Who Was The Nationalist Movement Of Zionism
The nationalist movement of Zionism emerged out of the Jewish people s need for
a national state of their own. This idea harkens back to the establishment of the
Kingdom of Israel after the Exodus. The Holy Land and all of its historic prestige
persisted in Jewish culture as they spread throughout the Diaspora for 2000 years.
Restrictions and persecution followed the Jewish people as they were met with
prejudice throughout Eastern and Western Europe. Organized political Zionismgrew
from tsarist Russia, where pogroms carried out against the Russian and Polish Jews
in the 1880 s killed thousands. Originating in Russia in 1884, an agency named the
Lovers of Zion assisted the emigration of Jews to Palestine, where they organized
small farms. During this time Leon Pinsker wrote Auto Emancipation , a Zionist
pamphlet in which he posits an answer to the Jewish Question . He argues that
Jews are despised all over the world, and are viewed as aliens that cannot be
assimilated. He also states, Since it is not to be our mission to reform mankind, we
must see what we have to do for ourselves under the circumstances.
Another prominent Zionist activist was Theodor Herzel who wrote the Jewish State
in 1896, where he asserts that the Jews comprised a nation without a political state.
It is important to note that both Pinsker and Herzel did not directly name Palestine
as the location for a Jewish state. The following year, Herzel organized the first

Abstract
In the present work AISI 316L stainless steel samples have been welded by MIG
welding. Butt joints have been made. Plate thickness is kept constant (= 3mm).
Some important parameters have been varied during welding. Thus several butt
welded joints have been made. Each sample of the joints has been prepared under
certain combination of welding parameters. The parameters considered for variation,
in the present work have been welding current, gas flow rate and nozzle to plate
distance. The design of experiment has been done using L9 Taguchi design of
experiment. The influence of the process parameters (mainly current, gas flow rate
and nozzle to plate distance) has been examined visually and also through X ray
radiographic tests. Next, samples have been cut, machined to conform to some
specified dimensions for tensile testing. The quality of the weld has been evaluated in
terms of ultimate strength, yield strength and percentage of elongation of the

I really like the idea of being able to write a story without having to use description.
I feel like in life, people are more fueled by what is said, rather than what they are
doing while they say it. Also, I want to see how different it is to read people s
moods without the help of description. This is just a brief dialogue section I wrote.
It might be the middle of a story, but just kind of liked it. Hope to add more
sometime in the future.

No one wants to show their true selves because they think they will be judged.
Since everyone does the same thing no one ever gets to see that other people are
like them too. We smile and tell lies to people because we do not think they care
about the truth. Maybe they cannot handle it. Sometimes the smile falters and the
truth can be seen, but no one ever pays attention. Maybe they do not want to. The
world does not need to know all our problems. We become vulnerable and
susceptible to getting hurt when we reveal our true selves. We keep the masks on.
Behind our masks we cry out in anguish. We shed tears of our pasts and the roads

Teaching Mathematics and Filippino Student Performance
Rationale
Most mathematics teachers have observed that many students have poor performance
in mathematics. Classroom researches over the years show that mathematics
instruction has continuously been taught in a traditional manner wherein only a few
students understand and grasp the concepts (Winters, Cerulli, Bjork, Mor, 2006).
Teaching mathematics has been viewed as unappealing to the majority of students
and has been outdated and not connected with their interests and experiences,
bringing about poor performance in mathematics (Goodrum, Hackling, Rennie, 2001).
Comparing to international standards, the performance of Filipino students in
mathematics is far below the desired outcome. In the 2003 international exam for
mathematics and sciences, the Philippines ranked 23rd among 25 participants in
the elementary level with an average score of 358 compared to the average of 495
while for the grade 8 or 13 year old level, the country ranked 42nd among 45
participants with an average score of 377 compared to the international average of
466 (Juon, 2004). This shows the poor performance of students in mathematics.
To answer this concern, the Department of Education promulgated different means of
improving the curriculum. The latest of these changes is the DepEd Order No. 73 S.
2012. This order emphasizes on implementing the standards based assessment and
rating system to support the progressive roll out starting with grades 1 and 7 of the k

Tata Motors Singur Case (Nano Controversy)
Introduction
I have taken the case on Tata Motors Ltd. The case was all about on the Tata Nano
Singur Controversy. This controversy refers to the Tata s Nano Factory at Singur in
Hooghly district in West Bengal, India. Since Tata MotorsStarted constructing the
factory over there in Singur, the small place comes into the media worldwide. Tata
Motors started this factory to manufacture 25000 cars firstly. The plans of Tata
Motors were that Nano will come out from the factory by 2008 for rolling out the
roads.
Tata Motors Ltd. is the largest Indian automobile company having the revenues of
USD 20 billion in 2009 10. Tata Motors is the leader in the manufacturing of ... Show

As the Nano project will be beneficial for the both parties, Tata will get the desired
place for the manufacturing of the Nano and West Bengal will also benefited. In
this case, the main issue was that Industry, government and agriculture comes at
the crossroads. There are so many implications for the external factors which come
into this picture. As CPI had won the election for the seventh consecutive time in
West Bengal, CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has the vision to make the West
Bengal an industrialized state which will help the people to upgrade their
standards. CM was very happy that government has recommended the Singur for
the Nano Plant. As Ratan Tata was looking for the place where he would able to
control the cost and place would be cheap so that he can provide the people the car
of worth Rs. 1 lakh. So, Ratan Tata accepts the proposal from the West Bengal
government because at Singur the cost of its operation would be less and Tata will
get benefited out of it. The statistical data of Hooghly district on Singur block is
that 83% of the land is irrigated and crop density is 220%. The landholders in the
Singur were very small. All have the land in the small proportions. There are a large
number of migrant workers over there; it implies that Tata would get the cheap and
easy labor over there in the Singur. On May 18, 2006, there was the announcement by
the West Bengal government for the beginning of the project at Singur. Ratan Tata

I sat there for the longest time. No one spoke, or if they did, I certainly wasn t
listening. I mulled over everything I had thought about him. The way we spoke with
each other. How I felt when I was with him. Everything pointed back to one answer,
but it only made me depressed.
I really liked Ciel.
Alice? someone asked. I snapped out of my daze. I d know that voice anywhere.
I turned in my chair and smiled, Ciel! I got up and hugged him tightly. He seemed a
bit awkward about it, but wrapped his arms around me.
When I pulled away, I was full of concern, Are you okay? Did you get hurt? I m so
sorry, Ciel! I... I didn t know how to help you.
It s fine. We re back together now, right? That s what matters, he said. I nodded in
agreement. I was a little surprised he was brushing it off so easily. With anyone else,
he would have chewed them out for it. I was grateful for the reaction, of course, but
considering the recent revelation, my thoughts drifted to reasons of the change.
There is no more room, March Hare told Ciel.
Yes, no more room at all, Hatter joked. He gave me a knowing smile. He knew that
I had figured it out. If I hadn t, I wouldn t have hugged Ciel. I averted my eyes,
angry for him being right at all. He had just made things a zillion times harder
because of pointing out that little fact. I really hadn t needed it.
Come, don t say that. Have a seat, Dormouse talked in his sleep.
I haven t said anything, yet, Ciel pointed out.
Nursing Misconduct
The nurse s action of giving both doses at 1700, since she missed to give it at 0800,
and recorded it that they were given at prescribed times is an act of professional
misconduct. In fact, according to the College of Nurses of Ontario that Inaccurate
documentation or failure to document may put the client s health in jeopardy
(College of Nurses of Ontario, pp 9). The nurse has the responsibility to report any
missed medications. Also, it is the nurse s responsibility to assure that every
information that is recorder on patient s file is truthful and accurate. Therefore, the
nurse may undergo investigations and could potentially loss or suspend her or his

After conducting a t test and regression in R, we can conclude that vegetation
cover differs on and off a prairie dog colony meaning that prairie dogs have a
significant effect of grassland vegetation by increasing vegetation richness and
diversity. As we already said, there was a greater variety of plants in the grassland
region with prairie dogs than in the region without prairie dogs. The fact that there
is more vegetation on a prairie dog colony region than off a prairie dog colony
suggests that sites inhabited by prairie dog populations will have a richer
distribution of plants and a healthier prairie ecosystem. Kotliar, N. B. (1999) and
Koford, C. B. (1958) also reported in their studies that grass abundance and plant

The Influence Of Intelligence On Childbirth
Intelligence is acquired in many different ways. It describes the ability of someone
s way of thinking, planning, learning, and understanding problems and situations
that may appear in one s life. As we grow up, we start to ask ourselves how
intelligence affects our way of birth and as well as in our daily lives. Questions and
curiosity will always knock our innocent minds.
As Medical Technology students, we do not have any knowledge about how
intelligence influence our ways of childbirth and on what we are today. We come up
to think which is better and safer, vaginal delivery or C section?
Vaginal birth or otherwise known as normal delivery is considered as the most
common and affordable way of childbirth. But in our generation today, an increasing

However, it may be convenient for them as it sounds, but sometimes convenience
comes at a cost and also might not be the best way to welcome your baby. Not
knowing that more women are unaware that babies born by caesarean sections are
much more likely putting the lives of their babies at risk. It develops health
problems that the newborns who are delivered naturally do not experience. They
missed out the critical hormone and physiological changes during labor, which
help babies develop, risk of becoming obese children, asthmatic and diabetic as
they grow and more likely develops chronic diseases later in life. Specifically, when
it comes to its intelligent quotient, our research has shown that women who give
birth naturally have a higher level of intelligence because of the special protein,
UCP2 present in the babies brains that helps boost intelligent level and nurtures their
short and long term memory which are the key components of human IQ as they
grow up. And the study found out that babies born by caesarean have lower levels of
brain boosting UCP2 than those born naturally. This protein is mainly linked for
memory development and storage. In addition, UCP2 is also known to help improves
the chances of newborns breastfeeding, which normal birth has the shorter stay and
recovery time, which results in early contact with the baby and breastfeed sooner
which also connects to the impact of breast milk to newborns cognitive development.
Our study aimed at testing who has the higher intelligent quotient between the two:
normal birth or caesarean babies. It is hypothesized that babies born naturally have
higher IQ s than those delivered caesarean

Abstract
Increasing evidence supports an important role of oligodendrocytes and myelination
in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. Oligodendrocytes are the myelin producing cells
in the central nervous system. To test the myelination dysfunction hypothesis of
schizophrenia, possible myelination dysfunction was evaluated in a phencyclidine

Dysfunction of neural networks has been demonstrated by chemical and physiologic
imaging in the brains of schizophrenic patients (McClure et al., 1998). Myelin
dysfunction produces abnormal connectivity of neural networks. The lipid rich
myelin possesses high electrical resistance and low capacitance, and thus acts as an
insulator around axons. Damage to the myelin is accompanied by a decrease in
conduction velocity and, when severe, cessation of conduction. Dysregulation of
myelination related genes in chronic schizophrenia has been revealed by genome
wide expression analysis (Hakak et al., 2001), and deficits in myelin associated
mRNA and protein expression have been reported in brains of elderly schizophrenic
patients (Dracheva et al., 2006). In addition, abnormalities of myelination neuro
imaging and ultrastructural pathology of myelinated fibers and oligodendrocytes
have been observed in schizophrenic brains (Flynn et al., 2003; Orlovskaya and
Uranova, 1997). Therefore, the pathological process underlying schizophrenia may
involve an abnormality of brain myelin affecting white matter (Davis et al., 2003;
Finelli, 1985; Hageman et al., 1995).
Oligodendrocytes are the myelin producing

Distribution Of Medical Care Should Be Distributed On
The...
Bernard Williams declares that the proper grounds for distribution of healthcare is ill
health and that this statement is a necessary truth. In this paper, I will argue that
Williams is correct in believing that the distribution of medical care should be based
on the ill health, but is incorrect in his assumption that this claim is in fact a
necessary truth. I will begin by explaining the relevance of inequality to the question
of distribution of healthcare, with the focus being on the distinction between
inequality of merit and the inequality of need. I will then move on to illustrating
why Williams believes that medical care should be distributed on the basis of ill
health. Finally, I will explain why I believe that Williams is... Show more content on

One important and perhaps obvious distinction to make here is that everyone who
has a need for a particular good, also desires it and everyone who has sufficient
merit to receive a good may not necessarily desire it. Goods are frequently
distributed in accordance with one of these two principles. For example, a
university education is a good that is often acquired due to someone being in
possession of adequate merit. Goods which are distributed on the basis of merit,
often contain a competitive element. Forms of equality exist within this competitive
realm to secure the notion of fairness; this action is referred to as the preservation of
equality of opportunity. Williams articulates that, at least in theory, this aspect of the
good is distributed equally, preserving just distribution, while the good itself may
not be dispersed evenly. When speaking of one s right to healthcare, Williams
believes that the sole appropriate factor in distribution is ill health. This belief is
rooted in the notion that the inequality present in this situation is the inequality of
need and that merit should not be a factor in the distributive decision making
process. Williams believes that healthcare should be strictly distributed on the basis
of need. This may seem like a simple claim which is obvious to the distributor and
need not be analyzed further. However,
Starvation And Its Effects On Life
Starvation. Not many people know what that feels like, but I do. You know the
feeling of pain in your abdomen when you have gone too long without eating?
Now, imagine that pain turning to numbness and you have this empty ache deep
inside. Have you ever gotten caught up in something and skipped a meal or
forgotten to eat? You know how your body gets weak and tired and sometimes, if
your blood sugar gets too low, you start to shake? Imagine if that became your
normal and every second of everyday you felt like that. That. is what starvation
feels like. The sad part was, I did it to myself. I was in a downward spiral, oblivious
to the people around me, as they tried to catch me before I hit rock bottom. Despite
their best efforts, I hit rock bottom, quite literally actually, and I was left broken,
looking up at what my life could have and should have been. In the last five months
I had lost almost half of my body weight and I had given up on living. I had
reached the point where I would go as much as ten days between meals, and by
meal I mean an apple and a slice of turkey, only just enough to keep myself alive. I
could barely stand for more than fifteen minutes at a time, and every single time I
stood up, black spots would flash across my vision. I would shake and shiver all the
time, even in extremely hot weather. To be honest, I was starting to die. Now, many
people would not consider passing out as a life defining moment, but for me it was. I
was standing, talking to my

There are several Macaroni and Cheese recipes in this world. I have tried quite a
few different types of Macaroni and Cheese dishes, but none of them could compare
to my families Macaroni and Cheese recipe. The reason why my families Macaroni
and Cheese is unique is because of the cultural significance and how it is made. For
starters, my native background is, Haitian Creole Macaroni and Cheese can either
be pronounced by Makawoni au Graten or Macaroni au Gratin . I grew up eating
this dish daily and at every family function. Since this happens to be one of my
favorite Haitian dishes I look for at every single family function, I thought it would

But in reality, they are completely different from it physically looks and the
ingredients used to make this dish. For starters the type of noodles used to make this
recipe is different because you never use elbow pasta. Instead you would use penne,

Mayonnaise is also added in the dish which is not a common thing in typical

always needs to be baked in order for it to taste good. You can t make it as if you
cook mac and cheese out of a Kraft s box otherwise, you will get your normal
typical looking Macaroni and Cheese meal. There are so many different types of
recipes for Macaroni au Gratin. Some people would add ground beef, ham, or even

The Rise Of Asymmetric Warfare
Question: Analyze the rise of asymmetric warfare. Provide illustrations and assess
how it has reshaped behaviors and outcomes.
The asymmetry in asymmetric warfare is an inherently relational concept. It refers to
an irregular conflict that is distinct by the relative dissimilarity between opponents in
battle. The asymmetry is derived from the character of warfare and dictated by the
difference in relational power amid warring sides. This asymmetry has tended to be
in terms of status and organization; means and resources, goals and objectives; and
strategies and tactics. The relationship between the belligerents in almost all conflicts
has varied in many tactical, strategic and operational levels.
A popular perception of today claims that there has been a relatively recent rise in
asymmetric warfare, or conventional irregular warfare that has transformed war from
a customary and symmetric exercise into an irregular, avant garde, asymmetric
experience. This perception is inherently at the foundation of the question in which
this essay attempts to respond. In contrast with this perspective, the main argument of
this essay is that asymmetric warfare, although definitely a characteristic of the times
is not a new genus of warfare that has risen in the twentieth century as a distinct
revolution in military affairs. Furthermore, asymmetric warfare cannot be used as a
description to describe deviation from Western norms in this case conflict. Rather,
asymmetric warfare
Swot Analysis Of Toyota
Opportunities The Toyota Camry has several opportunities for growth and continued
prosperity in the United States and around the world. These opportunities are as
follows: Expanding sedan segment to accommodation competition Acquiring
collaborations with automobile business entities Augment distribution and servicing
network The Market Segment revealed it would be in the best interest for Toyota to
select the Differentiated Targeting Strategy versus the Undifferentiated and the
Concentrated Targeting Strategy (Ahuja, 2017). Considering Toyota, we find that it

Distribution: Keeping it simple, the Toyota way! Whatever you need, we will have
it ready for you right way, or else the customers might take the business somewhere
else. This is why it is so important to have the product available at the right time at
the right Place (Banikapoor, 2016). As stated at the beginning Toyota is all over the
world providing what the customer needs. In the United States customers are
concerned with environmental safety and other parts of the world the customers are
more concerned about fuel efficiency than the environment. Toyota s goal is to meet
the need of the consumer. Thus, place strategy, which is sometimes referred to as
distribution strategy plays a fundamental role in the marketing mix of a product or a

Freedom Of Speech In Political Cartoons
The editorial, weaponized words written by Kate Manne and Jason Stanley is a cry
for help in the world of politics, which argues that the freedom of speech laws allow
for the voices of dominant social groups to overpower those that are inferior. This
opinion is also shown in the third political cartoon provided, that shows two different
social groups under the same freedom of speechumbrella, who have to deal with each
other constantly trying to oppress the other. These laws make it hard for any
advancement of the lower class societies.
The belief that the freedom of speech laws, or the first amendment, need to be
more concrete can be seen in the first political cartoon. This cartoon shows, again,
two rival social groups, both are equals, however one of the social groups is using
their freedom of speech in a improper way, and they are not being punished or
prohibited in any way. This shows the oppression of a certain social group that is not
being stopped. Much like in the editorial, which states that Yale students are being
pressured into not wearing certain halloween costumes because they offend others ,
the cartoon shows the use of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author(s) stated that to truly have freedom of speech, one must be able to
question, contradict, and even lampoon the assertions of others meaning you should
be able to disagree with another person s claims, publicly if needed or wanted. This
is shown in the second cartoon, where the NRA member is telling people, in a rude
and unnecessary manner, that he disagrees with what they are doing. At the top of
the cartoon, it states if only we had an NRA to defend the first amendment which
shows the belief that the first amendment is not getting enough support and
protection, yet smaller programs like the NRA are standing up for less important
things than the freedom of speech, like newspaper

Professional Counseling Focuses on Development, Wellness...
Professional counseling is different from other counseling and psychology related
fields. The desire of social work is to help the destitute. Psychology wants to
understand the nature of a person. Psychiatry deals with medical interventions.
Professional counseling which officially grew out of the vocational counseling
movement of the twentieth century (Neukrug, 2014) tends to focus on development,
prevention and wellness (Mellin, Hunt, Nichols, 2011). It is this focus on
development, prevention and wellness that brings challenge to the role and identity
of the professional counselor at times, but also gives the professional counselor
direction, especially in the area of specialization (Mellin, Hunt, Nichols, 2011).
Professional Counselors are clinical mental health counselors that have graduated
from an accredited university with a degree in clinical mental health counseling or
a similar degree in counseling. The Master s level degree at Liberty University for
the professional counselor is a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. The degree
is maintained by accreditation requirements and most schools offering degrees in
professional counseling are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling
and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The degree is moving toward a 60
hour requirement (some still have a 48 hour requirement) and the graduate student
has the opportunity to join various professional organizations in order to help with

Literary Criticism Of Literature And Literature
Literature has no set definition, mainly because throughout history writers, as well
as literary historians have failed to construct an agreeable definition (Bressler 12).
When one thinks of literature, he or she should think of literary criticism different
critical perspectives. Literary criticism requires readers to analyze literary texts
with knowledge of theories. Thus, the next time one reads a text, he or she should
first identify the theory that he or she plans to use. The theories represent a set of
critical lens that one will use to analyze the text critically. For instance, this paper
will focus on the New Criticism theory; it is a theory that requires readers to focus
entirely on the text itself. Readers do not need to focus on... Show more content on

From a New Critic perspective, when analyzing a poem, it is pivotal for readers to
pay close attention to the poem s structure and form, especially since it can help him
or her understand the poem s overall meaning.
In life, human beings will encounter many challenging obstacles throughout his or
her long and stressful journey here on earth, especially since success is the
ultimate goal that he or she wishes to achieve. In the first quatrain of Angelou s
poem, a simile is depicted: You may trod me in the very dirt / But still, like dust, I
ll rise (3 4). Here, it is evident that Angelou wants readers to realize that life will
step on he or she as if him or her is a pile of dirt; however, if he or she is determined
to overcome his or her challenges, he or she will rise just like dust. The simile
depicted in quatrain one, forces readers, from a New Critic viewpoint, to realize that
the essential meaning of Angelou s poem lies within each line of the poem objective
meaning.
Furthermore, in life, human beings will encounter different individuals exposure to
diversity. Human beings learn from one another; however, certain people tend to
encounter human beings who are miserable with his or her life. In fact, people
who feel dejected tend to not motivate others to achieve his or her lifelong goals
this is portrayed in quatrain six of Angelou s poem: You may kill me with your
hatefulness, / But still, like air, I ll rise (23 24). Here, Angelou uses a

It is stated by McInerney McInerney that Overemphasis on one type of developmental
readiness such as reading readiness, for example may preclude learners from
demonstrating that they are more capable in other areas of performance (McInerney,
D.M McInerney, V. 2002) Therefore the same theory would apply to a student having
physical developmental readiness. Through physical activity students grow their
motor skills and enables them to utilise them in learning environments such as the
class room. In kindergarten students the motor skills would be a lot less developed
that that if a year 6 student, so when planning a physical activity this needs to be
taken into account. The benefits of implementing physical activity into the
curriculum of students are not only a valuable asset to the students health and well
being, but also to their learning development. Physical activity promotes healthy
growth and development of the cardio respiratory system, enabling oxygen to travel
throughout their bodies helping with healthy muscle and bone growth in children.
Physical activity also promotes social health benefits in children giving them more
confidence and vital social skills development Our Bodies and our brains are

Chinese Foreign Relations During The Imperial Era
Among the plethora of events which have influenced modern China s foreign policy,
the so called century of humiliation holds particular sway. Also known as the
hundred years of national humiliation , it refers to the period of intervention and
imperialism by western powers and Japan in China from 1839 to 1949. It has had a
profound impact on how the decision makers in Chinahave perceived the world order
since then and has heavily influenced China s policies on a strategic, political and
military front. During the imperial period, China s relations with its neighbours and
people of other ethnic groups was heavily clouded by Sino centrism and a concept of
Chinese superiority through the tribute system (John K Fairbank). Although... Show

Defeats in wars led to harsh treaties, territorial loss, repeated episodes of foreign
barbarism, waning of Chinese influence in many areas in Asia and exploitation of
its rights by foreign powers. Starting from the first Opium War, China experienced
military defeats and loss of its territory and influence in Asia. This experience
made the Chinese people aware that China was inferior to the foreign powers (1968
Lucian). China s defeat in the Sino Japanese war sent a great tremor among the
Chinese people. It was perhaps the final nail in the coffin of the century of
humiliation as Japan was always regarded as a tributary or inferior barbarian country
by the Chinese. All this led to a belief in the need of self strengthening and
intensifying its military by enriching the country and importing western technology
to fit itself to the new world order with effective diplomacy in order to maintain its
national security, leverage and status. From 1860 to 1896, the Self Strengtheners tried
to draw western expertise and technology to strengthen China militarily (The legacy
of the past).
This time period also led them to understand the need of allying with other
countries in order to survive. For example, memories of Japanese atrocities led to
the Chinese alliance with the USSR in 1949 and again normalizing relations with
Russia in the 1980 s as Japan re emerged as a

The Business Judgment Rule Has Served For Decades As
The...
The business judgment rule has served for decades as the most important protection
against personal liability for directors and officers. And it also has been criticized
frequently as providing too much protection for the directors and officers of
corporations. It is the time for some changes to be made to business judgment rule. A:
Economic Environment Changes The business judgment rule is designed to prevent
courts from second guessing the quality of a decision, which made by directors and
officers. Because the modern organizational structure of corporations allows
shareholders, who actually own the corporationto elect a board of directors to manage
the corporation, these directors and officers have more business experience and are
more familiar with the needs, strengths, and limitations of the corporation than
shareholders and the courts. Therefore the business judgment rule recognizes that
the directors and officers are best able to make business judgments. The business
judgment rule originated in 1945 in Otis Co. v. Pennsylvania R. Co [2], the
corporate directors were sued because they only dealing with one investment house
and not shop around for the best possible price available in the sale of securities.
The federal district court held that the directors chose the wrong course of action in
good faith therefore do not subject to liability for negligence in the discharge of their
appointed duties. This case offers two primary

Obsessive Compulsive Eating Disorder Essay
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
One kind of anxiety disorder is obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). This disease
can ruin a person s life because it causes them to have repetitive thoughts and
behaviors towards certain things. Life can become very difficult because this way of
thinking and acting is very difficult to overcome, especially since the obsessions
have no point and are stressful for the person. It begins to interfere with the person s
school, work, and/or home.

People used to believe that OCD was caused by the experiences in the patient s
childhood. For example, parents putting unnecessary force on the child for a clean
environment. Scientists have learned that it is due to more than just childhood
experiences. They have realized that the disorder is caused by the environmental
stresses, neurobiological factors, and even what the patient recognizes as being right
or wrong.
People with OCD show differences in brain activity compared to other people. They
also have less white matter in the brain than normal people. These results have been
obtained using brain imaging machines.
Victims of OCD may also have other diseases. Some have Tourette s syndrome. This
is when the person has movement spasms and vocal outbreaks. Others have impulses
to pull out their hair and to perfect their appearance. Yet others are afraid to catch a
disease, even though doctors have reassured them that there are no defects in their
health.
Victims deal with their problem in different ways. Some try to block their
obsessions so they do not have to deal with their compulsions. They are able to
hide their secret during the time they are in school or work. Over the years their
condition gets worse, and they are unable to control themselves. By the time they get
some professional help, they already have had the disease for some time. The
symptoms may last for years with some mild periods and some harsh

Grendel s Pain
In John Gardner s Grendel, Grendel states, Tedium is the worst pain (138). Grendel
views boredom as an expression of his painful, purposeless existence. Perpetual
boredom has steadily increased and intensifies in chapter ten leading Grendel to be
anxious for something to happen. Ironically, Grendel claims nothing is happening,
and all is boring, yet filled with longing and expecting for something big to happen
soon. Grendel s search intensifies and becomes desperate at the event of the Shaper s
death. He feels utterly alone and isolated. It seems Grendel can only talk to himself.

words while standing in frozen company in the shadow of a funeral fire. Is he the
only one moved by the Shaper s death? Grendel sees everyone as stiff and frozen
blue like ice. His own mother acts only to prevent him from deepening his
pessimistic tendency revealed by the loss. She tries to get in his way. She attempts
to block his view of the funeral procession. Grendel s Nietzschean philosophy
continues to take shape in the wake of the Shaper s death. Grendel groans, We re on

Grendel prefers to develop a loneliness and Isolation theme as he struggles for
identity and purpose in life. He journeys past his mother s attempts to protect him

Her whoops cannot stop him from moving on as he comforts himself to believe, I

spirit persists in conflicted loneliness. The Shaper s hopeful song about thaw and
spring rain echoes from the lips of a young man only to meet empty, lonely space

The nutrients needed in the human diet are amino acids, fatty acids, minerals,

which are almost, always present in human diets but specific carbohydrates are not

Types Systems And Traditional Soil Based Systems
Microbes, Bio Diversity and Overall Plant Health and How They Relate to Long
Term Space Life Support Systems
Abstract
The interactions between plant diversity, microbes, and overall plant health is not
fully understood here on Earth nor in space. There have been studies on these
interactions in hydroponic type systems and traditional soil based systems each
coming to varying conclusions and none really uncovering a clear path forward. I
read through many articles on plant microbe interactions, plant disease in hydroponic
systems, and plant health with relation to plant diversity and ecosystem structure.
Overall the message is clear. More research is needed to better understand these
complex interactions and how they affect the long term viability of bio regenerative
closed ecological systems (CES). Although, research is slowly progressing and shows
promising signs that these interactions can be better understood and utilized to
enhance closed system plant cultivation and ultimately long duration closed
regenerative Life Support (LS) systems.
Introduction There is a renewed focus among the space community for long duration
deep space missions to destinations such as the Moon, Mars, and asteroids along
with a desire to build long term human settlements on Mars. These far flung missions
will not be able to solely rely on traditional LS systems that have been used
throughout the history of manned space flight. These traditional LS systems rely on

finally Russia, once his mission becomes more serious. During his adventure Alex

He is a very smart boy, with quick reflexes and a fast working mind. Alex is
depicted as a tall, handsome kid, with beautiful blonde hair and bright white teeth.
Rider is a very athletic kid as he can play almost any sport presented to him, but he is
also very strong, flexible and coordinated. Another main character is Alexei Sarov, a
retired Russian General. Sarov lost his son after forcing him to serve in the army,
where he was shot and killed. Once the Sarov sent off his son to the military he
drove off his wife, leaving himself alone. After his son died, Sarov retired to Cayo
Esqueleto where he became rich from his sugar farm. And being alone for so long,
Sarov became a little crazy and when he saw Alex Rider he was reminded of his
son and that left him wanting to have Alex as a son. The final main two characters
are Carver and Troy from the United States Central Intelligence Agency. The two
have worked together before so they seemed almost like a married couple with a
son. Alex was used by Carver and Troy to create the illusion of the trio being a
family on vacation. Carver was a tall, strong man that had a good sense of humor
and enjoyed talking with Alex, but Troy rarely talked to Alex even though she
seemed like the perfect
A Brief Note On The Defence Meteorological Satellite

1.4 Literature Review 1.4.1 Locating and Quantifying Flaring Activities Although
gas flaring has been a fundamental activity in the oil and gas industry since the
discovery of oil, the exact magnitude of the problem both globally and regionally
has been uncertain, reported data from governments and independent oil companies

Accounting Reporting Criteria In order to keep up with the times most organizations
of today are finding themselves consistently coming up with different ways to keep
accounting information personal as well as accurate. Providing good accounting
information not only leads to better decisions but also increase in profit. Even two
different organizations that provide a similar product or service have completely
different ways of reporting their accounting information. Throughout this essay, Team

This act requires all officers to review accounting documents before they have been
submitted and sign off on them, make sure that all off balance sheets are reported,
disclose to the public all material changes that have taken place within the company
over a given year, and lays down penalties for those who do not follow these
requirements. The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board monitors businesses
to make sure they comply with the act. GM, although it has failed to comply with
regulations and has filed for bankruptcy in 2009, is on track to fulfill these standards
in 2010.
International Accounting Standards
Toyota a foreign company based in Japan follows the reporting standards of the IASB
or the International Accounting Standards Board. The IASB is an independent board
that develops standards using due process. This process consists of six different
stages, which have been taken directly from the IASB web site and are located
below... 1. Setting the agenda 2. Planning the project 3. Developing and publishing
the discussion paper 4. Developing and publishing the exposure draft 5. Developing
and publishing the standard 6. After the standard is issued (IASB 2009 pg 2)
After such standards are set, the IASB also works with other boards in order to
make sure that all the standards have been met and are being practiced effectively.

Comparing the Speeches of Mark Antony and Brutus in Julius Caesar
The play Julius Caesar was first performed in 1599 at the Globe theatre in London.
The Globe theatre was built earlier that year and Julius Caesar was one of the first
plays performed there. This gives us reason to believe that the play was written
towards the end of 1598 and beginning of 1599.
William Shakespeare wrote the play Julius Caesar because Plutarchs Lives , William
Shakespeare s source of history, allowed him to use his imagination and create a
sell out play. In the history book of most of the facts are the same as William
Shakespeare s however he had to change some of the events in order to make it into

That if Rome were to be run by an ambitious man such as Julius Caesar then it would
be for the worst.
Mark Antony was not as fortunate with regards to family as Brutus, however he
was highly respected by Julius Caesar and Mark Antony treated him as a loyal,
close friend. Mark Antony was a logical thinker and it was this fact that made him
an excellent soldier along with him being skill full, and cunning in his approach to
life. He claimed to not have the skills of an orator, however this is ironic and he in
fact was one of the greatest orators of his time. He was driven by his emotions so
therefore he is going to whole heartedly persuade the crowd into his way of thinking,
to avenge the death of Julius Caesar and cause a riot against the conspirators.
Brutus task is to calm the crowd and to persuade them that he had a valid reason for
the joint murder of Julius Caesar, therefore he begins with the line
Romans, countrymen and lovers, hear me for my cause
Appealing to their sense of patriotism with the word Romans and suggesting that he
is very passionate in his reasons for joining the conspirators

The Grapes of Wrath
The Journey of the Joads and the Journey of Humanity nbsp; In Steinbeck s novel,
The Grapes of Wrath, he describes the struggle of the small farmer and
farmworker. The principal characters define quiet dignity and courage in their
struggle to survive and in the caring for their loved ones. Through this novel,
Steinbeck displays his respect for all the poor and oppressed of our world. nbsp;
The journey of the Joads represents Steinbeck s message of respect for the poor and
oppressed on three levels. The first is literal: he used the journey and its ever
changing environment to put the Joads through many situations. The second level is
general: the journey of the Joads can be seen as the same that forced farmers to

As each character involved in the situation reacts, we are able to see Steinbeck s
respect for the poor shining through. The never say die efforts of Uncle John to
stop the rising flood water is one example of Steinbeck s unremitting struggle
theme. The constant effort of the entire Joad family to find work, even though
they are poor, oppressed and hungry, show us that Steinbeck wants to show their
tremendous courage and dignity. In this way, Steinbeck is able to use the journey
structure to describe these fine qualities he sees and respects in the poor. nbsp; If
we read a little deeper in The Grapes of Wrath, we find the journey of the Joads
mirrors that of other Okies and other forced migrations in history. The journey of
the Joads has its ups and downs. Migrants are not always received with open arms;
they are persecuted and looked upon as not even human. For them the promised
land becomes the land of despair. In many ways, the journey of the black Africans
to America as slaves is similar to the dust bowl migrations. Both are forced from
the land that they love by almost non human forces. They were taken to the land of
riches where they were poor. The slaves were however taken by force but the
Okies were seduced by the lure of work and prosperity. nbsp; To help understand
the third and deepest level of reading, we can apply a mathematical idea, that is the
Fractal Idea of Sameness, that things are identical at different levels. For example, if

Youth Marketing
After a moving target by Jo Bowman 5 Nov 04, 08:49 Asia s youth may be a
moving target but targeted traditional media, from print to radio, can still work
Parents used to bemoan the fact that their kids were constantly glued to the set; now
they despair that young people don t seem to focus on anything for more than a few
minutes. Sure, they re still watching TV, but no longer are they couch potatoes,
absorbing everything that flashes across the screen; they re flicking channels, flicking
through a magazine, texting their friends or moving to a PC a growing culture of
impatience that began with the remote control and is now seen to an extreme degree
in the region s young. For marketers, this means a single shot strategy... Show more

In India, the TV line up for younger children has grown this year, with the launch of
Cartoon Network s sister channel Pogo, with programming ranging from Barney
Friends for pre schoolers, up to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone and the
animated Mr Bean series for older children. While in Thailand, Virgin Radio Asia
has just launched two new radio stations aimed at young listeners. Stations in the
northern university city, Chiang Mai, and on the holiday island of Ko Samui, are
in addition to the four stations Virgin has launched in Bangkok since entering the
Thai market two years ago. Content for Chiang Mai will be based on the Bangkok
station Virgin Hitz, with a focus on top 40 popular music, and on Ko Samui will
broadcast easy listening music to help listeners kick back in tropical paradise ,
Virgin says. Radio technology predates TV, and is well behind the days of MMS
and video streaming, but its affordability and portability makes it a good choice if
not necessarily a favourite for youth marketers. Radio is huge for this market, says
Ian Stewart, CEO of youth brand specialist marketers The Filter Group. We re big
supporters of radio because the fact is young people are at home doing their
studying, there s only one TV in the house and that s being watched by everybody
else, so they put the radio on. And when they re older, they re spending hours in the
car commuting with

Sequential Art Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetoric in Sequential Art When the word sequential art comes to mind, many
people would automatically assume some elaborate work of art that belongs in an
art museum, but at a baseline sequential art can be your average comic book or
comic strip. This isn t to say that they shouldn t be in an art museum because the
work displayed in them is phenomenal and in some ways, can surpass your
stereotypical piece of art, but most people consider them childish, a waste of time, or
something that could never be taken seriously. In reality comics and other forms of
sequential art do something that many pieces of art cannot do. They can combine the
beauty or simplicity behind art, with a phenomenal storyline that everyone can
understand. What is even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When thinking about a novel, one of the most commonly used rhetorical tools
used is imagery. When a scene is important for the sake of the plot or important to
the author, the author works hard to bring the reader into the world that they see
the action happening in. The same can be said of the presentation of a certain
sequence within a piece of sequential art. Whereas a square can be seen as an
ordinary frame for a comic, when the art is put into any other shape, it now stands
out as important to the reader and they are more inclined to noticed more detail
within the scene or frame. The same effect applies within the Narmer Palette and
its presentation on the stone tablet that it is carved on. The main parts of the story
are in giant panels, framed in a large rectangle and surrounded by the Egyptian
goddess Bat, a cow goddess who was prevalent in the Old and Middle Kingdoms of
Egypt. The goddess was told to have two faces, one able to see to the past and the
other to see towards the future, hence why the face of a cow appears twice on each
panel of significance. For many who were to look upon the palette it would be a
sign of a blessing, significance, and greatness. This particular style of detail can be
considered a rhetorical device because of its purpose towards the main theme of the

  • 2. Who Was The Nationalist Movement Of Zionism The nationalist movement of Zionism emerged out of the Jewish people s need for a national state of their own. This idea harkens back to the establishment of the Kingdom of Israel after the Exodus. The Holy Land and all of its historic prestige persisted in Jewish culture as they spread throughout the Diaspora for 2000 years. Restrictions and persecution followed the Jewish people as they were met with prejudice throughout Eastern and Western Europe. Organized political Zionismgrew from tsarist Russia, where pogroms carried out against the Russian and Polish Jews in the 1880 s killed thousands. Originating in Russia in 1884, an agency named the Lovers of Zion assisted the emigration of Jews to Palestine, where they organized small farms. During this time Leon Pinsker wrote Auto Emancipation , a Zionist pamphlet in which he posits an answer to the Jewish Question . He argues that Jews are despised all over the world, and are viewed as aliens that cannot be assimilated. He also states, Since it is not to be our mission to reform mankind, we must see what we have to do for ourselves under the circumstances. Another prominent Zionist activist was Theodor Herzel who wrote the Jewish State in 1896, where he asserts that the Jews comprised a nation without a political state. It is important to note that both Pinsker and Herzel did not directly name Palestine as the location for a Jewish state. The following year, Herzel organized the first Zionist Congress in Basel in

Plate thickness is kept constant (= 3mm). Some important parameters have been varied during welding. Thus several butt welded joints have been made. Each sample of the joints has been prepared under certain combination of welding parameters. The parameters considered for variation, in the present work have been welding current, gas flow rate and nozzle to plate distance. The design of experiment has been done using L9 Taguchi design of experiment. The influence of the process parameters (mainly current, gas flow rate and nozzle to plate distance) has been examined visually and also through X ray radiographic tests. Next, samples have been cut, machined to conform to some specified dimensions for tensile testing. The quality of the weld has been evaluated in terms of ultimate strength, yield strength and percentage of elongation of the
  • 4. Fahrenheit 451 Personal Response I really like the idea of being able to write a story without having to use description. I feel like in life, people are more fueled by what is said, rather than what they are doing while they say it. Also, I want to see how different it is to read people s moods without the help of description. This is just a brief dialogue section I wrote. It might be the middle of a story, but just kind of liked it. Hope to add more sometime in the future. Life s not fair kid, and the sooner you figure that out, the better. You can t live your life expecting it to slow down for you, cause it won t, and then you ll be left with a lot of should haves , and not enough have dones . How am I supposed to change that? Maybe they cannot handle it. Sometimes the smile falters and the truth can be seen, but no one ever pays attention. Maybe they do not want to. The world does not need to know all our problems. We become vulnerable and susceptible to getting hurt when we reveal our true selves. We keep the masks on. Behind our masks we cry out in anguish. We shed tears of our pasts and the roads we took to get here. No one need know what we have been through. Just let the world see the mask we
  • 5. Teaching Mathematics and Filippino Student Performance Rationale Most mathematics teachers have observed that many students have poor performance in mathematics. Classroom researches over the years show that mathematics instruction has continuously been taught in a traditional manner wherein only a few students understand and grasp the concepts (Winters, Cerulli, Bjork, Mor, 2006). Teaching mathematics has been viewed as unappealing to the majority of students and has been outdated and not connected with their interests and experiences, bringing about poor performance in mathematics (Goodrum, Hackling, Rennie, 2001). Comparing to international standards, the performance of Filipino students in mathematics is far below the desired outcome. In the 2003 international exam for mathematics and sciences, the Philippines ranked 23rd among 25 participants in the elementary level with an average score of 358 compared to the average of 495 while for the grade 8 or 13 year old level, the country ranked 42nd among 45 participants with an average score of 377 compared to the international average of 466 (Juon, 2004). This shows the poor performance of students in mathematics. To answer this concern, the Department of Education promulgated different means of improving the curriculum. The latest of these changes is the DepEd Order No. 73 S. 2012. This order emphasizes on implementing the standards based assessment and rating system to support the progressive roll out starting with grades 1 and 7 of the k to 12 Basic Education Curriculum

This controversy refers to the Tata s Nano Factory at Singur in Hooghly district in West Bengal, India. Since Tata MotorsStarted constructing the factory over there in Singur, the small place comes into the media worldwide. Tata Motors started this factory to manufacture 25000 cars firstly. The plans of Tata Motors were that Nano will come out from the factory by 2008 for rolling out the roads. As the Nano project will be beneficial for the both parties, Tata will get the desired place for the manufacturing of the Nano and West Bengal will also benefited. In this case, the main issue was that Industry, government and agriculture comes at the crossroads. There are so many implications for the external factors which come into this picture. As CPI had won the election for the seventh consecutive time in West Bengal, CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has the vision to make the West Bengal an industrialized state which will help the people to upgrade their standards. CM was very happy that government has recommended the Singur for the Nano Plant. As Ratan Tata was looking for the place where he would able to control the cost and place would be cheap so that he can provide the people the car of worth Rs. 1 lakh. So, Ratan Tata accepts the proposal from the West Bengal government because at Singur the cost of its operation would be less and Tata will get benefited out of it. The statistical data of Hooghly district on Singur block is that 83% of the land is irrigated and crop density is 220%. The landholders in the Singur were very small. All have the land in the small proportions. There are a large number of migrant workers over there; it implies that Tata would get the cheap and easy labor over there in the Singur. On May 18, 2006, there was the announcement by the West Bengal government for the beginning of the project at Singur. Ratan Tata

The way we spoke with each other. How I felt when I was with him. Everything pointed back to one answer, but it only made me depressed. I really liked Ciel. Alice? someone asked. I snapped out of my daze. I d know that voice anywhere. I turned in my chair and smiled, Ciel! I got up and hugged him tightly. He seemed a bit awkward about it, but wrapped his arms around me. When I pulled away, I was full of concern, Are you okay? Did you get hurt? I m so sorry, Ciel! I... I didn t know how to help you. It s fine. We re back together now, right? That s what matters, he said. I nodded in agreement. I was a little surprised he was brushing it off so easily. With anyone else, he would have chewed them out for it. I was grateful for the reaction, of course, but considering the recent revelation, my thoughts drifted to reasons of the change. There is no more room, March Hare told Ciel. Yes, no more room at all, Hatter joked. He gave me a knowing smile. He knew that I had figured it out. If I hadn t, I wouldn t have hugged Ciel. I averted my eyes, angry for him being right at all. He had just made things a zillion times harder because of pointing out that little fact. I really hadn t needed it. Come, don t say that. Have a seat, Dormouse talked in his sleep. I haven t said anything, yet, Ciel pointed out.

  • 9. Inappropriate Observation After conducting a t test and regression in R, we can conclude that vegetation cover differs on and off a prairie dog colony meaning that prairie dogs have a significant effect of grassland vegetation by increasing vegetation richness and diversity. As we already said, there was a greater variety of plants in the grassland region with prairie dogs than in the region without prairie dogs. The fact that there is more vegetation on a prairie dog colony region than off a prairie dog colony suggests that sites inhabited by prairie dog populations will have a richer distribution of plants and a healthier prairie ecosystem. Kotliar, N. B. (1999) and Koford, C. B. (1958) also reported in their studies that grass abundance and plant species richness

As we grow up, we start to ask ourselves how intelligence affects our way of birth and as well as in our daily lives. Questions and curiosity will always knock our innocent minds. As Medical Technology students, we do not have any knowledge about how intelligence influence our ways of childbirth and on what we are today. It develops health problems that the newborns who are delivered naturally do not experience. They missed out the critical hormone and physiological changes during labor, which help babies develop, risk of becoming obese children, asthmatic and diabetic as they grow and more likely develops chronic diseases later in life. Specifically, when it comes to its intelligent quotient, our research has shown that women who give birth naturally have a higher level of intelligence because of the special protein, UCP2 present in the babies brains that helps boost intelligent level and nurtures their short and long term memory which are the key components of human IQ as they grow up. And the study found out that babies born by caesarean have lower levels of brain boosting UCP2 than those born naturally. This protein is mainly linked for memory development and storage. In addition, UCP2 is also known to help improves the chances of newborns breastfeeding, which normal birth has the shorter stay and recovery time, which results in early contact with the baby and breastfeed sooner which also connects to the impact of breast milk to newborns cognitive development. Our study aimed at testing who has the higher intelligent quotient between the two: normal birth or caesarean babies. It is hypothesized that babies born naturally have higher IQ s than those delivered caesarean

To test the myelination dysfunction hypothesis of schizophrenia, possible myelination dysfunction was evaluated in a phencyclidine (PCP) induced neurodevelopmental model of schizophrenia. On postnatal day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dysfunction of neural networks has been demonstrated by chemical and physiologic imaging in the brains of schizophrenic patients (McClure et al., 1998). Myelin dysfunction produces abnormal connectivity of neural networks. The lipid rich myelin possesses high electrical resistance and low capacitance, and thus acts as an insulator around axons. Damage to the myelin is accompanied by a decrease in conduction velocity and, when severe, cessation of conduction. Dysregulation of myelination related genes in chronic schizophrenia has been revealed by genome wide expression analysis (Hakak et al., 2001), and deficits in myelin associated mRNA and protein expression have been reported in brains of elderly schizophrenic patients (Dracheva et al., 2006). In addition, abnormalities of myelination neuro imaging and ultrastructural pathology of myelinated fibers and oligodendrocytes have been observed in schizophrenic brains (Flynn et al., 2003; Orlovskaya and Uranova, 1997). Therefore, the pathological process underlying schizophrenia may involve an abnormality of brain myelin affecting white matter (Davis et al., 2003; Finelli, 1985; Hageman et al., 1995). Bernard Williams declares that the proper grounds for distribution of healthcare is ill health and that this statement is a necessary truth. In this paper, I will argue that Williams is correct in believing that the distribution of medical care should be based on the ill health, but is incorrect in his assumption that this claim is in fact a necessary truth. I will begin by explaining the relevance of inequality to the question of distribution of healthcare, with the focus being on the distinction between inequality of merit and the inequality of need. I will then move on to illustrating why Williams believes that medical care should be distributed on the basis of ill health. Finally, I will explain why I believe that Williams is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important and perhaps obvious distinction to make here is that everyone who has a need for a particular good, also desires it and everyone who has sufficient merit to receive a good may not necessarily desire it. Goods are frequently distributed in accordance with one of these two principles. For example, a university education is a good that is often acquired due to someone being in possession of adequate merit. Goods which are distributed on the basis of merit, often contain a competitive element. Forms of equality exist within this competitive realm to secure the notion of fairness; this action is referred to as the preservation of equality of opportunity. Williams articulates that, at least in theory, this aspect of the good is distributed equally, preserving just distribution, while the good itself may not be dispersed evenly. When speaking of one s right to healthcare, Williams believes that the sole appropriate factor in distribution is ill health. This belief is rooted in the notion that the inequality present in this situation is the inequality of need and that merit should not be a factor in the distributive decision making process. Williams believes that healthcare should be strictly distributed on the basis of need. This may seem like a simple claim which is obvious to the distributor and need not be analyzed further. However,

You know how your body gets weak and tired and sometimes, if your blood sugar gets too low, you start to shake? Imagine if that became your normal and every second of everyday you felt like that. • 21. The Rise Of Asymmetric Warfare Question: Analyze the rise of asymmetric warfare. Provide illustrations and assess how it has reshaped behaviors and outcomes. The asymmetry in asymmetric warfare is an inherently relational concept. It refers to an irregular conflict that is distinct by the relative dissimilarity between opponents in battle. The asymmetry is derived from the character of warfare and dictated by the difference in relational power amid warring sides. This asymmetry has tended to be in terms of status and organization; means and resources, goals and objectives; and strategies and tactics. The relationship between the belligerents in almost all conflicts has varied in many tactical, strategic and operational levels. A popular perception of today claims that there has been a relatively recent rise in asymmetric warfare, or conventional irregular warfare that has transformed war from a customary and symmetric exercise into an irregular, avant garde, asymmetric experience. This perception is inherently at the foundation of the question in which this essay attempts to respond. In contrast with this perspective, the main argument of this essay is that asymmetric warfare, although definitely a characteristic of the times is not a new genus of warfare that has risen in the twentieth century as a distinct revolution in military affairs. Furthermore, asymmetric warfare cannot be used as a description to describe deviation from Western norms in this case conflict. Rather, asymmetric warfare

Defeats in wars led to harsh treaties, territorial loss, repeated episodes of foreign barbarism, waning of Chinese influence in many areas in Asia and exploitation of its rights by foreign powers. Starting from the first Opium War, China experienced military defeats and loss of its territory and influence in Asia. This experience made the Chinese people aware that China was inferior to the foreign powers (1968 Lucian). China s defeat in the Sino Japanese war sent a great tremor among the Chinese people. It was perhaps the final nail in the coffin of the century of humiliation as Japan was always regarded as a tributary or inferior barbarian country by the Chinese. All this led to a belief in the need of self strengthening and intensifying its military by enriching the country and importing western technology to fit itself to the new world order with effective diplomacy in order to maintain its national security, leverage and status. The business judgment rule has served for decades as the most important protection against personal liability for directors and officers. And it also has been criticized frequently as providing too much protection for the directors and officers of corporations. It is the time for some changes to be made to business judgment rule. A: Economic Environment Changes The business judgment rule is designed to prevent courts from second guessing the quality of a decision, which made by directors and officers. Because the modern organizational structure of corporations allows shareholders, who actually own the corporationto elect a board of directors to manage the corporation, these directors and officers have more business experience and are more familiar with the needs, strengths, and limitations of the corporation than shareholders and the courts. Therefore the business judgment rule recognizes that the directors and officers are best able to make business judgments. The business judgment rule originated in 1945 in Otis Co. v. Pennsylvania R. Types Systems And Traditional Soil Based Systems Microbes, Bio Diversity and Overall Plant Health and How They Relate to Long Term Space Life Support Systems Abstract The interactions between plant diversity, microbes, and overall plant health is not fully understood here on Earth nor in space. There have been studies on these interactions in hydroponic type systems and traditional soil based systems each coming to varying conclusions and none really uncovering a clear path forward. I read through many articles on plant microbe interactions, plant disease in hydroponic systems, and plant health with relation to plant diversity and ecosystem structure. Overall the message is clear. More research is needed to better understand these complex interactions and how they affect the long term viability of bio regenerative closed ecological systems (CES). Although, research is slowly progressing and shows promising signs that these interactions can be better understood and utilized to enhance closed system plant cultivation and ultimately long duration closed regenerative Life Support (LS) systems. Introduction There is a renewed focus among the space community for long duration deep space missions to destinations such as the Moon, Mars, and asteroids along with a desire to build long term human settlements on Mars. These far flung missions will not be able to solely rely on traditional LS systems that have been used throughout the history of manned space flight. These traditional LS systems rely on carrying needed supplies

Alex was used by Carver and Troy to create the illusion of the trio being a family on vacation. Carver was a tall, strong man that had a good sense of humor and enjoyed talking with Alex, but Troy rarely talked to Alex even though she seemed like the perfect

The journey of the Joads has its ups and downs. Migrants are not always received with open arms; they are persecuted and looked upon as not even human. For them the promised land becomes the land of despair. In many ways, the journey of the black Africans to America as slaves is similar to the dust bowl migrations. Both are forced from the land that they love by almost non human forces. They were taken to the land of riches where they were poor. The slaves were however taken by force but the Okies were seduced by the lure of work and prosperity. nbsp; To help understand the third and deepest level of reading, we can apply a mathematical idea, that is the Fractal Idea of Sameness, that things are identical at different levels. The same can be said of the presentation of a certain sequence within a piece of sequential art. Whereas a square can be seen as an ordinary frame for a comic, when the art is put into any other shape, it now stands out as important to the reader and they are more inclined to noticed more detail within the scene or frame. The same effect applies within the Narmer Palette and its presentation on the stone tablet that it is carved on. The main parts of the story are in giant panels, framed in a large rectangle and surrounded by the Egyptian goddess Bat, a cow goddess who was prevalent in the Old and Middle Kingdoms of Egypt. For many who were to look upon the palette it would be a sign of a blessing, significance, and greatness. This particular style of detail can be considered a rhetorical device because of its purpose towards the main theme of the
