2. Marketing and Tweeter
Case Analysis Tweeter etc. Company Overview Tweeter etc. was founded in 1972 by Sandy
Bloomberg in Boston to sell high end stereo components. The current portfolio of the company
consists of brand stereos, television, car radios and car phones. Tweeter has recently witnessed a
healthy growth in its financial performance. Sale has almost doubled in the last three years reaching
$82.3 million in FY 1996. Its sales per store has increased by 50% and number of stores increased to
21 from 14 during the same period. The Making and Current Scenario During its formative years,
Tweeter gained the reputation of being the retailer of high quality, high end audio components and
video equipment. They had a knowledge able sales force providing ... Show more content on

The starting price for its products as communicated to the consumers by ads was well above the other
retailers. Thus, consumers being price sensitive thought of Tweeter as the store selling high priced
goods. Even though the middle and high end stuff are sold at around the same prices as in all stores.
The lack of awareness along with the price advertising has made the Tweeter appear more costly and
specialized for high end customers and thus driving consumers away. As can be justified Tweeter s
70% sales was due to Quality/Service customers which look for high levels of product quality and
customer service due to its image. As can be seen from the survey, the awareness level of people about
APP was very low. Only 32% of the respondents could define it. Only 22.1% of the respondents knew
that Tweeter offered the APP service. Concern 4: Is Tweeter targeting the right customer sector and
should it continue with APP? The price bitter and the quality/service customers together account for
90% of Tweeter customers. It lacks behind in Entry level and convenience customers. This can be
attributed to the various misconceptions about the store in the market such as Tweeter stocks high end
goods only. This has led to Tweeter running in losses during early 1990 s. Though, it has shown some
improvement after that due to the inclusion of APP. Concern 5: Is Tweeter actually price competitive
among its competitors Tweeter is price

3. Essay Jilting Of Granny Weatherall
The Jilting of Granny Weatherall In Katherine Ann Porter s amp;quot; The Jilting of Granny
Weatherall, amp;quot; there are two prevalant themes. The first is self pity. The second theme is the
acceptance of her immenent demise. Both deal with the way people perceive their deaths and
mortality in general. Granny Weatherall s behavior is Porter s tool for making these themes visible to
the reader. The theme of self pity is obvious and throughly explored early on. As a young lady, Granny
Weatherall left at the alter on her wedding day . As a result, the pathetic woman feels sorry for herself
for the rest of her life. She becomes a bitter old woman who is suspicious of everyone around her. This
point is shown early in the story when the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

calls on a priest to offer Granny her last rights. When the priest arrives, she would not speak to him.
She said, amp;quot;I went to Holy Communion only last week. Tell him I m not so sinful as all that.
amp;quot; (1491) As Granny s life was winding down with only minutes remaining, she finally began
to show signs that she accepted what was happening to her. She bagan remembering those who were
important to her and dividing her possesions among family members. Porter shows a loving side to
Granny Weatherall that endears her to the audience before she is wisked away from the land of the
living. It is reminiscint of The Flannery O Connor story amp;quot;A Good Man is Hard to Find.
amp;quot; The Misfit has just executed a fast talking grandmother. One of his evil cohorts offers that
she was amp;quot;a real talker. amp;quot; The Misfit interjects that amp;quot; She would have been a

Granny Weatherall, at her best while near the bitter end. The Jilting of Granny Weatherall gives us a
brief overview of mortality. Porter gives us slightly deeper insight into self pity and the acceptance of
death. Granny Weatherall s actions and thoughts give the reader an idea of how it feels as life draws to
a close. Porter suggests that by succeeding in dying well, one can leave

Cancer is one of the most destructive illnesses worldwide, affecting almost ⅓ of all people.
Thankfully, treatments, like chemotherapy, have been developed to combat and reduce the prevalence
of this life threatening illness. Chemotherapy is the use of combined drugs to eliminate the aggressive

the growth of cancer cells. However, what is not accounted for are the societal factors resulting from
cancer and its treatment. Specifically, the societal economic ramifications of chemotherapy treatment.

The new Mrs. de Winter, consistently does not feel that she has complete ownership of Manderley,
almost as if she is a guest in her own home. After Maxim tells the unnamed narrator the truth behind
Rebecca s death, he describes how her [Rebecca s] shadow is between us all the time, and how she
will win in the end because she knew this would happen (265). It is suddenly clear the extent to which
Maxim has been tortured with guilt over murdering Rebecca. The narrator had incorrectly assumed
that Maxim s anguish was due to the loss of his wife, but Maxim is actually tormented by the
realization that Rebecca has manipulated him into killing her. Although Maxim has strived to move on
from the past, he has concluded that Rebecca will never let him escape. She will achieve a final
victory her body is discovered and Maxim is sent to prison as a murderer. The deep purple mimics
Rebecca s shadow as it is not easily seen in all environments (especially dark rooms); however, it is
always there and can never be erased because of its dark color. This color correlates with the
environment at Manderley as Manderley is the classic gothic castle with dark rooms and the narrator

The context in this paper therefore is going to analyze the country progression utilizing the
information written in On China. I will analyze the country from the ancient China to the Modern
china that has established her through political leaderships and economic stability of the country.
Political organization in China
Dynasty rise and falls characterized China s ancient political organizations (Kissinger Henry 88). The
dynasty era began during the Xia dynasty in around 2100 1600 BC and ended when the Republic of
China government was formed in the year 1949. Their political organization was hereditary, hence the
name dynasty. This meant that when the king or the emperor died the succession for the throne would
occur in the same family line; mainly from father to son. There were some occasions, however, when
a non blood relative would assume the leadership positions. Nevertheless, this was in very rare
instances. This kind of political organization and ruling to some extent might have promoted unity of
the various kingdoms as per the time; although this was not always the case. There are some instances
when the country Kingdom split and later merged again through conquests and war.
The ancient China was characterized by many dynasties (Kissinger Henry 72). The Xia dynasty was
the first. The Shang dynasties succeed the Xia dynasty (1600 1046). Then there was the Zhou
Dynasty. It was followed by the

against the problems she may face and readied herself for the awesome outcome that would be after
the pain. There is always a rainbow after rain right? Once she got ready and hopped in her mind went
from zero to one hundred real quick. The signals inside Cox s brain were sending off shocks telling
her that there was not enough air entering the lungs and nothing could be done to calm it. In the
predicament she was in it is normal to think it out but when your body feels like I had a corset
tightening around my chest it is hard to chill out (Cox 133). Her mind was firing signals telling her to

10. Allied Strategic Bombing
Allied strategic bombing of Germany during the Second World War was, in the main, significant. The
key themes to be looked at in this essay are the effects that Allied Strategic Bombing had on the
dislocation and demoralisation of German civilians; Germany s economic ability to produce and
transport goods for the war effort; other key aspects of the war and the German war effort and, finally,
its impact on the USSR. The evidence of the effectiveness of Allied Strategic Bombing of Germany
strongly suggests that it became more significant throughout the war, especially after the first one
thousand bomber raid on Cologne in May 1942, and although not decisive on its own, was significant
in the final outcome of the Second World War.

Whilst the significance that it had on the German home front may have been more limited than hoped
for, it succeeded in dislocating and demoralising German civilians. Whilst its effect on Germany s
economic ability to produce and transport goods for the war effort may have been mostly limited, its
effect on the transport infrastructure of German was of critical significance. Perhaps the most
significant effect was bombing s impact on other areas of the war and the German war effort because
of how it saved thousands of potential casualties and facilitated the D Day landings. Its impact on the
USSR in terms of both keeping them as an ally and easing their invasion was also of great
significance. The overall outcome from Allied Strategic Bombing may have been highly significant,
but we must not fail to neglect the cost at which such a result came. 44.4% of Bomber Command
crews failed to return from their missions (55,573) and over 18000 were wounded or became prisoners
of war. 8,325 aircraft were lost and 1,030,500 tons of bombs were dropped. Despite the cost at which
Allied Strategic Bombing came at, the evidence supports the argument that the Allied Strategic

11. Nuclear Physics Of The Society Development
Nuclear physics in the society development
Nuclear physics is the field of physics that studies atomic nuclei and their constituents and
interactions. The most commonly known application of nuclear physics is nuclear power generation,
but the research has led to applications in many fields, including nuclear medicine and magnetic
resonance imaging, nuclear weapons, ion implantation in materials engineering, and radiocarbon
dating in geology and archaeology. Nuclear physics has a lot of importance in general society
development. Ernest Rutherford (1871 1937): Known as the father of nuclear physics, the New
Zealand born scientist was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908 for his investigations into
the disintegration of the elements, and the chemistry of radioactive substances . Nuclear Physics as we
know it today is almost a hundred years old. In 2009, we celebrate the centenary of the publication of
the results of the Geiger Marsden (or gold foil) experiment performed at the University of Manchester.
Nuclear Physics positively influences our daily lives. There are many benefits to nuclear physics,
these benefits take many forms. When done properly it can encourage interest, develop support for the
research. From fighting cancer to assuring safety of food, to protecting our borders, nuclear physics
impacts the lives of everyone around the world every day. These applications include devices and

12. The Endangered Species Act Is A Good Thing
A world without animals is a scary thought. There are many animals that will become extinct and
many that are endangered. The Endangered Species Act is a good thing because it has provided a set
way in helping to protect different species. The Endangered Species Act was signed by past president
Richard Nixon, and it was passed with 99% support from Congress. They wanted to protect different
species no matter what. Between 40% 50% of endangered species in the U.S. have made
improvement, but others are moving toward extinction. The law has helped in the rebirth of 36
species, but a similar number has disappeared. The mixed record on restoration and the impact it has
on business has turned the ESA into a one sided playing field (Male). There are ways humans
contribute to species of endangerment by destroying habitats, the introduction of exotic species and
hunting. Natural causes such as global warming are another factor that has contributed to species
endangerment. The Endangered Species Act has helped to save animals such as the american alligator,
the bald eagle, grizzly bears and many others. It is used to prohibit the hunting of these animals. The
Endangered Species Act has some negative impacts so there are people who are in support of the
while others are not. It could be more effectively enforced by encouraging people to minimize harm to
animals and to participate in recovery projects. These recovery projects are being used to help protect
endangered species. The

14. Mass Shooting Debate
In the last ten months, since the start of the year 2015, proximally 300 mass shootings have taken
place in the United States. This number is about 100 times the amount of mass shootings in Australia
since their gun restricting bill was passed in 1996. This raises the discussion whether or not changing
the American gun laws would help bring down the total of injuries and fatalities.
In 1791, the second amendment was added to the American constitution, stating that every US citizen
had the right to bear and own a gun. This is still the case in modern day America. In fact an 18 year
old cannot buy any alcohol, but does have the possibility to walk in a store and buy a gun, often
without any license or experience. It is likely that when this amendment is abolished the average
American citizen is more safe from mass shootings and gun violence.
According to Nelson Lund, professor at the George Mason University of Law, people would not feel
safe seeing that they would find it more difficult to protect their homes and family without the security
of a firearm. The right to self defense and to the means of defending oneself is a basic natural right
that grows out of the right to life. In addition to that Wayne LaPierre, Vice President of the National

15. Martin Wright s Theory Of Restorative Justice
The term restorative justice was first used by Albert Eglash in several 1958 articles in which he
suggested that there are three types of criminal justice: (1) retributive justice, based on punishment;
(2) distributive justice, based on therapeutic treatment of offenders; and (3) restorative, based on
restitution. (Van Ness and Strong 23) Howard Zehr is known as the grandfather of restorative justice;
he was certainly one of the first articulators of restorative justice theory. His interest grew out of work
with victim offender reconciliation programs, and his articles, speeches, books, his teaching have
profoundly influenced the field. Martin Wright has contributed to the development of restorative
justice thinking and practice in Europe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be used in both juvenile and adult cases. The goal of victim offender mediation is to hold the
offender directly accountable for his/her behavior while providing important assistance to the victim at
a post incarceration stage. The process follows four phases: (1) referral and intake, when the case is
referred to a mediation agency; (2) preparation for mediation; (3) mediation and (4) the follow up.
Typically, property and other minor crimes are the most common type of offenses referred to victim
offender mediation, although, some violent offenses have been referred as well. Victim offender
mediation focuses on opening a dialogue between a victim and an offender to promote victim healing
and offender accountability. The victim is able to tell their offender about the crimes physical,
emotional and financial impact; to receive answers to lingering questions about the crime and the
offender. Victim offender mediation is one of the clearest expressions of restorative justice, a
movement that is receiving a lot of attention throughout the U.S. and Europe. There are now 290
victim offender mediation programs in the United States and more than 500 in Europe. (Office of
Justice Programs, National Institute of Justice ) The program is implemented by being referred by
judges, probation officers, victim advocates, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and police. In other
programs, cases are usually referred after a formal admissions of guilt has been accepted by the court,

a hero to the poor population of Medellin and this would be a major contributor to the long lasting

projects gave him massive popularity among the population and the people of Medellin would return

18. The Effects Of Coal Ash On The Health Of Water Systems
Introduction Coal ash is a byproduct of burning coal in power plants and is composed mainly of
aluminum and silicon oxides. This ash is commonly stored away in dump sites, only to leach out
solutions of concentrated toxic heavy metals. Such issues are detrimental to the health of water
systems, posing both a human and environmental health risk. However, there are solutions to this
problem. Coal ash possesses unique chemical properties that allow for the remediation of other
environmental concerns, such as the treatment of soil polluted with heavy metals, the removal of
nutrients from wastewater, and the remediation of acid mine drainage in streams. Coal ash is known to
contain a number of different toxic metals, the exact content dependent upon the coal it is formed
from. Containing this potential pollution hazard is an expensive problem, as approximately 75% of all
ash generated is stored in landfills. In these sites, rainwater can leach out toxic metals including
mercury, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, molybdenum, lead and selenium. As over 500 million tons of
ash are produced each year, there s an increasing environmental health hazard to the surrounding
water systems of these landfills. Pollution can spread to municipal water systems and potentially
poison humans. As such, figuring out a better solution to deal with the unused coal ash is of significant
importance. Current uses of coal ash primarily include the formation of concrete due the pozzolanic
properties of coal

Question 1: How did Edvard Munch attempt to visualize intense emotion in his paintings? Discuss in
relation to particular paintings. Edvard Munch is a highly influential artist, pioneering many of the
ideas that informed the German Expressionist movement. The crux of his work is in the reflection the
death, grief and emotion of his own experiences. Drawing from his own tortured upbringing, with the
death of his father, brother and sister, as well as his own mental and physical illnesses. There are
several ways in which he visualises this emotion in his work. Through form, colour and technique
Munch translates his obsession with psychological states into highly striking works that have

Munch worked with many different styles throughout his career and the reduction of form shows the
influence of the expressionists and the art he would have seen while he lived intermittently in France
between 1889 and 1892. He changes focus from the representation of physical form and instead into a
study of psychological experience and passion that expresses a modernity of attitude. The colours,
dark in hue, but brilliant in intensity, scream of the intense emotion portrayed by Munch. His works
from the turn of the century have a reoccurring colour palette. Presenting the same window to a
tortured world with blood red skies, pale skinned beings, and dark mysterious corners. In one of his
earlier works, The Sick Child, made after the death of his younger sister, the colour scheme is
dominated by the relationship of a range of sea greens with a hot orange red. It may be suggested that
the greens and reds themselves evoke the queasiness and fever of illness. The effect of the colour
scheme is deepened by the fact that these colours are complementaries, which gives a dynamic effect
in combination. Munch manipulates this element for emotional as well as aesthetic effect. The girl s
face glows with a pale yellow light, which is reflected in the stark white of the bedhead in the
background, in strong contrast to this is the dark blue black of the woman s dress adding intensity

Good morning Mr Harrop and fellow peers. Today I will be analysing the moral issues and moral
dilemmas in non literary texts, so that we can understand and evaluate how test structures, language
and visual features can be used to influence an audience response. An exemplar of many moral and
ethical dilemmas is shown through popular sport inspiring movie, Remember The Titans (Yakin,
2000) directed by Boaz Yakin. Yakins has a gift for dealing with controversial human issues, by facing
the characters with racism, peer pressure and selfishness. Alongside the writer Gregory Allen Howard,
they have utilized textual structures, language features and visual features to influence the audience s
response. Remember The Titans follows the problem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He seems to want the audience to respond with shock and sympathy as they witness how vile the
black people are treated. One of the few racism dilemma s is shown after Gerry, Alan and Ray are
returned to the high school after coach Yoast stops them from joining the city riots. Infuriated with the
black people fighting back, Gerry instigates the racism and discrimination, snarling, Hell why don t
you just kick em all off the team. I don t wanna play with any of them black animals. This scene was
very effective and coincided with the use of close up camera shots to enhance Gerry s emotions, whilst
reinforcing Yakin s message that black people were treated poorly and erratically. After Gerry s
disastrous car accident, Coach Boone is faced with the moral dilemma of selfishness. Boone has
always been a coach who strives to win, not only for himself, but for the team, however after the
accident, he lacks empathy for the boys and thinks more about what he wants. When he suggests that
the team incorporate more training to cope with the changes so that they can win, Yoast feels that
Boone is being selfish and lacking consideration of the team s loss, so confronts him with the
questions Is this even about football anymore? Or is it just about you? To express his reaction to being
described as selfish, the

23. New Technology And Advanced Communication Options Essay
The advents of new technology and advanced communication options have changed the way in which
meeting planners construct business meetings over the past several years. There are many positive
impacts brought about by technology; however, we cannot ignore the adverse impact that accompanies
the use of technology in meeting planning. The use of Internet and social media has helped meeting
planners to shift some work to attendees, which can make attendees feel more engaged. For instance,
registrants at South by Southwest s event are able to choose panelists by using social space. Another
way business meeting planner help the attendees to engage is by placing prizes at specific locations
and post pictures on social media platform. When attendees find the prizes, they will feel good, but
also, it is an important technique for meeting planners to use when they need more traffic at certain
locations (O Brien, 2014). Social media has also made the marketing process easier and cheaper for
meeting planners. It creates buzz and develops interest before the meeting without having business
owners paying a lot to market ( How has today s technology changed... , 2016). Also, meeting
planners do not have to worry that attendees cannot find the products they are interested in and having
difficulties find certain spots when they put data personalization into use. Beacon technology is one of
the examples that incorporate big data that could detect attendees mobile devices and send related

24. Mass Of Lab Essay
How Do the Different Mass of BBs Affect the Muzzle Velocity and the Kinetic Energy in a Ballistic
Pendulum?
By: Conor O Neill
Introduction: As a kid I was always interested in guns and the military. I would spend my Saturdays
watching the military channel and playing with my nerf guns with my older brother, pretending to be a
U.S. Marine. As I started to get older, nerf guns got boring; So I begged my parents to buy me a airsoft
gun. Then, after another couple years the airsoft gun got boring. When this project started being
discussed, I jumped at the opportunity to use my old airsoft rifle for the good of physics, while having
fun at the same time. I decided the best way to use my gun would be to measure the ... Show more

After each trial I would wait for the pendulum to come to a complete stop until I fired another BB.
When it was time to switch the BBs from .20g to .25g, I did not touch the gun but I only took out the
ammunition clip. I did this because if I were to move the gun, the gun would likely line up a different
way causing there to possibly be different results. By just taking out the clip, the gun did not move,
which means the BB hit just about the same spot on the pendulum every time. Data and Calculations
BBs Trail 1 Trial 2 Trial 3 Trial 4
.20g 9cm 10cm 11cm 9cm .25 g 5cm 6cm 6cm 7cm Mean of .20g BBs: 9.75cm
Mean of .25g BBs: 6cm
Because the Energy of the BB is conserved in the system after the collision, I wanted to show that. So
I used the formula .5*(mass of the BB + pendulum)*(velocity of the BB + pendulum) ² to find the
Kinetic Energy. After that I calculated the Potential Energy using (mass of the BB +
pendulum)*gravity*height by which the pendulum swung. To calculate the Velocity of the BB
combined with the pendulum I derived the equation: velocity = √2*gravity*height swung by which
the pendulum swung. I will use the average height swung by the pendulum for both mass BBs.

the simple designs of Hubert de Givenchy, the rest of her characteristics seemed to fall perfectly into
place. Along with the excellent choices in movie roles and the outfits provided by Givenchy, the only
thing left to do was to make the movies that would preserve her name into history. Starting with

28. Job Redesign For Expanded Him Functions
This week we were asked four questions about the article by Elizabeth Layman (published in 2011) on
Job Redesign for Expanded HIM Functions. I will tackle each of these in the order they were given us.
How are the principles of goal setting applied in this case? First let s start by defining what we mean
by goal setting. What we mean when we mention goal setting is setting an effective SMART goal. And
what is a SMART goal? It can be defined as: specific; measurable; achievable; realistic; and timely.
Let s go back to our first question, how does this apply to the Job Redesign for Expanded HIM
Functions article?
Goal setting applies to this in so much as the various departments have to set goals to affect the
change they desire within their sectors...Such as new programs to make their employees work smarter
or more efficient.
The second question we were asked this week is: how are the principles of job enrichment applied in
this case? Again, let s define what job enrichment is; it is: a job redesign technique that allows workers
more control over how they perform their own tasks, giving them more responsibility. The way this is
applied in this case is that by giving each worker a more autonomy over how they approach their task
there will be less sloppiness as well as monotony on the job...Theoretically speaking at any rate;
because just as there is the potential for those positives, there is also the possibility or the reverse
happening...As well as other

1.1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Financial sectors all over the world is going through the process of transformation such as,
liberalization, technological innovations and deregulation. The evolving financial system in India has
been interlinked with the growth of the macro economics. This change allows financial institutions to
bring in assortment of new product and services into the economy. Financial institutions play a
prominent role in stimulating the economic growth in a country, they help to mobilize the savings and
channelize the funds as investments into the sectors which requires it. Government has played a

30. The Four Noble Truths Essay
The Four Noble Truths One of the most important sharing in the Buddha s first sermon is the Four
Noble Truths. The First Noble Truth is the truth of duhkha that life is dissatisfactory. The Buddha
explained it from four aspects physical changing, mental emotional process, unpleasant things, and not
processing the things one wants. The Second Noble Truth illustrates the cause of duhkha. It seems that
craving is the cause of all sufferings. Actually, it is the idea of selfness which produces ignorance, the
first constituent of the twelve nidhana, and leads to craving and thirst. The Third Noble Truth
demonstrates the cessation of unsatisfactory state. According to the twelve nidhana, removing
ignorance will eliminate craving and finally cease ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buddha explained it from three aspects. First of all, we can t prevent the changing condition of
physical life. We can t stop from growing old, can t get rid of getting sick, and can t control dying or
giving birth in the six realms. The physical changing itself already lets people down. Lack of ability to
manage the physical changing makes us even more unsatisfied about lives. The second point is that we
can t get permanent happiness. Although no one will deny that we feel happy sometimes, all pleasure
we get will not last forever. For example, during the time I applied for universities and colleges for
undergraduate study, I was so happy when I received the offer from UNC. But, one month later, I can t
feel the same level of happiness as the day I saw the congratulations on the letter. We always believe
that we will get lasting happiness after we realize something, however, we won t. Therefore, the gap
between what we want and what we actually get causes the dissatisfactoriness. The last aspect is that
personal and social duhkha are caused by changing states of human. If one has the negative emotions
like angry, hatred, greed, and delusion, he or she will project these personal feelings to family and
friends, and even cause war, political repression or other social turbulences. All three points
demonstrate that life is dissatisfactory, which is exactly the truth of

I was born and raised in the Philippines. In 2014, we moved into the United States. My friends usually
ask me, How s it living in America compared here in the Philippines? . Moving to another country was
a huge, scary, life changing leap. People will leave behind everything they have developed to know,
and begin to grow into new cultures and traditions. Some of the things I observed that differs between
Filipinos and Americans were about celebrations, means of transportation and general things of
culture. In the Philippines, the most popular means of public and cheapest transport for people, goods
and even sometimes little animals are Jeepneys. Most of the time, jeepneys are always overloaded and
some passengers are hanging on the back or even at the top of the vehicle; nevertheless hanging in the
jeepney isn t allowed in large cities. For budget travelers, Jeepneys are one of the best and most
comfortable transport options. There are also Padyak in local distances, where the rider sits in a
sidecar, beside the bicycle, rather than behind it. The Filipino padyak is similar to rickshaws and
tricycles. Light rail, buses, and taxis, are the other mode of transportation in the cities like Manila;
however most people just walk in the end because of the heavy traffic. While in America, they have
transit busses, taxis or trains for public transportation. They also have subways, also known as metro

32. The Water And Hydrologic Cycle
The Water and Hydrologic Cycle As we understand it today we know that water is a vital resource and
it is one of the most important substances on earth for all species, plants and animals. All species,
plants and animals must have water to survive to sustain life. It is noted that if there is no water on
earth then there would be no life forms on earth either. Water is also essential for the healthy growth of
all farm crops and farm stock in the manufacture of many products for environmental growth. Apart
from drinking water to survive, humans have many other uses for water. These include: cooking,
washing their bodies, washing clothes, washing cooking and eating utensils; such as billies, saucepans,
crockery and cutlery, keeping houses and communities clean, recreation; such as swimming pools and
keeping plants alive in gardens and parks. It is most important that the water which humans drink and
use for other purposes is considered as clean water. This means that the water we drink must be free of
germs and chemicals and be clear (not cloudy). There are many vital resources of water as well that
are needed to sustain life on earth, but for this essay we will only take a look at three, Rain Water,
Surface Water and Underground Water. Rain Water: Is Water that is collected on the earth in the form
of surface water and underground water. Surface Water: The water present on the surface of the earth

Despite the fact that Gray Wolves hunt deer, they are helpful animals to the ecosystem. Gray Wolves
keep the ecosystem s movement in check. They actually help the environment more than hurt it. They
can be as friendly like dogs if raised from pups. They re very interesting animals and it should be
illegal to hunt them because they are almost extinct, they keep the prey population in check, and are

In 2005, among other major airlines in the United States, JetBlue was known to be one of the highest
in customer service (Argenti, 2017, p. 102). They were ranked the highest because they served and
valued their customers to the best they could, and tried to provide them with the best service during
their flights. JetBlue served their signature Terra Blues potato ships, free satellite television in every
leather seat, legroom, among other attentive services (Argenti, 2017, p. 102). JetBlue had a valuable
reputation; however, all that changed due to deteriorating weather condition.
As mentioned in the reading, due to the deteriorating weather caused at the New York s John F.
Kennedy International Airport, critical constituency issues were arising within JetBlue s customers
and their own employees. More than 250 of its 505 flights daily canceled and had an outcome of 1,200
flights canceled between February 14 and February 19 (Argenti, 2016, p. 105). Because of the
widespread of cancellations, this caused loss of baggage s which enraged customers. However, one of
the biggest errors that caused constituency issue was when JetBlue trapped their customers inside the
plane for over nine hours before they were taken to their terminal (Argenti, 2017, p. 104). These issues
ruin JetBlue s reputation within their potential customers because they now feared that they could lose
their baggage, have their flights canceled or even worse, be trapped inside the plane for numerous of
hours.

36. Gender Identity And Its Effect On The Way People
Society has a tremendous effect on the way people see themselves as well as the way they see others.
When it comes to sex and gender, these two words are used interchangeably, even though they are
different. Sex is what a person is biologically born with, whereas Gender is how a person is seen in
society, their roles, and their accepted behavior. Gender identity is a person s inner sense of being
male or female and a display of that. Jayme Poisson writes an article, Parents Keep Child s Gender
Secret, on two parents that decided to raise their newborn child genderless. The couple also allows
their other children to display whichever gender they choose, not conforming with how they re
expected to look and act based on their sex, (Poisson 366). Kwame Anthony Appiah describes the idea
of being able to respect the traditions of others without having to agree with or understand them in
Making Conversation . Women and men are, not surprisingly, treated very differently in society. In
Human Dignity Francis Fukuyama writes about equality and the essence that humans possess. Society
creates a stigma for men who act feminine and women who act masculine, creating a negative impact
on ones gender identity, specifically on the description of gender roles, and how certain products are
marketed.
Gender identity in society is seen as important and necessary. So much so, that raising a genderless
child is seen as taboo. In Poisson s article, she introduces parents Kathy Witterick and

37. The Impact Of The San Francisco Earthquake Of 1906
The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 and Recovery.
What did the people of San Francisco suffer after the earthquake of 1906? In order to answer this
question, we need to know what the San Francisco earthquake was. The San Francisco earthquake
happened in 1906 with a magnitude of 7.8 and caused a fire that burned for 7 days. This was the
biggest recorded earthquake in San Francisco. The foreshock started at 5:12am and 25 seconds later
the earthquake started that lasted 40 to 60 seconds, with most San Franciscans asleep in rooms, they
became trapped with only their hope to save them. The earthquake and fire of San Francisco in 1906
will go down as one of the worst earthquakes in the United States history. It s after affects can still be
felt in the California area.
The San Francisco earthquake caused quite a lot of damage in the area, but what is an earthquake? An
earthquake is the movement of tectonic plates along a transform boundary and what plate is California
sitting on? The Pacific Plate which is not connected to the North American plate and the plate
boundary is a transform boundary. Earthquakes occur so often there that people say it is like a
rainstorm that is ignored. The place where the Pacific Plate is grinding along with the North American
Plate is called the San Andreas Fault. As stated before the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8 which
caused so much destruction a fire broke out. Nobody really knows where the fire started but it burned
for 7 days and scorched over 500 city blocks leaving the once proud and powerful city into dust. The
combination of the earthquake and fire is said to have killed Over 700 deaths by the earthquake and
fire is now believed to be an understatement the total loss of life by a factor of 3 or 4. (The Great 1906
San Francisco Earthquake.)
Even before the earthquake people saw suspicious things with animals. For example, Lisa A.
Chippendale in her book The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, quoted Sergeant Cook who stated
The horses seemed skittish, frequently neighing and nervously pulling at their reins. Many people
were asleep in the time of the shock. By the first shock some shot up and tried to get their clothes on,

39. Milton Friedman s The Free Market Theory
Milton Friedman bases his opinion on businesses and profit maximization on the foundation of free
enterprise. The free market theory believes that business managers have only one primary
responsibility, which is to maximize profit; also, the theory tells that government should not involve in
economic matters, except to prevent fraud and coercion (p. 7) Mr. Friedman argues that a corporation,
unlike a person, cannot have responsibility. I disagree with this notion. I don t think that anyone would
engage in a business contract with a corporation if they thought that a corporation was not responsible
to pay its bills. So therefore, a corporation can have legal, and moral responsibilities. Milton Friedman
uses what, to me, is the key phrase as long as it stays within the rules of the game but does not define
the phrase in terms of the legal system. My question is what about the rules of the game that are not so
much as even suggested in the law? There are other rules that companies have to follow if they want
to be successful; such as the obvious supply and demand rules in the marketplace. Also, as we have
seen with the production of new ideas and technologies, the law follows progressions in technology
and thinking. But the principle of responsibility leads the legal cases being decided. Being compliant
with the law may keep them out of court, but companies know that holding themselves accountable to
a higher standard will keep them in a good place with their customers,

with is working in the substance abuse field. My goal is to work with the adult population with the

neglected, are unable to take care of themselves or protect themselves from harm, and have no one to

42. Examples Of Leadership In The Movie Invictus
Leadership at the Movies: Invictus and 5 Leadership Practices
December 20, 2009 by Beverley Simpson
Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood have created another very special movie now playing across
North America. Invictus is the story of Nelson Mandela s early days as President of South Africa, and
particularly how he viewed the country s Rugby team, the Springboks, and an upcoming World Cup
event to be held in South Africa, as an opportunity to bring the country together.
The year is 1995. Mandela (Freeman) is in his first term as President. He recognizes the tremendous
challenges facing his government in a land torn apart by apartheid. Racial tensions are at an all time
high, people are struggling with the effects of crippling unemployment, and a new black government

Pienaar is invited to meet the President and arrives at Government House with trepidation, uncertain
of the reason for the meeting. Mandela s personal style, his warmth, the way he treats everyone around
him with great respect and appreciation completely charms Pienaar who leaves with the realization
that something very significant has just happened to him. During their brief but meaningful time
together Mandela has skillfully Inspired a Shared Vision about the importance and meaning of a
Springboks win to South Africa.
The title of the movie Invictus comes from the Latin meaning Unconquered. We are led to believe that
Mandela had a poem written on a scrap of paper in his prison cell while he was incarcerated. In the
movie, Mandela gives the poem to the team captain Pienaar, before the start of the World Cup. At one
point in the story the Springboks are touring Robbin Island and Pienaar spends a quiet few minutes in
Mandela s old cell contemplating the kind of moral courage it would take to spend 27 years there. He

43. A Summary Of The Murjeras Muralism
The United States is a country built upon freedom but the density of people shaped the country. The
immigrants inspired by the tales of the American Experience soon found those tales were falsely
perceived. People of color battled against discrimination and the lack of equality upon arriving to the
United States. Artists such as Kristine Yuki Aono, Romare Bearden, and the Mujeras Muralists
expresses the emotions their culture experienced, living in the United States through their artwork.
The art installation Relics from Camp created by Aono displays twelve boxes with artifacts from a
different internment camp. In Bearden s collage artwork called The Prevalence of Ritual, he intends to
compare the similarities between black and white by combining pictures that relates to humans. The
Murjeras Muralistas consists of Graciela Carillo, Consuelo Mendez, Irene Perez, and Patricia
Rodriguez, who painted the mural Latinoamerica to convey the message of who they were and where
they came from. The three works of art represents the three different cultures living in the United
States, but share the same ideals of oppression. The Japanese American community suffers from
embarrassment, fear, and angry due to their experiences in the World War II internment camps. World
War II is a time of great repression for the Japanese American families, by relieving them of their
basic rights. Aono visits ten internment camps to collect dirt and other artifacts from this atrocious
time. Family,

Crimes against Humanity Examples in the Nuremberg Trials
Perhaps some of the most popular examples of crimes against humanity are those that were
investigated during the Nuremberg trials, which took position from 1945 to 1949. The very objective
of these 13 trials was to try Nazi Party officials, and also the German doctors, and businessmen,
lawyers who were linked with them, for the crimes they had done against humanity during WWII. The
trials became historic for buildup precedent in how international courts should deal with facts like
genocide and other examples of crimes against humanity.
These crimes start shortly after Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany in 1933. With the Nazi
government, Hitler made and carried out policies designed to persecute the Jews, and anyone else that
he suppose to be a threat to his vision of a perfect Nazi state. Hitler s policies continued to become
more and more threat until World War II at last ended in 1945. By that point, it is estimated that the
Nazis had, with the grant of their government, killed approximately six million Jews, and between
four and six million non Jews.
The trials of the Major War Criminals, heard the cases of twenty four individuals who were accused
on charges of crimes against humanity. Also, six Nazi
