This document describes the process of creating a steampunk character design in Photoshop and Illustrator. The author used the polygonal lasso tool to trim excess parts of an image in Photoshop to isolate the steampunk design. Similar tools were used to smooth edges in Illustrator. Areas were colored using the pen tool to select shapes and the eyedropper tool to fill the selections.

1. This is the left arm of my Phtoshop Steampunk character design, I cut out the
excessive design using the polygonal lasso tool. This tool helps trim out other parts of the image that
is not required for the Steampunk design that I was aiming for. All the other images that had
trimmed edges were also a piece hat had been tampered with by this tool to get the smooh edges I
wanted.
All these images were ceated by using the polygon lasso tool, and this is the final piece of the
photoshop image.
My Illustrator piece was completed a similar way, using similar tools.
2. These images represent the changes of the image style that was undertaken in this piece of work.
This illustrator edges were smoothened out using
another lasso tool.
The image was coloured by using the pen tool
and eyedropper tool. Using the pen tool to select the
area, and then using the eyedropper tool to
colour in the select shape / area.
