Working Title:
Urban Football
Audience:
The audience for my game is going to be people aged 16-19 years old. The gender my game will
appeal to more is more typically males as culturally it is Males who usually prefer football, typically
males culturally like violence, violence is something that can be synonymous with football and its
fans so I could incorporate into my game lightly, for example adding a defending doing a
dangerous slide tackle.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the year, generally, my progress has developed to a certain extent on Photoshop.
Initially I knew nothing at all about Photoshop but after a few rotations and YouTube tutorials I
have a better understanding of Photoshop although it is still quite basic, front my advergame I
learned how to create an animation in Photoshop to emulate the creation of a game, however
since then I have forgot and will need a quick refresh of how to use the timeline part on Photoshop.
My advergame was a side scroller game and a completely different concept and was also much
simpler to create, something useful from my advergame I did was looking at walk cycles and using
them to position my character and give him certain stances which is what I will do in my actual
product.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my project is a mobile football game, however it is not a typical football game and
is more like a foot-golf type concept. The game is going to have an urban street setting and the
focus will be to kick a ball into a bin, the game will increase in difficulty by adding obstacles to the
game, as well as crating a further distance from the ball to the bin, the obstacles in the way will
include items/ things that may be found down a run-down street/ like slums in Brazil. The player
will get an in-game currency from progressing in the game which can be spent on different
footballs and different characters. As the levels change so will the location, for example on a
harder level the location will be a different street, with a fence in the way for example. The game
will also include different sounds, for example the sound of a ball being kicked, also when a shot
goes wide I will add a sound of a window crashing. The research I will need to conduct is look at
some street football locations/ some slums where they have run down football pitches, this will
help my project as it will help it look like a real place when I am creating it, I will also need to
research my audience and see what features of a game make them want to play a game.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
Weekly, I will evaluate the work I have done that week, and describe what I have done, while
adding what my strengths and weaknesses were during that task as well as how I could improve it
and what I would do next time. Then once the production is all complete I will complete an
evaluation PowerPoint which I have done during the other rotations, on this I will evaluate each
part of the production/ pre-production in a lot more specific detail, I need to remember that when I
am evaluating to reflect more than just describe what I did, this evaluation will be beneficial as I
can see what aspects went wrong and how I can improve certain elements for when I am doing my
FMP.
