Software Technology on Student Learning
My topic for the Senior Exhibition is Software Technology. I want to demonstrate how using
technology can enhance a high school students learning experience. By knowing what I know
about Software Technology I want to demonstrate how effective it can be to the educational
system. As a learning experience, It will include my interview with my mentor and all the sources
I cited. It will also include the ideas that will be required to commence my project right away.
Technology has impacted our lives with it s extraordinary stuff it can do. Finding almost all the
answers to literally anything, technology can be the answer to be a successful future. Creating
software programs is much harder than it sounds like. You need to know how to write code in a
computer JavaScript which many people do not know what it is or what it means. A JavaScript is
a blank page where you write commands (code) to order the computer to display and demonstrate
it on the user computer screen. Students these past few years, have been utilizing their mobile
phones or tablets as a resource to assist them with any of their assignments. There are already
some few software applications in smartphones that allow the user to get help on any subject for
the sake of learning with videos or with hands on tutorials. Technology has advanced so much it s
been idealized as perfection on computer platforms.

The things that I thought worked for the program was that the kids were all welcomed with open
arms and enthusiasm, which helped them to feel comfortable and excited about the activities of
the day. They were able to arrive and have something to eat before starting the day. The opening
ceremonies each morning gave structure and allowed the students to know what they could
expect during the day. The reflection time allowed the kids to have quiet time or time to burn off
their excess energy by playing basketball or football out in the grass areas. I think the guys truly
enjoyed the time playing sport and could see that college life can include both academic and
recreational activities. It was nice to display both arenas to them. The swag contests

Tidal Energy
Tidal Energy
Introduction
Climate change refers to any long term change in Earth s climate, or in the climate of a region or
city. This includes warming, cooling and changes besides temperature. (NASA Oct.2011) Earth is
going through the climate change of global warming. Climate change is causing a big threat that
would cause great catastrophe to the world and this problem will influence everyone around the
world. These changes are caused by the greenhouse gases which are produced when burning fossil
fuels and transportation. When fossil fuels are burned, they generate a fair amount of energy for
people, but at the same time, produce large amounts of pollution that damages our Earth. To slow
down climate change, we need to start making changes and shift our sole energy source from
burning fossil fuels to an alternative renewable energy source. While tidal energy is an interesting
technology and is capable of providing us a carbon free society, but it can never generate enough
energy to reduce the burning of fossil fuels because of the massive cost for the project and there is
limited places in the world to install the technology.

Tidal energy is converted based on the movements of tides. Tidal poweris the result of Earth s
rotation combined with the sun and moon s gravity. The tides come mostly from the Moon s
gravity and a little from the Sun s gravity. So as the Earth rotates, the ocean surface rises and
falls. Compared to nuclear reserves or fossil fuels, the resource of tidal energy will not run out or
end unless the sun and moon does. Usually, there are two high tides and two low tides each day.
With all the water moving up and down, we can capture the kinetic energy from the tides. It works
just like wind turbine except ocean tides turn the blades instead of wind. (Climate Kids,

6. Organ Trafficking Is The Illegal Trade Of Human Organs For...
Organ Trafficking, also known as transplant tourism is the illegal trade of human organs for
transplantation. (UNOFC,2016). On the other hand, organ donation is the act of transplanting
healthy organs and tissues from one person to another (Medline Plus,2015). It is no secret that
organ supply cannot meet the rising demand, and because of that a global organ transplantblack
market has grown and flourished(Glaser,2005). Although there has been some effort to establish a
global organ transplant resolution by the World Health Assembly and many countries have
established a ban on organ trafficking. The implementation of these bans remain weak and
ineffective. There also tends to be loopholes in these laws that encourage corruption(Glaser,2005).
To reduce or eliminate organ trafficking, laws should be thoroughly explained strengthened to
discourage many different interpretations. To play its part in decreasing organ trafficking, the USA
should enact the presumed consent law where the opt in system is amended to the opt out system.
As of January 2016, there are currently 121,678 people waiting lifesaving organ transplant in the
U.S. Of these, 100,791 are waiting for kidney transplant (National Kidney Foundation,2014). The
annual cost of the end stage kidney failure (ESKF) programs is estimated to be 32.5 billion (Jafar,
2009). These programs are used for ESKF patients that require maintenance dialysis therapy to treat

8. Liking Is for Cowards Essay
Jonathan Franzen wrote the article, Liking is for Cowards. Go for what Hurts. This article
caused extreme interest and controversy by the topic of his argument. The purpose of Franzen
writing the article was to challenge us to get back to the true meaning of love and not being so
terrified of rejection. He feels that we had become too comfortable just liking what people expect
us to and have lost the real understanding of the word love. Franzen stated, If you dedicate your
existence to being likable, however, and if you adopt whatever cool persona is necessary to make
it happen, it suggests that you ve despaired of being loved for who you really are (Franzen, Liking

He wants people to step away from their technology and go out into the real world and have real
world experiences. He wants people to take risks, but most of our world is afraid of that,
because of the fear of rejection. Franzen states, The prospect of pain generally, the pain of loss,
of breakup, of death, is what makes it so tempting to avoid love and stay safely in the world of
liking. He s admitting that love is hard and it comes with its own risks, but in the end, it is
definitely worth it. Franzen discusses his relationship to the environment to try to expand on
the ethos of his writing. He wrote how in college he developed a strong liking for the
environment and the world around us. He began to be frustrated and discouraged by all of the
negatives that the world faces every single day, such as rising global temperatures and the
accumulation of garbage in the ecosystem. Eventually, he made a conscious decision to back
away from the environment, but then he found a fascination with birds. He felt a sense of love
for the birds, and ironically, this made him even more concerned about the environment because
that was the home of the birds that he had such a passion for. And here s where a curious paradox
emerged. My anger and pain and despair about the planet were only increased by my concern for
wild birds, and yet, as I

makes this news more heartbreaking for Laertes. In the speech spoken to Laertes by Gertrude, it is
somewhat implied that Ophelia knowingly committed suicide. Ophelia s mental state in the scene s

and several cousins. Each of these people all still play a role in my life, and I am very close to
them. The people I live with which are my mom, step father, brother, and youngest step brother,
play the most significant roles in my life. They especially play the biggest parts when it comes
to rule creation and enforcement and use of power within the family more so than my extended
family do in those areas. As with most families, the parents in my house were in charge of rule
creation and enforcement in my household. When my step father first moved in to our house this
was a big issue. His parenting style was extremely different from what my mom and dad s was. I

Anne Sexton was an American poet, known for her highly intimate and sometimes even
controversial writing style. She started writing poetry in 1952 after being advised to do so by her
psychiatrist, whom she has been meeting to address her recessing mental health. In one of the
collections, called Trasformations, Sexton re tells Grimm s Fairy Tales in her own unique
confessional style, often using the absurdity of these stories to expose flaws and complexity of the
surrounding world. By slightly mocking the themes of the fairytales, Sexton succeeds in making us
question what is underneath their perfect facades. I would like to concentrate onto her re tell of

Thus one may argue that it is the contribution pattern of core participants and not all contributors
that matters for the project. However, success of FLOSS projects is driven by masses and not
individuals where each contributor has a unique role to serve. For instance, approximately 70% of
contributors in FLOSS projects are one time contributors. However, their presence ensures
popularity and interest in project, and is appreciated. So if contributors cease to file issues it is an
indicator of decreasing popularity and influences the age of project. With decreasing contribution
the project diminishes and slowly dies out.
In this study we assume absence of activities in three months as an indicator of contributors leaving
the project. This assumption is localized. For instance, an owner who stop participating for three
months indicates that the contributor has left the project while a reporter may continue
participation even after a year. However, for planning this assumption holds as it indicates the
trend of participation. Also the data available in ITS may not answer all RQs that are of relevance
to decision makers. However, it gives justifiable understanding of stability of the project in a data
driven and objective manner.
Another extension of this work will be to study environmental factors that influences stability of
project by examining contributor participation patterns. We present study on trends of participation,

21. Negative Behavior Of The Classroom
t of the problem of practice
Negative behavior in the classroom makes teaching and learning difficult in urban schools. The
results from the negative behavior has caused a decline in student profientency and teacher s
retention.
Introduction
The behavior of students in the classroom has transitioned over time. More disruptive behavior is
emerging and adequate teaching is the declining. A rise in disruptive behavior in the classroom
has caused educators to use more time on discipline rather than focusing on effective teaching.
(Rosenburg and Jackman, 2003). Studies show that the most challenging task of a classroom
educator is negative behavior. (White, R., Algozzine, B., Audetra, R., Marr, M., Ellis, E.D.
(2001) Negative or disruptive behavior in the classroom can be defined as any conflict with the
learning and teaching in the classroom. (Harrell II and Hollis Jr., 2009) Not only are children in
the classroom with behavior problems growing, (White et. al., 2001) there are also an increase
with children seeking services for mental disorders. Emotional and behavior disorder (EBD) and
attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) is the most diagnosed mental health disorder for
children. (Rosenburg and Jackman, 2003). These disorders are some of the reasons that has
contributed to negative behavior in the classroom. Disruptive behavior can really cause a
hindrance with the teaching and learning process. In a study by Scrates (2005), 56% of the

This is a review of an article which discusses the different techniques of hiring the right, mainly in
this case, senior executives. This article aims to provide leaders with guidance on how to add
value to the hiring process by improving their recruiting diagnostics. The article focuses on a
concept which is referred to as fit and unpacks. This concept breaks down into sub categories which
are, fit with the job, fit with the leader, fit with the team, and fit with the organization. Instead of the
traditional approach of recruiting and assessing candidates based on the current needs of the
organization, this concept also addresses the current and emerging talent requirements. The article

If leaders follow the techniques discussed in the article, they can avoid many expensive
consequences of hiring unfit candidates.
The article discusses three fronts on which being fit is composed of. One of the fronts is being
fit for the job. The list of candidates will of course be able to meet the technical demands of the
job as well as have the skills, experience, and be on the right career path but these are expected
credentials. The leader must be able to look past these credentials and focus on the depth of the
candidate s experience. A good way to do this would be to focus on the extent to which they have
demonstrated the qualities they talk about in their past work activities. Focusing on just what the
candidate says they have done and the qualities they have can distract a leader from what is really
important such as the quality and performance of their previous work.
Another topic discussed which I agree with is whether the candidate is entrepreneurial or is more
comfortable improving something which already exist. The leader must decide what they are
looking for. If I am looking for someone to come in a break up the current system then someone
with more entrepreneurial traits would be the right candidate. If I was looking for someone who
could improve the current system, then I would look for the candidate who has past experience
doing so.

The Holocaust is known to be time in history when Adolf Hitler was given power and used his
power to attempt to eliminate all Jews in Europe. This essay will discuss Hitler s anti Semitic
racial beliefs towards Jews, the consequences of his actions and the Final Solution. The Holocaust
started around Germany only, though not long after it had spread along all Europe. Hitler
instructed the Nazis in Germany in 1933 to eliminate all Jews in Europe any way they could and to
destroy their homes, families and communities. The killing during the Holocaustdidn t only involve
Jews, homosexuals, gypsies; people with physical or mental disabilities, some slaves and
criminals were also killed. All these people were killed because Hitler considered them
undesirable and he believed that they didn t deserve to be in Germany or have any rights. These
people were either killed in gas chambers at concentration camps or extermination camps or they
were brutally beaten and shot in front of everyone. The following paragraph will discuss Hitler s
racial beliefs towards Jews.
Before The Holocaust and The Final Solution, Jews all around Europe were considered equal to
non Jewish people and weren t treated any different. Jews before the Holocaust were very similar
to Germans. They were considered to have a high intellectual level on average and the were
treated equally. After Hitler came to power and began to punish the Jewish people, they weren t

24. Analysis Of The Poem Sebastian
Sebastian was perched calmly on the roof of the aged warehouse, legs hugged closely to his
torso to keep warm against the tranquil, autumn breeze. A glimpse of morning sun was seen
peeking through the split between two grey, miserable clouds, signalling the start of a new day.
Sprawled out before him were a vast array of city skyscrapers and the first signs of the morning
rush hour, with cars already starting to queue up on the recently paved roads. Contrasting to this
were the monochrome residential suburbs behind him, where a crowd of houses were arranged
on worn down concrete streets. The dangerous heights were ignored by the boy as he sat
motionless, gaze fixed on the distinctly coloured trees, their colour palette melting from yellow
ochre into burgundy and brown shades. A single leaf dropped. It descended down gracefully, as
if it were a golden angel coming down from heaven. In that moment a girl, wandering on the
roads just below him had caught his eye. She was humming a simple tune softly to herself as the
boy watched from above in awe, wondering if the song inside her headphones was as great as her
ineffable beauty. She looked like someone had cropped her straight from a magazine; her flawless
facial features fully complemented by her perfectly proportioned figure. Bleached blonde locks
billowed behind her like warm streaks of light in the coolness of the season. Watching her pass the
buildings below him, Sebastian finally moved after hours of sitting on that

25. The Success Of Luxury Brands
Luxury brands should be able to effectively create some emotional connection with its customers
and should not strive to please mass markets, but specifically to only those customers whose
beliefs align with the brands. Beliefs go further to establish a connection than just brand values;
they are more specific and consequently lead to higher diversification (Keller et al, 2008). Ferrari
provides a good example of this. An Italian luxury sports car manufacturing company, according to

Like Chanel, luxury brands should strive to achieve as broad a spectrum of icons associated with
their brand as possible (Peterson, 2014).
The place(s) in which the brand is sold is a vital aspect of luxury branding success. If a brand can
create an atmosphere that is aesthetically and emotionally pleasing, then it evokes luxury to its
customers. One example of this is men s bespoke shirt maker, Charvet Place VendГґme, often
referred to as simply Charvet. Situated in the one of the hГґtels particuliers (the French equivalent
to a grand British townhouse) that surrounds the Place VendГґme in Paris. The Charvet store
operates across seven floors within this building. This store epitomises elegance and grandeur and
as such, Charvet have created a temple like store, for which their customers can enjoy their
products, allowing for a deeper more emotional connection to the brand itself (Mr Porter, 2015).
Customers are pulled towards brands with the promise of becoming part of an exclusive
community. This creates a sense of great desire to purchase luxury branded products. For example,
Hermes, which specialises in leather, lifestyle accessories, fragrance, ready to wear clothing as
well as other luxury goods, will not allow customers to buy their iconic handbags until they have
formed a long term relationship with the brand itself (Grigorian and

The first natural disaster recorded in China was in 1556. It was an earthquake that killed 830,000
people ( Deadliest Earthquake in History Rocks China. ). The most recent natural disaster in China
was an earthquake on September 30th, 2017(earthquake.usgs.gov). 451 years later, and China is

people are picking up and moving on, but the disasters keep coming back, sometimes causing more
damage than before. The government just rebuilds the same way, no changes in the structures, just
as weak as they were before. When disaster strikes again, the same buildings fall over and over.
According to Corey Flintoff, in an article in which he makes a valid point, China can t control the
disasters that come their way, but they can try to adapt and prepare for the next one. In the
beginning of his article, Flintoff makes the argument that China knows about these natural disasters.
They understand that they are located in an area that is prone to natural disasters, yet when
rebuilding, they don t attempt to make these structures more stable and resistant to disasters, such
as floods and earthquakes. According to World UN News Centre, We know that prevention is better

My choice of organization is leaning towards the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical

one of my Strategic and Planning Management classes. Similar to Tufts NEMC, the Floating
Hospital for Children has a rich history as it was established in 1894 as a hospitalship, sailing in
BostonHarbor. Back then, people believed that fresh air was the most favorable alternative in
treating ailing children. It has continued to provide medical care to sick children while cruising
Boston Harbor for the next three decades. It has then upgraded its facilities and expanded
amenities to having an inpatient service and onboard research facility. However, at some point in
the spring of 1927, the floating hospital was ruined by fire. As luck would have it, none had been
on board. Four years later, another facility was built this time on land providing a comprehensive
service pediatric facility with ongoing research activities. In 1965, the facility has officially merged
with Tufts Medical Center. Tufts is the oldest permanent medical facility in the nation. Samuel
Adams and Paul Revere originally established it at the Boston Dispensary in 1796. Despite the

1.Introduction When the Beef industry took a hit about ten years ago, one company who was able

they have successfully implemented a new system into stabilizing their business, is how do they
begin to thrive in it? Currently, the system they have implemented is much more effective than the
prior. One key to the new system was the idea of reduced roles. This was key strategy because it
allowed the company to consolidate and focus on themselves rather than worry about the market.
Instead of panicking, they looked inward to discover the key to surviving in a sinking market.

company. This kind of high employee efficiency mixed with happy workers produces an
outcome that will save KBJ Beef Processing Equipment from the seemingly inevitable downfall
of the beef market. 3.Comparisons The main reason Suede implemented this structure was
because the efficiency of the company was not where it needed to be in order to survive the

completely around. Placing the responsibilities of the employees completely on their own

Natural disasters play a significant role in the world. Natural disasters have demonstrated to be a

continue to exist and occur through the world. Several technology advances have been created to
predict natural disasters; however these occurrences cannot be controlled.I live in the state of

FEMA California experiences the most recurrent damaging earthquakes, but Alaska experiences the

California there are other parts of the world that are affected by earthquakes. According to USGS,
Japan is a country that resides in a very active seismic area; therefore Japan is a country that

Clever women, Euripides had warned hundreds of years earlier, were dangerous. 3 From the
opening of Shakespeare s play, we are introduced to Cleopatra s domination over Antony. Her
dominance to Antony in theatrical terms, in military terms, and ultimately in sexual terms
(Dusinberre 57) confirms the imbalance of gender equality in the play, and we consider
Cleopatra the character with the most control. Cleopatra s distinctive qualities are emphasized
by Shakespeare when he compares her to Venus, and Isis. Cleopatra s power continues
throughout the play as Antony continues to make political decisions based on his feelings for
Cleopatra. He follows her into a battle by sea, even after being warned by Enobarbus that their
efforts would be stronger on land. He withdraws from the sea battle inappropriately and in doing
so discards his responsibilities as commander and male. Rocking the balance of gender,
Cleopatra fills the role of a dominant male by being assertive in her decision making while
Antony follows her like a lovesick school boy. Thus, Shakespeare has presented Cleopatra as such

As much as society does not want to admit, violence serves as a form of entertainment. In media
today, violence typically has no meaning. Literature, movies, and music, saturated with violence,
enter the homes of millions everyday. On the other hand, in Beloved, a novel by Toni Morrison,
violence contributes greatly to the overall work. The story takes place during the age of the
enslavement of African Americans for rural labor in plantations. Sethe, the proud and noble

One may argue that she does not display much emotion while killing her children, she
unquestionably resembles a lunatic. Without this vital scene, Beloved would lack the utterly
shocking element that such violence provides. People want to immerse themselves into stories
about lunatics, emerge in the drama, and sympathize with the dire pain Sethe feels. Violent scenes,
among other elements, allow for this to occur in a novel.
Destruction of identity, another theme of the novel, relates to the violent scenes. In the second
part of Beloved, Sethe takes a stand and expresses her feeling on the violent acts being
performed on her. Nobody will ever get my milk no more except my own children. I never had
to give it to nobody else and the one time I did it was took from me they held me down and took

vows to never let such a horrendous act happen to her again. Beloved s reincarnation occurs
because Sethe needs to face her dark past head on and free herself from living in shame. It took
time, but, Sethe eventually overcomes the odds and begins to live freely and peacefully in her house.

the important elements of the story the same and alters others. Why did Morrison go through the

Jude the Obscure Theme Analysis of Marriage
Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes throughout his book
including social order and higher learning which is mainly seen in the first part of the book.
Jude, a working class boy aiming to educate himself, dreams of a high level education at a
university, but is pushed away by the cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book,
Jude abandons his idea of entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love,
marriage, freedom replace the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of these
themes to his audience and challenges everyday ideology by his audacious story about Jude Hawley.

Instead, he is an extremely patient and liberal husband.
Sue s views on marriage should not necessarily be connected with Hardy s. Hardy himself points
out her emotional inconsistency, and there are several signs that she is not really cut out for
marriage. In Part V, both Jude s and Sue s divorces come through, but Sue avoids their possible
marriage. She calls marriage a sordid contract and a hopelessly vulgar institution, and she fears that
an iron contract should extinguish all tenderness between them, reinforcing Hardy s negative view
of the nature of marriage.
Most of Sue s views on marriage are given in parts V and VI. She feels that the contractual nature
of it will kill all impulse and romance; it is foreign to a man s nature to go on loving a person
when he is told that he must and shall be a person s lover, (193). The visit to the unclean registry
office in part V, chapter 4 is horrifying for her, and she shows abhorrence to the ordinary church
wedding. She sees it in terms of a sacrifice of the bride: the flowers in the bride s hand are sadly
like the garland which decked the heifers of sacrifice in olden times, (215). Sue s views on
marriage are rather extreme, and they represent a push away from the norms of marriage.
Hardy also raises some valid arguments of the overly rigid attitude of society towards the unmarried
and the unconventional. Phillotson s

control those feelings and continue with whatever task at hand. Most of the time, however, he will
simply try to avoid situations in which he thinks will trigger those panic attacks.
Early last year in 2010, due to his frustration in trying to overcome those panic attacks, he fell
into depression. At the same time, he said that he was also having problem at work with one of
his colleagues who seemed to be jealous of him and tried to damage his reputation. She would
often try to monitor his whereabouts and make it known to his superior whenever he was absent
from his office. To add to the stress at work, his wife was also constantly nagging him at home.
All these factors caused a lot of stress for him and contributed to his depression. He began to feel
like life was not worth the struggle anymore. He had tried reading all sorts of self help books to
motivate himself and provide relief but none really helped. He began to feel worthless and
hopeless for not being able to overcome his panic attack. He realised that his anxiety was baseless
but he simply could not control it whenever it

44. Major Turning Points in U.S. History (1492-1820)
Major Turning Points in U.S. History (1492 1820)
Throughout documented United States history, immense changes in social, political, and economic
establishments have been brought about by perplexing people or conditions. Often, these changes
mark a turning point in the progress of civilization as new ideas are formed, new governments
raised, or new discoveries put to use in the interest of progress. Whether these pivotal moments in
history may be triggered due to a single nonconforming individual or a vast, radical multitude, each
turning point has explicit influences and outcomes which shaped America for years to follow.
Every important decision has two key dimensions. The first is the outcome in the immediate case,
and the second is as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New ideas like those conveyed in the Declaration of Independence were finally allowed to spread
and grow in the new country. The British gave America all of the land between the Atlantic Ocean
and the Mississippi River, from Canada to the north and Florida to the south. If the revolution had
not taken place, it is probable we would still be under British rule today. The newly formed United
States of America would need to set up a new national government. The citizens of the new country
did not want a government that would inflict high taxes like England did before the revolution.
However the new government would be weak unless the states were willing to compromise.
The Articles of Confederation specified that all thirteen states had to ratify any new constitution for
it to take effect. To avoid this obstacle, the delegates included in the new Constitution a section
outlining a new plan for ratification. Once nine of the thirteen states had ratified the document (at
special conventions with elected representatives), the Constitution would replace the Articles in
those nine states. The delegates figured correctly that the remaining states would be unable to
survive on their own and would have to ratify the new document as well. Politically, the creation of
a new constitution, led to the establishment of a new centralized democratic government. Socially,
more individuals and groups fought to secure rights for themselves, especially women, slaves, and
religious

45. Similarities Between Wordsworth And Romanticism
Romanticism The Industrial Revolution in England brought major changes to British lifestyle. The
working classes experienced polluted conditions both in factories and at home. Technological
advances contributed to a less agriculturally dependent economy. The Enlightenment also reinforced
rational thinking, rather than imagination. The increasingly industrial society in England led
Romantic writers to emphasize the beauty of the natural world because they questioned both the
advancements of industry and the virtue of human rationalism (Kagan 416 418). British Romantics
William Wordsworth and John Keats both embrace the uplifting and inspiring qualities of the
natural world in many of their poems. However, while Wordsworth alludes to a... Show more

Again, he creates an unearthly and spiritual mood to emphasize nature as a dreamlike domain.
By doing so, he recognizes the calming qualities of the natural world, and so takes time to
recollect his experience with the daffodils. In addition to incorporating a transcendental register
of diction, Wordsworth uses personification to develop the spiritual quality of nature.
Wordsworth personifies the daffodils and compares them to spiritual entities to create an
ethereal mood in his poem, giving the flowers a mythical quality. He incorporates mythopoesis,
which is the making of myths ( Mythopoesis ). The daffodils are described as a crowd, / A host,
of golden Daffodils (Wordsworth 3 4). In literature, angels are referred to as the heavenly host (
Angel Wings Angels ). Wordsworth makes this connection to portray the daffodils as mythical and
angelic. Nature is personified as a spiritual being, which makes it seem otherworldly, and thus
Wordsworth presents the natural world as a dreamlike entity that he can always look back on for
serenity. Also, he describes the daffodils Tossing their heads in a sprightly dance (12). The term
sprightly derives from the word sprite, meaning a fairy like creature ( Sprite ). Again, Wordsworth
compares the daffodils to a mythical being, making nature spiritual. He constantly personifies the
daffodils using mythopoesis to highlight

46. The Myth Of Dante s Divine Comedy By Harry Potter And The...
A Myth is a story that keeps being retold. How is the myth of Glaucus actualized (i.e. what are
the new cultural implications at stake) in the first Canto of Paradise of Dante s Divine
Comedy? And in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? ( /2) The Myth of Glaucus begins when
Glaucus, a mortal in Greek mythology, becomes immortal by eating a magical herb. When he
goes into the water he is then turned into a prophetic god of the sea. This myth is actualized the
film, Harry potter and the Goblet of fire, when Harry consumes the Ghillie weed and grows
flippers and gills when he jumps into the lake. This transformation is done through magic, rather
than a miracle, so it has a magical theme rather than a spiritual one, loosing the religious aspect.
The weed Harry consumes in the story is very similar to the one used in the myth of Glaucus
showing where the idea of the Ghillie weed came from, and how the transformation is actualized
through magic. The myth of Glacus is also actualized in Dante s Divine Comedy when Dante
transcends beyond the human kind, and becomes equal to the Gods by looking at Beatrice, similar
to how Glaucus used the herb to gain his power. Beatrice stood unmoved; and I with kenFix d upon
her, from upward gaze removed,At her aspect, such inwardly became65 As Glaucus, when he tasted
of the herbThat made him peer among the ocean gods:Words may not tell of that trans human

47. Most Scared Descriptive Writing
The Most Scared I ve Ever Been...
It was about two weeks after school got out. It was just a run of the mill kind of Sunday. I
decided to take my usual day long naps that seemed to repeatedly happen during the weekend.
Once I woke up I was determined to go see what my family was up to, so I went up the stairs two
at a time. When I got halfway up the stairs I remembered that I had to go to work in an hour. I
skidded to a stop and barely stopped myself from plunging down the stairs that I had just ran up by
gripping the handrail. Which was gratefully attached to the wall on the right of me. Turning around
so fast that I almost plummeted to my death, I began to scurry back down the stairs. When I
rounded the corner to my bedroom I slammed my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pulling out of our driveway towards the depths of hell. We got onto the freeway away from the
bumpy roads of Leeds, and I felt myself relax into the book.
We were driving for about ten minutes when it happened. The car jerked to the right making the
most frightening screeching noise, and causing my phone to go soaring from my now
trembling hands. On the passenger side (my side) I watched as we slammed into a ginormous,
giant semi truck, and I felt my heart rate go bezerk. I felt like it was a movie and I was watching
this happen from above as my older sister wrenched the car to the left trying to get away from the
enormous semi truck. I next heard a scream. After realizing that I screamed I put my hands over
my mouth and had the audacity to feel embarrassed even in the scary situation that we were in.
After the trauma of the moment and realizing that we were both okay, I look over to my sister
who is holding the steering wheel like a death grip. I tell her that it was going to be ok and that
she needed to pull off the road, so we found a clear spot to pull off to and then parked the now
battered car. Using my shaking hands I slowly grabbed my phone and after taking a long, deep
breath I called my parents and told them what happened. Not knowing what to do we waited for
the cops and my parents to show up and called our workplace explaining the situation and telling
them we were going to be late for
