door more often than you think and if anyone were to get caught there would be in huge trouble.

The Wonders of Vitamin C Essay
We live in a society in which we are in a state of constant fear of diseases. From when we are young
we are taught repeatedly to wash our hands before every meal and to eat an apple daily. Moreover, we
are catechized on a regular basis to bundle up so we do not catch a cold or pneumonia. Likewise, our
doctors advise us to visit them annually to make sure we don t have deficiency related disorders such
as scurvy or anemia. What if there is a vitamin that could aid in preventing the aforementioned
illnesses? Would it not be worth a try? Consider this an introduction to vitamin C! Details on this
wonder vitamin are elaborated in the subsequent paragraphs! Several unique attributes distinguish
vitamin C from other substances. Vitamin C is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
INDIRECT QUOTE. Lastly, the nutrient is easily found in the livers of beef and calves as well as in
seafood such as oysters (Nicolaou Montagnon, 2008). Next, we will discuss why vitamin C is critical
for existence. Vitamin C is crucial for survival for several reasons. For a human body to reach the
acme of its physical potential, it must have a daily intake of vitamin C. Deficiency can lead to a fatal
symptom known as scurvy. Likewise, iron absorption will be more difficult resulting in iron
deficiency anemia (Smith, Primio Humphrey Murto, 2011). However, this nutrient is essential for
bodily functions as well. Vitamin C is required for hormone production which is seen by the fact that
the highest concentration of it in the human body is in the pituitary and adrenal glands (Emsley, 2004).
Moreover, this vitamin aids in protection against free radicals and stress. Vitamin C is also imperative
because it assists in the growth of various body parts, including teeth, cartilage, and dentine. This acid
is integral for bone development and to heal fractured or broken bones. As said before, Vitamin C is
important in the absorption and metabolism of many nutrients that affect production of red blood cells
, including iron absorption (Smith, Primio, Humphrey Murto, 2011). DIRECT QUOTE WITHOUT

the alcohol for growth processes.

Executioner In Brave New World
The Servant Executioner
Omar N. Bradley once said, If we continue to develop our technology without wisdom or prudence,
our servant may prove to be our executioner ( Technology Quotes. ). Bradley denotes that without
caution and knowledge of what mankind technologically creates, mankind could fall into an abusive
relationship and struggle to live with said technology. He further implies it could end mankind as a
whole and that it could be mankind s executioner. Aldous Huxley in Brave New World, shows readers
a world that depicts how accurate Omar Bradley really is. Humans have not physically died or been
killed by technology in Brave New World, but it has caused the systematic death of their personal
liberties. In Aldous Huxley s novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He shows that a government would not be ready to handle the power of said technologies if they were
to advance at the rate that they had been. These technologies would give power to the government to
control and oppress their people in an abusive manner. The twentieth century has seen so many
scientific ideas appropriated by governmental bureaucracies for human and environmentally
destructive purposes... (Baker Dangers of Consumerism 82). Huxley predicts this very event in his
novel through technological conditioning, advances in eugenics, and mass production of drugs. In his
satirical depiction of the society in Brave New World, he wants readers to take away that technology,
when allowed to grow rampantly, oppresses the people that created it. This parallels to modern
societies much like governments who fund experiments to create human life from within a laboratory
within the need for human intervention. Another key parallel to modern society was the degradation of
personal freedoms. Most notably freedom of thought and human rights through the government s
oppressive rule, seen in many totalitarian government systems such as North Korea. Universal themes
seen in the novel that all readers can identify with include that wisdom and prudence are necessary in
the creation of powerful technologies and tools to protect all

Racism And Stereotypes In Hollywood
The world of cinema was created with the purpose of displaying stories of White people, for White
people and by White people. When it comes to African Americans the world of cinema has
predetermined roles for them. These roles are the stereotypical uneducated slave, domestic worker,
mammy, hyper sexualized harlot and tap dancing uncle tom. These stereotypes given to highly
talented and educated African American actors and actresses have evolved over the years but no
matter the time African Americans in starring roles have to portray a stereotype of some kind in order
to be successful in Hollywood. Over the course of the semester nine films were viewed spanning from
the early 1930 s to the middle of the 1970 s. These films include Emperor Jones (1933), Princess Tam
Tam (1935), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stormy Weather (1943), Carmen Jones (1954), Black Orpheus
(1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Nothing but A Man (1964) and Claudine (1974). In each of these
films we see how these stereotypes are portrayed, exploited and evolved throughout the years to
disguise Hollywood s racism. Hollywood s history of racism and stereotypes is explained well through
the work of literature Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks by Donald Bogle. The film
industry in Hollywood has many notable and praised films in its early years which are blatantly racist
and depict African Americans in a very stereotypical light. These films include D.W. Griffith s The
Birth of a Nation (1915), which

The name of action or event can be transferred into something that predate and follow the change. For
example, in English, collation now defined into different meaning perbandingan and makanan ringan
where as both of them are relates. Previously, in Catholic ceremony the reading from Collationes
Patrum by Cassian usually read before the end of mass, it followed by snack which called collation
because the snack related with the reading. So, the name of book followed by the snack that also

Personal Statement On Family Therapy
Abstract Family Therapy can be implemented in a different ways in a program that provides a facet of
services, but it s imperative that the approaches used are appropriate for the individual or families
utilizing services. Functional Family Therapy is used to help deal with substance abuse in families but
can also be used to assist with behavioral issues in children. A well rounded family service program
can not only use this one approach but utilize other approaches to meet the needs of the population

The Reproduction of Inequality
Definitions In relation to the topic, MacLeod explains social reproduction as the theory that explains
how societal institutions perpetuate or reproduce the social relationships and attitudes needed to
sustain the existing relations of production in a capitalist society. (MacLeod 9) In this definition, the
societal institutions are places like, government offices, and schools. These institutions according to
him help continue to maintain the status quo by preserving the existing barriers between classes. To
investigate this there are two main ways to analyze the situation, one can use the advocate
deterministic model or the model that focuses more on the autonomy of the individual. The
deterministic model takes into account the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The final form of capital referenced is the cultural kind. This primarily deals with, from the section
entitled Cultural Capital and Habitus: Bourdieu s Theory of Reproduction, the general cultural
background, knowledge, disposition, and skills that are passed form one generation to the next.
(MacLeod 12) One term related to this premise is habitus, in the same article, Macleod referenced
Bourdieu in relation to this topic. Bourdieu s habitus is composed of the attitudes, beliefs, and
experiences of those inhabiting one s social world (MacLeod 13) and this combination results in
profoundly internalized beliefs and values that influence an individuals reactions toward various
aspects of life, most notable in this situation, education. What is most notable about this is how the
educational system reacts to these ideas of capital. In the article, Bourdieu comments, among all the
solutions put forward throughout history to the problem of the transmission of power and privileges ...
[the] solution which the educational system provides by contributing to the reproduction of the
structure of class relations and by concealing ... the fact that it fills this function. (Bourdieu 72) He
says this because the belief is that schools hold a neutral attitude when it comes to the ideas of capital.

The Pros And Cons Of Sugary Food
Sugar is a good ingredient for cooking, however, sugary foods can bring a lot of negative influences to
the human body, such as obesity, so this essay will introduce some knowledge about negative
externalities, government measures and the effects of excessive consumption of sugary foods.
Meanwhile, it will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the imposition of tax and compare it to
alternative solutions.
Externality is a kind of market failure that all allocation of goods and services is not efficient.
Externalities is effects of activities on outside third parties, which is also called Spillover Effect . It
will occur when there is a difference between social costs or benefits and private costs or benefits.
Positive externality represents by benefits, so if social benefit is greater than private benefits, there
will be a positive externality. For instance, inoculation and education. In contrast, negative externality
represents by the costs, so if social costs are greater than private costs, there will be a negative
externality. For instance, pollution, traffic congestion and obesity. ... Show more content on

Regulation means that the government sets rules to make it more difficult for firms to produce, for
example, quantity restriction. If companies do not follow the regulation, they have to pay penalty.
Permits means that the government can set a maximum allowed amount, and then it will issue permits
to each firm. Firms can gain by reducing production or using cleaner methods to reduce pollution
because permits can be traded and firms cannot exceed permitted amount. Tax is also a good way to
remedy negative externalities. The government use tax to control the price, meanwhile to reduce the
consumption. In most cases, tax rates of those externalities should equal to the value of the externality.

Birth Control History
This essay will examine the demand for and prevalence of contraceptives in the United States. The
history of birth control in the U.S. begins long before the infamous 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court
decision affirming the legality of abortion. Birth control has not always been accessible, safe or
reliable. Despite many myths, there are a multitude of reasons why a woman would choose to prevent
or end a pregnancy including not being able to support a child.
Before examining birth control, it s important to first dispel the myth that birth control and particularly
abortion is only sought by modern, unmarried women who are more promiscuous than women in
earlier ages. America was never abstinent. It s a myth that more teens and young adults have ... Show

The Convention Of Seneca Falls
The Convention of Seneca Falls was held in central New York. The convention lasted for two full days
on the dates of July 19 and 20th in the year 1848. Elizabeth Stanton decided to hold a gathering to
discuss the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of woman. Stanton led the convention with
the help of friend Lucretia Mott. The articles states that the Convention of Seneca Falls is what helped
to open up the idea of equality for both genders saying that it marked the beginning of the seventy
year struggle for women s suffrage. Stanton and Mott had first became acquainted in England at the
World Anti Slavery Convention. This was the same conference that refused to accommodate Mott and
other representatives due to the fact that they were women. Lucretia Mott was a woman in her mid
forties, she was a Quaker minister, feminist, and abolitionist. Stanton composed a document called the
Declaration of Sentiments. The Declaration of Sentiments was a document declaring the given rights
of women. This document is what defined the convention. It was slightly based off of the Declaration
of Independence. The Convention of Seneca Falls was announced to the citizens by a small, unsigned
notice placed in the Seneca County Courier. The first day of the convention was reserved solely for
women to discuss and debate on the Declaration of Sentiments document. On the second day of the
convention, they opened it for all people to attend. Frederick Douglass gave a powerful speech

The Federal Government Budget Process
When it comes to the government not many people fully understand what is going on, especially when
it comes to the budget and how they decide what to spend things on. Some people just tend to look at
a country and see a huge amount of debt and just assume that the country isn t doing well. When
people look at the United States of America they see a country that is a world power. People see a
country that overcame many conflicts and is still trying to develop further, as much as possible. A
country that has a lot of opportunities. But those opportunities would be in place if there wasn t a

The first step to creating the federal government budget is the President submits a budget request to
Congress. The executive branch gets requests from the federal agencies saying that different things
and projects need money or that they don t need money. So basically they discuss what project is more
important. Yet these are all only proposals so they can either be accepted or denied depending on what
the people think the country needs.
The second step to creating the federal government budget is the House and Senate pass budget
resolutions. A budget resolution is not a binding document, but it provides a framework for Congress
for making budget decisions about spending and taxes. In this process they set limits but do not create
the actual budgets for the programs. After the House and Senate pass their budget resolutions, some
members from each come together in a joint conference to iron out differences between the two
versions, and the resulting reconciled version is then voted on again by each chamber.
The third step to creating the federal government budget is the House and Senate Appropriations

Amory Lovins’ Logic in Natural Capitalism Essay
Amory Lovins Logic in Natural Capitalism
In the first chapter of Natural Capitalism, author Amory Lovins proposes a new method of capitalism
that recognizes the importance of natural and human capital in the industrial system. Conventional
capitalism places value only on capital that yields financial gain, and ignores the human and natural
parts of the equation. Lovins points to this as the reason for many of the environmental, social, and
economic problems on our planet today. He argues that the destructive practices of conventional
capitalism must cease, and that a new industrial revolution must happen that will change how human
beings support themselves and sustain the resources of the planet. In this chapter he ... Show more

Lovins contrast of sustainable methods versus destructive methods convinces the readers to agree with
his claim and follow his proposed changes.
He discusses four key strategies for implementing natural capitalism; radical resource productivity,
biomimicry, service and flow economy, and investing in natural capital. Radical resource productivity
involves finding every way possible to increase the usage that humans get from natural resources. This
lowers the cost of materials and decreases the amount of pollution due to wasteful consumption of
resources. Biomimicry is the term given for modeling the mechanical processes of our industries after
the self sustaining and interdependent processes found in nature. Such a transformation would make
factories more efficient and less polluting. Creating a service and flow economy means that consumers
would pay for the service a product provides instead of buying the product itself. Instead of throwing
away worn out products, consumers can just return them to the manufacturer, who will repair them or
recycle them. Investing in natural capital means that corporations value living systems. In this sort of
system, logging companies would value not only the lumber that they harvest, but the forest habitat
where the trees came from as well. This gives companies motivation to not strip a forest bare because
they now profit from a thriving forest habitat. This Lovins calls these points the basis of

Social Inequality In Urbanization
Urbanization is a complex phenomenon that brought multitudes of diverse social groups together into
one central location. Suddenly cities began to overflow with new cultures and ethnicities that gave
communities vibrant characteristics and new life. People were able to access modern conveniences
and socially network among thousands of individuals, all within one city. The economics of the city
allowed for greater production and a thriving business system that promoted politics and business.
Products from all over the world could be accessible somewhere in the vast cities that expanded across
the United States. However, even from the beginning of this glorious migration to cities, inequality
was embedded in the social system of stigmas and prejudice for minority populations (Gottdiener, M.,
Hutchison, R., Ryan, M., 2015). As wealth and prosperity consumed the dominating Caucasian
population, inequality and disadvantage settled over minorities such as Blacks and Latinos. Quickly,
racial and ethic groups divided into segregated communities within urban societies inner cities. The
pseudo blanket of togetherness , as one community, was hiding the disadvantages and biases that
limited the growth of minority groups in economics, society, and social mobility. Limitations were set
by the dominating social groups that encouraged discrimination and prejudice towards minorities
(Gottdiener, 2015). Even after decades of civil rights movements and freedom for all protests, little

Sa s The Organisation Contexts Of Projects Essay
SA 2 THE ORGANISATION CONTEXTS OF PROJECTS:
INTRODUCTION:
The success of any organisation or project depends on proper synchronization of different supportive
factors ranging from full understanding and application of general organizational philosophy, proper
use of resources, prudent leadership and dependable systems of a particular business set up.
Organizational systems or structures are not static as they are directly linked to the strategies in place
at a particular time Media: (50 Lessons, (2004) ). All these factors are important for effective project
execution and realization of organisation goals. With the foregoing dependencies, it is imperative
therefore, that project managers study the mission and vision statements of the organisations that they
work in or work for so that they work well while knowing the kind of organisation culture that
surround them and the general expectations thereof. As organization cultures and labour force in place
differ from industry to industry, project managers decisions on team role composition are therefore
influenced by varying contextual situations in which projects that they lead exist.

ROLE APPLICATION:

quality and quantity, this poetry compares very well with the English poetry that Indians wrote from
the days of Derozio and Kashi prasad Ghosh till 1947; that in both quality and quantity, this poetry

The Nazi Regime Depended More on Broad Popularity Than...
The Nazi regime depended more on broad popularity than terror in the years 1933 39. Throughout the
years 1933 1939, the Nazis consolidated and strengthened their power over the German people in a
number of ways. The debate as to whether they depended on their broad popularity or on terror has
been argued by historians ever since. The view given by Gellately in Source 4 strongly agrees with
that in the question, whereas Evans, in Source 5 combines the terror and popularity aspects of the
regime and says that the German people perceived terror as being popular. Johnson presents the view
that the selective nature of Nazi terror created a sense of security for German citizens who should have
nothing to worry about. However, on any level it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this, the Nazi government arranged the production of the People s Receiver (a cheaper
version of the radio) and by 1939 70% of German homes had a radio which was the highest national
figure in the world. It was benefits like these that gave the German people a genuine reason to support
the regime. This was added to by the reduction in unemployment throughout the period which made
many people think that the dictatorship would, in the long term have a positive impact on the country
and the position of Germany on an international scale. A further argument within this controversy is
that the regime relied on the selective nature of terror in the regime between 1933 1939. Johnson in
Source 6 says that Nazi terror lies in its selective nature . Though it is undoubtedly true that Nazi
terror had a selective nature, Johnson goes on to say that the regime dismissed expressions of non
conformity and mild disobedience on the part of other citizens . He is therefore implying that the
Nazis viewed active opposition as a threat but didn t see non conformity as an act of opposition.
However, this can be argued as members of the Swing Youth were punished and Himmler and
Heinrich actually wanted to put the ringleaders into concentration camps. However, the Swing Youth
didn t politically oppose the Nazi regime but simply wanted to avoid the German hit tunes at the time
in order to listen to jazz and

The Pros And Cons Of Dehumanization In America
Carolina, the states agreed to keep slavery legal under the constitution. Northerners and Southerners
had different views of slaves being considered as property tax and being a counted as an individual
into the population for power and economic reasons. To solve the differences the three fifth
compromises became there solution. Rather than each slave being counted as a person, three fifths of a
state s slave population would be counted toward that state s total population. In this way slaves
became three fifths of a human. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). The act of dehumanization to those of African
descent caused European individual to feel superior. A significant portion of the population viewed
Africans as a lesser species of human than those of European descent. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). This
action showed that it was greatly accepted that blacks were inferior. Dehumanizing a race causes self
hatred and acts of low self esteem towards those being oppressed. The people of European descent
started to develop cognitive dissonance which became detrimental to the black race. Cognitive
Dissonance causes human beings not to function well unless all dissonance is removed because it
drives a great deal of discomfort. The discomfort is caused by discord thinking which occurs when
there s conflict with what you believe and behaviors that goes against their belief. In order for the
Europeans to remove cognitive dissonance they had to either own up to the negative act and address
the harm

Dandie Dinmont Research Paper
Although once popular as a badger and fox hunter, the Dandie Dinmont is now kept mainly as a
household pet. However, they fare batter living indoors as a single pet than living with their fellows in
kennels. They do, however tend to be a little suspicious of strangers, giving all their devotion to their
owner. They are excellent guard dogs with a bark that should deter any burglar. The size of this dog
breed may reach a height of 11 inches at the top of the shoulder. The ideal weight for a Dandie
Dinmont in good condition is approximately 18 pounds. Brief History: Most Dandies can be traced
back to the late 1700s, to an individual named Piper Allan, something of a character of his day. He had
two Dandie Dinmonts, called Charlie and

Religious Freedom In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood
In The Handmaid s Tale written by Margaret Atwood, the Republic of Gilead follows the Biblical
rules determining the chain of statutes; this use of religious constitution hugely restricts such
fundamental personal freedoms of the citizens of Gilead. These essential freedoms may be expressed
as the freedom of belief and freedom of choice which impacts both the religious beliefs and the
lifestyle of the citizens. Today, most Muslim majority countries adopt numerous aspects of Sharia law,
a legal code derived from Quran and Hadith, which circumscribes many personal freedoms. In both
situations, the restriction of freedom may cause the establishment of chaos and citizens to have inner
conflicts.

A religion s rules must stay between the devout people only as taboos; implication of sect into the
legislation system and governance not only threatens the wellbeing of country s own citizens, but it
also prevents any kind of brain drain into the country which is an essential source of progression for
any community. Therefore, governments should only be serving for the well being of the citizens,
peace and democracy among the country; the youth should embrace the values United Nations strictly
recognizes and be aware that it is best when the religion is separated from governance. Secularism
must be recognized which is a case only possible if there is a massive change in the governments of
these religious countries; citizens must be informed about inconveniences caused by religious laws

Agenda Setting In The Movie Rocky IV
Agenda Setting is a theory that has the ability to influence the salience of topics on the public agenda.
It is a very dangerous, but helpful tactic that many mainstream media use in order to powerfully
influence the public. Media has the ability to shape and mold the most important news of the time, and
this is highly evident in the OJ Simpson Case and the famous Movie Rocky IV. Nicole Brown and OJ
Simpson had two children and divorced due to Simpson s multiple investigation for domestic violence
and spousal abuse. Sadly, on June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown and her partner were found murdered
outside her condominium with multiple stab wounds on her neck. The evidence linked to the murders
connected to OJ Simpson, and was enough evidence to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie is about a star boxer of the Soviet Union, Ivan Drago, who wants to take on the World
champion, Rocky Balboa. However, his friend Apollo Creed challenges him, and he dies after getting
hit by one knockout punch from the Soviet star. Rocky, enraged by the death of his friend, decides to
take on the Soviet monster. 1985 was around the time the Cold War began to end, and this movie was
agenda setting at it s finest. The movie shows an American getting killed by the harsh and cold ideals
of the Russians, but only to end with a fierce and loyal American stopping his rein and showing the
American people that they, once again, are the greatest in the world. Mainstream media sets its agenda
once again by focusing the public opinion to be focused on American finally beating the Soviet Union.
Rather than allowing the people to form their own opinion regarding the harsh reality of the cold war,
the media put a spin on it to show that America had truly won the war, even though there was nothing
to be gained. The movie created an intense emotional rollercoaster similar to the tension between the
two rivalling countries during the Cold War for the public. The American people truly believed that
winning the Cold War involved some type of battle in a foreign ground, rather than through
negotiations and communication. Though the war had ended in 1985, there are still issues of trust that

Examples Of Sin In Carrie By Stephen King

The Role Of Dysphasia In Parkinson s Disease
What is dysphasia? Dysphasia is defined as the difficulty of food moving from the mouth to the
stomach (Logemann, 1983); however, this definition can be expanded. According to Logemann
(1983), this definition has been expanded to include all of the motor, behavioral, and sensory acts that
are needed to prepare the body for the process of the swallow as well as cognitive abilities, and
physiological responses to the smell of the food or liquid. A disorder can occur to any of these
functions, so typically the process is broken down by the phases of the swallow. Such as, oral
dysphasia, pharyngeal dysphasia, and esophageal dysphasia (Logemann, 1983). The list of signs and
symptoms are endless due to the fact that the process has so many steps, ... Show more content on

In recent years statistics have shown that this occurs anywhere from one third for four fifths of
patients who have been diagnosed with Parkinson s disease. According to Rajaei et al. (2014), the
statistics are higher, saying that oropharyngeal dysphasia occurs in up to 80% of Parkinson s patients
but increases up to 95 100% of patients in the latter more progressed stages of the disease. This occurs
because of the motor loss in the patient s body from the lack of dopamine being produced in the brain
(Ellerston et al., 2016). According to (Argolo et al., 2013), rigidity and brandykinesia formed in the
oralpharyngeal muscles, lack of coordination between breathing and swallowing, and the loss or
reduction of sensation in the oral cavity and pharynx are all involved in the patients dysphasia.
Ellerston et al. (2016) reviewed studies done on Parkinson s patients diagnosed with dysphasia using
videofluoroscopic modified barium swallow (MBS) study. According to Ellerston et al. (2016), these
studies revealed that the patients had impaired laryngeal movement, palatal elevation deficits, lack of
epiglottic movement, anterior hyoid bone movement, and vocal fold adduction deficits. The modified
barium swallowing studies also revealed that the patients with Parkinson s also showed prolonged
pharyngeal transit times (Ellerston et al., 2016). Because of these deficits in the musculature Ellerston
et al.(2016), reported that it would lead to vallecular pooling and residue, possible laryngeal
penetration, and possible aspiration which could lead to respiratory illnesses or aspiration pneumonia.
Ellerston et al. (2016), also revealed from reviewing past literature that when comparing the patients
results of the bedside screening to the results of the MBS, almost 80% of the swallowing disorders
went unnoticed, including patients who were aspirating. Ellerston et

Dependency of curd mass on four different types of milk (Non Fat, Low Fat, Reduced Fat, Whole)
using lemon juice
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to determine if lemon juice would cause the different fat levels in
milk to affect the curd mass.
Background Information
The major components of milk are water, fat, proteins, lactose, carbohydrates, and minerals
(dairyprocessinghandbook.com) with the main proteins in milk being casein and whey. When the
casein protein separates from the whey, fat, and lactose in the milk, the product is micellar casein.
These micelles have a negative charge, are not soluble in water and moreover, repel each other, which
keeps them suspended in the milk solution.
Milk has a natural pH level that resides just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tim Burton Diversity
Tim Burton is a very famous director that has many exceptional works. Some of his greatest include:
Beetlejuice, The Nightmare before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie s Chocolate Factory,
Edward Scissorhands, (most all of them have Johnny Depp in them). There is a lot of talk going on
right now about Tim Burton s new movie, Miss Peregrine s Home for Peculiar Children . Tim Burton
is an incredible director with award winning films, so what makes this one any different? Burton s
newest movie is having quite the battle on Twitter. There has been an outrage because of the all white
cast in the movie. Everyone acting in the movie is white, except Samuel L. Jackson. Many people
have been tweeting about how wrong Burton was for being so discriminating ... Show more content on

In fact, it should be how more people look at things now. The people posting on twitter are saying it is
intentional, he has a lack of diversity because of racism, but that is not the case. Burton later talks
about how he hires for talent, not color. Samuel L. Jackson was asked how he felt about being the only
African American character in the movie. He states, I may have been the first (black character in a
Tim Burton movie), I don t know, or the most prominent in that particular way, but it happens the way
it happens, Jackson said. I don t think it s any fault of his or his method of storytelling, it s just how it
s played out. Tim s a really great guy. This says a lot about Samuel L. Jackson and society. He was on
the set, in the film, and he did not feel discriminated by Tim. The whole thing was an attack from
Twitter users for absolutely not excuse. If the African American in the film didn t see Burton s actions
as racist or un diverse then why was the rest of society? If someone came in for a job interview and
had every talent in the world right for the job, but a ethnically diverse person came in and applied for
the same position and you gave the job to the black/Asian/Spanish person just because of their skin,
then wouldn t that be racist too, or is it only racist when white people do

Duality Of Apollo And Dionysus
This is particularly evident in the Ecce Homo s passages devoted to the duality of Apollo and
Dionysus. Here Nietzsche openly attacks this concept as a crypto Hegelian idea ruling over the course
of history. Moreover, he brands the same with the here clearly negative label of metaphysicslii. Thus,
as of 1888 and just before his eventual psychological collapse, we can see how Nietzsche chastised
some of his own early positions in the same way he did with Socratism . These too are now nothing
but expressions of dogmatic and one sided blindness, and thus obstacles to the necessary self
overcoming of humanity. However, we might ask how these criticisms square with the appreciative
comments about BT that we mentioned above, and in general with ... Show more content on

What changes is rather the understanding of art s content what in the late stages of his work Nietzsche
calls the Wisdom of Dionysus , an expression he already employs in BTlvii. However, now this
wisdom is not a source of consolation anymore, but rather of an attitude pushing toward the
affirmative overcoming of oneselflviii. This wisdom, flows from a proper metaphysical understanding
of life, which is now finally unbounded by any suspect metaphysical duality. Hence, I hold that it is
not too daring to see in this wisdom a new unblinded metaphysics that the author resorts to herald in
his 1880 s writings, and which also springs from the Will, now conceived as Will to Power. If now the
tension of Apollo and Dionysus falls in the field of Socratism , we can still see in the satyrs chorus an
anticipation of Nietzsche s later themes as he himself aknowledges toward the end of the Attempt to
Self Criticismlix. Simply, the affirmation of existence now takes place without any reference to some
metaphysical framework smelling of Socrates or even Hegel, but rather in the drive of the Will to

Another key parallel to modern society was the degradation of personal freedoms. This lowers the cost of materials and decreases the amount of pollution due to wasteful consumption of resources. Biomimicry is the term given for modeling the mechanical processes of our industries after the self sustaining and interdependent processes found in nature. The economics of the city allowed for greater production and a thriving business system that promoted politics and business. Because of this, the Nazi government arranged the production of the People s Receiver (a cheaper version of the radio) and by 1939 70% of German homes had a radio which was the highest national figure in the world. It was benefits like these that gave the German people a genuine reason to support the regime. This was added to by the reduction in unemployment throughout the period which made many people think that the dictatorship would, in the long term have a positive impact on the country and the position of Germany on an international scale. A further argument within this controversy is that the regime relied on the selective nature of terror in the regime between 1933 1939. Johnson in Source 6 says that Nazi terror lies in its selective nature . Though it is undoubtedly true that Nazi terror had a selective nature, Johnson goes on to say that the regime dismissed expressions of non conformity and mild disobedience on the part of other citizens . He is therefore implying that the Nazis viewed active opposition as a threat but didn t see non conformity as an act of opposition. However, this can be argued as members of the Swing Youth were punished and Himmler and Heinrich actually wanted to put the ringleaders into concentration camps. However, the Swing Youth didn t politically oppose the Nazi regime but simply wanted to avoid the German hit tunes at the time in order to listen to jazz and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. The Pros And Cons Of Dehumanization In America Carolina, the states agreed to keep slavery legal under the constitution. Northerners and Southerners had different views of slaves being considered as property tax and being a counted as an individual into the population for power and economic reasons. To solve the differences the three fifth compromises became there solution. Rather than each slave being counted as a person, three fifths of a state s slave population would be counted toward that state s total population. In this way slaves became three fifths of a human. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). The act of dehumanization to those of African descent caused European individual to feel superior. A significant portion of the population viewed Africans as a lesser species of human than those of European descent. (DeGruy, 2005, pg. 51). This action showed that it was greatly accepted that blacks were inferior. Dehumanizing a race causes self hatred and acts of low self esteem towards those being oppressed. The people of European descent started to develop cognitive dissonance which became detrimental to the black race. Cognitive Dissonance causes human beings not to function well unless all dissonance is removed because it drives a great deal of discomfort. The discomfort is caused by discord thinking which occurs when there s conflict with what you believe and behaviors that goes against their belief. In order for the Europeans to remove cognitive dissonance they had to either own up to the negative act and address the harm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Religious Freedom In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood In The Handmaid s Tale written by Margaret Atwood, the Republic of Gilead follows the Biblical rules determining the chain of statutes; this use of religious constitution hugely restricts such fundamental personal freedoms of the citizens of Gilead. These essential freedoms may be expressed as the freedom of belief and freedom of choice which impacts both the religious beliefs and the lifestyle of the citizens. Today, most Muslim majority countries adopt numerous aspects of Sharia law, a legal code derived from Quran and Hadith, which circumscribes many personal freedoms. In both situations, the restriction of freedom may cause the establishment of chaos and citizens to have inner conflicts. When a country s laws are based on moral and ethical ... It is a very dangerous, but helpful tactic that many mainstream media use in order to powerfully influence the public. Media has the ability to shape and mold the most important news of the time, and this is highly evident in the OJ Simpson Case and the famous Movie Rocky IV. Nicole Brown and OJ Simpson had two children and divorced due to Simpson s multiple investigation for domestic violence and spousal abuse. Sadly, on June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown and her partner were found murdered outside her condominium with multiple stab wounds on her neck. However, his friend Apollo Creed challenges him, and he dies after getting hit by one knockout punch from the Soviet star. Rocky, enraged by the death of his friend, decides to take on the Soviet monster. 1985 was around the time the Cold War began to end, and this movie was agenda setting at it s finest. The movie shows an American getting killed by the harsh and cold ideals of the Russians, but only to end with a fierce and loyal American stopping his rein and showing the American people that they, once again, are the greatest in the world. Mainstream media sets its agenda once again by focusing the public opinion to be focused on American finally beating the Soviet Union. Rather than allowing the people to form their own opinion regarding the harsh reality of the cold war, the media put a spin on it to show that America had truly won the war, even though there was nothing to be gained. The movie created an intense emotional rollercoaster similar to the tension between the two rivalling countries during the Cold War for the public. The American people truly believed that winning the Cold War involved some type of battle in a foreign ground, rather than through negotiations and communication. Though the war had ended in 1985, there are still issues of trust that both America and Russia ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Role Of Dysphasia In Parkinson s Disease What is dysphasia? Dysphasia is defined as the difficulty of food moving from the mouth to the stomach (Logemann, 1983); however, this definition can be expanded. According to Logemann (1983), this definition has been expanded to include all of the motor, behavioral, and sensory acts that are needed to prepare the body for the process of the swallow as well as cognitive abilities, and physiological responses to the smell of the food or liquid. A disorder can occur to any of these functions, so typically the process is broken down by the phases of the swallow. Such as, oral dysphasia, pharyngeal dysphasia, and esophageal dysphasia (Logemann, 1983). The list of signs and symptoms are endless due to the fact that the process has so many steps, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In recent years statistics have shown that this occurs anywhere from one third for four fifths of patients who have been diagnosed with Parkinson s disease. According to Rajaei et al. (2014), the statistics are higher, saying that oropharyngeal dysphasia occurs in up to 80% of Parkinson s patients but increases up to 95 100% of patients in the latter more progressed stages of the disease. This occurs because of the motor loss in the patient s body from the lack of dopamine being produced in the brain (Ellerston et al., 2016). According to (Argolo et al., 2013), rigidity and brandykinesia formed in the oralpharyngeal muscles, lack of coordination between breathing and swallowing, and the loss or reduction of sensation in the oral cavity and pharynx are all involved in the patients dysphasia. Ellerston et al. (2016) reviewed studies done on Parkinson s patients diagnosed with dysphasia using videofluoroscopic modified barium swallow (MBS) study. According to Ellerston et al. (2016), these studies revealed that the patients had impaired laryngeal movement, palatal elevation deficits, lack of epiglottic movement, anterior hyoid bone movement, and vocal fold adduction deficits. The modified barium swallowing studies also revealed that the patients with Parkinson s also showed prolonged pharyngeal transit times (Ellerston et al., 2016). Because of these deficits in the musculature Ellerston et al.(2016), reported that it would lead to vallecular pooling and residue, possible laryngeal penetration, and possible aspiration which could lead to respiratory illnesses or aspiration pneumonia. Ellerston et al. (2016), also revealed from reviewing past literature that when comparing the patients results of the bedside screening to the results of the MBS, almost 80% of the swallowing disorders went unnoticed, including patients who were aspirating. Milk Lab Report Dependency of curd mass on four different types of milk (Non Fat, Low Fat, Reduced Fat, Whole) using lemon juice Purpose The purpose of this experiment was to determine if lemon juice would cause the different fat levels in milk to affect the curd mass. Background Information The major components of milk are water, fat, proteins, lactose, carbohydrates, and minerals (dairyprocessinghandbook.com) with the main proteins in milk being casein and whey. When the casein protein separates from the whey, fat, and lactose in the milk, the product is micellar casein. These micelles have a negative charge, are not soluble in water and moreover, repel each other, which keeps them suspended in the milk solution. Milk has a natural pH level that resides just ... There is a lot of talk going on right now about Tim Burton s new movie, Miss Peregrine s Home for Peculiar Children . Tim Burton is an incredible director with award winning films, so what makes this one any different? Burton s newest movie is having quite the battle on Twitter. The people posting on twitter are saying it is intentional, he has a lack of diversity because of racism, but that is not the case. Burton later talks about how he hires for talent, not color. Samuel L. Jackson was asked how he felt about being the only African American character in the movie. He states, I may have been the first (black character in a Tim Burton movie), I don t know, or the most prominent in that particular way, but it happens the way it happens, Jackson said. I don t think it s any fault of his or his method of storytelling, it s just how it s played out. Tim s a really great guy. This says a lot about Samuel L. Jackson and society. He was on the set, in the film, and he did not feel discriminated by Tim. The whole thing was an attack from Twitter users for absolutely not excuse. If the African American in the film didn t see Burton s actions as racist or un diverse then why was the rest of society? If someone came in for a job interview and had every talent in the world right for the job, but a ethnically diverse person came in and applied for the same position and you gave the job to the black/Asian/Spanish person just because of their skin, then wouldn t that be racist too, or is it only racist when white people do ... • 32. Duality Of Apollo And Dionysus This is particularly evident in the Ecce Homo s passages devoted to the duality of Apollo and Dionysus. Here Nietzsche openly attacks this concept as a crypto Hegelian idea ruling over the course of history. Moreover, he brands the same with the here clearly negative label of metaphysicslii. Thus, as of 1888 and just before his eventual psychological collapse, we can see how Nietzsche chastised some of his own early positions in the same way he did with Socratism . These too are now nothing but expressions of dogmatic and one sided blindness, and thus obstacles to the necessary self overcoming of humanity. However, we might ask how these criticisms square with the appreciative comments about BT that we mentioned above, and in general with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What changes is rather the understanding of art s content what in the late stages of his work Nietzsche calls the Wisdom of Dionysus , an expression he already employs in BTlvii. However, now this wisdom is not a source of consolation anymore, but rather of an attitude pushing toward the affirmative overcoming of oneselflviii. This wisdom, flows from a proper metaphysical understanding of life, which is now finally unbounded by any suspect metaphysical duality. Hence, I hold that it is not too daring to see in this wisdom a new unblinded metaphysics that the author resorts to herald in his 1880 s writings, and which also springs from the Will, now conceived as Will to Power. If now the tension of Apollo and Dionysus falls in the field of Socratism , we can still see in the satyrs chorus an anticipation of Nietzsche s later themes as he himself aknowledges toward the end of the Attempt to Self Criticismlix. Simply, the affirmation of existence now takes place without any reference to some metaphysical framework smelling of Socrates or even Hegel, but rather in the drive of the Will to ...
