Analysis Of Catcher In The Rye
Introduction Work is hard. Distractions are plentiful. Time is short. Adam Hochschild. We all have
distractions. Sometimes, they are even good. They are always there. We use them when we are lonely
and in consequence, we escape our lonely world and enter the boisterous one we have escaped to a
pathway full of shortcuts. Who are you after you take those shortcuts? Holden Caulfield of J.D.
Salinger s The Catcher In the Rye is one who unnoticeably takes these shortcuts. When Holden
escapes school after failing most of his classes, the whole world is thrown at him. He wants to get to
his family, even though they are less than a mile away from him. In the end, he is just asking for
forgiveness from the people around him. Holden Caulfield of J.D Salinger s The Catcher In The Rye is
lonely and feels sorry for himself, and consequently, uses other people to distract himself from his
journey which causes Holden to be an anti hero. Assertion Number one J.D. Salinger, the author of
The Catcher In The Rye tries to show us that Holden Caulfield of The Catcher In the Rye is a slacker
and uses his siblings as an easy way out of school work. During this scene in the book, Holden wrote
ambot how he had to write to write a paper about a house for Stradlater , Holden s roommate. At the
time, Stratlader was on a date. Holden is not speaking this line. He is just writing it. So what I did, I
wrote about my brother Allie s baseball mitt. It was a very descriptive subject. It really was. My
brother Allie had this left handed fielder s mitt. He was left handed. (Salinger, pg 38.) Holden says that
he does not have a house to write about, so he resorts to his brother s baseball mitt. I think Holden is
trying to take the easy way out of his work. When he says it was a very descriptive subject, he shows
us that he is able to write on and on about it. He tells us that he does not challenge himself when it
comes to schoolwork. Throughout the quote, the theme working without will is portrayed. The tone of
this quote is calm. I think that this is because Holden s siblings relax him inasmuch as they are one of
the few things that Holden has. Assertion Number Two J.D. Salinger, the author of The

The History Of Communism
Communism is an economic system where the government owns the means of production, and is one
where there is no private ownership because it is under the control of the communities or the state.
Since its proposal in 1848 by German Philosophers, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, in their book,
The Communist Manifesto , there are many who have been influenced by the writings of Marx and
Engels. This has led to many revolutions and establishments of governments with the communist
ideals of peace, solidarity, and labour. The communists of today do not have to live in fear as the
communists during the McCarthy era, where thousands of Americans were monitored and questioned
regarding their loyalty to the United States. During this time, the Red ... Show more content on

Those who oppose them, from everyday people to the media, will point to the statistics. They will
state that communism killed 100 million people in the 20th century, but the counterargument to that is
simply to point out the fact that capitalism kills, and has killed, more people every 5.5 years. One need
only look at the statistics, such as those mentioned in the article: Attempting the Impossible
Calculating Capitalisms Death Toll where the numbers are crunched together, and by looking
throughout the history of capitalism and its influences. Also, one can think of many more deaths
ranging from African slavery, Manifest Destiny, the colonization of Africa, and to the many wars
brought on or backed by capitalist countries. The claim of the opposition is always that capitalist
countries were protecting their interests and allies, but it does not warrant the unrestrained use of
excessive force, especially when non capitalist countries attempt it and are met with massive
condemnations and sanctions by capitalist countries. Opposition will say that communism starves the
people. In the dictatorship of countries claiming to be communists, this is true, but to those who use it
to point to the evils of communism need to see that capitalism is no better, it is even worse. In
capitalist societies, particularly the United States, that boasts of power and prestige, one has to wonder
why millions die in a country that has the means and equipment to feed the hungry, but would rather
spend it on big businesses while an old man struggles to keep his small store from failing, a country
that can provide healthcare coverage to all, but would rather have a family pay out of pocket. They can
do all of this, but they do not. Yet they feel that they are in the right to call communism evil , and say
that it will not work. It will not work for the big

Mary Jackson Case Summary
Subjective: Mary Jackson, 27 years old female, was evaluated at the University of Florida Speech and
Hearing Clinic on October 10, 2017 because of her complaints of hearing difficulties, vertigo, and
tinnitus. She reported the following: often asking people to repeat themselves, dizziness, balance
complications, high pitched tonal ringing in the right ear, and an increased difficulty in understanding
conversational speech, especially in the presence of background noise, since becoming pregnant. Mrs.
Jackson had a family history of hearing loss from her maternal side due to otosclerosis. She reported a
hearing screening had been done approximately 10 years ago while in high school and results
indicated normal hearing. The patient experienced drastic changes in her daily routine: discomfort,
embarrassment, and social isolation. Her listening needs include communication with her newborn
and family members, co workers, and social networking. Objective: Bilateral otoscopy examinations
indicated normal pinnas, external ear canals, and tympanic membranes. A pure tone ... Show more

Pure tone audiometry suggested the presence of otosclerosis in the right ear. SRT (50dB for the right
ear and 30dB for the left ear) corresponds with the pure tone thresholds. WR scores for the right ear
were 96% (85dB) and 100% (70dB) for the left ear, which are consistent with the CHL in the right ear
and WNL in the left ear. Typanometry confirmed that finding by revealing a reduced compliance,
which indicated less mobility of the tympanic membrane due to increased stiffness. These findings
corresponded with the presence of Carhart s notch at 2000Hz from the audiogram. The absence of
OAEs in the right ear also confirmed the conductive component of hearing loss in the right ear due to
otosclerosis. The audiology evaluation affirmed that the patient has a decrease in hearing for natural
and speech sounds in the right

family obligations. Discuss
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
Tracy Chevalier s novel Girl With a Pearl Earring explores the notion of ‘self thorough the main
character Griet and her journey from innocence to experience. Firstly, we see throughout the novel
Griet is aware she has much to learn about the world. Furthermore, under Vermeer s roof, Griet s self
exploration spans many realms; artistically, emotionally, morally and religiously, and she emerges a
more complex and mature character. Moreover, Vermeer assists Griet to expand her mind and

It does not take long before Griet begins to feel she has two families now and they must not mix As
Griet s ties with her family begin to weaken, so too, do her moral convictions. Griet is so blinded by
her infatuation with Vermeer that she becomes his servant not on just a domestic, but an emotional
level as well. She sacrifices her morals on many occasions and does not remain true to herself I did
whatever he asked of me . We see the truth in Van Leeuwenhoek s warning that the women in his
paintings he traps them in his world, as it is only with Vermeer that Griet loses control.
When she was with Pieter she would not let him do all he wanted , but for Vermeer she pierces her
ears, parts her lips, reveals her hair and is in all sense a ruined woman.
Not only does Vermeer become the focus for Griet s emergent sexuality, he also serves to expand her
mind and perspective on life. Teaching her that there is little pure white in clouds , Griet realises that
the world is not always as it seems. Similarly, Griet s religious prejudices instilled in her by her family
and society are quelled by Vermeer who teaches her that Its not the painting that is catholic or
Protestant but the people who look at it, and what they expect to see . Furthermore, Griet s artistic
ability is fostered by Vermeer as he teaches her to grind paints and build up false colours to

Cosmological Argument From Motion
To begin, we start with an a posteriori argument, or an argument from experience. Arguments from
experiences of the world to the existence of God are called cosmological arguments. This particular
argument is the argument from motion. Argument from Motion: P1. Some things are moved. P2. If
something is moved to being F, then it is potentially but not actually F. P3. If something moves a thing
to be F, then it (the mover) is in a state of actuality relevant to F. C1. If something were to move itself
to be F (e.g., be both moved and its own mover), then it would be both potentially but not actually F
and also in a state of actuality relevant to F (conjunction, modus ponens, P1 3). P4. But it is not
possible for something to be both potentially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will leave it to con to find any objections to this argument; however, I will respond to one
preemptive problem that may seemingly arise. The issue comes from a seeming contradiction between
Newton s law of inertial motion, or Newton s first law of motion, and the Aristotelian definition of
motion on which the argument above rests. The problem may be resolved in two ways. Firstly, to
assert that there is a contradiction is to equivocate between two different definitions of the word
motion. Newton s account of motion is only concerned with local motion (motion or change in terms
of place or location), while the Aristotelian is concerned with change of every sort (quality, quantity,
substance, accident, etc.). Secondly, there is no formal contradiction. As the Thomist philosopher
Edward Feser says: Suppose that motion is being used in the two principles in the same sense. Even
given this assumption, there is no formal contradiction between them. Newton s law tells us that a
body will in fact continue its uniform rectilinear motion if it is moving at all, as long as external forces
do not prevent this. It does not tell us why it will do so. In particular, it does not tell us one way or the
other whether there is a mover of some sort which ensures that an object obeys the First Law, and
which is in that sense responsible for its

We all have our opinions on if teens should have tattoos and piercings, some parents do not care but
there is some that do. But if you think about it is how society looks at us, we all care about how people
look at us we see people with tattoos we want that, all we care about attention. I feel like teens want to

living. They think trying to be someone is being cool is trying to be like someone else. I feel like that s
why kids try smoking and trying drugs because they see these celebraities doing them so they want to

What Is Occlusion As A Mechanical Instrument That...
Introduction: Occlusion has been described as the most important subject in all the disciplines of
dentistry, since it represents the way the teeth come together, and functions together. In restorative
cases, where the patient is completely or partially edentulous, an articulator is needed, which is a
mechanical device the holds the opposing casts, in order to be able to study the occlusion as in the
patients mouth. This device; articulator, has different objectives and types, that will be discussed in the
coming pages. Definition: An articulator is a mechanical instrument that represents the
temporomandibular joints and jaws. The attachment between the TMJ and jaws with the maxillary and
mandibular casts simulate some or all of the mandibular movements, which takes place around the
TMJ which is capable of undergoing complex movements. An articulator is considered as any
instrument which has a movable joint on which the maxillary and mandibular casts can be mounted.
These mandibular movements can be rotation around the hinge axis, rotation around the antero
posterior axis, rotation around the vertical axis, and translation. Numerous articulators are available
for the restoration of occlusion. Objectives: Holding the casts in the same relative position that takes
place in the mouth Allow motion similar to that TMJ s motion Duplicate the dental border movements
Diagnose dental occlusal conditions, in both, natural and artificial dentitions.

Bilateral Review System Analysis
Bilateral review systems are ultimately unreliable. Many customers are forced to say positive, but not
necessarily true, traits about themselves or hotels and are usually rated by companies unfairly. For
Uber, customers are rated on their behavior, but there are no real standards suggesting what is meant
by good, bad, or mediocre behavior. It is purely up to the designation of the driver, which can be more
opinionated than factual. Thus, it is not a surprise when a passenger feels perplexed to find out his or
her passenger score has been lowered even if the passenger did everything in his or her power to leave
a lasting impression on the driver.
This then puts an overwhelming amount of pressure people to write a review about themselves, which

(3) The two main types are the logical slope, and the psychological slope, and it is worth taking the
time to distinguish the two. b. Logical slippery slopes exist when there are no clearly defined
boundaries that can be used to draw distinctions between different cases, and thus any line drawn in
the sand between two extremes will have some degree of arbitrariness about it. Suppose that a
particular company allows its employees to accept small gifts from prospective suppliers. How should
small be defined in those circumstances? Clearly a gift that has no monetary value would be
acceptable, and an expensive piece of jewelry would be unacceptable, but there exists a large gray area
in between in which the acceptability or unacceptability of a gift is not so clear.
In relation to police acceptance of gratuities, it could be argued that although there seems to be a big
difference between accepting a cup of coffee and accepting a six figure bribe to look the other way
while a murder is carried out, this is not really the case. For there is a logical slippery slope here, given
that there is only a small difference between accepting a cup of coffee, and accepting a cup of coffee

was a teacher most of his life but he didn t teach his most important lesson until his last six months on
earth while battling ALS and losing to the terminal illness. Mitch is a young man that does not expect
his life to change so drastically has he spends each Tuesday with Morrie in his study. Each Tuesday
Morrie and Mitch share stories, laughs, and tears as Mitch documents every moment with him. Mitch
finds himself learning more from Morrie than he ever has being a student in his classroom. The
subject Mitch was being taught by Morrie was The Meaning of Life and Mitch was luckily
documenting it all and sharing it with the world, teaching readers the lessons of life Morrie has to
teach. Morrie turns the dying experience into a learning experience for himself and the loved ones
around him. 1. In the beginning of the chapter The Professor Morrie is explaining the day he found out
his mother died, he was eight years old and a telegram came from the hospital, Morrie had to break the
news to his family because he was the only one who could read English. His Russian father tells him
to not speak of her and to keep the memory of him inside his head and heart. When his mother was
sick he ignored her when she would call Morrie for help, Morrie thought that if he could pretend that
he did not hear her, in his mind he believe this could make the illness go away by ignoring it.

Characterization Of Harrison Bergeron In 2081 And Harrison...
Characterization of Harrison Bergeron in 2081 and Harrison Bergeron
Comparing and contrasting Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron and Chandler Tuttle s 2081 in relation
to their characterization of the short story s namesake is an undertaking chock full of potential. These
two sources are very different in their representation of young Harrison and this serves to completely
skew one s preconceived understanding of his person, motivations, and desires. Due to this subtle but
significant variation one can come to the conclusion that the way an individual is portrayed and the
words they speak in different genres greatly manipulates others perception of their character. This is
evident when one analyzes the monologuing and shot choices of the short film or the descriptions and
dialogue in the story.
A satirical genius not recognized as such in his early years, Vonnegut published what is now a staple
in high school classrooms in 1961. This work is named for a character who appears only briefly, but in
that time creates a very strong impression; Harrison Bergeron is a fourteen year old boy who surpasses
most of society in every measurable quality. Vonnegut s brash description of Harrison depicts him as
some monstrous being of metal and sandbags, reminiscent of horror movie villains of times long past.
Despite his limited dialogue, the words Harrison speaks reinforce this image to a tee; he is a power
hungry beast of a boy. Victim to delusions of grandeur,

Joni describes her views on life from before her accident. She had always thought what most girls and
women thought about their lives: They had to have the ideal look . As she told her story, Joni said, For
one thing, my life values have gotten turned from wrong side down to right side up. Even more, she
wants people to know that there are so many other things like friendships, relationships, and love that
matter much more than that ideal look . Instead of focusing on what she wanted herself to look like,
Joni devoted her life to her faith, her marriage, and to her artwork ( Joni s Life Story ). During her
depression, Joni relied heavily on the Bible to give her hope during the darkest times. Likewise, she
didn t give up on her faith and just throw it out the back door because her life suddenly got extremely
difficult. On several occasions, she went to the Word of God for the answer to her questions and
troubles. Joni has not only remained devoted to God, but also devoted to her husband, Ken. He is
constantly supporting her, taking care of her, and showing his compassion and love. One thing Ken
does every day for his wife is flip her over in the middle of the night to prevent pressure sores from

America s Changing Fringe Economy
Part I: Chapter 1: America s Changing Fringe Economy In Chapter 1 it goes into depth with a multiple
definitions of the fringe economy and how profitable the fringe economy is. This chapter also
provides information pertaining the involvement of mainstream financial institutions that would have
been guessed. It talks about how 22,000 payday lenders extended more than $25 billion in short term
loans to millions of struggling households in 2004. Also it went over how 11,000 check cashing stores
alone processed 180 million checks, which would equal to about $55 Billion. With payday lenders out
numbering other local stores and restaurants it is allowing them to be at every corner in low income
neighborhoods making it convenient and pushing banks out of the area. For example, straight out of
the book it describes how McDonald s has only 13,500 U.S. restaurants, Burger King has 7624, Target

Kendrick Lamar s Music And Music
Kendrick Lamar has lyrics that are hard, but within those lyrics is a description of his childhood which
was even harder. To provide some background on Kendrick Lamar, he grew up in Piru territory of
Compton, also know as Bompton. His parents both used drugs, and listened to many different types of
music ranging from, Jazz and blues to gangsta rap. Any hip hop fan should be familiar with Kendrick
s name, they should also be familiar with his music. The fact that Kendrick Lamar isn t being
recognized as a legend this early in his career slightly upsets me.
Kendrick Lamar s newer music is underappreciated because of the unique sound and thought
provoking lyrics. Many people don t listen to music for the full experience; they just listen for some
background noise. According to a study published by Edison Research, in May 2014, 52.1% of the
music listened to by Americans every day is on the Radio. To think that over half of the music heard
every day is probably coming from car speakers, a dusty radio on your grandfather s workbench, or
that little radio tucked in a corner in your kitchen, is astounding. People that listen to music on the
radio normally don t concentrate on the music. Music is typically used to accompany a mundane task,
or another source of entertainment, like a puzzle. It is also very common to listen to music while
working. And while listening to music while doing other tasks isn t a negative thing, people don t
know what they are listening to. This

The Ratio And Cash Ratio
Liquidity is the ability to convert any asset into cash quickly. Liquidity is important because liquid
assets can provide cash that can be reinvested into other assets when prices are low. This can also
reduce some investing risks by ensuring that an investor will be able to quickly react to market moves.
There are several ratios that are used to measure liquidity the current, quick, and cash ratios.
Essentially, the higher the current asset ratio, the better. Amazon s current ratio (107%) is higher than
that of Walmart (83%) and this suggests that this company s short term assets are more readily
available to pay off the company s short term liabilities than Walmart.
Amazon s quick ratio and cash ratio are also higher than that of ... Show more content on

A higher margin percentage indicates a higher profitability. Therefore, Amazon (27.2) would appear to
be more profitable than Walmart (24.9). In their 2013 financial report, Amazon demonstrates that their
gross profit margin has increased in 2013 compared to prior years which they attribute to their
increase in their total sales/service sales.
The operating profit margin is another quantitative measure of profitability. Investors pay close
attention to this ratio because positive and negative trends in the operating margin are attributable to
management decisions. Amazon s operating profit margin (1.0) is significantly lower than that of
Walmart (5.90). This means that a net profit of $5.90 is made on each dollar of sales at Walmart
whereas Amazon only makes a net profit of $1.00 on each dollar of sales. This indicates that a higher
proportion of Walmart s revenue is converted to operating income. Over the past few years, Amazon s
operating margin ratio has actually declined which signifies that their probability is not improving as
of resent times. In comparison, Walmart s operating margin has been consistent or stable for the past
few years.
Net profit margin is most often mentioned when discussing the profitability of a company because
investors can see a great deal from a net profit analysis For example, this measurement allows them to

The Causes Of The Enlightenment And The Stonewall Riots
The struggle for equality has been present in history since the dawn of time. From the Israeli struggle
in their homeland during Roman rule to the hardships faced during the Civil Rights Movement, the
desire for equal rights and freedom is not a new concept. Throughout history, one can find instances
where events seem to repeat the events of the past. An instance of this is the parallel between the
Enlightenment and the Stonewall Riots. Not only is there a parallel there, the French Revolution is
similar to the Stonewall Riots as well.
The Stonewall Riots were a series of riots that began on June 28th, 1969 in the early morning at the
Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village of New York City. Police raided the building after they discovered
the bar had been serving alcohol without a license. After the arrests of the bar workers and some of the
LGBT community, bottles were thrown from those in the bar. This led to an uprising in which the
police were barricaded into the establishment and the rioters attempted to set the building on fire
(which they do eventually). For the next 5 6 days, more LGBT activists would gather to protest in the
area meeting the police who tried their best to stop them. In the end, the riots ended when the New
York City Riot Police came in to control the area. One of the survivors of the riots, Scott G. Brown,
recalls the night in a Huffington Post article whi he wrote. The article stated, The riots were a
reflection of the innermost feelings and

The Fall Of The House Of Usher
In the short story, The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe the most important conflict is
between Rodrick Usher, the protagionist, and fear.

The conflict increases throughout the story and is
eventaully resolved. In the beginning of the story the tension starts when the narrator describes the
house he is approaching. He uses words like dull , dark , and soundless to set the mood of the story
and then goes on to give the imagery of an eerie, evil house that is starting to fall apart. Upon arriving
the narrator seeks his childhood friend Rodrick who is ill. Rodrick suffers from extreme anxiety and
fear, which the narrator thinks is caused by the house itself. Throughout the story the conflict

Ohana Language Conventions
Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and thank you for this opportunity to share with you today. I am
honoured to discuss with you the effectiveness, in regards to technology and language conventions, of
the short film Ohana. With the intention of creating a film that brought to light serious issues whilst
upholding a prodigious standard as a production, this film was successful as such through the plentiful
access to various technologies as well as the implementation of language conventions and codes. To
begin with, we will be viewing Ohana for the purpose of its reference later on. Media: Ohana In the
viewing of any production, the director s input is palpable as unique and is often attributed to the
director s auteur style. The Auteur Theory in which this notion derives from is attributed to François
Truffaut as he wrote about it an essay entitled A Certain Tendency in French Cinema. In this essay,
Truffaut claimed that directors are able to express their personal ideas in the greatest medium of
contemporary society: film. He is often quoted as saying There are no good and bad movies, only

able to be utilised in an effortless manner with attempts appearing as jerky and without fluid motion.
Therefore, as these shots were distracting and ineffective, they were not included in the final version
of Ohana. This disclusion had no detrimental effect on the production however did limit some of the
opportunities for camera movement and perhaps did not allow for a complex range of shots. This, in
turn, had somewhat of an impact on the

Parliament Of Great Britain Analysis
Dear King George III and the Parliament of Great Britain, It has come to our attention that it appears
that you have forgotten how to treat the citizens of your colonies. Parliament continues to barraid us
with unlawful and ridiculous taxes and acts without granting us any form of representation in
Parliament, and no, virtual representation is not representation, regardless of whatever George
Greenville says. Furthermore, you continue to send masses of troops to our cities, such as Boston, to
enforce these ridiculous acts on us, while simultaneously expecting us, by law mind you, to feed them
and house them. We have made an attempt to reach out to you with our olive branch petition, and you

Final Exam Research Paper
Final Exam Essay
Writing is one of the most difficult subjects I have taken on this spring semester. Being able to identify
the different types of essays as well as putting my skills together to write them is the most difficult to
me. Although I have learned from the negative and positive feedback, I still feel there is a huge area
that needs improvement. Starting this out I didn t quite know what to expect or what level my writing
skills were at. I will most definitely be able to use what I ve learned for my future education as well as
my future career. Intellectually I know I had a smart, compassionate instructor that just wanted to
absolute best for me in this aspect.
The beginning of my struggles with writing was back in seventh grade, I remember staying after
school 3 out of 5 days a week for tutorials. I struggled with it all the way until my junior year in high
school whenever I came across my English teacher who was once a college professor. It was a daily
struggle and even then I remember staying after school 3 out of the 5 days for tutorials. After seeing
my skills improve every day, I knew all I needed was extra coaching and practice. If I would have

knew how to tell what information was true and false on different websites. Knowing there are several
resources available to me is what makes it even better. Taking this feedback and applying it towards

Title of consider
Where there are problems, they are often with the way the Australian federal system operates, rather
than with federalism itself. Rather than criticising our federal system, we should be working to make
better use of its advantages in order to improve our prosperity. In particular, the reform of the
allocation of powers and responsibilities between the Commonwealth and the States, and reform of
fiscal federalism, are desperately needed. (Twomey and Withers, 2007)
Twomey and Withers argue the approach of strategic pragmatism as outlined in Wanna s paper. The
basis of their position is that the federalism structure is unlikely to be subject to major redesign and
the discussion should focus on improving current operation.

Varities of Violence Essay
The books Child of the Dark by Carolina Maria de Jesus and Testimony by Victor Montejo describes
the lives of two individuals from different societies. In both of these societies there was much hardship
and violence. The two main characters who wrote these books describe life through their point of view
and explains the hardship and challenges they had living in a society filled with violence. Victor
Montejo lived in a society that was a very poor area. The village was located in Guatemala. Though he
lived outside of this village it is where he spent most of his time since he was the schoolmaster. The
people in village were very poor and believed in community as a way of life. The villagers were out to

Those people ranged from low end soldiers who made their money by raiding villages. To higher end
lieutenants. To become a lieutenant for the governments military it seemed as though you had to kill as
many people as possible. Outside of the governments military their were bands of guerillas who
fought to bring a new government and change to the Guatemalan society. They would attempt to do
this by fighting against all people who they saw is believing the government was right. The other type
of people in the society around them was the government workers and officals themselves who
promised all these small villages such great things but just keep the money themselves instead. If you
were defy the government you would be killed, imprisoned or tortured.
Carolina Maria de Jesus in many ways lived off in a worse society then Victor Montejo even though
their were some similarities. Carolina lived in a area in Sao Paulo with her three children. In this story
it was referred to as a Favela, which is technically a slum. Really it is more then a slum it really means
you are secluded from the rest of society in a area where it is almost impossible to get you and your
family out of. In this type of area to make money many people including Carolina herself would have
to collect aluminum, paper and cardboard or anything else you could find to sell for a little bit of
money to support yourself and your family. Usually the money made from this type of acts would be

The True Nature Of Universal Intelligence And Innate...
INNATE INTELLIGENCE
We have seen that the essence or origin of all that exists is intelligence, and it is organized in similar
patterns throughout the Universe. Therefore, we called it Universal Intelligence. By inference, we
understand that this principle is not foreign or external to the universe, but that it is rather intrinsic,
innate in all its manifestations, all phenomena of Life. Let s see what the definitions of the word innate
tells us: that which exists inside ; that which is with ; native or natural ; that which is essential in
nature . And the meaning of essential: what is in itself ; own and permanent identity . The essential
nature of everything that exists, all beings, animated or inanimated, including Man, is therefore the
Universal Intelligence, and we say that this is innate and gives them an identical essence that unites
them despite their apparent or superficial difference.
Innate Intelligence, or innate, is the term that applies to the present universal essence in each one of
us. It is the true nature of man. Intelligence, Universal and Innate, is what is. It is what we are really.

The Conflict Of The Palestinian Negotiations
The word colonization and encroachment of lands reach a new level when we talk about the Occupied
Palestinian territory. In 1948, with the establishment of the state of Israel more than three quarters of
the Palestinian population were forcibly dispossessed and expelled to become refugees in neighboring
Arab states to make way for the newcomers (Giacaman et al., 2009).
Since then the lives of British Mandate Palestinians kept on becoming worse with ongoing conflicts
and failed attempts of resolutions. The outcomes of the Israeli Palestinian negotiations to peace have
not yet been determined. But what has been seen is that since the eruption of violence in September
2000, Palestinians have suffered from a lack of access to basic services, particularly much needed
medical services and violations of the health related rights, which have also increased considerably
with time (Stefanini Ziv, 2004).
From that time, multiple roadblocks have been established in the West Bank and in the Gaza,
preventing people in these areas from accessing medical care. Physical barriers have been established
around villages, medical personnel have been denied free passage, ambulances were torched with fire,
hospitals have been surrounded by tanks and searched and have been left without medical supplies,
residents have been imprisoned in their homes without basic food items or access to medicines
(Stefanini Ziv, 2004).
This assignment will outline the major health problems in the Occupied

My Teaching Philosophy Of Teaching For Physical Education
EPE 100 has not only taught me so much about becoming a teacher but a ton about myself. Prior to
EPE 100, I felt as though I had a solid understanding of what it meant to be a physical education
teacher. Do a quick warm up, Rally the students, put them into teams, explain the rules and let them go
at it. Man oh man was I wrong. Throughout readings, assignments, and practice I now believe to have
a much better understanding of what it means to be a physical education teacher. There has been three
major ideas that have begun to influence my teaching philosophy; Teaching for physical literacy and
skill development not just sports, embracing physical activity as a lifelong journey and challenging all
students inside and outside of the classroom. These three concepts are very important to me as I begin
my teaching career and are the three highlights in which I took out of EPE 100. It took me a very poor
micro teaching experience to finally understand that physical education is truly about more than just
sports. You learn more from failure, than you do from success this is a quote that I hear very often
from various coaches and teachers. I think this perfectly sums up my micro teaching experience, while
it was not a completely failure it served as a very important lesson to me. It was not until I was placed
into a teaching situation that I fully realised not everyone is going to excell, and that one cannot expect
the whole class to be able to pick up a sport in one lesson. Nick

Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, And Quartering Acts
There were a lot of events leading up to the American Revolution. But there are three events that are
important. These three events were the Stamp Act, the Boston Tea Party, and the Quartering Acts. The
first event was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act is when King George decided he needed to tax the
colonies over in America because he needed to pay for the wars they fought (uniforms, weapons, food,
shelter, supplies, etc.). So when he passed the Stamp Act, all the colonists had to pay a tax on paper
like newspapers, playing cards, and regular paper. The colonists rejected the tax. They protested until
King George repealed it. The second event was the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was when
the Tea Act has been passed. The Tea Act meant

  • 2. Analysis Of Catcher In The Rye Introduction Work is hard. Distractions are plentiful. Time is short. Adam Hochschild. We all have distractions. Sometimes, they are even good. They are always there. We use them when we are lonely and in consequence, we escape our lonely world and enter the boisterous one we have escaped to a pathway full of shortcuts. Who are you after you take those shortcuts? Holden Caulfield of J.D. Salinger s The Catcher In the Rye is one who unnoticeably takes these shortcuts. When Holden escapes school after failing most of his classes, the whole world is thrown at him. He wants to get to his family, even though they are less than a mile away from him. In the end, he is just asking for forgiveness from the people around him. Holden Caulfield of J.D Salinger s The Catcher In The Rye is lonely and feels sorry for himself, and consequently, uses other people to distract himself from his journey which causes Holden to be an anti hero. Assertion Number one J.D. Salinger, the author of The Catcher In The Rye tries to show us that Holden Caulfield of The Catcher In the Rye is a slacker and uses his siblings as an easy way out of school work. During this scene in the book, Holden wrote ambot how he had to write to write a paper about a house for Stradlater , Holden s roommate. At the time, Stratlader was on a date. Holden is not speaking this line. He is just writing it. So what I did, I wrote about my brother Allie s baseball mitt. It was a very descriptive subject. It really was. My brother Allie had this left handed fielder s mitt. He was left handed. (Salinger, pg 38.) Holden says that he does not have a house to write about, so he resorts to his brother s baseball mitt. I think Holden is trying to take the easy way out of his work. When he says it was a very descriptive subject, he shows us that he is able to write on and on about it. He tells us that he does not challenge himself when it comes to schoolwork. Throughout the quote, the theme working without will is portrayed. The tone of this quote is calm. I think that this is because Holden s siblings relax him inasmuch as they are one of the few things that Holden has. Assertion Number Two J.D. Salinger, the author of The ... • 3. The History Of Communism Communism is an economic system where the government owns the means of production, and is one where there is no private ownership because it is under the control of the communities or the state. Since its proposal in 1848 by German Philosophers, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, in their book, The Communist Manifesto , there are many who have been influenced by the writings of Marx and Engels. This has led to many revolutions and establishments of governments with the communist ideals of peace, solidarity, and labour. The communists of today do not have to live in fear as the communists during the McCarthy era, where thousands of Americans were monitored and questioned regarding their loyalty to the United States. During this time, the Red ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those who oppose them, from everyday people to the media, will point to the statistics. They will state that communism killed 100 million people in the 20th century, but the counterargument to that is simply to point out the fact that capitalism kills, and has killed, more people every 5.5 years. One need only look at the statistics, such as those mentioned in the article: Attempting the Impossible Calculating Capitalisms Death Toll where the numbers are crunched together, and by looking throughout the history of capitalism and its influences. Also, one can think of many more deaths ranging from African slavery, Manifest Destiny, the colonization of Africa, and to the many wars brought on or backed by capitalist countries. The claim of the opposition is always that capitalist countries were protecting their interests and allies, but it does not warrant the unrestrained use of excessive force, especially when non capitalist countries attempt it and are met with massive condemnations and sanctions by capitalist countries. Opposition will say that communism starves the people. In the dictatorship of countries claiming to be communists, this is true, but to those who use it to point to the evils of communism need to see that capitalism is no better, it is even worse. In capitalist societies, particularly the United States, that boasts of power and prestige, one has to wonder why millions die in a country that has the means and equipment to feed the hungry, but would rather spend it on big businesses while an old man struggles to keep his small store from failing, a country that can provide healthcare coverage to all, but would rather have a family pay out of pocket. They can do all of this, but they do not. Yet they feel that they are in the right to call communism evil , and say that it will not work. It will not work for the big ... • 5. Mary Jackson Case Summary Subjective: Mary Jackson, 27 years old female, was evaluated at the University of Florida Speech and Hearing Clinic on October 10, 2017 because of her complaints of hearing difficulties, vertigo, and tinnitus. She reported the following: often asking people to repeat themselves, dizziness, balance complications, high pitched tonal ringing in the right ear, and an increased difficulty in understanding conversational speech, especially in the presence of background noise, since becoming pregnant. Mrs. Jackson had a family history of hearing loss from her maternal side due to otosclerosis. She reported a hearing screening had been done approximately 10 years ago while in high school and results indicated normal hearing. The patient experienced drastic changes in her daily routine: discomfort, embarrassment, and social isolation. Her listening needs include communication with her newborn and family members, co workers, and social networking. Objective: Bilateral otoscopy examinations indicated normal pinnas, external ear canals, and tympanic membranes. A pure tone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pure tone audiometry suggested the presence of otosclerosis in the right ear. SRT (50dB for the right ear and 30dB for the left ear) corresponds with the pure tone thresholds. WR scores for the right ear were 96% (85dB) and 100% (70dB) for the left ear, which are consistent with the CHL in the right ear and WNL in the left ear. Typanometry confirmed that finding by revealing a reduced compliance, which indicated less mobility of the tympanic membrane due to increased stiffness. These findings corresponded with the presence of Carhart s notch at 2000Hz from the audiogram. The absence of OAEs in the right ear also confirmed the conductive component of hearing loss in the right ear due to otosclerosis. The audiology evaluation affirmed that the patient has a decrease in hearing for natural and speech sounds in the right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Girl with a Pearl Earring Theme Essay VCE English: Unit 1 Text Response: Girl With a Pearl Earring Take care to remain yourself This text shows that remaining true to oneself must be balanced with family obligations. Discuss ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ Tracy Chevalier s novel Girl With a Pearl Earring explores the notion of ‘self thorough the main character Griet and her journey from innocence to experience. Firstly, we see throughout the novel Griet is aware she has much to learn about the world. Furthermore, under Vermeer s roof, Griet s self exploration spans many realms; artistically, emotionally, morally and religiously, and she emerges a more complex and mature character. Moreover, Vermeer assists Griet to expand her mind and perspective on life. Finally, Griet emerge from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It does not take long before Griet begins to feel she has two families now and they must not mix As Griet s ties with her family begin to weaken, so too, do her moral convictions. Griet is so blinded by her infatuation with Vermeer that she becomes his servant not on just a domestic, but an emotional level as well. She sacrifices her morals on many occasions and does not remain true to herself I did whatever he asked of me . We see the truth in Van Leeuwenhoek s warning that the women in his paintings he traps them in his world, as it is only with Vermeer that Griet loses control. When she was with Pieter she would not let him do all he wanted , but for Vermeer she pierces her ears, parts her lips, reveals her hair and is in all sense a ruined woman. Not only does Vermeer become the focus for Griet s emergent sexuality, he also serves to expand her mind and perspective on life. Teaching her that there is little pure white in clouds , Griet realises that the world is not always as it seems. Similarly, Griet s religious prejudices instilled in her by her family and society are quelled by Vermeer who teaches her that Its not the painting that is catholic or Protestant but the people who look at it, and what they expect to see . Furthermore, Griet s artistic ability is fostered by Vermeer as he teaches her to grind paints and build up false colours to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Cosmological Argument From Motion To begin, we start with an a posteriori argument, or an argument from experience. Arguments from experiences of the world to the existence of God are called cosmological arguments. This particular argument is the argument from motion. Argument from Motion: P1. Some things are moved. P2. If something is moved to being F, then it is potentially but not actually F. P3. If something moves a thing to be F, then it (the mover) is in a state of actuality relevant to F. C1. If something were to move itself to be F (e.g., be both moved and its own mover), then it would be both potentially but not actually F and also in a state of actuality relevant to F (conjunction, modus ponens, P1 3). P4. But it is not possible for something to be both potentially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will leave it to con to find any objections to this argument; however, I will respond to one preemptive problem that may seemingly arise. The issue comes from a seeming contradiction between Newton s law of inertial motion, or Newton s first law of motion, and the Aristotelian definition of motion on which the argument above rests. The problem may be resolved in two ways. Firstly, to assert that there is a contradiction is to equivocate between two different definitions of the word motion. Newton s account of motion is only concerned with local motion (motion or change in terms of place or location), while the Aristotelian is concerned with change of every sort (quality, quantity, substance, accident, etc.). Secondly, there is no formal contradiction. As the Thomist philosopher Edward Feser says: Suppose that motion is being used in the two principles in the same sense. Even given this assumption, there is no formal contradiction between them. Newton s law tells us that a body will in fact continue its uniform rectilinear motion if it is moving at all, as long as external forces do not prevent this. It does not tell us why it will do so. In particular, it does not tell us one way or the other whether there is a mover of some sort which ensures that an object obeys the First Law, and which is in that sense responsible for its ... • 10. What Is Occlusion As A Mechanical Instrument That... Introduction: Occlusion has been described as the most important subject in all the disciplines of dentistry, since it represents the way the teeth come together, and functions together. In restorative cases, where the patient is completely or partially edentulous, an articulator is needed, which is a mechanical device the holds the opposing casts, in order to be able to study the occlusion as in the patients mouth. This device; articulator, has different objectives and types, that will be discussed in the coming pages. Definition: An articulator is a mechanical instrument that represents the temporomandibular joints and jaws. The attachment between the TMJ and jaws with the maxillary and mandibular casts simulate some or all of the mandibular movements, which takes place around the TMJ which is capable of undergoing complex movements. An articulator is considered as any instrument which has a movable joint on which the maxillary and mandibular casts can be mounted. These mandibular movements can be rotation around the hinge axis, rotation around the antero posterior axis, rotation around the vertical axis, and translation. Numerous articulators are available for the restoration of occlusion. Objectives: Holding the casts in the same relative position that takes place in the mouth Allow motion similar to that TMJ s motion Duplicate the dental border movements Diagnose dental occlusal conditions, in both, natural and artificial dentitions. ... Many customers are forced to say positive, but not necessarily true, traits about themselves or hotels and are usually rated by companies unfairly. For Uber, customers are rated on their behavior, but there are no real standards suggesting what is meant by good, bad, or mediocre behavior. It is purely up to the designation of the driver, which can be more opinionated than factual. Logical slippery slopes exist when there are no clearly defined boundaries that can be used to draw distinctions between different cases, and thus any line drawn in the sand between two extremes will have some degree of arbitrariness about it. Suppose that a particular company allows its employees to accept small gifts from prospective suppliers. How should small be defined in those circumstances? Clearly a gift that has no monetary value would be acceptable, and an expensive piece of jewelry would be unacceptable, but there exists a large gray area in between in which the acceptability or unacceptability of a gift is not so clear. In relation to police acceptance of gratuities, it could be argued that although there seems to be a big difference between accepting a cup of coffee and accepting a six figure bribe to look the other way while a murder is carried out, this is not really the case. For there is a logical slippery slope here, given that there is only a small difference between accepting a cup of coffee, and accepting a cup of coffee and a doughnut, and only a small difference between accepting a ... • 17. Characterization Of Harrison Bergeron In 2081 And Harrison... Characterization of Harrison Bergeron in 2081 and Harrison Bergeron Comparing and contrasting Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron and Chandler Tuttle s 2081 in relation to their characterization of the short story s namesake is an undertaking chock full of potential. These two sources are very different in their representation of young Harrison and this serves to completely skew one s preconceived understanding of his person, motivations, and desires. Due to this subtle but significant variation one can come to the conclusion that the way an individual is portrayed and the words they speak in different genres greatly manipulates others perception of their character. This is evident when one analyzes the monologuing and shot choices of the short film or the descriptions and dialogue in the story. A satirical genius not recognized as such in his early years, Vonnegut published what is now a staple in high school classrooms in 1961. This work is named for a character who appears only briefly, but in that time creates a very strong impression; Harrison Bergeron is a fourteen year old boy who surpasses most of society in every measurable quality. Vonnegut s brash description of Harrison depicts him as some monstrous being of metal and sandbags, reminiscent of horror movie villains of times long past. Despite his limited dialogue, the words Harrison speaks reinforce this image to a tee; he is a power hungry beast of a boy. Victim to delusions of grandeur, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

America s Changing Fringe Economy Part I: Chapter 1: America s Changing Fringe Economy In Chapter 1 it goes into depth with a multiple definitions of the fringe economy and how profitable the fringe economy is. This chapter also provides information pertaining the involvement of mainstream financial institutions that would have been guessed. It talks about how 22,000 payday lenders extended more than $25 billion in short term loans to millions of struggling households in 2004. Also it went over how 11,000 check cashing stores alone processed 180 million checks, which would equal to about $55 Billion. With payday lenders out numbering other local stores and restaurants it is allowing them to be at every corner in low income neighborhoods making it convenient and pushing banks out of the area. For example, straight out of the book it describes how McDonald s has only 13,500 U.S. restaurants, Burger King has 7624, Target has 1,250 stores, Sears has 1,970, J.C. Penney has about 1,000 locations, and the entire Wal Mart retail chain includes about 3,600 U.S. outlets. All of these combined 29,000 locations are fewer than the nation s 33,000 check cashing and payday lenders, just two sectors of the fringe economy. There are several ratios that are used to measure liquidity the current, quick, and cash ratios. Essentially, the higher the current asset ratio, the better. Therefore, Amazon (27.2) would appear to be more profitable than Walmart (24.9). In their 2013 financial report, Amazon demonstrates that their gross profit margin has increased in 2013 compared to prior years which they attribute to their increase in their total sales/service sales. The operating profit margin is another quantitative measure of profitability. Investors pay close attention to this ratio because positive and negative trends in the operating margin are attributable to management decisions. Amazon s operating profit margin (1.0) is significantly lower than that of Walmart (5.90). This means that a net profit of $5.90 is made on each dollar of sales at Walmart whereas Amazon only makes a net profit of $1.00 on each dollar of sales. This indicates that a higher proportion of Walmart s revenue is converted to operating income. Over the past few years, Amazon s operating margin ratio has actually declined which signifies that their probability is not improving as of resent times. From the Israeli struggle in their homeland during Roman rule to the hardships faced during the Civil Rights Movement, the desire for equal rights and freedom is not a new concept. Throughout history, one can find instances where events seem to repeat the events of the past. An instance of this is the parallel between the Enlightenment and the Stonewall Riots. Not only is there a parallel there, the French Revolution is similar to the Stonewall Riots as well. The Stonewall Riots were a series of riots that began on June 28th, 1969 in the early morning at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village of New York City. Police raided the building after they discovered the bar had been serving alcohol without a license. After the arrests of the bar workers and some of the LGBT community, bottles were thrown from those in the bar. This led to an uprising in which the police were barricaded into the establishment and the rioters attempted to set the building on fire (which they do eventually). For the next 5 6 days, more LGBT activists would gather to protest in the area meeting the police who tried their best to stop them. In the end, the riots ended when the New York City Riot Police came in to control the area. One of the survivors of the riots, Scott G. INNATE INTELLIGENCE We have seen that the essence or origin of all that exists is intelligence, and it is organized in similar patterns throughout the Universe. Therefore, we called it Universal Intelligence. • 34. The Conflict Of The Palestinian Negotiations The word colonization and encroachment of lands reach a new level when we talk about the Occupied Palestinian territory. In 1948, with the establishment of the state of Israel more than three quarters of the Palestinian population were forcibly dispossessed and expelled to become refugees in neighboring Arab states to make way for the newcomers (Giacaman et al., 2009). Since then the lives of British Mandate Palestinians kept on becoming worse with ongoing conflicts and failed attempts of resolutions. The outcomes of the Israeli Palestinian negotiations to peace have not yet been determined. But what has been seen is that since the eruption of violence in September 2000, Palestinians have suffered from a lack of access to basic services, particularly much needed medical services and violations of the health related rights, which have also increased considerably with time (Stefanini Ziv, 2004). From that time, multiple roadblocks have been established in the West Bank and in the Gaza, preventing people in these areas from accessing medical care. Physical barriers have been established around villages, medical personnel have been denied free passage, ambulances were torched with fire, hospitals have been surrounded by tanks and searched and have been left without medical supplies, residents have been imprisoned in their homes without basic food items or access to medicines (Stefanini Ziv, 2004). This assignment will outline the major health problems in the Occupied ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. My Teaching Philosophy Of Teaching For Physical Education EPE 100 has not only taught me so much about becoming a teacher but a ton about myself. Prior to EPE 100, I felt as though I had a solid understanding of what it meant to be a physical education teacher. Do a quick warm up, Rally the students, put them into teams, explain the rules and let them go at it. Man oh man was I wrong. Throughout readings, assignments, and practice I now believe to have a much better understanding of what it means to be a physical education teacher. There has been three major ideas that have begun to influence my teaching philosophy; Teaching for physical literacy and skill development not just sports, embracing physical activity as a lifelong journey and challenging all students inside and outside of the classroom. These three concepts are very important to me as I begin my teaching career and are the three highlights in which I took out of EPE 100. It took me a very poor micro teaching experience to finally understand that physical education is truly about more than just sports. You learn more from failure, than you do from success this is a quote that I hear very often from various coaches and teachers. I think this perfectly sums up my micro teaching experience, while it was not a completely failure it served as a very important lesson to me. It was not until I was placed into a teaching situation that I fully realised not everyone is going to excell, and that one cannot expect the whole class to be able to pick up a sport in one lesson. • 38. Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, And Quartering Acts There were a lot of events leading up to the American Revolution. But there are three events that are important. These three events were the Stamp Act, the Boston Tea Party, and the Quartering Acts. The first event was the Stamp Act. So when he passed the Stamp Act, all the colonists had to pay a tax on paper like newspapers, playing cards, and regular paper. The colonists rejected the tax. They protested until King George repealed it. The second event was the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was when the Tea Act has been passed. The Tea Act meant ...
