1. Preschool Year 2
2 -13 February
Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in Preschool
In small groups the children will be taking turns rolling a large dice and
counting the number of dots on it. They will then be able to record their
findings on a board by making a mark under the appropriate number. We
will encourage them to use and understand mathematical language by
asking them which number was rolled the most and which the least.
As it is Chinese New Year in half term we will be celebrating the festival
the week before half-term. We will be talking about the country of China,
making Chinese lanterns, having a Chinese restaurant in the role-play area
and tasting Chinese food at snack time.
Activities to do at home
If you get the opportunity during half-term visit China town in Liverpool to
let your children witness the Chinese New Year and to try out some
Chinese food. If you do go please take some photographs and bring them
in so we can show all the children at register time.
Fruit of the week for the next 2 weeks will be grapes. If your child hasn’t
already tried and liked them please encourage them to taste them.
Notices
Don’t forget we break up for half-term on Friday 13 February and come
back to Preschool on Monday 23 February.
There will be parent interviews on the week commencing the 9 February.
There will be a sign up sheet in the parent’s area.
