Diamond p. 103). Frost further pointed out how attractive the island would seem to those early Polynesian settlers, Surrounded by an abundant ocean and supporting two extinct volcanic craters that contained natural lakes for fresh water, Easter Island appeared to have many attractive features for human habitation (p. 12 13). The location of Easter Island just south of the Tropic of Capricorn would have afforded a mild climate similar to the climate of South Florida. Archeological findings show that this robust population had a diet consisting of land birds, porpoises, and lithic mulch agriculture. The most intriguing aspect of the culture of the people of Easter Island, would have to be the multitude of large stone statues placed on burial sites called ahu. By the 16th century ... Excluding the economy, there are other aspects of the world which are globalised, like culture (For instance: Mcdonaldization), politic and sociologic. Now we have briefly described what is internationalisation and globalization, we can explain the main similarities and differences. Both, internationalisation and globalisation have an impact and play a role at the world level. They create interdependence between states in the world but not at the same degree. Foremost, internationalisation is a term which appears before globalisation to explain the first exchange between countries thanks to free trade. Companies and firms to be more productive, more competitive and also to have an important area to sell there product spread their border. So internationalisation it s just trading at the world level. (Internationalisation is not just an economic dimension). Globalisation is a kind of deepening of internationalisation. It appears when the international exchange has increased and developed. In fact globalisation needs internationalisation to exist; it s the sequel of internationalisation. Globalisation tends to a standardization of the world while internationalisation is to adapt a company or a country to the world trade. All around the world, rivers that are culturally and economically important are being polluted. Three examples of this unfortunate phenomena are the Ganges River in India, the Han River in Korea, and the Hudson River in the United States. Hindus consider the Ganges to be the goddess Ganga personified. They believe that bathing in the river is cleansing, resulting in the forgiveness of sins and salvation. All people, it is believed, should experience this sacred river at least once in their life. Many important festivals take place along the banks of this river. The Ganges River also irrigates a large area of farmland, where rice, sugarcane, lentils and wheat are grown. Unfortunately, the Ganges River has been polluted by sewage, trash, food, and human and animal remains, and industrial waste. • 13. The Current Road Safety Measures Introduction There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If any of these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe. The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and makes suggestions for future experiments and studies. Experimental Methodology To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding. The purpose of this chapter is to provide update for clinicians on ICU issues relevant to clinical practice. Topics which will be discussed include: modes of mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, antibiotic prophylaxis, nutritional support, sedation management, transport and transfer of care. I. Modes of Mechanical Ventilation Introduction Most patients undergoing general anesthesia for surgical procedures require mechanical ventilation. One of the biggest challenges facing clinicians providing mechanical ventilatory support today is managing the balance between providing adequate gas exchange and avoiding lung injury associated with positive pressure ventilation. Patients with respiratory failure need adequate tissue oxygenation and acid base balance; however, the lungs are fragile structures that can be injured by over distension, alveolar collapse and reopening, and high oxygen exposure. This challenge in providing lung protective ventilation is made more difficult by the fact that lung injury is often heterogeneous and thus what may benefit gas exchange in one region (e.g., higher pressure) may worsen injury in another. Despite all the previous policies, there are some that have their advantages and disadvantages but the major shift happened in between 1980 1990 (Ball, 1990). Britain s education system became increasingly politicised during this time. Ball (1990:3) describes this period as Thatcherism . Margaret Thatcher s Conservative government brought a lot of changes in the education system, including parents choice in selecting schools for their children, the national curriculum, national assessment and school self sufficiency. The main reason for introducing the national curriculum was due to the failing teachers and this lead to a failing country (Trowler, 1993:100). Whitty (2016:27) describes Margaret Thatcher s Conservative government restructure as a marketising approach to the reform of the school system . Similaly, Machin (CEE DP 57) refers to this as being market mechanisms . These reforms were designed to improve pupil s achievement and the achievement rate did improve. However, this raised concerns about increased inequality in our school systems. Different policies have different implications, as mentioned above. The Conservative government s policy between the years 1980 to 1990 had achieved its target, but its implications left a huge gap of inequality in our school system. City of New York, a variety of issues have been raised that intersect with the idea of government surveillance on these Muslim Communities. This case does not utilize a federal or state RFRA, but rather focuses strictly on determining the legal validity of the government surveillance program of Muslim Americans. The Plaintiffs have argued that the NYPD s government surveillance program has violated the equal protection, establishment, and free exercise freedoms of the constitution. To understand these issues, it is important to examine each of these issues one by one. First, there is the issue of equal protection. The issue the plaintiffs raise here is whether the government can legally single out and discriminate against these Muslim Americans based purely on religion. Currently, religion is not seen as a suspect classification unlike race, because it can be changed, yet for most people, identifying with or practicing a religion is an immutable part of their identity as a person. The plaintiffs argue that choosing to surveying the Muslim Community in particular should be viewed as unconstitutional discrimination, while the NYPD argues that surveillance on the Muslim community based on their religious affiliation and classification is well within their constitutional rights, since religion doesn t fall into the same suspect classification categories of race and gender. I feel the love and security I get throughout the house and it s just the greatest feeling. It is the first house my parents have owned and it makes it that much more special to me. I am blessed I have a place to go when I want to escape the rest of the world. I am allowed to go home each and every day as I please. But only because my lovely mother allows me to come and go. Since day one of moving into the house my mom has had it feeling just like a home should in my eyes. You walk in and you can just tell whoever lives in the house is really about family, it is a very pleasant feel. There is pictures of friends and family all over the walls. I smile each time I pass the pictures and reminisce on the special moments and people in them. In my house you have a chance to see the cats zoom by if you get in the front door fast enough. Or you might have to chase after the dogs if you don t shut the outside glass door correctly. Or maybe you are lucky enough to get there when mom is working in the kitchen. From what I have been told by friends and family that is the best time to walk in, and I agree. But no matter the time you walk into my special place it s always a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Old Alejandr The Window Of The Picture Frame Inside The... As far back as Alejandra Franco can remember, the frames hanging in the hallway of her family s Coachella Valley home were always empty. The unfilled wall décor did not represent a home devoid of memories or a showcase for an unorthodox interior decorating theme. Instead, they were an intentional symbol of an unspoken expectation of the future for Alejandra and her three younger siblings. With only a grade school education, Ana and Marcelino Franco came to America penniless and told their kids that their only job was to obtain an education because it is the key to your future. In 2000, they put their mantra into action almost immediately by enrolling three year old Alejandra in the Head Start Program administered by the Riverside County Office of Education within the Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). After two years of preschool, Alejandra received a completion certificate that was immediately hung with pride in a picture frame inside the Franco family home. Jim Greene, a veteran educator who was the Director of Children and Family Services for CVUSD, had suggested a tip to parents who wanted to establish education as a priority in their families that they could visually and nonverbally reinforce the importance of education simply by hanging empty picture frames in their homes to symbolize the expectation of forthcoming diplomas from junior high, high school, and college. As each of their children would reach graduation milestones, the framed diplomas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Whaling Controversy In Norway And Japan Whaling Controversy in Norway and Japan For centuries nations across the globe have hunted a variety of animals to provide for their inhabitants diets and economies, which for some species has resulted in endangerment or extinction. Several species of whale have become endangered because of the process of whale hunting, and in order to combat excessive whale hunting the International Whaling Comission (IWC) set forth a ban in 1986 to halt the whaling industry (International Whaling Comission, n.d.); however, nations such as Norway and Japan insisted that their practices continue on the basis of cultural exception. The economies of their whaling regions, they argued, would be put into danger by the moratorium, and so the nations have been allowed to continue hunting small amounts of the non endangered winke whales and, in some cases, fin whales. Also, it will mean that a quota cannot be surpassed, so only a small amount of whales can be hunted. Also, biologists and conservationists should definitely be involved to make sure that quotas are not too high. Quotas which are too high would result in hunting whales faster than the populations can reproduce, causing a threat to the whale populations and the surrounding ecosystems, and so they must be monitored ...
