Narrative Voices In Romeo And Juliet
Narrative voices are used to express romantic emotions towards female characters, and they first
express their emotions of attraction to that woman by use of meaningful words. Michelle is a
song written by John Lennon and performed by Paul McCartney. The song is about man that is
trying to express his affections to Michelle, who does not understand the same language.
Therefore, he must put the words he wants to express in a way she could comprehend. The
Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, is a play that was written by William Shakespeare. This tragedy is
about two young lovers that are separated by a barrier that their families are sworn enemies. The
character Romeo uses his words to express his love towards Juliet, and many events in the

High Cost Of College Tuition Research Paper
Would you like to become a well educated person? Would you like to have a stable job? Would
you like to make enough money to be able to do leisure activities as you please? Do you want to
be able to support a family someday? All of this requires getting a higher education and attending
college. The already high and rising cost of tuition makes affording collegeextremely difficult for
most people. This expensive tuition has spiraling effects. These include high schoolgraduates
choosing to not attend college, college graduates left in debtfor many years, and a troubling effect
on the economy. As students graduate high school they are faced with the overwhelming decision
of what to do next with their life. As juniors in high school, you all have... Show more content on

This isn t surprising considering that the cost of college tuition has been been rising almost
three times as fast as inflation. When college students graduate, they are tied down by their debt
and aren t able to do anything with their life until they have paid it all off. Debt puts life on hold
for these students. Could you imagine moving back in with your parents at the age of 24 or 25
or maybe even closer to your thirties? According to the American Student Assistance Survey,
27% of college graduates said that they had no choice but to move back in with their parents to
be able to afford the cost of living with their student loans. In another survey, around 30% of
graduates said they were delaying marriage because of their immense amount of debt (Life
Delayed: The Impact of Student Debt on the Daily Lives of Americans). Could you imagine
pushing the rest of your life off because you owed so much money? How does that seem right?
How are we supposed to make a decision between drowning in debt or suffocating? Situations like
this not only affect the graduates themselves, but also the economy of our

Theme Of Nature In To Build A Fire
This is a famous short story by Jack London, which takes on a familiar theme, man vs nature.
The man is traveling by foot with his dog through the Yukon trail, on the way to a camp on
Henderson Creek. This man story is told from the third person omniscient point of view. At no
point is the story told from the dog s perspective. That means that the narrator knows the thoughts,
actions, and feelings of all the characters; in this case, To Build a Fire the narrator s characters are
the unnamed man and the dog who accompanies him. London description of this man and his
surrounding gives the readers a visual image of how the Alaskan wilderness looks like. It was cold
freezing and cold. The man s struggles to last in the bitter cold illustrate... Show more content on

Although the man is freezing form the cold and getting frostbite, he is still trying to fight the harsh
weather
The Abundance of stupidity and pride are personified in the story s protagonist. For example, he
goes through the extremely cold area alone, despite going for the first time. This presumption
results in the protagonist putting himself in a bad situation that was completely preventable. At
first, he thinks nothing will happen and everything will be okay. By the end of the story, he is dead
as a result of his arrogance. Jack London illustrates the element of arrogance when the main
character ignores the possibility that there may be situations he cannot overcome.
Coming of death is another theme in the story; more specifically the peace that can be found in
death. Jack London foreshadows that the man will die in the story. Foreshadowing meaning that the
author is hinting what will be coming up later on in the story, which keeps the readers attentively
reading because they are curious about what will

Pros And Disadvantages Of Entrepreneur
A business leader who brings money, raw materials, manufacturing facilities, skilled labor is called
entrepreneur. Entrepreneur has worn many faces and played many roles. Most policy makers and
academics agree that entrepreneurship is critical to the development and well being of society. They
create jobs, drive and shape the innovation, speeding up the structural changes in the economy.
They are usually modeled as combinations of innovators with creative and innovative flair and
managers with general management skills.
According to the Richard Cantillon (1680 1734), entrepreneur is risk taker who has the foresight
and willingness to assume risk and take the require action to make profit or loss. His
entrepreneur is kind of forward looking and risk taking. Risks were distinguished by Frank Knight
(1885 1972) as capable of being measured and un measurable. According to Knight, entrepreneur
takes the latter risk which is no objective measure of probability of gain or loss. According to
Burke (2006), entrepreneur can be defined as a person who habitually creates and innovates to build
something of recognized value around perceived opportunities. Joseph Schumpeter (1883 1950) said
that entrepreneur is innovator who is the central figure in advancing the wealth of nations and
creating dynamics disequilibrium in the global economy. He pointed out that knowledge underlying
the innovation need not be newly discovered and may be existing knowledge that has never been

Dynamic Character Of Walter Lee
Lindsay Roach Response Journals 9.3 Semester 2 Journal 1 Walter Lee Walter Lee is a dynamic
character who changes several times throughout this story. At the beginning of the play, Walter
is very ambitious and wants more out of his life. He says, I got me a dream (pg 33). He is
motivated own the liquor store and to succeed. His first change in character happens when
Mama refuses to help pay for the liquor store and his wife has another bun in the oven. His needs
moved and he wound up plainly discouraged, going out, drinking too much alcohol, and missing
shifts. His point of view changed again when Mama gave him some cash from the check and let
him know, I m telling you to be the head of this family from now on like you supposed to be (pg
107). From that moment on Walter became more responsible, loving, and took on a leadership
position in his family. This change was apparent when his dreams returned while talking to Travis
about driving a, plain black Chrysler (pg 108). Walters change in his perspective of life
demonstrates that he is a dynamic, round character. Beneatha Beneatha is a round, dynamic
character that evolves throughout the play. She comprehends herself and her general public better
toward the finish of the play than toward the start. She learns to deal with the failures of the
people around her. She learns that her views on African culture are based on her personal
experiences not on a wholly African one. She also discovers that there are

Taking a Look at Shyness
Have you felt awkward, worried or even tense during social encounters? Do you feel these
emotions around people you are unfamiliar with? If so, you have probably encountered what it
feels like to be shy. Some will occasionally feel shy and others may be severely shy when
interacting with others, in which they can feel themselves start to blush, sweat, and have an upset
stomach. The person may also begin to feel a sense of negativity about them or even become
withdrawn from interacting with others ( American Psychological Association ). Interacting with
others on a day to day basis is life, and the shyer the person is, the more inhibited and reluctant they
are to approach others. Shynesscan be defined as the discomfort or inhibition in situations that can
interfere with pursuing a person s interpersonal or professional goals. The feelingof shyness can be
generated by a wide variety of cues such as one on one opposite sex interactions, intimacy,
unfamiliarity of others, and having to take individual action in groups (Henderson Zimbardo,
2008). Reacting to new and unfamiliar situations can bring out shy feelings, a new job, and
public speaking at an assembly or for a class, dating someone new or the first day of school are
situations in which a person could feel shy. The greater the feeling of not knowing how to react
or what to say will result in a greater feeling of shyness. Those who know what to expect in
situations and are sure of what to say are less likely to feel

Women During The War Period Essay
The war period changed the life of women, children, indians, and blacks. The minorities of the
country became the most dependable workers during this time. Before the war most of the
workers were males. When the war broke out most of the males had to leave their jobs and go
fight in the war. This meant that there were many jobs openings for those who did not have a
good job or were not working in the industry they wanted to be in. Women were told it was their
patriotic duty to step up and start working. The number of employed women increased to 19
million during the period of war (732). The jobs women were working included everything from
operating heavy machinery to driving to taxis and to being nurses helping with the war effort.
Women having to work changed the lifestyle of children. Before the war the women usually stayed
home to help take care and provide for the children, this changed during the war. Children were left
unattended to during the day since one parent was off and war and the other was off working. This
led to children misbehaving and getting themselves in to trouble since they were left unsupervised
during the day.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There became more black leaders fighting for equal rights during this time as well as more
blacks working. The amount of blacks employed double to 1.2 million during the time of war

because before the war blacks were undermined and were not treated as fairly. Many blacks also
joined the military. They went off to fight for the United Statesand some became pilots or navy

Apollo vs. The Palette of Narmer Essay example
The two works of art that have been chosen to compare and contrast are The Palette Of Narmer
and Apollo of Veii. The Palette Of Narmer dates back to the Hierakonpolis Dynasty 1 in 3100
BCE. The Palette of Narmer is interesting because it is the oldest historic work of art that names a
person, and is the earliest piece of art that uses hieroglyph. This artwork depicts the dawn of a new
age of man and his use of writing and pictographs in art. The statueof Apollo, from Veii comes
from the Etruscan art period Apollo was created around 500 BCE. It was created by a very popular
sculpture of his time, by the name of Vulca. The delicate technique of firingclay is fascinating. A

Many scholars believe that palettes decorated with animals, birds, and human figures had some
sort of ceremonial function. On the palette, Narmer s name appears in pictographs a horizontal
fish translated Nar and a vertical chisel translated Mer. These hieroglyphs appear three times on
this piece of art. The king appears as the main character in various scenes on both sides of the
palette, he also appears in hierachical proportion representing the status of individuals in a highly
stratified society. The significance of the ruler appearing larger than other human figures indicates
importance and divine status. On one side of the palette Narmer appears with the White Crown of
Upper Egypt signifying that it has been tamed. On the opposite side he wears the Red Crown of
Lower Egypt signifying that it also had been tamed. These images amongst other images of
conquest proclaim him to be the great unifier, protector, and leader of the Egyptian people.
The statue of Apollo is made of painted Terra cotta, which is also known as baked clay. It is the
same material used for pottery containers. It stands at a height of five feet ten inches, and is
recognized by the statues archaic smile, well developed massive body, quick stride, and expressive
power. Apollo is partially concealed by a robe that cascades down in knife edged pleats to his knees.

Growing in Poverty
Poverty is currently not a hot topic in the current world of politics. Every candidate wants to tackle
the upper or the middle class and often forget about those living in poverty. Poverty can affect
anyone and effect everyone in our society. One may wonder what poverty is and why poverty is
a big issue or does it have a large impact on our societies. Webster s dictionary defines poverty as
the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions.
In a world that is full of the latest and the most advanced possessions and technologies to enhanced
our way of life, it seems that there is a remedy for almost anything that you can imagine. However,
when it comes to someone living in poverty, the access to these things and the necessities of life are
not readily available. When one does not have the necessities to live in a socially acceptable
environment it causes lack in the areas of childhood development and education, nutrition and
health, and economic development.
Families that live in poverty don t have access to the education for a various reasons. Although
transportation is provided by schools, parents lack the ability to provide resources for the child to
attend school, such as, food, clean clothes and school supplies. Education is very important in
childhood development. In a recent article, Edward Kennedy states, Young children

Comparison Of Fashion In The 1960 s
Trends today, are hardly ever completely new. More often than we may notice, we recycle trends
and styles and then add our own modern turns. Even though fashion and style in today s pop
culture is about individuality; we share several similarities with the fashion scene of the 1960 s.
Fashion took a everlasting turn in the 1960 s and some of our most iconic looks come from the
decade.
Even though the 60 s are best known as the decade for crazy experimentation; when it came to the
world of fashion, there was a bit of slow change. As the decade began nothing revolutionary had
sparked from the previous years. The decade started off with classical, conservative and restrained
styles. Rolling into the mid 60 s, looks became more long, slender and colors brightened, albeit still
subtle. The British Invasion hit and for the first time in decades London became the fashion capital
of the world, not Paris. It wasn t until the late 60 s struck that the fashion world exploded. Bright,
swirling colors, psychedelic tie dies, long hair and beards were all the rage. Clothing became sleek
and modern; the term of unisex also came about as women s clothes became more masculine and
men s clothing in turn more feminine. (RetroWaste)
For women, fashion in the beginning of the 60 s hadn t changed much from the 50 s. There was
also hints of styles from the 1920 s and 1930 s. However by 1963 small changes were becoming
more noticable. Clothing seen on Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast At

I Stand Here Ironing
What do Betty from Pleasantville, June from Leave it to Beaver, and Donna Reed from The
Donna Reed Show all have in common? They all represent the image of the perfect housewife in
the 1950s. They represent women who gladly cooked, cleaned, dressed in pearls and wore high
heals while waiting for their all knowing husbands to come home. They represent women who can
only find fulfillment in male domination and nurturing maternal love. Tillie Olsen, as a single
motherwith four children (204), provides readers with another view of women. Through the
representation of the narrator in I Stand Here Ironing, Olsen contradicts the image of the 50s ideal
woman, a happy housewife and a perfect mother.
This story begins with a request for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was a single mother during Emily s initial years. Thus, instead of being able to spend time
and play with her 8 month old daughter, the narrator had to go out to look for a job as well as
Emily s missing father (199). She defied the image of a typical housewife. Instead of staying home
to cook, clean, and take care of her children, the narrator had to go out and get a job.
The narrator also made some clear mistakes in the raising of Emily. Due to circumstances that
were somewhat beyond her control, the narrator was not able to be particularly maternal with
Emily. The narrator had to leave Emily with Emily s father s family until she could raise enough
money. However this ended up taking a long time. The narrator states that when she finally came,
I hardly knew her, walking quick and nervous like her father, looking like her father, thin, and
dressed in a shoddy red that yellowed her skin and glared at the pockmarks. All the baby loveliness
gone (199). This statement shows that the narrator missed the crucial early years of her daughter s
life. She no longer felt that strong, ready connection that a mother feels with a child. She hardly
knew her daughter.
The narrator was not a very maternally loving mother to Emily. The old man living in the back
once said in his gentle way: `You should smile at Emily more when you look at her (200). Unlike
the mom s portrayed in the 1950 s, the narrator could not

Specific Predictive Prophecies Are One Of Daniel’S...
Specific predictive prophecies are one of Daniel s distinctive elements (Rogers, The Date of
Daniel: Does it Matter?). But what is predictive prophecy? Unlike the assumptions of some, not all
prophecy foretells the future (Jackson, Principles of Bible Prophecy). It was frequently the case
that prophets would forthtell past or present events (Jackson). For a prophecyto qualify as
predictive, it must meet certain qualifications. First, the prophecy must be uttered significantly
earlier than its fulfillment (Jackson). Second, the prophecy must contain specific details, not
guesswork (Jackson). And third, the prophecy must be exactly fulfilled (Jackson). Geisler adds that
legitimate predictive prophecies must contain unusual events that the... Show more content on

However, Daniel addresses these four kingdoms elsewhere in his work, and the traditional
identification of the four kingdoms is clear from a proper interpretation of those texts (Dan. 7:2
8, 17; 8:3 8, 20 22; Archer, A Survey of Old Testament Introduction, 376 78). Furthermore, Daniel
does not distinguish between the Median and Persian kingdoms (McDowell 22). His inspired
interpretation of the handwriting on the wall depicts the Persians, not the Medians, as the
conquerors of Babylon (Dan. 5:28; McDowell 23). Even if Daniel was written in the second
century B.C., some of his prophecies are still predictive since Rome was not a significant world
power and Christ s kingdom was not yet established (Geisler 179; McDowell 24 25). Therefore,
no logical reason exists to reject the predictive element of Daniel s four kingdom prophecy.
Another example of Daniel s predictive element comes from the prophecies of the Grecian
empire (Dan. 8:3 8, 20 22; 11:3 4). A sixth century B.C. date for Daniel places him approximately
200 years or more before Alexander the Great began his conquests (Elwell 1: 50). The former
prophecy accurately depicts Alexander s victory over the Persian Empire between B.C. 334 to 331
(Walton 554). The latter prophecy vividly describes the partitioning of Alexander s mighty empire
after his death (554, 560). Additionally, Josephus preserves a tradition that records Jewish priests
presented Alexander the Great with the book of Daniel

Celtic Religion Essay
In my paper I will argue that Celtic Spirituality can and should be used to reinvent the church
today. The church is in decline and turmoil for many reasons (lack of time or interest, aversion to
authority, dislike of evangelical Christian morals, avoidance of the term religious ) but Celtic
Spirituality, which has existed for centuries, still speaks. This form of spirituality is valid and
should be valued in today s world because the tradition s principles can support society s current
theological challenges. Books written by preeminent Celtic spiritualists John O Donohue and John
Philip Newell highlight these core values: friendship, love, beauty, silence and solitude, mystery,
and interconnection between all of creation/the cosmos and the divine. Currently, there is a spiritual
revolution occurring. Though people are choosing to not be... Show more content on

Philip Newell recognizes the need to cultivate the desire and yearning for peace within ourselves.
He notes that Celtic Spirituality is deeply aware of the disharmonies within and between us that

Analysis of the coach education and coach learning in the UK
1.0Introduction
The UK coaching framework was revised in 2012/2013 and a more concise document based
around Excellent Coaching Every Time for Everyone which provided a focus on four main key
objectives, these were:
More appropriately qualified and skilled coaches
A more diverse workforce
A culture of self improvement
A better supported workforce.
This report will discuss the current status of coach education and coach learning in the UK. These
findings will then be used to identify and recommend to the management board of Sports Coach
UK and the Minister for sport where the investments from the central Governments for coach
education and development should be placed.
2.0Current status of Sports Coaching in the UK
Gray (2011) said that coaching needed to become a profession; this is because of the widening
participation of young people in sport, community involvement and social responsibility and that
the health in Britain has gone down. Sports Coach UK (2008) agreed that it was in need of
professionalization because of Britain

Jealousy In John Knowles A Separate Peace
Jealousy is an emotion very evident in our society. We often compare ourselves to others, noticing
what they have that we do not, most commonly in terms of money or looks. Even those close to us
spark our jealousy, maybe a friend or sibling; although most wouldn t admit the fact. Author John
Knowles touches on this subject in his first published novel A Separate Peace. Through the voice
of Gene, Knowles uses figurative language in a self deprecating tone to show jealousy, as evident in
the passage, The second wave, as it tore toward the beach with me, spewed me a little ahead of it,
encroaching rapidly; suddenly it was immeasurably bigger than I was, it rushed me from the

The Causes Of The Soviet Union
The Soviet Union [8], officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR[9], Russian:

from 1922 to 1991. Nominally a union of multiple equal national Soviet republics,[a] its government
and economy were highly centralized. The country was a one party state, governed by the
Communist Party with Moscow as its capital in its largest republic, the Russian Soviet Federative

In June 1941, Germany invaded the Soviet Union, opening the largest and bloodiest theater of war
in history. Soviet war casualties accounted for the highest proportion of the conflict in the effort of
acquiring the upper hand over Axis forces at intense battles such as Stalingrad and Kursk. The
territories overtaken by the Red Army became satellite states of the USSR; the postwar division of
Europe into capitalist and communist halves would lead to increased tensions with the West, led by
the United States.
The Cold Waremerged by 1947, as the Eastern Bloc, united under the Warsaw Pact in 1955,

period of political and economic liberalization, known as de Stalinization and Khrushchev s Thaw ,
occurred under the leadership of Nikita Khrushchev. The Soviet Union took an early lead in the
Space Race, with the first artificial satellite and the first human spaceflight. In the 1970s, there was
a brief dГ©tente of relations with the United States, but tensions resumed with the Soviet Afghan

liberalize the economy through his policies of glasnost and perestroika. The Cold War ended during
his tenure, and in 1989, Soviet satellite states in Eastern Europe overthrew their respective

The Eruption Of Mount Vesuvius
Introduction
The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD was a pyroclastic event discussed in greater detail over
the course of this essay.
Mount Vesuvius is located on the southern coast of Italy, 1,281 metres above the Bay of Naples on
the plain of Campania between the Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Mount Vesuviusis
part of the Romana volcanic belt which covers about 450km from Mount Amatia, 130km from
north west Rome and 110km from East Naples. The Romana volcanic belt is made up of two
parallel volcanic scars. Mount Vesuvius is on the Western arc. This zone is highly fractured which
allows magma to rise up into the magma chamber beneath Mount Vesuvius. This chamber is
thought to be approximately 5km below the volcano and almost 2km high with a diameter of
around 1km. The volcano is situated where two faults in the Earth s crust converge. (De Boer and
Sanders, 2002)
Development of Mount Vesuvius
Mount Vesuvius developed inside the caldera of an older volcano. This volcano was known as
Monte Somma. Monte Somma became active around 400,000 years ago. Only the northern side
of Monte Somma is left, creating a wall like ridge around the northern edge of Mount Vesuvius.
This feature can be observed today at the site of Mount Vesuvius. The development of Vesuvius
produced a volcanic complex consisting of the two volcanoes. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002)

Similarities Of Two Peter And Jude
The similarities of 2 Peter and Jude might appear to be a strenuous task to some who have never
been engaged in reading the two writings. My essay will attempt to show the similarities that are
in these two writings which seem to have been scribed at the same time or around the same time.
Most similarities, of which are namely: the dates of the scribing of the two Epistles, the false
doctrines of the false teachers that had come into the church, the same thoughts and expressions of
their work, whether the writings are apostolic or not, and what hardships the churches or the two
audiences were facing. The Epistle of Jude has been said to be inscribed very late, but it might not
have been inscribed after A.D. 70, which was the destruction of Jerusalem. Perceiving that if it had
been so that Jude s Epistle was written after the destruction of... Show more content on

The book of Enoch is possibly one of the oldest books, for it is said, Enoch walked with God .
Enoch is also said to have preached to many, even angels! Nevertheless, even if Jude quoted from
Enoch s writings, he was just as the Paul who quoted from the verses of the Old Testament, and
to Peter who referred to some of the Epistles of Paul. Even if there so many similar scriptures
found in Jude and 2 Peter, it is just the Holy Spirit in both men. According to the style of writing of
the two apostles, it seems the churches or their audiences were going through the same hardships.
As mentioned above, they all had problems with false teachers, and Peter states that some would
fall away into accepting the doctrines of these men, and follow the pernicious ways of these men (2
Peter 2:2) . So, there is a possibility that their audiences were all facing the same difficulties and
hardships. It might have been that the two audiences needed the same encouragements, reproof,
warnings, correction, and

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Florence Kelley s Speech For...
Rhetorical Analysis Essay Florence Kelley, who was a former social worker, and successfully
fought for child labor laws, delivered a speech concerning the labor of children at that time.
Before the National American Women Suffrage Association, in Philadelphia on July 22, 1905
she talks about how child labor is wrong, and children shouldn t be doing the work of adults.
Kelley also explains the hours the children work, and how people (at that time) should stand up
for them. Kelley uses pathos, logos, and repetition to persuade the audience. In her speech the
one rhetorical device that stands out the most is pathos. Kelley makes the audience feel guilt
with the way she explains the children s experiences. ...Children under the age of 16 years old
who are earning their bread. In this example she makes it clear that no child should earn their
bread under no circumstances. Little beasts of burden, robbed of school life that they may work
for us. In this quote Kelley shows how the children, and their lives are affected by the work that
they are doing for the adults.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kelley states facts like there are 2 million children working under the age of 16. Mentioning this
in the speech, makes the adults feel worse about themselves because the kids are minors. She
also states how ...Alabama does better in this respect than any other southern state. Kelley also
states how North and South Carolina and Georgia place no restriction upon the work of children
at night. The last example of logos is Alabama limits the children s work at night to eight hours.
Stating this fact makes it seem like Alabama is doing the best out of all the states when in reality
8 hours of work for kids under the age of 16 is

The Great American Indian Novel By Sherman Alexie
Mahum Asif
The United States at one point decimated native people along with their identity and culture,
simultaneously, exploiting them as individuals. In the novel How to Write the Great American
Indian Novel , Sherman Alexie admonishes against toxic stereotypes held by white people against
native people thus, showing hegemonic structures of them. This is because the dominance of white
culture exploits people of other culture, race, identity and gender to acculturate to the white norms.
The novels junctions are informed through a lens of an American Indian to awake the ignorance on
stereotypical views for native people. The author draws attention not only to native people s beauty,

Alexie s imagery unravels the darkest secret from native people. All white women love Indian
men. That is always the case. White women feign disgust/at the savage in blue jeans and T shirt,
but secretly lust after him. The continuous concept of patriarchy that has been carried throughout
years make it difficult for even white women to escape their own gender because being a woman
means you will be controlled by men and escaping the chains of patriarchy seems unrealistic thus,
the cycle of this continues as the identity of the women fades because women are not seen as
humans. She will be swept away with their storms of patriarchy and will eventually demolish the
white woman s life while the men commit murders and become alcoholics. When the Indian man
unbuttons his pants, the white women should think of the topsoil. As the white women is ready to
sexually engage in the Indian men she forgets she belongs to the whites who give greater pleasure
simultaneously, becoming difficult for women to escape the ideology of men policing around
women and using them like objects to fulfill their desires. The obscure meaning of topsoil points
out the irony as the white people are on the topsoil as well as, superior. In the contrary, native
women are at the surface where life is destroyed. However, the dirt reaching the top soil effortlessly
illustrates the wrongs white men have done in the past and the

Altitude Sickness Essay
A perception of mountain people, who are often denigrated and ostracized for their dissimilarities
compared to the more modern civilizations, is that they lack cultural progressiveness and in most
cases are running backwards from the growing economic and social municipalities of the world. For
one thing, mountain people live in high altitudes that lack the necessary infrastructure for
development and most importantly, they live away from capitals and major cities. Therefore, they
are isolated from their capital s political and economic affairs. Due to this isolation, most mountain
people presume that their nation s government is a part of a separate entity that has no relation to
them. In other words, they believe that the government is selfish and doesn t care about their needs
for survival, therefore they must flourish on their own. Therefore, the mountain people adhere to

The one main aspect that connects the mountain people together, although many express cultural

India And The International Trade
1.1Background
Since gaining liberalization, India has been active in international trade, and is today one of the
major trading nations in the world. The Indian economy has been highly dependent on external
trade; presently, India s major trading partners were China, United Arab Emirates, United States,
Saudi Arabia Switzerland, Singapore and Germany.
As a shining, modern, and well developing country, India has been actively promoting trade
expansion and enhancement with all the European countries especially with Germany. In view of
this, India has been actively promoting bilateral trade to achieve this target by implementing
different strategy. One of them is by expanding trade relation with the European countries.

To date, the EU is India s largest trading partner, accounting for 20% of Indian trade. However
India accounts for only 1.8% of the EU s trade and attracts only 0.3% of European Foreign Direct
Investment, although still provides India s largest source for India (Bilateral Trade, n.d.).
Trade between the two has more than doubled from 25.6 billion euros ($36.7 billion) in 2000 to
55.6 billion euros in 2007, with further expansion to be seen (Bulls Eye, n.d.). According to a report
in 2010, India, at that time, was the eighth largest trading partner of the European Union, behind
China and Russia (India EU Relations, 2012).
Given the fact that India is in the process of facilitating the international trade with all over the
world. European and Asian countries seems to be the potential partners for trade exchange. At the
same time, several companies and organizations have been established in India over the last ten
years which have created more opportunities for both European and Indian companies to run their
business in the region. Furthermore, Germany trading policy also brings a good opportunity to
Indian economy and for the Indian export trading companies. As the trade relations between these
two countries are increasing, it will helpful to the Indian economy and its overall development and
growth. India shares their experiences and also can learn from Germany and become expertise in
bilateral trades. Besides that, trade

Reasons For Acquisition Or Merger Of The Airlines Essay
Reasons for Acquisition or Merger of the Airlines
1)Capitalization
In the Airline industry, most of the capital goes to its Aircrafts. Aircrafts cost several millions of
US Dollars. It can be purchased brand new but usually it is bought as reconditioned units. Purchase
can be through installment or through lease. Even if the Company wants to serve more air routes,
they are limited by the number and capacity of the Aircraft they have. The Airlineindustry is in stiff
competition due to the parallel competition in Tourism. That is why every Airline company is
compelled to always upgrade and increase their Aircrafts or they will be pushed out of the market.
If the company lacks capital and investors to do so, they will forced to either sell part of their
ownership or sell its total control to Bigger and more stable companies.
In this case, Asian Spirit which only started as an Airline Cooperative, had limited and small
aircrafts and cannot expand its services to International flights. That is why they needed an Investor
who can materialize such essential development. And thus came, Mr. Alfredo Yao through his
Holding Company, AMY Holdings Inc. which bought total control of Asian Spirit from its
founders. 2)Human Resource
It takes number of years of training before an Airline personnel can be certified to board on an
aircraft, from its Captain down to its service crew. The success or failure of any Airline company
lies in the hands of their personnel on board

A New Year Of Youth Group
To be honest, I had nervous expectations coming into a new year of youth group because I had
just gotten out of an unsuccessful summer romance with a fellow sponsor that I volunteer at TIC
with every week. However, my fears were unnecessary; the added expectations of this internship
helped me focus less on the awkwardness of the failed relationship and focus more on my youth
ministry efforts. When I was a freshman sponsor, there was a Dordt senior sponsor who interned
under the church and was paid by the church for her work. I always felt the shame of being under
my processor s shadow of high expectations because I feel like I m not good enough to have New
Life want to pay me. This may sound bad, but I actually had low expectations for my practicum
this semester. I didn t expect it to be much different from the volunteering that I had already been
doing with New Life for the past two years. I expected the general blanket statements of the goals
that all youth workers expect: being able to grow in my relationships with studentsin order to help
these teens grow in their relationship with God. If I ve learned anything from my experiences,
though, I ve learned that you can never really expect anything in youth ministry. The biggest
strength that I brought into the practicum was two years of prior experience with this youth
group, which gave me the advantage of already being familiar with most of the people I worked
with. I was given similar assignments and tasks by Ryan as

Tenochtitl Place In Mexico
Did you know that Tenochtitlan was a place in Mexico?
So was Popocatepetl and Ixtlaccihuatl. They were both during the Aztecs days also. Tenochtitlan
was doing really good with its irrigation system. The city was built in a huge valley which was
surrounded by mountains, and rivers also flowed from the mountains into lake Texcoco.
Popocatepetl and Ixtlaccihuatl were two mountains that were in Tenochtitlan.
In Tenochtitlan there was a least about 200,000 people that lived there at that time. Most of the
houses there was a one story and had a flat roof. People in Tenochtitlan traveled by canoes since
there was few roads. At one point of time Tenochtitlan reach it greatest, with about 1 million people

city grew, more land was used for farming and all that stuff. Tenochtitlan main crop was corn, and
farmers also grew tomatoes, beans, chili peppers, and prickly pears. Nobles houses was built like a
palace, and poor people houses was built on the Chiampa s.

Catholics Should Go To Mass Research Paper
What s one of the main actions of a religious person, regardless of either being Catholic,
Protestant, Jewish, or Baptist? Going to church, of course! However, there are some Catholics that
don t attend Holy Mass, which is the Catholic s version of church . Many Catholics and Christians,
over the years, have gradually declined to attend every Sunday Mass. Priests and clergy, as well as
the Catholic ChurchHerself, have tried to institute the importance of attending Mass every
Sunday. If only all of the unfaithful, Christians, and Catholics knew the value and importance of
our obligatory Sunday Mass, surely then they would live up to the obligation. Every Catholic,
devout or obscure, should be attending Mass every Sunday in order to follow God s law, to give
thanks for God s goodness, and to receive God s graces. For those who don t attend the Holy
Liturgy, it s important to acknowledge where and how God commands us to attend every Sunday.
In the Book of Exodus, after the release of the Israelites slavery in Egypt, Moses presented the Ten
Commandments on Mount Sinai to the Israelites. One of the commandments, the Third

Adorno And Allum Similarities And Differences
Outline the similarities and differences between the research studies of Adorno et al. (1950) and
Allum (2011) on personality types
Allum s research revealed correlations to Adorno s personality scales, rationalizing three
hypothesized studies. Allum (2011), cited in McAvoy (2017), (pp. 33 38), studies included
pseudoscience ideologies such as Astrology to foretell events in individual s life, as well lack
scientific literacy from participants of how Astrology and Astronomy were etymologically
classified. Allum similarly supported Adorno s notion that people with authoritarian personalities
were more likely to believe in superstition and pseudo sciences such as astrology, however, Allum
contrasting Adorno et al. s authoritarian personality type analysis, questioned the inclination of this
study s sample, assuming a more generalized view among populations, Allum (2011), (p. 362).
Adorno leaned heavily upon Freud, using a systematic formula to directly observe measurable
aspects of personality, exploring latent fascist predisposition to prejudice theorizing the structure of
personality research, Adorno (1950), (p. 53). To further interpret Freudian similarities in both

Summary Of Autumn Poem
That life flows on and the operation in the natural order continues is stressed here. The fame of

extended to eleven lines, is give en a more prolonged effect and is also shared by autumnwho
watches the last oozing hours by hours she is in time and bears the full load of agony inherent in
process, but she is also above time watching the ceaseless and yet unhurried movement on the
temporal plane. The first stanza is set in the morning hours, the second stanza is set in the
drowsy midday and the sun s diurnal course is completed in the final stanza. The last two lines
of second stanza convey the audible juicy noise of the sibilants which is very strong one and is
presented not simply with a visual image of the last oozing, but an audible one also. At the same
when this celebration of joys of autumn is taking place, we find in the ode indirect images of
ageing. The sun is maturing it is growing older, and so is autumn itself, as in the close bosom

Reflection On Micro Teaching
This essay will analyse and highlight on the fifteen minute micro teaching reflection that is vital for
the self evaluation and professional development of my teaching practice. It will further identify my
strengths and weaknesses through my peer assessment and reflect on the teaching and learning
theories, methods and strategies that are linked and practiced in my micro teach.
According to the teachers standards (DfE, 2012) teachers make the education of their learners their
first concern, keep their knowledge up to date and are self critical. Therefore, this reflection
practice will guide me towards the improvement on my lesson planning strategies and delivery. In
addition, it will also make an enormous difference in my teaching and learning practice which is
vital for teacher training.
One of the significant part of this course is micro teaching session, in this session we are
required to deliver fifteen minute planned lesson containing learning outcome. Furthermore, this
session was recorded and observed by the peers to evaluate. Due to my interest in ESOL I
decided to deliver my session on Boogle Puzzle to embed a simple literacy/numeracy activity
aims to target ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) learners. In this task, pupils are
given activity to make seven ten words in the English language from the word grid to improve
word recognition and spellings.
Based on reflection of my micro teaching I provided learners with the basic instructions on
Boggle puzzle and opted for potential instruction strategy. I used present, practice and produce
strategy (English language resource, 2017) to allow pupils to practice and learn new vocabulary
in co operative way. Similarly, I used co operative learning method to encourage pupils to learn
from each other and gain interpersonal skills. According to Johnson and Johnson (1995) co
operative learning method have proven effective in increasing motivation, self esteem and problem
solving. Thus, to enhance inter dependency, the class was divided into two main groups of fours
and were further divided into pairs, to finish their task. According to Mercer (1985) effective

Throughout the Fall and Spring semesters of 2015 and 2016, respectively, I actively participated,

of three experiences: (1) didactic learning in the classroom, (2) hands on learning with a plethora
of over the counter (OTC) products available in the laboratory, and (3) real world experiences
counseling customers in the aisles of Walgreens pharmacystores. The didactic learningallowed me
to expand my knowledgeof the variety of ailments individuals may encounter, as well as, the
appropriate OTC medications that can alleviate and/or prevent those ailments. I pieced together
how to recommend an appropriate treatment to a patient based on their characteristics and desires.
Furthermore, I can demonstrate and describe the strengths and weaknesses of the products
available. To further enhance my knowledge, the utilization of the products helped accentuate my
abilities to recommend them to customers. I am now able to describe how they taste, and
understand the simplicity or complexity of the utilization of different products, as well. The
conglomeration of this information allows me to personalize the recommendations I make to
customers based on their needs, characteristics and other important factors. Each additional factor

1). Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following
the birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the
birth of twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational.
Many mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the
other family members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important
coping resource for parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the
impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644). Social support can be defined as having one s needs met
through the presence and interaction with others, such as spouses, family members or friends
(Lutz et al. 644). Support from family members is more prominent in the lives of twins than in
single babies because not all mothers are willing or able to care for twins on their own.
Occasionally social support from family does not always give mothers proper bonding time with
each twin. This is because one twin is always handed off to another person while the other stays
with the mother. This again may have a negative impact on the bonding of child and mother during
the first year (Piontelli 79). With the right social support mothers and families can easily make it
through the first year of the twins lives and relieve the short term

Hospice And End Of Life Care
Hospice and End of Life Care
What is Hospice? Hospice is compassionate care provided to patients facing terminal illness or
illness for which there is no cure. These patients are diagnosed with an illness from which they
will never recover and usually have a life prognosis of six months or less (Hospice Foundation of
America, 2014). The goal of hospice care is improving quality of life and managing the
symptoms of disease and the dying process. The care hospice offers is focused on pain
management and emotional and spiritual support for both the patient and family (National
Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, 2012). Hospice care can be provided in many different
settings, often the patient s own home. Hospice care can also be provided in hospitals, nursing
homes, long term care facilities and free standing hospice centers and is available to patients of
all ages (NHPCO, 2012). A patient receiving care in a hospice program has a team of healthcare
individuals that can consist of the patients own physician, nurses, home health aides, clergy,
social workers, and speech and physical therapists (NHPCO, 2012). Usually, a care plan is
developed by the hospice team and care of the patient is provided by family members with the
support of the hospice staff (NHPCO, 2012). Nurses make regular visits to the patient and family
and are on call 24/7. Once enrolled in a hospice program hospice covers everything that will be

Jewish Occupation In Poland During Ww2
In the countryside s of Poland during the Occupation by Nazi Germany Jews were vulnerable
against both the German State and even their own State of Poland. The people who had
previously lived right next door to them, were now seen as potentially enemies. No matter the
location that Jews were at in Poland they were being watched. People of all backgrounds were
keeping a watch on any Jewsthat were living in their communities. Jewish citizens were on constant
alert because of reports coming from other towns of how Jews were being rounded up and either
killed on the spot, or taken to concentration camps. Through these events in and around the camps
ideologies and humanity were being challenged. Jews were a vulnerable group in Poland during this

more killing. This began to show how vulnerable the Jews were, they were going through not only
physical but mental stresses. Jews not only had to worry about Germanys shooting them, but also
other Jews from stopping them. And most of the Jews in these events still couldn t escape the
horrors of Nazi Germany and Polish assistors. Several hundred Jews were taken to the railroad

Dentist Gap Year Essay
The career that I am currently interested in researching about is Dentistry, specifically the career
path to become a general dentist. I am pursuing a bachelor of science in Kinesiology, with a minor
in Biological Sciences. This combination of courses allows me to take the prerequisites required to
apply to dental school. Before beginning the application process, I am required to take the Dental
Admission Test, a timed multiple choice exam conducted by the American Dental Association. I am
currently in my junior year and will take the DAT in August of 2017. Performing well on the
DAT is an important factor in the dental school application process and I plan to explore the
most effective, cost efficient way to study for the test. I also plan to explore the gap year I will
take before beginning dental school, along with the financial aspects of dental school and
owning a general practice. The first part of the research I plan to conduct is what it entails to get a
score that is above average on the DAT. My GPA is below the average and I need to score a 20 21
on the DAT in order increase my chance of acceptance. Although I am familiar with each of the

The Importance Of Censorship In Music
Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed
for what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide
between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no
surprise there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that
so much happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped
intensify the differences between society.
Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called
the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988,
pp.295 296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the
leading people such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that
there was outrage over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan
(KKK) who was a radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they
were poisoning the youth. This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any
form of rock and roll. Race played its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock
music was seen as a major starting point for censorship since it caused such a major divide
between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988, p.297). In today s society, I believe that genres of

Anti Nazi, Black Separatist, And White Nationalist
In our world today, it is unfortunate that people are using their hate as motivation to do immoral
actions towards other innocent victims. In 2014, information was recorded by the Southern Poverty
Law Center that there were around 784 active hate groups in the United States (Brunker par.4). A
hate group is defined as a collection of people that promotes and performs aggressive actions
towards members of a race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and many more characteristics. Ku
Klux Klan, Neo Nazi, Black Separatist, and White Nationalist are all examples of hate groups and
are still currently active today. Hate groups are usually involved in hate crimes which is any

Referring to the FBI s data in 2013, it reveals that about 48.5% of all reports that were classified
as hate crimes were motivated by race (Brunker par.9). Racial attacks usually involve
intimidation, vandalism, and assault to the opposite race (Crime Museum par.4). However
according to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports the average amount of hate crimes between races
has declined progressively (Brunker par.15). Unfortunately, hate groups are still a huge problem
in today s society, but the government is reacting in a more serious matter against these events
Although a hate crime is not a federal offense, the government can and does investigate crimes
that might be related to civil rights violations (FBI par.4). A civil rights violation is under the
federal jurisdiction so this gives the government full rights of investigation in a case. The
government has also passed new laws to help maintain and prevent hate groups from acting out. In
2009, the passage of a new law the first significant expansion of federal criminal civil rights law
since the mid 1990s gave the federal government the authority to prosecute violent hate crimes,
including violence and attempted violence directed at the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
community, to the fullest extent of its jurisdiction (FBI par.5) . The National Gay and Lesbian Task
force has been fighting against discrimination for a period of time now; they also

Human Justice In 12 Angry Men
12 Angry Men is is about 12 selected people who have to run a juror sentence for a man who has
been convicted about killing his father. It starts off in the courtroom where the 12 members
hear the mans statement. After this is done, they all make their way into the room where they
discuss. What makes this story so interesting, is the fact that all 12 people are complete
opposites off each other. This also ties in the conflict of the story, is that no one can all agree on
the same claim. Fights break out and people get angry at each other. In the story 12 Angry men,
it shows people can always second chance their first opinion. By having a little argument over
something or discussing something, it can influence props decisions. For example, this happened
when a certain juror kept changing his vote constantly, after hearing everyone s claim. 12 Angry
Men shows that human nature and personal experience can influence the effect on justice. To
start it off, we have juror number 2. Juror number 2 is a very hesitant man who doesn t have an
opinion on his own. He is very quiet and doesn t have much to say. During the story he constantly
kept changing his mind whenever the last person spoke. Well, sure, I ve heard of it. I know what
it is. I . . . what I meant . . . well, anyway, I think he was guilty. (Juror 2) This quote is the juror
thinking he was guilty in the beginning but later on he changes his mind. His past experiences have

Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED)
This paper explores Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), a disorder categorized by the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM 5) as an impulse
control disorder. To understand this disorder research was collected on predisposing factors that
make an individual more vulnerable to IED. Research was also collected on precipitating and
perpetuating factors to explore what factors trigger the disorder and subsequently prolong the
symptoms. Finally, research was collected on how the disorder is diagnosed and current treatment
options for individuals diagnosed with IED.

The optimal goal of treatment for patients with IED is remission, which is the resolution of
symptoms or improvement to the point where only one or two symptoms of mild intensity persist.
If that goal is unattainable a practical goal is stabilizing the safety of the patient and others as well
as substantially improving the number, intensity, and frequency of symptoms. To achieve these
treatment goals studies have shown the best treatment is a combination of medication and
psychotherapy (Alpert Spillmann, 1997). The use of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor
(SSRI) Fluoxetine has shown moderate to large improvement in the reduction of impulsive
aggressive behavior. The goal of the Fluoxetine is to balance out the altered serotonin levels that
are commonly altered in individuals with IED (Coccaro, M.D., 2012). In addition to medication
cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to reduce impulsive aggression, anger, and hostile
automatic thoughts. The therapies used include relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, and
coping skills training. The rates of full remission from IED were 29% with fluoxetine alone and
33% from cognitive behavioral therapy alone. When combined the treatments are more effective
for sustained remission because they work through different mechanisms (Coccaro, M.D., 2012).
Studies have shown that IED symptoms precede the onset of other comorbid disorders and are
persistent and follow a chronic course of at least 12 years. Intervention at an early age is most
effective before development of comorbid disorders (Coccaro, M.D.,

My Favorite City Essay
Imagine waking up early in the morning, getting in the car, and driving for a couple of hours to
your favorite city to visit. It is an immensely great feeling that occurs once you reach it. We all
have our favorite places to visit. What makes your favorite city so great? All of the best cities in
Michigan should have certain characteristics to be considered the best.
Most favorable cities in Michigan all have the quality of a dedicated lighthouse and pier. For
example, in the city of Port Austin, Michigan there is a towering lighthouse at the end of a long
pier that stretches out into Lake Huron. It is a tremendous feeling walking for a couple of
minutes and reaching the end of the pier. The feeling is quite breathtaking to look at the clear blue
water with a snappy breeze blowing. The whole experience of walking for a couple of minutes to
make it to the lighthouse is why Port Austin is such a fantastic destination. Another example of an
outstanding city with a lighthouse is Charlevoix, Michigan. Charlevoix is up north near the top of
the mitten. There is a small lighthouse on a small pier that opens the sizable Lake Charlevoix into
Lake Michigan. One of the best things to do in the summer is jumping off of the Charlevoix
lighthouse pier into the crisp water of lake Michigan. The water is so clear and blue and feels so
refreshing on a hot summer day. Seeing the boats go through the channel and sitting by the water is
why I continue to go back to Charlevoix. A final example

Antarctica Ice Sheet Trends
The ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland are changing rapidly and are contributing significantly
to sea level rise (Church et al., 2011). In Greenland, surface melt leading to runoff and enhanced ice
discharge from outlet glaciers have contributed in equal amount to the mass loss of the ice sheet
(van den Broeke et al., 2009). In Antarctica, ice dynamics has been the dominant contributor to the
mass loss in recent decades, but surface mass balance signal exhibits inter annual fluctuations large
enough to significantly modulate the mass loss. In the mountain glaciers of Alaska, Canada,
Patagonia and others, surface mass balance (SMB) processes dominate the total mass balance
(Larsen et al., 2015). Projecting the contribution of ice sheets... Show more content on

altimetry record started with the Airborne Topographic Mapper (Krabill et al., 2012) (1993
present), ERS 1/ENVISAT (1992 present) and continued with Cryosat 2 (2010 ). As a secondary
objective, OIB provides observations of variables critical to the interpretation of the altimetry
record, including: ice thickness from the Multichannel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder
(MCoRDS) (Leuschen et al., 2016), snow accumulation and firn structure from accumulation
and snow radars (Leuschen, 2015; Leuschen et al., 2016), surface topography from Digital

magnetics using Sanders Geophys. Ltd s AIRGrav (Cochran et al. 2016; Tinto et al., 2011; Tinto
et al., 2014). As a result of these efforts since OIB inception in 2009, we have obtained
continuous time series of altimetry observations over Greenland and select sectors of Antarctica
(e.g. Krabill, 2016; Blair et al., 2015; Csatho et al., 2015), a quantum leap in our knowledge of ice

Analysis Of The Closing Of A Facility Essay
Background Martin, Bartol and Kehoe (2000) relay that the rapidly changing business
environment, which includes reorganization, acquisitions and mergers between companies, has
been the impetus for many layoffs of employees due to downsizing, which in turn can cause
legal issues for the company if not handled appropriately. The recent merger between Davis
Manufacturing and Bartlund Technologies present such a scenario when the necessity for more
efficient operations calls for the closing of a facility in San Jose, CA along with the reduction of
that facilities staff by 20%, before relocating the rest. Karen Howell, the division manager, will
work with the area managers to determine the employees designated to be dismissed using
performance appraisals as the basis for terminations. When ascertaining the employees to be
terminated, the dismissal criteria must be clear, consistent and fair in order to avoid legal
consequences (Gomez Mejia, Balkin, Cardy, 2016). These authors espouse the most frequently
used criteria is either seniority or employee performance, or a combination of both, with each
method having advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantages relayed for using seniority is the
loss of superior performers and protected class members. For this reason, Gomez Mejia et al.
(2016) believe performance appraisals are the most proficient method to retain the best employees,
but they also pose greater legal risks if not properly documented. What should Howell do? How

The Walt Disney Company, home to Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other iconic characters,

The company s parks and resorts division operates theme parks in five global locations, including a
recent $1.8 billion park in Hong Kong. Disney s fabled studio entertainment unit has an illustrious

Disney s other divisions are also pursuing a more localized approach in key emerging markets. As
Jason Reed, general manager for Walt Disney Studios International Productions, noted, We ve been
very successful with our big global productions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and National
Treasure. But we think there s a natural way to supplement these films in areas like China, Russia,
and India areas that have built in film traditions.
For example, in India Disney is abandoning its go it alone policy and partnering with local
companies such as Yash Raj Films. One new Hindi language show, Dhoom Machaao Dhoom,
concerns a girl s quest for identity after living in the United States; another show, Vicky and
Vetal, concerns a boy s friendship with a 300 year old ghost. The new approach is clearly paying
off. In 2008, Disney released Roadside Romeo, its first animated feature developed specifically for
India. The film was box office gold, with the best opening weekend of any Disney feature in India.
Disney is hoping to appeal to India s family oriented middle class consumers; core themes include
believe in yourself, express yourself, and celebrate your family. Because the number of cable
television subscribers is increasingly rapidly, Disney launched the Disney Channel and Toon
Disney. In addition, the company acquired Hugama, a children s channel. Disney is also making

Essay On Gettysburg Artillery
Gettysburg Artillery
The battle of Gettysburg had a direct influence on the future of the United States Army Artillery by
changing the artillery brigade structure, battery positioning, and the most concentrated use of an
artillery attack in history. Changes like how artillery transforms into a support unit from support by
fires to infantry and cavalry. The battle also developed the lethality of tactical positioning of cannon
batteries. Artillery as a whole was a major impact onto this military conflict by providing a
decimating direct fire barrage for multiple hours. Before the Battle of Gettysburg, artillery was
deployed as its own combat regiment. The use of cannon batteries was still used as a support
element to other forces, but was not mobilized as simple as it is today. Infantry and cavalry
regiments would go into battle with various artillery regiments that they may have not trained with
previously and may not be up to par with unit standards of precision. This was the biggest weakness
for the Union Army under General Meade. His cannon batteries were well supplied with plenty of
ammunition and stock cannons to crossover ammunition to other cannon batteries. The
Confederate army under General Lee on the other hand had the advantage with a more structured
combat regiment to provide a more lethal support to units assigned to the same regiment.
Confederate forces started training with their own assigned artillery battalions to know exactly how
they operate in

Would you like to make enough money to be able to do leisure activities as you please? Do you want to be able to support a family someday? All of this requires getting a higher education and attending college. The already high and rising cost of tuition makes affording collegeextremely difficult for most people. Could you imagine moving back in with your parents at the age of 24 or 25 or maybe even closer to your thirties? • 5. Theme Of Nature In To Build A Fire This is a famous short story by Jack London, which takes on a familiar theme, man vs nature. The man is traveling by foot with his dog through the Yukon trail, on the way to a camp on Henderson Creek. This man story is told from the third person omniscient point of view. At no point is the story told from the dog s perspective. That means that the narrator knows the thoughts, actions, and feelings of all the characters; in this case, To Build a Fire the narrator s characters are the unnamed man and the dog who accompanies him. London description of this man and his surrounding gives the readers a visual image of how the Alaskan wilderness looks like. It was cold freezing and cold. The man s struggles to last in the bitter cold illustrate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the man is freezing form the cold and getting frostbite, he is still trying to fight the harsh weather The Abundance of stupidity and pride are personified in the story s protagonist. For example, he goes through the extremely cold area alone, despite going for the first time. This presumption results in the protagonist putting himself in a bad situation that was completely preventable. At first, he thinks nothing will happen and everything will be okay. By the end of the story, he is dead as a result of his arrogance. Jack London illustrates the element of arrogance when the main character ignores the possibility that there may be situations he cannot overcome. Coming of death is another theme in the story; more specifically the peace that can be found in death. Jack London foreshadows that the man will die in the story. Foreshadowing meaning that the author is hinting what will be coming up later on in the story, which keeps the readers attentively reading because they are curious about what will ... Entrepreneur has worn many faces and played many roles. Most policy makers and academics agree that entrepreneurship is critical to the development and well being of society. They create jobs, drive and shape the innovation, speeding up the structural changes in the economy. They are usually modeled as combinations of innovators with creative and innovative flair and managers with general management skills. According to the Richard Cantillon (1680 1734), entrepreneur is risk taker who has the foresight and willingness to assume risk and take the require action to make profit or loss. His entrepreneur is kind of forward looking and risk taking. Risks were distinguished by Frank Knight (1885 1972) as capable of being measured and un measurable. According to Knight, entrepreneur takes the latter risk which is no objective measure of probability of gain or loss. According to Burke (2006), entrepreneur can be defined as a person who habitually creates and innovates to build something of recognized value around perceived opportunities. Joseph Schumpeter (1883 1950) said that entrepreneur is innovator who is the central figure in advancing the wealth of nations and creating dynamics disequilibrium in the global economy. At the beginning of the play, Walter is very ambitious and wants more out of his life. He says, I got me a dream (pg 33). He is motivated own the liquor store and to succeed. His first change in character happens when Mama refuses to help pay for the liquor store and his wife has another bun in the oven. His needs moved and he wound up plainly discouraged, going out, drinking too much alcohol, and missing shifts. His point of view changed again when Mama gave him some cash from the check and let him know, I m telling you to be the head of this family from now on like you supposed to be (pg 107). From that moment on Walter became more responsible, loving, and took on a leadership position in his family. This change was apparent when his dreams returned while talking to Travis about driving a, plain black Chrysler (pg 108). Walters change in his perspective of life demonstrates that he is a dynamic, round character. Beneatha Beneatha is a round, dynamic character that evolves throughout the play. She comprehends herself and her general public better toward the finish of the play than toward the start. She learns to deal with the failures of the people around her. She learns that her views on African culture are based on her personal experiences not on a wholly African one. She also discovers that there are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Taking a Look at Shyness Have you felt awkward, worried or even tense during social encounters? Do you feel these emotions around people you are unfamiliar with? If so, you have probably encountered what it feels like to be shy. Some will occasionally feel shy and others may be severely shy when interacting with others, in which they can feel themselves start to blush, sweat, and have an upset stomach. The person may also begin to feel a sense of negativity about them or even become withdrawn from interacting with others ( American Psychological Association ). Interacting with others on a day to day basis is life, and the shyer the person is, the more inhibited and reluctant they are to approach others. Shynesscan be defined as the discomfort or inhibition in situations that can interfere with pursuing a person s interpersonal or professional goals. The feelingof shyness can be generated by a wide variety of cues such as one on one opposite sex interactions, intimacy, unfamiliarity of others, and having to take individual action in groups (Henderson Zimbardo, 2008). Reacting to new and unfamiliar situations can bring out shy feelings, a new job, and public speaking at an assembly or for a class, dating someone new or the first day of school are situations in which a person could feel shy. The greater the feeling of not knowing how to react or what to say will result in a greater feeling of shyness. Before the war most of the workers were males. When the war broke out most of the males had to leave their jobs and go fight in the war. This meant that there were many jobs openings for those who did not have a good job or were not working in the industry they wanted to be in. Women were told it was their patriotic duty to step up and start working. The number of employed women increased to 19 million during the period of war (732). The jobs women were working included everything from operating heavy machinery to driving to taxis and to being nurses helping with the war effort. Women having to work changed the lifestyle of children. Before the war the women usually stayed home to help take care and provide for the children, this changed during the war. The Palette of Narmer is interesting because it is the oldest historic work of art that names a person, and is the earliest piece of art that uses hieroglyph. Many scholars believe that palettes decorated with animals, birds, and human figures had some sort of ceremonial function. On the palette, Narmer s name appears in pictographs a horizontal fish translated Nar and a vertical chisel translated Mer. These hieroglyphs appear three times on this piece of art. The king appears as the main character in various scenes on both sides of the palette, he also appears in hierachical proportion representing the status of individuals in a highly stratified society. The significance of the ruler appearing larger than other human figures indicates importance and divine status. On one side of the palette Narmer appears with the White Crown of Upper Egypt signifying that it has been tamed. On the opposite side he wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt signifying that it also had been tamed. These images amongst other images of conquest proclaim him to be the great unifier, protector, and leader of the Egyptian people. It stands at a height of five feet ten inches, and is recognized by the statues archaic smile, well developed massive body, quick stride, and expressive power. • 14. Comparison Of Fashion In The 1960 s Trends today, are hardly ever completely new. More often than we may notice, we recycle trends and styles and then add our own modern turns. Even though fashion and style in today s pop culture is about individuality; we share several similarities with the fashion scene of the 1960 s. Fashion took a everlasting turn in the 1960 s and some of our most iconic looks come from the decade. Even though the 60 s are best known as the decade for crazy experimentation; when it came to the world of fashion, there was a bit of slow change. As the decade began nothing revolutionary had sparked from the previous years. The decade started off with classical, conservative and restrained styles. Rolling into the mid 60 s, looks became more long, slender and colors brightened, albeit still subtle. The British Invasion hit and for the first time in decades London became the fashion capital of the world, not Paris. It wasn t until the late 60 s struck that the fashion world exploded. Bright, swirling colors, psychedelic tie dies, long hair and beards were all the rage. Clothing became sleek and modern; the term of unisex also came about as women s clothes became more masculine and men s clothing in turn more feminine. (RetroWaste) For women, fashion in the beginning of the 60 s hadn t changed much from the 50 s. There was also hints of styles from the 1920 s and 1930 s. • 15. I Stand Here Ironing What do Betty from Pleasantville, June from Leave it to Beaver, and Donna Reed from The Donna Reed Show all have in common? They all represent the image of the perfect housewife in the 1950s. They represent women who gladly cooked, cleaned, dressed in pearls and wore high heals while waiting for their all knowing husbands to come home. They represent women who can only find fulfillment in male domination and nurturing maternal love. Tillie Olsen, as a single motherwith four children (204), provides readers with another view of women. Through the representation of the narrator in I Stand Here Ironing, Olsen contradicts the image of the 50s ideal woman, a happy housewife and a perfect mother. This story begins with a request for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was a single mother during Emily s initial years. Thus, instead of being able to spend time and play with her 8 month old daughter, the narrator had to go out to look for a job as well as Emily s missing father (199). She defied the image of a typical housewife. Instead of staying home to cook, clean, and take care of her children, the narrator had to go out and get a job. The narrator also made some clear mistakes in the raising of Emily. Due to circumstances that were somewhat beyond her control, the narrator was not able to be particularly maternal with Emily. The narrator had to leave Emily with Emily s father s family until she could raise enough money. However this ended up taking a long time. The narrator states that when she finally came, I hardly knew her, walking quick and nervous like her father, looking like her father, thin, and dressed in a shoddy red that yellowed her skin and glared at the pockmarks. All the baby loveliness gone (199). This statement shows that the narrator missed the crucial early years of her daughter s life. She no longer felt that strong, ready connection that a mother feels with a child. She hardly knew her daughter. The narrator was not a very maternally loving mother to Emily. But what is predictive prophecy? Unlike the assumptions of some, not all prophecy foretells the future (Jackson, Principles of Bible Prophecy). It was frequently the case that prophets would forthtell past or present events (Jackson). For a prophecyto qualify as predictive, it must meet certain qualifications. First, the prophecy must be uttered significantly earlier than its fulfillment (Jackson). Second, the prophecy must contain specific details, not guesswork (Jackson). And third, the prophecy must be exactly fulfilled (Jackson). Geisler adds that legitimate predictive prophecies must contain unusual events that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Daniel addresses these four kingdoms elsewhere in his work, and the traditional identification of the four kingdoms is clear from a proper interpretation of those texts (Dan. 7:2 8, 17; 8:3 8, 20 22; Archer, A Survey of Old Testament Introduction, 376 78). Furthermore, Daniel does not distinguish between the Median and Persian kingdoms (McDowell 22). His inspired interpretation of the handwriting on the wall depicts the Persians, not the Medians, as the conquerors of Babylon (Dan. 5:28; McDowell 23). Even if Daniel was written in the second century B.C., some of his prophecies are still predictive since Rome was not a significant world power and Christ s kingdom was not yet established (Geisler 179; McDowell 24 25). Therefore, no logical reason exists to reject the predictive element of Daniel s four kingdom prophecy. Another example of Daniel s predictive element comes from the prophecies of the Grecian empire (Dan. 8:3 8, 20 22; 11:3 4). A sixth century B.C. date for Daniel places him approximately 200 years or more before Alexander the Great began his conquests (Elwell 1: 50). The former prophecy accurately depicts Alexander s victory over the Persian Empire between B.C. 334 to 331 (Walton 554). The latter prophecy vividly describes the partitioning of Alexander s mighty empire after his death (554, 560). The church is in decline and turmoil for many reasons (lack of time or interest, aversion to authority, dislike of evangelical Christian morals, avoidance of the term religious ) but Celtic Spirituality, which has existed for centuries, still speaks. This form of spirituality is valid and should be valued in today s world because the tradition s principles can support society s current theological challenges. Books written by preeminent Celtic spiritualists John O Donohue and John Philip Newell highlight these core values: friendship, love, beauty, silence and solitude, mystery, and interconnection between all of creation/the cosmos and the divine. • 19. Jealousy In John Knowles A Separate Peace Jealousy is an emotion very evident in our society. We often compare ourselves to others, noticing what they have that we do not, most commonly in terms of money or looks. Even those close to us spark our jealousy, maybe a friend or sibling; although most wouldn t admit the fact. Author John Knowles touches on this subject in his first published novel A Separate Peace. Through the voice of Gene, Knowles uses figurative language in a self deprecating tone to show jealousy, as evident in the passage, The second wave, as it tore toward the beach with me, spewed me a little ahead of it, encroaching rapidly; suddenly it was immeasurably bigger than I was, it rushed me from the control of gravity and took control of me itself; the wave threw me ... The Causes Of The Soviet Union The Soviet Union [8], officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR[9], Russian: РЎРЎРЎР ) also known unofficially as Russia[10][11], was a socialist state in Eurasia that existed from 1922 to 1991. Nominally a union of multiple equal national Soviet republics,[a] its government and economy were highly centralized. The country was a one party state, governed by the Communist Party with Moscow as its capital in its largest republic, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Soviet war casualties accounted for the highest proportion of the conflict in the effort of acquiring the upper hand over Axis forces at intense battles such as Stalingrad and Kursk. The territories overtaken by the Red Army became satellite states of the USSR; the postwar division of Europe into capitalist and communist halves would lead to increased tensions with the West, led by the United States. • 21. The Eruption Of Mount Vesuvius Introduction The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD was a pyroclastic event discussed in greater detail over the course of this essay. Mount Vesuvius is located on the southern coast of Italy, 1,281 metres above the Bay of Naples on the plain of Campania between the Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Mount Vesuviusis part of the Romana volcanic belt which covers about 450km from Mount Amatia, 130km from north west Rome and 110km from East Naples. The Romana volcanic belt is made up of two parallel volcanic scars. Mount Vesuvius is on the Western arc. This zone is highly fractured which allows magma to rise up into the magma chamber beneath Mount Vesuvius. This chamber is thought to be approximately 5km below the volcano and almost 2km high with a diameter of around 1km. The volcano is situated where two faults in the Earth s crust converge. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002) Development of Mount Vesuvius Mount Vesuvius developed inside the caldera of an older volcano. This volcano was known as Monte Somma. Monte Somma became active around 400,000 years ago. Only the northern side of Monte Somma is left, creating a wall like ridge around the northern edge of Mount Vesuvius. This feature can be observed today at the site of Mount Vesuvius. The development of Vesuvius produced a volcanic complex consisting of the two volcanoes. My essay will attempt to show the similarities that are in these two writings which seem to have been scribed at the same time or around the same time. Most similarities, of which are namely: the dates of the scribing of the two Epistles, the false doctrines of the false teachers that had come into the church, the same thoughts and expressions of their work, whether the writings are apostolic or not, and what hardships the churches or the two audiences were facing. The Epistle of Jude has been said to be inscribed very late, but it might not have been inscribed after A.D. 70, which was the destruction of Jerusalem. Even if there so many similar scriptures found in Jude and 2 Peter, it is just the Holy Spirit in both men. According to the style of writing of the two apostles, it seems the churches or their audiences were going through the same hardships. As mentioned above, they all had problems with false teachers, and Peter states that some would fall away into accepting the doctrines of these men, and follow the pernicious ways of these men (2 Peter 2:2) . So, there is a possibility that their audiences were all facing the same difficulties and hardships. Rhetorical Analysis Essay Florence Kelley, who was a former social worker, and successfully fought for child labor laws, delivered a speech concerning the labor of children at that time. Before the National American Women Suffrage Association, in Philadelphia on July 22, 1905 she talks about how child labor is wrong, and children shouldn t be doing the work of adults. Kelley also explains the hours the children work, and how people (at that time) should stand up for them. Kelley uses pathos, logos, and repetition to persuade the audience. In her speech the one rhetorical device that stands out the most is pathos. Kelley makes the audience feel guilt with the way she explains the children s experiences. ...Children under the age of 16 years old who are earning their bread. In this example she makes it clear that no child should earn their bread under no circumstances. Little beasts of burden, robbed of school life that they may work for us. White women feign disgust/at the savage in blue jeans and T shirt, but secretly lust after him. Altitude Sickness Essay A perception of mountain people, who are often denigrated and ostracized for their dissimilarities compared to the more modern civilizations, is that they lack cultural progressiveness and in most cases are running backwards from the growing economic and social municipalities of the world. For one thing, mountain people live in high altitudes that lack the necessary infrastructure for development and most importantly, they live away from capitals and major cities. Therefore, they are isolated from their capital s political and economic affairs. Due to this isolation, most mountain people presume that their nation s government is a part of a separate entity that has no relation to them. Going to church, of course! However, there are some Catholics that don t attend Holy Mass, which is the Catholic s version of church . Many Catholics and Christians, over the years, have gradually declined to attend every Sunday Mass. (1950) and Allum (2011) on personality types Allum s research revealed correlations to Adorno s personality scales, rationalizing three hypothesized studies. Allum (2011), cited in McAvoy (2017), (pp. 33 38), studies included pseudoscience ideologies such as Astrology to foretell events in individual s life, as well lack scientific literacy from participants of how Astrology and Astronomy were etymologically classified. Adorno leaned heavily upon Freud, using a systematic formula to directly observe measurable aspects of personality, exploring latent fascist predisposition to prejudice theorizing the structure of personality research, Adorno (1950), (p. 53). To further interpret Freudian similarities in both researcher s work, in this essay, the reader will notice Adorno and Allum put in question the forces of personality; its processes, how they were organized, and similar report methods used. Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following the birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the birth of twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational. Many mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the other family members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important coping resource for parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644). Social support can be defined as having one s needs met through the presence and interaction with others, such as spouses, family members or friends (Lutz et al. 644). Support from family members is more prominent in the lives of twins than in single babies because not all mothers are willing or able to care for twins on their own. Occasionally social support from family does not always give mothers proper bonding time with each twin. This is because one twin is always handed off to another person while the other stays with the mother. Battle Of Britain Analysis Trench Kids After evaluating the image called Battle of Britain, many could conclude that the children were intrigued by what was going on around them while they were in the center of the war, and that each child was innocent yet greatly affected by the aftermath of the war. All in all, this image portrays the struggles the children faced trying to understand what was going on around them, living in a world surrounded by war and violence, and how it affected the people who lived in Britain during this hard time, especially the young children of Britain. They were placed into a trench to keep them safe, but how safe could they really have been? They were in street clothes and had no protection otherwise. I also found it neat that they were able to capture black and white images during the war. The color of the picture can add an ominous feeling, the dark colors portray how it was a dark time filled with many deaths and tragedies. This picture and other ones similar to it provided good information on what it was like during that time in history. • 45. The Importance Of Censorship In Music Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed for what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no surprise there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that so much happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped intensify the differences between society. Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988, pp.295 296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the leading people such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that there was outrage over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) who was a radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they were poisoning the youth. This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any form of rock and roll. Race played its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock music was seen as a major starting point for censorship since it caused such a major divide between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988, p.297). However according to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports the average amount of hate crimes between races has declined progressively (Brunker par.15). The optimal goal of treatment for patients with IED is remission, which is the resolution of symptoms or improvement to the point where only one or two symptoms of mild intensity persist. If that goal is unattainable a practical goal is stabilizing the safety of the patient and others as well as substantially improving the number, intensity, and frequency of symptoms. To achieve these treatment goals studies have shown the best treatment is a combination of medication and psychotherapy (Alpert Spillmann, 1997). The use of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) Fluoxetine has shown moderate to large improvement in the reduction of impulsive aggressive behavior. The goal of the Fluoxetine is to balance out the altered serotonin levels that are commonly altered in individuals with IED (Coccaro, M.D., 2012). In addition to medication cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to reduce impulsive aggression, anger, and hostile automatic thoughts. The therapies used include relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, and coping skills training. The rates of full remission from IED were 29% with fluoxetine alone and 33% from cognitive behavioral therapy alone. When combined the treatments are more effective for sustained remission because they work through different mechanisms (Coccaro, M.D., 2012). It is an immensely great feeling that occurs once you reach it. We all have our favorite places to visit. What makes your favorite city so great? All of the best cities in Michigan should have certain characteristics to be considered the best. Most favorable cities in Michigan all have the quality of a dedicated lighthouse and pier. The recent merger between Davis Manufacturing and Bartlund Technologies present such a scenario when the necessity for more efficient operations calls for the closing of a facility in San Jose, CA along with the reduction of that facilities staff by 20%, before relocating the rest. Essay On Gettysburg Artillery Gettysburg Artillery The battle of Gettysburg had a direct influence on the future of the United States Army Artillery by changing the artillery brigade structure, battery positioning, and the most concentrated use of an artillery attack in history. Changes like how artillery transforms into a support unit from support by fires to infantry and cavalry. The battle also developed the lethality of tactical positioning of cannon batteries. Artillery as a whole was a major impact onto this military conflict by providing a decimating direct fire barrage for multiple hours. Before the Battle of Gettysburg, artillery was deployed as its own combat regiment. The use of cannon batteries was still used as a support element to other forces, but was not mobilized as simple as it is today. Infantry and cavalry regiments would go into battle with various artillery regiments that they may have not trained with previously and may not be up to par with unit standards of precision. This was the biggest weakness for the Union Army under General Meade. His cannon batteries were well supplied with plenty of ammunition and stock cannons to crossover ammunition to other cannon batteries. The Confederate army under General Lee on the other hand had the advantage with a more structured combat regiment to provide a more lethal support to units assigned to the same regiment.
