Over the last week my class and I have been analysing different still images,
camera shots, movie posters, and we have also done a small amount of
institution research.
Our first task of this week was to create our own still images – my group had to
create images based on the rom-com genre (short for romance-comedy). We
were fairly successful in this and the class could tell what genre the shots
belonged to, we then analysed shots from different movies and what they
show, we did this by talking about camera shots, lighting, enigma, props and
the character(s) that are in the shot.
I also learnt a few of the basics on camera shots this week, learning why they are
used and what they are called. From this I could analyse movie posters and
still images much more easily.
Towards the end of this week I have done a limited amount of research on two
different institutions including 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures, this
have helped me explore and understand further the media industry.
