Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the

Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Age: The game is meant to be for people age 16-19 although I think my game will appeal to any
age since it is a very simple idea and you don’t need to be that intelligent or old to understand it
and have fun playing it.
Gender: Male- I think that this game is targeted more to men than women since it is a game that
involves driving and cars are typically things that are liked by men and boys. Also there is a violent
element to the game through explosions and violence is something stereotypically found more
entertaining by men than by women. However, I think something that will appeal to women as well
as men is that I will include the choice to make your own character at the start of your game so
you can choose your gender.
Social status: Working class- I think that this game would appeal to working class people since it is
an arcade style game and playing games in an arcade is a hobby usually taken up by working
class people. Also this game will be free to play which will appeal to working class people since
they are not typically wealthy so they will like that it is free to play and you don’t need to pay to
play it like some phone/tablet games.
Sexuality: This game will really appeal to any sexuality since the game isn’t reliant on characters
since you are just driving a car but you can choose your preferred gender at the start of the game
so this could mean that you could choose the gender that you are attracted to.

What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
I have learned how to animate using photoshop. This helps my project as I need to know how to
animate to create my video game.
I have also learned how to animate my work on photoshop in a pixel art style.
My advergame was for Irn-Bru and I created a sidescroller game. I don’t think that my advergame
has had much of an impact on my game however since it is a completely different genre and style
of game, although I could use it for motivation to do better work for my current project since my
advergame was pretty poor.

The concept for my project is to make a video game of my choice for 16-19 year olds.
I am going to make a limitless runner phone game where you are driving a car that has
been planted with a bomb and you need to try to drive as far as possible without hitting into

anything or the bomb will explode. The further you drive, the faster and more difficult the
game will be. There are things to collect like coins and power ups. Your score at the end
shows how many metres you travelled and how many items you collected.
Research I will need to conduct: I will need to research animation techniques. For example,
I may need to research how to animate in a top down view as this is something I haven’t
done much before and it may be quite difficult to animate buildings a nd have them actually
look like buildings.
I will need to research types of locations that I could use in my game- for example I plan on
using a location such as a city so I should have a look at things that are in cities that I
could include in my game.
