Year 1 At Home sheet

Dear Parents,
Welcome to Pre-school. We hope that both you and your child have
enjoyed your settling in sessions and are now ready to begin your
exciting pre-school journey with us.
We are sure that your child will have a lot of fun here but some will
settle more quickly than others. To help us with this process please
remember to keep talking positively to them about their experiences.
In session we will be concentrating on getting to know your child and
helping them build relationships with their key-person and their new
friends.
As part of our curriculum we have a ‘rhyme of the week’. For the next 2
weeks this will be ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ which we shall sing every day
and would encourage you to do the same at home. In this way we shall
soon build up a repertoire of favourite rhymes which are not only fun to
sing together but will also help language development.
Notices:
 We are a ‘Health promoting Setting’ which means that we encourage
the children to be healthy. To support us in this we request that parents
do not bring sweets or cakes for the children to share on their
birthdays. We will celebrate their birthdays in session by singing, and
sharing their birthday news.
 Please remember that your child should be collected at either 11am or
3pm for the first two weeks.
 Please dress your children appropriately so that they are both
comfortable and safe. Also remember to bring a clearly named and well
stocked changing bag in case of accidents. Thank you.
