Mind Map
Video game
2D simple phone game
• A simple concept of the game
that’s easy to understand.
• The graphics would be unique to
the game that it is and will be
pixilated.
• It will follow a track and wont give
the option to move outside of a
specific place.
• You will be able to use different
playable characters.
• You will have the ability to activate
boosters to help with the game
• You will be able skip levels with a
special card.
• It will use the colour scheme of
blue for the water, green for the
grass and grey for the roads.
• I would use the background to
move as if the character was
moving forward.
• It would include supply packages.
• Aimed at people board and
wanting something to do so they
can play the game.
• Should visually look good.
2D arcade game
• it will follow a structure of a classic
arcade game.
• The graphics would be simple and to
use.
• The colour scheme will include a plain
black mist for space with glowing stars
which will be a white yellow colour for
the sun as well.
• It will be like the idea of space invaders
but with some changes and in total it
would focus as a space game with
space scenery, such as nebulas and
black holes etc…
• Using the idea of space pong is a option
that I have just with a bit more to it and
some added extras.
• If the idea of the pong game is used it
wouldn’t be as simple and it would be
made harder and be given more of an
atmosphere.
• It would have the option to add in
extras and change the colour of the
ball.
• The option to change character would
be available to select from different
extras.
2D first person shooter
• It will follow a colour scheme of dark colours
such as grey and brown for the roads and
buildings that it will have as well as green trees
and the character will be a stickman which will
be plain black.
• The game will be pixilated in graphics.
• It will follow a 2D zombie survival call of duty
type game with different weapons to select
from.
• The weapons that you will be able to get will be
at the tart of the game rather that then pick ups
dure in the game like call of duty zombies and
grand theft auto deathmatches.
• there will be perks available in the game itself
from a special location.
• Zombies would be difficult to kill and would have
a lot of health.
• There will be a health bar in the corner or the
screen at the top right and there will be health
pick ups around the map.
• There will only be an option of one map to play
on.
• It will be an arcade style game but more modern
and include more options of what to do.
• You will be able to rank up and the rank will be
visible at top left corner.
Mind Map
2D Arcade Game
Scenery How the game will play Customizations
• Main background: space, planets in the
background and shining stars as well as a sun.
• It will include different stars moving at speed
in the background of the game.
• There will be shooting stars flying across the
back of the screen while the game is being
played.
• It will have a black hole in the background
which will be moving constantly in the
background to add to affect.
• There will be a ring that also might move in
the background.
• The game will be simple to play and will
follow the basic controls of a typical
arcade game with one main joystick and 2
additional buttons one will jump the other
will shoot and there will be ne more
button that you can press, which will
pause the game and take it to the main
menu.
• The game sensitivity will be optional and
changeable dependent on what you want
to play with and the 1 joystick will control
all movement around the game. Left right
up down all will be controlled through the
one joystick.
• The game will have different
customization options which will allow
you to change the different ball on the
game and choose to change it to
different options.
• There will also be an option to change
the scenery customization.
• all the scenery will be optional to
change from the main menu but will
need to be unlocked through playing the
game, this will be shown I the
advergame.
• You will be able to customize the way
that the scoring and time limit is set out
through the options menu.Colour options
• The Colour scheme will focus around space the
sun will be a shinny white and the planets and
and nebulas will be different colours exploring
multiple different ideas so that they are able to
stand out.
• The stars and other scenery will move down as
the game that’s been played moves up to add to
the effect that its moving while the game is
playing.
How the scoring system works
• The game will be scored on how many times
the ball/object is hit back and forth against
yourself or the computer depending on what
type of game I go for but it will count the
amount of times you hit the ball/object in 1s and
will be able to record a high score.
• In the game if you miss the object the game
stops and comes up with game over but will
record each score that you get while playing it
each time you play it.
The menu screen
• The menu screen will have the option to
check score from previous games and start
the game and exit the game, as well as the
option for customizations to the
background, the planet/object and the
objects/ barriers that you hit it back with
dependent on what you unlock in the
game.
Mood Board
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
There is repetition in the images that I have collected which have given me ideas about what type of game I am going to be creating, I kept
the idea of the nebula and I used it a lot in my mood board. The reason the nebula was repetitive in image is because I want that to be the
face of the game such as main menu and end menu and logo for the game, the reason for this is because its fascinating and bring people in to
look at it. I also used the idea of planets a lot because it shows planet and other planets and moons the reason is because you will be able to
choose which planet you want to knock about in customizations as there will be different options and it will be your choice dependent on
what you unlock in game.
The colour scheme is black with multiple different colours around it to represent the universe the reason that these colours are repeated is
because they are the colours of our universe and space . The reason that the sun is white in the image and I am using a white sun is because I
want my game to also have some facts and science about it, using a white sun is its actual colour rather than yellow and orange as its set in
space and not our atmosphere. The nebula is going to be made up of a multitude of colours which is why I chose different images of nebulas
from space to base my nebula design off.
The tone of the game is mystery as it will show the different planets and things in the universe, fore example planets stars nebulas and black
holes, this will show mystery in the background of the game and share the mystery with the person playing the game this sets a mysterious
tone to the game.
The mood of the board is to try and use different planets and space ideas so that it creates a mysterious mood I believe this mood sets a tone
for the game I'm creating as well as the mood board does. I included 1 font which is shown and used in pong the reason I like this font is
because its simple and from a memorable arcade game.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board will influence my product because I have chosen different images that represent the game that I intend to create and give off the ideas that
I'm trying to go for when creating it, in various different ways. My mood board will influence my game as it takes ideas of the colour scheme of different
things in space, for example nebulas black holes and the sun, this shows and sets a guideline for me to follow when creating the game. I will also focus the
main planet around earth which is a influence from my mood board it’s the main focused planet and I believe that it is a good starting planet until you
customize it and unlock new one, expanding into the solar system. I will also be influenced from the mood board by the way that the scoring system has
been set out on pong I think that I will use that idea on my own game.
Overall my mood board will influence my final product in numerous different ways and is useful as it gives me a starting idea to go off before making the
final product or the experiment and gives me a good idea of what I want to create and how I want to set it out.

Left right up down all will be controlled through the one joystick. • The game will have different customization options which will allow you to change the different ball on the game and choose to change it to different options. • There will also be an option to change the scenery customization. • all the scenery will be optional to change from the main menu but will need to be unlocked through playing the game, this will be shown I the advergame. • You will be able to customize the way that the scoring and time limit is set out through the options menu.Colour options • The Colour scheme will focus around space the sun will be a shinny white and the planets and and nebulas will be different colours exploring multiple different ideas so that they are able to stand out. • The stars and other scenery will move down as the game that’s been played moves up to add to the effect that its moving while the game is playing. How the scoring system works • The game will be scored on how many times the ball/object is hit back and forth against yourself or the computer depending on what type of game I go for but it will count the amount of times you hit the ball/object in 1s and will be able to record a high score. • In the game if you miss the object the game stops and comes up with game over but will record each score that you get while playing it each time you play it. The menu screen • The menu screen will have the option to check score from previous games and start the game and exit the game, as well as the option for customizations to the background, the planet/object and the objects/ barriers that you hit it back with dependent on what you unlock in the game.
  • 5. Mood Board Analysis Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood There is repetition in the images that I have collected which have given me ideas about what type of game I am going to be creating, I kept the idea of the nebula and I used it a lot in my mood board. The reason the nebula was repetitive in image is because I want that to be the face of the game such as main menu and end menu and logo for the game, the reason for this is because its fascinating and bring people in to look at it. I also used the idea of planets a lot because it shows planet and other planets and moons the reason is because you will be able to choose which planet you want to knock about in customizations as there will be different options and it will be your choice dependent on what you unlock in game. The colour scheme is black with multiple different colours around it to represent the universe the reason that these colours are repeated is because they are the colours of our universe and space . The reason that the sun is white in the image and I am using a white sun is because I want my game to also have some facts and science about it, using a white sun is its actual colour rather than yellow and orange as its set in space and not our atmosphere. The nebula is going to be made up of a multitude of colours which is why I chose different images of nebulas from space to base my nebula design off. The tone of the game is mystery as it will show the different planets and things in the universe, fore example planets stars nebulas and black holes, this will show mystery in the background of the game and share the mystery with the person playing the game this sets a mysterious tone to the game. The mood of the board is to try and use different planets and space ideas so that it creates a mysterious mood I believe this mood sets a tone for the game I'm creating as well as the mood board does. I included 1 font which is shown and used in pong the reason I like this font is because its simple and from a memorable arcade game. How will your mood board influence your final product? My mood board will influence my product because I have chosen different images that represent the game that I intend to create and give off the ideas that I'm trying to go for when creating it, in various different ways. My mood board will influence my game as it takes ideas of the colour scheme of different things in space, for example nebulas black holes and the sun, this shows and sets a guideline for me to follow when creating the game. I will also focus the main planet around earth which is a influence from my mood board it’s the main focused planet and I believe that it is a good starting planet until you customize it and unlock new one, expanding into the solar system. I will also be influenced from the mood board by the way that the scoring system has been set out on pong I think that I will use that idea on my own game. Overall my mood board will influence my final product in numerous different ways and is useful as it gives me a starting idea to go off before making the final product or the experiment and gives me a good idea of what I want to create and how I want to set it out.
