What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
The main purpose of my product is to entertain an audience, but I also like the idea of using real
facts and making it slightly educational.
Genre:
What sort of product is it
My product will fit into the genres of – crime and mystery, thriller, action and historical fiction...
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My two products I will be producing will be part of a fictional TV series – set in the 1960s,
cold war. In this series we follow a detective who's quite isolated from society, whilst
tragically finding a slight chemistry with a Russian agent.
Research & Planning
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and inform your final idea
(be specific to certain parts)
From my research, I can gain a idea into what similar products of this range should look like – from
the products I was looking at (posters and titles sequences.) e.g. from the poster I research I did, I
found there was a both similar layout used for the posters – in which they placed our main
character in the foreground of the poster, where the logo was either placed above or below the
product; also, something I liked about the one of the poster I looked at for my research (the Luther
poster,) - I liked the way they used a background with a grotty textures and fades applied to it, on
top of some of the imagery – for example, the designers applied a glow around the main character,
making him appear quite holy to the audience – as if he was a guardian angle; along with liking the
a the rough texture they've used for the logo – this giving the logo character. To add to this, I did a
similar thing with the titles I looked at, establishing a set trend (between the three,) they often
established the main cast and sometimes when into a deeper listing of the cast – including some
of the production workers, as well as addition colours or certain types of colours could be found
used throughout the tittles; from this I also found that I liked the character that the James Bond title
sequence applied into there title sequences; I also (on top that,) like the use of characters in the
title sequence, especially the use of the main character.
(Basically from the products I researched, I can work of the thing I liked and change the things I
didn't from there's – basically, I can work of my feedback/analysis of their products...)
As well as this, from the research I did, I can gain a better understanding of my audience from the
questionnaires and interview I did. If these were done efficiently – I could learn what my main
viewing audience are typically into and what the like in terms of the mediums colour schemes,
visuals, music and tones they like to include in the different mediums.
With my experiment I did (prior to when I did my actual production or even pre-production,) I could
act upon my research and mood-boards, then star playing with some of the ideas I had seen in
existing products and see what would for my final product – in terms of layout, colours, visuals,
tones, sound and music, ect...

Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My product is at ages 16 to 19 (as my primary) and 20+ (as my secondary,) Type A, males,
of a middle class...
I've helped appeal to this demographic, by creating a creating a character story to either
relate to or approve of some of the messages provided by my product – e.g. my characters
will be of a similar background, whilst the main character's a male of an age in my
secondary audience. On top of this, my stories will include things like anti-war messages
(going with the time period it was set in,) appealing to the psychographic of Type A, and the
stories will include some of the character's isolated personality and some of his grief about
the right and wrong...
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? No, though my content may be created for a
mature audience and be set in the 60s (a period where it was ok to be more discriminative -
openly discriminative as they were back then,) I'll be removing all kind of material of this level.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? Yes, (as I pointed out in my research-) my
show will include some mature topics and themes – meaning it will most likely be on after
watershed...
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? Again, though my content may be created for
a mature audience and be set in the 60s (a period where it was ok to be more discriminative -
openly discriminative as they were back then,) I'll be removing all kind of material of this level.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? Any of the content (even if it's of historical
accuracy,) I'll take it out. By avoiding the topic, people cant be offended what's not said or done.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? No, for my FMP, I wanted to
create an entirely new product – rather than basing of an already exciting project – as done
previously... So I picked a genre, a theme and a time and I started to make a new product – of my
own...
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? Again, as this is a new product, there's no problem of people suing for stolen
content – if there isn't anything I've stolen...
