Manliness Through Camera Angle And Zoom Analysis
The Change in Manliness Through Camera Angle and Zoom By April of 1945, the second World War
was drawing to a close. Nazi Germany was unraveling as the allies were closing in on Berlin.
However, the battle for the Pacific was still raging. The movie Hacksaw Ridge by Mel Gibson
encapsulates the vicious fighting between the Americans and Japanese during the battle of Okinawa.
The movie depicts the struggle Private Desmond Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) during boot camp,
and battle, faced from his fellow soldiers because of his extreme religious practices. In the middle of
the film, during boot camp, we can see that the platoon bully Doss in the barracks, especially Private
Smitty. In this scene, through camera angle and camera zoom, Mel Gibson encapsulates the
discrimination and group mentality of the platoon against Doss. After the initial assault however, and
after Doss single handedly saves seventy or more soldiers, the platoon waits for Doss to finish his
prayer before assaulting Hacksaw Ridge the second time. By showing this scene, Mel Gibson destroys
the connotation that a man is only judged by his physicality and toughness. By showing that Desmond
is the most courageous man in the platoon without being violent, it shows that religion and self belief
is what a man is truly judged on. The first shot of the barracks invites the audience to see the
harassment through Desmond s eyes as he is sitting on his bed reading his bible. Smitty is hanging in
the background,

Immigrants Be Illegal
Immigrating should be legal because I believe we all have human rights and freedom is one of our
rights so why can t we all be equal. I honestly feel like immigrants work really hard and seek for a
better life, If it wasn t for immigrants crossing over here how would our countries even hold ups are
basically the ones who run it. How are some of us considered legal and some illegal; aren t we all
supposed to be equal? Illegal citizens usually move to other countries in search of improved living
standards and higher education. It s through higher education that these people will have increased
standards of living. As a result, they move in these countries so that they can get a higher education
which will enable them to work in good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
America is a selfish country that thinks that they are beyond others and everyone s out to get them.
They are inhospitable to others from another country because they are scared that their jobs might be
taken away. A controlled, limited, flow of physically and mentally healthy immigrants who will
assimilate and are capable of contributing to America with their skills and training is a good thing. The
uncontrolled invasion that has been allowed to overrun our country, threaten our culture, and burden
our social systems, is a national disgrace and a threat to our security. I m all for the equal opportunity
so for the people who are against it what if your family were immigrants? Then they would not be
against it right. I come from a family that is undocumented and that s not the only reason why I want
to make people understand why Non Citizens should have the right to immigrate but because I have
seen my family struggle. Families are away from each other and we can t see each other because of
the law. I myself am a U.S citizen that wants to fight for the rights that Non Citizens deserve,
President Trump has made this world become hell Trump has blamed undocumented immigrants for
taking American jobs, committing violent crimes and milking US taxpayers. The Conference Board

Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Stages
Erikson s Psychosocial Stages Erik Erikson discussed psychosocial stages, his theory however was
predicated upon Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages. According to Erikson, the ego
develops as it prosperously resolves crises that are distinctly gregarious in nature. These involve
establishing a sense of confide in others, developing a sense of identity in society, and availing the
next generation prepare for the future. Erikson proposed a lifespan model of developing , taking in
five stages up to the age of 18 old age and three further levels beyond, well into adulthood. Erikson
suggests that there is still plenty of room for continued emergence and development throughout one s
life. Erikson put a great mountain of stress on the adolescent time period , feeling it was a crucial stage
for developing a person s identity. The outcome of this maturation timetable is a wide and integrated
set of life skills and abilities that function together within the autonomous individual. However,
instead of focusing on sexual development (like Freud), he was interested in how children socialize
and how this affects their sense of self. Psychosocial Stages Erikson s (1959) theory of psychosocial
development has eight distinct stages. 1. Trust vs. Mistrust Erikson s first psychosocial crisis occurs
during the first year of life, during this stage the infant is uncertain about the world in which they live.
To resolution these feelings of uncertainty the baby looks towards

Define Terrorism And Just War
Part A. Defining Terrorism and Just War
Global definitions of terrorism are presented in the background reading. What would you propose as a
global definition of terrorism?
The challenges experienced at the international level with regard to arriving at a consensus about the
definition of terrorism are based on the fact that the term raises political and emotional tensions.
However, the international community through the United Nations has embraced various sectorial
conventions that describe and criminalize several types of terrorist activities. Moreover, the general
assembly of the UN has spoken against terrorist activities through diverse political definitions of
terrorism. They have been described as criminal activities geared or measured ... Show more content

American interests at the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, killing 19 American servicemen and a Saudi

Virginia on numerous charges in relation to the 1996 events. The Ft Hood shooter identified as Nidal
Malik Hassan does not fit with the conventional terrorist profiles. Even though he had exhibited
numerous instances of opposition to the wars America was participating, he did not have a motive of

Pope Francis Influence
On March 13, 2013 white smoke ushered in a new era within the Roman Catholic Church. For the first
time in its history, a Pope from the Americas was chosen to lead. It was expected that the newly
elected American Pope, who called himself Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, would help restore the
Catholic Church s reputation, reform the clerical bureaucracy, and reinvigorate Catholic participation.
In the first few months of his papacy, that is exactly what he did.
Pope Francis did away with ornate and rigid traditions of previous popes. He restructured core Vatican
institutions such as the clerical hierarchy and the banking system, in order to drive out corruption. His
messages of simplicity and mercy were engrained in unselfish gestures, such as the washing of
offenders feet, (something) , and (something), that helped bring Catholics back into the fold. Yet, for
some Catholics, like Maureen Dowd, Pope Francis efforts have not changed the church enough.

In her piece, Dowd spoke against Pope Francis lack of support for a group of American nuns who had
publically endorsed liberal legislation (such as contraception, gay rights and abortion as well as a
feminization of God) that contradicted long held church teachings. Dowd questioned how Pope
Francis could confess to believe in social justice and helping the poor when he failed to prevent
orthodox clergy from chastising nuns who held beliefs that would seemingly align with the Pope s
own motto of Who am I to judge . Her article linked this instance on non action to another instance of

Similarities Between The Garden Of Eden And The Tabernacle
Similarities Between the Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Throughout the Old Testament, the
tabernacle was a centerfold of worshiping God for the Israelite people. This was where believers could
congregate to seek peace, sing praises, and make animal sacrifices to God. The tabernacle was also a
resting place for God to come down from Heaven and dwell with His children. Similarly, the Garden
of Eden was once a perfect creation for God to have an earthly dwelling place to be with Adam and
Eve. That, until the age old story of sin and deception came into place. The Garden of Eden was a
perfect model of how God designed a place of worship to be, that is why He provided Moses with
specific instructions of how the tabernacle should be built as a replica of the garden. The tabernacle
stands as a symbolic model of the original creation the Garden of Eden, through its reproduction of
several of the garden s well known features, such as the cherubim guarding the entrance, the Tree of
Life, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the direction of the Garden facing east. The
tabernacle s recreation of the cherubim guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden is in its placement
of these angelic beings sitting above and protecting the sacred Ark of the Covenant. The ark was an
intricately decorated wooden box holding a copy of the Ten Commandments, symbolizing the living
presence of God among the people. The ark, like Eden, was a sacred place where only God could
dwell and sin may never be present. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, cherubim were placed at the
entrance of the Garden to shield His perfect creation from sin. In doing so, He made sure that the two
would not find the entrance again, ( Guarding the Gate of Eden. ). Likewise, to protect the holiness of
the ark, God ordered the Israelites to create cherubim to protect the ark from sin intruding upon its
presence. Lisa Schachter states in her article, The Garden of Eden as God s First Sanctuary, that in
both contexts [the cherubim] are the guardians of both the literal and figurative Tree of Life discussed
in the story of creation. God did not want His perfect creation to become corrupted again, so He
placed cherubim on both sides of the ark as a

The Religion Of The 20th Century
The religion was first founded in New York in 1844 by William Miller. Miller started out being a deist,
but he converted and became a baptist preacher. Finally creating his own religion, and his followers
were known as Millerites. Later in 1854, J.N. Andrews, Miller, Joseph Bates, and Ellen G. and James
Springer White created the official Seventh Day Adventist Church. The official name of Seventh Day
Adventist was not officially put into place until 1863 at the first conference and formation of the
Seventh Day Adventist(SDA) Church on May 21. By the early 1870 s SDA began to send missionaries
to Europe and Australia. In 1849, the first SDA newspaper was printed in Middletown, Connecticut.

The people that are considered unworthy get destroyed, and the people that pass help Jesus create a
heaven on earth and everyone lives there in peace forever. The people that were saved are considered
God like at that point. The SDAs believe that the first covenant made between the people and God was
essentially a covenant of death. They believe we owe God our lives because he did for us. One obtains
happiness by being chosen to live on the newly created planet during the second resurrection. The
only way to get chosen and live a perfect life is to follow every commandment word for word. The
SDAs believe that the only day that is to be rested upon is Saturday. This is because in the creation
story God rested on the seventh day. They believe just as Catholics that Abortions is wrong. It is
impossible for us to be God. This is because we are created in his image and likeness, but we are not
as powerful as God. He was the first, therefore, he knows better than us. The United States and Europe
have the biggest population of Seventh Day Adventists in the world. The next largest population is in
Asia and South America. By learning about this religion, it helps one to be able to better defend their
faith, and understand where they have gone wrong in their life. It also helps one be able to better
understand where someone of that faith is coming

The Health Of The Population Health
The population health factors is a subject of extensive discussion within American health care system,
nonetheless, few comprehend the bearing to modern health care environment.
An array of factors like personal, social, economic, and environment issues influence and determines
the health of individual and population, acting in various combination (Knickman Kovner, 2015).
These determinants of health, known as population health determinants generally include genetics,
access to health care, individual behavior, social determinant, physical environment (Knickman
Kovner, 2015).
Determinant factors are fundamental to the prevention of disease, illness, and injury because it
illustrates health dispositions on why some individual or population are in better health than another
counterpart. HIV/AID is the population health issue I selected. About 1.2 million of people in the
United States are living with HIV infection, and approximately 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their
infection. HIV/AIDS disproportionately affects racial and ethnic minorities, many of whom are
medically underserved. Our health status depends on how we live our daily lives, how we interact
with the environment in which we live, and our support systems (Knickman Kovner, 2015).
Access to Health Care
According to Human Rights Watch (2014) access to health, and scarcity is a fundamental problem
amongst many people that reside in a southern part of the United States. Health care access and

The Character Of Barnardine In Measure For Measure By...
At first glance, it seems like the character of Barnardine in Measure for Measure is not an important
one. Unlike the main characters of the play, Barnardine has no more than 13 lines, and it does not
seem like his existence drives the play in any way. Barnardine provides a comedic break in a comedy
that seems more like a tragedy, and without further analysis, it does not seem like the character has
much to offer. However, in many ways, Barnardine is the key character in the play. Through
Barnardine and some of his parallaxes with Claudio, the reader dives into the flaws in the Duke s
character that until act 4 seems almost perfect. The Duke is presented as responsible, all knowing, and
incredibly smart. However, Barnardine highlights the Duke s clumsiness, powerlessness, and
irrelevantly. Barnardine continues to shed light on the corruption of Vienna s legal system and goes as
far as painting the reader as a hypocrite.
Barnardine s character demonstrates the change in the Duke s severity through his years as a ruler by
highlighting how clueless the Duke actually is regarding Barnardine s situation. In the first scene of
act one, the Duke is portrayed as the embodiment of responsibility. As he leaves for his fake vacation,
he makes certain to leave someone to fill his position in his absence. Moreover, Angelo seems like the
right choice. The Duke s praises, Angelo s gracefulness, even his angelic name, provide the reader
with a sense of trust. Although the Duke is

To His Excellency General Washington By Phillis Wheatley
In the poem To His Excellency General Washington the author Phillis Wheatley incorporates many
themes to show the strength the new nation, America, actually has. Wheatley uses these themes to
incorporate them into a bigger idea. He uses themes of freedom, grand hero and divine rights. All of
these come together to help mold the view of George Washington as the father of our country. By
having all these themes molded into the poem based on Washington builded up to a view that he is a
patriot and a leader. All these themes are built together with freedom as the building block that helps
connect the other themes. The themes of freedom, heroism, and divine rights all build a view that

Essay Best and Worst Parts of Being Gay
In an interview recently I was asked to describe the best and the worst parts of being gay. This came as
a quite unexpected question under the given circumstances: I hoped we were all past that.
Immediately, I filled with fear and tears. Not only was I being asked to describe joy and pain, I had to
put off my own lingering shame issues to do it. Worse, I had to do it on camera and felt an immediate
Christian obligation to offer some kind of hope to the viewer. I suited up emotionally with a prayer
and my deepest breath in years. Dear God, help me to not completely fuck this up! Please speak
through me!
The camera rolled.
My immediate response to both questions, to my surprise, was the same answer my rambling went ...

Even closeted folks have not chosen certain pains, but pain remains present nevertheless. No matter
how it is dealt with, we all live with a burden of being gay. Every gay person has been affected at one
time or another by this exile.
The very culture that is deplorable by media and many religious standards is the same that will kill for
you. Even if we fight amongst ourselves, don?t mess with us as a whole. I am certain there must have
been participants of the Stonewall Riots that deeply disliked each other on some levels, but they loved
each other on much deeper levels. They knew each other?s pain, and that is one definition of love.
Love is to know what hurts someone.
Today?s first world culture seems to base cornerstones of human framework around sex and sexuality
be it straight or gay. We are defined on sexual levels every day. Recently, a straight friend of mine
finally opened his mouth and told me that he was molested on his high school football team. He has
waited almost 30 years to speak this. Every day he was probably emasculated on some level by shame,
not unparalleled to a gay closet. The difference is that the gay closet does not always have rainbows
beaming whenever we come to a point of reconciliation and finally let words happen? ?I?m sorry, you
were molested. Let me gather help to you.? The gay version of this is: ?I?m sorry that you are
depraved and demented. You will never know love. Keep quiet.?

Tomorrows Designs, Classics Today
In this Exhibition, I will be looking at Haute Couture Designers Giorgio Armani and Giambattista
Valli and their contemporary designs. These designers have shown a lot of passion for their work,
building their way up throughout the years and not losing the concepts of their designs being classic
and elegant today. What makes a design considered as a classic today is a garment that is one off
meaning it s just been designed to fit the customers needs, therefore the garments have to be all
handmade but also something wearable for few decades. That s why Parisian approaches fashion in
different combinations to tailoring fit to the body and drawing on the legacy of extravagance and
imagination in design to make it modern and classic at the same time.
To take an example of a classic would be Coco Chanel The Little Black Dress this garment was
indispensable in every woman s wardrobe and still is every woman need a black dress in their

Why We Should Not Raise Active Screen Time
In many ways I m a normal teenager. One way i m not a normal teenager is I play too many video
games. In fact after school I play 1 or 2 video games. During school if i have time I play games on my
phone. I think from all the videogames I play that my grades have dropped some not much but a little.
If we go over the amount of screen time then it could affect us later in life. If we have too much screen
time then the prefrontal cortex won t tell us if something is bad or good because the prefrontal is not
developed fully. The American Academy of Pediatrics should not raise the recommended screen time
from 2 to 4 hours. Your prefrontal cortex isn t fully developed until you re 20, so if you re online you
can make more bad decisions. The prefrontal cortex matures later than other parts of your brain so you
could make bad decisions(Scholastic). If your prefrontal cortex matures later than you will make more
bad decisions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The AAP should not raise the active screen time from 2 to 4. Neurons are another reason why we
should not raise the screen time. Neurons help us make decisions. In order for your brain to make
decisions, tiny specialized cells talk with each other through a series of neurotransmitters like a circuit
in a computer(Scholastic). If the tiny cells don t talk then we could make a bad decision online. White
matter is called myelin, and it coats the neurons and makes them communicate more effectively to
make the connection better, the axons wrap themselves in myelin through a process called
myelination(Knox). If we play too many video games or have too much screen time than are
communication could become worse and we could make more mistakes online. The neurons are
another reason why we should raise the screen time. Neurons will make us make bad decisions online
so if we raise the screen time teens will make bad

John D. Rockefeller s Role In The Oil Industry
John D. Rockefeller, last but not least, came from a fairly poor family life just like Carnegie did; his
father was a vendor while his mother was the primary housekeeper (Folsom, 1988, para. 3). After high
school, Rockefeller studied such subjects as finance and bookkeeping in college and soon put them to
work as an assistant, and eventually head, bookkeeper for a produce and commission business (The
Linux Information Project, 2006, John D. Rockefeller section, para. 1; The Rockefeller Archive
Center, 1997, para. 3). Once Rockefeller was in the oil industry, he revolutionized it by presenting new
uses for by products of the refining process (Folsom, 1988, Discovering Crude Oil section, para. 9).

Virtual Study Hall
Every end of marking period and progress check some students rush to complete all their work on
time. They may have loads of lessons due and are rushing to complete them. Sometimes there are
virtual study hall days on the ends of marking periods or progress checks though, and those let
students work on past assignments without having to work on new lessons. The thing is, they don t
have them every end of marking period or progress check. One thing I think that would make progress
checks and marking periods less stressful would be to have virtual study halls every end of marking
period/progress check, so let s look at some ways a study hall would be beneficial to students and
teachers alike!
So first of all, teachers would have a better day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time marking periods and progress checks are very stressful. But if there was a virtual
study hall day at the end of every marking period/progress check, it would make things a lot easier for
the students. Students would only have to work on past assignments and would also want to work
harder so they can have the day off. Who knows, maybe they would even want to work ahead on
lessons, too.
Finally, students would be able to complete all their work on time. It would allow students with
lessons that have piled up over time to be able to get them done. It would also mean less assignments
due. In the end it,would probably just amount to more students getting assignments finished before the
due date. Because of this study hall days would most likely help lots of students.
On the other hand, teachers have to post a certain amount of lessons each year. In order to combat this
problem, the school would just subtract off certain days from breaks. Or maybe they would have a few
more days of school before summer break. Also,it could just mean having more lessons posted on
other days. Either way, the teachers would be able to post the required number of lessons, and students
would have the needed time before important

The Effects Of Federal Mandates On Virginia
The Effects of Federal Mandates on Virginia: Americans with Disabilities Act
And the No Child Left Behind Act
Because of the Supremacy Clause, when the National government makes a new law or mandate, states
and local governments must comply Federal mandates are requirements that the national government
imposes on state and local governments. Following these requirements are often a condition for the
state or local governments to receive grants and financial support for various programs. Many of these
mandates come with money attached, but some do not. Requirements imposed on State and local
governments without the Federal government providing funds are called unfunded mandates (Losco,
Baker 53.) Virginia is affected by many Federal Mandates. Two prevalent mandates the state of
Virginia must comply with is the Americans with Disabilities Act and the No Child Left Behind Act.
Virginia has complied with these mandates by creating a system to determine if a person has a
disability, providing accommodations to those with disabilities, and Virginia has reformed its public
education system. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was put into place in 1990 to ensure
that people could not discriminate against those with disabilities. At the end of every war, there were
newly disabled American veterans that wanted improved civil rights and proper accommodations for
the disabled that needed them. In the 1960 s, veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the
Vietnam War saw

Piaget Essay
Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget was born on August9, 1896, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. At an early age he
developed an interest in biology, and by the time he had graduated from high school he had already
published a number of papers. After marrying in 1923, he had three children, whom he studied from
infancy. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of stages the levels of
development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. These four stages are labeled the
Sensorimotor stage, which occurs from birth to age two, (children experience through their senses),
the Preoporational stage, which occurs from ages two to six, (motor ... Show more content on

I remember as a child thinking that the sun and moon followed me as I took a walk. In addition, the
child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to confuse
words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a
house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the object
as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt. (Coon 107).
Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word, but to the
preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of.
Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool aged
child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child sees the
world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives. (Bee and
Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees the world as
she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool environment and
at home. For example, my daughter, Meryl, who is almost five years old, gets a phone call from her
aunt. She begins asking Meryl questions.
Instead of saying yes or no , Meryl simply nods her head.

Aerospace met its first revolution phase and they were then forced to look back on their technology
base, restructure and develop a new strategy for the company s further development. The solution
provided by Greiner is to find a strong manager who can swiftly pull the organization together. In this
case, Bombardier Aerospace differs from the companies Greiner described. To find such a manager
was easier for the former. First, Bombardier Aerospace, as part of Bombardier Inc, is not completely a

manufactories together. It is the crucial time for Bombardier Aerospace to make the right decision.
The chosen manager has to demonstrate a systemic understanding of the entire organization well
enough to be able to bring it together effectively. For sure, the technology architecture and

the Nazi massacre them. To sum up, Night and Fog shows the process of the Holocaust completely,

Sociological Imagination And Social Identity
Presumptions, based on names, alter individuals social identities and can be explained through their
relations with the main branches of sociological imagination: biography and history. Through the
analysis of sociological imagination and its two primary components, the impact of influential forces
is distinguishable in the investigation of how and why individuals perceive one another through the
assumption of each other s names. Indeed, historical and social forces affect wavering attitudes about

differences between masculinity and femininity, whereas the sociology of names examines how those
same forces influence presumptions on people based on their appellations. Essentially, cultural
expectations are attached to which gender a person has. In its intertwined relationship with names,
gender explicates how culture presently links the suffixes a to be with female names and o to be with
male names. In regards to sociological imagination s concept of history, origins of names may date
back to previous generations, which permits present suppositions of race, ethics, and beliefs.
Concerning social forces and the concept of biography, both expectations based on gender and
assumptions based on names are shaped by social interactions with family members, friends, and
strangers. Ultimately, the historical force of cultural expectations and the social force of presumptions
account for the social identities of gender and names attributes that mold people s perceptions of each
other within their

Computed Tomography Of A Hospital
The Hospital is a workplace that houses a wide variety of careers. Nurses and therapists alike find
employment in hospitals around the world and are each a part of a unique department. One department
in particular, though, is as about as diverse as they come. The medical imaging department can be
home to over 10 different modalities, some of which include X ray, Computed Tomography (CT),
Magnetic Resonance (MR), Nuclear Medicine, and Sonography. Each specialty has its own purpose
and is as vital to the hospital as the next. I am attending St. Catharine in hopes of obtaining a bachelor

the sake of the paper, however, I will concentrate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The largest of these categories is CT based diagnosis in adults, but the category that has seen the most
increase is diagnosis in pediatrics and adult screenings. The growth of CT use in children has been
mostly in pre surgical diagnosis of appendicitis and is primarily due to the decreasing in time needed
to perform a scan. The shorter exposure times reduce the need for anesthesia to stop a child from
moving while the image is being taken. A large portion of the increase in scanning for adults probably
comes from the new CT based screening programs for asymptomatic patients. The four areas
attracting the most interest are CT colonography, lung screening for smokers, cardiac screening, and

Neutron Stars Research Paper
We know of many stars that exist, but the main stars are White dwarfs, Pulsars, Neutron stars,
Magnetars, Brown dwarfs, Black Holes, Cepheid Variable stars, Supergiants, Red Giants, Novas, and
Quasars. Starting with White Dwarf, this star is usually the size of a planet and is last stage of a stars
life, when it loses all its layers from the planetary nebula. This star is very dense and especially hot
after it disables its nuclear fuel. It starts to cool done over the next billions of years. Pulsars, this star is
practically a white dwarf star, but has electromagic ration beaming out of it. There are two steady
lights (electromagic ration) that point in two opposite directions. It always seems to be blinking, but
this is just from the motion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This star is formed after a large star has had a supernova explosion. These stars are usually very dense
and will eventually produce a black hole. Magnetar is a neutron star with an extremely strong
magnetic field. Magnetar stars are highly magnetic objects, they are even stronger than Earth. It is also
100 to 1,000 times stronger than radio pulsar. Because we are unsure how this star can be as strong as
it is, theorist say it would have to rotate between 100 to 1,000 times per second. Brown Dwarfs is the
in between size of a giant planet and a large star. This star is also a very dense star, but not as dense as
the white dwarf. When a star is dying it squeezes all its matter into a tiny space, this is called a Black
Hole. Their gravity is so strong from all the matter in a tiny space that nothing, not even light can
escape. You can t detect a Black Hole with the naked eye because it s actually invisible, you need a
science telescope to identify them. The Cepheid Variable stars light brightens and dims many times. It

The Importance Of The Catholic Religion
If you belonged to a Christian denomination, you were considered a Catholic before the Reformation.
Since the Reformation, there were many Christianity beliefs introduced to the world. Roman
Catholicism is still the most popular practice in the world comparing to other beliefs. During worship,
Catholic s make their rituals more traditional, other than the Protestant s.
In the Catholic religion, there is a religious ritual believed to be judged by God called the seven
sacraments. These seven sacraments are organized into three groups: the sacraments of initiation,
consisting of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist; the sacraments of healing, consists of Penance
and Anointing of the Sick; and the sacraments of service: Holy Orders and Matrimony. It is believed
that in order to have a fulfilled Christian life, you need to touch these stages sometime in your life. As
The Holy Bible says, Jesus then said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given
you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the
bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world. Then they said to
Him, Lord, always give us this bread. (John 6:32 35)
Death in the Catholic religion is thought to be the beginning of a special journey. This special journey
starts with the judgement of the truthful loving God, who has the power to let you continue or not
continue on your special journey. A reading in The Holy Bible says, Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would
I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? (John 14:1 2) For those who can t
continue, a different kind of journey begins. It is known that the process of death to burial is a very
long and complicated process. Luckily, the deceased do not have to go through this ritual process
alone as they have the Catholic community supporting them.
It is truly unknown of what happens after death. In the Roman Catholic s view, human life is a
precious gift from God. In order to unite with God, we must be restored to wholeness by a merciful
Savior. According to The Holy Bible,

London s Social Class in Robert Louis Stevenson Strange...
London s Social Class in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
One Victorian sentiment was that a civilized individual could be determined by her/his appearance.
This notion was readily adopted by the upper classes and, among other things, helped shape their
views of the lower classes, who certainly appeared inferior to them. In regards to social mobility,
members of the upper classes may have (through personal tragedy or loss) often moved to a lower
class status, but rarely did one see an individual move up from the abysmal lower class. Although
poverty could be found almost anywhere in Victorian London (one could walk along a street of an
affluent neighborhood, turn the corner, and find oneself in an area of depravity and decay), most upper

It was two storeys high. . . and bore in every feature, the marks of prolonged and sordid negligence. . .
Tramps slouched into the recess and struck matches on the panels; children kept shop upon the steps;
the schoolboy had tried his knife on the mouldings; and for close on a generation, no one had appeared
to drive away these random visitors to repair their ravages. (5)
This is the environment in which Stevenson places his novel, in which Hyde, the exemplification of
the East Ender, thrives and commits his heinous and unspoken acts.
If Hyde represents all that Victorian London characterized as the East End, then Henry Jekyll, in turn,
represents London s West End. As Hyde and Jekyll are dual natures of the same entity, then so are
London s East and West sides. Throughout the novel, Stevenson could be using the theme of duality to
represent the growing social and economic barriers that existed between these two parts of the city
especially during the 19th century. More importantly, if the novel can be interpreted as a homoerotic
commentary of 19th century London, then Stevenson could certainly be observing the obvious
increase of homosexuals in the East End, which incited fear and indignation from their more upper
class neighbors to the west.
The reason for Jekyll creating Hyde is to release these (his own) primitive urges and to allow them to
flourish unhindered by societal laws or mores. It

Lynching In To Kill A Mockingbird
Lynching, is what the song called Strange Fruit by Abel Meeropol is about. Another meaning of the
song Strange Fruit is a haunting protest against the inhumanity of racism (Blair). Therefore, African
American bodies hanged from trees when they are sentenced to death by a jury in the 1930 s. Lastly,
many African American families suffered between the racism that the white people expressed when
they saw an African American. At last, the white people would accuse any african american they
wanted of something and that innocent person would be lynched in public. Lynching is to to put to
death, especially by hanging (Dictionary). The song Strange Fruit represents this because when an
African American was accused of something that wasn t true they would be lynched on a tree. For
example, If an African American would be accused of rape or insulting a white person, then the judge
would be on the white person s side and sentence them to death. Like for example, in the book To Kill
a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, an African American named Tom Robinson is accused of rapping a 19
year old named Mayella Ewell. Therefore, he was sent to jail instead of being lynched on a tree. The
articles that we have read over and the book are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the song Strange Fruit it represents a lot of racism. One example, of the song Strange Fruit is that
when an African American would be lynched all of the white people would smiling and be glad that

charged with the armed robbery and murder of a white factory worker, Claude Deeter, and the rape of
his companion, Mary Ball (Radio Diaries). The meaning of this quote, is that two african americans
were accused of something and lynched the next day just because of their race and skin color.
Therefore, every single white person in the town would go and watch the innocent african american

Why Jane Goodall Should Be Considered A Hero
Jane Goodall
Imagine being tested on by scientists with unsafe products, or being abused just because you are
another species. Jane Goodall stands against that. She believes that animals should have an equally
happy life as humans, and that keeping a clean environment is a way to do it. Goodall has proven
many people wrong through her research and discoveries. This is why Jane Goodall should be
considered a hero, because of the work she has done that has positively affected the environment,
animals lives, and what we have learned. Even though people had doubted her, Jane discovered new
things on chimps, proving many people wrong. When She was a kid, her father gave her a toy

Religion In Japan
Our group separated the research on Japan into sections of history, current Religious Education (RE)
in schools, demographics, and government/current policies. There were two main religions that
surrounded Japan: Shinto and Buddhism. In addition, two other religions, Confucianism and
Christianity, also contributed a considerate amount to the RE in Japan. The four major time periods
involving RE in the history of Japan were Pre Meiji, Meiji Restoration Period, wartime era, and post
WWII (Inoue 115). There were religious tensions during the Tokugawa shogunate era that which have
led up to the establishments of RE in Japan for RE did not come into place in Japan until the late 19th

Shinto is the belief of kami, spirits, deities that exist as things in nature, such as trees or streams,
watching over the humans on Earth. To the Japanese, Shinto was not particularly a religion but
something that is part of their lives, like another part of the natural world, albeit a part of enormous
power (BBC: History 1). So, in a sense, religion actually came into Japan in the 6th century, when
Buddhism, founded by Prince Shotoku (571 622), was transmitted to Japan from China (Web Japan 2).
After the birth of Buddhism into Japan, Shinto faiths and traditions took on Buddhist elements, and
later, Confucian ones (BBC: History 1). The Emperor Shomu (701 756) adopted Buddhism as the
official state religion and build a huge statute of Buddha to commemorate this occasion. Even still, the
coexistence of Buddhism and Shinto continued (Web Japan 2). Since Buddhism and Shinto were the
main beliefs in Japan, during the time in the 16th century, religious tensions with Christianity grew
when Christian missionaries tried to convert many of the Japanese (BBC: History 2). Due to such
actions of forced conversions, Christianity was seen as a threat in Japan and in which made Buddhism
and Shinto the dominant religions in the 17th century partly because an anti Christian measure forced
every Japanese person to register at a Buddhist temple and to pay for the privilege of being a Buddhist

Nature Of The Work Force
Some of the most important internal forces for change according to Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey
(2013) are:
Nature of the Work Force
Change of Managers
Deficiencies in Existing Management Structure and Procedures.
To Avoid Developing Inertia
The nature of work force varies across generations and this drives the organizations to change as well.
As an example, the new generation workers have better education, which in some cases leads to
questioning the manager s authority. Since they are working in diversity teams there are stronger
emphasis on human values. (Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey, 2013). According to Erskine (2013), the
workforce also becomes more diverse (more women and older people are involved). Their research
also shows that the younger workers tend to be more loyal to themselves, rather than the company
they are working for. This forces organizations to adapt to the rapid workforce turnover and change
their promotional policies.
Change of the managers is the other important force that causes organization to change. When the new
managers, replace the old ones, they usually come with some new ideas and work style. All these
leads to wide variety of changes from changing relationships to
changing organization structure or
workflow process as a whole (Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske, 2012).
The deficiencies in the management structure and procedures are other powerful force for
organizational change. One specific example of these deficiencies are the larger

Leadership Is A Critical And Valuable Component
Leadership is a critical and valuable component to both organizational theory and behavior as, it
assists the organization in accomplishing missions, values, goals and practices that are expected and
desired. Leadership as defined, is the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of a vision
or set of goals, (Robbins, Stephen P., Judge, Timothy A. 2011). Leadership is diverse and may look
different based on multiple factors that may include type of organization, the mission of that particular
organization, leadership traits, personalities, characteristics and behaviors, ethics, trust, and can also
look different depending on particular situations. All of these factors are influential with employee
behaviors, the production ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through this model a least preferred co worker questionnaire, (LPC) is completed by a person in
leadership and answered based on describing co workers they have dealt with based in characteristics.
Based on the LPC score, individuals would fall into either a relationship oriented type of leader, or
task oriented Leader, or a combination of the two allowing the leader to identify where they think they
place in the categories. (Robbins, Stephen P., Judge, Timothy A. 2011).
Another popular and extensively used tests are the Myer Briggs Type Indicator test. The Myers Briggs
Type Indicator (MBTI) is by far the most widely used and studied psychological test today, with over
three million people a year completing the assessment instrument (Gardner Martinko,
1996;Offermann Spiros, 2001). The MBTI test has been used for learning and development in
organizations, academic purposes, decision making, management, leadership, or simply identifying
one s personality to give guidance in career choices, (James, Michael. 2003,Gardner Martinko, 1996).
The MBTI has proven it s effectiveness in leadership through the ability for leaders to recognize their
personalities types to better assist them in training others and professional development in leadership
roles (James, Michael. 2003).

Violence In The Shawshank Redemption
Released in 1994, The Shawshank Redemption is a crime and drama filled movie under the direction
of Mr. Frank Darabont. The Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies I have watched in my

that give the movie more meaning. In the movie, you will see Andy Dufresne, Ellis Boyd Redding (or
known as Red,) Boggs, Warden Norton, Brooks Halten, and Tommy as very important characters. This
film possesses struggles of living in prison, and guilt that many inmates feel from the crime they

I would totally recommend this movie to anyone. From what I have told you, you can see exactly what
I am talking about. This movie has many hardships, but it comes along with an important message.
For some, they might think Andy and Red lost so much of their lives. For others, they think they
gained so much more by going to prison. Finally, after receiving redemption their lives continue. In
my opinion, I would have liked the movie to have kept going a little bit longer so we could see what
happens next. It would have been nice if we knew what happened next with Red and Andy. So many
questions could be asked such as: did the two of them stay out of trouble? Did the two of them ever
come back to the United States? Over all The Shawshank Redemption is a dramatic film with an
excellent cast and with exceptional themes. If anyone wanted to see a movie that will drop their jaws,
I would tell them Shawshank is the movie to watch. It truly was an amazing

  • 2. Manliness Through Camera Angle And Zoom Analysis The Change in Manliness Through Camera Angle and Zoom By April of 1945, the second World War was drawing to a close. Nazi Germany was unraveling as the allies were closing in on Berlin. However, the battle for the Pacific was still raging. The movie Hacksaw Ridge by Mel Gibson encapsulates the vicious fighting between the Americans and Japanese during the battle of Okinawa. The movie depicts the struggle Private Desmond Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) during boot camp, and battle, faced from his fellow soldiers because of his extreme religious practices. In the middle of the film, during boot camp, we can see that the platoon bully Doss in the barracks, especially Private Smitty. In this scene, through camera angle and camera zoom, Mel Gibson encapsulates the discrimination and group mentality of the platoon against Doss. After the initial assault however, and after Doss single handedly saves seventy or more soldiers, the platoon waits for Doss to finish his prayer before assaulting Hacksaw Ridge the second time. By showing this scene, Mel Gibson destroys the connotation that a man is only judged by his physicality and toughness. By showing that Desmond is the most courageous man in the platoon without being violent, it shows that religion and self belief is what a man is truly judged on. The first shot of the barracks invites the audience to see the harassment through Desmond s eyes as he is sitting on his bed reading his bible. Smitty is hanging in the background, ... • 3. Immigrants Be Illegal Immigrating should be legal because I believe we all have human rights and freedom is one of our rights so why can t we all be equal. I honestly feel like immigrants work really hard and seek for a better life, If it wasn t for immigrants crossing over here how would our countries even hold ups are basically the ones who run it. How are some of us considered legal and some illegal; aren t we all supposed to be equal? Illegal citizens usually move to other countries in search of improved living standards and higher education. It s through higher education that these people will have increased standards of living. As a result, they move in these countries so that they can get a higher education which will enable them to work in good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... America is a selfish country that thinks that they are beyond others and everyone s out to get them. They are inhospitable to others from another country because they are scared that their jobs might be taken away. A controlled, limited, flow of physically and mentally healthy immigrants who will assimilate and are capable of contributing to America with their skills and training is a good thing. The uncontrolled invasion that has been allowed to overrun our country, threaten our culture, and burden our social systems, is a national disgrace and a threat to our security. I m all for the equal opportunity so for the people who are against it what if your family were immigrants? Then they would not be against it right. I come from a family that is undocumented and that s not the only reason why I want to make people understand why Non Citizens should have the right to immigrate but because I have seen my family struggle. Families are away from each other and we can t see each other because of the law. I myself am a U.S citizen that wants to fight for the rights that Non Citizens deserve, President Trump has made this world become hell Trump has blamed undocumented immigrants for taking American jobs, committing violent crimes and milking US taxpayers. • 4. Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Stages Erikson s Psychosocial Stages Erik Erikson discussed psychosocial stages, his theory however was predicated upon Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages. According to Erikson, the ego develops as it prosperously resolves crises that are distinctly gregarious in nature. These involve establishing a sense of confide in others, developing a sense of identity in society, and availing the next generation prepare for the future. Erikson proposed a lifespan model of developing , taking in five stages up to the age of 18 old age and three further levels beyond, well into adulthood. Erikson suggests that there is still plenty of room for continued emergence and development throughout one s life. Erikson put a great mountain of stress on the adolescent time period , feeling it was a crucial stage for developing a person s identity. The outcome of this maturation timetable is a wide and integrated set of life skills and abilities that function together within the autonomous individual. However, instead of focusing on sexual development (like Freud), he was interested in how children socialize and how this affects their sense of self. Psychosocial Stages Erikson s (1959) theory of psychosocial development has eight distinct stages. 1. Trust vs. Mistrust Erikson s first psychosocial crisis occurs during the first year of life, during this stage the infant is uncertain about the world in which they live. To resolution these feelings of uncertainty the baby looks towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What would you propose as a global definition of terrorism? The challenges experienced at the international level with regard to arriving at a consensus about the definition of terrorism are based on the fact that the term raises political and emotional tensions. However, the international community through the United Nations has embraced various sectorial conventions that describe and criminalize several types of terrorist activities. Moreover, the general assembly of the UN has spoken against terrorist activities through diverse political definitions of terrorism. • 6. Pope Francis Influence On March 13, 2013 white smoke ushered in a new era within the Roman Catholic Church. For the first time in its history, a Pope from the Americas was chosen to lead. It was expected that the newly elected American Pope, who called himself Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, would help restore the Catholic Church s reputation, reform the clerical bureaucracy, and reinvigorate Catholic participation. In the first few months of his papacy, that is exactly what he did. Pope Francis did away with ornate and rigid traditions of previous popes. He restructured core Vatican institutions such as the clerical hierarchy and the banking system, in order to drive out corruption. His messages of simplicity and mercy were engrained in unselfish gestures, such as the washing of offenders feet, (something) , and (something), that helped bring Catholics back into the fold. Yet, for some Catholics, like Maureen Dowd, Pope Francis efforts have not changed the church enough. Summary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In her piece, Dowd spoke against Pope Francis lack of support for a group of American nuns who had publically endorsed liberal legislation (such as contraception, gay rights and abortion as well as a feminization of God) that contradicted long held church teachings. Dowd questioned how Pope Francis could confess to believe in social justice and helping the poor when he failed to prevent orthodox clergy from chastising nuns who held beliefs that would seemingly align with the Pope s own motto of Who am I to judge . • 7. Similarities Between The Garden Of Eden And The Tabernacle Similarities Between the Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Throughout the Old Testament, the tabernacle was a centerfold of worshiping God for the Israelite people. This was where believers could congregate to seek peace, sing praises, and make animal sacrifices to God. The tabernacle was also a resting place for God to come down from Heaven and dwell with His children. Similarly, the Garden of Eden was once a perfect creation for God to have an earthly dwelling place to be with Adam and Eve. That, until the age old story of sin and deception came into place. The Garden of Eden was a perfect model of how God designed a place of worship to be, that is why He provided Moses with specific instructions of how the tabernacle should be built as a replica of the garden. The tabernacle stands as a symbolic model of the original creation the Garden of Eden, through its reproduction of several of the garden s well known features, such as the cherubim guarding the entrance, the Tree of Life, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the direction of the Garden facing east. The tabernacle s recreation of the cherubim guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden is in its placement of these angelic beings sitting above and protecting the sacred Ark of the Covenant. The ark was an intricately decorated wooden box holding a copy of the Ten Commandments, symbolizing the living presence of God among the people. The ark, like Eden, was a sacred place where only God could dwell and sin may never be present. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, cherubim were placed at the entrance of the Garden to shield His perfect creation from sin. In doing so, He made sure that the two would not find the entrance again, ( Guarding the Gate of Eden. ). Likewise, to protect the holiness of the ark, God ordered the Israelites to create cherubim to protect the ark from sin intruding upon its presence. Lisa Schachter states in her article, The Garden of Eden as God s First Sanctuary, that in both contexts [the cherubim] are the guardians of both the literal and figurative Tree of Life discussed in the story of creation. God did not want His perfect creation to become corrupted again, so He placed cherubim on both sides of the ark as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Religion Of The 20th Century The religion was first founded in New York in 1844 by William Miller. Miller started out being a deist, but he converted and became a baptist preacher. Finally creating his own religion, and his followers were known as Millerites. Later in 1854, J.N. Andrews, Miller, Joseph Bates, and Ellen G. and James Springer White created the official Seventh Day Adventist Church. The official name of Seventh Day Adventist was not officially put into place until 1863 at the first conference and formation of the Seventh Day Adventist(SDA) Church on May 21. By the early 1870 s SDA began to send missionaries to Europe and Australia. In 1849, the first SDA newspaper was printed in Middletown, Connecticut. The following year two more SDA related newspapers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The people that are considered unworthy get destroyed, and the people that pass help Jesus create a heaven on earth and everyone lives there in peace forever. The people that were saved are considered God like at that point. The SDAs believe that the first covenant made between the people and God was essentially a covenant of death. They believe we owe God our lives because he did for us. One obtains happiness by being chosen to live on the newly created planet during the second resurrection. The only way to get chosen and live a perfect life is to follow every commandment word for word. The SDAs believe that the only day that is to be rested upon is Saturday. This is because in the creation story God rested on the seventh day. They believe just as Catholics that Abortions is wrong. It is impossible for us to be God. This is because we are created in his image and likeness, but we are not as powerful as God. He was the first, therefore, he knows better than us. The United States and Europe have the biggest population of Seventh Day Adventists in the world. The next largest population is in Asia and South America. By learning about this religion, it helps one to be able to better defend their faith, and understand where they have gone wrong in their life. It also helps one be able to better understand where someone of that faith is coming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Health Of The Population Health The population health factors is a subject of extensive discussion within American health care system, nonetheless, few comprehend the bearing to modern health care environment. An array of factors like personal, social, economic, and environment issues influence and determines the health of individual and population, acting in various combination (Knickman Kovner, 2015). These determinants of health, known as population health determinants generally include genetics, access to health care, individual behavior, social determinant, physical environment (Knickman Kovner, 2015). Determinant factors are fundamental to the prevention of disease, illness, and injury because it illustrates health dispositions on why some individual or population are in better health than another counterpart. HIV/AID is the population health issue I selected. About 1.2 million of people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and approximately 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their infection. • 10. The Character Of Barnardine In Measure For Measure By... At first glance, it seems like the character of Barnardine in Measure for Measure is not an important one. Unlike the main characters of the play, Barnardine has no more than 13 lines, and it does not seem like his existence drives the play in any way. Barnardine provides a comedic break in a comedy that seems more like a tragedy, and without further analysis, it does not seem like the character has much to offer. However, in many ways, Barnardine is the key character in the play. Through Barnardine and some of his parallaxes with Claudio, the reader dives into the flaws in the Duke s character that until act 4 seems almost perfect. The Duke is presented as responsible, all knowing, and incredibly smart. However, Barnardine highlights the Duke s clumsiness, powerlessness, and irrelevantly. Barnardine continues to shed light on the corruption of Vienna s legal system and goes as far as painting the reader as a hypocrite. Barnardine s character demonstrates the change in the Duke s severity through his years as a ruler by highlighting how clueless the Duke actually is regarding Barnardine s situation. In the first scene of act one, the Duke is portrayed as the embodiment of responsibility. As he leaves for his fake vacation, he makes certain to leave someone to fill his position in his absence. Moreover, Angelo seems like the right choice. The Duke s praises, Angelo s gracefulness, even his angelic name, provide the reader with a sense of trust. Although the Duke is ... This came as a quite unexpected question under the given circumstances: I hoped we were all past that. Immediately, I filled with fear and tears. Not only was I being asked to describe joy and pain, I had to put off my own lingering shame issues to do it. Worse, I had to do it on camera and felt an immediate Christian obligation to offer some kind of hope to the viewer. I suited up emotionally with a prayer and my deepest breath in years. I am certain there must have been participants of the Stonewall Riots that deeply disliked each other on some levels, but they loved each other on much deeper levels. They knew each other?s pain, and that is one definition of love. Love is to know what hurts someone. Today?s first world culture seems to base cornerstones of human framework around sex and sexuality be it straight or gay. We are defined on sexual levels every day. Following these requirements are often a condition for the state or local governments to receive grants and financial support for various programs. Many of these mandates come with money attached, but some do not. Requirements imposed on State and local governments without the Federal government providing funds are called unfunded mandates (Losco, Baker 53.) Virginia is affected by many Federal Mandates. Virginia has complied with these mandates by creating a system to determine if a person has a disability, providing accommodations to those with disabilities, and Virginia has reformed its public education system. At an early age he developed an interest in biology, and by the time he had graduated from high school he had already published a number of papers. After marrying in 1923, he had three children, whom he studied from infancy. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of stages the levels of development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. In addition, the child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to confuse words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the object as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt. (Coon 107). Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word, but to the preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of. Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool aged child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child sees the world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives. (Bee and Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees the world as she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool environment and at home. Since the Reformation, there were many Christianity beliefs introduced to the world. Roman Catholicism is still the most popular practice in the world comparing to other beliefs. During worship, Catholic s make their rituals more traditional, other than the Protestant s. In the Catholic religion, there is a religious ritual believed to be judged by God called the seven sacraments. These seven sacraments are organized into three groups: the sacraments of initiation, consisting of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist; the sacraments of healing, consists of Penance and Anointing of the Sick; and the sacraments of service: Holy Orders and Matrimony. It is believed that in order to have a fulfilled Christian life, you need to touch these stages sometime in your life. As The Holy Bible says, Jesus then said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world. Then they said to Him, Lord, always give us this bread. (John 6:32 35) Death in the Catholic religion is thought to be the beginning of a special journey. This special journey starts with the judgement of the truthful loving God, who has the power to let you continue or not continue on your special journey. A reading in The Holy Bible says, Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? (John 14:1 2) For those who can t continue, a different kind of journey begins. It is known that the process of death to burial is a very long and complicated process. Luckily, the deceased do not have to go through this ritual process alone as they have the Catholic community supporting them. It is truly unknown of what happens after death. London s Social Class in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde One Victorian sentiment was that a civilized individual could be determined by her/his appearance. This notion was readily adopted by the upper classes and, among other things, helped shape their views of the lower classes, who certainly appeared inferior to them. In regards to social mobility, members of the upper classes may have (through personal tragedy or loss) often moved to a lower class status, but rarely did one see an individual move up from the abysmal lower class. (5) This is the environment in which Stevenson places his novel, in which Hyde, the exemplification of the East Ender, thrives and commits his heinous and unspoken acts. If Hyde represents all that Victorian London characterized as the East End, then Henry Jekyll, in turn, represents London s West End. As Hyde and Jekyll are dual natures of the same entity, then so are London s East and West sides. Throughout the novel, Stevenson could be using the theme of duality to represent the growing social and economic barriers that existed between these two parts of the city especially during the 19th century. More importantly, if the novel can be interpreted as a homoerotic commentary of 19th century London, then Stevenson could certainly be observing the obvious increase of homosexuals in the East End, which incited fear and indignation from their more upper class neighbors to the west. • 34. Religion In Japan Our group separated the research on Japan into sections of history, current Religious Education (RE) in schools, demographics, and government/current policies. There were two main religions that surrounded Japan: Shinto and Buddhism. In addition, two other religions, Confucianism and Christianity, also contributed a considerate amount to the RE in Japan. The four major time periods involving RE in the history of Japan were Pre Meiji, Meiji Restoration Period, wartime era, and post WWII (Inoue 115). To the Japanese, Shinto was not particularly a religion but something that is part of their lives, like another part of the natural world, albeit a part of enormous power (BBC: History 1). So, in a sense, religion actually came into Japan in the 6th century, when Buddhism, founded by Prince Shotoku (571 622), was transmitted to Japan from China (Web Japan 2). After the birth of Buddhism into Japan, Shinto faiths and traditions took on Buddhist elements, and later, Confucian ones (BBC: History 1). The Emperor Shomu (701 756) adopted Buddhism as the official state religion and build a huge statute of Buddha to commemorate this occasion. Even still, the coexistence of Buddhism and Shinto continued (Web Japan 2). Since Buddhism and Shinto were the main beliefs in Japan, during the time in the 16th century, religious tensions with Christianity grew when Christian missionaries tried to convert many of the Japanese (BBC: History 2). Due to such actions of forced conversions, Christianity was seen as a threat in Japan and in which made Buddhism and Shinto the dominant religions in the 17th century partly because an anti Christian measure forced every Japanese person to register at a Buddhist temple and to pay for the privilege of being a Buddhist (BBC: History ... • 35. Nature Of The Work Force Some of the most important internal forces for change according to Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey (2013) are: Nature of the Work Force Change of Managers Deficiencies in Existing Management Structure and Procedures. To Avoid Developing Inertia The nature of work force varies across generations and this drives the organizations to change as well. As an example, the new generation workers have better education, which in some cases leads to questioning the manager s authority. Since they are working in diversity teams there are stronger emphasis on human values. (Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey, 2013). According to Erskine (2013), the workforce also becomes more diverse (more women and older people are involved). Their research also shows that the younger workers tend to be more loyal to themselves, rather than the company they are working for. This forces organizations to adapt to the rapid workforce turnover and change their promotional policies. Change of the managers is the other important force that causes organization to change. When the new managers, replace the old ones, they usually come with some new ideas and work style. All these leads to wide variety of changes from changing relationships to changing organization structure or workflow process as a whole (Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske, 2012). The deficiencies in the management structure and procedures are other powerful force for organizational change. One specific example of these deficiencies are the larger ... Through this model a least preferred co worker questionnaire, (LPC) is completed by a person in leadership and answered based on describing co workers they have dealt with based in characteristics. (Robbins, Stephen P., Judge, Timothy A. 2011). Another popular and extensively used tests are the Myer Briggs Type Indicator test. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is by far the most widely used and studied psychological test today, with over three million people a year completing the assessment instrument (Gardner Martinko, 1996;Offermann Spiros, 2001). The MBTI test has been used for learning and development in organizations, academic purposes, decision making, management, leadership, or simply identifying one s personality to give guidance in career choices, (James, Michael. 2003,Gardner Martinko, 1996). The MBTI has proven it s effectiveness in leadership through the ability for leaders to recognize their personalities types to better assist them in training others and professional development in leadership roles (James, Michael. 2003). The Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies I have watched in my 19 years of life. This exceptional movie displays many life lessons throughout with multiple themes that give the movie more meaning. In the movie, you will see Andy Dufresne, Ellis Boyd Redding (or known as Red,) Boggs, Warden Norton, Brooks Halten, and Tommy as very important characters. This film possesses struggles of living in prison, and guilt that many inmates feel from the crime they pursued. Most importantly, you will see friendships formed that will last a lifetime. Hope and time are all the inmates have; and some of them don t have the hope ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would totally recommend this movie to anyone. From what I have told you, you can see exactly what I am talking about. This movie has many hardships, but it comes along with an important message. For some, they might think Andy and Red lost so much of their lives. For others, they think they gained so much more by going to prison. Finally, after receiving redemption their lives continue. In my opinion, I would have liked the movie to have kept going a little bit longer so we could see what happens next. It would have been nice if we knew what happened next with Red and Andy. So many questions could be asked such as: did the two of them stay out of trouble? Did the two of them ever come back to the United States? Over all The Shawshank Redemption is a dramatic film with an excellent cast and with exceptional themes. If anyone wanted to see a movie that will drop their jaws, I would tell them Shawshank is the movie to watch. It truly was an amazing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
