The document summarizes the process of creating an animation game background in multiple steps:
1) The creator used the paintbrush tool to create the initial background but needed to erase excess areas with the eraser tool.
2) Additional tidying was done with the eraser tool to clean up unintentionally colored areas.
3) Work continued with finishing the fans' stand and adding a path separating the pitch from the stand.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Process
• So far I have worked on making the
background of my animation game,
but at this point have not got that far
on with making it. So far I have only
used the paintbrush tool, to create
the background of my animation
game. From looking at it you can see
that there are some areas that need
too be erased as I have gone over the
edges of some areas where the
background is coloured and for this is
would need too use the eraser tool to
tidy up areas around.
3. Process
• From looking at this I have not added
any new features to my animation
game background. I have in fact
actually worked o tidying up the
areas that I didn’t mean in colour in
on that specific colour, to do this I
made use of the eraser tool and have
successfully tied up the areas that
where unnecessarily coloured. There
is an alternative way that I could of
done so and that is by simply
colouring in the areas white that I
used the wrong colours on, but then I
believe that it would not look
professional enough.
4. Process
• At this stage I have continued to work
on the background of my animation
game, I have finished of work on the
fans stand, as shown by the side of
the football pitch where at the corner
the fans stand was in-complete in the
previous screenshot it is now and if
looking belowe it you can see that u
have attempetd to include a concrete
type of path that seperates the pitch
and fans stand kind of in some way,
to do this again I made use of the
paintbrush tool and also the eraser so
that I could remove any area that was
unecessary for it do be there. The next
stage I need two add the features of
the football pitch, which would be the
outlines of the pitch ect.
5. Process
• From the screenshot of this you can
see that I have made a start on
adding the features of the pitch to my
background, which as you can see I
have made headway on doing so by
putting the lines which belong along
the edges of the pitch and the centre
line that runs through the middle of
the pitch, along with I have along
included the corner boxes in each
corner of the pitch. Next I need to
make way on drawing the the goal
boxes on either side of the pitch and
include in on either side. Then finally I
will need to include something too
cover up the white are in the top left
corner and after I have done that I
will be able to add the features of the
animation game.
6. Process
• From at this point you can see that I
have completed adding the pitch lines
to the pitch, which is good as I am
now able to work on adding the the
players to the pitch and I can also add
in the football after I have done this I
will be at the point of which I am
ready to turn it into an animation
game. To finish of putting in the pitch
lines I was going to use the
paintbrush tool, but instead I used the
eraser tool to do so, which I found to
be much more quicker and effective
to do so.
7. Process
As you can see from this I have nearly
finished adding all of the features too my
animation game. Since which I have added
the football , goal keeping recorded and
one of the players, from looking at it you
can see that I have started too make the
other player but have not completed him
just yet, which is one thing that I need two
do. The idea of the goal scoring board is
that when someone scores there will be an
animation where the numbers change. To
whoever scored. The animation of that will
only be around 3 seconds long.
8. Process
By looking at this you can see that I haven’t
really done that much, in fact I haven’t I
have only finished on adding the last
feature of the game that needed too be
and that was the second football player
and made sure that all areas are coloured
in properly and there isn’t any areas that
are coloured in that aren’t meant to be or
any areas that have been coloured in the
wrong coloured and it visibly shows it. To
do this is simply used the eraser tool, over
the areas that this had happened and
sometimes the paintbrush tool in case of if
original colour became erased two, in
which case I would use the paintbrush tool
to re-cover that area with the original
colouor.
