BrahMos Missile
HISTORY
 This missile is named after two rivers, the Brahmaputra & the Moskva

Maximum velocity Mach 2.5-2.8 (3,430.1 km/h)
Warhead capacity 200-300 Kg
Weight 3000 Kg
Length 8.4 m
Diameter 0.6m

Two stage propulsion
Solid state propelled for initial acceleration
liquid fuelled Ramjet for supersonic cruse

SALIENT FEATURES
 Fastest missile in world
 Can fly at minimum height of 5m & maximum height of 14000m
from ground
 Can be launched from universal vertical launch module (UVLM)
 Has a anti missile defense system i.e. this cant be intercept by any
existing missile in the world
 It can carry nuclear as well as biological weapons up to 300 kg &
cant be traced by any radar
 It can be launched from multiple target launcher.
 Advanced satellite navigation systems from Russia's Kh-555 and Kh-
101 strategic long-range cruise missiles, and GPS-GLONASS
 It is 'Fire and Forget' type missile
 A hypersonic version of the BrahMos is developed and presented in
Aero India 2015 held at Bangalore the speed of 6 Mach i.e. approx.
7000 km/h
VARIANTS BASED ON LAUNCHERS
BRAHMOS V/S WORLD
 India is only country to have supersonic technology
 India is only country which can launch sonic missiles from
submarine
 BrahMos is 4 times faster than Tomahawk (US army) which has
max speed of 890 Kmph
 BrahMos cant be intercepted by any exiting Radar
 BrahMos II has been developed having speed about 7000 kmph
 BrahMos II is more ahead than CVS 401 Perseus
 Perseus is joint venture of France & UK having speed of 2500
Kmph & range 180km
 BrahMos is only missile in the world which is based on fire forget
technology

No one can stop BrahMos from hitting its target

FURTHER ADVANCEMENT
BrahMos II completed its test fires & it was presented in
Bangalore Aero show 2015. It will be ready for delivery to
Defense sector by 2020. BrahMos itself a powerful missile but
the main problem is its range. By BrahMos I we can cover full
Pakistan & 70 % of China. Scientist are working to improve its
range. BrahMos III is under development & will be ready by
2022. BrahMos II uses the Ramjet engine while BrahMos III
uses Scarmjet engine (for range).
CONCLUSION
We are competing well in the world of technology BrahMos is the best
example.
We are using Ramjet engine while others are using cryogenic engine
which is more futuristic. Scientist are trying to develop the technique so
that Ramjet engine can be implemented in fighter jets. BrahMos is a
mark of glory for world that it doesn't produces carbon dioxide.

  • 6. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION Maximum Range 290Km Maximum velocity Mach 2.5-2.8 (3,430.1 km/h) Warhead capacity 200-300 Kg Weight 3000 Kg Length 8.4 m Diameter 0.6m Unit cost 17 crore (approx.) Engine two state engine
  • 7. RAMJET ENGINE Two stage propulsion Solid state propelled for initial acceleration liquid fuelled Ramjet for supersonic cruse No moving part in engine

SALIENT FEATURES  Fastest missile in world  Can fly at minimum height of 5m & maximum height of 14000m from ground  Can be launched from universal vertical launch module (UVLM)  Has a anti missile defense system i.e. this cant be intercept by any existing missile in the world  It can carry nuclear as well as biological weapons up to 300 kg & cant be traced by any radar  It can be launched from multiple target launcher.  Advanced satellite navigation systems from Russia's Kh-555 and Kh- 101 strategic long-range cruise missiles, and GPS-GLONASS  It is 'Fire and Forget' type missile  A hypersonic version of the BrahMos is developed and presented in Aero India 2015 held at Bangalore the speed of 6 Mach i.e. approx. 7000 km/h

BRAHMOS V/S WORLD  India is only country to have supersonic technology  India is only country which can launch sonic missiles from submarine  BrahMos is 4 times faster than Tomahawk (US army) which has max speed of 890 Kmph  BrahMos cant be intercepted by any exiting Radar  BrahMos II has been developed having speed about 7000 kmph  BrahMos II is more ahead than CVS 401 Perseus  Perseus is joint venture of France & UK having speed of 2500 Kmph & range 180km  BrahMos is only missile in the world which is based on fire forget technology
  • 11. FIRE FORGET TECHNIQUE No one can stop BrahMos from hitting its target
  • 12. BUYER OF BRAHMOS More than18 countries are buyers of BrahMos main of them are South Africa Indonesia Vietnam Malaysia Egypt Sri lanka France Oman Burnie Venezuela Chile Brazil Germany Bangladesh
  • 13. FURTHER ADVANCEMENT BrahMos II completed its test fires & it was presented in Bangalore Aero show 2015. It will be ready for delivery to Defense sector by 2020. BrahMos itself a powerful missile but the main problem is its range. By BrahMos I we can cover full Pakistan & 70 % of China. Scientist are working to improve its range. BrahMos III is under development & will be ready by 2022. BrahMos II uses the Ramjet engine while BrahMos III uses Scarmjet engine (for range).
  • 14. CONCLUSION We are competing well in the world of technology BrahMos is the best example. We are using Ramjet engine while others are using cryogenic engine which is more futuristic. Scientist are trying to develop the technique so that Ramjet engine can be implemented in fighter jets. BrahMos is a mark of glory for world that it doesn't produces carbon dioxide.
