EXISTING PRODUCTS
Capital FM is a network of thirteen radio stations in the
United Kingdom, broadcasting a mix of local and
networked programming. Eleven of the stations are
owned and operated by Global, while the other two are
owned and operated by Communicorp UK under franchise
agreements. I think that the target audience for this radio
show is teenagers, since they play relatively popular
and/or new music straight from the charts. The overall
radio show is quite informal because of the way that they
talk, which is another reason why itโ€™s intended audience
are for teenagers rather than adults.

EXISTING PRODUCTS
Heart is a radio network of 22 adult contemporary local
stations operated by Global in the United Kingdom,
broadcasting a mix of local and networked
programming. Nineteen of the Heart stations are owned
by Global, while the other three are operated under
franchise agreements. I think that the target audience for
this radio show is adults, since they play older music that
hasnโ€™t be released recently. This radio show is more
formal than Capital FM, which is another reason why itโ€™s
intended audience are for teenagers rather than adults.

EXISTING PRODUCTS
Gold is a network of oldies radio stations in the United
Kingdom, which was formed by the merger of the Capital
Gold network and the Classic Gold Network in August
2007. The station relaunched in March 2014 as a partly
automated service, broadcasting in a smaller number of
areas than previously, after many of the local AM/DAB
Gold frequencies were turned over to Smooth Radio. I
think that the target audience for this radio show is for
older people since they play quite old music that perhaps
most teenagers and adults wonโ€™t listen to. This radio
show is more formal than Capital FM and Heart, which is
another reason why itโ€™s intended audience are for
teenagers rather than adults.

What common features do the researched products have?
๏‚ญ All three are linked together because they have similar themes that
they all talk about. Music, for instance, is one of them.
What aspects of the research will you include within your
on work?
๏‚ญ I plan to use the same sort of layout that radio shows use. Which is
that they talk about certain artists and then play music afterwards. I
will do this because itโ€™s easy and also it will make it seem like a real
radio show about music.

Eleven of the stations are owned and operated by Global, while the other two are owned and operated by Communicorp UK under franchise agreements. I think that the target audience for this radio show is teenagers, since they play relatively popular and/or new music straight from the charts. The overall radio show is quite informal because of the way that they talk, which is another reason why itโ€™s intended audience are for teenagers rather than adults. I think that the target audience for this radio show is adults, since they play older music that hasnโ€™t be released recently. I think that the target audience for this radio show is for older people since they play quite old music that perhaps most teenagers and adults wonโ€™t listen to.   • 5. RESEARCH ANALYSIS What common features do the researched products have? ๏‚ญ All three are linked together because they have similar themes that they all talk about. Music, for instance, is one of them. What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? ๏‚ญ I plan to use the same sort of layout that radio shows use. Which is that they talk about certain artists and then play music afterwards. I will do this because itโ€™s easy and also it will make it seem like a real radio show about music.
  • 7. AUDIENCE PROFILE Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience Age Range My primary audience is from the ages 16-25. My secondary audience is from the ages 25-40 โ€ข I chose this particular age range because many people from that category take photos and/or like to look at them. The majority of this age range also use social media, either to look at photos or post their own. Gender Everyone โ€ข My primary audience is both male and female because I think that my product will appeal to both male and female. But I also think that certain topics would appeal more to one person and another topic to another person. Psychographic I think my main type is โ€˜Belongerโ€™ because it covers things that are to do with my products. โ€ข I chose this type of psychographic because I think it suits my audience best. This is because my audience may just prefer one kind of image(s) that has a certain kind of effect on it or something else to do with the photo itself.
