1. Preschool Year 2
Dear Parents, 2 March – 17 March
Activities we will be doing in Preschool
This term we will be talking about the country of France – its food,
buildings, language and culture. One of our staff members, Christine, is
from France and she weekly teaches the children basic French words. We
will be extending our normal French programme so that the children will
have fun in our French café, book a holiday in our travel agents and travel
over to France during small group role-play activities.
We will be encouraging and extending the children’s ball skills by playing
various catch and pass games with balls. Learning to thrown to another
child, and into a target, helps the children to concentrate and develop
their physical coordination.
Activities to do at home
Go to the library or look on line at some French iconic buildings and
scenes. We will be concentrating on the Eiffel tower so it would be good
for the children to see various pictures of the building.
Play catch with your child. Use different weight and size balls to develop
their hand-eye coordination.
Keep using the laminated letters to talk about the letter sounds and to find
objects that begin with the sounds.
Notices
Don’t forget to ask family and friends for any Sainsbury’s vouchers they
may have. There is a box in the parent’s area to put them in.
Remember parent interviews during week beginning 6th March. If you
haven’t yet made an appointment please speak to a member of staff.
