NATURAL LIGHTING IS USED THROUGHOUT OUR MUSIC VIDEO. IT IS USED WHEN FILMING OUTSIDE
AND ALSO INSIDE AS WE FILMED NEAR WINDOWS DURING THE DAY. NATURAL LIGHTING WAS KEY IN
OUR ANCILLARIES AS IT CREATES A BACKLIGHT AND A SIDELIGHT WHEN GETTING PICTURES OF THE
ACTOR HELPING US GET A VARIETY OF SHOTS. THE NATURAL LIGHTING HELPS WITH THE HAPPY AND
UPBEAT FEEL OF THE MUSIC VIDEO, WHICH IS TYPICAL IN AN INDIE-POP VIDEO AS IT IS NOT MEANT TO
BE SERIOUS AND DRAMATIC WHEN WATCHING.

CONVENTION 2 – CAMERA SHOTS
A VARIETY OF CAMERA SHOTS WERE USED IN OUR MUSIC VIDEO, THIS IS TO MAKE SURE THE AUDIENCE
STAYS INTERESTED WHILE WATCHING. CLOSE-UPS ARE THE MOST COMMON SHOTS USED AS THIS
INTRODUCES THE ARTIST THE AUDIENCE. LONG SHOTS AND ESTABLISHING SHOTS ARE USED TO SHOW
THE SETTING OF THE VIDEO AND MAKES THE NARRATIVE CLEAR. IT ALSO HELPS THE AUDIENCE
UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE BEHIND THE VIDEO. WE ALSO USED A GO-PRO TO GET A FIRST PERSON
VIEW, THIS WAS KEY IN OUR VIDEO AS IT WAS BASED AROUND FIRST PERSON-INTERACTIVE
TECHNOLOGY.

CAN BE SHOWN IN MANY FORMS, WHETHER IT BE A RECURRING IMAGE USED ACROSS THEIR MUSIC
VIDEOS, A CERTAIN ITEM OF CLOTHING OR MAKEUP OR EVEN A LYRIC THAT IS SAID AT THE START OF
THEIR VIDEO. THIS IS TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL, UNIQUE STYLE SO THEY ARE
REMEMBERED AND RECOGNISED. THE USP FOR OUR VIDEO IS THE SINGERS HAT. THE HAT IS DIFFERENT
COLOUR FROM THE BACKGROUND AND CLOTHING WHICH MAKES IT STAND OUT IN TURN MAKING
THE PERFORMER STAND OUT. THE VIDEO OF THE HAT CAME FROM WATCHING AN OLLY MURS VIDEO
WHERE HE IS SEEN WEARING A SIMILAR COLOURED HAT.

PROMOTION IS CRITICAL WHEN SELLING RELEASES FOR RECORD LABELS. THE MAJOR ASPECTS FOR
PROMOTION ARE RADIO, PRINT MEDIA, NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES AND ONLINE MEDIA SUCH AS
FACEBOOK. RECORD LABELS ARE PUT ONTO THE DIGIPAK SO THAT PEOPLE KNOW WHO RELEASE THE
MUSIC AND ADVERTISE IT WHICH HELPS PEOPLE KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST AND THE MUSIC
THEY CREATE.

THE COLOUR SCHEME OF THE MAGAZINE MUST INDICATE THE GENRE OF MUSIC THAT IT IS ABOUT, AS
OUR GENRE IS INDIE POP, WE CHOSE TO USE A BLUE BACKGROUND AS IT IS A PLAYFUL COLOUR THAT
IS EASY ON THE EYES. THE COLOUR SCHEME ALSO MATCHES THE ARTISTS COSTUME, THE BLUE TOP
FITS IN THE BACKGROUND WHICH IS APPEALING AND MAKES THE USP OF THE HAT STAND OUT, AS
WELL AS THE ARTIST'S FACE WHICH HELPS WITH HIS IMAGE.
