Activities we will be doing in Preschool
 The children will be enhancing their scissor skills by cutting around and
through various shaped cards. Developing good scissor control is also
important as it strengthens the muscles needed for writing.
 Throughout all mark making activities we will be encouraging the children
to talk about their pictures and the marks they make. It is fascinating to
hear what the children have to say about their picture and to listen to
their imaginative interpretation of their work.
Activities to do at home
 Make shopping lists with your child so they get used to knowing that
marks have a meaning and can be used in practical situations. Encourage
them to tick the items off as you buy them or unpack them at home.
 Playdough and other types of modelling clay are a great way to develop
the necessary muscles needed for mark making. It is also a fun activity for
all the family
Notices
 You should all have a letter about the Christmas Nativity play. All adult
family members are welcome but please no siblings as any noise could
mean that another parent cannot hear their child’s line.
 Thank you so much for all your contributions of cake, time and money last
Friday for Children in Need. We not only raised £258.84 but had great fun
in the process.
