19. Academic History
I have been to many different schools of education before coming to college, but the main school I
went to were I took my main path of education was Woldgate school/college, this is also were I
went on to do my GCSEs. Before I came to study my GCSEs I was studying the standard subjects that
everyone did at pretty much every school which was English, Maths, Science, Geography, History,
Religious studies, tech and Physical education. I found these to be quite easy going through my first
few years at Woldgate as at this point I wasn’t studying for GCSEs so I found everything to be quite
easy apart from maths, which Is the one subject that I have always found myself to struggle with,
apart from that I found myself to be alright with everything else.
When it came to making choices for my GCSEs I made the decision to pick the subjects with I
enjoyed most which in the end was Media studies, History, French and music. However when I
started the final years of woldgate (Year 10-11, GSCEs) I felt that I didn’t want to take music
anymore, unfortunately by the time I realised that it was too late and I found myself suck with it, I
tried my hardest with it but in the end I never understood it and gave up trying.
My favourite subject I found to be when taking my GCSEs was in fact Media Studies, I found this to
be a great subject and I really enjoyed it, it especially helped me when it came to college as when I
started I already knew that it was something I wanted to study and so had some knowledge already
when I started college, which I found to put me above some others.
I am currently on my third and final year at college, I have already studied Level 2 creative media
production and received a result of which I was happy with. I have also completed the first year of
level 3 creative media production and now I am onto year two of the level 3 course, which makes it
my final year. I am hoping to get a good result/grade with this final year so it will really help me
when I finish and leave to go look for employment.

20. Current Study
• Currently I am studying level 3 creative media production and I am finding it to be a very
enjoyable course to study, from when I first started this course last year (level 1) I felt that
it taught me a lot more and has led me on to know how to come up with and design great
things via editing software's. One of the main things for me of which I thought was great
from last year was learning how to create great things on website creators, which was
something of which I was not confident with until I had been shown how to, but now I
know that I can confidently create a fun and illustrated website with ease, this is something
which is great for me to use in the future employment industry as I could end up needing
to create a website for a company. From my previous level two course I was shown new
Photoshop skills, some of which I hadn’t used before but they were still quite basic skills
that I was shown/taught, but when it came to level 3 I was shown how to use the same
tools but in much more depth and different things I could do with them, this really opened
my mind more and expanded my Photoshop skills, which resulted in me being able to
create much more bigger and complex animation games via Photoshop. This I find will also
help me in the future as I hoping to specialise in video games/game coding in the future
and in employment as I have always enjoyed playing video games and being able to work
for a company like ‘Sony PlayStation’ in the future would be a dream job for me and it is
also something of which I would enjoy to study, if I made the choice to go to university.

21. The Future
• I have multiple ideas of what I would like to do in the future when it comes to working in
full time employment some of these ideas are in the media industry and some of them
aren’t. The main idea for me in the future is for me to hopefully land a job in the gaming
industry specifically more based towards video game company's such as Sony PlayStation
and Microsoft Xbox, my ideal one would obviously have to be ‘Sony PlayStation’ as I have
always been a fan of them and have always bought them. My ideal position would be more
towards video game coding and design as I think it is a job which I would thoroughly enjoy
and bring me new challenges on a daily basis. If I an unable to find a right suiting job in
this industry then I am not to panic as I have always had a back up option which is
mechanics/mechanical engineering, this is very much different to video game coding but it
Is the one thing of which I have always been interested in throughout my life and to me
getting a job in the mechanics industry would also be a job that would more be like a
dream job. This job would suit quite well as it is a subject of which I would quite like to
study at university if given the opportunity/chance to go and study it. Although its not a
course that is related to media but I know that I would be able to come out of University
and make something of myself.

22. Outside College
• When I am not at college I spend a lot of time doing various other activity's to fill in my
spare time, but obviously I also take the time to make sure that all my college work is
completed and done to a good standard so, these outside activates are more ones that I
carry out/do when I am not at college and don’t have work to be doing/catching up on. The
main activity of which I do outside of college is majority based around working, as I have
recently acquired a new job working in a local pub, which is starting to take up quite a bit
of my time during evenings/days off and in the weekend. I believe that working in a pub
will benefit me for applying/going to university because while working I am also learning
people skills therefore I feel at university I would be able to use these people skills and
meet many new people and It will also make me appear to be a more friendly person and e
majority of places like people who have worked in environments such as pubs One of the
main hobbies of which I enjoy to go out and do is more the idea of exercise and going to
the gym, I have been doing this for quite some time now as I find I to be a fun and self-
motivated way to pass the time and In the same time make you feel better about yourself,
this could help if I make the choice to go to University as it is something that I could carry
doing and keep on making me feel better about myself.

23. Conclusion
• If given the choice to go to university I believe that I would go to achieve higher grades in
education, so that I would have better chances in the future, especially when It comes to
be looking at future employment. But personally I feel that its not something that I would
really want to go and do as I would much rather be the kind to go out and start working in
full-time employment soon as I have finished college., but if this changes soon the
university would definitely be the next choice.

interactive media or mechanical engineering as I feel that they are subjects of which I would
