Symptoms And Treatment Of Ptsd Veterans
It is evident that reforms are necessary within the VA system and society in regards to PTSD and
veterans. How can the American veterans be better taken care of? I will focus on the following four
specific issues that are in need of reform,
1. How can wait times be decreased for veterans seeking mental health treatment?
2. How can the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans be eliminated?
3. How can veterans receive immediate assistance in times of crisis?
4. How can we ensure that diagnosed PTSD veterans will continue treatment after receiving full
monetary compensation?
Focusing on these research questions, I propose to conduct research on decreasing wait times for
PTSD related appointments, reducing, or eliminating, the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans,
providing a way for veterans to receive immediate PTSD crisis help, and a way to ensure that veterans
diagnosed with PTSD continue treatment.
Veterans often experience long wait times to schedule an appointment for PTSD. Through additional
research I have found that according to a study in 2003 by the American Legion, of approximately
300,000 veterans waiting for health care, over half of them had been waiting over eight months for an
appointment (American Legion, 2013). I further researched how many VA facilities in the United
States offer specialized treatment for PTSD. In all 50 states, and Washington, DC, there are a total of
139 facilities (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015). I propose to conduct a telephone

I Am Hard-Personal Narrative
I VE LEARNED Due to my comparatively insignificant age, I haven t learned many Oprah worthy
lessons in my life. Although I am young, I feel that a certain lesson in particular has been key to my
small but important successes. I ve learned that working hard will demand your respect no matter who
you are. I continue to apply this life long lesson on the wrestling mats with my coaches at every meet,
practice, and free time.
It was the Bend City Championships (wrestling). My palms were sweaty, my face tomato red, and my
heart was pounding, due to the 7 testosterone filled, middle school boys, in my bracket. Luckily, I had

I began to bounce eagerly (to warm up your body before a match) as my eyes darted from my giggling
opponent Lazarus, to my feet. My coaches from both teams each came by with a small pep talk and
left me to focus on my own.
Charli and Lazarus! our future ref shouted impatiently.
Do we have a Charli and Lasarus here? he said with a roll of his eyes.
I m here I said with as much confidence as I could mustar.
Here spit Lazarus looking back at his snake like buddy s.
You know the drill, shake hands I shook hands as respectful as I could knowing that anyone with
enough guts to set foot on any wrestling mat at least deserves a genuine handshake. I readied myself.
Twweeeeetttt! the whistle blow furiously and we were off. There was a quick glance into eachothers
eyes and just 27 seconds later somebody was slugging off the mat in tears and let me just say it wasn t
me. Although it was a tough match for him, I believe that he, along with his friends, had gained a new
level of respect for me that day and will keep that for the rest of your life s.
Walking away from this experience I had learned that working hard will demand your respect no

A Discussion Of Faith Rose Surrounding The World Trade Center
After the Brussels massacre that took place on March 22nd, a question of faith rose surrounding the
sanctity of the Islamic faith. In an article meant to expose answers to this very question John Kasich
brings up a point that when people claim France is at war with Islam, they actually should be referring
to radical Islam. This point pulled further controversy as those who were not Islamic began to wonder
if the faith condoned suicide bombings in the name of expelling infidels and bringing the coming of
the Caliphate. Another case mentioned in the same article details the prosecution of the Blind Sheikh,
whose terrorist group attempted to bring down the World Trade Center back in 1993. While the U.S.
government had attempted to paint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muslim conquests lasted from 622 AD to 750 AD, and would continue to move forward until the 18th
century. These expansions of religion and politics were led by dynasties of Caliphs , beginning with
the prophet Muhammad and then the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs. Islam spread from Mecca to
Medina and furthered into central Asia, North Africa, Spain, and parts of the old Byzantine and
Persian empires. Despite this, there is a large misunderstanding about the spread of Islam during this
period of time and why the expansion of the Catholic Church after the Dark Ages instead takes
precedence in Western Europe. The halt of the expansion of Islamic rule in Europe can be linked back
to the Battle of Tours back in 733 AD. This battle was meant to be the Islamic Empires first expansion
into Europe nearing the end of the period called the Dark Ages in European history. This resulted in
the expansion of the early modern Catholic Church in Europe during the Renaissance and the
misunderstanding of Islamic politics. The Prophet Muhammad s large influences over the foundations
of Islam helped shape its empire into a powerful militant group that would result in the unification of
Arabia in 622 AD . From there, Muhammad would be looked to by many as both a religious prophet
and a competent military leader. Conquests made my Muhammad lasted from 622 CE to

College Campus Rape Culture
Certain things are a given about college life. New opportunities, new friends, new living situations,
but also, new dangers. No matter what college, what area, whether it is a notorious party school or not,
there is always a danger that comes with placing hormonal youths in close contact with drugs, alcohol,
and each other. Yet, few parents are afraid for the safety their young sons. Many parents fear for the
safety of their daughters, in an environment where drugs and alcohol are the norm. The college party
culture has been renowned for placing shame and blame on young girls who are the victims of rape
and sexual assault. So, I created a model for a poster which protests this campus, and also nationwide
rape culture.
The first element of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not misandry, it is just historical fact. A 1997 U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics study showed
that 91% of rape victims are female... and 99% of arrestees for rape are male. Many rapes are
underreported or played down as mistakes , lapses in judgement , etc. This excusing of rape is central
to rape culture, especially that of campus rape. This trend can be seen in the way that Brock Turner s
father tried to explain away his son s rape of the Stanford rape victim, as 20 minutes of action out of
his 20 plus years of life. This could be the understatement of the year! Those 20 minutes of action
made a huge and permanent impact on the victim, and that act should not be trivialized. Unfortunately
this is characteristic of male rape culture. This concept of a man taking what he wants, when he wants
is so toxic, yet so inherent to rae culture. That is why I chose to have the male sign completely merge
with the letter U . This macho man trope is so overused that it is basically a given. Therefore, my use
of the male sign and its placement have deliberate meanings that symbolize the prevalence of male
rapists and sympathizers (such as Brock Turner s father), and how closely they are woven into modern
rape

Departmentalization Essay
For traditional organization structures, departmentalization means that how to group work positions
into formal teams or departments that are linked together in a coordinated way (Victoria management
school, 2010, p. 272). These decisions have three types of organizational structure: functional,
divisional, matrix and hybrid structures. The definition of functional structure is that making the
groups which get the people who have the similar skills together for the similar tasks (Schermerhorn,
Davidson, Poole, Woods, Simon McBarron, 2014). The advantages of functional: Functional structure
provides a variety of benefits to orgnisations. Fist of all, a functional structure supports efficient
resource use. It is easy for staff to shift between projects from the same department. It is a small kiwi
restaurant. Our human resource, money and material are limited, so using functional structure will
help us save money and the efficiency of resources can be maximized. Secondly, it also encourages
the development of expertise of the members within function. For example, as marketing director of
our restaurant, you might develop specialized skill in advertising, market researching and planning.
Employees clearly know what they should do and their clear career path within function. On the other
hand, Staffers have the opportunity to move up within their functional areas, which they stay long
term. The company gets the advantage of their expertise and company knowledge over time.

Rory Deveaux s The Name Of The Star
The Name of the Star
The Name of the Star follows Rory Deveaux, an American teenager from Louisiana as she attends her
senior year at a London boarding school. Her arrival in England coincides with the outset of a series of
gruesome murders by what seems to be a Jack the Ripper copycat. As the bodies pile up, Rippermania
spreads throughout England and Rory gets stuck in the middle of it all when she becomes a witness
after seeing a mysterious man on school grounds. A man no one else has seen and who becomes the
prime suspect of the crimes. As the plot and mystery unfolds, Rory finds herself in great danger and
part of a group of people that are, apparently, the secret ghost police of London.

Blood and Iron
Blood and Iron The Main Factors in the Unification of Germany
The unification of Germany was not just a matter of the signing a document stating that the many
states had become one country. There were problems such as varying languages, currencies, and
ethnic minorities to name a few. In the end however one country, Germany was the states as one but
how was it unified? Coal and iron refers to economic ties unifying Germany and blood and iron refers
to the unification of Germany through force. The role of Bismarck in the unification of Germany was
also a key factor however, if he was to be put in one category for having unified Germany coal and

Many of the smaller surrounding states saw the successes of the customs union and so decided to join
themselves. From then on many large states joined. The customs union became known as the
Zollverein.
The Zollverein was a great success and was a large step to the unification of Germany. The systems of
weights and measures was homogenised within the states of the Zollverein. The major differences
between the states were now becoming not so apparent. Due to the abolition of customs barriers and
the currency no longer varying from each state trade increased between the countries. This did not
occur however without the help of the railways. Lines were extended throughout the states of the
Zollverein. Because of this, delegates were able to travel quickly and efficiently to other states to
agree trade treaties. Communication between the states increased greatly and now not only were
economic barriers broken down but also physical ones. Communication to enable unity increased
greatly through the railways. One economist described the railway network as the firm girdle around
the loins of Germany binding her limbs together into a forceful and powerful body .
The Zollverein also aided in the unification of Germany as it increased feelings of one country in other
words, nationalism. The railways helped with the spread of German press. Now

Volcano Research Paper
Volcanoes can be found throughout the entire world and are formed when there is a rupture in the
mantle of the Earth s crust. This effect allows the output of volcanic lava, ash, and various types of
gases. These tectonic plate breaks are normal, the planet Earth is divided into 17 tectonic plates and
consistently move against each other forming shifts from low to high intensity. It can cause
displacement of earth or water.
The volcanoes are located where there is a divergence or convergence in the tectonic plates and bring
their lava from the deepest of the terrestrial mantle. The materials and explosions of these ginates
represent a constant risk in the places inhabited by the human being, nevertheless the people ususually
live in these areas no matter the risk. On the other hand the volcanos can change the geology of an
impressive form, or to cool the temperature of the earth, or to darken the sky. The scientific
community increases its efforts to try to understand better what happens in volcanoes, however it is
impossible to predict these conditions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Fundamental Economic Principles
Part 1 Scarcity When humans moved from hunter/gatherer societies to villages and then cities, a
division of labor occurred. Some people became producers of food, some processors, some the
ancillary goods and services that are necessary for humans to live together. They found that sometimes
there was a surplus of goods, and sometimes a lack of goods. This lack of goods is called the scarcity
principle, and it is the fundamental economic principle of needing (or wanting) goods in a world that
has limited resources. It means that in society, there will almost always be situations in which there are
insufficient resources to fulfill all human wants and needs. Of course this also implies that at any
given time, not all individual or group goals can be provided, which results in tradeoffs and
substitutions. If we think about scarcity as a principle, then the idea of having scarce resources
becomes a fundamental principle of what we call economics really the science of the relationship
between production, goods and services, and the amounts we have of each. In any given group
(society) there are needs for resources. Resources are the way we make products or turn raw products
into something useful (agriculture). Resources might be land, raw materials like ores, etc. Then human
resources are necessary to turn these raw recourses into something useful; metal, flour from grain,
wine or beer from grain as well, meat prepared for human consumption, etc. Often these particular

The Reinforcement of Racial Hierarchies in Morrison s The...
Race and racial hierarchies are reinforced through the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white
aesthetic and through the perceptions associated with physical characteristics. In The Bluest Eye, Toni
Morrison first illustrates the reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a
predominant, societal white aesthetic by recounting passages from the Dick and Jane books, a
standardization of family life. Next, The Black Arts Movement by Larry Neal demonstrates the
reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a white aesthetic by discussing how
Black culture, including Black art, is in danger if the white aesthetic is accepted by Black artists.

These books, with their simplistic two and three word sentences, were widely used to teach all
children how to read and suggested that the lifestyle of Dick and Jane was typical and standard. But,
the Dick and Jane lifestyle was certainly not the typical lifestyle for Claudia, Pecola or either of their
families. So, that lifestyle was presumed to be the typical white lifestyle. Furthermore, the lifestyle of
Dick and Jane was obviously viewed as superior to a sad, broken, difficult family life, similar to what
Claudia and Pecola were accustomed, so white lifestyles in general were viewed as superior.
Consequently, exposure to this white aesthetic, especially at an early age, would create, proliferate and
reinforce a racial hierarchy.
In The Black Arts Movement, Larry Neal also discusses how a racial hierarchy is reinforced through
the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white aesthetic. Neal says that, there are in fact and in
spirit two Americas one black, one white. (Neal 2039). Further, Neal discusses the danger of not
counteracting the white way of thinking, trumpeting the need for a Black aesthetic. The motive behind
the Black aesthetic is the destruction of the white thing, the destruction of white ideas, and white ways
of looking at the world. (Neal 2040). Neal s adamancy concerning the need for a Black aesthetic
confirms his belief in the existence and power of a predominant, societal, white

Blackberry By Sylvia Plath Essay
Sylvia Plath s poem, Blackberrying, at first glance, suggests that the message of the poem will be
about picking blackberries. However, the poem s message is much deeper and far more complex than
that alone. By the use of expressive, colorful, and detailed imagery and language, parallels between
blackberries and Plath are made since it is evident that Plath is not only the speaker of the poem but
the only human character in the story, as well. Within these parallels, Blackberrying dramatizes
several areas of life and death such as in the emotions of loneliness and hopelessness, the struggle in
dealing with a void, as well as life s cycles and milestones. To begin with, there are seven different
colors that Plath mentions throughout the poem which add to its expressive, obviously colorful, and
detailed imagery and language. It is important to be aware of each color as they each add meaning and
message to the parallels. These colors are red blue, green, black, orange, blue green, pewter, and
white. One example of how one of these colors adds meaning and message to a parallel is, in the
poem, the dark, deep color of the blackberry is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

distinct paths in Plath s life, as well as a specific milestone that she has reached while traveling to her
ultimate destination, the sea. Each turn and milestone signifies an important decision in which Plath
had to make in her life, which would direct her path from that point forward. Not only that, but as she
reaches each turn and bend in the road, she notices that the road continues to move forward, a parallel
that is drawn symbolizing that life, too, always moves forward, no matter

In 2009 the American patriot friend s network claimed that the landings helped the U.S. government

as the U.S. ended its involvement with the war. It is proven that the moon landings was in no relation
to the end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Many conspiracies claim that the landings did not happen
and that NASA employees have lied or say that the landings did happen but not in the way that has

The Jeffersonian Republicans And Federalists Essay
By 1817 the great American experiment was in full swing. America was developing into an effective
democratic nation. However as the democracy continued to grow, two opposing political parties
developed, the Jeffersonian Republicans and the Federalists. The Jeffersonian Republicans believed in
strong state governments, a weak central government, and a strict interpretation of the Constitution.
The Federalists saw it differently. They opted for a powerful central government with weaker state
governments, and a loose interpretation of the Constitution. The seemingly solid divide between
Federalist and Republican would begin to blur during the presidencies of Thomas Jefferson and James
Madison. For, neither Republican president was able lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As his presidency continued Jefferson began drifting further away from the original ideals of the
Republican Party. His decisions no longer reflected a strict interpretation of the Constitution, but
resembled the loose construction of the Constitution employed by the Federalists. When he made the
decision to purchase the Louisiana Territory in 1803, effectively doubling the territory of the USA, he
loosely interpreted the Constitution like that of a federalist by working around the Constitution. No
where did the Constitution state that the president had the power to make such a purchase, but by
using the necessary and proper clause as a loop pole he made the purchase. He went against his party
doctrine of strict interpretation in order to expand American domain and to protect the US from the
threat of a resurgent France. Another show of Republican movement away from being strict
constructionist was when Jefferson passed The Embargo Act of 1807, which banned all foreign
exports. Supported by Document C, the Embargo Act was extremely unpopular with the American
public. No where in the listing of the presidential powers did it state that a law such as the Embargo
Act could be passed. When Jefferson passed this Act,

Gender Roles In The Movie Gidget
Gidget: Breaking Waves and Gender Role Gidget, a 1959 film about a young girl who falls in love
with surfing, helped establish a prominent foundation for surfing in California. To some, the film may
simply be a feel good story about surfing and American teen culture. To others, it s about breaking
stereotypical gender roles and their associated societal norms. The film released soon after World War
II and the subsequent baby boom. This was a time with gave Americans a fresh new look on life, and a
time when many young adults and teens had plenty of leisure time. Gidget also marked the end of an
era and the start of a new one. Surfing and Gidget play a monumental role in shaping this new era by
defying gender roles and leaving a lasting imprint on society. In 1950 s society, both women and men
had their place. Although men may have more opportunities and differentiation than women, they both
still have their places. Generally, a woman s literal place is in the household, often the kitchen to be
more exact. The typical housewife wears a conservative dress, heels, pearls, and possibly an apron
depending on whether they are on duty or not. This standard lifestyle of women is portrayed well
through Gidget s mother. Gidget, however, does not seem to want to follow in the footsteps of her
mother in this jail cell of a stereotypical matriarchal role. Instead of wiping cake batter off her fingers,
Gidget would rather wipe sand off her feet after a long day of surfing. While

Nature In Frankenstein Research Paper
Art in the Romantic era was dominated by emotion rather than industrial personal values. Due to the
dehumanizing work that was done in factories the artists of the time began to stress the emotions in
order to evoke emotion from the soulless factory workers. This is evident in the music of the era with
the rises and falls. Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner was one of the major compositions of this time.
Furthermore, nature was being corrupted by the industrial revolution of the time and therefore it was
placed on a pedestal. Authors and painters in this era exhibited an intense love for nature.
Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, exhibits particular praise of nature and insight into the views of
authors at the time. Wagner composed Ride of the Valkyries

The For Intellectual Property Law Essay
Before college, when I heard about lawyers I only ever thought of one thing, the bar exam, and how
awful it must be to prepare and take such a test. Now, moving steadily through the senior year of my
undergraduate degree, my aspirations are quite different than what they were before college. With my
changing goals, being a lawyer is now a profession that I wish to be a part of in the not too distant
future. Specifically, I am aspiring to work in Intellectual Property Law. This form of law deals with
protecting tangible and intangible creations of clients. These tangible and intangible creations range
from inventions to symbols and often require being an expert in specific fields, such as industries, the
arts, or science (Wilson, 2016).
In order to assess a potential employee s attributes, a future employer will administer pre employment
screenings where the person s knowledge, skills, and abilities will be assessed in order to determine
their effectiveness for Intellectual Property Law.
In order to perform effectively being a lawyer specializing in Intellectual Property Law, will require
that I first graduate with a four year degree. The degree with which one takes is not specific, in fact,
law schools admit individuals with degrees from almost every field of study
(LearnHowToBecome.org, 2016). The next step is going through law school which typically takes
three years. While at law school, studying a curriculum specific to Intellectual Property Law would be

Health Care Industry Analysis
Achieving the goal of providing safer, quality, improved, proportionate, and greater cost efficiency to

Adverse outcomes are not normal in nuclear power and aviation because the managing of risk is so
good, but in health care, they are prevalent. Several adverse events are often hidden, either on purpose,
or from the lack of informing the appropriate personnel. Whereas, some mistakes are not obvious due
to the poor health of the patient and are not uncovered until an investigation has taken place, which is
not a typical incidence. Due to the ordinary attainment of disease, it makes it difficult to determine if
the safety outcomes were due to negligent care or the natural course of the disease.
Aviation and the making of nuclear power differ dramatically from the health care industry as in how
to maintain or repair a failed system. As Dr. Gaba (2013) noted, We do not design or construct the
units we work on: human beings nor are we given an instruction manual for them. Another difference
is there is only a temporary shutdown in aviation and nuclear power if an adverse event happens, but
in health care it can take up to ten years for professional practice guidelines to be implemented and the
introduction of lifesaving drugs and medical devices can be delayed pending approval from the

Mutual Engagement In The Marine Corps
At 18, I enlisted in the Marine Corps. In basic training, I was introduced to a new way of speaking,
and of thinking. This new language, integral to the transformation of my thought practices,
transformed me, from a civilian to a Marine. My experiences in the Marines confirm the idea of
linguistic relativity, proposed in the Sapir Whorf Hypothesis, and served as my initiation into the
Marine Corp s Community of Practice.
During the three months spent in boot camp, recruits learned an entirely new language. From the
moment of arrival on Parris Island, we were not allowed to use pronouns. The words I, you, we, or
me, were strictly forbidden. Uttering one of these pronouns inevitably led to I.P.T, the acronym for

Each branch, each adopts its own unique terminology, its own shared repertoire. That shared repertoire
ties Marines together all over the world. When I go on to a military base today, I slip right back into

Even though I am usually on Navy and Air Force bases, the retirees in them are from various
branches. I might say to a man I ve met on base, So what was your M.O.S.? I was a 3381. I was TAD

Effects Of The Battle Of Waterloo
The Battle of Waterloo and its Effect on Today s Artillery
Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the world s greatest military strategists, led the French at the Battle of
Waterloo. During his time as a General, even in defeat, his tactics in the way he used artillery were
beyond reproach. His successes and errors made throughout the Battle of Waterloo had a direct effect
on how we use artillery today.
The Battle of Waterloo, which took place on 18 June 1815, was the final battle of the Napoleonic wars
and ended Napoleon s reign as emperor. The French marched into Belgium with 70,000 troops and
256 artillery pieces (Stevenson, n.d.). They were met by the British Army led by, the Duke of
Wellington, Arthur Wellesly. Combined with its allies (Germans, Belgians, Dutch, and Prussians), the
British Army consisted of 67,000 troops and 156 artillery pieces.
Napoleon s greatest strength was the use of artillery, but with the heavy rain preceding the battle, he
worried that the muddy battlefield would restrict his artillery from advancing. This led to a fatal
miscalculation he decides not to attack until midday, in an attempt to allow the battlefield to dry. The
delay, would allow Marshal Blucher s Prussian Army enough time to join the fight.
Napoleon starts the battle by bringing up 74 artillery pieces and begins bombarding the British with
canon fire. They sweep and zone the battlefield with 3000 rounds over 30 minutes. To counteract the
artillery fire, Duke Wellington

Challenges Faced By Companies Of The Bionanotechnology...
There are many challenges faced by companies in the Bionanotechnology sector depending on their
size.
Small companies
According to Dr. Elicia Maine, an Associate Professor at the SFU s Beedie School of Business, most
of the Bionanotechnology research in Canada takes place at the University level. The researchers at
the University level look for the labs in their own University only that have industrial participation.
So, many of the Nano biotech researches for the startups remain at the University level and therefore
lag behind on new research due to scarcity of funds. Further, the researchers at the startups have to
work for long hours and get little time to read the journals related to their research and keep
themselves updated about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Maine suggested that Nano biotech companies should divide their research into different branches
or even different companies, so that they can maintain diversity while accepting the Venture
Capitalists demands. An important example of such a company is Nanogram Corporation, which
directed its research into different areas including medical devices, consumer electronics and solar
energy. The research at Nanogram was purchased by a Japanese company Teijin Ltd. In the year 2010.
Another important issue involving the funding by the Venture Capitalists is the Risk Capital in the
Nano biotech sector. According to CVCA (Canada s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association),
the worldwide risk investment in Canada dropped by 22% to $380 million in 2012, although overall
investment remained stable at $1.5 billion in 2011. Thus, Canadian research based Nano biotech firms
are often the target of foreign buyers as risk capital in Canada is lower than United States. Alberta is
seen as the ideal destination for funding by the Venture Capitalists.
Large Companies
A big challenge faced by the multi nationals in the Nano biotech sector is to keep the innovation alive.
According to Dr. Maine, the radical innovations happens mostly at the smaller companies. The big
companies, although profitable, lacks diversity and flexibility in their research focus because of the
stakeholders and Investors demands. However, innovations can occur at the big companies

opportunity for the Russian provinces to declare their independence. The Russian government

The news reported from the ravaged cities within Chechnya is more than disturbing, but as disturbing
as this is, media bias does need to be accounted for. The eyewitness accounts and the various reports
from Human Rights activists are all informative but of a distinct nature, to disgrace the west into
doing some thing about the disintegrating situation in the state. Russian forces have committed grave
abuses, but the situation is one that needs to be rendered regardless of how it is reported. Human
Rights Watch have documented both Russian and Chechen acts of war crimes. The situation is dire in
all cases from massacres, rapes and beatings, to completely ignoring the well fair of civilians. The
Russians have disregarded completely the Geneva Convention obligations, with central market
bombings; civilians deaths in Chechnya weigh heavily in the total death toll of the war. This situation
is unacceptable for wartime in the twenty first century. The war has taken its toll on many parts of
Chechnya; most areas look more like wasteland, especially the capital Grozny.

Russian forces have refused to allow civilians a safe passage through to neighbouring borders for

Energy, Renewable And Renewable Energy
Energy Future Energy has been a major part of humanity ever since the first human learned how to
harness safety, warmth, and energy from fire. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is possible
that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way to solve this
problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind.
There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum
for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and they take
hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The other less
popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable energy. They
can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another. (Micah and Warhol)
To find the solution to energy problem, find the problem first, take a look at our current energy
sources and find the problems. The first thing people think of when talking about fuel is gasoline or
diesel, both of which come from petroleum. Petroleum is a fossil fuel that releases heat as energy
when burned. The heat released from burning drive turbines, air cylinders that can power machinery.
Petroleum is used mostly as fuel to engines such as cars and planes. (EPA) Petroleum is important for

Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development Essay
Growing up experiencing his own identity crisis and misfortunes during his childhood, Erik
Homberger Erikson, a well known psychologist, used this as an inspiration to further one s
understanding of a healthy personality and sense of self. This gave rise to his successful establishment
of the theory of Psychosocial Development. Although derived from Sigmund Freud s theory of
Psychosexual Development, Erickson believed that a person s social experiences cause a great impact
on their sense of identity throughout their entire lifespan in eight different stages of development, as
opposed to the five stages Freud assumed ended when a person reaches early adulthood (Cherry.
2016). Erickson theorized that a person s ability to successfully complete a stage of development,
regardless of their developmental challenges, directly affected the outcome of a healthy or unhealthy
personality and sense of self. In his attempt to exceed further in understanding how a person s social
environment affects their personality and identity, Erikson s findings became great contributions to the
study of psychology. On June 15, 1902, Erikson was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to Karla
Abrahamsen, a Jewish stockbroker, as Erik Salomonsen at birth (GoodTherapy. 2007 16). His mother
married his pediatrician, Theodor Homberger, in 1905, when Erickson was about three years old (The

take on this idea alone, or should I create a group to assist me, whatever it takes to succeed, right?
Some ideas can be accomplished by an individual alone, but usually bigger ideas need a team to see it
through. Working in a team environment can have its drawbacks, but it also has many benefits. In this
paper I am going to provide research to support the setbacks and benefits of both the individual
environment and the team environment. I found that what an individual may lack is a team s gain, vice
versa. The important result is the success achieved by either a team, or an individual. In the
International Journal of Psychology, the authors described a team as being collectivism. In the journal
article Presence of Others and Task Performance in Japan and the United States: A Laboratory
Investigation, the research was not only testing the effects of the different cultures on job productivity
and job quality, but they were also focusing on the effects of working in a group versus working
individually. In their words, they were comparing collectivism and individualism. According to the
journal article collectivism is defined as follows:
...greater emphasis on (a) the views, needs, and goals of the ingroup rather than oneself; (b) social
norms and duty defined by the

Abortion Executive Branch
The purpose of this American government research paper is to discuss the topic of abortion and how it
relates to the three branches of the American government. This essay will research the Executive,
Judicial and Legislative branches. I will use research from sources to cover how this topic plays out in
the government along with its effects on the American people. The US Federal Government has dealt
with abortion by different facts between the Executive Branch, the Judicial Branch, and the
Legislative Branch. Abortion is a process that terminates pregnancy. The decisions that the
government are trying to put in play are hard because everyone has different views on abortions.
While, the Supreme Court s, the laws, and the president all are trying to reduce abortion, it is like
taking away from another life that is being created. Still, until this day they are still trying to have
decisions on abortions. It remains a relevant topic on major news stations and as recently with attacks
at a Planned Parenthood.
In the Executive Branch, the President doesn t approve of abortions. President Obama is trying to ...

In the case of Planned Parenthood v. Casey it was upheld for a woman s right to legal abortion, but
must have a 24 hour waiting period. Though legal abortion is still going on but it s coming to have
stricter boundaries. Parental involvement only one parent is to stay with child. In 1990, two cases
which was Hodgson v. Minnesota as well as Ohio v. Akron center for Reproductive Health,
determined that states requiring parental consent before a minor could have an abortion must allow for
Judicial bypass. States governments can restrict abortion access after the first trimester with laws
intended to protect the woman s health. Abortions after fetal viability must be available if the woman s
health or life are at risk, state governments can prohibit other

James I Growing Hostility
Use Sources 13 14 and 15 and your own knowledge. Do you agree with the view that the main reason
for hostility towards James I in England, in the years before 1618, was the immorality and corruption
of the royal Court? Before the years 1618, there were various factors which contributed towards the
hostility of James I. These factors include his unpopular decisions, uneasy relations with parliament,
matters of religion and finally the issue of his extravagant lifestyle in which he shared with his
favourites in court at a time when England was already in a poor economic state. However, to a certain
extent in many ways it is proven that that his declining popularity had a lot to do with the immorality
and corruption of the Royal Court. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1613, after a scandalous divorce, Robert Carr married Frances Howard, daughter of the Earl of
Suffolk. The source reveals The King s acceptance of this behaviour damaged the reputation of the
Court. This suggests James I s weakness, as he did not maintain a professional attitude as King to
prevent such unacceptable behaviour due to his favouritism towards Carr. Moreover, specifically
highlighting the issue of James favourites. He had been widely criticised for his propensity to have
(male) favourites, on whom he lavished rewards. These included Scotsmen like Sir John Ramsay,
Lord Hume and Lord Hay. However the major favourites of his English reign included Robert Carr
(until 1614) and George Villiers ) thereafter). Although England had limited financial resources, Carr
was showered with money, gifts and land (including Sherborne Manor which had once belonged to
Raleigh) and created Viscount Rochester in 1611 and the Earl of Somerset in 1616. However due to
the scandal which led to the imprisonment of Carr, Villiers was next in line to fill the vacuum created
at court following the disgrace of Carr. However, Villiers portrayed an equally poor image of the court
as he retained the greatest power in the land. He acquire the position that Essex had craved and
Elizabeth had refused in 1601: a dominant role in the distribution of patronage and effect control of
government. This reinforces James unprofessional attitude in

The defendant believed that the $100 deposit, together with his initial $28.45 payment, would secure
for him the $106.00 per week rental rate in lieu of the higher daily rate. When the defendant was
arrested after a report stated that his vehicle was stolen. The officers returned to his room to get his
companion out of the room. Additionally, a complete search of the room was ordered without a
warrant. Inside a closed dresser drawer the officers found a cloth bag secured at the top with a draw
string. They opened the closed bag and found over two ounces of cocaine. As a result, the court found
that the above factors constituted the defendant s had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the motel
room for three reasons. First, a few days earlier, when the defendant had stayed past check out time,
instead of evicting him the hotel permitted him to extend his stay and pay for the additional term of
occupancy. Second, the manager testified that it was the motel s policy to ask those guests staying past
checkout time whether they would be leaving or extending their stay. It was not the motel s policy to
evict guests who were staying past checkout time for brief periods. Third, the defendant had given the
hotel a large cash deposit, which may have led him to believe that he was paid up through the rest of
the week. In

Santa Anita Park Thoroughbred Racing Fans Essay
To thoroughbred horse racing fans, Santa Anita Park in Arcadia is the place to go this winter. The Park
offers live horse racing in the backdrop of the magnificent San Gabriel Mountains. Except for
occasional tourists, horse racing fans are not there for the scenery but to bet and win on horse races.
Thoroughbred racing fans also called handicappers are using race programs and tip sheets to analyze
and bet on horse races. To the handicappers, winning a bet on a horse race is like smoking marijuana.
There is the euphoria of watching the horses run in the oval track. When the horses run toward the
finish line, the fans roar urging their favorite horse to edge ahead and win. After a race, fans with
winning tickets are showing exhilaration by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These peer groups can be heard debating on their choices of horses to win. On some groups, one
member within the group is in charge of placing bets on a race. On one occasion, I have seen a multi
generational group in which the women were giving money to the elderly man, who I assume was
their father, to bet on the coming race. Finally, these racing fans come out in clusters of groups to the
outside in front of the racing track to watch and cheer for their favorite horses. On President s Day at 2
pm, the grandstand terrace was half filled with fans of at least two thousand. To increase the chance of
winning, thoroughbred racing fans use handicapping guides to select horses to wager on a race.
Handicapping guides are race programs, tip sheets, and newspaper style racing forms that ranked
horses. At close inspection, one particular racing guide, The Daily Racing Form , contains data such as
a horse past performances, jockeys, owners, and trainers. On two occasions, I observed that most fans
have at least one of these racing guides. Furthermore, I had seen several sections inside the grandstand
that are like a cafeteria occupied by handicappers but instead of food, handicapping guides lay on the
table. In this scenario, the fans look like researchers in a library. In addition to these handicapping
sections, there are sections that are like a stock exchange where handicappers are standing, facing, and

Data Analysis And Data Processes
Data Transformation are often very complex and is the most costly section of the ETL process.
Transformations are often achieved outside the database using flat files, but mostly occurs within an
Oracle database. The transform step applies rules or functions to the extracted data. These rules or
functions will decide on the analysis of data and can involve transformations like the following:
Data Summations
Data Merging
Data Encoding
Data Splitting
Data Calculations
Creating Surrogate Keys
Data Aggregation
When transformed, the data is clean, accurate, consistent and ready for analysis by the data warehouse
users.
Data can be transformed in two ways:
Multistage Data Transformation
Pipelined Data Transformation

Most of the tasks are completed outside the database, for example step 1 to 4 as shown in figure 6

2.2.2 Cleansing Data
Data cleansing is the process of removing incorrect, inappropriate and duplicate data. It can also be
called data cleaning or data scrubbing. Not cleansing the data will lead to inaccurate and unreliable
results. During the process of cleansing data, if dirty data is detected, it will have to be modified and
will therefore cause delays within the process. Dirty data can be caused by the following:
Members of an organization are poorly trained and will therefore enter data erroneously.
Inaccurate system configuration rules are applied.
Regular data updates are neglected.
Inconsistent or lack of validation rules.
Duplicates are not removed.
Data cleansing can be performed within single or multiple sets of data. Usually problems within single
data sets are due to misspellings when entering data of that they have left out missing information
when inputting. When problems occur within multiple data sets e.g. in a data warehouse, the need to
cleanse data increases greatly. This is because the data is more than likely to have redundant data from
different sources, and will therefore have to make sure all

  • 2. Symptoms And Treatment Of Ptsd Veterans It is evident that reforms are necessary within the VA system and society in regards to PTSD and veterans. How can the American veterans be better taken care of? I will focus on the following four specific issues that are in need of reform, 1. How can wait times be decreased for veterans seeking mental health treatment? 2. How can the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans be eliminated? 3. How can veterans receive immediate assistance in times of crisis? 4. How can we ensure that diagnosed PTSD veterans will continue treatment after receiving full monetary compensation? Focusing on these research questions, I propose to conduct research on decreasing wait times for PTSD related appointments, reducing, or eliminating, the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans, providing a way for veterans to receive immediate PTSD crisis help, and a way to ensure that veterans diagnosed with PTSD continue treatment. Veterans often experience long wait times to schedule an appointment for PTSD. Through additional research I have found that according to a study in 2003 by the American Legion, of approximately 300,000 veterans waiting for health care, over half of them had been waiting over eight months for an appointment (American Legion, 2013). I further researched how many VA facilities in the United States offer specialized treatment for PTSD. In all 50 states, and Washington, DC, there are a total of 139 facilities (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015). I propose to conduct a telephone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although I am young, I feel that a certain lesson in particular has been key to my small but important successes. I ve learned that working hard will demand your respect no matter who you are. I continue to apply this life long lesson on the wrestling mats with my coaches at every meet, practice, and free time. It was the Bend City Championships (wrestling). In an article meant to expose answers to this very question John Kasich brings up a point that when people claim France is at war with Islam, they actually should be referring to radical Islam. This point pulled further controversy as those who were not Islamic began to wonder if the faith condoned suicide bombings in the name of expelling infidels and bringing the coming of the Caliphate. Another case mentioned in the same article details the prosecution of the Blind Sheikh, whose terrorist group attempted to bring down the World Trade Center back in 1993. These expansions of religion and politics were led by dynasties of Caliphs , beginning with the prophet Muhammad and then the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs. Islam spread from Mecca to Medina and furthered into central Asia, North Africa, Spain, and parts of the old Byzantine and Persian empires. Despite this, there is a large misunderstanding about the spread of Islam during this period of time and why the expansion of the Catholic Church after the Dark Ages instead takes precedence in Western Europe. The halt of the expansion of Islamic rule in Europe can be linked back to the Battle of Tours back in 733 AD. This battle was meant to be the Islamic Empires first expansion into Europe nearing the end of the period called the Dark Ages in European history. This resulted in the expansion of the early modern Catholic Church in Europe during the Renaissance and the misunderstanding of Islamic politics. The Prophet Muhammad s large influences over the foundations of Islam helped shape its empire into a powerful militant group that would result in the unification of Arabia in 622 AD . From there, Muhammad would be looked to by many as both a religious prophet and a competent military leader. Conquests made my Muhammad lasted from 622 CE to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

No matter what college, what area, whether it is a notorious party school or not, there is always a danger that comes with placing hormonal youths in close contact with drugs, alcohol, and each other. Yet, few parents are afraid for the safety their young sons. Many parents fear for the safety of their daughters, in an environment where drugs and alcohol are the norm. The college party culture has been renowned for placing shame and blame on young girls who are the victims of rape and sexual assault. So, I created a model for a poster which protests this campus, and also nationwide rape culture. The first element of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is not misandry, it is just historical fact. A 1997 U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics study showed that 91% of rape victims are female... and 99% of arrestees for rape are male. Many rapes are underreported or played down as mistakes , lapses in judgement , etc. This excusing of rape is central to rape culture, especially that of campus rape. This trend can be seen in the way that Brock Turner s father tried to explain away his son s rape of the Stanford rape victim, as 20 minutes of action out of his 20 plus years of life. This could be the understatement of the year! Those 20 minutes of action made a huge and permanent impact on the victim, and that act should not be trivialized. Unfortunately this is characteristic of male rape culture. This concept of a man taking what he wants, when he wants is so toxic, yet so inherent to rae culture. That is why I chose to have the male sign completely merge with the letter U . This macho man trope is so overused that it is basically a given. Therefore, my use of the male sign and its placement have deliberate meanings that symbolize the prevalence of male rapists and sympathizers (such as Brock Turner s father), and how closely they are woven into modern rape ... • 6. Departmentalization Essay For traditional organization structures, departmentalization means that how to group work positions into formal teams or departments that are linked together in a coordinated way (Victoria management school, 2010, p. 272). These decisions have three types of organizational structure: functional, divisional, matrix and hybrid structures. The definition of functional structure is that making the groups which get the people who have the similar skills together for the similar tasks (Schermerhorn, Davidson, Poole, Woods, Simon McBarron, 2014). The advantages of functional: Functional structure provides a variety of benefits to orgnisations. Fist of all, a functional structure supports efficient resource use. It is easy for staff to shift between projects from the same department. It is a small kiwi restaurant. Our human resource, money and material are limited, so using functional structure will help us save money and the efficiency of resources can be maximized. Secondly, it also encourages the development of expertise of the members within function. For example, as marketing director of our restaurant, you might develop specialized skill in advertising, market researching and planning. Employees clearly know what they should do and their clear career path within function. On the other hand, Staffers have the opportunity to move up within their functional areas, which they stay long term. • 12. The Fundamental Economic Principles Part 1 Scarcity When humans moved from hunter/gatherer societies to villages and then cities, a division of labor occurred. Some people became producers of food, some processors, some the ancillary goods and services that are necessary for humans to live together. They found that sometimes there was a surplus of goods, and sometimes a lack of goods. This lack of goods is called the scarcity principle, and it is the fundamental economic principle of needing (or wanting) goods in a world that has limited resources. It means that in society, there will almost always be situations in which there are insufficient resources to fulfill all human wants and needs. Of course this also implies that at any given time, not all individual or group goals can be provided, which results in tradeoffs and substitutions. If we think about scarcity as a principle, then the idea of having scarce resources becomes a fundamental principle of what we call economics really the science of the relationship between production, goods and services, and the amounts we have of each. In any given group (society) there are needs for resources. Resources are the way we make products or turn raw products into something useful (agriculture). Resources might be land, raw materials like ores, etc. Then human resources are necessary to turn these raw recourses into something useful; metal, flour from grain, wine or beer from grain as well, meat prepared for human consumption, etc. Often these particular ... Race and racial hierarchies are reinforced through the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white aesthetic and through the perceptions associated with physical characteristics. In The Bluest Eye, Toni Morrison first illustrates the reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a predominant, societal white aesthetic by recounting passages from the Dick and Jane books, a standardization of family life. Next, The Black Arts Movement by Larry Neal demonstrates the reinforcement of racial hierarchies through the proliferation of a white aesthetic by discussing how Black culture, including Black art, is in danger if the white aesthetic is accepted by Black artists. These books, with their simplistic two and three word sentences, were widely used to teach all children how to read and suggested that the lifestyle of Dick and Jane was typical and standard. But, the Dick and Jane lifestyle was certainly not the typical lifestyle for Claudia, Pecola or either of their families. So, that lifestyle was presumed to be the typical white lifestyle. Furthermore, the lifestyle of Dick and Jane was obviously viewed as superior to a sad, broken, difficult family life, similar to what Claudia and Pecola were accustomed, so white lifestyles in general were viewed as superior. Consequently, exposure to this white aesthetic, especially at an early age, would create, proliferate and reinforce a racial hierarchy. In The Black Arts Movement, Larry Neal also discusses how a racial hierarchy is reinforced through the proliferation of a predominant, societal, white aesthetic. Neal says that, there are in fact and in spirit two Americas one black, one white. (Neal 2039). Further, Neal discusses the danger of not counteracting the white way of thinking, trumpeting the need for a Black aesthetic. The motive behind the Black aesthetic is the destruction of the white thing, the destruction of white ideas, and white ways of looking at the world. (Neal 2040). However, the poem s message is much deeper and far more complex than that alone. By the use of expressive, colorful, and detailed imagery and language, parallels between blackberries and Plath are made since it is evident that Plath is not only the speaker of the poem but the only human character in the story, as well. Within these parallels, Blackberrying dramatizes several areas of life and death such as in the emotions of loneliness and hopelessness, the struggle in dealing with a void, as well as life s cycles and milestones. To begin with, there are seven different colors that Plath mentions throughout the poem which add to its expressive, obviously colorful, and detailed imagery and language. It is important to be aware of each color as they each add meaning and message to the parallels. These colors are red blue, green, black, orange, blue green, pewter, and white. The film released soon after World War II and the subsequent baby boom. This was a time with gave Americans a fresh new look on life, and a time when many young adults and teens had plenty of leisure time. Gidget also marked the end of an era and the start of a new one. Surfing and Gidget play a monumental role in shaping this new era by defying gender roles and leaving a lasting imprint on society. In 1950 s society, both women and men had their place. Although men may have more opportunities and differentiation than women, they both still have their places. Generally, a woman s literal place is in the household, often the kitchen to be more exact. The typical housewife wears a conservative dress, heels, pearls, and possibly an apron depending on whether they are on duty or not. This standard lifestyle of women is portrayed well through Gidget s mother. Gidget, however, does not seem to want to follow in the footsteps of her mother in this jail cell of a stereotypical matriarchal role. Instead of wiping cake batter off her fingers, Gidget would rather wipe sand off her feet after a long day of surfing. While ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the dehumanizing work that was done in factories the artists of the time began to stress the emotions in order to evoke emotion from the soulless factory workers. Effects Of The Battle Of Waterloo The Battle of Waterloo and its Effect on Today s Artillery Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the world s greatest military strategists, led the French at the Battle of Waterloo. During his time as a General, even in defeat, his tactics in the way he used artillery were beyond reproach. His successes and errors made throughout the Battle of Waterloo had a direct effect on how we use artillery today. The Battle of Waterloo, which took place on 18 June 1815, was the final battle of the Napoleonic wars and ended Napoleon s reign as emperor. The French marched into Belgium with 70,000 troops and 256 artillery pieces (Stevenson, n.d.). They were met by the British Army led by, the Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesly. Combined with its allies (Germans, Belgians, Dutch, and Prussians), the British Army consisted of 67,000 troops and 156 artillery pieces. Napoleon s greatest strength was the use of artillery, but with the heavy rain preceding the battle, he worried that the muddy battlefield would restrict his artillery from advancing. This led to a fatal miscalculation he decides not to attack until midday, in an attempt to allow the battlefield to dry. The delay, would allow Marshal Blucher s Prussian Army enough time to join the fight. Napoleon starts the battle by bringing up 74 artillery pieces and begins bombarding the British with canon fire. The research at Nanogram was purchased by a Japanese company Teijin Ltd. In the year 2010. Although derived from Sigmund Freud s theory of Psychosexual Development, Erickson believed that a person s social experiences cause a great impact on their sense of identity throughout their entire lifespan in eight different stages of development, as opposed to the five stages Freud assumed ended when a person reaches early adulthood (Cherry. 2016). Erickson theorized that a person s ability to successfully complete a stage of development, regardless of their developmental challenges, directly affected the outcome of a healthy or unhealthy personality and sense of self. In his attempt to exceed further in understanding how a person s social environment affects their personality and identity, Erikson s findings became great contributions to the study of psychology. On June 15, 1902, Erikson was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to Karla Abrahamsen, a Jewish stockbroker, as Erik Salomonsen at birth (GoodTherapy. 2007 16). His mother married his pediatrician, Theodor Homberger, in 1905, when Erickson was about three years old (The Famous People. 2007). His last name was changed to Homberger, when his step father officially adopted him in 1911, and it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Addiction Of Mobile Phones And The Internet Within our society, mobile phones and the internet have become of an importance, improving people s lives all around the globe. Their aid with respect to communication have allowed people to connect in a form that is not the conventional physical one, where, no matter one s location, one is in contact with family and friends. However, there seems to be an apparent consequence inherent to prolonged mobile phone abuse, one that seems to be proliferating amongst the adolescent population, and it is that of mobile phone addiction. Regardless of your age, gender or ethnicity, you are most probably in possession of a mobile phone. At least this is what has been claimed in a study made by the The World Bank where they declared that, About three quarters of the developed world s population have mobile phones. However, this study merely represents the overall possession of mobile phones, without incisively delineating the dependence on these devices by the different age groups. A study shows that teenagers spend around seven hours a day consuming media by surfing the web and visiting social networking sites. The broadening development of smarter phones is allowing the population to center their media within one sole device, where it is now possible to carry out any task from your phone, whether it involves sending emails, reading a book, or playing a game. With their entire universe circulating around their mobile phones, it is only logical to understand teenage dependence on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Benefits Of The Individual Environment And The Team... The idea to succeed can only go so far, it is the paths chosen that can make the end result a success, or a failure. We all want to succeed, but as a leader you have to determine what approach to make. Shall I take on this idea alone, or should I create a group to assist me, whatever it takes to succeed, right? Some ideas can be accomplished by an individual alone, but usually bigger ideas need a team to see it through. Working in a team environment can have its drawbacks, but it also has many benefits. In this paper I am going to provide research to support the setbacks and benefits of both the individual environment and the team environment. I found that what an individual may lack is a team s gain, vice versa. The important result is the success achieved by either a team, or an individual. In the International Journal of Psychology, the authors described a team as being collectivism. In the journal article Presence of Others and Task Performance in Japan and the United States: A Laboratory Investigation, the research was not only testing the effects of the different cultures on job productivity and job quality, but they were also focusing on the effects of working in a group versus working individually. In their words, they were comparing collectivism and individualism. According to the journal article collectivism is defined as follows: ...greater emphasis on (a) the views, needs, and goals of the ingroup rather than oneself; (b) social norms and duty defined by the ... Do you agree with the view that the main reason for hostility towards James I in England, in the years before 1618, was the immorality and corruption of the royal Court? Before the years 1618, there were various factors which contributed towards the hostility of James I. These factors include his unpopular decisions, uneasy relations with parliament, matters of religion and finally the issue of his extravagant lifestyle in which he shared with his favourites in court at a time when England was already in a poor economic state. Although England had limited financial resources, Carr was showered with money, gifts and land (including Sherborne Manor which had once belonged to Raleigh) and created Viscount Rochester in 1611 and the Earl of Somerset in 1616. However due to the scandal which led to the imprisonment of Carr, Villiers was next in line to fill the vacuum created at court following the disgrace of Carr. However, Villiers portrayed an equally poor image of the court as he retained the greatest power in the land. The Park offers live horse racing in the backdrop of the magnificent San Gabriel Mountains. Except for occasional tourists, horse racing fans are not there for the scenery but to bet and win on horse races. Thoroughbred racing fans also called handicappers are using race programs and tip sheets to analyze and bet on horse races. To the handicappers, winning a bet on a horse race is like smoking marijuana. There is the euphoria of watching the horses run in the oval track. Finally, these racing fans come out in clusters of groups to the outside in front of the racing track to watch and cheer for their favorite horses. On President s Day at 2 pm, the grandstand terrace was half filled with fans of at least two thousand. To increase the chance of winning, thoroughbred racing fans use handicapping guides to select horses to wager on a race. Handicapping guides are race programs, tip sheets, and newspaper style racing forms that ranked horses. At close inspection, one particular racing guide, The Daily Racing Form , contains data such as a horse past performances, jockeys, owners, and trainers. On two occasions, I observed that most fans have at least one of these racing guides. Furthermore, I had seen several sections inside the grandstand that are like a cafeteria occupied by handicappers but instead of food, handicapping guides lay on the table. In this scenario, the fans look like researchers in a library. In addition to these handicapping sections, there are sections that are like a stock exchange where handicappers are standing, facing, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

FIGURE 6: PIPELINED DATA TRANSFORMATION 2.2.2 Cleansing Data Data cleansing is the process of removing incorrect, inappropriate and duplicate data. It can also be called data cleaning or data scrubbing. Not cleansing the data will lead to inaccurate and unreliable results. During the process of cleansing data, if dirty data is detected, it will have to be modified and will therefore cause delays within the process. Dirty data can be caused by the following: Members of an organization are poorly trained and will therefore enter data erroneously. Inaccurate system configuration rules are applied. Regular data updates are neglected. Inconsistent or lack of validation rules. Duplicates are not removed. Data cleansing can be performed within single or multiple sets of data. Usually problems within single data sets are due to misspellings when entering data of that they have left out missing information when inputting. When problems occur within multiple data sets e.g. in a data warehouse, the need to cleanse data increases greatly. This is because the data is more than likely to have redundant data from different sources, and will therefore have to make sure all
