Gospel Essentials Of Christianity
Gospel Essentials In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth (Zondervan Study Bible
NIV, Genesis 1:1). This is a well known Bible verse and it also happens to be the very first one. If one
is said to believe this verse, then they makes them a Christian. But is this statement really true? To be
a Christian, do you just have to believe that God created the Earth and everything in it? No,
Christianity is much more than that. The term worldview has been defined as a foundational set of
assumptions to which one commits that serves as a framework for understanding and interpreting
reality and deeply shapes one s behavior (Krise 2015). Now, what makes the Christian worldview?

Jesus, the second part to the Trinity was sent down to Earth to save all of humanity. He is God, yet He
is man. Jesus saved humanity through the incarnation, atonement, and resurrection. Incarnation refers
to God becoming man and dwelling with us (Krise 2015). John 3:16, states For God so love the world,
that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting
life (Zondervan Study Bible NIV, John 3:16). God had a plan to save humanity, using Jesus to redeem
people for their sins. The atonement refers to Jesus accepting what He must do to save humanity. A
bible verse that explains the atonement is Isaiah 53:4 5, Surely he took up our pain and bore our
suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced
for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on
him, and by his wounds we are healed (Zondervan Study Bible NIV, Isaiah 53:4 5) Three days after
Jesus died on the cross, He resurrected. This was a promise He made to His followers and this was a
promise He did not break. The resurrection shows just how powerful the Father, the Son, and the Holy
Spirit really are. God asserts His ultimate power in the Resurrection. Human beings can bring God
into the grave, but they cannot keep Him there (Sarot). Jesus life and the events that occurred are very
significant to

Why Did The Tang And The Song Dynasties Were Considered...
The Tang and the Song Dynasties were considered the Golden Age of China. These two dynasties
came just after the Han, which is another very successful Dynasty, but somehow these two seem to top
it. It was due to many reasons that the Tang and the Song were considered the Golden Age, one main
reason being the Silk Road. The Silk Road was a transcontinental trade network connecting China to
the Empires living in the Western part of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was an extremely successful part
of the Chinese economy, and improved communication tremendously with China and its Western
neighbors. For China, the Silk Road allowed them to gain different things like horses, persian rugs,
and tapestries, while they exported things such as textiles, porcelain, silk, and paper. Other reasons
these Dynasties were considered the Golden Age included the rising economy, advanced government,
and the rising population specifically in cities. The Silk Road and trade include the people of one of
the social classes of China during this time: merchants. Merchants in the Song dynasty were
considered to be the lowest social class, besides slaves, due to the idea that they took advantage of
other s labor for their own profit.
These two very successful dynasties also relied heavily on their religion to keep the people together,
and to also regulate the social classes. During this time period Neo Confucianism was the main
supported religion. Neo Confucianism of course adapted from

Although USF has a documented standard operating procedure, it is an injustice to both the

The true cause of one s substandard performance must be identified and researched as to the effect of
any system errors which may have occurred during the production week, and to ensure all down time
has been allocated for the employee throughout the time period in question. Employees may be at no
fault when put into a working environment for which they have no control, especially if placed into a
situation where the work load is not reflective of the conditions the standard was meant to represent.
Members that are performing tasks that are not a part of their regular bid positions are most
susceptible, and are more likely to be hindered by these working conditions. There is a very high
probability that if one is put into these conditions that the delay allowance especially during the
summer months could in fact be much greater than the frequencies and allowances are meant to
represent for that period of time. Members and Local 104 should request all documentation and

How Did Exxel Differentiate Itself From Other Private...
1) What was the key strategy that Navarro pursued from 1991 on to establish Exxel as a leading Latin
American private equity organization? How did Exxel differentiate itself from other private equity
competitors?
Juan Navarro, the former Chairman of Citigroup Capital Investors S.A. (CCI) in Buenos Aires,
founded the Exxel Group in 1991. Due to his family s influential background in Uruguayan and
Argentine political and financial establishments, as well as his own work with the CCI, Navarro was
well connected and highly experienced in the financial and political sectors, and in private equity
itself. The political situation in Latin America at the time was fairly unstable and the launching of the

buyout firms and institutions. This was again for reasons of credibility as it assured both Latin
American and U.S. investors. Furthermore, it opened up more development opportunities for their
portfolio companies, as U.S. investors could transfer their experience from the American market to the
Argentine environment.
Exxel s fund devotion was mainly to invest in buyouts, recapitalizations, privatizations and mergers of
Argentine firms. Each fund was always devoted to a single transaction, which had the advantage of
being very focused on and informed about the transaction itself, as well as all corresponding
circumstances.
To differentiate itself from other private equity groups, Exxel built on Navarro s unique strength: his
ability to originate deals, based on his strong ties with local business community [!], and then to add
value to these enterprises . Exxel also put diligent work in their target selection. To maximize the
success rates, they first picked the most attractive industries, and then chose the best firms within
those industries.
To achieve an even stronger partnership with their portfolio companies, Navarro and his team would
then work on the development of a network of service

The Success Rate Of 12 Step Programs
The majority of research that exists on 12 step programs often focus on determining the success rate of
12 step programs such as AA. There is little to no research on problems associated with 12 step
programs or problematic areas of 12 step programs. The little research that does exist argue that 12
step programs are not structured for comorbid individual, they may not be the best option for mild
substance use disorder, and the central theme of powerlessness can conflict with a therapist s
theoretical orientation and be harmful to the therapeutic alliance. (Kelly Myers, 2007, Laudet et al.,
2004, L, Ingvarson, Richard, 1995). The National Institute of Mental Health (2013) has found that
43.6 million adults aged 18 and older have at least one mental illness and 45 percent of individuals
with one mental disorder met criteria for two or more disorders. The presence of comorbid disorders
can severely affect the treatment and outcome of individuals (Terra et al., 2006). Many studies have
found that clients with a dual diagnosis experience increased rates of hospitalization and increased use
of emergency services (Helzer Pryzbeck, 1998). It is easy to imagine how hospitalization can interrupt
treatment by making it difficulty for individuals to attend.
Despite the fact that mental disorders and substance use disorders often appear together, services are
often separate. It is no different with 12 step programs because 12 step programs tend to focus on one
theme. In other

Kinship In Dr. Gregory Boyle s Tattoos On The Heart
Living in a diverse community while maintaining a state of accord is onerous. It is innate to regard
that one self s unrivaled conduct and notion are factual, which leads society to become perplexed by
that which they deem foreign. Thus, when one denounces another s truth chaos ensues. Fr. Gregory
Boyle offers that compassion and kinship are necessary to live in harmony yet, kinship cannot stand
alone, and compassion must be present to create unanimity. Kinship implies that compassion is
present, but that is not always correct yet, with compassion a perceived kinship is always present. To
live in a community ridden with diversity can be problematic, but despite the moments in which the
novel s anecdotes were difficult to relate to Tattoos on the Heart informs its readers about what their
responsibilities are when it comes to different ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Boyle recounts the story of Clever who Homeboy Industries hired at their silkscreen shop. On Clever s
first day of work he ran into rival homie, Travieso. It was clear to Fr. Boyle that the hatred between

would fire the homies if they were not civil. Six months later, a rival gang pulled Travieso into an
alley and attacked him. After arriving at the hospital the doctors declared him brain dead. Clever
called Fr. Boyle after Travieso s family removed him from life saving measures and asked if there was
anything he could do for Travieso. Fr. Boyle inquired why Clever wanted to help his enemy to which

My population size is children aged eleven to sixteen residing in the United Kingdom and the
Republic of Ireland. I have employed a sample size of thirty male and thirty female students aged
eleven to sixteen; I had chosen this sample size because I had identified a calculation which would be
perfect on helping to have a range of participants and therefore I could have a good medium sized
sample, my research indicated that the average pupils enrolled at a secondary school is roughly three
point six million pupils, so if I divide it by six thousand, then that would equal sixty and later on I can
multiply it by six thousand and represent my data on behalf of all pupils in the United Kingdom and
the Republic of Ireland and thus allowing my data to be more reliable and a better representation of
eleven to sixteen residing in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
My sample of sixty male and female students were samples from school A which had the females and
school B which had the males, my reasoning for choosing two separate schools is because when you
collect data from two separate places participants have a very slim chance of knowing each other and
have no way of communicating with each other, this allows my data to be more reliable. I have also
been able to control an external factor such as cheating and internal factors such as their predictions
being influenced as they may already know all the pupils and they may get an idea of what they are

Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin Essay
Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin
A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is told
from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s
brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship
and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the
way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how
he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. This is a story of how two
African Americans brothers take their own path through life as they struggle to find meaning in their

The author used the title of the story Sonny s Blues, to give the readers the hint about the theme of the
story. The noun blues is defined as a mood of unhappiness and depression. This theme is present
throughout the story. Blues is a style of music that expresses a sad mood. It is synonymous with low
spirits and depressed emotions. The blues, both as a state of being and as music, is basic to the
structure of the story, and both the narrator and his brother Sonny have had their share of low spirits.
The opposing lives of the two brothers contribute to the theme of being safe and while being risk
takers. In this story, Baldwin writes about two brothers who grew up together. As each of the boys
grew older, they fell apart from one another and lived two completely different lives. The narrator,
who is the older brother, seemed to be more conservative and more determined to develop a good
future. Sonny, the younger brother, was more free willed and adventurous as he lived in the moment.
Sonny did not even know what his plans were for the next hour, much less for the rest of his life. The
narrator s major source of discontent has been his selfish desire to learn and lead a respectable, safe
life as a high school algebra teacher. When he learns of

Originalism Vs Living-Constitutionalism
Our country is founded on laws and to those laws we need to be held accountable. There are two
forms of judicial review that the laws we have and the laws we will have are decided on. Those two
forms of judicial review are originalism and living constitutionalism . Originalists believe, the
constant touchstones of constitutional law should be the purposes and values of those who had the
authority to make the Constitution not of those who are charged with governing under it and abiding
by it (Whittington, 2006, para. 4). While living constitutionalism looks to remove some of the power
from the words used in the Constitution and move that displaced power into the hands of our judicial
system. Michael Dorf stated, The act of ratification by the people who are long dead, and whose

Religious Symbols And Symbolism Of The Visit, A Book, Like...
Throughout history, one of the most prominent facets of any society is religion. It influences every
aspect of civilization, from culture to government and from social rules to music. Literature, too,
cannot escape the grasp religion holds on society. Works like Paradise Lost and The Divine Comedy
show the awesome power religion inspires within people; contrastively, works like Huckleberry Finn
and The Visit show the rampant cynicism religion inspires within people. Written by Swiss author
Friedrich DĂźrrenmatt, The Visit is filled with religious symbols and references to Christianity. Instead
of honoring the religion, though, the references only ridicules it.

Half a century prior, Ill [denies] paternity of his illegitimate child with Claire, bringing along two
witnesses whom he has bribed in order to escape his sentence (32), sentencing Claire to a life of
prostitution. The contradiction between Ill s connection to Christ and life of sin mocks what Christ is.
If Ill can still function as a Christ figure while having committed major sins, then Christ could have
done the same. DĂźrrenmatt is arguing that the church itself is not free of sin, as much as they would
like to appear to be. Connections and contradictions between Ill and Christ satirize Christ and mock
the church.
In continuance of this biblical metaphor, the town serves as the Judas to Ill s Christ, but their moral
absolvement for killing Ill implies moral absolvement for Judas, which deconstructs the entire story of
Christ. Like Judas to Christ, the town sells Ill out for the prospect of money. Once Claire places the
one billion dollar price on Ill s head, it s already decided that the townspeople are going to kill him;
the temptation is far too strong and [their] poverty is too wretched (85). They have no choice other
than to choose the money over him, which they do. But, in the end, the townspeople have convinced
the media and themselves that killing Ill is not a matter of money but morals. The citizens declare that

HOW AFRICAN AMERICAN SEGREGATION INFLUENCED SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN
FOLK MUSIC DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION
John Hilderbrand
History 255: Race, Rock and Roll, and American History
April 29, 2016
Introduction Folk music was shaped and influenced by segregation during the Great Depression
between blacks and whites, which led to divergent forms of African American folk music in isolated
towns where black music could evolve from its African origins. Even before the Great Depression,
earlier African American music styles have influenced the folk music of southern Appalachia. The
banjo is one of the most important musical instruments playing in Appalachia folk music, and it is a
little known fact that this instrument was introduced by African Americans, as well as African work
songs and chants to this region.1 This paper will address how segregation between blacks and whites
have influenced folk music, if at all, and if racial tensions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some African Americans families settled in small towns which became predominantly black and poor.
This occurred throughout Appalachia, where blacks and whites tended to live in separate towns. When
black folk bands traveled to different festivals, they interacted with white folk artists and exchanged
musical methods weather they knew it or not. Some of the songs from African American folk artist
were adopted by white banjo players as early as 1830s such as Dan Emmett and Billy Whitlock, who
were part of a traveling minstrel show in Virginia according to historian George Gibson7. George
suggests that the blending of white and black music took place well before the minstrel performers
during the 1840s7. Which would allow for white folk artists to use their influence popularizing song
material that would have not gained much notice if it was kept within the confines of the black

Finishing Hardwood Floors
Hardwood floor can be finished using high power sanding machines, although some handwork may be
necessary in places that on which a sanding machine will not fit, or near corners. Before starting the
finishing process, the hardwood surface should be free of dirt and all nails must be carefully driven so
they are not protruding in the floor or the baseboard. Depending on the hardwood flooring surface,
sometimes with two sanding cuts, you will get a nice finish whatsoever, if the floor is uneven, then
three sanding cuts will be needed.
Hardwood Flooring Sanding Machines
There are two main types of sanding machines: drum or disk type. Drum sanders have the sandpaper
mounted on a drum that rotates parallel to the plane of the floor, scratching in straight lines in the
direction of the sanding machine. On the other hand, disk sanders are the ones in which the sandpaper
rotates in a circle in the plane of the floor. There are different tools that will facilitate sanding
hardwood floor near the edges of the floor and next to the baseboard.
Choosing the right sandpaper is a very important thing to do, because coarse grits will scratch the
hardwood leaving some marks that will be noticeable. Fine grits are better when you want to have the
best finishing on a hardwood flooring, although it will require additional work. For better results, start
by using the coarse sandpaper, to level the floor and continue to polish the surface using finer
sandpaper.

THE ULTIMATE GARLIC SUPPLEMENT ALLICIN
The chemistry of garlic is extremely complex, but research has shown that it is the unusual organ
sulfur compounds relatively unique to garlic that promote its broad range of lipid lowering,
antithrombotic, anti blood coagulation, anti hypertension, anti cancer, anti oxidant and anti microbial
effect. The most well known and widely studied garlic compound is allicin , yet ironically allicin does
not exist in fresh, undamaged garlic cloves. The predominant garlic sulfur compound is Alliin. Garlic
also contains high levels of an enzyme called allinase. Cavallito and Bailey first reported in 1944 that
allicin is the garlic compound chiefly responsible for the broad spectrum anti bacterial action of garlic.
They noted that various actions of garlic, such as its cholesterol lowering and anti bacterial effect are
primarily due to its allicin content.
ALLIIN
Alliin is a sulfoxide that is a natural constituent of fresh garlic. It is a derivative of the amino acid
cysteins. When fresh garlic is chopped or crushed, the enzyme allinase converts alliin into allicin
which is primarily responsible for the aroma of fresh garlic. Garlic has been used since antiquity as a
therapeutic remedy for a certain conditions now associated w/ oxygen toxicity, and when this was
investigated, garlic did indeed show strong anti oxidant and hydroxyladical scavenging properties,
possibly owing to the alliin

Natural Selection Lab Report
The sixth lab I completed in Biology 101 taught me how autotrophs (self feeders) and heterotrophs
(other feeders) make organic food molecules by using photosynthesis. Photosynthesis uses the energy
from the sun and it is captured and stored in the chemical bonds of organic molecules. The sunlight
consists of different wavelengths of light. In plant chloroplasts, they have different pigments that
capture different wavelengths of light. Light capturing pigments in green plants are called chlorophylls
and these absorb all the colors of light except green, which is mostly reflected. To separate molecules
from each other according to their solubility in a particular solvent is done by the process of
chromatography. This basically means that polar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ecology is the branch of biology that studies the interactions of organisms with each other, and with

Ecosystems are habitats or areas that consists of two basic components. Ecosystems include such
things as biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components are living organisms within an ecosystem
and abiotic components are things like sunlight, temperature, and rainfall. Within an ecosystem are

Teens believed that using drugs was the only way to cope with their problems. They thought it would
help them get rid of their worries. While this is true that it would help them forget, it was only
temporary and the long lasting effects are so much worse than the short term ones. Sobernation writes
about the need for teens to cope with the drugs. As drug use began to take on an increasingly

included cocaine, heroin, and the resurgence of ups and downs The use of the phrase, ups and downs

were ignorant to the fact that it could happen to them, it was proven that kids became reliant. All this

Social Control Theory Of White Collar Crime
Many Criminologists have studied different theories to explain the reason behind the commission of
white collar crimes. Many of the current studies focus on a wide range of factors, rather than on few
factors, to explain why people commit white collar crimes in modern society. Sutherland theorized
that white collar crimes and conventional crimes were similar enough to focus on poverty and social
pathologies as the base reasoning for committing each type of crime (Friedrichs, 2014). However,
many of the people who commit white collar crimes do not live in poverty, and generally respected in
their field of expertise. Consequently, a general theory of white collar crime fails to consider a variety
of other factors and places those crimes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The social control theory does not focus on why a person commits a crime, but rather why a person
does not commit a crime. In this theory, people with strong values show restraint from committing
crimes because it goes against their nature. They exercise self restraint when confronted with the
numerous opportunities to commit crimes in society, whereas criminals commit crimes because they
do not have connections to society or institutions that hold morals in high regard. However, this theory
is flawed in that some perpetrators of white collar crimes are well connected to the corporations and
people who they commit crimes against and are less likely to reveal that they have committed the
crimes. Likewise, the control balance theory states that an imbalance between one s control over
another entity and the control held by an entity over that person will influence the likelihood that they
will commit a crime. However, this theory works well when applied to conventional crimes, but is still
developing in relation to white collar crime.
A relatively new theory into white collar crime focuses on the gender of the offender, as the context of
the crime is often lost when applying general theories against female culprits (Holtfreter, 2015).
Consequently, female offenders tend to commit white collar crimes for different reasons then their
male counterparts. Men may commit the crimes to enrich themselves or to punish the

Navajo Culture Research Paper
Across America, countless tribes and cultures have been practiced for centuries. There is so much
diversity amongst these people ranging from the north eastern Iroquois to the south western Hopi
people. Even though these people live in such different lifestyles, many of the indigenous tribes have
similar perspectives on the world, especially after western expansion during the 1800 s. Tribes, no
matter where they are geographically, all have some sort of tradition or ritual that they do which can
be for spirits, new and old, or for the people themselves. Three individual indigenous people who are
some of the more well known in modern day standards are the Hopi, Navajo, and Lakota people. All
of whom live in different locations across North America. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similar to the Navajo, the Lakota are a matriarchal society. The Lakota people practice similar
traditions to the Navajo in that direction matters. Whether is be East or West the direction is important
to their religion the same way east is important to the Navajo s belief of the rising sun. To the Lakota
people directions have a unique color associated with it and certain characteristics as well. North is
white and is portrayed as cold, South is yellow and known for its full days, East is red for its sunrise,
and West is black as that is where the sky becomes dark. However, there are two additional directions,
up and down, up is blue because of the sky, and down is green because of the earth. This is the
backbone of the Lakota people. Another tradition in which the Lakota people are unique to is the Sun
Dance. During the hottest day of the year, men, and men only, pierce their chest with a hook tied to a
rope and connect to a pole to dance. This is done as a vision quest for the individual dancing as they
do so until they collapse or the day is done. One last tradition that both Hopi and Navajo people can
relate to are sweat lodges. However, in Lakota people they are referred to as Rock Lodges or Inipi.
The reason for this is because it is for their ancestors (the rocks) who are being focused on, not the
individuals within. The rock lodge is seen as the womb of the earth. This is why

Key Characteristics Of Organizational Development In The...
Organization development is a system wide method of organized change directed towards refining
overall organization efficiency by way of augmented similarity of such key organizational factors as
external environment, mission, tactic, governance, customs, organization, information and incentive
practices, and work strategies and techniques. Organization development is about aiding individuals
and organizations change successfully. Experts in a variation of positions can apply organizational
development in various settings, and in any type of organization. While emerging as a discipline in the
1960 s, Richard Beckhard defined organizational development key characteristics as planned,
organization wide and managed from the top. These three key characteristics are important because
they boost organizational effectiveness and well being through mediations in the organization s
developments, by applying behavioral science knowledge. However, innovators of organizational
development in the 1960s were still mostly pre occupied with interferences at either an individual or
group level, primarily to enable incremental alterations, relatively than the whole system, large scale
intercessions which describe the calculated change labors and ingenuities that are applied today.
Organizational development came about due to the initiatives of key workers in the 1960s, through the
expansion of T groups and the knowledge increased from those organizations, from Lewin s work on

Accountability On The Fire Ground
Christopher McCoy SCC Fire academy Benji Johnson 6 24 17 Accountability on the Fire Ground An
essential component of the fire ground is accountability. When an accountability system is established
and implemented, a safely ran and efficient ground operation can occur. Fire departments that
establish and implement accountability systems are serious about maintaining the integrity about their
company and preventing any freelancing that may occur on the fire ground. The Personal
Accountability System (PAS) primary reason is to keep track of the fire an emergency personnel,

Everyone understands that the fire ground is a fast moving, dynamic, and many times a chaotic
environment in the best of situations. However, consider how much more complicated that
environment becomes when the IC hears the word Mayday on the radio or suddenly realizes that an
individual or an entire crew has not been seen or heard from and he has no idea of where to start
looking.
One of the main goals of the incident command system (ICS) is to manage resources on the fire
grounds. The Incident Command System has a built in accountability system. Proper management of
fire ground operations is necessary to achieve and maintain accountability. Accountability through
incident command is possible only if it is established from the very beginning of the incident with the
arrival of the first unit, officer, or member who establishes command and begins to assign and track
incoming resources. Resources that self deploy on the fire ground without the establishment and
direction of an overall IC are not operating within incident command, a single incident action plan
(IAP), or an accountability system. Any organization that waits for a later arriving officer to show up,
establish command, and then attempt to locate and track multiple self deployed resources from scratch
is setting that officer and the organization up for failure and, ultimately, a tragic disaster.

My Creative Process Of Visual Merchandiser
Visual Merchandisers have many employment options available in many different sectors. I believe
that displays are all encompassing. It is the little details that culminate a theme or feel that makes
customers want to shop at a particular store and have a certain type of experience. It is about making

that there is so much inspiration in the world that can be used to create compelling store displays that

The Value of Nature to Humans
The Value of Nature Humans project the value of nature because humans are the only beings that are
able to produce rational thoughts and are therefore, the only beings that value. Since humans are the
only beings that value, they are inherently the only things that determine the value of other things. In
addition to my main thesis, I will address where the value in nature originates by explaining the
disjoint relationship between humans and non humans. Expanding on my thesis, I will prove the
projection view is correct by showing that all arguments for the recognition view appeal to projection.
Projection, meaning, humans project value on to nature rather than recognition, meaning, humans
recognize the intrinsic value of nature. The value of nature is a contentious issue that not only
concerns environmental ethicists, but also everyday people around the world. As our world becomes
more technologically dependent, it seems that we are becoming less concerned with nature. In
deciding the future of our planet, it is important that we explore the value of nature and the
consequence of destroying it. I will reference and utilize quotes by Holmes Rolston III from his novel,
A New Environmental Ethics, as I evaluate the Euthyphro Problem as it applies to the value of nature.
The recognition view of the value nature articulates that humans recognize the intrinsic value of
nature. Where does the basis for this argument originate? Rolston defends the idea that if an organism

Types Of Political Risk Index Essay
As mentioned before, components of political risk index are divided into six sub indicators. This
section examines changes in political risks sub indicators as a response to political changes and the
mutual relationship between the six sub indicators that form political risk index in Egypt.
3.1 Behavior of and Changes in Political Risks Sub Indicators
Figure (1) shows that indicators of political risk have had noticeable changes especially after 25th of
January revolution except for government effectiveness and control of corruption indicators which
stayed at levels 0.5 and 0.33 respectively during the considered period. The following points
summarize the performance of political risks sub indicators as a response to political changes in
Egypt. An indicator with points near to 1 indicates a relatively very low risk indicator, while an
indicator with points near to 0 indicates a relatively very high risk indicator.
The most vulnerable and risky indicator of political risks sub indicators is voice and accountability
indicator, as points awarded to this indicator were always below 0.5 and hence it is always located in
very high risk zone. Prior to 25th of January (from 2006 to 2010), the indicator recorded 0.4 average
points and during revolutions period this average points has been dropped to 0.24. Voice and
accountability indicator recorded average points 0.33 during the whole considered period (2006 2014)
with standard deviation 0.09 points.

The Definition Of Theatre In The 18th And 19th Century
The word Theatre originates from the Greek word theatron, which means seeing place, therefore

metaphorically refers to a place where wars and surgeries occur like theatre of operations The
software definition of theatre describes the activity involved in theatre like the group of people that

The theatre building used to be small open spaces where the people performed and spectators
watched. As it grew in popularity, theatres needed to be remodeled and made big enough to sit
everyone. The audience would be located would be in an elevated area and the actors below. Roman
theatres were elaborate and embellished with marble carvings and gilded columns. Theaters built in
the 18th and 19th century are still open and operating today. Theatres are fundamental to urban
architecture as well as to contemporary life. Theatre involves a very large group of people working
together on a single performance. These groups can be called companies or troupes that tour cities to
present a play. These companies are self contained production units capable of writing, preparing and
presenting works to a point where some have become legendary, like the Lord Chamberlain s Men of
London, which Shakespeare was a part of.

Everything You Need to Know About Iron Essay
Everything You Need to Know About Iron
Iron is called a trace mineral, but its effects are mighty. We need it to produce hemoglobin, the oxygen
carrier in red blood cells that brings oxygen to the rest of the body. Iron is also needed to produce
myoglobin, the oxygen reservoir in the muscle cells.
Iron is notoriously low in the American diet; especially in children one to two years old, and in women
ages 12 to 50. Surprisingly, it is also low among athletes, who pack their diets so full of carbohydrates
that they tend to omit iron rich foods.
Inadequate iron stores in the blood cause iron deficiency anemia. Iron is needed for the production of
hemoglobin needed for red blood cells. Hemoglobin is important in the transport of oxygen ... Show

Pregnancy increases the risk of anemia. During pregnancy, the blood volume expands by almost 50%.
Most of the increased blood volume is an increase in blood plasma levels, not red blood cells. Since
the plasma level increases more rapidly than the red blood cells in the first half of pregnancy, the
concentration of red blood cells in the blood is less than during the pre pregnancy period. As the body
works to produce red blood cells at an increased rate, the need for iron may exceeds the available
stores. The result is iron deficiency anemia. At least 20% of all pregnant women are anemic. However,
this type of anemia, called hemodilutional, does not increase the risk of low birth weight or preterm
delivery.
Cut off value for anemia for women.

During periods of growth such as infancy, childhood, adolescence and pregnancy, blood volume

the extra oxygen around. Not meeting the demand can have lifelong consequences. Even without
symptoms of anemia, iron deficient infants show signs of mental impairment. Studies suggest that

going on, ranging from an incomplete stage of Erikson s to symptoms of depression. Throughout the
movie, she goes through many emotional turmoils and drama, which changes her behavior. Section A:
Erikson s stages of Psychosocial Development includes trust vs. mistrust, autonomy vs shame and
doubt, initiative vs. guilt, competence vs. inferiority, identity vs. role confusion, intimacy vs. isolation,
generativity vs. stagnation, and integrity vs. despair. All of these stages serve as a foundation for the

Absurdity Of Human Existence By Albert Camus
Albert Camus is a prominent existential philosopher from Algeria. Despite the fact that Camus
believes that life is meaningless and absurd, Camus thinks that we should embrace the meaningless
and absurd. I fully agree with his opinion on life because Camus is essentially saying that we should
find meaning within a meaningless life and take on life head on. As stated in the ¨Absurdity of Human
Existence by Albert Camus, Camus believes that ¨the one truly serious philosophical problem [is
suicide].¨ Camus thinks that deciding whether life is worth living is the most fundamental question of
philosophy and that ¨suicide is a solution to the absurd.¨ To be absurd is to be ridiculous and what is
absurd in life completely depends on the interpreter. There are many absurdities in life Camus groups
the biggest absurdities in life into five categories. The first of the absurdities is the repetition of life.
We mindlessly repeat our schedules everyday until we realize that we are following an endless cycle
that has no meaning that only ends in ¨suicide or recovery.¨ The second absurdity in life is the
absurdity of life. Humans are dense and cease to understand the meaning of life outside of the mere
images that we claim to understand because we ¨lack the power to make us of that artifice.¨ The third
absurdity in life is the absurdity of people because we merely perform meaningless pantomime that
¨makes silly everything that surrounds¨ us everyday; we have no meaning or purpose in

succeeding by strength in numbers is quickly becoming a contributor to their downfall. Income is low
at this point as well, so purchasing supplies, whether near or far, will soon become impossible. If the

The Merrymen are well known even in far reaching areas of England.
The men have a strong willingness to serve.
Weaknesses:
Vigilance is quickly declining.
Their resources are declining as well with no plan to replace or renew them.
There is no real organization or leadership within the band of men.
Revenues are declining and there is no plan in place for alternative sources of income.
There is a lack of utilization of the men s skills other than archery.
There is also a significant lack of skill development in other areas.
The newer recruits to the campaign are strangers and could potentially be the Sheriff s spies.
Opportunities:
Prince John and the Sheriff are not well liked by the people. Their removal is less likely to be

The barons are beginning to dispute Prince John s claim to the throne.
Some barons are already conspiring to return King Richard from imprisonment in Austria. If
successfully executed, the Sheriff would no longer have support from Prince John as he would no

Analyze The Ways In Which Television Has Effected Education
In chapter 10 Postman discusses the ways in which television has effected education. He uses the
example of Sesame Street quite a lot throughout the chapter. He begins by stating Sesame Street was
almost guaranteed to be successful with children due to the fact that having children learn through

continues of to say that Sesame Street actually goes against traditional book learning but puts of a
front that it teaches children to love school. It does not teach children to love school, but rather to love
television. Going to a classroom is a place where the children can interact socially and the television

The Long-Term Effects Of Abortion

number of abortion around the globe is tremendous, very few people stop to think about the
consequences of these in the mother. The long term effects of having an abortion can harm the mother

What Is The Role Of Women In The Tang Dynasty And Women
Women in Ancient China during the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty lived in oppressed lives. Society
perceived them as inferior to their husbands and parents in law. Their role in the family were to be
housewives taking care of their family and maintaining the household chores. They were always under
the instructions of their husbands and parents in law in they were treated like servants. They also had
no control in their personal decisions because they were not allowed to decide who they were going to
marry and what they wanted to do in their careers. Parents of daughters would also force their
daughters to foot binding because it would attract potential wealthy husbands. This paper argues that
although the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty were known as the golden periods for China,
nevertheless, it was overlooked by historians that women during the time were victims of gender
inequality because they lived with no control over their personal lives and were expected to be
submissive to their husbands.
Women were considered inferior to their husbands and were expected to be obedient to them.

Gestalt And Humanistic Modes Of Thought
Gestalt and humanistic modes of thought share the idea that people have free will and are able to make
their own choices in life; also, a high importance is placed on a person s experiences and personal
viewpoint (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). Phenomenology, or the introspective analysis of whole
conceptual experiences, features prominently in both ideologies (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). Another
shared viewpoint is that human beings are unique, and as such there is a limit to what can be learned
from other humans, or from the study of animals (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). The thought that people
are too complex to be studied with normal scientific methodology is another shared tenet.
The main difference between these two ideologies is the basic premise of human nature. Humanistic
psychology s primary belief is that human nature is intrinsically good and that their default would be
to naturally get along with other people (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). For Gestalt type psychology, the
basis of human nature is mainly neutral, and people then have to exercise choice in order to become
something else. Coming to understand one s own mortality as a way to live life is part of Gestalt
psychology, whereas for humanistic psychology it is not considered as important to human actuality
(Hergenhahn Henley, 2014).
The application and connection of a humanistic understanding of learning and how it applies to
leadership roles also shares some similarities with Gestalt psychology. Developing

  • 4. Gospel Essentials Of Christianity Gospel Essentials In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth (Zondervan Study Bible NIV, Genesis 1:1). This is a well known Bible verse and it also happens to be the very first one. If one is said to believe this verse, then they makes them a Christian. But is this statement really true? To be a Christian, do you just have to believe that God created the Earth and everything in it? No, Christianity is much more than that. The term worldview has been defined as a foundational set of assumptions to which one commits that serves as a framework for understanding and interpreting reality and deeply shapes one s behavior (Krise 2015). Now, what makes the Christian worldview? God who is The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit works ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jesus, the second part to the Trinity was sent down to Earth to save all of humanity. He is God, yet He is man. Jesus saved humanity through the incarnation, atonement, and resurrection. Incarnation refers to God becoming man and dwelling with us (Krise 2015). John 3:16, states For God so love the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life (Zondervan Study Bible NIV, John 3:16). God had a plan to save humanity, using Jesus to redeem people for their sins. The atonement refers to Jesus accepting what He must do to save humanity. A bible verse that explains the atonement is Isaiah 53:4 5, Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed (Zondervan Study Bible NIV, Isaiah 53:4 5) Three days after Jesus died on the cross, He resurrected. This was a promise He made to His followers and this was a promise He did not break. The resurrection shows just how powerful the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit really are. God asserts His ultimate power in the Resurrection. Human beings can bring God into the grave, but they cannot keep Him there (Sarot). • 5. Why Did The Tang And The Song Dynasties Were Considered... The Tang and the Song Dynasties were considered the Golden Age of China. These two dynasties came just after the Han, which is another very successful Dynasty, but somehow these two seem to top it. It was due to many reasons that the Tang and the Song were considered the Golden Age, one main reason being the Silk Road. The Silk Road was a transcontinental trade network connecting China to the Empires living in the Western part of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was an extremely successful part of the Chinese economy, and improved communication tremendously with China and its Western neighbors. For China, the Silk Road allowed them to gain different things like horses, persian rugs, and tapestries, while they exported things such as textiles, porcelain, silk, and paper. Other reasons these Dynasties were considered the Golden Age included the rising economy, advanced government, and the rising population specifically in cities. The Silk Road and trade include the people of one of the social classes of China during this time: merchants. Merchants in the Song dynasty were considered to be the lowest social class, besides slaves, due to the idea that they took advantage of other s labor for their own profit. These two very successful dynasties also relied heavily on their religion to keep the people together, and to also regulate the social classes. During this time period Neo Confucianism was the main supported religion. Neo Confucianism of course adapted from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Exxel Differentiate Itself From Other Private... 1) What was the key strategy that Navarro pursued from 1991 on to establish Exxel as a leading Latin American private equity organization? How did Exxel differentiate itself from other private equity competitors? Juan Navarro, the former Chairman of Citigroup Capital Investors S.A. (CCI) in Buenos Aires, founded the Exxel Group in 1991. Due to his family s influential background in Uruguayan and Argentine political and financial establishments, as well as his own work with the CCI, Navarro was well connected and highly experienced in the financial and political sectors, and in private equity itself. Furthermore, it opened up more development opportunities for their portfolio companies, as U.S. investors could transfer their experience from the American market to the Argentine environment. Exxel s fund devotion was mainly to invest in buyouts, recapitalizations, privatizations and mergers of Argentine firms. Each fund was always devoted to a single transaction, which had the advantage of being very focused on and informed about the transaction itself, as well as all corresponding circumstances. To differentiate itself from other private equity groups, Exxel built on Navarro s unique strength: his ability to originate deals, based on his strong ties with local business community [!], and then to add value to these enterprises . Exxel also put diligent work in their target selection. To maximize the success rates, they first picked the most attractive industries, and then chose the best firms within those industries. • 8. The Success Rate Of 12 Step Programs The majority of research that exists on 12 step programs often focus on determining the success rate of 12 step programs such as AA. There is little to no research on problems associated with 12 step programs or problematic areas of 12 step programs. The little research that does exist argue that 12 step programs are not structured for comorbid individual, they may not be the best option for mild substance use disorder, and the central theme of powerlessness can conflict with a therapist s theoretical orientation and be harmful to the therapeutic alliance. (Kelly Myers, 2007, Laudet et al., 2004, L, Ingvarson, Richard, 1995). The National Institute of Mental Health (2013) has found that 43.6 million adults aged 18 and older have at least one mental illness and 45 percent of individuals with one mental disorder met criteria for two or more disorders. The presence of comorbid disorders can severely affect the treatment and outcome of individuals (Terra et al., 2006). Many studies have found that clients with a dual diagnosis experience increased rates of hospitalization and increased use of emergency services (Helzer Pryzbeck, 1998). It is easy to imagine how hospitalization can interrupt treatment by making it difficulty for individuals to attend. Despite the fact that mental disorders and substance use disorders often appear together, services are often separate. It is innate to regard that one self s unrivaled conduct and notion are factual, which leads society to become perplexed by that which they deem foreign. Thus, when one denounces another s truth chaos ensues. Fr. Gregory Boyle offers that compassion and kinship are necessary to live in harmony yet, kinship cannot stand alone, and compassion must be present to create unanimity. Kinship implies that compassion is present, but that is not always correct yet, with compassion a perceived kinship is always present. To live in a community ridden with diversity can be problematic, but despite the moments in which the novel s anecdotes were difficult to relate to Tattoos on the Heart informs its readers about what their responsibilities are when it comes to different ideas. ... I have employed a sample size of thirty male and thirty female students aged eleven to sixteen; I had chosen this sample size because I had identified a calculation which would be perfect on helping to have a range of participants and therefore I could have a good medium sized sample, my research indicated that the average pupils enrolled at a secondary school is roughly three point six million pupils, so if I divide it by six thousand, then that would equal sixty and later on I can multiply it by six thousand and represent my data on behalf of all pupils in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland and thus allowing my data to be more reliable and a better representation of eleven to sixteen residing in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. My sample of sixty male and female students were samples from school A which had the females and school B which had the males, my reasoning for choosing two separate schools is because when you collect data from two separate places participants have a very slim chance of knowing each other and have no way of communicating with each other, this allows my data to be more reliable. I have also been able to control an external factor such as cheating and internal factors such as their predictions being influenced as they may already know all the pupils and they may get an idea of what they are capable of ... Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin Essay Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is told from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. The author used the title of the story Sonny s Blues, to give the readers the hint about the theme of the story. The noun blues is defined as a mood of unhappiness and depression. This theme is present throughout the story. Blues is a style of music that expresses a sad mood. It is synonymous with low spirits and depressed emotions. The blues, both as a state of being and as music, is basic to the structure of the story, and both the narrator and his brother Sonny have had their share of low spirits. The opposing lives of the two brothers contribute to the theme of being safe and while being risk takers. In this story, Baldwin writes about two brothers who grew up together. As each of the boys grew older, they fell apart from one another and lived two completely different lives. The narrator, who is the older brother, seemed to be more conservative and more determined to develop a good future. Sonny, the younger brother, was more free willed and adventurous as he lived in the moment. Sonny did not even know what his plans were for the next hour, much less for the rest of his life. There are two forms of judicial review that the laws we have and the laws we will have are decided on. Those two forms of judicial review are originalism and living constitutionalism . Originalists believe, the constant touchstones of constitutional law should be the purposes and values of those who had the authority to make the Constitution not of those who are charged with governing under it and abiding by it (Whittington, 2006, para. 4). While living constitutionalism looks to remove some of the power from the words used in the Constitution and move that displaced power into the hands of our judicial system. It influences every aspect of civilization, from culture to government and from social rules to music. Literature, too, cannot escape the grasp religion holds on society. Works like Paradise Lost and The Divine Comedy show the awesome power religion inspires within people; contrastively, works like Huckleberry Finn and The Visit show the rampant cynicism religion inspires within people. Written by Swiss author Friedrich DĂźrrenmatt, The Visit is filled with religious symbols and references to Christianity. Instead of honoring the religion, though, the references only ridicules it. The contradiction between Ill s connection to Christ and life of sin mocks what Christ is. If Ill can still function as a Christ figure while having committed major sins, then Christ could have done the same. DĂźrrenmatt is arguing that the church itself is not free of sin, as much as they would like to appear to be. Connections and contradictions between Ill and Christ satirize Christ and mock the church. In continuance of this biblical metaphor, the town serves as the Judas to Ill s Christ, but their moral absolvement for killing Ill implies moral absolvement for Judas, which deconstructs the entire story of Christ. African American Folk Music Research Paper HOW AFRICAN AMERICAN SEGREGATION INFLUENCED SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN FOLK MUSIC DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION John Hilderbrand History 255: Race, Rock and Roll, and American History April 29, 2016 Introduction Folk music was shaped and influenced by segregation during the Great Depression between blacks and whites, which led to divergent forms of African American folk music in isolated towns where black music could evolve from its African origins. Even before the Great Depression, earlier African American music styles have influenced the folk music of southern Appalachia. The banjo is one of the most important musical instruments playing in Appalachia folk music, and it is a little known fact that this instrument was introduced by African Americans, as well as African work songs and chants to this region.1 This paper will address how segregation between blacks and whites have influenced folk music, if at all, and if racial tensions ... Finishing Hardwood Floors Hardwood floor can be finished using high power sanding machines, although some handwork may be necessary in places that on which a sanding machine will not fit, or near corners. Before starting the finishing process, the hardwood surface should be free of dirt and all nails must be carefully driven so they are not protruding in the floor or the baseboard. Depending on the hardwood flooring surface, sometimes with two sanding cuts, you will get a nice finish whatsoever, if the floor is uneven, then three sanding cuts will be needed. Hardwood Flooring Sanding Machines There are two main types of sanding machines: drum or disk type. Drum sanders have the sandpaper mounted on a drum that rotates parallel to the plane of the floor, scratching in straight lines in the direction of the sanding machine. On the other hand, disk sanders are the ones in which the sandpaper rotates in a circle in the plane of the floor. There are different tools that will facilitate sanding hardwood floor near the edges of the floor and next to the baseboard. Choosing the right sandpaper is a very important thing to do, because coarse grits will scratch the hardwood leaving some marks that will be noticeable. The most well known and widely studied garlic compound is allicin , yet ironically allicin does not exist in fresh, undamaged garlic cloves. The predominant garlic sulfur compound is Alliin. Garlic also contains high levels of an enzyme called allinase. Cavallito and Bailey first reported in 1944 that allicin is the garlic compound chiefly responsible for the broad spectrum anti bacterial action of garlic. They noted that various actions of garlic, such as its cholesterol lowering and anti bacterial effect are primarily due to its allicin content. ALLIIN Alliin is a sulfoxide that is a natural constituent of fresh garlic. It is a derivative of the amino acid cysteins. When fresh garlic is chopped or crushed, the enzyme allinase converts alliin into allicin which is primarily responsible for the aroma of fresh garlic. Many of the current studies focus on a wide range of factors, rather than on few factors, to explain why people commit white collar crimes in modern society. Sutherland theorized that white collar crimes and conventional crimes were similar enough to focus on poverty and social pathologies as the base reasoning for committing each type of crime (Friedrichs, 2014). The social control theory does not focus on why a person commits a crime, but rather why a person does not commit a crime. In this theory, people with strong values show restraint from committing crimes because it goes against their nature. They exercise self restraint when confronted with the numerous opportunities to commit crimes in society, whereas criminals commit crimes because they do not have connections to society or institutions that hold morals in high regard. However, this theory is flawed in that some perpetrators of white collar crimes are well connected to the corporations and people who they commit crimes against and are less likely to reveal that they have committed the crimes. Likewise, the control balance theory states that an imbalance between one s control over another entity and the control held by an entity over that person will influence the likelihood that they will commit a crime. However, this theory works well when applied to conventional crimes, but is still developing in relation to white collar crime. A relatively new theory into white collar crime focuses on the gender of the offender, as the context of the crime is often lost when applying general theories against female culprits (Holtfreter, 2015). Consequently, female offenders tend to commit white collar crimes for different reasons then their male counterparts. Men may commit the crimes to enrich themselves or to punish the ... The Value of Nature to Humans The Value of Nature Humans project the value of nature because humans are the only beings that are able to produce rational thoughts and are therefore, the only beings that value. Since humans are the only beings that value, they are inherently the only things that determine the value of other things. In addition to my main thesis, I will address where the value in nature originates by explaining the disjoint relationship between humans and non humans. Expanding on my thesis, I will prove the projection view is correct by showing that all arguments for the recognition view appeal to projection. Projection, meaning, humans project value on to nature rather than recognition, meaning, humans recognize the intrinsic value of nature. Surprisingly, it is also low among athletes, who pack their diets so full of carbohydrates that they tend to omit iron rich foods. Inadequate iron stores in the blood cause iron deficiency anemia. Iron is needed for the production of hemoglobin needed for red blood cells. Hemoglobin is important in the transport of oxygen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pregnancy increases the risk of anemia. During pregnancy, the blood volume expands by almost 50%. Most of the increased blood volume is an increase in blood plasma levels, not red blood cells. Since the plasma level increases more rapidly than the red blood cells in the first half of pregnancy, the concentration of red blood cells in the blood is less than during the pre pregnancy period. As the body works to produce red blood cells at an increased rate, the need for iron may exceeds the available stores. The result is iron deficiency anemia. At least 20% of all pregnant women are anemic. However, this type of anemia, called hemodilutional, does not increase the risk of low birth weight or preterm delivery. Cut off value for anemia for women. Non pregnant 12.0 g/dl Pregnant Trimester 1 11.0 g/dl Trimester 2 10.5 g/dl Trimester 3 11.0 g/dl Symptoms of Anemia: ¡ Extreme fatigue and weakness ¡ Pallor ¡ Dizziness or fainting ¡ Shortness of breathe heart palpitations. During periods of growth such as infancy, childhood, adolescence and pregnancy, blood volume increases to feed the new tissue. More blood and more tissue means that more iron is needed to carry the extra oxygen around. Not meeting the demand can have lifelong consequences. Even without symptoms of anemia, iron deficient infants show signs of mental impairment. Studies suggest that anemia at nine months is associated

  • 35. Example Of A Humorous Research Paper Matthew Slonaker Mr. Turner Philosophy 2367 September 30, 2014 The Meaning behind Jokes. Some researcher say that laughter is the best medicine a human can get. There are many different ways to get a good laugh. Whether it s from seeing a funny movie, watching funny videos on the internet, or telling jokes with your friends. Personally, my favorite way to get a quick laugh is to exchange funny jokes between my friends. Some of the best jokes are the ones that might come off a little racist if said to the wrong person. It is the racism that makes many of these jokes funny. For instance; many polish jokes can easily be change into moron jokes, but when delivered has a moron joke it s not all that funny. So the racism in the joke is meant to come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, this suggest that racist humor is the same thing as a put down. Many people laugh at these because put downs are funny, even when the put down is directed at them, mainly because they realize that the tendency of it is relative harmless. Most people find it to be a great stress reliever when they join others in a good laugh about oneself. A philosopher by the name of Michael Philips would agree with the point stated above. He would say that not all the jokes that are directed towards a certain ethnic group are racist. That we need to be able to distinguish the humor that is morally unobjectionable and the humor that is not. (Philips) It all depends who the audience is during the telling of a joke. Some people might think that the joke that is being presented is racist, while someone else might find it funny and not racist at all. What I m trying to say is that it all ... • 37. Erikson s Stages Of Psychosocial Development Rachel Getting Married is a movie about a drug addict who s coming home from rehab to attend her sister s wedding. The main character s name is Kim. In the movie, she is shown to have many issues going on, ranging from an incomplete stage of Erikson s to symptoms of depression. Throughout the movie, she goes through many emotional turmoils and drama, which changes her behavior. Section A: Erikson s stages of Psychosocial Development includes trust vs. mistrust, autonomy vs shame and doubt, initiative vs. guilt, competence vs. inferiority, identity vs. role confusion, intimacy vs. isolation, generativity vs. stagnation, and integrity vs. despair. All of these stages serve as a foundation for the next, and as a basis for how their personality will develop. In the movie, Rachel Getting Married, Kim shows a lot of mistrust towards people, especially her family, which may have started when she was a baby to the age of one. Trust vs. mistrust is when infants learn basic trust for parents. When they see that their basic needs have been fulfilled they start to trust, rely and depend on that parent. Unfortunately, it might ve been that Kim has an incomplete stage because Kim s mother hasn t been around. Without her mother being around, their wasn t a mother figure in her life, therefore she doesn t trust people as much. This could serve as to why she turned to drugs as a source of releasing her stress. Since her mother wasn t around as a baby, it s safe to assume that Kim s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Absurdity Of Human Existence By Albert Camus Albert Camus is a prominent existential philosopher from Algeria. Despite the fact that Camus believes that life is meaningless and absurd, Camus thinks that we should embrace the meaningless and absurd. I fully agree with his opinion on life because Camus is essentially saying that we should find meaning within a meaningless life and take on life head on. As stated in the ¨Absurdity of Human Existence by Albert Camus, Camus believes that ¨the one truly serious philosophical problem [is suicide].¨ Camus thinks that deciding whether life is worth living is the most fundamental question of philosophy and that ¨suicide is a solution to the absurd.¨ To be absurd is to be ridiculous and what is absurd in life completely depends on the interpreter. There are many absurdities in life Camus groups the biggest absurdities in life into five categories. The first of the absurdities is the repetition of life. We mindlessly repeat our schedules everyday until we realize that we are following an endless cycle that has no meaning that only ends in ¨suicide or recovery.¨ The second absurdity in life is the absurdity of life. Humans are dense and cease to understand the meaning of life outside of the mere images that we claim to understand because we ¨lack the power to make us of that artifice.¨ The third absurdity in life is the absurdity of people because we merely perform meaningless pantomime that ¨makes silly everything that surrounds¨ us everyday; we have no meaning or purpose in ... • 41. Robin Hood Case Study What problems does Robin Hood have? What issues need to be addressed? Robin Hood is facing numerous problems and issues, but I think the most pressing problem is the fact that the band of Merrymen has far outgrown the available resources in Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood s faith in succeeding by strength in numbers is quickly becoming a contributor to their downfall. Income is low at this point as well, so purchasing supplies, whether near or far, will soon become impossible. If the men aren t fed, the men can t function. Not only is the lack of available resources a problem, but the group itself is unorganized and is lacking sufficient leadership. The issue of the group s decline in vigilance and discipline could lead to dire consequences, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Merrymen are well known even in far reaching areas of England. The men have a strong willingness to serve. Weaknesses: Vigilance is quickly declining. Opportunities: Prince John and the Sheriff are not well liked by the people. Their removal is less likely to be contested by many. The barons are beginning to dispute Prince John s claim to the throne. Some barons are already conspiring to return King Richard from imprisonment in Austria. If successfully executed, the Sheriff would no longer have support from Prince John as he would no longer be in power. Robin Hood s recruits from more remote areas of England may have contacts and resources previously unavailable to the band. Threats: The Sheriff is becoming more organized and amassing more money. Wealthy travelers are avoiding the forest due to the high cost of their goods being confiscated. Robin s competitor (the Sheriff) has strong political connections. What concepts of ... • 42. Analyze The Ways In Which Television Has Effected Education In chapter 10 Postman discusses the ways in which television has effected education. He uses the example of Sesame Street quite a lot throughout the chapter. He begins by stating Sesame Street was almost guaranteed to be successful with children due to the fact that having children learn through essentially commercials is nothing new. While the show is educational it is still pure entertainment. He continues of to say that Sesame Street actually goes against traditional book learning but puts of a front that it teaches children to love school. It does not teach children to love school, but rather to love television. Going to a classroom is a place where the children can interact socially and the television show isolates them, in a classroom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In North America, there are 19 abortions per 1,000 women, and 43 abortions per 1,000 women in Eastern Europe. • 44. What Is The Role Of Women In The Tang Dynasty And Women Women in Ancient China during the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty lived in oppressed lives. Society perceived them as inferior to their husbands and parents in law. Their role in the family were to be housewives taking care of their family and maintaining the household chores. They were always under the instructions of their husbands and parents in law in they were treated like servants. They also had no control in their personal decisions because they were not allowed to decide who they were going to marry and what they wanted to do in their careers. Parents of daughters would also force their daughters to foot binding because it would attract potential wealthy husbands. This paper argues that although the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty were known as the golden periods for China, nevertheless, it was overlooked by historians that women during the time were victims of gender inequality because they lived with no control over their personal lives and were expected to be submissive to their husbands. Women were considered inferior to their husbands and were expected to be obedient to them. According to Mencius, one of Confucius most important follower who spread the teachings of Confucianism, When a daughter marries, her mother instructs her. • 45. Gestalt And Humanistic Modes Of Thought Gestalt and humanistic modes of thought share the idea that people have free will and are able to make their own choices in life; also, a high importance is placed on a person s experiences and personal viewpoint (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). Phenomenology, or the introspective analysis of whole conceptual experiences, features prominently in both ideologies (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). Another shared viewpoint is that human beings are unique, and as such there is a limit to what can be learned from other humans, or from the study of animals (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). The thought that people are too complex to be studied with normal scientific methodology is another shared tenet. The main difference between these two ideologies is the basic premise of human nature. Humanistic psychology s primary belief is that human nature is intrinsically good and that their default would be to naturally get along with other people (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). For Gestalt type psychology, the basis of human nature is mainly neutral, and people then have to exercise choice in order to become something else. Coming to understand one s own mortality as a way to live life is part of Gestalt psychology, whereas for humanistic psychology it is not considered as important to human actuality (Hergenhahn Henley, 2014). The application and connection of a humanistic understanding of learning and how it applies to leadership roles also shares some similarities with Gestalt psychology. Developing ...
