How To Organize An Argumentative Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Organize An Argumentative Essay" can present both
challenges and rewards. The difficulty lies in the intricate balance between providing clear,
concise information and maintaining a compelling argumentative structure. It requires a
comprehensive understanding of the elements that constitute a well-organized argumentative
essay.
One of the challenges is establishing a coherent and logical flow throughout the essay. The writer
needs to carefully plan the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion to ensure that each
part seamlessly connects to the next. This involves choosing a compelling thesis statement that
encapsulates the main argument and constructing topic sentences for each paragraph that support
and build upon that thesis.
Another difficulty is incorporating evidence effectively. In an argumentative essay, evidence
plays a crucial role in supporting the claims made by the author. Selecting relevant and persuasive
evidence, citing sources appropriately, and seamlessly integrating it into the text require
meticulous attention to detail.
Furthermore, achieving a balanced tone is crucial in argumentative writing. Striking the right
balance between presenting a strong, persuasive argument and acknowledging counterarguments
demonstrates a nuanced understanding of the topic. This adds depth to the essay and enhances
its overall credibility.
Additionally, mastering transitions between paragraphs and ideas is essential for a well-
organized argumentative essay. Smooth transitions guide the reader through the essay's logical
progression, enhancing comprehension and engagement. Failure to provide clear connections
between ideas can result in a disjointed and confusing essay.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on organizing argumentative essays is a rewarding
process. It hones critical thinking skills, improves the ability to express ideas persuasively, and
enhances overall writing proficiency. Successfully organizing an argumentative essay
demonstrates a mastery of both the subject matter and the art of effective communication.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "How To Organize An Argumentative Essay" demands careful
consideration of various elements. It requires the writer to navigate the complexities of structure,
evidence, tone, and transitions. However, overcoming these challenges contributes to the
development of valuable writing skills. If you find the task too daunting, remember that

Florentine Codex Translation
Florentine Codex Translation The Florentine Codex has four version available to
read. The original Nahuatl version, Spanish, English from spanish translation, and the
new English from Nahuatl translation. Among these four versions, they both discuss
the same story line without much variation. But it s the small differencesin the Old vs
New English that create interesting differencethat change certain details and
emotions. The new direct Nahuatl translationis of course the more true and preferred
version for accurate information. But between these two versions you can see the
errors that are constantly being made and the pieces of information that are
essentially lost in translation. This can as well compel other historians to revise...

Antiauthoritarianism In Australia Essay
Aussie VC recipient Mark Donaldson, wasn t always a hero. (Source: Yahoo News)
At home and abroad we like to be seen as a country who promotes free speech,
equality before the law, and an array of other freedoms. However some misinterpret
this promotion of freedom for a more antiauthoritarian attitude.
Australia is known internationally for Kangaroos, cork hats, and a pair of thongs.
Australians themselves are known as easy going, relaxed sports fans, who seem to
have our own style of doing things.
Australian history and popular culture over the years has influenced these stereotypes

However, it is possible that what us Aussies are really seeing are the circumstances

How To Graduate High School
When I was in high school I didn t feel like doing any work because I used to see it
as a waste of time so in high school freshmen year I had almost all f s on my report
card. My teachers told me that I wasn t going to be anything in life and my family
would joke around and tell me I would work for minimum wage. So I told everyone
that I was going to change my life around and graduate high schoolbut the way I was
going they didn t believe that I could ever change. No one really believed me and
they thought I was just trying to make myself feel better.
I ignored everyone who thought that I couldn t do it and started taking school serious
in my sophomore year. I would start showing up early to all of my classes which

I went to talk to my counselor s, and asked them what I needed to graduate high
school. They gave me the requirements to graduate but I was behind in a lot of
senior classes. I asked them if they had any online courses where I could take a class
faster and catch up with the seniors. they let me stay after school and use the
computer at the library to take the online courses.
After a couple of months of online courses and hard work. I was all caught up with
the seniors. The end of the school year was close and it was the moment I was
waiting for. When I was walking that stage all my teachers, friends, and even some
of my family was surprised. My family knew that I was graduating one day ahead
only because I gave them the tickets to show up.
This experience changed my whole life around. Before I went through this
accomplishment in my life. I was lazy, angry, and I didn t really have any goals in
life I didn t have anything to look forward to. I was an angry person because I
always blamed other people for my mistakes, and I thought everyone was against me
because they don t want to see me succeed. I realized that at the end of day no one
actually cares about your life more than yourself. I became motivated and interested
in my education. Now I have attainable goals that I want to accomplish and have a

The Energy Crisis In America
The energy crisis in America is often placed on the back burner to the average
American citizen. Generally, one will only care about this crisis when the price of
gas changes. The energy crisis, however, is a prominent issue as it is ongoing and
getting worse, despite many efforts (Rinkesh). The world s natural resources, such
as oil, coal, and natural gas, cannot supply the world s increasing demand. The
amount of crude oil available is only 2 percent higher than the demand for it
(Muise). If the demand expands any higher, then the limited supply of natural
resources will be gone for good ( Learn about Energy ). It is projected that there is
enough oil to last 34 more years, enough natural gas to last 53 more years, and
enough coal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since no one has been able to propose a solution that is realistic, I put the solution
upon myself. I have created a bulletproof plan that will not only solve the energy
crisis, but it will help to decrease in obesity, the environment, and create jobs killing
four birds with one stone. Humans all around the world will defeat this problem
by creating and providing their own energy for themselves. They will do this by
riding a bike, that will be connected to a power bank, in one s own house. Every
day, before and after work, people will ride a bike. The power bank will be linked
to household appliances such as the refrigerators TVs, and heating systems. The
longer the person rides it, then the more electricity they get for their house. The
average hour riding a bike will provide 6 hours of electricity. Of course, this is also
dependent on how many electricity run products are in one s home If the person
has more electrical items, then they will need to ride for longer amounts of time
because the energy will be traveling to copious places. Using this method of energy
will decrease the use of harmful fossil fuels and decrease the amount of unpredictable
renewable resources by creating man made energy that can supply the needs of
The Gap Between Women And Women
Introduction
For many years, women trailed behind men in educational attainment. Men had
greater access to college and earned more of the degrees awarded. Census data from
the 1960s indicates that men were awarded nearly twice as many of the bachelor
degrees than women. Goldin, Katz, and Kuziemko (2006) identified the highpoint of
the college graduate gender imbalance in 1947 when the ratio of men to women
enrolled in college was 2.3 to 1. They point out that following World War II, men
enrolled in large numbers as a result of the GI bill. From that time, however, women
have been slowly narrowing the gap. By 1980, the gap in enrollment and degree
completion between men and women had disappeared (Goldin et al., 2006). Fast
forward to the present, women have not only closed the educational attainment gap,
but they have reversed it holding a larger portion of the undergraduate enrollment and
degree completion than their male counterparts (Ge Yang, 2013). College enrollment,
resulting in educational attainment, results from achievement at the high school level,
where students receive their preparation for post secondary schooling, referred to as
college readiness. High school is also where students compete with one another for
freshmen admissions into college. It is at this level that the imbalance in educational
attainment has been delineated.
Statement of the Problem
This paper, then, addresses the problem of disparity in college readiness measured by

The Influence Of Abstract And Modern Art
Abstract and modern art have really changed the way society views and
appreciation for the amazing contributions and work created by artists. There are
so many styles and concepts which those artists have come up with over times
which are greatly reflected in their paintings and creations. In this essay we will be
going on a journey to find out the inspiration and the intended messages from three
paintings mentioned in the above topic. The Large Bathers, 1898 1905 is the largest
of Cezanne s pictures and because it is also the most formal in aspect, it has been
cited often as an example of his ideal of composition and his restoration if classical
monumentality after its lapse during the nineteenth century (www.PaulCezanne.org).
This painting was one of the most mind blowing yet interesting pieces during this era
because of its unfinished quality which caused quite a stir among writers, artists and
historians. The nude forms presented along with the river and triangular pattern in
which the trees were painted gives quite an interesting perspective to his work. The
composition of the painting did not reflect the ideal typical style from the
Renaissance pyramid. Instead it was created in another style where the central part is
empty, the apex is intercepted by the frame and the greatest compactness comes in
smaller pyramids for the largest figures. One can also notice from Cezanne s work
the way he thought about portrayed women. The abstract nude females present in

Effective Communication And Good Leadership Skills
Every group, institution or company needs to communicate internally as well as
externally to deliver and manages the things in best possible way (Linjuan Rita Men,
2015). Managers or leaders for such task are responsible for successful
communication and understanding of messages with each and every attendee
involved. A person having good leadershipskills but lack in skills of communication
will never be preferred in any industry for conduction and delivering meetings and
speeches or any other sort of public communication. Effective communication skills
are necessary not only in business meetings but also in several other private and
public relations including hospitals, educational institutions and industry. Work to be
completed by groups needs to discuss plan, its strategy and future direction and
cooperative coordination which can only be achieved by integrating great leadership
skills with effective communicating styles (Vries, Bakker Pieper Oostenveld, 2010).
A combination of these can only lead any group towards success. It can help a team
to achieve their goal once they are clear to them. Unclear communication and poor
managementmay demotivate members, which may lower their interest and passion
for the work. This article will focus on the importance of communication in field of
business and health care and some measure to be taken in these areas to achieve
targeted aim.
A leader must be able to have affective communication skills. When CEOs and top

Keeping A Healthy Lifestyle On Food Intake
Introduction Our bodies need certain things in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Food is a key ingredient to helping sustain our health throughout our life. When
looking at our diet, we need to look beyond total calories consumed. Instead, we
need to break the foods down into the different molecules that provide our body the
proper nutrients to thrive and grow. Macronutrients are required by our bodies to
properly function, and are needed for growth and energy. These macronutrients
consist of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates which we obtain from the foods we
eat. Tracking food intake is one way to analyze how food consumption meets,
exceeds or falls short of recommended values. Through behavior modification and
small, specific goals, positive dietary changes can help maintain long term health.
Proteins are the building blocks of our bodies. From DNA to muscles, protein is a
major part of our bodies. Protein is found in meats, poultry, dairy, nuts, and fish.
Each gram of protein we eat consists of 4 calories. Proteins are made up of amino
acids, known as the building blocks of proteins. There are 20 amino acids, 9 of
which are essential, since they are only obtained from the food in our diet. The
other 11 amino acids are considered non essential because our bodies have the
ability to create these amino acids. Lipids, or fats, are important to our bodies.
Lipids in our diet come from foods such as meats, nuts, dairy and oils. Each gram
Analysis Of The Short Story Marzipan By Aimee Bender
What Does Marzipan Argue About Genders People deal with loss and grief
differently. However, such behavioral patterns could differ between different
gender groups as their collective norms and values may differ. As dealing with loss
and grief is an inevitable part of our experience, we must acknowledge those
differences and learn to work with our partners in life. In the short story Marzipan the
author Aimee Bender examines the roles loss and grief played in the two genders.
While loss and grief usually cause passive and incommunicable emotions among men,
women opt for disguising their emotions. Those stereotypical views about gender
distinction, are supported and enforced by the traditional familystructure

The young sisters, who know little about their father s suffering, make fun of the
hole without knowing the consequence of their action. The father is unable to
intervene on his daughters behalf, as he sits there face paled. (40), till the mother
orders the children to keep quiet. Apparently, his role in the family structure
prevents him from expressing his emotion directly to his children. Nevertheless,
after a visit to the doctor, it turns out that the father s internal organs are intact
despite their state of severe deformation, which shows the father s incredible
determination to remain functional in his family role after his tragic loss.
Ironically, the doctors pronounced him in great health (41), which implies that
apparent defects in mental health could be suppressed by the father s unwillingness
to challenge his image as a man, thus they are not easily detectable. The father s
behavioral patterns after his father s death are in accordance to many stereotypical
views of men. However, the father does not display masculine traits at the time of
the funeral, where man behaviors such as weeping become appropriate. Aimee
inserts the description of this event in the middle of the story in order to contrast
stereotypical views of man with real human emotions a man may have. After the
funeral, when the narrator asks the father about his experience, the father says I cried
(45) and described the event as very sad (46). The father

Some walls aren t only physical, but there are ones that are inside of us. The
Mending Wall by Robert Frost and Tear Down This Wall by Ronald Reagan are
brilliant examples of how, not only nature, but humans as well do not like walls.
Walls form separation, and they also affect people, countries, and civilizations. The
theme of separation is evident in Mending Wall and Tear Down This Wall. Robert
Frost explains how nature tears down a wall they build every year because even
nature doesn t like the idea of segregation. Reagan demonstrates his disbelief in walls
by going to Berlin and rallying the people to tear down the scar of a wall. Not only
do walls form separation, they also effect people. As well as separating people
Alternative Fee Arrangements ( Afas )
Despite the growing trend toward alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), most law
firms would prefer they were just a passing fad. Clients, on the other hand, are
attracted to AFAs because they offer predictability at a time when budgets are under
increasing pressure. It s not surprising, then, that in a 2014 Canadian Lawyer
Corporate Counsel Survey, 75.6 percent of corporate counsels say they would be
receptive if a firmother than their current external law firm proposed an alternate fee
arrangement.
Clearly every firm needs to address AFAs, but before you dive in, be aware of the
pitfalls. Some firms are quoting impossibly low fees to win new clients, then
skimping on service to maintain a reasonable profit. In the end, the client suffers ...

Biodiesel Synthesis Lab Report
Abstract
The purpose of this experiment was to synthesize biodiesel using a green approach
in a laboratory setting to create an environmentally safe alternative to petroleum
diesel. Sodium Hydroxide was used as a catalyst in order to complete a
transesterification reaction. The experiment took place over two days total as the
glycerol and biodiesel compounds were given time to separate fully. A separatory
funnel was used to separate the two compounds and then they were examined with
infrared spectroscopy. The glycerol showed some OH bonding participating
possibly in Hydrogen bonding at about 3400 cm^ 1. It also showed another peak at
about 2900 cm^ 1 which could indicate some carbon hydrogen bonding occurring.
The Biodiesel however looked completely different with a peak at about 1750 cm^ 1
indicating ester presence and also peaks at around 2900 and 2850 possibly showing
carbon hydrogen bonding. Results proved esterification of our compound and
separation from the fatty acid.

Sociologist Research
Scientist confine their research to the laboratory, because that is the only
environment where their research would not be contaminated by animals, humans, or
weather. The laboratory is their safe haven. A place where everything is done by a
fine tooth comb. However, Sociologist research is different when it pertains to how
they do their research. Sociologist research is the study of the world around them.
They must go out into the world and conduct surveys, which includes interviews, and
questionnaires, and they must observe (Cite 2). This type of research cannot be done
inside of a laboratory. When sociologist conduct interviews they must go out into the
community that they live in, to public places, to schools, and to different areas of the
world, and ask questions pertaining to their topic that they are studying, and then
record the answers. When the sociologist conduct questionnaires, they must ask their
participants a set of questions that they already have prepared. These are questions
that will help them with their research.

Costume And Make Up Design With Hamlet
I chose costume and make up design with Hamlet because I love do to hair and
make up. It s something that a majority of females do everyday. When at a play, the
audience doesn t seem to think a whole lot about the costumes and makeup. Sure
they might think, wow they look nice or their costume is so cool , but they don t
really think about who designs the costumes or does the make up for the actors
and actresses; who creates the look of the character. It s amazing to me that
someone can take pieces of fabric and turn it into a one of a kind piece. Costume
designers focus on the visual appearance of characters. They also try to make the

Traditionally, the actors have been responsible for the make up. In professional
theatre, the costume designer often conceives of the actor s make up with the

Broadway and Off broadway plays and musicals. Make up can have several
functions such as characterize, aid expressiveness, restore color, and indicate
performance style. The design is usually coordinated through a make up plot, a
chart that records basic information about the makeup of each character. Make up
can be achieved in two different ways. Through painting and through added plastic,
prosthetics, or three dimensional pieces. Painted make up can be divided into four
categories such as age make up, straight or character makeup, racial/ethnic group
makeup, and special painted effects. Both costumes and makeup have several
functions and use charts to guide their way to success. After reading the chapter, I
have learned so many new things. I did not know that costume designers and
makeup artists refer to a chart to guide them. I just assumed that they sketch out their
ideas and sew the costume together. I also did not know that the actor or actress
used to be responsible for their own make up. The last thing I learned new is that not

sad middle eastern music starts playing to set the mood for the particular scene. In
fact, the movie begins with this music which can be viewed as foreshadowing for
the tragic events of the movie. Moreover, when Maximus wins a gladiatorial battle
and people shout his name a heroic music begins to play to add to the glory of his

Commodus and Caesar, the shaky and constantly changing tone of either characters
talking to each other, clearly indicates their oppressed emotions and feelings of
despair, anger, and sorrow. Along with the dialogue, the orchestra music in this scene
starts softly and slowly and as the characters express their emotions and the scene
progresses, the music builds up and reaches its peak to the point where Commodus
suffocates the Caesar. After Caesar dies, the music calms down as the situation does.
As a matter of fact, integrating the emotional conversation with the background

ACCOUNTING TRANSPARENCY
Accounting is mainly concerned with general rules, concepts and principles that are
established with the purpose of governing different fields of financial reporting.
Accounting principles are also known as accounting principles and guidelines, these
acts as the base on which more complex and critical rules are based. The authority
responsible for issuing the accounting standards (i.e. financial accounting standard
board) also uses these basic principles to formulate the accounting standards in a more
efficient manner.

Ratio Analysis is used for evaluation of performance of the company by internal as
well as external users. These comprises of managers, equity investors, long term
creditors and short term creditors. The managers are interested in the profitability and
asset utilization ratios of the company as their incentives and appraisal are based on
the profitability and efficiency of asset utilization of their respective divisions. Higher
the profitability, higher is the chances of promotion. Thus, managers are always very
keen to analyze the different financial ratios of the company.
Those who invest in equity are always interested in knowing about the profitability,
Market and solvency ratios of the company. Higher profitability ratio is helpful in
increasing the market value of the company. The market ratios like dividend yield,
price earnings ratio, earnings per share etc. is useful in determining the exact
position of the company s market share. Favorable market ratio indicates the increase
in market capitalization for investors and vice versa. The equity investors are also
interested in knowing the solvency ratio as high debt will pose danger to the
ownership of the company. Higher debt is harmful for the liquidity position of the
company and in some worst cases; the company even faces the risk of liquidation.
The long term creditors and short term creditors are majorly concerned about the
liquidity and solvency position of an organization. The increase in the debt
Essay On Indentured Servants
Indentured Servitude as a Catalyst for Colonial Success The colonies were better
able to adapt to the New World and all of its trials through the use of indentured
servants. Indentured servitude gave colonists access to the new freedoms they may
not have had otherwise in Britain while giving colonies such as Virginia a chance at
success. The New World involved challenges that the colonists never could have
imagined including but not limited to disease, crop differences, and Native
Americans with very different lifestyles. Colonial Growth by means of Indentured
Servants Over half of the white immigrants that arrived to the British Colonies were
able to make the passage through agreeing to indentured servitude. Indentured
servants exchanged several years of labor for the cost of passage to America and the
grant of land. During the seventeenth century, indentured servants provided most of
the labor in British America. Unanticipated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Virginia where tobacco was a prominent crop, large planters bought up fertile
lands, which left very little options for freed servants. A large majority of freed
servants during this time had to choose between becoming a tenant of a planter
and buying less fertile land. Decline in Indentured Servitude With the beginnings
of colonies such as New England, the need for indentured servitude throughout
British America began to decline. In New England a large portion of the settlers
were middle class. Besides even the class level of those who settled in New
England, the area was a much easier place to settle as the labor required as well as
the weather was much more mild. The strongest portions of weather was the cold
climate which ultimately helped to fend off some disease and illness that may have
otherwise plagued settlers as it did in many other colony beginnings. Long Term Slave
Manipulation In Shakespeare s Othello Essay
Manipulation is one of; if not the greatest strength Iago has to offer in his friendship
to Othello. Due to his position he is able to accomplish much in the art of deception
and ultimately succeeds in bringing destruction to Othello s life. Through his
expertise in applied psychology he is able to convince a handful of people to act on
their own intensified emotions and insecurities. In this way, his manipulation is
tactfully accomplished. However, this deceitfulness would not have been as
successful had there not been a physical token of love such as the handkerchief. The
token itself was necessary but the particularity of what the token was arguably may
not have been as significant. Connecting it to modern day a ring, heel or purse... Show

Iago does a fine job of using psychology to control situations within the play. He is
one of the best representations of evil in any of Shakespeare s plays. Perhaps what
makes Iago most terrifying is that he is fearless in speech and full of pride. He
intentionally manipulates the handkerchiefs original symbol of purity to one that
is stained with jealousy and insecurity. He seems to be comprised of two of the
most significant traits of what constitutes an evil character. Grace Williams argues
these traits by saying: The first of these is the fact that perfectly sane people exist
in whom fellow feeling of any kind is so weak that an almost absolute egoism
becomes possible to them, and with it those hard vices such as ingratitude and
cruelty which to Shakespeare were far the worst. The second is that such evil is
compatible, and even appears to ally itself easily, with exceptional powers of will
and intellect (William, 87). Iago, in this way conforms to this evilness and his
intelligence matched with his intense desire of ill will towards Othello lends to his
success. The different symbols for which the handkerchief embraces helps aid Iago s
plans for the destruction of Othello coming to

Throughout history alcohol has been a common drink in social and celebration
environments. However in today s society it is easily accessible, very cheap, and
advertised on every channel available. Alcohol has taken over our society, from
teenagers to seniors, everyone is exposed to the culture of drinking. That is not the
issue though, the issue is in today s society gluttony is a common virtue and many
people take drinking beyond social and celebration environments. Many Americans

Alcoholism is addiction and a sickness because it can take over a person s life and
become a dependence very quickly.
What are the causes of Alcoholism?
To find the causes of alcoholism we must first understand what it is. The root of
alcoholism is an addict. As addicts, we are people whose use of many mind
altering, mood changing substance causes a problem in any area of life.
(Narcotics Anonymous 2008 Pg.3) Now that we know the root of the problem,
addicts, we can move on to direct influences to alcoholism. Peer pressure, as you
probably know, is the influence people sometimes use to make us behave in a way
we don t necessarily want to, or stop us doing things we do want to do. (Managing
peer pressure to drink) The peer or societal pressure is what drives many people to
first start drinking.
Along with peer pressure, alcoholism is also an issue in families and kids. ...alcohol
dependence and substance abuse are developmental disorders, so they tend to emerge
early in life, in adolescence or even before. (Substance Abuse What drives Alcohol
Addiction?) Many parents don t realize that their actions influence the actions of their
kids. Alcoholism or addiction comes not only from peer pressure or taught behaviors
but from the mental state and strength of each individual person.
Who is more Susceptible to Alcoholism?
Many top researchers believe although it may not be genetic, there is a relationship
between race and alcoholism. Rates of
Equal Employment Opportunity Essay
Throughout the years the United States has faced many challenges with equal
employment opportunities for everyone. The United States has developed The Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission, also known as the EEOC, to enforce laws
that help prevent everyone from being treated unfairly when it comes to employment
options. The EEOC has established stipulations and overlooks all of the federal equal
employment opportunity regulations, practices and policies ( Federal Laws
Prohibiting Job DiscriminationQuestions and Answers ). Some laws that have been
passed are the Equal Pay Act of 1963, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and

With the same exemption as Merit System, Seniority Plans are also exempt which
means that a company that ties pay notes to seniority can pay a man more if he has
been with the company longer than the female co worker. In conclusion the EPA
indicates that any other factor other than sex may be used to justify different pay
rates (Gomez Mejia, Luis R.). Industries of commerce and productions of goods for
commerce have depressed wages and standards of living based on sex which
resulted in the declaration of purpose. The EPA is necessary for every one s health
and efficiency. The purpose of declaration is that discrimination of sex in the work
force prevents the most efficient level of labor resources, causes problems with in
the labor force, prevents and burdens commerce and symbolizes an unfair
competition between individuals. This is one of the reasons why the EPA is
created to solve these complications. If employers use sex discrimination in the
work force they will face penalties. Some penalties are fines and imprisonment,
employers are liable for damages done to the employee, employer must pay wages
and compensation that was held from the employee and the employer must provide
savings provisions ( The Equal Pay Act of 1963 ). Preventing sex pay discrimination
is just one way that Equal Employment Opportunities Commission is trying to make
everyone equal. The Title

they will be found in different places depending on what time of the year.
Humpbacks typically travel alone or in small groups, called pods, consisting of
two or three whales. When whales are together, they communicate with each other

Examples Of Naturalism In Sister Carrie
Analysis of naturalism in Sister Carrie
Naturalism emerged in the mid of the 19th century in America as an outgrowth of
realism. It was inspired by Charles Darwin s theory of evolution. Naturalism
stresses the idea that any individual has a predetermined destiny influenced by
social factors and that one s character is formed on the basis of heredity. One s life
is governed by environment and heredity which can t be controlled by anyone. Sister
Carrie is a novel describing the harsh realities of the American people in an era of
urban consumerism which defined that period. Dreiser chose to name his novel
Sister Carrie because he was inspired by the events which occurred in his own sister s
life.

Reflection Paper On Fitness
Welcome to Fitness In my life so far, there have been very few instances where I
honestly thought about giving up. I like to believe I am a very strong willed and
sometimes stubborn person. I also believe everyone has moments where they
reach their limit and must decide whether or not to raise the bar. My first day of
track practice was one of those moments. I don t believe I fully understood what I
was getting myself into that day. I walked through the gym door nervous and filled
with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. The first thing I noticed was how many
people there were. The entire gym had people circling the perimeter. I mean it was
insane. It felt like everyone I had ever known to be in sports was there. People I
had never even said a word to had managed find to their way to the gym. I was out

myself. Everyone here is conditioned for this and they ve done this before. They
know what is going to happen. I was standing there, looking around like an idiot.
The first person I recognize and actually talk to is Franky. I attempt to casually

Piano Lessons At The Age Of 6
Music, in one way or another, is a part of everyone s life, whether it is listening to
music when travelling or learning how to play a musical instrument (Stutz).
Beginning piano lessons at the age of 6, I have developed a passion for music and
find it to be a way to escape from a hectic life. A requirement of the Royal
Conservatory of Music, a corporation that runs exams to test the ability of music
students, is to learn music history, and during the course, I was amazed at the fact
that when two instruments, for example the flute and oboe, play the same note, they
soundentirely different. The difference in sounds can even be heard in instruments
that are similar in nature, for instance, the pianoand the keyboard. When practicing
piano pieces for exams or piano festivals, I go online to listen to the interpretations
of others for inspiration. I usually find videos of people playing a piano, but
sometimes there are people playing a keyboard. What surprised me was that the
sounds of the keyboard and the piano were entirely different, and this difference was
especially noticeable practicing for a performance. The practice room only contained
a keyboard, and after playing the keyboard, I realized that the music sounded much
emptier compared to a piano. That got me to wonder, what makes two instruments
sound entirely different, even when playing the same note?
From comparing sounds from the keyboard and piano, I came to a conclusion that
even though the two instruments are

Ibn Battuta and Marco Polo were both explorers in the 13th Century. Battuta was a

areas surrounding Constantinople (in the excerpt we read). Marco Polo was a
Venetian merchant who traveled over land from Venice for half of his journey from

The passage we were given to read concentrated on Marco Polo s journey through
Persia and Southwest Asia.
While visiting Zafari, Ibn Battuta was shown great hospitality by two shakihs. Abu

were both men of great benevolence. When they washed their hands after a meal,
Abu l Abbas, took that water in which they washed, drank some of it, and sent the
servant with the rest of it to his wives and children, and they drank it as well. This is
what they do with all visitors to them in whom they perceived indications of
goodness. Battuta was also entertained by Abu Hashim al Zabidi, who personally
served and washed his hands, not delegating it to anyone else. (Gibb, 385 386) During
Battuta s visit in Constantinople he had a chance meeting with the ex King of

This is somewhat slower than the projected 3.5% gain for real gross domestic
product (GDP) in 1998. In 1999, RPMs would advance 2.5% to 605 billion, while
real GDP is seen growing 1.7%. The recently sluggish pace for air travel represents
a break from the normal pattern: since 1987, air travel has grown 1.8 times faster
than real GDP.
Two elements are working against air travel at present. First, the industry is
experiencing a cyclical slowdown that has its origins in the Asian financial crisis.
Second, with the days of deeply discounted fares over, fewer first time travelers are
entering the market.
The big swing factor for air travel in 1998 and 1999 will be the international
market. International travel accounts for some 27% of total Revenues per mile
(RPM) and 22% of revenues for the largest U.S. carriers. For the first eight months
of 1998, international RPMs climbed 3.7% over the year earlier period. However,
as capacity grew 5.8%, the load factor deteriorated to 73.7% from 75.2%. Most of
the international weakness is confined to Asia, where traffic is off about 8%.
While the economic slowdown that s underway may not deteriorate into a recession,
it is expected to take its toll on corporate profits. Historically, business travel reflects
changes in corporate profits, though sometimes with a lag. In 1997, the Travel

Goodfellas Essay
Goodfellas
(Goodfellas is the film adaptation of the non fiction book ?Wiseguy?, written by
Nicholas Pileggi. The film charts the rise and fall of Henry Hill?s thirty year career
within the New York mafia. The film was released in 1990 and was directed by
Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas stars Ray Liotta as Henry Hill, Lorraine Bracco as Karen
Hill (Henry?s Wife), Robert Dc Niro as James Conway and Joe Pesci as Tommy
DeVito.
The film begins with one of the most horrific and sickening moments to appear in a
film, the murder of Billy Batts. At this point the viewer knows nothing of the
background events that run up to this scene. Additionally, the characters are not yet
known, so there is no emotional baggage being carried with the ... Show more content

The purpose of the narration is to smooth over the various jumps in the story.
Throughout the film sub stories change quickly, narration is the device that covers
the holes. Without narration the viewer would become lost very quickly, and may
not fully understand events. At the beginning of the film, Henry is shown as a
young boy looking out of his bedroom window admiring the lifestyle of the local
?Wiseguys?. Here follows a very quick succession of events that show how his
character gets involved with these people and what he does to earn more respect
from them and eventually be accepted into their group. The narration explains why
he admires them so much, ?They did whatever they wanted?, why he wants to part
of their group and why he does what he does, ?It was about being somebody in a
neighbourhood of nobodies?.
Within the film there are four main characters; Henry Hill, Karen Hill, Tommy
DeVito, and James Conway. Henry and Karen are the only characters that are
followed throughout the film. On the whole, character development is kept to a
minimum. For instance, many characters are introduced to the viewer during a
walkthrough steadicam shot of a bar. Most of these characters will be seen later on
in the film, but will only in the background of various scenes. The viewer may
recognise these characters but they still know no more about them. Even with the
main characters there are large gaps in time and
Benjamin Disraeli s Consolidation Of Political Power
For centuries countries around the world have fought over which political party
would benefit their countries the most. In Europe, during the nineteenth century
Benjamin Disraeli and William Gladstone stole the stage in trying to transform the
government that would benefit society. Gladstone and Disraeli both explored the
conservative and liberal parties, but in the end they remained with the party and
beliefs that suited them the most. Although they both faced many challenges with the
economy, they overcame a majority of them through reforms and building a strong
political structure. All over Europe transformations were taking place from changing
political alignments to structuring the perfect government, which allowed for several
domestic reforms to occur. Some of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He began as a liberal, but Disraeli became quickly mainly motivated by the power
to win over the new group of the conservative party. Originally, Robert Peel created
the conservative party, but when it failed, Disraeli took over becoming the leader.
His main reform was the Reform Act of 1867, which became a major step toward the
rebuilding of the system in Britain. This reform decreased the monetary requirements
for voting, but it was still based on land qualifications, and increased the amount of
individuals voting from one million to two million people.
Disraeli believed this reform would appeal to the working classes and eventually
benefit the conservative party. He was highly motivated by winning, but he was
extremely flexible in handling parliamentary reform and structuring a strong political
system that worked. Disraeli s political party was successful, but he did not instill a
lot of reform into society to help society out tremendously. Many of his beliefs are
still permanent beliefs in the conservative party today, such as supporting the working
class, and support for the
How Did Wayne Gretzky Affect Hockey
Hockey All Star
Wayne Gretzky is one of the most amazing hockey players that lived, he set many
records in the sport. Nobody thought he would become this amazing player that he
is, he was always a scrawny kid with no muscle. Gretzky has a positive influence on
hockey because he is turning hockey around, influencing kids and setting National
Hockey League records. In Wayne Gretzky s lifetime, he has been working to turn
hockey around. Wayne has been a game changer to hockey because of the winter
Olympics, strategy and effect, and penalties. When he was 16 when he enter the
Olympics. In the 1981 Canada Cup, he lead the tournament in scoring with 12 points
to a second place finish to the Soviet Union (Wayne_ Gretzky). Next Wayne started

Wayne s intelligence and reading of the game were unrivaled, and he could

teeth, he was just skating away, circling, analyzing things (Wayne_ Gretzky). How
Wayne Gretzky got so good was by practicing, defenceman Bobby Orr said He
passes better than anybody i ve ever seen, and he thinks so far ahead (Wayne_

to play hockey, they thought he was too small and not strong enough. But Wayne
showed everyone wrong. Wayne Gretzky is an idol for many young hockey
Genocide In The Australian Genocide
Genocide has always been present throughout history, whether it is Julius Caesar s
slaughter of the Gauls during his conquest from 58 BCE to 54 BCE or the Rwandan
Genocide in the late 20th Century. Although they have been around for thousands of
years, the term, genocide only recently received a formal definition. In 1948, during
the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust, the United Nations
came together to
establish a concrete definition for the term genocide. The UN s official definition for
genocide stated:
acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial
or religious group, as such:
a.Killing members of the group;
b.Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
c.Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its
physical destruction in whole or in part;
d.Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
e.Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
This definition is still applicable to events that occurred before its creation though,
and one event definitely falls into these criteria. The Australian Aborigines
disappearance is much more than a group of people simply disappearing, it is
actually a genocide spread across hundreds of years, starting in the late 1780 s with
the final culmination of it being formally acknowledged and apologized for in 2008.
This is definitely a genocide, going by the criteria established by the UN

Introduction
Business intelligence and analytics (BIA), a term coined in 1989, has gained much
reaction in the IT practitioner community and academia over the past two decades.
BIA refers to: (1) the technologies, systems, practices, and applications that (2)
analyze critical business data to (3) help an enterprise better understand its business
and market (research paper).
Traditionally, business intelligence (BI) has been used as an umbrella term to
describe the concepts and methods to improve business decision making by using
fact based decision support systems. BI also includes the underlying architectures,
tools, databases, applications, and methodologies. BI s major objectives are to
enable interactive and easy access to diverse data, enable manipulation and
transformation of these data, and provide business managers and analysts the ability
to conduct appropriate analyses and perform the actions [Turban et al. 2008; Wixom
et al. 2011]. Successful BI initiatives have been reported for major industries, from
healthcare and airlines, to major IT and telecommunication firms [Anderson Lehman
et al. 2004; Carte et al. 2005; Turban et al. 2008].
As a datacentric approach, BI heavily relies on the various advanced data collection,
extraction, and analysis

Codeine or methyl morphine, an alkaloid, was first isolated in 1832 from raw opium.
It concentration ranges from 0.2% to 0.8%. Mostly used for its analgesic, anti tussive
and anti diarrheal capabilities (Tremlett, Anderson and Wolf, 2010). Paracetamol also
known as acetaminophen (n acetyl p aminophenol, APAP) on the other hand, is a

Elizabethan Food Dining Essay
Elizabethan Food Dining
For the well to do, eating during the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods was a fancy
affair. A king or queen when going abroad could expect banquet tables filled with
hundreds of dishes for just one meal! There was much pageantry and entertainment.
At Leicester, Queen Elizabeth I (predecessor of King James VI I) was greeted with a
pageant of welcome displayed on a temporary bridge. There were cages of live birds
bitterns, curlews, hernshaws and godwits. One pillar held great silver bowls piled
with apples, pears, cherries, walnuts and filberts. Other pillars held ears of wheat,
oats and barley, gigantic bunches of red and white grapes, great livery pots of claret

Rich Elizabethans loved hospitality and had chronic guests. In following the old
custome, they gathered in the Great Hall where the host sat at the head of the table
and guests were arranged in order of importance. Food was prepared in vast
quantities and what was left over went to servants. After the servants ate, the
remaining food was given to the poor who waited outside the rich men s gates

Teaching Methods Essay
1.Discuss the reasons for selecting the teaching methods used.
In the micro teach session delivered to my peers at college as part of an Assessment,
I chose to use the following teaching methods: * Initial assessment * Brainstorming *
Group work * Differentiation * Constructivist teaching.
Science is a practical subject that requires an academic approach. The methods used
are to promote active learning strategies that engage the student.
As I already teach at KS4, I assumed that this particular group would already be at
the level of teaching and learning in my class, although I did consider initial
assessment methods in my planning. I set out the learning objectives and learning
outcomes so that each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the methods I used was to allow the students to share their knowledge with
each other through mind mapping and then through working together on a true /false
questionnaire.
2.Critically discuss two of the teaching methods used and examine each one in terms
of their strengths and weaknesses.
The first method I would like to discuss is the constructivist approach an active way
of building on students knowledge, ensuring students use and apply the knowledge
given. In my view this method covers all the positive points for exploring a specific
subject, by using the method of the students building their own interpretations of the
information given, as Petty explains: What does it mean exactly to have a full grasp
of a new topic, and to be able to use your learning successfully even in new situations?
(Petty 2004, p. 7), going on to explain the theory behind Bloom s taxonomy, a
hierarchy of learning and putting the attributes to learning in order. In simple terms,
the knowledge a student requires at the beginning is rather basic; then
comprehending the knowledge means that a student has been able to move on by
understanding and explaining.
Once a student has comprehension they (with the help of a teacher) can apply that
comprehension. For example, during the micro teach session once I had given an
overview of the heart, students were able to complete a questionnaire. I could see
from the answers that they had gained

History of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
First recognized in 1980 as a disorder with specific diagnosable symptoms, Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) was seen as a condition where people are
shocked into fear of facing situations. Over the years, it was labeled as Soldier s
Heart in the post Civil war era and Shell Shock in the World War I. In a situation of
fight or flight an individual is triggered to escape from danger, however in PTSD
this reaction is reversed in which case the individual feels a constant threat of danger
even when there is no danger present. The person diagnosed with PTSD can be
anyone from a child to an adult. Many causes of this disorder include traumatic
events, knowing someone who is in danger, genetic factors, and more. Symptoms

The amygdala is known to learn from exposure to fear and store assessment of threat
related stimuli. The prefrontal cortex is involved in extinction and the retention of
fear and is connected to the amygdala. Finally, the hippocampus encodes the context
during fear learning process and sends it to the amygdala. People with PTSD have
hyper activity in the amygdala, while having hypo activity in the prefrontal cortex
and there is reduction of the hippocampus volume. This reduction may limit proper
evaluation and categorization of the experience. A study on Vietnam soldiers
revealed that lesions in the amygdala and prefrontal cortex resulted in the absence of
PTSD. To get further into the molecular level studies been done on the hormonal
system. Stress is known to contribute to the pathogenesis of a variety of disorders,
including the majority of psychiatric like major depression and posttraumatic stress
disorder. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3825244/pdf/DM30 02
343616.pdf). Research has revealed evidence that a hormonal system known as the
hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis is the one that gets disrupted in people
with PTSD. The hormonal system is involved in normal stress reactions, so the
disruption of this system in people with PTSD creates this false alarm . It has been
suggested by some scientist that the dysfunction of the HPA system results in
hippocampal damage in people with PTSD. Damage in the hormones is caused by

Differences Between Judaism And Judaism
Judaism has a concrete connection to the development of Christianity which has
influenced the teachings of the religion that would not be made possible without its
presence. There are similarities between the Christian faiths to Judaism from how the
religions are practiced to the hymns that are shared between the two. A primary
difference is the historical background to the discovery of the religions. Another
difference would be the sacred text that are used in prayer considering Judaismuses
the Hebrew bibleand Christians use the New Testament. The Hebrew bible is referred
to as the Old Testament yet that might not be the case according to Jews. A similarity
from the two religions is the fact that they are both monotheism which is the belief
that there is only one God. Yet the two differ on the beliefs on the one that is called
God or the divine. Another fascinating similarity that the two share are the Ten
Commandments. The commandments were discovered by Moses on two tablets
which has been practice by Jews primarily. The adaptation of the commandments
were carried over into the New Testament. Considering most of the Hebrew Bible
shares a cross connection into the New testament it is clear that it would not have
been created without the influence of Judaism.
Judaism is a temple based religion that is practice in a synagogue that originated in
Israel. Moses was the first author to the scrolls called the Torah. The verbal teachings
of Judaism was how Moses spread the word

How To Organize An Argumentative Essay

  • 1. How To Organize An Argumentative Essay Writing an essay on the topic "How To Organize An Argumentative Essay" can present both challenges and rewards. The difficulty lies in the intricate balance between providing clear, concise information and maintaining a compelling argumentative structure. It requires a comprehensive understanding of the elements that constitute a well-organized argumentative essay. One of the challenges is establishing a coherent and logical flow throughout the essay. The writer needs to carefully plan the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion to ensure that each part seamlessly connects to the next. This involves choosing a compelling thesis statement that encapsulates the main argument and constructing topic sentences for each paragraph that support and build upon that thesis. Another difficulty is incorporating evidence effectively. In an argumentative essay, evidence plays a crucial role in supporting the claims made by the author. Selecting relevant and persuasive evidence, citing sources appropriately, and seamlessly integrating it into the text require meticulous attention to detail. Furthermore, achieving a balanced tone is crucial in argumentative writing. Striking the right balance between presenting a strong, persuasive argument and acknowledging counterarguments demonstrates a nuanced understanding of the topic. This adds depth to the essay and enhances its overall credibility. Additionally, mastering transitions between paragraphs and ideas is essential for a well- organized argumentative essay. Smooth transitions guide the reader through the essay's logical progression, enhancing comprehension and engagement. Failure to provide clear connections between ideas can result in a disjointed and confusing essay. Among these four versions, they both discuss the same story line without much variation. • 3. Antiauthoritarianism In Australia Essay Aussie VC recipient Mark Donaldson, wasn t always a hero. (Source: Yahoo News) At home and abroad we like to be seen as a country who promotes free speech, equality before the law, and an array of other freedoms. However some misinterpret this promotion of freedom for a more antiauthoritarian attitude. Australia is known internationally for Kangaroos, cork hats, and a pair of thongs. Australians themselves are known as easy going, relaxed sports fans, who seem to have our own style of doing things. Australian history and popular culture over the years has influenced these stereotypes which ... If it wasn t for Fitzpatrick, we d be meeting in entirely different circumstances. (Our Sunshine P90)further has an effect on how other nations see us and how we see ourselves. The way we promote freedom in our politics and our laws has also been shaped by history, and how we and others view us has been shaped by history and popular culture as well. But is it fair to call us antiauthoritarian? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kelly and his gang were known bush rangers around in the 1800s, he was declared an outlaw after killing three police officers and under declaration from the Queen herself any citizen was allowed to gun them down on sight. This being true it is a wonder why he has been made a popular Aussie icon in todays times. People can get Ned Kelly themed shirts, tattoos, stickers, even coffee mugs. However, it is possible that what us Aussies are really seeing are the circumstances that put Kelly into that position rather than just his final cause? The Kelly s have been presented through popular media, books, and movies as a group targeted and harassed by the corrupt police of New South Wales, this persecution brings out our Australian temperament of a fair go. It can also be noted the generally Kelly is not a symbol of a rebel, rather as a symbol of a man of the

How To Graduate High School When I was in high school I didn t feel like doing any work because I used to see it as a waste of time so in high school freshmen year I had almost all f s on my report card. My teachers told me that I wasn t going to be anything in life and my family would joke around and tell me I would work for minimum wage. So I told everyone that I was going to change my life around and graduate high schoolbut the way I was going they didn t believe that I could ever change. No one really believed me and they thought I was just trying to make myself feel better. I ignored everyone who thought that I couldn t do it and started taking school serious in my sophomore year. I would start showing up early to all of my classes which never happened before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I went to talk to my counselor s, and asked them what I needed to graduate high school. They gave me the requirements to graduate but I was behind in a lot of senior classes. I asked them if they had any online courses where I could take a class faster and catch up with the seniors. they let me stay after school and use the computer at the library to take the online courses. After a couple of months of online courses and hard work. I was all caught up with the seniors. The end of the school year was close and it was the moment I was waiting for. When I was walking that stage all my teachers, friends, and even some of my family was surprised. My family knew that I was graduating one day ahead only because I gave them the tickets to show up. This experience changed my whole life around. Before I went through this accomplishment in my life. I was lazy, angry, and I didn t really have any goals in life I didn t have anything to look forward to. I was an angry person because I always blamed other people for my mistakes, and I thought everyone was against me because they don t want to see me succeed. I realized that at the end of day no one actually cares about your life more than yourself. I became motivated and interested in my education. Now I have attainable goals that I want to accomplish and have a successful
  • 5. The Energy Crisis In America The energy crisis in America is often placed on the back burner to the average American citizen. Generally, one will only care about this crisis when the price of gas changes. The energy crisis, however, is a prominent issue as it is ongoing and getting worse, despite many efforts (Rinkesh). The world s natural resources, such as oil, coal, and natural gas, cannot supply the world s increasing demand. The amount of crude oil available is only 2 percent higher than the demand for it (Muise). If the demand expands any higher, then the limited supply of natural resources will be gone for good ( Learn about Energy ). It is projected that there is enough oil to last 34 more years, enough natural gas to last 53 more years, and enough coal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since no one has been able to propose a solution that is realistic, I put the solution upon myself. I have created a bulletproof plan that will not only solve the energy crisis, but it will help to decrease in obesity, the environment, and create jobs killing four birds with one stone. Humans all around the world will defeat this problem by creating and providing their own energy for themselves. They will do this by riding a bike, that will be connected to a power bank, in one s own house. Every day, before and after work, people will ride a bike. The power bank will be linked to household appliances such as the refrigerators TVs, and heating systems. The longer the person rides it, then the more electricity they get for their house. The average hour riding a bike will provide 6 hours of electricity. Of course, this is also dependent on how many electricity run products are in one s home If the person has more electrical items, then they will need to ride for longer amounts of time because the energy will be traveling to copious places. Using this method of energy will decrease the use of harmful fossil fuels and decrease the amount of unpredictable renewable resources by creating man made energy that can supply the needs of
  • 6. The Gap Between Women And Women Introduction For many years, women trailed behind men in educational attainment. Men had greater access to college and earned more of the degrees awarded. Census data from the 1960s indicates that men were awarded nearly twice as many of the bachelor degrees than women. Goldin, Katz, and Kuziemko (2006) identified the highpoint of the college graduate gender imbalance in 1947 when the ratio of men to women enrolled in college was 2.3 to 1. They point out that following World War II, men enrolled in large numbers as a result of the GI bill. From that time, however, women have been slowly narrowing the gap. By 1980, the gap in enrollment and degree completion between men and women had disappeared (Goldin et al., 2006). Fast forward to the present, women have not only closed the educational attainment gap, but they have reversed it holding a larger portion of the undergraduate enrollment and degree completion than their male counterparts (Ge Yang, 2013). College enrollment, resulting in educational attainment, results from achievement at the high school level, where students receive their preparation for post secondary schooling, referred to as college readiness. High school is also where students compete with one another for freshmen admissions into college. It is at this level that the imbalance in educational attainment has been delineated. Statement of the Problem This paper, then, addresses the problem of disparity in college readiness measured by the a g
  • 7. The Influence Of Abstract And Modern Art Abstract and modern art have really changed the way society views and appreciation for the amazing contributions and work created by artists. There are so many styles and concepts which those artists have come up with over times which are greatly reflected in their paintings and creations. In this essay we will be going on a journey to find out the inspiration and the intended messages from three paintings mentioned in the above topic. The Large Bathers, 1898 1905 is the largest of Cezanne s pictures and because it is also the most formal in aspect, it has been cited often as an example of his ideal of composition and his restoration if classical monumentality after its lapse during the nineteenth century (www.PaulCezanne.org). This painting was one of the most mind blowing yet interesting pieces during this era because of its unfinished quality which caused quite a stir among writers, artists and historians. The nude forms presented along with the river and triangular pattern in which the trees were painted gives quite an interesting perspective to his work. The composition of the painting did not reflect the ideal typical style from the Renaissance pyramid. Instead it was created in another style where the central part is empty, the apex is intercepted by the frame and the greatest compactness comes in smaller pyramids for the largest figures. One can also notice from Cezanne s work the way he thought about portrayed women. The abstract nude females present in Large
  • 8. Effective Communication And Good Leadership Skills Every group, institution or company needs to communicate internally as well as externally to deliver and manages the things in best possible way (Linjuan Rita Men, 2015). Managers or leaders for such task are responsible for successful communication and understanding of messages with each and every attendee involved. A person having good leadershipskills but lack in skills of communication will never be preferred in any industry for conduction and delivering meetings and speeches or any other sort of public communication. Effective communication skills are necessary not only in business meetings but also in several other private and public relations including hospitals, educational institutions and industry. Work to be completed by groups needs to discuss plan, its strategy and future direction and cooperative coordination which can only be achieved by integrating great leadership skills with effective communicating styles (Vries, Bakker Pieper Oostenveld, 2010). A combination of these can only lead any group towards success. It can help a team to achieve their goal once they are clear to them. Unclear communication and poor managementmay demotivate members, which may lower their interest and passion for the work. • 9. Keeping A Healthy Lifestyle On Food Intake Introduction Our bodies need certain things in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Food is a key ingredient to helping sustain our health throughout our life. When looking at our diet, we need to look beyond total calories consumed. Instead, we need to break the foods down into the different molecules that provide our body the proper nutrients to thrive and grow. Macronutrients are required by our bodies to properly function, and are needed for growth and energy. These macronutrients consist of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates which we obtain from the foods we eat. Tracking food intake is one way to analyze how food consumption meets, exceeds or falls short of recommended values. Through behavior modification and small, specific goals, positive dietary changes can help maintain long term health. Proteins are the building blocks of our bodies. From DNA to muscles, protein is a major part of our bodies. Protein is found in meats, poultry, dairy, nuts, and fish. Each gram of protein we eat consists of 4 calories. Proteins are made up of amino acids, known as the building blocks of proteins. There are 20 amino acids, 9 of which are essential, since they are only obtained from the food in our diet. The other 11 amino acids are considered non essential because our bodies have the ability to create these amino acids. Lipids, or fats, are important to our bodies. Lipids in our diet come from foods such as meats, nuts, dairy and oils. Each gram
  • 10. Analysis Of The Short Story Marzipan By Aimee Bender What Does Marzipan Argue About Genders People deal with loss and grief differently. However, such behavioral patterns could differ between different gender groups as their collective norms and values may differ. As dealing with loss and grief is an inevitable part of our experience, we must acknowledge those differences and learn to work with our partners in life. In the short story Marzipan the author Aimee Bender examines the roles loss and grief played in the two genders. While loss and grief usually cause passive and incommunicable emotions among men, women opt for disguising their emotions. Those stereotypical views about gender distinction, are supported and enforced by the traditional familystructure reconstructed by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The young sisters, who know little about their father s suffering, make fun of the hole without knowing the consequence of their action. The father is unable to intervene on his daughters behalf, as he sits there face paled. (40), till the mother orders the children to keep quiet. Apparently, his role in the family structure prevents him from expressing his emotion directly to his children. Nevertheless, after a visit to the doctor, it turns out that the father s internal organs are intact despite their state of severe deformation, which shows the father s incredible determination to remain functional in his family role after his tragic loss. Ironically, the doctors pronounced him in great health (41), which implies that apparent defects in mental health could be suppressed by the father s unwillingness to challenge his image as a man, thus they are not easily detectable. The father s behavioral patterns after his father s death are in accordance to many stereotypical views of men. However, the father does not display masculine traits at the time of the funeral, where man behaviors such as weeping become appropriate. Aimee inserts the description of this event in the middle of the story in order to contrast stereotypical views of man with real human emotions a man may have. After the funeral, when the narrator asks the father about his experience, the father says I cried (45) and described the event as very sad (46). The father
  • 11. Comparing Mending Wall And Tear Down This Wall By Ronald... Some walls aren t only physical, but there are ones that are inside of us. The Mending Wall by Robert Frost and Tear Down This Wall by Ronald Reagan are brilliant examples of how, not only nature, but humans as well do not like walls. Walls form separation, and they also affect people, countries, and civilizations. The theme of separation is evident in Mending Wall and Tear Down This Wall. Robert Frost explains how nature tears down a wall they build every year because even nature doesn t like the idea of segregation. Reagan demonstrates his disbelief in walls by going to Berlin and rallying the people to tear down the scar of a wall. Not only do walls form separation, they also effect people. As well as separating people
  • 12. Alternative Fee Arrangements ( Afas ) Despite the growing trend toward alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), most law firms would prefer they were just a passing fad. Clients, on the other hand, are attracted to AFAs because they offer predictability at a time when budgets are under increasing pressure. It s not surprising, then, that in a 2014 Canadian Lawyer Corporate Counsel Survey, 75.6 percent of corporate counsels say they would be receptive if a firmother than their current external law firm proposed an alternate fee arrangement. Clearly every firm needs to address AFAs, but before you dive in, be aware of the pitfalls. A separatory funnel was used to separate the two compounds and then they were examined with infrared spectroscopy. The glycerol showed some OH bonding participating possibly in Hydrogen bonding at about 3400 cm^ 1. It also showed another peak at about 2900 cm^ 1 which could indicate some carbon hydrogen bonding occurring. The Biodiesel however looked completely different with a peak at about 1750 cm^ 1 indicating ester presence and also peaks at around 2900 and 2850 possibly showing carbon hydrogen bonding. Results proved esterification of our compound and separation from the fatty acid. Introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second is that such evil is compatible, and even appears to ally itself easily, with exceptional powers of will and intellect (William, 87). Even the Mexican people born in the United Statesare criticized just as much as immigrants are because of their race, name, or just because they may look like the typical Mexican to other people but how can someone try to marginalize other documented citizens for such simple characteristics? It s sad and upsetting to see how a single person can corrupt most individuals to believe such remarks made towards my Mexican community to get votes for a presidential election. Trump as we all know it has made many remarks towards Mexicans while running for office and this sparked a racial conflict between Mexicans vs the people who support his mindless verbal attacks, when Trump was running for office he made this remark that stood out to me a lot, When Mexicosends its people, they re not sending their best... I like to believe I am a very strong willed and sometimes stubborn person. I also believe everyone has moments where they reach their limit and must decide whether or not to raise the bar. My first day of track practice was one of those moments. I don t believe I fully understood what I was getting myself into that day. I walked through the gym door nervous and filled with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. The first thing I noticed was how many people there were. The entire gym had people circling the perimeter. I mean it was insane. It felt like everyone I had ever known to be in sports was there. People I had never even said a word to had managed find to their way to the gym. I was out of my league and out of my mind. I couldn t do this. I m going to make a fool of myself. Everyone here is conditioned for this and they ve done this before. They know what is going to happen. I was standing there, looking around like an idiot. The first person I recognize and actually talk to is Franky. I attempt to casually sneak my way over to him. I feel like a fish out of water. I decide that if I ever get confused as to what to do I must have a plan. Ask Franky. That was the best I could come up with. The warm ups and stretching weren t so bad. I was left out of breath from the quicker ones, but I felt I would recover in time for the real workout. When coach shouted

Piano Lessons At The Age Of 6 Music, in one way or another, is a part of everyone s life, whether it is listening to music when travelling or learning how to play a musical instrument (Stutz). Beginning piano lessons at the age of 6, I have developed a passion for music and find it to be a way to escape from a hectic life. A requirement of the Royal Conservatory of Music, a corporation that runs exams to test the ability of music students, is to learn music history, and during the course, I was amazed at the fact that when two instruments, for example the flute and oboe, play the same note, they soundentirely different. The difference in sounds can even be heard in instruments that are similar in nature, for instance, the pianoand the keyboard. When practicing piano pieces for exams or piano festivals, I go online to listen to the interpretations of others for inspiration. I usually find videos of people playing a piano, but sometimes there are people playing a keyboard. What surprised me was that the sounds of the keyboard and the piano were entirely different, and this difference was especially noticeable practicing for a performance. The practice room only contained a keyboard, and after playing the keyboard, I realized that the music sounded much emptier compared to a piano. That got me to wonder, what makes two instruments sound entirely different, even when playing the same note? From comparing sounds from the keyboard and piano, I came to a conclusion that even though the two instruments are

Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant who traveled over land from Venice for half of his journey from Acre to Beijing. From Beijing he traveled the South China Sea, through the Indian Ocean, to the Arabic Sea and continuing his journey on land from Ormuz to Venice. The passage we were given to read concentrated on Marco Polo s journey through Persia and Southwest Asia. While visiting Zafari, Ibn Battuta was shown great hospitality by two shakihs. Abu l Abbas Ahmad and Abu Abdallah Muhammad, sons of the shaikh Abu Bakr. They were both men of great benevolence. When they washed their hands after a meal, Abu l Abbas, took that water in which they washed, drank some of it, and sent the servant with the rest of it to his wives and children, and they drank it as well. This is what they do with all visitors to them in whom they perceived indications of goodness. Battuta was also entertained by Abu Hashim al Zabidi, who personally served and washed his hands, not delegating it to anyone else. In 1999, RPMs would advance 2.5% to 605 billion, while real GDP is seen growing 1.7%. The recently sluggish pace for air travel represents a break from the normal pattern: since 1987, air travel has grown 1.8 times faster than real GDP. Two elements are working against air travel at present. First, the industry is experiencing a cyclical slowdown that has its origins in the Asian financial crisis. Second, with the days of deeply discounted fares over, fewer first time travelers are entering the market. The big swing factor for air travel in 1998 and 1999 will be the international market. International travel accounts for some 27% of total Revenues per mile (RPM) and 22% of revenues for the largest U.S. carriers. For the first eight months of 1998, international RPMs climbed 3.7% over the year earlier period. However, as capacity grew 5.8%, the load factor deteriorated to 73.7% from 75.2%. Most of the international weakness is confined to Asia, where traffic is off about 8%. Genocide In The Australian Genocide Genocide has always been present throughout history, whether it is Julius Caesar s slaughter of the Gauls during his conquest from 58 BCE to 54 BCE or the Rwandan Genocide in the late 20th Century. Although they have been around for thousands of years, the term, genocide only recently received a formal definition. In 1948, during the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust, the United Nations came together to establish a concrete definition for the term genocide. The UN s official definition for genocide stated: acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: a.Killing members of the group; b.Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c.Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d.Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e.Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. This definition is still applicable to events that occurred before its creation though, and one event definitely falls into these criteria. The Australian Aborigines disappearance is much more than a group of people simply disappearing, it is actually a genocide spread across hundreds of years, starting in the late 1780 s with the final culmination of it being formally acknowledged and apologized for in 2008. This is definitely a genocide, going by the criteria established by the UN

In my view this method covers all the positive points for exploring a specific subject, by using the method of the students building their own interpretations of the information given, as Petty explains: What does it mean exactly to have a full grasp of a new topic, and to be able to use your learning successfully even in new situations?
