Values of Early Childhood Education
Values of Early Childhood Education in the Public Schools System: It all begins long before first

Research Proposal The purpose of my proposed study is to analyze the values of early childhood
education in the public schools system. There are several things that I hope to accomplish by
conducting this research. This research will further illustrate how a sound foundation on certain skills
enhances the readiness for those students entering kindergarten. This research will also provide
possible solutions for kindergarten retention rates in the public schools system. I plan to investigate

In the speech and language section students need to ask meaning of words. This determines whether or
not the child will be involved in the learning process in a classroom setting. The student must describe
pictures and experiences. They must use appropriate verb tenses and grammar. This will ensure a core
of knowledge for the kindergarten curriculum. Also, the student must recognize simple jokes, riddles,
and absurdities. (Gisler and Eberts). The student s gross motor coordination should also be an
important factor in determining the child s readiness for kindergarten. They must be able to walk
downstairs using alternate feet, and hop on one foot; this is to check the child s balance and ability to
walk. They must jump along a six foot line with both feet. The student needs to be able to walk scissor
steps across a line. Last, but not least, student must be able to begin to skip alternating feet. These
evaluations are done in a few states nationwide. These evaluations do take place in certain districts in
the state of Mississippi and are administered by properly trained educators. This needs to become a
nationwide standard. (Williams) The next part of the evaluation should include fine motor
coordination including using scissors to cut a straight line. It seems like an easy task but as a
kindergarten teacher witnessing it first hand everyday; it is hard for students to complete this task.

The Causes and Treatments of Acute Renal Failure
According to Sushrut Waikar, Every year more than 1 million hospitalizations in the United States are
complicated by acute kidney injury, accounting for an estimated $10 billion in excess costs to the
healthcare system. Acute Renal failure is the inability of your kidneys to work properly. Your kidneys
lose the ability to remove waste, filter and balance fluid and electrolytes. This type of renal failure
happens most often when there is an injury or trauma and blood flow to kidneys is severely
compromised. A person can return back to normal after having acute renal failure, that is if you detect
the problem and treat it on time. There are three causes prerenal, intrarenal and postrenal. In prerenal
there is a sudden and drastic drop in blood pressure which can result in no blood flow to your kidneys
also dehydration can be a part of it as well. Intrarenal occurs when the damage being done is directly
to the kidneys. This can happen from the overuse of medications. Medications are not bad when used
correctly but when you overuse or don t use them correctly they can be very harmful to your kidneys.
Postrenal is when there is an obstruction in the urinary tract most often from renal calculi or an
enlarged prostate in men that blocks the flow of urine.
Diagnostic tests can be done to determine kidney function. The most important test to determine
kidney function would be BUN and creatinine. Normal BUN is 6 20 mg/dl, creatinine normal levels
are 0.6 1.2mg/dl. If kidneys begin

The Feminization Of Poverty And Poverty
Poverty has increasingly become a noticeable issue worldwide over the past couple of decades. With
the middle class steadily decreasing, considerable amounts of people are becoming part of the lower
class, and even more of our world s population are beginning to live in poverty. It is important to
understand there are different definitions of poverty, and that is largely determined by what each
country s government determines as the cut off of poverty, otherwise known as the poverty line .
Although some people could live above the poverty line, and still be struggling financially, it goes
unrecognized by most research collection. However, what was initially noticed around the 1970 s is
that there was a significant rise in women s poverty statistics. More female headed households were
living in poverty, and a majority of those women belonged to a minority. This recognizable trend has
been deemed the feminization of poverty , which according research is not only a growing problem in
North America, but several other countries around the world. Information gathered about this issue in
the United States shows that female headed households is by far the fastest growing type of family
structure, and due to the fact there is a growing poverty level amongst this group, it now means that
approximately half of the all the poor in the United States live in a women headed family and
household. (Gimenez, 1999, p. 336) The biggest question when is comes to this particular topic is
why?

Developments in the Cambridge Distributed Computing System
In recent years a lot of development resulted which have changed the use of computers and now many
people are using computers in routine life. Computing systems are now used in many ways.
Communications are also done through computers which are giving better results as compared with
ordinary methods through telephones and the like devices. Bandwidth and speed of communications
by using a computer system is improved which is increasing its demand with time.
The Cambridge Distributed Computing System has played an important role in improving the quality
of communications and opened a new way in which computing systems could be used for getting
better results. Research in this area started in around the year of 1975 and till now much ... Show more

Security in this system is increased which is providing many types of benefits and trust of users is also
increasing. This system is gaining popularity among users due to its fast speed and security. Until
1977 professionals at The Cambridge Distributed Computing System had installed computing and
made a lot of research for implementation of a new and advanced system in communications.
Mainly this system was made to increase sharing of data with security and great speed. This system
worked well and soon it was released to be used by all people. Until 1982 the work of The Cambridge
Distributed Computing System was spread to many people and many new users were introduced in
this system for sharing data at great speed and economy. The Cambridge Distributed Computing
System made by professionals is still used in the same manner as it was made in whole and it is able to
support users for providing connections and communications facilities by using computer systems.
Professionals are considering many suggestions from users so that the systems could be updated and
made more powerful and useful.
The Cambridge Distributed Computing System is not the work of a single person. Many professionals
have worked together and created this system which is regularly checked and updated when needed.

Orion Research Paper
The constellation I have chosen to write about is Orion. This is one of the most famous constellations
in the night sky. I chose this one because as I stated, it is very famous, and because it is one of those
constellations that I have seen many times. Orion is a hunter, so the constellation shows a man holding
a club and shield. It is easily recognized by the three stars in a line that form the hunter s belt. The
myth of Orion is an interesting one. Orion was known as a hunter in Greek mythology, and he boasted
that he could defeat and kill any animal on Earth. This greatly angered Gaea, the earth goddess, so she
sent a small scorpion to kill Orion. Unable to shoot his arrows through the scorpion s armor, he ran
into the sea to escape. During

Wrinkle In Time
In the book A Wrinkle in Time, written by Madeleine L Engle, a young girl goes on an adventure with
her little brother, her friend, and three magical creatures. The science fiction novel focuses on Meg
Murry, an awkward and impatient high school student, who sets off on an adventure to rescue her
missing father from a giant disembodied brain named IT. She is accompanied by her extraordinary
younger brother Charles Wallace, Calvin O Keefe, a popular and athletic boy that goes to her school,
and three celestial beings named Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. Three important elements
of the story are the characterization, setting, and theme.

Mrs. Whatsit loves me; that s what she told me, that she loves me, Suddenly she knew. She

and her mother s, and the real Charles Wallace s love, and the twins , and Aunt Beat s. And she had her

has that IT, the antagonist, doesn t. And it is that love that allows her to defeat IT and save Charles
Wallace. The gentle words, the feeling that this beast would be able to love her no matter what she
said or did, lapped Meg in warmth and peace. She felt a delicate touch of tentacle to her cheek, as
tender as her mother s kiss. (183) This shows that, no matter what Meg does, the beast, who Meg calls
Aunt Beast, will love her. This also shows the importance of unconditional love and loving despite

Summary Of The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Set apart from the parameters of normal human society, Benjamin Button, a man who was born to age
backwards, falls in love with a young girl, Daisy, who ages forwards. Benjamin s story is read aloud to
Daisy by Caroline, her daughter, as she lay on her deathbed. In scenes set with peculiar curiosity and
subtle fantasy, Benjamin embarks on an unusual journey to grasp the meaning of life and find his own
sense of identity. Benjamin and Daisy s paths cross many times before their unorthodox romance
reaches fate and picks up in the middle. As he grows younger and Daisy slows with age, Benjamin
discovers the rich futility of love as time causes the two to fall out of sync once again. Although its
final plot ends like any other love story, David Fincher s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is
arguably the next great cinematic breakthrough with its unique emotional paradoxes, ingenuitive
digital effects, and complex subplots. This movie was challenging to evaluate because never before
has a film combined subplot ingenuity so seamlessly with the delicate techniques of innovative film
making and traditional cinematic endings. One of the most relevant criteria of the film is the presence
of unique emotional paradoxes. The lead character Benjamin Button, actor Brad Pitt, faces many
unique emotional obstacles as he ages completely opposite of the world around him. When he is a
young boy, Button takes on the appearance of an eighty year old man in a wheelchair unable to walk.

Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome Essay
Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome that was the condition spat in my face as the doctor came in
to tell me what was wrong with my child. But don t worry! Corrective surgery can come to the rescue
and fix my child. Basically, my child doesn t have a place in the world unless they fit the norms, and
surgery is the only way to do so. Honestly? Fuck that. The surgery is completely unnecessary because
there aren t any serious medical implications, and would only cause further harm; raising my child
without a forced gender will allow for both freedom in gender development as well as avoiding the
trauma of incorrect gender assignment. These excruciatingly long past 24 hours since my baby was
born have been filled with doctors and nurses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All I remember is asking myself, Why? Why did this happen to my child? How could this possibly
happen? I snapped out of my trance as soon as I heard the word surgery. He recommended corrective
surgery to fix the baby s genitalia so that I could raise my child as a normal girl. In that moment, I
couldn t help all the questions spilling out of my mouth. How bad was the deformity? Is the surgery
obligatory? What are the potential repercussions of opting out of the surgery?
The surgery makes it easier for your child to identify as either a boy or a girl because as of right now,
it s neither. That was it. The only real reason my child needed surgery was because of an arbitrary
cosmetic requirement for classifying genders. I was speechless, livid, and borderline aggressive. I told
the doctor I needed to sleep and that I d think about it the next morning, but truth of the matter is that
my constant worrying is keeping me up all night. I did manage to get a few hours of sleep last night.
Broken and unrestful, but sleep nonetheless. The first thing I did this morning was research the
condition that my baby was diagnosed with. I discovered that because of defects in the androgen
receptor... the external genitalia of the affected XY individual are typically ambiguous at birth and the
direction of sex assignment of individuals with PAIS depends to some extent on the appearance of the
external genitalia (Hines, 2004). I also learned that the fetus at one point was

Green Champion Paper
Brewing of a Sustainable Idea
In the current day and age, environmental issues are beginning to be considered more frequently in
business decision and in governmental policy. The current threat of global warming, sea level rise,
ocean acidification, and extinction of species highlight the consequences of not being environmentally
aware. Even the smallest green decisions like choosing to car pool or to recycle can be decisions that
have a huge impact that positively effects the environment. These decisions can have far reaching
implications. For instance, someone who witnesses these green decisions may be inspired to make
environmentally conscious decisions as well. Much in the same way people could be inspired,
businesses can be inspired as well. Creating a sustainability initiative in a business can be extremely
positive and rewarding. For this reason, I think it is vital that the local beer brewing company, COOP
Ale Works, adopt a sustainability program. Many breweries have adopt sustainable framework, two
such examples are New Belgium Brewing and Sierra Nevada. I believe by implementing some of
these ideals into their brewing process COOP can inspire other businesses to become more
sustainable. In this paper I will mention the current problems with the brewing process, highlight the
changes that can be made based off of current implementation at breweries, and present a four point

House Of Usher Gothic
Chapter 1
Introduction to The Fall of the House of Usher
Edgar Allan Poe was one of the seminal American poets and short story writers of the 19th century.
Edgar Allan Poe also worked as a literary critic and editor. In his lifetime, he had the distinction of
being one of the first American writers with more cultural cache in Europe than in the United States.
Edgar Allan Poe studied languages at the University of Virginia and United States Military Academy
at West Point; however, he withdrew or was dismissed from these institutions before taking a degree
(although at West Point he achieved the rank of cadet.)
The writing of Edgar Allan Poe has influenced diverse writers and thinkers including Charles

Poe provides the recognizable building blocks of the Gothic tale, he contrasts this standard form with
a plot that is inexplicable, sudden, and full of unexpected disruptions. The crossing of borders pertains
vitally to the Gothic horror of the tale. The story features numerous allusions to other works of
literature, including the poems The Haunted Palace and Mad Trist by Sir Launcelot Cnning. Poe
composed them himself and then fictitiously attributed them to other sources. Both poems parallel and
thus predict the plot line of The Fall of the House of Usher. Mad Trist, which is about the forceful
entrance of Elthelred into the dwelling of a hermit, mirrors the simultaneous escape of Madeline from
her tomb. Mad Twist spookily crosses literary borders , as though Roderick s obsession with these
poems ushers their narratives into his own domain and brings them to life. At the opposite end of this
phantasmal interpretation is the modern day psychological view of this novel. The hardest thing to do

According to the Thinking Strategically simulation, Strategy, in business, is the combination of
foresight, planning, and decision making that prepares an enterprise to achieve long term goals and
manage the consequences of contemporary decisions. A lesson learned was that one needs to properly

previous strategy, Oz learned the firm ranked fourth in the US toy industry added an online toys
channel that may boost them ahead. After the aggressive move, the industry was in rapid growth and
now held a weak competitive position because there currently is not an online toy channel. The
strategy was to start an online sales channel and acquire a digital toys and game company. This will
allow Oz to maintain their competitive position within the industry. The next decision Oz faces is what
to do about one of their more popular toys, Buggs. It has been determined the toy has small parts that
have choked little children. This story has pushed Oz to quadrant III, a weak competitive position and
slow market growth. The next move would be to sell a portion of the retail chain assets, and continue
to focus on current product lines. This strategy will allow Oz to regain their competitive position they
lost when it was discovered Buggs was hazardous. The final decision facing Oz was how to maintain a
strong competitive position in a slowing market. This puts Oz in quadrant IV of the Grand Strategy
Clusters matrix. In order for Oz to maintain their competitive position, the proper strategy to

Part 2 Current types of Financial Fraud
A) Internal Fraud
Internal fraud consists in a type of fraud that is committed by an individual against an organization.
[Furthermore], a perpetrator of fraud engages in activities that are designed to defraud, misappropriate
property, or circumvent the regulations, law, or policies of a company [8]. Not only has the incidence
of internal fraud increased in frequency because of the availability of sensitive information such as
client details or confidential business documents; moreover, this type of fraud is found in various
types of organizations, ranging from corporations, public service institutions and financial institutions.
Our analysis will concentrate on the most common and prolific types of internal fraud, namely identity
theft, insider trading, loan fraud and wire fraud. Interestingly, PriceWaterhouseCooper conducted a
survey that revealed that the demographics of a typical fraudster are as follows: males (85% of cases),
31 50 years (72% of cases), reached high school level (50%), Bachelor s or post graduate degree
(50%) and middle or senior management (52%) [9].

Moral Education and Emotional Lying Essay
Moral Education and Emotional Lying
There is a long tradition, fathered by Aristotle and recurring like some recessive gene in recent virtue
theorists, that holds that the emotions, like acts, must be trained . Consider the following:
[In Beckett s portrayal,] Emotions are not feelings that well up in some natural and untutored way
from our natural selves, that they are, in fact, not personal or natural at all, that they are, instead,
contrivances, social constructs. We learn how to feel, and we learn our emotional repertoire. We learn
emotions in the same way that we learn our beliefs from our society. (Nussbaum 1990, p287)
Emotions, in Aristotle s view, are not always correct, any more than beliefs or actions are ... Show

The problem arises, however, when we consider two agents: Agent X acts in accordance with social
demands, or, does not act (also in accordance with social demands) while considering this merely a
means to ensure such social harmony as he can get. Agent Y exhibits or does not exhibit emotions also
in accordance with social demands, while considering this also merely a means to ensure social
harmony. Neither Agent X nor Agent Y believe in what they are doing, in any sense deeper than the
wish to conform to reasonable social demands.
We can portray this situation as follows:
Agent CA conforms with respect to acting.
Agent CE conforms with respect to emoting .
Agent BA believes in his acts.
Agent BE believes in his emotions
Are Agents CA and CE not on equal footing with agents BA and BE as regards ethics, for better or
worse?
Apparently not. There is widespread dislike of Agent CE as a hypocrite, an accusation rarely hurled
against Agents CA, BA, or BE. Even Williams (1973, p224) states that simulating emotions one does
not feel could be misleading, even deceitful .
Agent CE is in a bind: if he responds as society dictates, he is a hypocrite; and if he does not, he is a
misfit or (in extreme situations) a psychopath . Agent CE has been trained in the sense that he knows
what is expected of him, and does it; and his motives are those of prudence. However,

The story takes place when Fulghum, the author, is left to babysit eighty children seven to ten years
old, in the church social hall. He decides to organize a game called Giants, Wizards, and Dwarfs to

reached its climax, Fulghum yelled at the children to decide whether they were a giant, wizard, or

Fulghum, Where do the Mermaids stand? In shock of the girl s response, Fulghum took a long pause

Yuraba Motherhood
In her article Is Female to Male as Nature is to Culture, anthropologist, Sherry Ortner claims that
woman is being identified with [. . .] something that every culture devalues [. . .] and that is nature
(10). I would like to extend Ortner s argument and claim that Spirited Away also associates working
motherhood with nature, thus devaluing Yubaba s role as a working mother in Japanese society. We
can see this devaluation from the very beginning when Chihiro and her family drive into the forest that
hides the bathhouse. Since Yubaba lives and works in the bathhouse, the forest also removes her from
society and hides her lifestyle. The remoteness of the forest and hiding depicts her lifestyle as a

In the film, we see Yubaba adores Bo through her immediate change in tone of voice from rasping to
cheerful when she speaks to him. Furthermore, she rushes immediately to comfort him when he cries
and when she realizes he has gone missing, Yubaba s torment is depicted through her breathing fire
out of her mouth. Yubaba s fire breathing depiction emphasizes Yubaba s overprotectiveness of Bo,
showing her strong valuing of his presence. However, this strong valuing of Bo s presence shows Bo
is being used (Hatcher, 122). Because society strongly associates the female identity with being caring
and nurturing (Ueno, 15), Yubaba loses part of her identity when Bo is taken from her she loses the
person who depends on her the most and who gives her life purpose. Thus, we can see why she cares
about him so much and goes through great extents to protect him, like covering Bo s room with an
immense amount of pillows and padding. Yubaba also prevents Bo from going out, which we find out
when Bo accuses Chihiro of trying to make him sick: You came in here to make me sick [. . .] you ll

The History Of Interracial Marriage
Social norms have long been dictated by racism. Prior to the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court Case
in 1967, it was socially acceptable for certain states to dictate which race of people one could marry
from. For example, in many southern states, it was illegal for a white man to marry a black woman. It
was not until the Loving v. Virginia case reached the Supreme Court in 1966 that the constitutionality
of these laws was considered. The Loving v. Virginia case erupted when Richard and Mildred Loving
were arrested when they returned to their house in Caroline County, Virginia after traveling to
Washington D.C. to get married (Newbeck and Wolfe). Prior to the Supreme Court ruling that laws
preventing interracial marriage were unconstitutional, interracial marriages were extremely rare.
However, after this ruling was made, the popularity of interracial marriages began to slowly climb.
Sadly, despite the increase in popularity, social acceptance of these marriages had not increased until
the last twenty years (Rosentiel).
According to PEW Research, a notorious research company based in Washington D.C., interracial
couples are becoming more widely accepted than they were in 1967. Today, Nearly four in ten adults
say...people marrying someone of a different race is good for society. (Bailik). Although this statistic
may seem low, it is important to remember that the remaining people are not necessarily against
interracial marriage. In fact, Americans today are also less likely to

The Tragedy Of King Lear
The Tragedy of King Lear: William Shakespeare, a playwright of the 1600 s, has been well known for
writing many plays and poems. His play titled The Tragedy of King Lear is remembered globally and
is learned in many schools today. A continuous theme in King Lear is a disguise, which consists of
many different forms. There are physical, manipulative, and figurative disguises. In the beginning of
the play, characters already fall into this category. In the first act, King Lear is at old age and begins to
think irrationally and illogically. He wishes to live the rest of his life in tranquility, deprived of any
further responsibilities of ruling the kingdom. Deciding to distribute his kingdom between his three
daughters, King Lear challenges them to a game of flattery. This leads to Cordelia, his youngest and
most beloved daughter being disowned and Kent, his trusted advisor and good friend banished from
the kingdom. The Earl of Gloucester is left baffled and discusses it with his illegitimate son, Edmund,
who hands his father a forged letter. Edmund frames his legitimate brother, Edgar, with this letter
speaking of him wishing for his father s death. In the second act Regan, Lear s daughter, visits
Gloucester with her husband Cornwall, after hearing rumors. Edmund uses this as a ploy for him to
get rid of his brother. King Lear in rage leaves Goneril s house and goes to Regan who isn t home. He
then visits Gloucester only to find his daughter there. After a series of

There were 26 police reports filed involving the deceased, Ethan Cook and his younger brother, all

Two of the reports, however, stand out.
January 30, 2010 LB Police officers responded to a family disturbance call at Mr. Cook s residence.
Upon entering the residence, I saw the father, Kenneth C., pinning his son, Ethan Cook, a 13 year old

On this occasion, the officer never questioned Ethan Cook independently to determine if the case

Why Do People Join Organized Religion
Question 1
I honestly think that people, in general, want to feel a sense of belonging and that there is something
greater than themselves guiding us through our day to day lives. In many instances, people believe in a
God/Entity because it is a part of their culture and is held in high regard. Both in years past to present
religion has played a major role in the way we as people view ourselves and each other. An example
of why people join an organized religion would be for the purpose of social status. An example of that
I would say is Scientology. From the outside looking in it really looks like this group is particularly
seeking out the rich and famous to join the church. There are Scientology churches that are
specifically for their rich and famous members to attend. Yet the less fortunate members are treated
with less grandeur. That really seems like it s all about the status/money the church gains from its
members and the status the members gain by joining this church. I bring this up because the original
idea of joining a religion was to worship the most high and to learn to live by the rules set forth for its
follower. The majority of believers are believers because the religion was handed down to them and
they genuinely feel that the belief and practices are right for them and their families. Some individuals
would say what is church or religion itself, isn t it all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Clinical Trial Essay
Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new
treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational models.
The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design of clinical
trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts Center for the
Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug development which is one
of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558 billion, with a 145% increase
over an estimate made in 2003 [9].
2. Clinical trial classification
Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different
interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also
called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by methods
that are not random. These trials are used when randomization is impractical and/or unethical. They
are typically easier to set up than randomized trials which need random assignment of subjects. Lack

In the simplest case, a 2x2 factorial trial design generates four sets of data to analyze based on whether
subjects receive interventions A only, B only, both A and B, or neither A or B. Thus, the factorial
designs can evaluate not only the effects of each intervention but also the interaction that may exist
between two interventions (or treatments). For this reason, this trial design can be viewed as an
efficient way to conduct two trials in one. However, it is not recommended when comparing the two
interventions to each other is considered as a primary purpose

Web GPS Track can become expensive depending on the number of units needed for a given agency.
The cost includes a onetime purchase fee of the World Tracker unit which is $350 each. An additional

monthly service fee of 19.98 per unit, a onetime SIM card fee ranging between $25 and $ 50, and any

it can prove beneficial when proper records are needed, and it may save an agency from facing a large

Viola in The Twelfth Night
Who is Viola? Who REALLY is Viola? Viola is a very cunning, smart, and interesting character. This
is shown in Shakespeare s The Twelfth Night, this book is about three different lovers. The Duke loves
Olivia, Olivia loves Cesario/Viola, and Cesario/Viola loves the Duke. Viola is trying to set up a new
life after surviving a shipwreck in which her brother died. Viola is a cunning lady with lots of attitude.
Viola influences almost every other character as well. She unintentionally tricks both the Duke and
Olivia, she confuses Antonia, who believes she is Sebastian (her brother), and she confuses her
brother, Sebastian, who believed that she was dead. Viola is someone we can all learn from.
In Shakespeare s The Twelfth Night, Viola is very much like a spy. She knew secret information of all
three people (the Duke, Olivia, and herself) in the love triangle. I have been lead to this conclusion
because of both her knowledge of secrets, and by how she relayed information to and from the Duke.
Many quotes showed her secret knowledge, for example, in act 2 scene 3 My master loves her dearly;
And I, poor monster, fond as much on him; And she, mistaken, seems to dote on me. (Lines 15 40)
Viola knew of the pickle of love everyone was in before anyone else figured it out. Also, in act 2 scene
4 (Lines 117 125) Viola said But let concealment, like worm i the bud, Feed on her damask cheek; In
this part of the book, Viola is like a spy because she knows both how men and how women

Psychodynamic Theories And Discusses Key Elements Of...
Behaviourist Theories
This essay examines behaviourist theories and discusses key elements of classical and operant
conditioning. It considers a variety of psychological theorists and profoundly explores their research.
Behaviourism refers to a psychological approach which explains human development in terms of how
they learn from experience rather than a result of inborn tendencies or higher order thinking. Learning
from experience moulds and shapes behaviour and personality. (A2Healthandsocialcarepg84) The
behaviourist movement began in 1913 when John Watson wrote the article Psychology as the
behaviourist views it. Other psychologists such as, Pavlov, Thorndike and Skinner also worked to
develop behavioural theories of learning. (A2Healthandsocialcarepg84) They focused their
explanations solely on behaviour, concerning what people do rather than what may or may not be
going on in their minds. Behaviourists suggest that all behaviour is learned either through classical or
operant conditioning. (PsychologyASpg.50)
Thorndike s research offered valuable insights into conditioning. He studied the way animals learn by
observing their responses in controlled conditions. He noticed that animals would often learn by trial
and error. For example, a hungry cat would experiment with ways of escaping from a cage to receive a
reward of food. When the cat discovered actions that helped it escape, it would remember them.
Thorndike believed any action that produced a good effect

Company Infrastructure
Abstract
There are certain benefits in having a well set up and thought out infrastructure within a company.
However when setting up an infrastructure or changing an existing infrastructure there are a number of
things a company should conceder in order to end up with the infrastructure that best works for them
and their company.
Business infrastructures usually consist of booth LAN and WAN area networks. Businesses will use a
LAN to connect network devices over a short distance, such as an office building or school.
Occasionally one building will contain a few small LANs, and sometimes a LAN will span a group of
nearby buildings. LANs are usually owned, controlled, and managed by a single person or ... Show

WAN networks basically connect two or more LAN networks (Woodcock, 1999). There for a
company can benefit from using a WAN network when they have offices in different cities, states, or
countries. It is important for a business to understand how they plan on using LAN and WAN
networks when designing an infrastructure that will work best for them. A business infrastructure is
generally made up of the processes, procedures, and systems within a company. And if a company is
to maintain a competitive edge and stay a step or two ahead of its competitors, it will need to have and
maintain a solid infrastructure. When a company has a solid infrastructure they are more likely to see
an ongoing improvement with the efficiency of their employees (Hughes Kaplan, 2009). This is
because a solid infrastructure allows employees to better communicate and work more effectively. In
order for a company to create or build an infrastructure that will work best for them, there are a few
things in which they should address. One thing they should do is to consult with outside resources and
customers as well as employees in order to determine what type of infrastructure will best address
their company s needs. The company should be sure to define how they would like the infrastructure
to help them in achieving their goals. Find out what it is that their customers need from the business
infrastructure, along with what their employees and management will need for the

Examples Of Conformity In 1984
The sociological behavior associated with conformity in groups is a concept that directly affects us as
human beings, it s in our very nature to be a part of a group and we are encouraged to not stand alone
even if that means ignoring moral awareness. In these two dystopian novels and even as some would
say in our modern society, large powerful entities that have the authority to control people s lives will
relentlessly play on the inescapable human instinct of conformity. In 1984, the citizens of Oceania
were prohibited from having any type of sexual relations, they even had the anti sex league, so here
we have a government entity limiting the primal human instinct of reproduction. This relentless
censorship of sexuality is what lead winston to say to Julia before their first encounter, i don t want to
be pure, i want everything to be impure in the world. He s not saying he wants to be a bad member of
society, he s saying the definition of purity that the party has fabricated sickens him and he would
much rather do all the things the party doesn t want him to do. He and Julia are almost proud to
oppose the party because they have enough of an objective viewpoint that they can see why societies
normal flow is wrong. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However in brave new world they are genetically engineered people created to serve a dominating
entity, so any indoctrination or opposition to conformity is a fundamental change to their life, their
belief system and who they are as a person. By the end of the book the main character is so confused
and frustrated about his sexuality and the world he lives in that he actually flogs himself, and believes
he has to physically feel pain just to oppose the societal standard. Now these instances from these

Analysis Of El Greco Made Me
At first while looking at the artworks it is actually not possible to figure out that the artist himself
might be representing him in his piece. But after reading the notes and knowing that the artist is also a
part in the image does enhances the two works of art. For the first image of The Burial of Count Orgaz
by El Greco, he did not include his portrait in the artwork, Instead, he included an image of his son.
On his son s handkerchief, he wrote, El Greco made me . That indicates how El Greco will live on
through this painting and through his son. But he is not done here yet, placed against the saint is one
of the El Greco s landscape paintings. Such portraits do enhance the artwork a lot. In the second image
of Las Menians by Velazquez is different from the previous one as the artist is prominently found in
this artwork. Left side of the image is dominated by the back of the artists and right side by the
figures. The figures including young princess, the king, and the Queen. The princess is all dressed up
for her portrait session with Velazquez. However, in the close up picture, I can see the artist seems
very bored by being there. As if he just wants to finish the portrait and leave. He has this unpleasant
face that according to me does enhance the artwork and makes in more interesting. He is like the focal
point of the piece to set the artwork unique beside others.

We Needs Energy For A Successful Existence Essay
Introduction
The humanity needs energy for a successful existence. However, the amount of fossil fuel is
decreasing every day. Proved global reserves of oil and gas, at current rates of consumption, would be
adequate to meet demand for another 40 and 60 years, respectively. Moreover, using of traditional
sources of energy causes the greenhouse gases emission. These gases keep heat energy of
electromagnetic waves at lower atmosphere. The process that produces this difference between the
actual surface temperature and the effective temperature is due to the atmosphere and is known as the
greenhouse effect.
One of the main consumers of fossil fuel and source of the greenhouse gases is buildings. The solution
of this problem is upgrade our houses; make them smarter, environmentally friendly and effective.
Moreover, the smart homes will have many devices, which will replace the big part of routine tasks,
and life of people will be much easier. (Stephene S. Intille, 2006). Governments support the building
of eco buildings, because they emit less carbon dioxide. For example, in the UK it planned to reduce
emissions by 2050 (DECC 2011, 30). Moreover, building of eco houses will improve IT and
alternative energy technologies. This paper will argue that building of eco houses is the best way of
future architecture and building technologies.

people. Second criteria is the degree of

Compare And Contrast The Cost Of Blockbuster Movies
How much does it cost to make a blockbuster movie? It takes a lot of work and money to make
movies. A film has to go through three stages of preproduction, production and post production in
order to create that film. There are many similarities from the studio system and the independent
system but today majority of the films are established with a combination of independents and the
major studios. Movies start in the preproduction phase where they began the process and start to try to
secure financing for their project. Sometimes producers have enough money to begin their project. If
they don t have any start up money to begin, they will have to try and market their ideas of projection

Typically, the highest costs in films are for the cast and the industry has gotten creative to finding

percentage of the profits goes to them. Some examples of the costs of a movie are: Story, director,

The Main Collective Theory Of Functionalist Theories Essay
The main collective theme in functionalist theories is the ability to look at society as a whole, rather
than making judgements on purely an individual s actions and the motives behind them. In
continuation, firm believers of the ideology that everything in society has a purpose and a designated
role in order for the collective society, to work cohesively and function. The explanation for this
comes from Durkheim, a sociologist who placed importance in consensus to achieve the need for
social order. These concepts can be defined as people within a society, who have a tendency to be
selfish, but by having various institutions within society, they are able to obtain social order pass on
norms, values and morals. Crime can be functional when the rates are low, but dysfunctional to society
when the rates are too high. Furthermore he believed that crime was inevitable in society, because
crime and deviance is the product of a lack of attachment to the prevailing values that were shared
among a collective society. Durkheim widely argued that people were all individuals with different
experiences, so consequently not everyone will inevitably share the same values. Without these shared
norms and values being passed on the prospect of social order cannot be obtained as there will not be a
collective conformity towards them and which is therefore enforced by various institutions and
structures. For example, if a child comes from a working class family or one which does not follow

Lynching
[Author Name(s), First M. Last, Omit Titles and Degrees]
[Institutional Affiliation(s)]
Abstract
The United States has an unbelievable history of domestic violence. It is a detrimental part of our
nation history that has been ignored and down played for many years. There are several instances of
American violence, however I will focus on the heinous acts of violence committed against African
American citizens by white people. Throughout history white people remained dominate over
minorities by way of intimidation, slavery and even violence. I feel that lynching was one of the many
ways whites maintain control and kept blacks suppressed. I will discuss the different aspects of
lynching. Lynching can be legal as well as illegal.

The Code Of Conduct Set By The International Gymnastics...
A score of 10.00 for a single routine is under the code of conduct set by the International Gymnastics
Federation (FIG). It was originally thought to be unattainable, until 1976; when Nadia Comaneci
scored the first ever perfect ten. There have been a few perfect scores after Comaneci, like the first
male to score 10.00, Alexander Dityatin in 1980. The last two perfect tens that were given were in
Barcelona in 1992. Between 1976 and 1992, lots of 10.00 were given out; making a perfect ten lose its
meaning. In the years following, the skills got harder, the equipment changed and the code of points
changed, making a perfect ten physically impossible. If one were to watch Nadia Comaneci s bar
routine and compare it to Gabby Douglas bar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women s uneven bars evolved from the men s parallel bars, which were originally fixed wooden
rails set in the ground. Today both use flexible, adjustable rails that absorb shock and provide bounce
for the gymnasts. Finally the balance beam was a long, narrow block of wood, mostly because
routines focused more on the dance than the tumbling. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci introduced
powerful tumbling in the 1970s, thus the beams had to change to increase safety. Now beams are
padded with rounded, cushioning material to absorb shock of tumbling and jumping gymnasts. Grips
help to grip the bar, and reduce the friction between the bar and the gymnast s hand. This helps to
reduce the number of rips, which helps the gymnast perform more skills in less pain. Throughout the
years the Code of Points has been changed by the International Gymnastics Federation. A new scoring
system was introduced in 2006. It consists of an A score, based on the difficulty of elements, and a B
score, based on artistic impression. The way to max out your A score is to cram the toughest possible
moves into your routine and pack them as tightly together as you can manage. While the B score starts
from 10, and points are taken off for mistakes such as flexed feet or bent knees. And the two scores are
put together to create the final score. By doing this it has eliminated the perfect 10, as athletes can go
over a 10.00 score. Gymnasts

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
I C ENGINE is an engine, where the combustion of fuel ( in general fossil fuel ) occurs with an
oxidizer ( usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow
circuit.
In an I C ENGINE, the expansion of the high pressure and high pressure gases produced by
combustion apply direct force to some component of engine.
I C ENGINES include spark ignition(SI) engines using petrol as a fossil fuel, and compression
ignition (CI) engines ( usually referred to as disesel engines) using fuel oil, etc as a fuel.
PROCESSES ( in sequence ) in these engines:
# compression
# combustion
# expansion
# induction / exhaust
Two basic mechanical disigns to achieve these four processes in either:
FOUR STROKES of the piston hence the four stroke engine, or
TWO STROKES of the piston hence the two stroke engine.
THE MAIN TYPES OF IC ENGINE ARE:
F NORMALLY VARIES WITH CYLINDER VOLUME: Thus the fundamental output of a
reciprocating internal combustion engine can be considered to be torque it is theoretically produced
even when engine speed ( RPM ) is zero.
THE TORQUE FLUCTUATIONS ARE SMOOTHED OUT BY: Multi cylinder arrangement The use
of a flywheel

Outsider Outsiders
I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for
freedom in the history of our nation (Martin Luther King). GETTYSBURG ADDRESS (19
NOVEMBER 1863) [1] Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a
new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal (
Abraham Lincoln). We meet at a time of tension between the United States and Muslims around the
world tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate (Barack Obama).
All of these are the starting point of great changes. These famous historical figures are considered
Outsiders The Term Outsider Literally means One who does not belong to a particular group.
Perception is the main key in deciding if someone belongs when they are an outsider. If you look at it
from one group they don t belong and from another they do. One of the most famous outsiders in
history is Martin Luther King. He was considered this because he decided to take a stance against
what s normal and average. He wanted to have equal rights for both African Americans and
Caucasians. By doing this he was considered an outsider by all people. They either stood with him or
against him during his outside revolution. Although he did not like to be considered an outsider as
shown by this quote Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Anyone who lives in the US can
never be considered an outsider anywhere in the country He was an outsider by trying to make no one
feel like an outsider themselves. So throughput this he didn t belong to the groups trying not to allow
equal rights. But to the people, he stood up with he was a leader and belonged to their group, therefore
even if you don t feel like you belong with the group you re in, you have a network. The next outsider
is Our famous 16th president Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was considered the rail splitting candidates
throughout his campaign and presidency. He was born and raised from working class roots. This set
him apart from his opposing candidate William H. Seward (who was the former governor of New
York and a sitting Senator. Seward came from a high class family, born and

Values of Early Childhood Education Values of Early Childhood Education in the Public Schools System: It all begins long before first grade Presented by: Ashley Austin April 14, 2009 EDFL 568 Jackson State University Research Proposal The purpose of my proposed study is to analyze the values of early childhood education in the public schools system. There are several things that I hope to accomplish by conducting this research. This research will further illustrate how a sound foundation on certain skills enhances the readiness for those students entering kindergarten. This research will also provide possible solutions for kindergarten retention rates in the public schools system. I plan to investigate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the speech and language section students need to ask meaning of words. This determines whether or not the child will be involved in the learning process in a classroom setting. The student must describe pictures and experiences. They must use appropriate verb tenses and grammar. This will ensure a core of knowledge for the kindergarten curriculum. Also, the student must recognize simple jokes, riddles, and absurdities. (Gisler and Eberts). The student s gross motor coordination should also be an important factor in determining the child s readiness for kindergarten. They must be able to walk downstairs using alternate feet, and hop on one foot; this is to check the child s balance and ability to walk. They must jump along a six foot line with both feet. The student needs to be able to walk scissor steps across a line. Last, but not least, student must be able to begin to skip alternating feet. These evaluations are done in a few states nationwide. These evaluations do take place in certain districts in the state of Mississippi and are administered by properly trained educators. This needs to become a nationwide standard. (Williams) The next part of the evaluation should include fine motor coordination including using scissors to cut a straight line. It seems like an easy task but as a kindergarten teacher witnessing it first hand everyday; it is hard for students to complete this task. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Causes and Treatments of Acute Renal Failure According to Sushrut Waikar, Every year more than 1 million hospitalizations in the United States are complicated by acute kidney injury, accounting for an estimated $10 billion in excess costs to the healthcare system. Acute Renal failure is the inability of your kidneys to work properly. Your kidneys lose the ability to remove waste, filter and balance fluid and electrolytes. This type of renal failure happens most often when there is an injury or trauma and blood flow to kidneys is severely compromised. A person can return back to normal after having acute renal failure, that is if you detect the problem and treat it on time. There are three causes prerenal, intrarenal and postrenal. In prerenal there is a sudden and drastic drop in blood pressure which can result in no blood flow to your kidneys also dehydration can be a part of it as well. Intrarenal occurs when the damage being done is directly to the kidneys. This can happen from the overuse of medications. Medications are not bad when used correctly but when you overuse or don t use them correctly they can be very harmful to your kidneys. Postrenal is when there is an obstruction in the urinary tract most often from renal calculi or an enlarged prostate in men that blocks the flow of urine. Diagnostic tests can be done to determine kidney function. The most important test to determine kidney function would be BUN and creatinine. Normal BUN is 6 20 mg/dl, creatinine normal levels are 0.6 1.2mg/dl. If kidneys begin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Feminization Of Poverty And Poverty Poverty has increasingly become a noticeable issue worldwide over the past couple of decades. With the middle class steadily decreasing, considerable amounts of people are becoming part of the lower class, and even more of our world s population are beginning to live in poverty. It is important to understand there are different definitions of poverty, and that is largely determined by what each country s government determines as the cut off of poverty, otherwise known as the poverty line . Although some people could live above the poverty line, and still be struggling financially, it goes unrecognized by most research collection. However, what was initially noticed around the 1970 s is that there was a significant rise in women s poverty statistics. More female headed households were living in poverty, and a majority of those women belonged to a minority. This recognizable trend has been deemed the feminization of poverty , which according research is not only a growing problem in North America, but several other countries around the world. Information gathered about this issue in the United States shows that female headed households is by far the fastest growing type of family structure, and due to the fact there is a growing poverty level amongst this group, it now means that approximately half of the all the poor in the United States live in a women headed family and household. I chose this one because as I stated, it is very famous, and because it is one of those constellations that I have seen many times. Orion is a hunter, so the constellation shows a man holding a club and shield. It is easily recognized by the three stars in a line that form the hunter s belt. The myth of Orion is an interesting one. Orion was known as a hunter in Greek mythology, and he boasted that he could defeat and kill any animal on Earth. This greatly angered Gaea, the earth goddess, so she sent a small scorpion to kill Orion. Unable to shoot his arrows through the scorpion s armor, he ran into the sea to escape. During ... • 8. Summary Of The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Set apart from the parameters of normal human society, Benjamin Button, a man who was born to age backwards, falls in love with a young girl, Daisy, who ages forwards. Benjamin s story is read aloud to Daisy by Caroline, her daughter, as she lay on her deathbed. In scenes set with peculiar curiosity and subtle fantasy, Benjamin embarks on an unusual journey to grasp the meaning of life and find his own sense of identity. Benjamin and Daisy s paths cross many times before their unorthodox romance reaches fate and picks up in the middle. As he grows younger and Daisy slows with age, Benjamin discovers the rich futility of love as time causes the two to fall out of sync once again. Although its final plot ends like any other love story, David Fincher s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is arguably the next great cinematic breakthrough with its unique emotional paradoxes, ingenuitive digital effects, and complex subplots. This movie was challenging to evaluate because never before has a film combined subplot ingenuity so seamlessly with the delicate techniques of innovative film making and traditional cinematic endings. One of the most relevant criteria of the film is the presence of unique emotional paradoxes. The lead character Benjamin Button, actor Brad Pitt, faces many unique emotional obstacles as he ages completely opposite of the world around him. How bad was the deformity? Is the surgery obligatory? What are the potential repercussions of opting out of the surgery? The surgery makes it easier for your child to identify as either a boy or a girl because as of right now, it s neither. That was it. The only real reason my child needed surgery was because of an arbitrary cosmetic requirement for classifying genders. I was speechless, livid, and borderline aggressive. The current threat of global warming, sea level rise, ocean acidification, and extinction of species highlight the consequences of not being environmentally aware. Even the smallest green decisions like choosing to car pool or to recycle can be decisions that have a huge impact that positively effects the environment. These decisions can have far reaching implications. For instance, someone who witnesses these green decisions may be inspired to make environmentally conscious decisions as well. Much in the same way people could be inspired, businesses can be inspired as well. Creating a sustainability initiative in a business can be extremely positive and rewarding. For this reason, I think it is vital that the local beer brewing company, COOP Ale Works, adopt a sustainability program. Many breweries have adopt sustainable framework, two such examples are New Belgium Brewing and Sierra Nevada. Poe provides the recognizable building blocks of the Gothic tale, he contrasts this standard form with a plot that is inexplicable, sudden, and full of unexpected disruptions. The crossing of borders pertains vitally to the Gothic horror of the tale. The story features numerous allusions to other works of literature, including the poems The Haunted Palace and Mad Trist by Sir Launcelot Cnning. Poe composed them himself and then fictitiously attributed them to other sources. Both poems parallel and thus predict the plot line of The Fall of the House of Usher. Mad Trist, which is about the forceful entrance of Elthelred into the dwelling of a hermit, mirrors the simultaneous escape of Madeline from her tomb. Mad Twist spookily crosses literary borders , as though Roderick s obsession with these poems ushers their narratives into his own domain and brings them to life. Moral Education and Emotional Lying Essay Moral Education and Emotional Lying There is a long tradition, fathered by Aristotle and recurring like some recessive gene in recent virtue theorists, that holds that the emotions, like acts, must be trained . Consider the following: [In Beckett s portrayal,] Emotions are not feelings that well up in some natural and untutored way from our natural selves, that they are, in fact, not personal or natural at all, that they are, instead, contrivances, social constructs. We learn how to feel, and we learn our emotional repertoire. We learn emotions in the same way that we learn our beliefs from our society. Neither Agent X nor Agent Y believe in what they are doing, in any sense deeper than the wish to conform to reasonable social demands. We can portray this situation as follows: Agent CA conforms with respect to acting. Agent CE conforms with respect to emoting . Agent BA believes in his acts. Agent BE believes in his emotions Are Agents CA and CE not on equal footing with agents BA and BE as regards ethics, for better or worse? Apparently not. There is widespread dislike of Agent CE as a hypocrite, an accusation rarely hurled against Agents CA, BA, or BE. Even Williams (1973, p224) states that simulating emotions one does not feel could be misleading, even deceitful . Agent CE is in a bind: if he responds as society dictates, he is a hypocrite; and if he does not, he is a misfit or (in extreme situations) a psychopath . Agent CE has been trained in the sense that he knows what is expected of him, and does it; and his motives are those of prudence. However,

Yubaba s fire breathing depiction emphasizes Yubaba s overprotectiveness of Bo, showing her strong valuing of his presence. However, this strong valuing of Bo s presence shows Bo is being used (Hatcher, 122). Because society strongly associates the female identity with being caring and nurturing (Ueno, 15), Yubaba loses part of her identity when Bo is taken from her she loses the person who depends on her the most and who gives her life purpose. Virginia Supreme Court Case in 1967, it was socially acceptable for certain states to dictate which race of people one could marry from. For example, in many southern states, it was illegal for a white man to marry a black woman. It was not until the Loving v. Virginia case reached the Supreme Court in 1966 that the constitutionality of these laws was considered. The Loving v. Virginia case erupted when Richard and Mildred Loving were arrested when they returned to their house in Caroline County, Virginia after traveling to Washington D.C. to get married (Newbeck and Wolfe). Prior to the Supreme Court ruling that laws preventing interracial marriage were unconstitutional, interracial marriages were extremely rare. However, after this ruling was made, the popularity of interracial marriages began to slowly climb. Sadly, despite the increase in popularity, social acceptance of these marriages had not increased until the last twenty years (Rosentiel). According to PEW Research, a notorious research company based in Washington D.C., interracial couples are becoming more widely accepted than they were in 1967. Today, Nearly four in ten adults say...people marrying someone of a different race is good for society. (Bailik). • 25. Why Do People Join Organized Religion Question 1 I honestly think that people, in general, want to feel a sense of belonging and that there is something greater than themselves guiding us through our day to day lives. In many instances, people believe in a God/Entity because it is a part of their culture and is held in high regard. Both in years past to present religion has played a major role in the way we as people view ourselves and each other. An example of why people join an organized religion would be for the purpose of social status. An example of that I would say is Scientology. From the outside looking in it really looks like this group is particularly seeking out the rich and famous to join the church. There are Scientology churches that are specifically for their rich and famous members to attend. Yet the less fortunate members are treated with less grandeur. That really seems like it s all about the status/money the church gains from its members and the status the members gain by joining this church. I bring this up because the original idea of joining a religion was to worship the most high and to learn to live by the rules set forth for its follower. The majority of believers are believers because the religion was handed down to them and they genuinely feel that the belief and practices are right for them and their families. Clinical Trial Essay Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational models. The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design of clinical trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug development which is one of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558 billion, with a 145% increase over an estimate made in 2003 [9]. 2. Clinical trial classification Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by methods that are not random. It considers a variety of psychological theorists and profoundly explores their research. Behaviourism refers to a psychological approach which explains human development in terms of how they learn from experience rather than a result of inborn tendencies or higher order thinking. Learning from experience moulds and shapes behaviour and personality. (A2Healthandsocialcarepg84) The behaviourist movement began in 1913 when John Watson wrote the article Psychology as the behaviourist views it. Other psychologists such as, Pavlov, Thorndike and Skinner also worked to develop behavioural theories of learning. (A2Healthandsocialcarepg84) They focused their explanations solely on behaviour, concerning what people do rather than what may or may not be going on in their minds. Behaviourists suggest that all behaviour is learned either through classical or operant conditioning. (PsychologyASpg.50) Thorndike s research offered valuable insights into conditioning. He studied the way animals learn by observing their responses in controlled conditions. He noticed that animals would often learn by trial and error. For example, a hungry cat would experiment with ways of escaping from a cage to receive a reward of food. When the cat discovered actions that helped it escape, it would remember them. A business infrastructure is generally made up of the processes, procedures, and systems within a company. Proved global reserves of oil and gas, at current rates of consumption, would be adequate to meet demand for another 40 and 60 years, respectively. Moreover, using of traditional sources of energy causes the greenhouse gases emission. These gases keep heat energy of electromagnetic waves at lower atmosphere. The process that produces this difference between the actual surface temperature and the effective temperature is due to the atmosphere and is known as the greenhouse effect. The Main Collective Theory Of Functionalist Theories Essay The main collective theme in functionalist theories is the ability to look at society as a whole, rather than making judgements on purely an individual s actions and the motives behind them. In continuation, firm believers of the ideology that everything in society has a purpose and a designated role in order for the collective society, to work cohesively and function. The explanation for this comes from Durkheim, a sociologist who placed importance in consensus to achieve the need for social order. These concepts can be defined as people within a society, who have a tendency to be selfish, but by having various institutions within society, they are able to obtain social order pass on norms, values and morals. Crime can be functional when the rates are low, but dysfunctional to society when the rates are too high. Furthermore he believed that crime was inevitable in society, because crime and deviance is the product of a lack of attachment to the prevailing values that were shared among a collective society. Durkheim widely argued that people were all individuals with different experiences, so consequently not everyone will inevitably share the same values. Without these shared norms and values being passed on the prospect of social order cannot be obtained as there will not be a collective conformity towards them and which is therefore enforced by various institutions and structures. • 44. The Code Of Conduct Set By The International Gymnastics... A score of 10.00 for a single routine is under the code of conduct set by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). It was originally thought to be unattainable, until 1976; when Nadia Comaneci scored the first ever perfect ten. There have been a few perfect scores after Comaneci, like the first male to score 10.00, Alexander Dityatin in 1980. The last two perfect tens that were given were in Barcelona in 1992. Between 1976 and 1992, lots of 10.00 were given out; making a perfect ten lose its meaning. In the years following, the skills got harder, the equipment changed and the code of points changed, making a perfect ten physically impossible. If one were to watch Nadia Comaneci s bar routine and compare it to Gabby Douglas bar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The women s uneven bars evolved from the men s parallel bars, which were originally fixed wooden rails set in the ground. Today both use flexible, adjustable rails that absorb shock and provide bounce for the gymnasts. Finally the balance beam was a long, narrow block of wood, mostly because routines focused more on the dance than the tumbling. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci introduced powerful tumbling in the 1970s, thus the beams had to change to increase safety. Now beams are padded with rounded, cushioning material to absorb shock of tumbling and jumping gymnasts. Grips help to grip the bar, and reduce the friction between the bar and the gymnast s hand. This helps to reduce the number of rips, which helps the gymnast perform more skills in less pain. Throughout the years the Code of Points has been changed by the International Gymnastics Federation. A new scoring system was introduced in 2006. It consists of an A score, based on the difficulty of elements, and a B score, based on artistic impression. The way to max out your A score is to cram the toughest possible moves into your routine and pack them as tightly together as you can manage. While the B score starts from 10, and points are taken off for mistakes such as flexed feet or bent knees. And the two scores are put together to create the final score. By doing this it has eliminated the perfect 10, as athletes can go over a 10.00 score. Gymnasts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Ic Engine Essay AMITY SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING SUBMITTED TO: SUBMITTED BY: Mr. Nilesh Kr. Dokania Shubham Kumar A12405413027 B.Tech (MAE) INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE I C ENGINE is an engine, where the combustion of fuel ( in general fossil fuel ) occurs with an oxidizer ( usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow circuit. In an I C ENGINE, the expansion of the high pressure and high pressure gases produced by combustion apply direct force to some component of engine. I C ENGINES include spark ignition(SI) engines using petrol as a fossil fuel, and compression ignition (CI) engines ( usually referred to as disesel engines) using fuel oil, etc as a fuel. PROCESSES ( in sequence ) in these engines: # compression # combustion # expansion # induction / exhaust Two basic mechanical disigns to achieve these four processes in either: FOUR STROKES of the piston hence the four stroke engine, or TWO STROKES of the piston hence the two stroke engine. THE MAIN TYPES OF IC ENGINE ARE: F NORMALLY VARIES WITH CYLINDER VOLUME: Thus the fundamental output of a reciprocating internal combustion engine can be considered to be torque it is theoretically produced even when engine speed ( RPM ) is zero. THE TORQUE FLUCTUATIONS ARE SMOOTHED OUT BY: Multi cylinder arrangement The use of a flywheel So that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Outsider Outsiders I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation (Martin Luther King). GETTYSBURG ADDRESS (19 NOVEMBER 1863) [1] Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal ( Abraham Lincoln). We meet at a time of tension between the United States and Muslims around the world tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate (Barack Obama). All of these are the starting point of great changes. These famous historical figures are considered Outsiders The Term Outsider Literally means One who does not belong to a particular group. Perception is the main key in deciding if someone belongs when they are an outsider. If you look at it from one group they don t belong and from another they do. One of the most famous outsiders in history is Martin Luther King. He was considered this because he decided to take a stance against what s normal and average. He wanted to have equal rights for both African Americans and Caucasians. By doing this he was considered an outsider by all people. They either stood with him or against him during his outside revolution. Although he did not like to be considered an outsider as shown by this quote Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Anyone who lives in the US can never be considered an outsider anywhere in the country He was an outsider by trying to make no one feel like an outsider themselves. So throughput this he didn t belong to the groups trying not to allow equal rights. But to the people, he stood up with he was a leader and belonged to their group, therefore even if you don t feel like you belong with the group you re in, you have a network. The next outsider is Our famous 16th president Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was considered the rail splitting candidates throughout his campaign and presidency. He was born and raised from working class roots. This set him apart from his opposing candidate William H. Seward (who was the former governor of New York and a sitting Senator. Seward came from a high class family, born and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
