Women Education Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of women's education poses a unique set of challenges. The
complexity arises not only from the vastness of the topic but also from the need to navigate
through a myriad of perspectives, historical contexts, and societal nuances. To delve into the
intricacies of women's education, one must tread carefully, balancing a nuanced understanding
of gender issues with a comprehensive exploration of educational policies and cultural influences.
The difficulty intensifies as the essay requires a careful examination of the historical backdrop,
analyzing the evolution of women's access to education and the societal shifts that have
influenced these changes. This involves delving into the struggles faced by women in different
periods, acknowledging milestones achieved, and critiquing the persisting disparities. The task is
not merely to narrate the story but to illuminate the underlying forces that have shaped women's
educational opportunities.
Furthermore, discussing contemporary challenges in women's education involves navigating
through the complexities of gender bias, societal expectations, and systemic barriers. Addressing
these issues requires a nuanced understanding of intersectionality, recognizing that the
experiences of women in education can vary significantly based on factors such as race,
socioeconomic status, and geographical location.
On a broader scale, the essay must consider global perspectives, exploring how different cultures
and regions approach women's education. This adds a layer of complexity, demanding a
comparative analysis that goes beyond surface-level observations to identify underlying cultural
norms and values.
Crafting a well-rounded essay on women's education also necessitates a forward-looking
approach. It requires proposing feasible solutions to address existing challenges and advocating
for policies that can foster gender equality in education. This demands a careful balance between
optimism and pragmatism, acknowledging the progress made while highlighting the work that
remains to be done.
In conclusion, writing an essay on women's education requires not only thorough research and
analysis but also a sensitivity to the multifaceted nature of the topic. It demands a delicate
balance between historical context, contemporary challenges, and future aspirations. While the
endeavor may be challenging, it is undoubtedly crucial for fostering a deeper understanding of
the complexities surrounding women's education and promoting meaningful discussions on the
path forward.

Computational Scale Out Workloads Applications
Abstract Scale out workloads are applications that are typically executed in a cloud
environment and exhibit high level of request level parallelism. Such workloads
benefit from processor organizations with very high core count since multiple
requests can be serviced simultaneously by threads running on these cores. The
characteristics of these workloads indicate that they have high instruction
footprints exceeding the capacities of private caches, operate on large datasets with
limited reuse and have minimal coherence activity due to lesser data sharing. The
characteristics also indicate that the active instruction window can be captured by
a Last Level Cache (LLC) size of 8MB. New processor organizations have been
discussed in literature that tailors the interconnection among cores to match the
communication pattern arising out of the characteristics of scale out workloads.
The focus of the current work is to take the approach of separating a core and LLC
bank from a single tile as specified in literature and design a different
interconnection topology for cores and LLC banks to reduce the latency of
accessing the LLC to improve performance. In the current work, four cores and a
LLC bank are designed to connect to a routerforming a star topology and the routers
( 4) are designed to form a 2D flattened butterfly topology. The current design has
been targeted at 8 cores and has been implemented using the Bluespec System Verilog

Compare And Contrast The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The
Flood
When examining the story of the Biblical flood, it is essential to point out that
there are other flood stories in Ancient Near Eastern cultures. In fact, there are up to
sixty eight different cultures with stories of a great flood! It is important for one to
see how each flood story affects and influences one another. For example, it is
evident that the Babylonian culture influenced the writer of the Biblical flood story,
which was made hundreds of years after the making of the Babylonian story. One of
the greatest examples of this is in The Epic of Gilgamesh, a Babylonian story that
includes the tale of Utnapishtim, a man some would like to say is similar to the
character Noah in a few ways. Both men are called upon by a being of higher... Show

As stated in the article Background Info on the Flood Stories , each story has
unique elements, and the differences from the Biblical story are often more striking
than the similarities . For example, in the Atrahasis Epic, one of the gods in the
story punishes humanity because of the amount of noise made and in The Epic of
Gilgamesh, the god Enlil destroys the city where Utnapishtim is living
in(presumably furious with mankind). In the Genesis Flood Story, the Yahwist
version depicts YHWH as regretting His creation, while the Priestly version depicts
God as tired of human corruption. In all three stories, the gods send the flood for
similar reasons; they are angry with humanity. However, this is where the similarities
end. In Genesis, God floods the world in the pursuit of justice/regret, while the god
in Atrahasis is angry for a less significant offense. Though flooding the world is an
unjustified action, it is interesting that a god would be irritated enough at noise to
want to eradicate humanity. These stories are all more intriguing when compared
because it helps us to better understand the motivations of each being that causes the
flood event.Again, in the article Background Info on the Flood Stories , the author
talks about how each of these stories have a different religious interpretation than the
Biblical flood story. This is especially since the people involved(Noah,

Historians categorize blocks of time with the discovery of certain raw materials that
humans utilized. The Bronze Age and the Iron Age were two periods in human
history that proved through the discovery of artifacts that humans learned to harness
these raw materials ingeniously. The Industrial Revolution of the late nineteenth
century brought the discoveries of the Bronze and Iron Ages to new heights, and the
advent of the locomotive, automobiles, cargo ships and airplanes were the most
evident by products of such raw materials. Use of these by products from the earth s

The Rape of Lucretia
The time is the sixth century, the place is Rome and the person is Lucretia, a woman
who contributed to one of the biggest parts of Roman history: the creation of the
Roman republic. The rape of the virtuous Lucretia by Sextus Tarquinius, the son of
Tarquinius Superbus (an Etruscan king) was the final straw for the Roman people
and pushed them to want to change from a monarchy to a republic. From the
accounts of the rape of Lucretiafrom ancient historians like Livy, Cicero and
Dionysius, it is clear that Lucretias rape not only spurred the roman people to want
to get rid of the Etruscan King and his family, but also revealed the important role of
virtue in women in roman society. There is no doubt that Lucretia, the wife of... Show

Sextus saw what he desired and he took it, as his father had done and as Tullia
always encouraged. The rape occurred a couple of days after Collatinus contest
when Sextus went to Collatinus house, knowing he was not there, and was
welcomed as a guest by Lucretia. Later on, when it was nighttime and everyone
was asleep, Sextus snuck into Lucretias room and tried to seduce her before he
raped her. This was recorded by Livy who writes Sextus urged his love, begged her
to submit...used every weapon that might conquer a woman s heart (101) as well
as by Dionysius who writes that Sextus told Lucretia if you will consent to gratify
me, I will make you my wife, and with me you shall reign (65) After Lucretia
rejects all his attempts to seduce her because she would rather die than be raped
and lose her virtue, Sextus turns to manipulation and threatens her virtue by saying
that after he kills her he will lay her body next to that of a dead slaves and tell
people that he had caught her having impure relations with the slave. This would ruin
her virtuous image and good reputation long after her death so Lucretia, who is more
threatened by disgrace than by death, unwillingly submits herself to him. Through
these accounts one can see that it is not clear whether Sextus was in love or merely
in lust with Lucretia for he starts declaring his love for her, then tries to seduce her
by telling her everything she

Protection: During the installation process, is it important that no damage will be
done to your home. A lot of contractors are aware of the potential damage that can
be done while they are working and actually have several ways they protect your

Challenging the Notions of Loyalty in State of War by...
Loyalty and honor are of the highest value in the eyes of the samurai. This is a
statement that many scholars and young educated persons believe to be true on
the basis of assumption. Thomas Conlan challenges this preconceived notion of
loyalty and honor in his book State of War by piecing together a much more
difficult and situationally based definition of loyalty which differed depending on
the samurai and by observing how times of war and hardship truly challenged an
individual s sense of honor. Loyalty is a difficult term to define when considering a
couple of key factors. First of all, samurai had more than one aspect in which to be
loyal. Samurai had to be loyal in respect to themselves and their own personal moral
code and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other cases of disloyalty didn t cause quite the ruckus that Fukusuke s supposed
disloyalty did. A samurai named Mori Motoharu changed sides multiple times
without consequence. Motoharu started fighting with loyalty to Ashikaga Takauji,
rebelled against Takauji in 1350, only to end up fighting for him again in 1360.
Loyalty to oneself directly deals with doing what one believes is morally correct
versus what one is forced to do when backed into a corner. The decisions between
right and wrong aren t blurred but harder to abide by when in times of war and
suffering. Samurai had to make less than honorable choices such as stealing from
temples, travelers, and merchants during rough times. Integrity of the samurai were
also challenged in times of war. Rewards could be granted for losses, such as losing
a horse or a disciple (armor weapons) or getting injured. A samurai could gain status
among his peers by killing a noble warrior and presenting this noble warrior s head in
proof of killing them. Both reward, such as land, money, or compensation, and status
were important to samurai, more so to some than others, and thus challenged their
honor and integrity. Many samurai abandoned their moral to attempt to cheat the
system in order to gain. Embellishing a
Pros And Cons Of Influencer Marketing

the cyber world, netizens just cannot help discussing about internet celebrities. What

are success drivers first because they are trusted to choose the right influencers. As
long as audiences trust their influencers, influencer marketing will not be dead. It is
down to the agencies but the influencers also play their part. Another aspect to
consider is that influencer marketing agencies that have a more manual approach will
progressively put themselves out of business. Technological businesses will gradually
replace them because they know how to get a one to one relationship with the
influencers but also to identify them through technology. Many people tend to
conciliate influence with popularity. Influencers are not only ideas maker; they also
have a highly engaged community. The first objective of influencer marketing is not
only to generate viral content but to interact and engage with a target audience
through the influencer s voice. All in all, influencer marketing is evolving at a rapid

say that the Speer family was more than well off. The Speer family had their own

Speer was the upper class instead of the upper middle which he classified himself into.

Speer s decision on joining the Nazi party had an improvement of impact to his work
as an architect. Even though that didn t give him many opportunities to create

given the chance to redecorate headquarters, Speer still had shown that he was a
willing and capable person to achieving anything and by doing so it had created
more jobs and had pushed him closer and closer into becoming a well know
architect. Having seen the plans for the Nuremburg rallies Speer, being a person to

would make them walk into the stadium at night that then they were confronted with

Abstract
This research is titled as the impact of liquidity and capital structure on the financial
performance of Cement sector firm. Capital structure and liquidity both play a vital
role in growth and profitability of the firm. The data of fifteen cement sector firms
were randomly analyzed, for the period of 2008 to 2014. The statistical approaches
i.e. correlation, fixed effect, random effect and hausman tests were applied. The
results indicated that all capital structure variables, i.e. Debt to equity, debt ratio,
funded capital ratio and Funded debt ratio has negative relationship with firm
financial performance of these selected cement sector firms. The results also
indicated that liquidity proxies, i.e. quick ratio and current ratio have significant
positive impact on the financial performance of these cement sector firms. On the
bases of the findings of this study it is suggested that these firm s manager should
take care of its capital structure proxies as it negatively impacting its financial
performance. On the bases of findings, it is also advised that these managers should
further improve the mechanism of liquidity.

How Is Sound Design Used In The Movie Gravity
I never had seen the movie Gravity, although I have seen the trailer back then. For
some reason, films like this always get me a little bit sad, just as the movie
Interstellar (for those of you who have seen the movie Interstellar, you know it is
sad). On the other hand, I am very fond of the sound design used in the movie. The
image and the sound definitely complement each other. In the beginning of the
movie, just as a general knowledge, we are aware that the sounds used are somewhat
real because of the usual sound used that we already knew what it sounds like. For
example, the sound of Dr. Stone talking on the microphone, the sound of the
disorienting space shuttle, the sound of the tool wrenching into a screw, the grasping

Fathers Attitude of Love Towards Sinners. Essay
Fathers Attitude of Love Towards Sinners
The Parable of the Prodigal Son reveals both Gods love for those who are ready to
accept it, which in this case is the prodigal son who returns to his father, and his
rejection of the self centered righteousness. Repentance and forgiveness are essential
to everyday life. In the book of Luke, the parable of the prodigal son is told. The
father in the parable represents God. The prodigal son is symbolic of one who is
living in sin, repents, and returns to fellowship with God. The prodigal son decided
he had enough under his father and wanted to be on his own. Not only did he want to
leave, but he also wanted to take his share of the inheritance that he was not supposed
to get until his fathers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It may seem like freedom at first, but in the end, our rebellion traps and shackles us.
This is called sin. Sin at first, is very attractive to the human, but in the end it leads
to destruction. God did not approve of rebellious attitudes nor of evil deeds, but he
welcomes the sinners back and restores them to favor when they are remorseful.
The prodigal son finally came to his senses. He was no longer grasping for his
fathers riches, and was happy to turn from disobedience and be an obedient servant
of his father. He was ashamed and planned to return to his father, confess his sin,
and ask to be hired as a servant. To acknowledge ones sin and turn from it is known
as repentance. This kind of repentance leads to forgiveness. The son became aware
of his sin, and wanted to change. The father knew his son would not find true
fulfillment in which he was looking for in the lifestyle he was leading. I found it to
be ironic that everything the prodigal son wanted in the far off country was right at
home. He had abundance, freedom, and rejoicing. The father was waiting for his
prodigal son. Instead of punishing the prodigal son for his irrational behavior, the
father welcomes his son with open arms. The father does not wait for the son to

Temple Grandin Reflection
This film was based on a real person, Temple Grandin, who be diagnosed with
autism when she was four years old. Temple s mom worked very hard to teach her
language, basic living and social skills; and she be sent to schools to receive an
education like other children. One of her high school teachers, Dr. Carlock, not
only taught Temple science knowledge, but also guided Temple to view herself
more positively. He taught Temple to view changes in her life as different doors,
and all she needs to do is go through. Temple kept using that measure when she
faced challenges. Before she went to university, Temple found out she like to work
with animals in her aunt s farm. She also tried to use a machine, which farmers
used to calm cows, to help herself relax. Later, when she felt stressful in university,
she built a similar machine to calm herself. In order to keep and use that machine in
her room, Temple created her own science experiment which proved that her machine
could benefit other people. She also made friend with her roommate. After graduated
from university, Temple continued to engage in animal research. She completed her
master degree, and designed facilities for feedlots and slaughterhouses. When she
visited national meeting with her mom in 1981, Temple made public speech and
shared her personal experiences with others. The story in this film goes through the
end of the asylum era (between the 1870s to the 1960s), and parts of the post asylum

The Epidemic Of Influenza Vaccine
Each year, there is an estimated 36,000 deaths associated with influenza, about 1,250
from the United States. Influenza (also known as the flu) is a highly contagious
respiratory illness that attacks the upper respiratory tract. In some cases, it can cause
a mild to severe illness, but in other in others it can lead to death. Many try to
eliminate getting the flu at all by getting an influenzavaccine. The influenza vaccine
has produced controversy all over the United States, as some say it is highly
dangerous, while most medical professionals strongly advise it. Although it may be
the greatest chance of not catching influenza, it can come with serious
complications and side effects that can damage or even kill a person. The current
debate on the topic questions whether the vaccine is safe, if it s necessary, and if it
actually works. Influenza usually spreads around the United States every winter,
usually between October and May. It is characterized by a sudden onset of a high
fever, headache, cough, sore throat, muscle or body aches, runny or stuffy nose, and
fatigue. Most people recover within one to two weeks without requiring any medical
treatment. Unlike a cold, the flu comes on more suddenly and usually lasts longer.
Most people can get sick with influenza several times during their lives. Flu viruses
are always changing and mutating. After about two weeks, the flu vaccine itself
causes antibodies to develop in the body. Those antibodies provide protection against
Quotes In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is set in the 1912 although it was written during 1945. It is
based upon an apparent suicide of a girl called Eva Smith. The reasons for her
death are revealed to the audience through a sequence of events that happened
before she died. The people who contributed to her death are the members of the
capitalist Birling family. The main reason for Inspector s appearance in the play s to
reveal the truth not only about the crime but also to make The Birlings feel collective
responsibility for actions or inactions that led to Eva s death.
Priestley presents The Inspector to the audience as a social activist. His main aim
is to teach the Birlings about the insignificance of money and power when it comes
being a part of a society. He believes they live in a bubble of capitalism ; oblivious
to reality. We are members of one body is a powerful phrase used by the Inspector to
knock some sense into The Birlings, teaching them the importance of community.
The Inspector uses personal pronouns very often. For instance: We suggests that he is
talking on behalf of everyman and not just an individual. It also shows that along
with him, everyone else is part of one society. This pronoun also means that they are
all inter connected, no matter what they think and which social class they belong to.

One opinion or action could affect someone else, even if, it may have or might have
not been intentional. One body is a metaphor for society, in which everybody is a
member and holds great importance and significance to the community. Body noun
in this context means that society is just like a human body, where each and every

Spastic Cerebral Palsy
Spastic cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that unfolds in the developing brain
either right before birth or shortly after, typically before the child turns one year of
age. Head injuries that occur several weeks after birth may also cause spastic cerebral
palsy. Spastic cerebral palsy makes up roughly eighty percent of all cerebral palsy
cases, since there are other types; spastic is considered to be the most common.
Spastic cerebral palsy causes neuromuscular mobility impairment meaning that there
is a lack in connection between the nerves and muscles. The two parts of the brain
affected by spastic cerebral palsy are the cerebral motor cortex and the white matter.
The cerebral motor cortex is responsible for movement, hearing, speech, thinking,
visual processing etc. Therefore if the cerebral motor cortex is damaged then all
those previously listed may be affected. White matter is responsible for transmitting
signals to the body, consequently if it is damaged, nervesignals are interrupted.
(Common Parts of the Brain Affected by Cerebral Palsy.) Spastic cerebral palsy
carries many symptoms which include musclespasticity/stiffness, joint contracture,
paralysis, seizures, dysarthria, difficulty eating/swallowing, drooling, irregular
breathing (respiratory problems), unsteady gait, learning disabilities, hearing/eyesight
problems, slower growth than average, scoliosis, bowel problems, or urinary

Where The Wild Things Are Again Analysis
Since the dawn of time, humans have learned to communicate through certain
writings or stories. Many individuals have benefitted from the gift of reading that
we take so much for granted these days. The hunger for knowledge is a basic
human instinct that has took place and influenced many people s lives, including
mine. But I ask myself these questions. Is knowledge reading, or is reading
knowledge? Can reading influence your life choices? Well here I am, thinking
back on my childhood clouded by parental disputes and my adventure as a reader
and how it has influenced my life today. My reading experiences as a child up to

experience. My dad introduced me to a series that was important to him and his

wanted to pass on the tradition as I will to my children as well. My all time
favorite book series has remained The Lord of the Rings since my father read it to
me on one of the few nights he had off work. That series really spoke to me as a
child who spent his whole life moving places and experiencing new things. I felt
like Bilbo taking his first step outside of Hobbiton, not knowing anything of what
mysterious new wonders or terrors awaited his company. At the time I was moving
to Colorado from the middle of nowhere in New York. When Bilbo was on his
journey to the Lonely Mountain it really spoke to me personally since I was
starting my journey to a state full of some of the most rigid, marvelous mountains

the thrill of not knowing what was ahead and not turning back. Walking into a

Billy Collins Silence Essay
In Silence , author Billy Collins uses a motif of silence, a dark and serious tone,
and an enjambment in order to reveal that the tension of unspoken words often lead
to the disruption in peace. To begin, throughout the poem, a motif of silence recurs
an overwhelming amount of times: The silence when I hold you to my chest, The
silence of the window above us, And the silence when you rise and turn away. And
there is a silence of this morning Which I have broken with my pen, (12 16) By
repeatedly using this motif, it deepens readers understanding of the tension of
unspoken words. A peaceful tone remains as the narrator lies in bed and the breaking
of silence takes place while tension increases as the character rises and turns away.

As the narrator wakes up in the silence of the morning, a peaceful tone arises yet
again until broken by the build up of unsaid words. The author uses the word
broken specifically to demonstrate the destruction and disruption. In addition to
this, the usage of words the author puts into the poem portrays a dark and serious
tone. And there is a silence of this morning / Which I have broken with my pen, / A
silence that had piled up all night (14 16). In order to reveal the tension of the
overall silence, a serious and dark tone become a necessity. Readers experience the
negative effects of silence on life. By using words like broken and piled it seems as
if the unspoken words cause more destruction than wanted. Also, the lack of humor
throughout the poem portrays that the scenarios described provoke readers to think,
making the examples given come off more dark than anything. The peace at times
becomes disrupted because of the involvement of such a dark and serious tone in
order to emphasize clearly that the tension of these words built up over time, and left
a more troublesome situation. The author also uses structural elements such as an
enjambment. The silence of the falling vase / Before it strikes the floor; (13 14). By
Uncontrolled Immigration
Every country seeks to further itself in many ways. In general, expanding is the best
way to go. This does not always include expanding the borders, but also the
population and the production. Just like any country, the United States has certain
things in place to help aid expansion of our great country. Immigrationcan be a huge
help to boosting population and for recruiting more proud and productive citizens.
However, laws must be set in place to regulate the inflow of immigrants, as crime and
various other issues usually follow suit to uncontrolled immigration. The United
Statesis not known to be an easy country to become a citizen in, and the wait can
often last years and years (the wait for citizenship approval, the whole process.)...

Kurt Lewin s Change Management Theory
Change management theory:
In order for the initiative of bedside handover with the use of ISBAR framework to be
implemented and work efficiently, a change management theory can be applied. One
change management theory that is commonly used amongst nurses in different
specialty areas is Kurt Lewin s change management theory. This theory is of
particular relevance to my initiative as in the last stage of the theory involves
sustainability which is of great importance when it comes to delivery quality care.
Lewin s change management theory involves three steps; unfreeze, change and
refreeze. From Lewin s perspective, the process of change begins with creating the
perception that change is needed, then moves onto the actual desirable level of
change and lastly, solidifying the new behaviour as the new normal (Burnes, 2004).
In Lewin s first stage, unfreezing is about encouraging people to think about the
current situation and helping them realise the need for change (Kassean Jagoo,
2005). The first move is therefore is to raise awareness for the need for change by
communicating the proposed change to all those who are going to be affected by the
initiative, such as the patients, charge nurse and nurses. Making research articles
about the benefits of bedside handover available for people to read is another way to
raise awareness. Lastly, displaying posters of the new initiative around the ward can
be done as another tool to help implement the change. For the change

We are destroying the earth in order to survive. What is our Moral Responsibility?
Daniel Quinn has written a book about how things have come to be the way they
are. He looks at the meaning of the world and the fate of humans. Ishmael the main
character is a teacher of vast wisdom, as well as being a Gorilla. Being no ordinary
Gorilla, Ishmael recognises the failing of human kind in relation to their moral
responsibilities. He ultimately directs use towards a solution to the problems we
have created for the planet. Ishmael is trying to convey that man kind is living in
such a way that we can not last. Our vast numbers alone is hindering our survival.

The UK Parliament has made considerable movement towards helping schools in
Britain to become kinder to the planet. The Scottish government has introduced an
eco schools programme into the British school system. These eco schools and the
government hold close links with Education for sustainable development (ESD).
We have to learn our way out of current social and environmental problems and learn
to live sustainably. (ESD)
The eco schools programme offers environmental education that benefits the pupils by
developing the skills in them that will help them live a morally responsible life.
I believe anyone who reads this book will be made to stop and think about their
contribution to the suffering of the world. It is extremely thought provoking book; it
makes you question how society functions and the life you live. This is a dominant
theme in all RE classrooms. It is imperative that pupils think of the world they live in
and how they can help make it a better place. One thing Ishmael points out is humans
existed for millions of years without the modern view of civilisation. It was not until
the modern world was introduced that earth began to suffer . The damage that came
about due to the modern world Ishmael has a solution. His answer to it is to move
on from what he calls a taker society to a leaver society. To move from the view that
the world was made for man to the view that man
Equal Employment Opportunity And Hrm
Introduction As a means to better understand equal employment opportunity and
HRM, one can examine the reasonable accommodations employers must make in
regards to religion and disability. In regards to such, some of the accommodations can
be described, the agency responsible for such enforcement can be examined, and two
specific private sector workplace examples of religious and disability accommodation
can be noted. Through the examination of these concepts one can gain a better
understanding of equal employment opportunity and HRM. Accommodation
Expectations When taking into consideration the employment of those with
disabilities or that are religious, one ought to understand that there are several
provisions established by the federal government that stipulates the accommodations
necessary to meet their specific needs. In regards to those with disabilities there are
several accommodations that employers must meet to remain within compliance of
the law. According to the EEOC, These include: making existing facilities accessible;
job restructuring; part time or modified work schedules; acquiring or modifying
equipment; changing tests, training materials, or policies; providing qualified readers
or interpreters; and reassignment to a vacant position (para. 2). Through
incorporating these concepts into company policy, an organization will fail to fall out
of compliance. In terms of religious accommodation, an employer is obliged to take
into consideration the accommodation
Descriptive Essay About My Neighborhood
In between the busy streets of 35th avenue and 43rd lies my silent and kind
neighborhood. Where everyone is nice to each other and not lousy or mean. About
two months ago, my mother bought our first home. My house looks like a duplex
because there are two entrances, one on the left and right and it also has two drive
ways. Turning into my neighborhood you right away see that it is a dead end
street, and has very few houses one each side of the road. There is not really
anything that grabs one s attention where I live, except a 2017 mustang that is parked
next door, or how many stray catsthere live here.. Other than that a true attention
catcher is our neighbors well kept yard. They have bushes along the driveway
shaped into a beautiful square. And colorful flowers in their neat front yard. Their
grass is also much greener than anyone else s. You can tell they care about their
yard a lot because they have a landscaper come every week. There are also two
schools that are across the street, a charter high school that is to the left of an
elementary school. What I do like about my neighborhood is that the streetsare very
wide, wider than usual which gives everyone an advantage. It was so convenient
that we lived right across the street from an elementary school. I thought to myself I
have younger siblings that could go there! But they really couldn t the school is only

While a domestic cat usually enjoys a can of Tender Vittles or the occasional field
mouse, a lion typically enjoys a fine meal consisting of a zebra or similar wild
animal. Food sources for a wild cat obviously depend on the environment.
Depending on the abundance of prey, the wild cat may have to wait a few days
before eating which is a sharp contrast to most domestic cats who have the luxury of
being presented with a gourmet meal placed in a cute bowl along with a bowl of
milk or water. The environmental differences between a domestic cat and a wild cat
also include health care. Cats are prone to many life threatening diseases such as
rabies, distemper, feline leukemia, parasites, and respiratory illnesses. Many wild cats
simply die due to complications of the many diseases since there is not usually a
friendly veterinarian camping out on the African plains. However, prevention and
medication that is available through the local veterinarians, aid in providing quality
health care for most domestic cats. Additionally, while domestic cats can be found in
abundance in local shelters, lions unfortunately face problems from human threats
such as agriculture expansion which decreases their natural habitat, poaching, and

same light. The male characters are often described as the hero with strong masculine
traits while the female characters are portrayed as the damsel in distress. Throughout

A Critical Incident At The Dunmore Senior Center
Context of the incident
This report will outline a critical incident which occurred in 2014 at the Dunmore
Senior Center. The incident narrated by the executive director of the center Jeanne
Hugenbruch. The incident was initiated by the secretary and one of the senior
members, when two of the seniors started arguing angrily and loudly with each other.
At that day, fortuitously the executive director was not at the center which made the
secretary the person who was in charge to handle the issue.
Details of the incident
Before lunch time, all seniors at the Dunmore Senior Center were having free time
to do whatever they wanted. There were a group of elders who preferred to play
cards at that time. On this specific day, the executive director of the center was not
available, and the authority was given to the secretary. While she was sitting in her
office, she heard loud noises coming from the main hall. She went out of her office to
check what happened when she found two of the seniors arguing with each other. The
activities administrator was with them, and she almost contained the situation.
The secretary tried to help by calming down both of the women and to try to
understand what they were disputing about. They were arguing about who won the
hand during the card game. After listening to both sides of the story, the secretary
played the role of judge and sided with one of the women. This made the other

Criticizing Effects of Mung Bean Starch on Rice Noodles Quality
In Effect of mung bean starch on quality of rice noodles made by direct dry flour

of the influences of mung bean starch (MS) on the physiochemical properties of rice
flour (RF) and quality of rice noodles produced by the direct dry flour extrusion; as
well as test possible corporation of rice flour (RF) and MS fractions into rice
noodles to improve its quality. First of all, Wu et al. analyzed the substituted rice

substitutions, 0%, 2%, 5% and 8% for experimentations. With increase MS content in
the mixture, the results showed increase in amylose content, rate of retrogradation,
pasting stability, and strength of the gel, but decline in swelling power and solubility.
The authors pointed out corporation of MS and RF significantly influenced the
physicochemical properties of rice noodle mixture, which desirable for rice noodle
making. This phenomenon results rice noodles were positively affected by these
changes as well, including decreased cooking time, loss rate and broken rate. Also,
based on the texture properties and sensory evaluation, elevating MS content
contributed to better texture and overall acceptance of rice noodles, but authors also
point out, after 5% MS substitution, the rate of quality improvements were decreased.

The Renaissance and Italy s Decline
The Renaissance and Italy s Decline
Definition: The period in European civilization immediately following the Middle
Ages, conventionally held to have been characterized by a surge of interest in
classical learning and values. Set in the city states of Italy in the fourteenth, fifteenth
and sixteenth centuries, the constant uncertainty, both economic and political, and
extreme volatility of the historical situation provided the material for new intellectual,
cultural, and social experiments that would at their conclusion provide the means of
constructing a new European mono cultural identity, one focused on humanistic
studies, science, and the arts. This historical background is surprisingly volatile;

In Italy the Renaissance proper was preceded by an important proto renaissance in
the late 13th and early 14th centuries, which drew inspiration from Franciscan
radicalism. St. Francis had rejected the formal Scholasticism of the prevailing
Christian theology and gone out among the poor praising the beauties and spiritual
value of nature. His example inspired Italian artists and poets to take pleasure in
the world around them. The work of the most famous artist of the proto renaissance
period, Giotto (1266/67 or 1276 1337), reveals a new pictorial style that depends on
clear, simple structure and great psychological penetration rather than on the flat,
linear decorativeness and hierarchical compositions of his predecessors and
contemporaries. The great poet Dante lived at about the same time as Giotto, and his
poetry shows a similar concern with inward experience and the subtle shades and
variations of human nature. Although his Divine Comedy belongs to the Middle
Ages in its plan and ideas, its subjective spirit and power of expression look forward
to the Renaissance. Petrarch and Boccaccio also belong to this proto renaissance
period, both through their extensive studies of Latin literature and

sort was floating above the spacecraft, leading to the assumption that an oxygen tank

Kranz s first correct move was assuring the crew that everything would turn out
alright and to keep their cool. If anyone started completely panicking, it would not
help the mission be successful. After comforting everyone, he immediately moved to
the second task: how to get the astronauts home safely. He also avoided error and
speculation through self discipline and thoroughness.
At this point, there was enough oxygen in the second system to get the astronauts

Essay about Those Winter Sundays
Those Winter Sundays Robert Hayden s, Those Winter Sundays , is a poem of a
son s regret over his inability to honor and appreciate his father during the course
of his upbringing. It uses one event to describe a father and son s entire
relationship. Actually, Those Winter Sundays is a poem written for Robert
Hayden s father. Although at first the poem does not seem to be a great tribute to
his father, Hayden s admiration and love for his father breaks through the lines. In
the poem, Hayden uses many descriptive words to set the scene for his work. His
vivid words help me to imagine how hard his father worked and sacrificed for his
family. When Hayden writes cracked hands that ached , he is using the cracked
hands as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of chronic angers is introduced into the calm scene of the home in the
early morning. It seems as though the father was a harsh man who scared his
children but deep down he loved them very much. The chronic angers was what
made the children not realize his love. It was clear in Hayden s writing that anger
was a constant in the home; just as much a part of the mornings as the fire itself.
With the presence of anger in the home, Hayden implies that he had a poor
relationship with his father, although it may have been self protective, but
ungrateful. At the end of the poem, Hayden describes what he discovered looking
back on those mornings, What did I know, what did I know of love s austere and
lonely offices . The repetition of What did I know adds emphasis to this thought,
like Hayden is full of regret, wishing he had known, and had thanked his father for
what he had accomplished for his family. The words austere and lonely also carry
a lot of meaning that can be interpreted as a lack of caring, as well as the father s
harsh treatment of his children. As he grew up, Hayden realized that his father was
totally self sacrificing. His father took no thought for his own comfort. As a child
Hayden doubted his father s love, but as he grew older he realized that love is often
expressed silently and indirectly by actions and not words. In the end, Hayden finally
Reflection Paper On I Am Invincible
I like to assume I am invincible, that nothing terrible will ever happen to me. It
wasn t until my life started to fall to pieces that I realized I had to try just as hard
as everyone else in this world. Having too much pride, or what some refer to as
tragic flaw, will almost definitely lead to one s downfall. Personally, my problem
was that my understanding of the law was simplistic. All the rules that responsible
citizens follow day in and day out somehow didn t apply to me. I could pick fights,
I could stay out past curfew, I could vandalize others property, and it would never
come back to hurt me. In fact, I was not only hurting myself but all those around me.
My father, my girlfriend, and everyone who was only trying to help me had suffered
through me being the manipulative addict I was.
A sincere saying is that, People who use others as stepping stones , eventually lose
their balance . I have not only stepped, however stomped on a multitude of people
in my life. For instance, I have stolen from my own family s wallets in order to get
my fix. In this past year I have had to reteach myself how to live. I needed
consequences to change. It wasn t until I started to realize I wasn t invincible that I
started to realize the way I was approaching every situation in my life was no longer
going to work. After I spent time in jail, and having time to ponder the decisions I
had made to put me there; I realized my life, as I was living it, was not doing
anything for me. It was getting me nowhere in life, costing absurd amounts of money,
destroying relationships, and making me unhappy. The only thingI have been looking
for my whole life is happiness, chasing it with substances for a temporary fix. In
reality, I was making myself more miserable. Beverly Daniel Tatumstates in her
article, The Complexity of Identity: Who Am I, :
Triggered by the biological changes associated with puberty, the maturation of
cognitive abilities, and changing societal expectations, this process of simultaneous
reflection and observation, the self creation of one s identity, is commonly
experienced in the United States and other Western societies during the period of
adolescence. (par. 6)

Essay On Francisco Goya
Francisco Goya is one of the most remarkable artists of the eighteenth century.
Born in the village of Fuendetodos in Spain, Goya grew up to become an
inspirational painter after pursuing his studies in art. Goya began working for the
Spanish royal court and created several works that were a criticism to the political
and social problems of the contemporary era. He won several commissions from the
royal court after establishing his esteem as a portrait artist. During the period of
enlightenment, the artistic works of Goya were prominent throughout Spain. Goya
introduced royal workshops, which spanned over four monarchies. He painted
several cartoons and haunting scenes for the royal palaces. Goya s tapestries glorify
the leisure activities of the young, rich and poor. His etchings are a resemblance of
the royal elite class. Most of Goya s paintings capture the sensitivity of artistic
techniques through brushstrokes. Some of Goya s artistic works introduce to the
audience, a world of ghosts, witches and other creatures, which invade the mind and
include nightmarish visions.

The painting was a true indication of the actions, which took place when one of the
fiercest fights at Hotel de Ville. Although the painting is not a depiction of the
Partisan revolution, it was visually striking by capturing the excitement of the
event. The painting was a potent symbol of the struggle for liberty. Painted in the
backdrop of cannon smoke, the personification of the painting is a combination of
both real and ideal. In Liberty Leading the People, the woman wears a red cap on
her head, which symbolizes freedom. The red cap was a symbol of the first French
revolution, which was an emblem of freed slaves. The bare breasted woman holds a
tricolor in one hand and a musket in the other, and appears as half goddess and half
The Conception Of Signs
Stuart Hall classified two interpretations on the conception of signs: one is iconic
sign and the other is indexical sign. The iconic signs symbolises the visual sign
while the indexical sign is written or spoken signs (1997: 20). Ferdinand De
Saussure, on the other hand, determined a sign as including a signifier and a
signified. Both of them function together and cannot be detached. The former is the
form of a sign, such as a word, photo, image, or an object. The latter is the conception
that the signifier tries to let the interpreters decode (Hall 1997: 31). Saussure further
argued that signs have no fixed meanings and such meanings can change. Cultural
codes are not universally fixed meanings and words can change meanings both within
Letter To Baz Luhrmann Essay
Letter to Baz Luhrmann James Tripovich Green To Mr Baz Luhrmann, I, James
Tripovich Green, have decided that I should contact you on the subject I m sure
you have had many letters about in the past. Romeo + Juliet. I feel there was far
too much hate directed towards your movie, and so I have taken it upon myself to
give you an outline of what you did well in case you were feeling that the movie
was a failure, because it definitely wasn t, even if there were some slight mistakes.
First and foremost, Shakespeare s original Romeo and Juliet was built around
different ideas and principles to your modern reiteration. It was written in 1595
from the Elizabethan perspective of the world, which was quite scrambled, as it
was a time of great change and questioning of the old ways thanks to the
Renaissance. This setting is wildly different to your modern version s setting in a
modern world where guns are the preferred weapon rather than swords and daggers,
despite still being named after them (one of the funniest parts of... Show more content

I recall there being more than one minor mistakes, but the one that stood out for
me was when Romeo shot Tybalt repeatedly with a gun that was shown to have
only one bullet in it. If you can t remember, let me jog your memory. Just before
engaging Mercutio in battle, Tybalt s un named accomplice (The one referred to as
A Capulet ) hands him his gun and Tybalt removes all the bullets from his gun s
clip, intending to have a one bullet only type of duel. Later, when Romeo goes after
Tybalt he takes Tybalt s gun and repeatedly shoots him to death. This was quite
confusing to me and some other viewers at the time. However, nitpicking implies
that the viewer went to great lengths to spot this, as indeed was the case. An
ordinary consumer would not have picked up on this kind of mistake. By the way,
this paragraph was by no means an attempt to insult your work, and I sincerely hope
it did not come across that
Major Factors Affecting The Automotive Industry Essay
INTRODUCTION
There are four major factors affecting the automotive industry: technology, market,
customers and the most influential factor environment. Environment is a source of
materials, infrastructure necessary for manufacturing but everything is limited. The
process of car or automotive manufacturing is very complex regarding the usage of
numerous resources and different technologies ( P. Golinska M. Kosacka).
GLOBAL COMPETITION IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
Global competition brought about less market share for U.S. automobile
manufacturers and threatened company profits as more foreign car brands entered
the U.S. market. The total market share of General Motors fell from 28.2% in
2000 to 17.6% by 2014. The other two of the Big Three car manufacturers also lost
U.S. market share during this same period. Ford fell from 24.1% to 14.7%. Fiat
owned Chrysler now holds only 12.7% after having 15.7% of the market in 2000.
High labor costs, product lines that emphasized large vehicles with significant
gasoline use and a looming global recession caused a crash in U.S. automaker
profitability in 2008. American car manufacturers were struggling to compete against
better, more efficiently manufactured products from overseas companies. As of 2015,
Toyota earns more than GM, Ford and Chevrolet combined.
Lower per car costs have allowed foreign manufacturers to gain larger portions of the
U.S. market. Decades of market control by U.S. manufacturers caused the major
automakers

Paradise Lost Symbolism
John Milton s Paradise Lost depicts the heroic features of Satan in his attempt to
destroy God s creations. Satan is portrayed as a better god than God himself despite
his hellish actions. Satan uses his compelling charm to better the inducement of his
evil machinations. The ultimate denouement of Paradise Lostwas the presentation of
the devil as the real hero, which is not the conclusion that Milton intended. Satan s
only priority was to mess with God and his supposed new world. A war was started
between God and Satan when Satan tried to overthrow Heaven, and Satan was
appalled that he lost against God. He says, How such united forces of gods, how
such / As stood like these, could ever know repulse? (Milton, 1.629 30). From the
beginning of Paradise Lost, the devil states that the new goal is to be evil. He says,
To do ought good never will be our task, / But ever to do ill our sole delight (1.159
60). He approaches the fallen angels in Hell, and tells them to rise or they will
remain fallen. Satan was open to hearing the ideas of the other fallen angels in
order to screw up God s plan of goodness. Therefore, they have council meetings in
Pandemonium to discuss how the most effective way to fight against God to get
out of Hell. All of the fallen angels were inputting their ideas, and it resembled a
democracy. Satan was conducting a type of democracy, which would be the best
method when going up against such a powerful being. Teamwork and
trustworthiness was necessary to succeed in overthrowing God for the last time.
The odds were not in their favor considering God is all knowing, so they needed to
work together if they wanted to succeed. He actually cared about what the other
fallen angels believed, as opposed to God, who ran a dictatorship like government.
God gave commands to his angels and mankind, rather than having group
discussions to make the best decisions for everyone. Satan s good leadership skills
and democracy representation were expressed vividly throughout all of the Books,
but mainly in Book 1. Satan is very motivated and driven towards this vision of
freedom for himself and his fallen angels in Hell that he is willing to escape the gates
of Hell and risk his own life for it. In Book
Narcissistic, Antisocial, And Dependent Personality
Disorders
Discuss narcissistic, antisocial, and dependent personality disorders.
Someone with narcissistic personality disorder would show an exaggerated sense of
self importance, a preoccupation with being admired, and a lack of empathy for the
feelings of others (Hooley, p.349). Many studies support the fact that narcissism has
two sub types: grandiose and vulnerable narcissism (cain et al.,2008; Ronningstam,
2005, 2012). The grandiose sub type is manifested by traits related to grandiosity,
aggression, and dominance. They usually overestimate their abilities and
accomplishments and underestimate the abilities and accomplishments of others.

Anti social personality disorder (ASPD) is described as someone who lacks moral or
ethical development is unable to follow correct methods of behavior, finds ways to
be deceitful, has no qualms in shamelessly manipulating others and tended to have
had behavioral problems as a child. According to the DSM 5 only individuals over
18 can be diagnosed with ASPD and the symptoms must have been shown prior to
15. ASPD can be confused with psychopathy and although they have some overlap
they are different. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable behaviors such as
lying, getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley, p.356).
With psychopathy, more emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as
superficial charm, lack of empathy, and manipulativeness. It seems that no matter
how you look at it ASPD is affected by genes and the environment. The effects and
interactions of ASPD that was once seen as simply unidirectional family to child is
now being understood that the effects can be bi directional going both ways.
Individuals with dependent personality disorder (DPD) shows an extreme need to
be taken care of, which leads to clinging and submissive behavior (Hooley, p.365).
They are scared to be alone and usually build their lives around other people and
subordinate themselves to them. They tend to be
Steller Super Flare Reminder Research Paper
Steller Super Flare Reminder: Our Sun Is Special
It is no secret that the earth s sun is special to say the least. Some would say it was
designed to be unique to help sustain life on planet earth. However, other nearby
stars were not designed to sustain life. One example would be the star Proxima
Centauri. This star recently had a short increase in radiation, known as a flare. This
flare caused the star to become a thousand times brighter for ten seconds. Earth s sun
also has flares, but they are much smaller. When Proxima Centauri is at its brightest
point it is still ten times brighter than our suns largest flare. This is just one example
of how special our sun really is.
The star Proxima Centauri is interesting because besides form the sun it is the
closest star to earth, measuring to be about 4.3 light years away. It also has an
exoplanet named Proxima b that obits around it. Scientist studied how the flares
emitted by the star would affect the orbiting exoplanet. It s assumed that Proxima b
would have been blasted with radiation during the flares over billions of years since
the exoplanet was formed. Flares like this could have evaporated any oceans or
atmospheres, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this has not happened and it s starting to make secular scientist
themselves admit that our sun is special and unique in design, because it does not
emit these monster super flares like the ones produced by Proxima Centauri. The
question is, could our sun send out such a flare powerful enough to even melt the
ice on Jupiter s moon s, destroy earth s ozone layer and even obliterate all our
satellites? Well the answer is yes. Scientist have studied other sun like stars in our
galaxy and discovered that they produce these super flares about once a century. But,
they have no explanations as to why our sun does not produce such solar
Atomic Bombing Persuasive Essay
On August 6, 1945 an American B 29 bomber successfully deployed and activated
the first ever weaponized atom bomb over its target, Hiroshima. Upon detonation the
bomb instantly killed around 70,000 Japanese also destroying ninety percent of the
city. Three days later a second American B 29 bomber dropped another atom bomb
over the city of Nagasaki killing an estimated 40,000 more people. The Japanese
Emperor announced Japan s unconditional surrender on August 15, 1945. The atomic
bombing of Hiroshimaand Nagasaki was tragic, however, it was necessary to dissuade
Japan from continuing war efforts and to accept unconditional surrender offered by
the United States.
By the time the U.S. had come to the conclusion to act on the decision of dropping
the hydrogen bomb it had been at war in the Pacific theatre since 1942. Whereas the
successful operation in the African and European theatre took less than two years
with Germany s surrender on May 7, 1945, the Japanese continued to ferociously
fight. The United States tired of war, did not want to continue the bloody battle. The
war in the pacific was horrific compared to Europe. The Pacific was characterized by
its cruel and desperate battles with some often leading to hand to hand combat. This

was the Bushido Code meaning the way of the warrior which was a set of rules or
guidelines that strengthened the Japanese resolve to fight to the death. To invade
Japan would be a grueling, and take a too much time. The U.S. needed a quick

How Keats Is Obsessed With Beauty
One Must Imagine Keats Happy Keats is obsessed with beauty in his poetry. Keats
always creates a a beautiful object out of some mundane and poor existence. Most
notably, in Isabella, or Pot of Basil , Isabella buries the head of her lost lover,
Lorenzo, inside a pot of basil. Keats approaches beauty in a way fundamentally
different from Lake Poets such as Wordsworth and Coleridge. For Wordsworth, his
poems will be found to carry with them a purpose (Norton, 295). Therefore, in
Wordsworth s pomes beauty is secondary, and he exhibits beauty only in order to
show the purpose of his poem. For instance, in Lines Written in Early Spring , the
beauty of Nature described in the first five stanzas only elevates the speaker to a
high enough position and hence prepares readers for the revelation of the final
stanza What man has made of man (Norton, 280). For Keats, it seems that his
poems do not have a purpose; if there is one, the purpose can only be Beauty, as
Keats discloses in a letter to his brothers, the sense of Beauty overcomes every
other consideration, or rather obliterates all consideration (Keats, 232). However,
curiously Keats likes to break the beautiful object he creates in his poems. For
instance, Isabella s brothers steal her pot of basil; Apollonius exorcises Lamia. In
Eve of St. Agnes , although the protagonists Madeline and Porphyro escape from the
fate of death, the poem still ends with the morbid deaths of Angela and the
Beadsman. If Keats goal is to
Examples Of Empathy And Commercialism
Empathy and Commercialism The ability to understand and share the feelings of
another is the definition of empathy. Empathy is also something that is ingrained in
the very nature of human beings. Those that produce our media know this and take
advantage of it to influence consumers to buy their products, donate money, or
follow an agenda. The New Zealand government is promoting safer driving, using
commercials that affect viewer s emotions. The American Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is using similar methods in order to get more
donations to help their cause. The New Zealand car safety commercial starts by
zooming in on a country intersection where two vehicles are headed towards each
other. There is a clear difference... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas the last commercial used a sense of unease to set viewers on edge, the
ASPCA commercial focuses solely on making the viewers feel pity for the animals
shown. By showing pictures of sad looking animals that are clearly injured by their
cruel owners the viewers get a sense of exactly how badly injured abused animals
are. Opening the viewers eyes to the reality of animal abuse was their goal of the
first half of the commercial. This sets up Sarah McLachlan to ask for the viewers
help save the animals. The pity and sorrow that the viewers felt was lifted up by
the ability to give these animals hope and a second chance. The viewers
immediately want to be the ones to give that chance. When describing the cost
Sarah tells viewers that it costs only sixteen cents a day, by splitting the cost into
this small amount the viewers will feel more obligated to donate. This commercials
goal was to have the viewers feel sympathy towards abused animals as well as have
them donate in order to
Enso Cycle
It is important to understand the various cycles our atmosphere goes through due
to how they affect our daily lives. The ENSO Cycle has a large impact globally and
locally in California as we have seen with the long term drought Southern
California is currently in. The ENSO cycle can be defined by sea surface
temperature (SST) anomaly in the Pacific Equatorial Area known as Nino 3.4
region (5oN 5oS, 120o 170oW). Unusually cooler waters ( .5 degrees centigrade)
occurring for three consecutive months outlines a La NiГ±a. La NiГ±a s bring
wetter weather to Australia and Indonesia but often leaves the Eastern Pacific dry.
Unlike La NiГ±a s, unusually warm water (+.5 degrees centigrade above average)
occurring for 3 consecutive month s outlines an

  • 1. Women Education Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of women's education poses a unique set of challenges. The complexity arises not only from the vastness of the topic but also from the need to navigate through a myriad of perspectives, historical contexts, and societal nuances. To delve into the intricacies of women's education, one must tread carefully, balancing a nuanced understanding of gender issues with a comprehensive exploration of educational policies and cultural influences. The difficulty intensifies as the essay requires a careful examination of the historical backdrop, analyzing the evolution of women's access to education and the societal shifts that have influenced these changes. This involves delving into the struggles faced by women in different periods, acknowledging milestones achieved, and critiquing the persisting disparities. The task is not merely to narrate the story but to illuminate the underlying forces that have shaped women's educational opportunities. Furthermore, discussing contemporary challenges in women's education involves navigating through the complexities of gender bias, societal expectations, and systemic barriers. Addressing these issues requires a nuanced understanding of intersectionality, recognizing that the experiences of women in education can vary significantly based on factors such as race, socioeconomic status, and geographical location. On a broader scale, the essay must consider global perspectives, exploring how different cultures and regions approach women's education. This adds a layer of complexity, demanding a comparative analysis that goes beyond surface-level observations to identify underlying cultural norms and values. Crafting a well-rounded essay on women's education also necessitates a forward-looking approach. It requires proposing feasible solutions to address existing challenges and advocating for policies that can foster gender equality in education. This demands a careful balance between optimism and pragmatism, acknowledging the progress made while highlighting the work that remains to be done. In conclusion, writing an essay on women's education requires not only thorough research and analysis but also a sensitivity to the multifaceted nature of the topic. It demands a delicate balance between historical context, contemporary challenges, and future aspirations. While the endeavor may be challenging, it is undoubtedly crucial for fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding women's education and promoting meaningful discussions on the path forward. • 2. Computational Scale Out Workloads Applications Abstract Scale out workloads are applications that are typically executed in a cloud environment and exhibit high level of request level parallelism. Such workloads benefit from processor organizations with very high core count since multiple requests can be serviced simultaneously by threads running on these cores. The characteristics of these workloads indicate that they have high instruction footprints exceeding the capacities of private caches, operate on large datasets with limited reuse and have minimal coherence activity due to lesser data sharing. The characteristics also indicate that the active instruction window can be captured by a Last Level Cache (LLC) size of 8MB. New processor organizations have been discussed in literature that tailors the interconnection among cores to match the communication pattern arising out of the characteristics of scale out workloads. The focus of the current work is to take the approach of separating a core and LLC bank from a single tile as specified in literature and design a different interconnection topology for cores and LLC banks to reduce the latency of accessing the LLC to improve performance. In the current work, four cores and a LLC bank are designed to connect to a routerforming a star topology and the routers ( 4) are designed to form a 2D flattened butterfly topology. The current design has been targeted at 8 cores and has been implemented using the Bluespec System Verilog HDL (Hardware Description Language) and the

  • 4. Compare And Contrast The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The Flood When examining the story of the Biblical flood, it is essential to point out that there are other flood stories in Ancient Near Eastern cultures. In fact, there are up to sixty eight different cultures with stories of a great flood! It is important for one to see how each flood story affects and influences one another. For example, it is evident that the Babylonian culture influenced the writer of the Biblical flood story, which was made hundreds of years after the making of the Babylonian story. One of the greatest examples of this is in The Epic of Gilgamesh, a Babylonian story that includes the tale of Utnapishtim, a man some would like to say is similar to the character Noah in a few ways. Both men are called upon by a being of higher... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in the article Background Info on the Flood Stories , each story has unique elements, and the differences from the Biblical story are often more striking than the similarities . For example, in the Atrahasis Epic, one of the gods in the story punishes humanity because of the amount of noise made and in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the god Enlil destroys the city where Utnapishtim is living in(presumably furious with mankind). In the Genesis Flood Story, the Yahwist version depicts YHWH as regretting His creation, while the Priestly version depicts God as tired of human corruption. In all three stories, the gods send the flood for similar reasons; they are angry with humanity. However, this is where the similarities end. In Genesis, God floods the world in the pursuit of justice/regret, while the god in Atrahasis is angry for a less significant offense. Though flooding the world is an unjustified action, it is interesting that a god would be irritated enough at noise to want to eradicate humanity. These stories are all more intriguing when compared because it helps us to better understand the motivations of each being that causes the flood event.Again, in the article Background Info on the Flood Stories , the author talks about how each of these stories have a different religious interpretation than the Biblical flood story. This is especially since the people involved(Noah,

  • 6. The Rape of Lucretia The time is the sixth century, the place is Rome and the person is Lucretia, a woman who contributed to one of the biggest parts of Roman history: the creation of the Roman republic. The rape of the virtuous Lucretia by Sextus Tarquinius, the son of Tarquinius Superbus (an Etruscan king) was the final straw for the Roman people and pushed them to want to change from a monarchy to a republic. From the accounts of the rape of Lucretiafrom ancient historians like Livy, Cicero and Dionysius, it is clear that Lucretias rape not only spurred the roman people to want to get rid of the Etruscan King and his family, but also revealed the important role of virtue in women in roman society. The rape occurred a couple of days after Collatinus contest when Sextus went to Collatinus house, knowing he was not there, and was welcomed as a guest by Lucretia. Later on, when it was nighttime and everyone was asleep, Sextus snuck into Lucretias room and tried to seduce her before he raped her. This was recorded by Livy who writes Sextus urged his love, begged her to submit...used every weapon that might conquer a woman s heart (101) as well as by Dionysius who writes that Sextus told Lucretia if you will consent to gratify me, I will make you my wife, and with me you shall reign (65) After Lucretia rejects all his attempts to seduce her because she would rather die than be raped and lose her virtue, Sextus turns to manipulation and threatens her virtue by saying that after he kills her he will lay her body next to that of a dead slaves and tell people that he had caught her having impure relations with the slave. This would ruin her virtuous image and good reputation long after her death so Lucretia, who is more threatened by disgrace than by death, unwillingly submits herself to him. Through these accounts one can see that it is not clear whether Sextus was in love or merely in lust with Lucretia for he starts declaring his love for her, then tries to seduce her by telling her everything she

This is a statement that many scholars and young educated persons believe to be true on the basis of assumption. Thomas Conlan challenges this preconceived notion of loyalty and honor in his book State of War by piecing together a much more difficult and situationally based definition of loyalty which differed depending on the samurai and by observing how times of war and hardship truly challenged an individual s sense of honor. Loyalty is a difficult term to define when considering a couple of key factors. First of all, samurai had more than one aspect in which to be loyal. Motoharu started fighting with loyalty to Ashikaga Takauji, rebelled against Takauji in 1350, only to end up fighting for him again in 1360. Loyalty to oneself directly deals with doing what one believes is morally correct versus what one is forced to do when backed into a corner. The decisions between right and wrong aren t blurred but harder to abide by when in times of war and suffering. Samurai had to make less than honorable choices such as stealing from temples, travelers, and merchants during rough times. Integrity of the samurai were also challenged in times of war. Rewards could be granted for losses, such as losing a horse or a disciple (armor weapons) or getting injured. A samurai could gain status among his peers by killing a noble warrior and presenting this noble warrior s head in proof of killing them. Both reward, such as land, money, or compensation, and status were important to samurai, more so to some than others, and thus challenged their honor and integrity. Many samurai abandoned their moral to attempt to cheat the system in order to gain. Embellishing a

Essay Fathers Attitude of Love Towards Sinners The Parable of the Prodigal Son reveals both Gods love for those who are ready to accept it, which in this case is the prodigal son who returns to his father, and his rejection of the self centered righteousness. Repentance and forgiveness are essential to everyday life. In the book of Luke, the parable of the prodigal son is told. The father in the parable represents God. The prodigal son is symbolic of one who is living in sin, repents, and returns to fellowship with God. The prodigal son decided he had enough under his father and wanted to be on his own. It may seem like freedom at first, but in the end, our rebellion traps and shackles us. This is called sin. Sin at first, is very attractive to the human, but in the end it leads to destruction. God did not approve of rebellious attitudes nor of evil deeds, but he welcomes the sinners back and restores them to favor when they are remorseful. The prodigal son finally came to his senses. He was no longer grasping for his fathers riches, and was happy to turn from disobedience and be an obedient servant of his father. He was ashamed and planned to return to his father, confess his sin, and ask to be hired as a servant. To acknowledge ones sin and turn from it is known as repentance. This kind of repentance leads to forgiveness. The son became aware of his sin, and wanted to change. The father knew his son would not find true fulfillment in which he was looking for in the lifestyle he was leading. I found it to be ironic that everything the prodigal son wanted in the far off country was right at home. He had abundance, freedom, and rejoicing. The father was waiting for his prodigal son. Instead of punishing the prodigal son for his irrational behavior, the father welcomes his son with open arms. The father does not wait for the son to finish the speech he had prepared. All the father wanted was the confession. The father commands his servants to bring him the best robe, which was a sign of special honor, to put a ring on his finger, which was a sign of restored sonship,

One of her high school teachers, Dr. Carlock, not only taught Temple science knowledge, but also guided Temple to view herself more positively. • 20. Quotes In An Inspector Calls An Inspector Calls is set in the 1912 although it was written during 1945. It is based upon an apparent suicide of a girl called Eva Smith. The reasons for her death are revealed to the audience through a sequence of events that happened before she died. The people who contributed to her death are the members of the capitalist Birling family. The main reason for Inspector s appearance in the play s to reveal the truth not only about the crime but also to make The Birlings feel collective responsibility for actions or inactions that led to Eva s death. Priestley presents The Inspector to the audience as a social activist. His main aim is to teach the Birlings about the insignificance of money and power when it comes being a part of a society. He believes they live in a bubble of capitalism ; oblivious to reality. We are members of one body is a powerful phrase used by the Inspector to knock some sense into The Birlings, teaching them the importance of community. The Inspector uses personal pronouns very often. For instance: We suggests that he is talking on behalf of everyman and not just an individual. It also shows that along with him, everyone else is part of one society. To begin, throughout the poem, a motif of silence recurs an overwhelming amount of times: The silence when I hold you to my chest, The silence of the window above us, And the silence when you rise and turn away. And there is a silence of this morning Which I have broken with my pen, (12 16) By repeatedly using this motif, it deepens readers understanding of the tension of unspoken words. And there is a silence of this morning / Which I have broken with my pen, / A silence that had piled up all night (14 16). In order to reveal the tension of the overall silence, a serious and dark tone become a necessity. Readers experience the negative effects of silence on life. Also, the lack of humor throughout the poem portrays that the scenarios described provoke readers to think, making the examples given come off more dark than anything. The peace at times becomes disrupted because of the involvement of such a dark and serious tone in order to emphasize clearly that the tension of these words built up over time, and left a more troublesome situation. Kurt Lewin s Change Management Theory Change management theory: In order for the initiative of bedside handover with the use of ISBAR framework to be implemented and work efficiently, a change management theory can be applied. One change management theory that is commonly used amongst nurses in different specialty areas is Kurt Lewin s change management theory. This theory is of particular relevance to my initiative as in the last stage of the theory involves sustainability which is of great importance when it comes to delivery quality care. Lewin s change management theory involves three steps; unfreeze, change and refreeze. From Lewin s perspective, the process of change begins with creating the perception that change is needed, then moves onto the actual desirable level of change and lastly, solidifying the new behaviour as the new normal (Burnes, 2004). In Lewin s first stage, unfreezing is about encouraging people to think about the current situation and helping them realise the need for change (Kassean Jagoo, 2005). The first move is therefore is to raise awareness for the need for change by communicating the proposed change to all those who are going to be affected by the initiative, such as the patients, charge nurse and nurses. Making research articles about the benefits of bedside handover available for people to read is another way to raise awareness. Lastly, displaying posters of the new initiative around the ward can be done as another tool to help implement the change. For the change

In Italy the Renaissance proper was preceded by an important proto renaissance in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, which drew inspiration from Franciscan radicalism. St. Francis had rejected the formal Scholasticism of the prevailing Christian theology and gone out among the poor praising the beauties and spiritual value of nature. His example inspired Italian artists and poets to take pleasure in the world around them. The work of the most famous artist of the proto renaissance period, Giotto (1266/67 or 1276 1337), reveals a new pictorial style that depends on clear, simple structure and great psychological penetration rather than on the flat, linear decorativeness and hierarchical compositions of his predecessors and contemporaries. The great poet Dante lived at about the same time as Giotto, and his poetry shows a similar concern with inward experience and the subtle shades and variations of human nature. Although his Divine Comedy belongs to the Middle Ages in its plan and ideas, its subjective spirit and power of expression look forward to the Renaissance. Petrarch and Boccaccio also belong to this proto renaissance period, both through their extensive studies of Latin literature and

Leadership on Apollo 13 Essays Eugene Kranz Returns Apollo 13 to Earth Case Study #1 Eugene Kranz Returns Apollo 13 to Earth On April 13, 1970, NASA s Mission Control heard the five words that no control center ever wants to hear: We ve got a problem here. Jack Swigert, an astronaut aboard the Apollo 13 aircraft, reported the problem of broken down oxygen tanks to the Houston Control Center, less than two days after its takeoff on April 11th. Those at the Control Center in Houston were unsure what had happened to the spacecraft, but knew that some sort of explosion had occurred. This so called explosion sent Apollo 13 spinning away from the Earth at 2,000 miles per hour, 75 percent of the way to the moon. In order to get the astronauts back to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As if this was not bad enough, there was more disparaging news: a cloud of some sort was floating above the spacecraft, leading to the assumption that an oxygen tank exploded. Kranz s first correct move was assuring the crew that everything would turn out alright and to keep their cool. If anyone started completely panicking, it would not help the mission be successful. After comforting everyone, he immediately moved to the second task: how to get the astronauts home safely. He also avoided error and speculation through self discipline and thoroughness. At this point, there was enough oxygen in the second system to get the astronauts home safely, but Lovell, one of the astronauts, noticed that the psi (pounds per square inch) level on the pressure gauge for the second system was falling as well. It should normally register at 860, now it was only a 300, only 53 minutes after the initial explosion. At this pace, the spacecraft would expend all of its oxygen and electricity between midnight and 3 AM. This was not giving the Control Center a lot of time. Kranz made a phone call to his previous mentor, Chris Kraft, who was the previous flight director, and current deputy director of the Manned Spacecraft Center. After Kraft arrived at the Control Center, Kranz began shooting orders left and right,

Essay about Those Winter Sundays Those Winter Sundays Robert Hayden s, Those Winter Sundays , is a poem of a son s regret over his inability to honor and appreciate his father during the course of his upbringing. It uses one event to describe a father and son s entire relationship. Actually, Those Winter Sundays is a poem written for Robert Hayden s father. Although at first the poem does not seem to be a great tribute to his father, Hayden s admiration and love for his father breaks through the lines. In the poem, Hayden uses many descriptive words to set the scene for his work. His vivid words help me to imagine how hard his father worked and sacrificed for his family. The idea of chronic angers is introduced into the calm scene of the home in the early morning. It seems as though the father was a harsh man who scared his children but deep down he loved them very much. The chronic angers was what made the children not realize his love. It was clear in Hayden s writing that anger was a constant in the home; just as much a part of the mornings as the fire itself. With the presence of anger in the home, Hayden implies that he had a poor relationship with his father, although it may have been self protective, but ungrateful. At the end of the poem, Hayden describes what he discovered looking back on those mornings, What did I know, what did I know of love s austere and lonely offices . The repetition of What did I know adds emphasis to this thought, like Hayden is full of regret, wishing he had known, and had thanked his father for what he had accomplished for his family. The words austere and lonely also carry a lot of meaning that can be interpreted as a lack of caring, as well as the father s harsh treatment of his children. As he grew up, Hayden realized that his father was totally self sacrificing. His father took no thought for his own comfort. As a child Hayden doubted his father s love, but as he grew older he realized that love is often expressed silently and indirectly by actions and not words. In the end, Hayden finally

It wasn t until my life started to fall to pieces that I realized I had to try just as hard as everyone else in this world. Having too much pride, or what some refer to as tragic flaw, will almost definitely lead to one s downfall. Personally, my problem was that my understanding of the law was simplistic. All the rules that responsible citizens follow day in and day out somehow didn t apply to me. I could pick fights, I could stay out past curfew, I could vandalize others property, and it would never come back to hurt me. In fact, I was not only hurting myself but all those around me. My father, my girlfriend, and everyone who was only trying to help me had suffered through me being the manipulative addict I was. A sincere saying is that, People who use others as stepping stones , eventually lose their balance . I have not only stepped, however stomped on a multitude of people in my life. For instance, I have stolen from my own family s wallets in order to get my fix. In this past year I have had to reteach myself how to live. I needed consequences to change. It wasn t until I started to realize I wasn t invincible that I started to realize the way I was approaching every situation in my life was no longer going to work. After I spent time in jail, and having time to ponder the decisions I had made to put me there; I realized my life, as I was living it, was not doing anything for me. It was getting me nowhere in life, costing absurd amounts of money, destroying relationships, and making me unhappy. The only thingI have been looking for my whole life is happiness, chasing it with substances for a temporary fix. In reality, I was making myself more miserable. Beverly Daniel Tatumstates in her article, The Complexity of Identity: Who Am I, : Triggered by the biological changes associated with puberty, the maturation of cognitive abilities, and changing societal expectations, this process of simultaneous reflection and observation, the self creation of one s identity, is commonly experienced in the United States and other Western societies during the period of adolescence. Born in the village of Fuendetodos in Spain, Goya grew up to become an inspirational painter after pursuing his studies in art. Goya began working for the Spanish royal court and created several works that were a criticism to the political and social problems of the contemporary era. He won several commissions from the royal court after establishing his esteem as a portrait artist. During the period of enlightenment, the artistic works of Goya were prominent throughout Spain. Goya introduced royal workshops, which spanned over four monarchies. He painted several cartoons and haunting scenes for the royal palaces. Goya s tapestries glorify the leisure activities of the young, rich and poor. His etchings are a resemblance of the royal elite class. The iconic signs symbolises the visual sign while the indexical sign is written or spoken signs (1997: 20). Ferdinand De Saussure, on the other hand, determined a sign as including a signifier and a signified. Both of them function together and cannot be detached. The former is the form of a sign, such as a word, photo, image, or an object. The latter is the conception that the signifier tries to let the interpreters decode (Hall 1997: 31). Saussure further argued that signs have no fixed meanings and such meanings can change. Cultural codes are not universally fixed meanings and words can change meanings both within

I feel there was far too much hate directed towards your movie, and so I have taken it upon myself to give you an outline of what you did well in case you were feeling that the movie was a failure, because it definitely wasn t, even if there were some slight mistakes. First and foremost, Shakespeare s original Romeo and Juliet was built around different ideas and principles to your modern reiteration. It was written in 1595 from the Elizabethan perspective of the world, which was quite scrambled, as it was a time of great change and questioning of the old ways thanks to the Renaissance. • 47. Major Factors Affecting The Automotive Industry Essay INTRODUCTION There are four major factors affecting the automotive industry: technology, market, customers and the most influential factor environment. Environment is a source of materials, infrastructure necessary for manufacturing but everything is limited. The process of car or automotive manufacturing is very complex regarding the usage of numerous resources and different technologies ( P. Golinska M. Kosacka). GLOBAL COMPETITION IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY Global competition brought about less market share for U.S. automobile manufacturers and threatened company profits as more foreign car brands entered the U.S. market. The total market share of General Motors fell from 28.2% in 2000 to 17.6% by 2014. The other two of the Big Three car manufacturers also lost U.S. market share during this same period. Ford fell from 24.1% to 14.7%. Fiat owned Chrysler now holds only 12.7% after having 15.7% of the market in 2000. High labor costs, product lines that emphasized large vehicles with significant gasoline use and a looming global recession caused a crash in U.S. automaker profitability in 2008. American car manufacturers were struggling to compete against better, more efficiently manufactured products from overseas companies. As of 2015, Toyota earns more than GM, Ford and Chevrolet combined. Lower per car costs have allowed foreign manufacturers to gain larger portions of the U.S. market. Decades of market control by U.S. manufacturers caused the major automakers

  • 49. Paradise Lost Symbolism John Milton s Paradise Lost depicts the heroic features of Satan in his attempt to destroy God s creations. Satan is portrayed as a better god than God himself despite his hellish actions. Satan uses his compelling charm to better the inducement of his evil machinations. The ultimate denouement of Paradise Lostwas the presentation of the devil as the real hero, which is not the conclusion that Milton intended. Satan s only priority was to mess with God and his supposed new world. A war was started between God and Satan when Satan tried to overthrow Heaven, and Satan was appalled that he lost against God. He says, How such united forces of gods, how such / As stood like these, could ever know repulse? (Milton, 1.629 30). From the beginning of Paradise Lost, the devil states that the new goal is to be evil. He says, To do ought good never will be our task, / But ever to do ill our sole delight (1.159 60). He approaches the fallen angels in Hell, and tells them to rise or they will remain fallen. Satan was open to hearing the ideas of the other fallen angels in order to screw up God s plan of goodness. Therefore, they have council meetings in Pandemonium to discuss how the most effective way to fight against God to get out of Hell. All of the fallen angels were inputting their ideas, and it resembled a democracy. Satan was conducting a type of democracy, which would be the best method when going up against such a powerful being. Teamwork and trustworthiness was necessary to succeed in overthrowing God for the last time. The odds were not in their favor considering God is all knowing, so they needed to work together if they wanted to succeed. He actually cared about what the other fallen angels believed, as opposed to God, who ran a dictatorship like government. God gave commands to his angels and mankind, rather than having group discussions to make the best decisions for everyone. Satan s good leadership skills and democracy representation were expressed vividly throughout all of the Books, but mainly in Book 1. Satan is very motivated and driven towards this vision of freedom for himself and his fallen angels in Hell that he is willing to escape the gates of Hell and risk his own life for it. In Book

Anti social personality disorder (ASPD) is described as someone who lacks moral or ethical development is unable to follow correct methods of behavior, finds ways to be deceitful, has no qualms in shamelessly manipulating others and tended to have had behavioral problems as a child. According to the DSM 5 only individuals over 18 can be diagnosed with ASPD and the symptoms must have been shown prior to 15. ASPD can be confused with psychopathy and although they have some overlap they are different. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable behaviors such as lying, getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley, p.356). With psychopathy, more emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as superficial charm, lack of empathy, and manipulativeness. It seems that no matter how you look at it ASPD is affected by genes and the environment. The effects and interactions of ASPD that was once seen as simply unidirectional family to child is now being understood that the effects can be bi directional going both ways. Individuals with dependent personality disorder (DPD) shows an extreme need to be taken care of, which leads to clinging and submissive behavior (Hooley, p.365). They are scared to be alone and usually build their lives around other people and subordinate themselves to them. They tend to be

Some would say it was designed to be unique to help sustain life on planet earth. However, other nearby stars were not designed to sustain life. One example would be the star Proxima Centauri. This star recently had a short increase in radiation, known as a flare. This flare caused the star to become a thousand times brighter for ten seconds. Earth s sun also has flares, but they are much smaller. When Proxima Centauri is at its brightest point it is still ten times brighter than our suns largest flare. This is just one example of how special our sun really is. The star Proxima Centauri is interesting because besides form the sun it is the closest star to earth, measuring to be about 4.3 light years away. It also has an exoplanet named Proxima b that obits around it. Scientist studied how the flares emitted by the star would affect the orbiting exoplanet. • 53. How Keats Is Obsessed With Beauty One Must Imagine Keats Happy Keats is obsessed with beauty in his poetry. Keats always creates a a beautiful object out of some mundane and poor existence. Most notably, in Isabella, or Pot of Basil , Isabella buries the head of her lost lover, Lorenzo, inside a pot of basil. Keats approaches beauty in a way fundamentally different from Lake Poets such as Wordsworth and Coleridge. For Wordsworth, his poems will be found to carry with them a purpose (Norton, 295). Therefore, in Wordsworth s pomes beauty is secondary, and he exhibits beauty only in order to show the purpose of his poem. For instance, in Lines Written in Early Spring , the beauty of Nature described in the first five stanzas only elevates the speaker to a high enough position and hence prepares readers for the revelation of the final stanza What man has made of man (Norton, 280). For Keats, it seems that his poems do not have a purpose; if there is one, the purpose can only be Beauty, as Keats discloses in a letter to his brothers, the sense of Beauty overcomes every other consideration, or rather obliterates all consideration (Keats, 232). However, curiously Keats likes to break the beautiful object he creates in his poems. For instance, Isabella s brothers steal her pot of basil; Apollonius exorcises Lamia. In Eve of St. Agnes , although the protagonists Madeline and Porphyro escape from the fate of death, the poem still ends with the morbid deaths of Angela and the Beadsman. If Keats goal is to

Opening the viewers eyes to the reality of animal abuse was their goal of the first half of the commercial. This sets up Sarah McLachlan to ask for the viewers help save the animals.
