Benefits Of A Non Corporate Taxpayer
Expenses attributable to profit seeking farm activities are deductible as either business expenses under
IRC § 162 or production of income expenses under Section § 212. Under IRC § 162, ordinary and
necessary expenses paid or incurred in connection with a trade or business are allowable as business
expenses. Under IRC § 212, ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in connection with the
production of income, or the management, conservation or maintenance of property held for the
production of income are allowable business expenses. Farm expenses that satisfy the requirements
under IRC § 162 or 212 are allowable without regard to the amount of income derived from farming
activity, subject to the risk rules, the passive activity loss rules and any other applicable limitations. If
a non corporate taxpayer engages in an activity without a profit motive, the activity is considered a
hobby subject to the hobby loss rules.
The hobby loss rules under IRC § 183 limit the deductibility of certain items with respect to an
activity that is not engaged in for profit. The history of IRC § 183 indicates that one of the primary
motivating factors behind its passage was Congress desire to create an objective standard to determine
whether a taxpayer was carrying on a business for the purpose of realizing a profit or was instead
merely attempting to create and utilize losses to offset other income (Nickerson vs Comm, 1983).
Congress recognized that wealthy individuals have invested

Cvs Pharmacy
Pharmacy Service Improvement at CVS
Rhiannon Graham
PID: 3634552
Redesign the Pharmacy Service Process at CVS Customer Value Store (CVS) is one of the largest
retail drugstores in the United States. CVS has over 4,000 stores and generated revenue of 24.2 billion
dollars in 2002. CVS grew at the same rate as other major pharmacy chains, but continued to lose
millions of customers due to service issues. These problems led to the implementation of the
Pharmacy Service Initiative (PSI). In observations of various stores, as well as interviews with
employees, 67 major problems were identified. The steps in the service process include drop off, data
entry, production (prescription fulfillment), quality assurance, waiting for pickup, and ... Show more

Following data entry is the production or fulfillment step. This is the step where pharmacists actually
fill the prescriptions. The major problem encountered in this step is not having sufficient inventory to
fill a prescription. This can be frustrating for the pharmacist and the customer. A possible solution to
this problem is to fill the prescription in part; enough to get the customer started on their medication,
and then when new shipment arrives fill the remaining portion of the prescription. This would require
an entry to the customer s record so that employees know the prescription was only partially filled.
Also in order to implement this process, we would need our suppliers to expedite shipping of our
restock orders. As a market leader, CVS should have no problem in getting its suppliers to work with
them. Perhaps the most critical step in the process occurs after the fulfillment step. This is the quality
assurance step (QA). This is where the pharmacists review the prescription to make sure the correct
medication/dosages have been used in filling the prescription. This step, though time consuming, is
critical, and there are no changes that should be applied to this step because of the extremely low
margin for error. The last step in the process is the pickup. This step is most likely the most frustrating
one for customers, because often when they come to pick up their prescriptions they are not ready yet.

Darius The Great Of The Empire
Darius I, also known as Darius the Great, was the third king who reigned from 550 486 BCE during
the Achaemenid Empire. While he lived, Darius held the empire at its peak, which stretched from the
river Nile and parts of Northern Greece to the Indus River Valley. One of the most major events in
Darius s life was his expedition to discipline Athens and Eretria for their support in the Ionian Revolt.
He made his empire larger by vanquishing Thrace and Macedonia, and occupying Scythia. He also
arranged his empire, by splitting it into provinces and placing governors to rule over it. Darius
organized a new financial system, along with making Aramaic the official language of the empire. He
followed religious tolerance that created peace within the empire. Darius order the carving of the cliff
face Behistun Inscription, an autobiography of great modern linguistic significance. Darius was born
as the eldest of five sons to a leading figure of power in Persia named Hystaspes. Herodotus of
Halicarnassus, author of The Histories, wrote that after a dream that seemed to predict Darius reign,
King Cyrus became suspicious of the son of Hystaspes, who was about twenty at that time and had
been left behind in Persia because he was too young for war (Herodotus) . Herodotus adds that Cyrus
sent back Hystaspes to control his son. A couple days late and the king was killed in action against the
Medes. Either Cyrus or his son and successor Cambyses appointed Hystaspes as governor of

How Did The Printing Press Contribute To The Reformation
The printing press and its involvement in the reformation
Sometime before 1450 Johann Guttenburg developed the printing press, this invention made the
printing of lengthy texts far easier. In the years following Gutenberg s era to Luther s, printing as an
industry was improving exponentially. The press received mechanical improvements, increasing
efficiency. Printing also became a large industry with large facilities dedicated to printing. The
Reformation would prove good to the printing industry as more and more lengthy material was
written. Gone was the need for manuscripts and the long process of hand written works. Martin Luther
nailed his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church on October 31, 1517. He wanted to

It was important to Luther and indeed any writer to pick the best publisher for the job. Grunenberg
was used to publish Luther s Seven Penitential Psalms. Grunenberg s placement in Wittenberg
University was very fortuitous for Martin Luther as he was able to monitor and oversee all the work
that Grunenberg was doing for him while he was teaching at Wittenberg. At some point Luther
became unhappy with the work Grunenberg and went on to work with Melchior Lotther who
established a printing shop in the University to work for Luther . Luther and Lotther had a good
working relationship and Luthers publications prospered under Lotthers printing. If Luther was
placing such an emphasis on the relationship and work ethic of his printer, then we could conclude
from this that Martin Luther himself placed a great emphasis on the printing press and recognised it s
importance. Without its invention, the speed and reach of Luther s and indeed other reformer s
writings would have been stunted. The press allowed Luther to try new things when it came to
publishing such as publishing the first part of a book to see how much interest there was for it before
releasing the rest. This could be used to reduce the chance of a financial disaster and could possibly be
the first time such a thing was

Before the narrator leaves the signalman s box the signalman promises to tell the narrator what has
been troubling him. If you ever make another visit, I will tell you .
This suggests that the signalman is scared of something that he isn t sure he is ready to tell because he
is telling the narrator on his second visit.
When the narrator returns to the signalman s box a second time the signalman tells the narrator what is
troubling him he says that he ran into the tunnel because a figure shouted Halloa, below there! Look
out! when the signalmen ran into the tunnel he saw figures so he ran back out No, I ran on into the
tunnel, five hundred yards. I stopped, and held my lamp above my head, and saw the figures of the
measured distance, and saw the wet stains stealing down the walls and trickling through the arch. The
word figure suggest that the signalman doesn t think what he saw was human because otherwise
would have used the word man. This gives a effect of mystery because the reader doesn t know what
the signalman saw. The word trickling suggests that the tunnel is wet, damp and eerie. This is typical
of the gothic genre because the fact that it is wet suggests that it has been bad weather and stormy. The
signalman then explains to the narrator how dead people were brought over where he had seen the
figure. within six hours after the appearance the memorable accident on this line

Research Paper On Mexico Sandals
The Mexican people are becoming more and more sensitive to obesity with the government not only
encouraging the citizens to eat well (eat fresh foods) but also encouraging the population to stay in
shape (regular exercise). The Mexican women and men especially in the lower age groups the need to
exercise regularly. When it comes to purchasing shoes, or any kind of footwear, price, durability and
flexibility are some of the things that a person considers. Most Mexicans, though increasing in the
middle class, are still not so well financially endowed to be in the position of the American consumer
purchasing power. Thus they are especially not able to buy so many shoes (in average 2.5 pairs) as the
average American does (men an average of 12 pairs, women an average of 27). But an all in one shoe
could be the perfect match for an Mexican; a shoe that you can wear to a party, a casual meeting, a
walk around the city, for yoga, gym, jogging, hiking, other water sports and in the weekends. You will

during water sports, sneakers which were commonly worn would get very heavy when wet and would

Thatcher, come off with an idea and he designed a thong shaped sandal with a nylon ankle strap. That

could manufacture the sandal. For the first one year he sold only 200 pairs, but the design had some
minor faults, when worn people developed blisters between the first and the second toes due to thong

Indentured White Servants In Colonial America
The colonies of 1916 were desperate for labor and manpower, to grow enough food to stay alive since
agriculture and craftwork were key to the development of the colonies. The colonists thought about
forcing the Indians to work for them, but they were massively outnumbered (Zinn). Initially,
indentured white servants were used for labor, but there was not a sufficient quantity of them and the
amount of work was increasing. Fearing a servant revolt, the colonies resorted to using African slaves
rather than the servants. They relied on the slaves to work on the plantations or mine precious metals.
The Virginians needed labor to grow corn and tobacco. The rest of the colonies also needed labor to
work on similar plantations. Tobacco plantations required thousands of workers meaning the owner
wouldn t be making much profit. In the beginning, indentured white servants were the answer. These
were mainly the ones who could not afford a boat trip to America to start a new life so they offered
themselves as servants for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is that these slaves had prior farming experience, knew how to grow crops unfamiliar to the
colonies, and they could teach these skills to their masters. The second advantage is that Africans
tended to be immune to malaria and yellow fever meaning they found a more efficient way to grow
rice. The last advantage was that slavery was like a disease. Enslavement laws stated slaves were
purchased once and then owned for their entire life. (Teaching U.S History) If a slave had a child, that
child would be enslaved for the rest of his or her life leading to multiple generations of slaves. Slavery
proved to be a plentiful investment for plantation owners. The slave trade itself brought in a great
amount of money to the colonies. For the areas that weren t thriving off crops, they could just import
or export slaves. Slavery proved to be a plentiful investment for plantation

These areas should be noted and monitored by industry practitioners during all stages of the
construction process. The most common contributing factors in claims were increase in scope of the
work, weather, restricted access, and acceleration. Categories of claims that were mentioned in the
largest number of claims were site overhead, loss of productivity, loss of revenue, and financing costs.
Contract clauses that were quoted in the claims were most commonly in the areas of delays,
scheduling, and increase in the scope of work. The special consideration should be given to contract
clauses dealing with changes/extras, disputes, soil/site conditions, and delay. The essential steps an
owner can take to minimize risks and deal with the identified causes are to allow reasonable time for
the design team to produce clear and complete drawings and specifications, to use value engineering
and implement constructability during the different stages of the project, to provide a proper
mechanism for processing and evaluating change orders that pay for direct costs, indirect costs, and
loss of productivity associated with any changes if any, to use critical path method scheduling, cost

Binaries In Great Expectations
It is Charles Dickens who says that there are dark shadows on the earth, but its lights are stronger in
the contrast. The theme of highlighting and appreciating goodness when comparing it to darkness is
prevalent in Dickens s novel, Great Expectations. The contrast is shown through character binaries.
Some may argue that Dickens does not mean for the characters to be complete opposites, and wants to
treat them as individuals. However this can not be true as in the novel, Dickens is often comparing
characters directly. Character binaries show that tenderness and humanity should be appreciated as
shown by Estella and Biddy, Magwitch and Compeyson, and Joe and Pumblechook. Initially, Estella

To demonstrate, Magwitch shows off his nobler side by attempting to [prevent] [Compeyson] getting
off the marshes and bringing the Hulks... its gentleman again (Dickens 32 33). In other words,
Magwitch gives up his own escape to bring justice to the atrocious Compeyson. He does what is right
while Compeyson is shouting out lies and pretending to be innocent. His action, which sends him back
to prison, is able to be appreciated by Pip. All though it was not true appreciation, Pip is grateful that
both convicts are, for the meantime, out of his life. By the same token, Magwitch reveals Compeyson
s corrupt nature by telling Pip Compeyson s business is the swindling, handwriting forging, stolen
bank note passing (Dickens 323). That is to say, Compeyson, as told by Magwitch, makes poor
choices and selfishly takes advantage of all he can. Compeyson s crooked actions and exploitive
nature allows Magwitch s generosity to be all the more incredulous. Compared to Compeyson, who is
despicable, Magwitch becomes all the more appreciated by Pip. Additionally, while Magwitch lies in
the infirmary awaiting his death sentence many describe him as being humble and contrite and never
[known to] complain (Dickens 425) demonstrating his remorseful and modest nature. To put it another
way, Magwitch feels and admits guilt for his crimes, and demonstrates humbleness and nobility facing
death. Contrary to Compeyson, who desperately avoids death and imprisonment with no guilt or
shame, Magwitch s admirable personality is further recognized by all and appreciated more
specifically by Pip. It is evident that Pip is able to appreciate Magwitch and his actions due to
Compeyson and Magwitch s contradicting personalities enhancing Magwitch s virtue and considerate

Comparison Of Two Investment Theories Applied Within...
The comparison of two investment theories applied within financial markets
Over time there have been many different theories applied to financial markets which attempt to
explain the changes of stock prices and the different trends over time. Investors would often debate
whether or not the market is efficient. Put simply, whether or not the market is a reflection of the
information made available to the investor at any time. One such theory that attempts to explain the
movements and trends of a market is the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH). This particular theory
was advocated by Professor Eugene Fama back in 1970 and is regarded as the most widely used
investment theory. The EMH states that the stock market is informationally efficient where all stocks
are accurately priced based on their investment properties and all investors equally possess the
knowledge of these properties. The EMH also states that no investor within the market is able to
achieve incredible market returns due to the fact that stocks are always priced at their fair value.
However, considering the likes of Warren Buffet and his success, this idea doesn t seem to be true.
Therefore, the EMH is considered by many to be fairly inaccurate theory that shouldn t be applied to
financial markets. There can be a lot more said about the EMH however, this article, as I hope you
have noticed by now, is to do with fractals. So now let s look at an alternative theory that investors
may prefer to utilize. This theory

The Third-Leading Cause Of Teen Suicide In The United States
Each year, thousands of children and young adults are dying, not from cancer, heart disease, AIDS,
birth defects, strokes, pneumonia, influenza, chronic lung disease, or car accidents, but by their own
hands; they commit suicide. To start off, what is suicide? According to the dictionary, it is: a: the act or
an instance of taking one s own life voluntarily and intentionally, especially by a person of years of
discretion and of sound of mind or b: ruin of one s own interests (Merriam Webster.com). Suicide is
the third leading cause of death for ages fifteen to twenty four and the sixth leading cause of death for
ages five to fourteen ( Teen Suicide ). The number of teen suicides is instantaneously increasing each
year. It is skyrocketing out of control and no one seems to understand just how severe it is. Each year,
more than five thousand young people between the ages of fifteen and twenty four commit suicide,
and an additional 1.2 million young people attempt suicide each year ( Introducing to Teen Suicide: At

following: change in eating and sleeping habits, withdraw from friends, family, and regular activities,
violent actions, running away, drug or alcohol use, gives verbal hints: I won t be a problem for long,
etc. Therefore, these teens seem to think that suicide appears to be the solution to these problems and
feelings. Individuals need to seek qualified mental health if you ever hear the words, I want to kill
myself. As a result, seeking assistance for suicide can be beneficial and preventable. Suicidal
teenagers need to decipher that people are concerned about the decisions running through their minds (

Essay about The Middle Colonies
After the first few struggling settlements in the New World progressed, more and more colonies
sprung from the untested North American soil. Eventually, there were three main categories to the
European colonies. They were each unique, although one certain class stood in stark contrast to the
other two. This group, the Middle colonies, was a halfway point between the New England and
Southern colonies and not just geographically. The Middle colonies extracted parts of its neighbors,
like farming habits and spiritual sects, but the middle group managed to retain its own flavor. Perhaps
one of the most important circumstances of the New World was the varying climate. The North
American continent was not the same as its southern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A significant factor of any civilization, be it vast as the Roman Empire or pitifully miniscule, is
spirituality. Religion was (and even remains to be) a big part of North America. New England was
strictly Puritan. English Puritans sought out haven in the New World, far away from persecution in the
mother country. The Southern colonies consisted mostly of Anglicans, though some may speculate
that the Southerners were more concerned with worshipping wealth. The Middle colonies were quite
different in that there was no single dominant religion. Pennsylvania, which contained the largest city
in all the thirteen colonies, was well known for its many Quaker residents. However, there was also a
fair share of Jews, Catholics, and other faiths, as well as the standard Puritans and Anglicans. Overall,
the most defining factor of the Middle colonies was its ethnic diversity. The backgrounds of its
inhabitants included (but was not limited to) German, Dutch, Scotch Irish, English, French, Welsh,
Swedish, Polish, and Finnish. New England could not compete, for its population was almost entirely
English, save for the scattered Dutch remnants of New Amsterdam and the Native Americans, of
course. The South was biracial, which meant that one was black, white, or an exceedingly rare mixture
of the two. The Middle colonies had slaves, though its percentage of slaves in the population was

happy memories that were forgotten once technology began to develop. Because dying in a familiar

Apologization Of Apology
An apology is an admission that you have done something wrong and regret doing so. It can be
difficult to admit that you have made a mistake. You have to let go of any defensiveness and ego and
refrain from backtracking. No one likes the complicated, defeated feelings that come from being
wrong. Apologizing requires humility and the willingness to place the needs of those you have wrong
above your own. It is imperative that you specify whether you are really sorry for your actions or if
you are only sorry that you were caught. With that said, I once had to apologize for making fun of a
friend s weight without realizing the effect that it would have on her. Before apologizing, I first had to

My Experience Of School Skiing
It was February sixteenth, I was in sixth grade and I had gotten a flyer for the annual school ski trip.
More excited than ever I took it home and put it on the fridge so my mom and dad would see it when
they got home from work. Twenty minutes after they got home they hadn t said anything, so I casually
took it off the fridge and placed it on the couch between my parents in the back room. My mom
looked at me with a tired sigh and asked what is was. I happily told her that it was an application form
for a school field trip coming up! She signed the form and stated that we d be renting skis from Barrie
s Extreme Sports Store. I was surprised that this wasn t a bigger deal! I had never been skiing before
and it was clearly something that needed way more attention! It was very upsetting. But on the other
side of the couch sat my dad, who would give me anything I ever desired. I m spoiled by both my

support. Skiing?! How exciting! You ve never been right? he exclaimed Nope, never been! You ll like
it, it s exhilarating! he was clearly very excited for me. That s when my brother, Lance, walked in.

What Is The Theme Of The Hunger Games
The story The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins takes place in the fictional country of Panem, a
nation governed by the tyrannical Capitol being served by the twelve districts. The districts are strictly
ordered to obey the Capitol, or face severe punishment. Throughout the story, it is shown that the
Capitol exploits the workforce of the districts, while hoarding all of the luxuries for itself. Life in the
Capitol is luxurious, with extravagant food and water being plentiful and available at the push of a
button. On the other hand, many people in the districts slowly die from famine and disease. The
Capitol has the ability to tear apart the already troubled lives of any citizens that dare to step out of
line, and there is no shortage of this presented throughout the story. The Capitol of Panem hoards all
of the country s wealth for itself, while each of the districts is wracked with varying degrees of
poverty and hardship. The Capitol is especially notable for its obsession with appearance and luxury
goods. While the Capitol itself is widely known for its beauty, its citizens are notorious for having a
peculiar fashion sense. In Chapter 4, the Capitol is described by saying, The cameras haven t lied
about its grandeur. If anything, they have not quite captured the magnificence of the glistening
buildings in a rainbow of hues that tower into the air, ... the oddly dressed people with bizarre hair and
painted faces who have never missed a meal, (Collins, page 59). The

2012 2013 KINE 1000 6.0 Socio cultural Perspectives in Kinesiology

Almost everyone has some kind of leisure time whether it is a couple hours or a couple days. What
varies is the type of recreational activities people choose to do during that time. Although leisure and
recreation is chosen based on ones unique individual interests, there are many sociocultural factors
that influence the type of recreational activities we do, when we do it and how often we do it. These
factors include political, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, during the winter months, basketball was the only sport I had access too because there
were indoor courts available. These environmental factors inclined me to choose basketball as my
main recreation in terms of competitive sport and now it is one of my favorite sports. It was hard for
me to engage in my previous recreational activities because nobody enjoyed playing soccer or cricket.
This constrained my choices in terms of what kind of recreational activities I wanted to do. Another
factor that separated me from playing sports such as soccer and cricket were economic factors. During
the winter season, the only way I could play these sports was if I joined the indoor leagues but these
leagues were quite expensive. Coming from a middle class family, these extra expenses were hard to
manage and sustain. Soon it became too much and so I had to quit and find other recreational activities
to do in my leisure. Due to these various sociocultural factors, my involvement in certain sports was
severely hampered while other sports such as basketball were immensely facilitated.
Another environmental factor that really controls when I do my leisure is the area or locality where I
live. I do not live in a prestigious area and thus there are many things lacking such as recreation
centers and gyms. Your built environment influences how physically active you are because you are

Demographic Transformation Model And The Demographic...
The Demographic Transition Model is a simplification for the conventional process of shifts in
population growth in our world s countries. The Demographic Transition Model, also known as DTM,
is derived from Great Britain s model of their demographic cycle between the 1750s and the 1900s. It
consists of five different stages, with the phases being low growth, increasing growth, population
explosion, decreasing growth, and declining population. These phases are defined by a triple line
graph of the crude birth rate, crude death rate, and the total population per one thousand people. The
DTM applies to almost every country, but the different stages of the model the countries fit in varies.
There are no countries remaining in Stage 1 anymore. Though, some are making it into Stage 5, and
the addition of a Stage 6 is being considered. The purpose of this report is to analyze five varying
countries populations from over the years and compare their process to the Demographic Transition
Model. By comparing each country with the model and using their population pyramid graphs, the
goal is to discover how precisely and where the countries fit.
The focus of the procedure of this report is population pyramids. A population pyramid is a graph that
illustrates the composition of that population by age and gender. It can provide insight on the political
and social aspects of a society, as well as their economy. On the left side, typically, the population is
displayed in horizontal

Architecture Of Anglo Saxon Architecture
Early Britain was an era of take overs and violence , overall it was a time of darkness , but despite the
darkness this Anglo Saxon era was a time filled with a new culture and government . Anglo Saxons
came to Britain sometime during AD 425 450 and lasted until 1066 . When the Romans left Britain ,
new settlement began . With the new population in Britain , there was a need for housing too , the
Anglo Saxon architecture however , did not start until the mid fifth century . Anglo Saxon architecture
is a different style than modern architecture .
The Anglo Saxon era was not as advanced as we are today , meaning they had to make do with the
resources they had . The resources the had were any natural resources around them or materials that
were man made . The Anglo Saxon homes were not built to last , but to provide shelter . Since the
housing was meant to last . Wattle and Daub has been used to create a filler for the wooden frames . It
used materials that could be found easily which made it affordable to builders . The wattle and daub is
made by weaving together small wooden branches to create a wall . Mud , straw , horsehair and cow
or horse dung is mixed together and then smeared on the walls . Once this dries it is like plaster and
can even be painted . (Glover). In house framing we mostly use wood , but we are starting to use more
steel and concrete . Most interior walls are made of plaster or drywalls but can also be made of a stone
or brick . The walls are made

discourse and an increase in sex and love. Jovanotti, an Italian artist, made rap popular in Italy
because he took traditional Italian pop songs and turned them into rap. This was his way of targeting
the mainstream audience. Other than Germany and Italy, other major countries were in the middle of a

Mother Teresa
For generations, people around the world of all various social classes have lived very differently.
People are wealthy and have things given to them, or poor and working hard for basic needs. Some
were unlucky and born with defects that would affect them their whole lives. Others were blessed to
live a healthy life. There are very few people around the around the world that would take time from
their life to help people consistently. However, Mother Teresa was a hero because she was one
extraordinary woman who devoted her life to help all kinds of people around the world.
Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, also known as Mother Teresa, was born in Skopje, the current capital of the
Republic of Macedonia, on August 26th 1910. She came from a wealthy family and was the youngest
of three. Her father passed away when she was eight years old and was raised by her widowed mother.
She practiced Roman Catholicism and was an illustrious member in her church s youth group. Shortly
after, Agnes was responsive in Missionaries work. In 1928, at eighteen years old, Agnes got her first
call from God to aid the people of Ireland (Balado 6). She didn t have a mentor to look up to, and it is

The Effects of Creatine on Athletes Bodies Essay examples
The Effects of Creatine on Athletes Bodies
From a very early age sports are introduced upon both young boys and girls. Although it begins with
sportsmanship and teamwork, it begins to evolve into new objectives when these young athletes enter
high school. In fact, high school sports are vastly different. Your mind is trained to obliterate the
opponent and win at all costs. This mentality can often lead many young athletes to turn to
supplements to assist in muscle building. The most common supplement in use currently is Creatine.
While athletic departments and sports nutrition stores claim that it is harmless, why do so many high
school athletes end up with severe muscular and pulmonary damage? The answer has yet to be clearly

The human body will generate half of all needed creatine and ATP on a daily basis. The remaining half
is produced from the food that we consume. What this means is that we naturally accumulate almost
100% of the needed energy on a daily basis. When these young athletes now add another 5 15%, the
body may undergo some changes or side affects. According to the American College Of Sports
Medicine, creatine is not recommended for athletes that work out in heated areas or warm climates.
Furthermore, they also warn that adolescents have a much greater risk of damaging their internal
organs than adults with a similar level of health. These warnings should serve as a red flag for parents
who willingly allow their student athletes to consume creatine as a dietary supplement. In fact, if
athletes or parents researched this product they would find that it is not currently regulated by the
Food And Drug Administration (FDA). Meanwhile athletic departments all over this country
purposely influence athletes to participate in the use of this drug, all in the name of winning. Sadly,
high school sports has turned into a method of financial dependency by fiscally strapped public school
systems. In fact, these school systems put pressure on high school athletic associations to allow
athletes to experiment with these supplements that are not regulated or controlled. People are still
under the assumption that Creatine is safe because it is sold over the counter.

The History Of Taxes During The Civil War

The History of Taxes
In 1861, Lincoln levied the first federal income tax by signing the Revenue Act. Needing cash with
which to fund the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln and the Congress agreed to impose a 3 percent tax on
annual incomes over $800.00. The wording of the Revenue Act was broadly written to define income
as a monetary gain derived from any kind of property, or from any professional trade, employment, or
vocation carried on in the United States or elsewhere or from any source whatever. (A E Television

After the Civil War, the growing industrial and financial markets of the eastern United States thrived.

Meaning that taxpayers pay more in taxes if they earn more in income. For example, taxpayers may
pay 25% of their income in taxes up to a certain amount, and 35% of everything earned over that
amount.
One theory about the use of the progressive taxation is that people or businesses who earn the same or
a similar amount of money should be taxed in the same or a similar way. A good example of that
theory states that two individuals making $75,000 per year should be taxed the same amount,
regardless of how they earned their income. While most countries have some form of progressive
taxation, it is usually combined with other taxes, such as a sales tax, and few countries treat all income
as exactly the same. This kind of taxation is still in effect today, bigger corporations are taxed more
than the smaller mom and pop businesses. The focus of what the government wanted to tax changed
over the years, it started with taxing incomes and then moved on to taxing tobacco and distilled spirits
and eliminated the income tax in 1872. It had a short lived revival in 1894 and 1895. In the latter year,
the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the income tax was unconstitutional because it was not
apportioned among the states in conformity with the Constitution. It wouldn t be until 1913 that the
16th amendment was passed and added to the Constitution that income tax would become a permanent
fixture in the U.S. tax system.

The Ratio Of A Hedge Funds
We will extend our findings about undercapitalization in Table 4 based on our conclusions from Table
3. From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it consists only
8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small fraction of live
hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can stay out of the risk
of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is 12.3%, so more dead
funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the ratio of undercapitalization
plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund, we will take a further look
into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of variables that would usually have
influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable values under the category of adequately
capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can determine the key elements that would usually
influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. Table 4 also illustrates the comparative characteristics between
live and dead hedge funds. We can specify the characteristics in the following points. First, the mean
of the net asset for the undercapitalized live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the
capitalized funds is $206.1 million. The huge difference between these two values means a positive
condition in the capital adequacy of the live funds. More live hedge

Genocide And The Holocaust
Genocide is one of the most tragic events that can happen around the world. Identifying the stages is
the most crucial part of stopping these horrible acts. The Bosnian Genocide and the Holocaust could
have been prevented or stopped if the 8 stages were properly identified . There are 8 stages of
genocide and the first stage is Classification. Classification is putting people into groups based on
race, ethnicity, and religion. These groups usually are separated into the superior people and the
inferior people. In the holocaust the Nazis targeted minorities, more specifically the Jewish people.
The Jews were seen as the inferior race and they needed to be eliminated according to the nazis. The
second stage of genocide is symbolization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage of genocide is called polarization. Polarization is where they separate the population. The
SS and Nazis used propaganda to convince the german population the the Jewish people were the root
of all evil. They used posters and videos to make this happen. Poster depicted Jews as being ape like
with large noses and a slanted forehead. The most prevalent example of this is the Hitler Youth, they
were brainwashed using propaganda so they would believe that everything Hitler said was morally
right. The people that rebelled and did not believe the propaganda were eliminated. The next stage of
genocide and the first step of the systematic killing is preparation. Preparation is when the target group
is put together and combined to make it easier for extermination. In the Bosnian Genocide men and
women were moved to concentration camps where they would be held until they were killed. The
Serbs overthrew the law enforcement and roamed the streets rounding up Bosniaks, making sure none
got away. They executed anyone that was thought to be strong enough to rebel instantly. The most
gruesome stage of Genocide is Extermination. Extermination is the killing of the targeted group. They
use the word extermination because they do not view the victims as humans and they are making them
feel like rats or insects by using this term. In the Holocaust they had many ways of killing the Jews,
the SS and Nazis used, starvation, exhaustion, mobile shooting squads, and gas

The Habits Of Time Management In High School
Time management had always been a problem for me. Stemming back to high school, I would
procrastinate on everything I had to do. From studying for exams to getting my drivers license,
procrastination always took over my responsibilities. While it was a terrible habit to have, I was able
to bounce back from my stupid mistakes back in high school. This, unfortunately, was not the same
story in college.
In my first quarter at UCSB, I vowed to change my nasty habits of procrastinating on all my
responsibilities. Throughout the course of the quarter, I was doing fairly fine; getting decent grades on
exams, doing my homework, and even finishing readings before they were due. While I was doing
better than I expected, it was primarily due to the fact that I was fairly dedicated to my work, and not
that I was managing my time any better than I did in high school. In other words, I was still
procrastinating, but the topics were not yet too difficult to truly affect my GPA. That is, until my first
finals came around. One thing that future first year students need to understand is that finals weeks is
not just one week; the grind starts on week ten, otherwise known as dead week . This is one bit of
information that did not come across to me on my first attempt at my college finals. As one could
easily guess, I spent my entire dead week having fun, sleeping, and watching television. At the time, I
did not think that I was doing any harm to myself, as I would still have a day to study

The Postmodern Worldview And Its Popular Relativistic
In this paper I will consider the postmodern worldview and its popular relativistic claims alongside of
my theistic worldview where God almighty exist and as such, has revealed Himself to the world. For
the postmodern worldview, the ideas and behaviors of man are more of a perception of what reality is
and not an absolute. Phillips, Brown, and Stonestreet (2008) refer to postmodernism this way, The
focus of postmodernism is on how we perceive and how we describe what the world is (p.53). Further,
the postmodern interpretations of truth can be evaluated through the different communities, religions,

What do I believe to be true in with my theistic worldview and why do I believe it? Because of God s
revelation to and through His creation, I/we can see a purpose and a definitive plan for mankind.
History is ordained by God there is a purpose and a goal for the course of human and natural events
(p.97). In essence God s plan is for order and not chaos and His works are purposeful and through His
accord. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace as in all the congregations of the Lord s people
(1 Corinthians 14:33, New International Version). God s nature and character are also revealed to
mankind as is our duty to love one another. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God
is Love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son in to the world that
we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son
as an atoning sacrifice for our sins
(1 John 4:8 10, New International Version). God models the permanence love, a love that never fails
or dies and is eternal. Love is significant to the Creator and thus must be applied and carried out by the
created! God has also impressed on hearts a moral order and demonstrates His sovereignty, goodness,
and faithfulness to His creation. I believe, trust, and walk in this truth of God s

Why Is Migration Important To Economic Prosperity In The...
Does immigration contribute a substantial amount to economic prosperity in industrialized countries,
specifically the United States, or are they a deterrent? Throughout the years there has been a shift in
people s perspectives about the contributions of immigration to their own and foreign countries.
Immigrants contribute a substantial amount to the economic prosperity in industrialized countries,
specifically the United States. Since the Gilded Age, countries like the United States were developed
by immigrants. These immigrants are the ones who take those tough jobs which the native citizens do
not want to do, such as working for long hours in industry plants, in the construction industry,

Immigration contributes to rising wages for natives. Since the natives are the ones with more

advocates say that the primary type of immigration is for family reunification ... Spouses, children and
parents of citizens may be unskilled, uneducated, and thus likely to become public charges, the bane
of immigration , (Foster, 1). This argument does not make sense because if your are illegal you do not
have any of the rights that citizens have, meaning they can not ask for aid due to their illegal status not
being a charge to the national economy. So, immigration is not a deterrent, but a positive situation for
those slowing and shrinking economies in the world because a redistribution of the population could

The Cruelty Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
The inclination to belong in a group or society is naturally present in all humans. We, as a species,
want to belong somewhere or with someone. Even though, we understand the struggle of fitting, we,
as humans still persecute others for not being similar to us. All in all, the exclusion is a form of
bullying. In her novel Frankenstein, Mary Shelley exemplifies this phenomena of human behavior,
when she shows the maltreatment that Frankenstein s monster is given for his unattractive physical
features and what he does to terminate his isolation. Victor Frankenstein engulfed in the dedication of
creating a god like image of himself creates a monster. Upon its creation, the monster s entire
perception of the world was around Victor Frankenstein resembling an infant perceiving its

Male and Female Relations in Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse
Male and Female Relations in To The Lighthouse To The Lighthouse exemplifies the condition of
women when Woolf was writing and to some extent yet today. It offers a solution to remedy the
condition of both men and women. To say the novel is a cry for a change in attitude towards women is
not quite correct. It shows the struggle of both men and women and how patriarchy is damaging to
both genders. Mrs. Ramsey. Both suffer from the unequal division of gender power in Woolf s society.
Lily is also very much a product of society, yet she has new ideas for the role of women and produces
one answer to the problems of gender power. Besides providing these examples of ... Show more

The one man who is productive is Mr. Carmichael. It is interesting to note that he does not allow Mrs.
Ramsey to support him. He refuses her and seems somewhat scared of perhaps falling back into the
trap of patriarchal roles. Woolf tells us that Mr. Carmichael shrinks form Mrs. Ramsey and that, she
felt him wince. He did not trust her (Lighthouse 40). Mr. Carmichael is productive because he does
shrink away form Mrs. Ramsey and the sterilization that comes with the patriarchal relationships of
men and women.
Ms. Ramsey s state of submission leads her to develop her power in other areas. Woolf suggests in
fact, that all this desire of hers to give, to help, was vanity. For her own self satisfaction was it that she
wished so instinctively to help, to give (Lighthouse 41). Here Woolf implies that desire to give is a
sort of vanity, a vanity that is control. Woolf also points out that, Wishing to dominate, wishing to
interfere, making people do what she wished. That was the charge against her, and she thought it most
unjust (Lighthouse 57). Of course Mrs. Ramsey should want to dominate in some arena. Men deny her
control of her own life, so she reverts to subtle manipulation of others. John Stuart Mill states in The
Subjection of Women, [Women s] power often gives her what she has no right to, but does not enable
her to assert her own rights (155).
The power that Mrs. Ramsey cultivates is a perverted power created

My First Voyage Henry Hudson
I, Henry Hudson, have had a reputation for exploring new ways and directions. As an English
explorer, I have felt the need to find the Northwest Passage and seek everything and every visual in it.
It is the beginning of 1607, and I am about to start my first voyage after getting the job of attempting
to perceive a smaller path to the riches of Asia from Europe via Arctic Ocean. I have obtained high
hopes for my commitments, and I am certainly not going to give up. I am acquiring high hopes after a
fresh, educational start after graduating from Harvard, but I did have to be a cabin boy for many years
in my childhood, from when I was born in 1565. Hopefully, my life will get a bit easier to handle as I
am preparing my first voyage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I honestly think that it was part of the Lord s act, as I would encourage the crew to pray everyday.
Eventually, spring came along, and the ice cleared up. Even though everything was starting to
develop, the crew was in bad shape, vomiting and coughing spit all over the place. I had a conflict on
my hands. It was either me continuing the journey to find the passage, or turning back home for these
people to get help. I was leaning towards the continuing side, but my son was in bad shape, so I
hesitated for a long time. A few months later, in June of 1611, much of my crew had mutinied, and I
knew I was going to be swindled. As a matter of fact, much of my crew left by getting on the large
vessel. I sent my son with them, because I wanted him to live for a long time. After that event, I was
only left with seven others, and it would only take until the end of that year to run out of food, and the
water in the river was too cold to drink. Much of the water was ice, and we were really in a tight gap.
A month later, my focus came off of the crew and I dozed off and hit the floor of the ship, blacking out

The Invisible Quest
The Invisible Quest If I could have any superpower, it d definitely be invisibility is the popular
cognitive of the masses. Many people say the perks to invisibility are: being able to be there but not
seen and complete freedom to do whatever. But, whimsical thoughts are completely different than the
actual experience. Being invisible is being ignored. Being invisible is not being heard even when seen
and not being acknowledged even when in the same room. Humans want to be heard, seen, and talked
to. And yet, being invisible is being able to have the freedom to be yourself without the worry of other
s judgment. In the literary fiction, Invisible Man, the young African American narrator is expelled
from his home on his college campus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He didn t have to yes sir and yes ma am every white person because it was the status quo like his
grandpa told him to do. At the end of the day, he was his own individual and that s what everyone
down south wanted him to understand. The job the narrator got injured at was a paint factory. The
paint factory used black dope to create a pure white paint. It showed how black people became
invisible as the white man came out on top. Unfortunately in the time of racism, the blacks were
invisible but not blind. Before the exile from his home, the narrator was blind. Although the alienation
was difficult, through adversities and tribulations, the pathway to the light became clearer. Even
though he was unsure of exactly what he wanted, he was no longer blind and no longer blind. He was
in his manhole underground waiting patiently for the answers he knew only he could answer. His
experience from the deep sadness to the realization adds meaning to the book showing that even in
racist times, one could get through it by knowing they re an individual, their true worth and their own

Parking Policies on Campus Essay
As a non traditional student of the University Mary Hardin Baylor, I can say parking policies could
use some changes. I understand the need for parking policies for safety and security reasons, but some
parking rules are just ridiculous. My family has four vehicles, only one of them has a UMHB parking
sticker. This sticker was issued at registration; it is one of the many hidden fees that are added into
tuition. I sometimes drive different vehicles to campus. When I drive different vehicles, I have to go to
campus police to get a temporary parking permit. However, I do have the option to purchase a sticker
for each vehicle, if I want to pay fifteen dollars for each sticker. Another parking issue is that vehicles
cannot be pulled through or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If vehicles have been parked incorrectly, a citation will be issued. I have read several studies that state,
pulling through or backing into a parking space is safer, it is a good idea for several of reasons. It is
easier to pull out into traffic instead of backing out into traffic. There is also a better view when
leaving. When backing out blind spots could cause an accident, pulling out into traffic the driver has
full visibility. The drivers are aware of the other vehicles and pedestrians around them. Then, when
they go to leave, they have good, clear view to pull out. There is even a policy on where students are
allowed to park. If a student parks in the restricted areas, or is parked incorrectly, they will be issued a
citation.
Additional parking stickers mean additional fees for the student. College is already expensive, extra
fees are just a way for the college to get more money. Since all vehicles must have a parking permit I
have to go get a temporary parking permit every time I use other vehicles. This is time consuming and
having to go by the campus police to get a parking permit is inconvenient. I work a full time job as
well as going to college full time, so my time is limited. I drop my youngest son off at school on my
way to campus, so my mornings are already busy. As soon as class is over, I go straight to work. I
leave work to come straight to campus for evening classes. Sometimes, I have just enough time to get
to class. If I have to stop

Under IRC § 162, ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in connection with a trade or business are allowable as business expenses. Under IRC § 212, ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in connection with the production of income, or the management, conservation or maintenance of property held for the production of income are allowable business expenses. The hobby loss rules under IRC § 183 limit the deductibility of certain items with respect to an activity that is not engaged in for profit. The history of IRC § 183 indicates that one of the primary motivating factors behind its passage was Congress desire to create an objective standard to determine whether a taxpayer was carrying on a business for the purpose of realizing a profit or was instead merely attempting to create and utilize losses to offset other income (Nickerson vs Comm, 1983). Cvs Pharmacy Pharmacy Service Improvement at CVS Rhiannon Graham PID: 3634552 Redesign the Pharmacy Service Process at CVS Customer Value Store (CVS) is one of the largest retail drugstores in the United States. CVS has over 4,000 stores and generated revenue of 24.2 billion dollars in 2002. CVS grew at the same rate as other major pharmacy chains, but continued to lose millions of customers due to service issues. These problems led to the implementation of the Pharmacy Service Initiative (PSI). In observations of various stores, as well as interviews with employees, 67 major problems were identified. Following data entry is the production or fulfillment step. This is the step where pharmacists actually fill the prescriptions. The major problem encountered in this step is not having sufficient inventory to fill a prescription. This can be frustrating for the pharmacist and the customer. A possible solution to this problem is to fill the prescription in part; enough to get the customer started on their medication, and then when new shipment arrives fill the remaining portion of the prescription. This would require an entry to the customer s record so that employees know the prescription was only partially filled. Also in order to implement this process, we would need our suppliers to expedite shipping of our restock orders. As a market leader, CVS should have no problem in getting its suppliers to work with them. Perhaps the most critical step in the process occurs after the fulfillment step. This is the quality assurance step (QA). This is where the pharmacists review the prescription to make sure the correct medication/dosages have been used in filling the prescription. This step, though time consuming, is critical, and there are no changes that should be applied to this step because of the extremely low margin for error. The last step in the process is the pickup. This step is most likely the most frustrating one for customers, because often when they come to pick up their prescriptions they are not ready yet. Much of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The comparison of two investment theories applied within financial markets Over time there have been many different theories applied to financial markets which attempt to explain the changes of stock prices and the different trends over time. Investors would often debate whether or not the market is efficient. Put simply, whether or not the market is a reflection of the information made available to the investor at any time. One such theory that attempts to explain the movements and trends of a market is the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH). This particular theory was advocated by Professor Eugene Fama back in 1970 and is regarded as the most widely used investment theory. The EMH states that the stock market is informationally efficient where all stocks are accurately priced based on their investment properties and all investors equally possess the knowledge of these properties. The EMH also states that no investor within the market is able to achieve incredible market returns due to the fact that stocks are always priced at their fair value. The Southern colonies consisted mostly of Anglicans, though some may speculate that the Southerners were more concerned with worshipping wealth. This constrained my choices in terms of what kind of recreational activities I wanted to do. Another factor that separated me from playing sports such as soccer and cricket were economic factors. During the winter season, the only way I could play these sports was if I joined the indoor leagues but these leagues were quite expensive. Coming from a middle class family, these extra expenses were hard to manage and sustain. Soon it became too much and so I had to quit and find other recreational activities to do in my leisure. Due to these various sociocultural factors, my involvement in certain sports was severely hampered while other sports such as basketball were immensely facilitated. • 25. Demographic Transformation Model And The Demographic... The Demographic Transition Model is a simplification for the conventional process of shifts in population growth in our world s countries. The Demographic Transition Model, also known as DTM, is derived from Great Britain s model of their demographic cycle between the 1750s and the 1900s. It consists of five different stages, with the phases being low growth, increasing growth, population explosion, decreasing growth, and declining population. These phases are defined by a triple line graph of the crude birth rate, crude death rate, and the total population per one thousand people. The DTM applies to almost every country, but the different stages of the model the countries fit in varies. There are no countries remaining in Stage 1 anymore. Though, some are making it into Stage 5, and the addition of a Stage 6 is being considered. The purpose of this report is to analyze five varying countries populations from over the years and compare their process to the Demographic Transition Model. By comparing each country with the model and using their population pyramid graphs, the goal is to discover how precisely and where the countries fit. The focus of the procedure of this report is population pyramids. A population pyramid is a graph that illustrates the composition of that population by age and gender. It can provide insight on the political and social aspects of a society, as well as their economy. On the left side, typically, the population is displayed in horizontal ... Although it begins with sportsmanship and teamwork, it begins to evolve into new objectives when these young athletes enter high school. In fact, high school sports are vastly different. Your mind is trained to obliterate the opponent and win at all costs. This mentality can often lead many young athletes to turn to supplements to assist in muscle building. The most common supplement in use currently is Creatine. The answer has yet to be clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The human body will generate half of all needed creatine and ATP on a daily basis. The remaining half is produced from the food that we consume. What this means is that we naturally accumulate almost 100% of the needed energy on a daily basis. When these young athletes now add another 5 15%, the body may undergo some changes or side affects. According to the American College Of Sports Medicine, creatine is not recommended for athletes that work out in heated areas or warm climates. Furthermore, they also warn that adolescents have a much greater risk of damaging their internal organs than adults with a similar level of health. These warnings should serve as a red flag for parents who willingly allow their student athletes to consume creatine as a dietary supplement. In fact, if athletes or parents researched this product they would find that it is not currently regulated by the Food And Drug Administration (FDA). Meanwhile athletic departments all over this country purposely influence athletes to participate in the use of this drug, all in the name of winning. Sadly, high school sports has turned into a method of financial dependency by fiscally strapped public school systems. Meaning that taxpayers pay more in taxes if they earn more in income. For example, taxpayers may pay 25% of their income in taxes up to a certain amount, and 35% of everything earned over that amount. One theory about the use of the progressive taxation is that people or businesses who earn the same or a similar amount of money should be taxed in the same or a similar way. A good example of that theory states that two individuals making $75,000 per year should be taxed the same amount, regardless of how they earned their income. While most countries have some form of progressive taxation, it is usually combined with other taxes, such as a sales tax, and few countries treat all income as exactly the same. This kind of taxation is still in effect today, bigger corporations are taxed more than the smaller mom and pop businesses. The focus of what the government wanted to tax changed over the years, it started with taxing incomes and then moved on to taxing tobacco and distilled spirits and eliminated the income tax in 1872. From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it consists only 8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small fraction of live hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can stay out of the risk of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is 12.3%, so more dead funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the ratio of undercapitalization plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund, we will take a further look into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of variables that would usually have influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable values under the category of adequately capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can determine the key elements that would usually influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. First, the mean of the net asset for the undercapitalized live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the capitalized funds is $206.1 million. The huge difference between these two values means a positive condition in the capital adequacy of the live funds. More live hedge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most prevalent example of this is the Hitler Youth, they were brainwashed using propaganda so they would believe that everything Hitler said was morally right. It is the beginning of 1607, and I am about to start my first voyage after getting the job of attempting to perceive a smaller path to the riches of Asia from Europe via Arctic Ocean. I have obtained high hopes for my commitments, and I am certainly not going to give up. I am acquiring high hopes after a fresh, educational start after graduating from Harvard, but I did have to be a cabin boy for many years in my childhood, from when I was born in 1565. Hopefully, my life will get a bit easier to handle as I am preparing my first voyage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I honestly think that it was part of the Lord s act, as I would encourage the crew to pray everyday. Eventually, spring came along, and the ice cleared up. Even though everything was starting to develop, the crew was in bad shape, vomiting and coughing spit all over the place. I had a conflict on my hands. It was either me continuing the journey to find the passage, or turning back home for these people to get help. I was leaning towards the continuing side, but my son was in bad shape, so I hesitated for a long time. A few months later, in June of 1611, much of my crew had mutinied, and I knew I was going to be swindled. As a matter of fact, much of my crew left by getting on the large vessel. I sent my son with them, because I wanted him to live for a long time. After that event, I was only left with seven others, and it would only take until the end of that year to run out of food, and the water in the river was too cold to drink. Much of the water was ice, and we were really in a tight gap. A month later, my focus came off of the crew and I dozed off and hit the floor of the ship, blacking out and ... • 45. The Invisible Quest The Invisible Quest If I could have any superpower, it d definitely be invisibility is the popular cognitive of the masses. Many people say the perks to invisibility are: being able to be there but not seen and complete freedom to do whatever. But, whimsical thoughts are completely different than the actual experience. Being invisible is being ignored. Being invisible is not being heard even when seen and not being acknowledged even when in the same room. Humans want to be heard, seen, and talked to. And yet, being invisible is being able to have the freedom to be yourself without the worry of other s judgment. In the literary fiction, Invisible Man, the young African American narrator is expelled from his home on his college campus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He didn t have to yes sir and yes ma am every white person because it was the status quo like his grandpa told him to do. At the end of the day, he was his own individual and that s what everyone down south wanted him to understand. The job the narrator got injured at was a paint factory. The paint factory used black dope to create a pure white paint. It showed how black people became invisible as the white man came out on top. Unfortunately in the time of racism, the blacks were invisible but not blind. Before the exile from his home, the narrator was blind. Although the alienation was difficult, through adversities and tribulations, the pathway to the light became clearer. Even though he was unsure of exactly what he wanted, he was no longer blind and no longer blind. He was in his manhole underground waiting patiently for the answers he knew only he could answer. His experience from the deep sadness to the realization adds meaning to the book showing that even in racist times, one could get through it by knowing they re an individual, their true worth and their own ... • 46. Parking Policies on Campus Essay As a non traditional student of the University Mary Hardin Baylor, I can say parking policies could use some changes. I understand the need for parking policies for safety and security reasons, but some parking rules are just ridiculous. My family has four vehicles, only one of them has a UMHB parking sticker. This sticker was issued at registration; it is one of the many hidden fees that are added into tuition. I sometimes drive different vehicles to campus. When I drive different vehicles, I have to go to campus police to get a temporary parking permit. However, I do have the option to purchase a sticker for each vehicle, if I want to pay fifteen dollars for each sticker. Another parking issue is that vehicles cannot be pulled through or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If vehicles have been parked incorrectly, a citation will be issued. I have read several studies that state, pulling through or backing into a parking space is safer, it is a good idea for several of reasons. It is easier to pull out into traffic instead of backing out into traffic. There is also a better view when leaving. When backing out blind spots could cause an accident, pulling out into traffic the driver has full visibility. The drivers are aware of the other vehicles and pedestrians around them. Then, when they go to leave, they have good, clear view to pull out. There is even a policy on where students are allowed to park. If a student parks in the restricted areas, or is parked incorrectly, they will be issued a citation. Additional parking stickers mean additional fees for the student. College is already expensive, extra fees are just a way for the college to get more money. Since all vehicles must have a parking permit I have to go get a temporary parking permit every time I use other vehicles. This is time consuming and having to go by the campus police to get a parking permit is inconvenient. I work a full time job as well as going to college full time, so my time is limited. I drop my youngest son off at school on my way to campus, so my mornings are already busy. As soon as class is over, I go straight to work. I leave work to come straight to campus for evening classes. Sometimes, I have just enough time to get to class. If I have to stop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
