Mp Machinery (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Mpm) Is A One Stop...
MP Machinery (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (MPM) is a one stop machinery company in East Malaysia
where it is known as one of the state s leading machinery corporation in supplying pumps,
machineries and various engineering products. After conducting the interview, I have understood
growth in MPM as increasing in employment and business sales/profit as well as involving in
government projects within Malaysia. MPM has been growing sustainably for 28 years employing
around 150 staff with the aim of growing 5 10% profit each year. MPM has been growing organically
where profits have been reinvested to increase capacity such as the building of new stores (Allen,
2006). In other words, this means MPM has been improving its efficiency and effectivity in ... Show

According to Wickham (2006) process of growth model, MPM would be looking into financial growth
as the company focuses commercial activities such as profitability, sales and turnover. Besides,
strategic growth will be taken into account when competing with its competitors in its market industry
in creating or selling new products when compared with their competitors. After implementing the
theories in MPM, it helped me understand MPM s market analysis of rivalry among existing
competitors. Applying Churchill and Lewis model in MPM, it can be said that it is in between Stage
III: Success and Stage IV: Take off, as it has its own brand and have been sustained its business for
over 25 years (Churchill and Lewis, 1983). Over the years, MPM has expanded to more branches of
offices which shows that the company has attained economic health and has sufficient size to ensure
economic success. After applying frameworks and theories, it can be stated that in terms of growth in
a company, I have learnt that it can be applied and indicated differently in distinctive companies. To
exemplify, growth can mean increase in staff employment in a company whereas it can also mean
increase in production volume. However, it is clear that growth must be planned, organised, activated
and controlled (Nieman and Pretorius, 2004). In other words, growth can be either sustaining its
business in the industry or expanding its business. Having to explore

The Origans of Medical Terminology Essay
The Language origins of medical terminology

Medical Terminology (ME 1110)
March 23, 2009
Medical terminology has a long and rich history that evolved in great measure from the Latin and
Greek languages. It is estimated that about three fourths of our medical terminology is of Greek
origin. (Banay) Latin accounts for the majority of root words in the English language. (Fallon).
We find that the oldest written sources of western medicine are The Hippocratic writings from the 5th
and 4th centuries BC; which covers all aspects of medicine at that time and contain numerous medical
terms. (Wulff) This was the beginning of the Greek era of the language of medicine, which lasted even
after the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the disease and condition names first used by Galen have been retained. This accounts for the
fact that the second most common source of medical root words is the Greek Language. Other older
roots have their Arabic. This is due to the fact that Arabic scholars were important teachers of
medicine through the middle ages. Some modern roots are taken from the English language. This
reflects the pre eminence of the English language in medicine and biomedical sciences for the past
half century. The Latin language adds suffixes to nouns to denote different syntax constructions. Since
suffixes were commonly used by Italian scientists, their use in medical settings were also retained.
Some prefixes are adaptations of Latin words. In medical descriptions and terminology, they were
attached to root words rather than being separate from the word that they were modifying. Prefixes are
often used to indicate locations on the body or directions relative to planes or structures in the body.
Some words in modern medical terminology have been borrowed from biology. Many of these are
names of genus and species of pathogens. The use of Latin for these names dates to Carl Linnaeus
(1707 1778) who founded the modern system of taxonomy. Finally, from approximately 1650 through
to 1850 while the system of medical terminology currently in use was being developed Latin was the
language of educated persons. This is another reason for the inclusion of so many linguistic elements

Ancient Egyptians On The Afterlife
The ancient Egyptians had specific views on the afterlife, which they showed in their art and
architectural work. They are noted for their extensive beliefs regarding the soul of the dead that they
would spend time and effort in constructing quality funerary objects. Funerary objects of which those
who were alive would be conscious of, especially since the objects were involved in rituals the living
would take part in. During the middle kingdom, Egyptians would do a pilgrimage to Abydos in upper
Egypt to participate in a festival that honored Osiris, God of the underworld. Stelae would be
displayed in chapels in the city that partook in the celebration of Osiris.
(http://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/544320) Amongst those stelae was the Stela of the
Steward Mentuwoser (figure 1), which depicted a funerary banquet to an honorary official during the
second intermediate period of the twelve dynasty. Senusret I presented this painted limestone stela to
Mentuwoser while he was alive in order to show his appreciation for his work, and to ensure him that
the presence of his image during a festival would bring upon nourishment and rebirth of his ka, an
individuals spiritual entity. Stela of Steward Mentuwoser is dated 1944 BCE. It depicts Mentuwoser s
son, daughter, and father all honoring him differently. Mentuwoser s son directs his spirit, while his

Piaget s Cognitive Theory Of Child Development
Throughout time, various theoretical perspectives have been analyzed and applied to the study of child
development, each focusing on different stages of learning and growth. Teachers, educators and those
caring for young children resort to these theories in order to develop informed and developmentally
appropriate practices. In this paper, I will focus on Piaget s Cognitive Theory of development and how
this theory plays a role in the field of early childhood education. Jean Piaget was the first major
cognitive theorist, emerging in the field of psychology during the second half of the twentieth century.
He was born in August 9, 1896, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland (Smith). His academic training was in
biology, but he also had an interest in epistemology, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Robert J, MacKenzie, children learn concretely, meaning that although children
understand language and are able to communicate with words, actions actually define the rules
teachers try to practice. For example, when a preschooler is asked to put toys away slowly rather than
throwing them, it may be necessary for a teacher or educator to work with the child hand over hand to
show how to do it (29). Clearly, what children experience with their senses, such as what the see, feel,
hear and touch, determines how they think the world around them really is. In all in this paper I briefly
explained Piaget s Cognitive Theory of development. I explored the four different stages of
development that describe how individuals way of thinking changes over time. This theory, along with
many others not discussed in this paper, play an important role in the field of child development. All
of the different theoretical perspectives include different aspects of human development necessary to
provide appropriate developmental practices in educating young children and

Normality And Pathology Of A Christian Therapist
Normality and Pathology The first factor that a Christian therapist needs to consider is the
demarcation between what is considered a sinful action and psychopathology, or normal and abnormal
behavior. However, some authors believe abnormal behavior cannot be so concisely defined (Bennett,
2011), because assessment of abnormal behavior is affected by numerous factors, including social and
cultural norms and biases. All cultures have their own formal and informal rules for behavior. These
rules delineate the laws governing socially acceptable behavior and moral standards, usually within
clear boundaries. When a particular social or moral behavior exceeds the norms of a specific culture,
that behavior is viewed as abnormal (Butcher, 2007). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third factor in defining normal and abnormal behavior is the ambiguity of the breakpoint. There is
no clear center point for the division between normal and abnormal. Butcher (2009) argued that there
is no universal agreement with regard to when a behavior crosses a line from normal to abnormal, and
irrespective of any definition there is always some kind of flaw present. He continued that the more a
person demonstrates difficulties in particular areas of his/her life, the greater the likelihood of
abnormality. Nevertheless, the term mental disorder is applied to a set of categories and classifications
of abnormal human functioning. Millon (1969) grouped perspectives on mental disorders into four
different categories. First, there are biophysical theories, which assume that physiological processes
are the primary determining factors of psychopathology. Second, there are intrapsychic theories which
assume that psychological factors determine abnormal psychological behavior. Third, there is
phenomenological theory which talks about the unique experience and perception of each individual,
and how that perception is lived out. Lastly, behavioral theories assume that the process of learning
through reinforcement shapes pathology in the individual. In the end, the categorization of mental
disorder is inadequate because it does not do justice to the complexity of cognitive, emotional,
spiritual, behavioral and relational factors that are at work in the development

William Blake s Poem The Schoolboy
Many writers construct natural imagery by deploying figurative language throughout their work.
Natural imagery is a prominent feature in the works of William Blake, particularly in his 1789 poem
The Schoolboy published in the poetry collection Songs of Innocence . He explores the theme of
restriction and how freedom can be found in the natural setting, also demonstrating how human
identity can be influenced by these worlds. Blake s own perception of restriction due to education, and
love of imagination and creativity, becomes an undertone of his social commentary. The impact of
vivid imagery is further explored in D. H. Lawrence s 1922 novella The Fox . The juxtaposition
between natural and domestic worlds is examined through literary devices such as metaphor and
symbolism to comment upon the way in which nature can impact identity and relationships. In
contrast, Lawrence further uses domestic imagery in comparison with description of the natural world
to highlight the internal conflict of characters such as March and Henry.
Throughout The Schoolboy there is a clear sense of conflict between the restriction of formal learning
and the freedom that nature can allow. It could be argued that this theme extends into the form of the
poem, with the use of quintain stanzas being unusual during the romantic period perhaps Blake was
consciously going against the traditional conventions of poetry. According to Marshall Brown Blake
assaulted all the canons of

Essay On We Real Cool
Strong Connection in We Real Cool
As well all know, connections are not easy to come by. Connections are made for resembling one
thing to another. In addition to the resemblance, the poem, We Real Cool , has a strong connection that
is shown by the author that help illustrate the meaning of the poem. In the poem of, We Real Cool , by
Gwendolyn Brooks, there is a satisfyingly strong connection involving the poem, title, and author.
Firstly, to show the satisfyingly strong connection from Gwendolyn Brooks, is the poem. In the poem,
We Real Cool , Gwendolyn brooks uses a part of her background in the stanza. The poem, we real
cool , illustrates a gang of people that like to play pool at late hours. The poems stanza begins with the
word, We , to represent the group of people. Gwendolyn writes, We lurk late, we strike straight. We
sing sin, we thin gin , in the second and third stanza, pointing out the attributes of these people back in
the 1960 s. Furthermore, the second and third stanza also commemorates their life and what they did
to consider themselves real cool, with the help of vivid words that were used to show visual imagery
in the poem, such as left school, lurk late, strike straight, sing sin, thin gin, jazz June, and die soon,
henceforth illustrating the connection between the poem and title. ... Show more content on

Sacrifice Judgments In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey
It is well known that young men and women are not the best judges of friends; this holds especially
true when they have little experience with friendship, and few chances to truly understand people and
how they act. When Jane Austen began editing her first novel, Northanger Abbey, in 1803, at the age
of 28, she had gone through the same troubling period during adolescence, but once she was older, she
had found her own set group of friends, and was especially close to Anne Lefroy and her sister
Cassandra. Using several aspects of her early life, she sought to guide her audience into evaluating
their relationships with others. Throughout the novel, Austen allows her naïve protagonist to be
constantly deceived and misled by those around her to suggest that people should be wary of false
judgments and ulterior motives when choosing their friends and true knowledge of human interactions
cannot be replaced or replicated. Although Catherine is a very well read young woman, her ability to
read people is very lacking. With her mind about as ignorant and uninformed as the female ... Show

A New Optimization Technique And The Foraging Strategy Of...
In 2002, a new optimization technique was proposed by Passino which is inspired by the foraging
strategy of Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) bacteria present in human intestines called Bacteria Foraging
Optimization Algorithm (BFOA) [1]. It is a population based stochastic search algorithm that has been
introduced to solve the problem related to optimization and control system. Since its inception, BFOA
successfully has drawn the attention of many researchers from diverse fields to exploit its performance
as a high performance optimizer and has been successfully applied in real world applications such as

By sending the signal, it enables an individual bacterium to communicate with others. Healthy
bacteria will be reproduced and poor foraging bacteria will be eliminated. The bacteria will keep
repeating these processes in their lifetime.
In BFOA, each of the individual bacteria in the search space is representing an individual solution to
the optimization problem [6]. Each bacterium will undergo chemotactic steps to the direction of
minimum fitness function (rich in nutrients). During the taxis, each bacterium will communicate with
other to swarm in the group toward the global optimum. Bacteria will be evaluated again according to
their health and sorted in ascending order. Half of them with better health will be reproduced by
splitting into two and the other half of poor health bacteria will be eliminated from the search space. In
order to explore more space, some of the bacteria will be eliminated and reinitialized randomly to
explore unvisited space in order to find the global minimum or maximum point. For better
understanding, this algorithm mechanism will be explained in solving an optimization problem.
In optimization problem that we need to find the minimum of J(θ), θ ∈ ℜp, where we do not have
measurements or an analytical description of the gradient ∇J(θ). This problem is considered as a non
gradient optimization problem. BFOA does not rely on the gradient function to operate but use
concentration of location of search space as the fitness function. Let θ be

Cultural competence plays a significant role in health care delivery. There is a lack of cultural
competence in the U.S. heath care. Despite current effort to deal with the issue, the problem still exist
and many patients are suffering from it impact. Many people are not being able to get adequate care
due to the lack of communication, languages, beliefs, values, perspective, and customs. Cultural
competence barriers are critical in reducing health disparity. Those barriers include: lack of diversity
in the healthcare settings, lack of system of care that can address the needs of various populations,
inadequate communication between healthcare providers and patients of distinct ethnic, racial,
language, belief, customs, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Lately many hospitals across the nation
took the imitative to start promoting cultural competence by implementing different programs that
help both the patient and health care providers. Cultural competence helps to improve access to high
quality of care that responds to the need of the patients. Lack of cultural competence between patients
and healthcare providers can impact the outcome of care provided. Furthermore, a lack of culturally
sensitive care can compromise the quality of the healthcare that the patient receives (Anderson,
Scrimshaw, Fullilove, Fielding, Normand, 2003). Healthcare providers have to understand they own
worldviews and the patients, while avoiding categorization of patients. In

Influence Of John Locke s Second Treatise On Government
Political organization is the framework for a government s operation. It is generally highly varied
between different governments, but often takes one of several standard forms, which tend to be
categorized as tending toward democratic or an authoritarian. However, whatever its structure may be,
a government must have political legitimacy in order to function and maintain a monopoly over its
subjects and affairs. Government is perceived to be legitimate by those it rules when its political
organization operates unequivocally within certain parameters deemed appropriate by its subjects, and
when punishment and law is executed equitably. Given that the parameters for government affairs are
based on public perception, which is built off of societal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contemporary scholars have built off John Locke s ideas on legitimacy to conclude several factors
that weigh into whether or not the people perceive government as legitimate, such as whether or not
the state s actions can be morally defended. In plain terms, the people must view having the
government as a preferable alternative to not having the government. There is no consent if the people
resent the government s existence or feel that the government s existence is unjustified. Another
important factor of legitimacy is the extent to which the people feel obligated to obey government
edict without coercive measures. If the people do not feel obligated to follow the state s commands,
the government then obviously lacks legitimacy. Any obligation a state s subjects feel stems from the
government s justifiability and moral defensibility. These two factors must be strong enough to
compel the subjects into following government order instead of following alternative pursuits to
accomplish individual goals. Legitimate government actually has this ability, while illegitimate
authority merely purports it. However, even legitimate governments have parameters that limit what
the state may ask of its subjects. These parameters are derived from the subjects, based on what they
feel is appropriate for the government to do and what they will allow the government to do without

What causes MS is unknown; Scientists believe there are several factors that cause MS including
immunologic, environmental, infectious, and genetic. MS is 2 to 3 times more common in women
than men. MS is not inherited but genetics plays an important role in who gets the disease. While most
people are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, young children and teenagers may develop this
life altering illness. MS is more common in northern latitudes that are further from the equator and
less common in areas closer to the equator however, known in all parts of the world. MS occurs in
most ethnic groups, including African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics/Latinos, but are more
common in Caucasians of the northern European ancestry ( What is Multiple Sclerosis ). According to
Margret Vickers the Sociologists have been concerned about the inequality of patients that have a
chronic to life altering disease especially at work. A person with a disability is categorized as being
other, different, and outside the norm, faces obstacles of trying to fit in to the working environment.
Furthermore, employees who don t possess the physical, emotional or cognitive attributes that others
present maybe stigmatized or discredited. The workplace remains difficult for people with a life
altering illness to negotiate and be secure furthermore employment has actually decreased worldwide.

The Use Of Electronic Media And Social Media
Social media also known as electronic media has become ubiquitous for teenagers and has been
exponentially increasing. Communication which once was in person or by telephone now can be done
online without physical contact or connection. Adolescents spend countless hours of their lives
attached to devices with the intent of communicating with others, sharing their daily lives, and
acquiring new information, but neglect the other aspects of their lives by spending more time on social

EXISTING PRODUCT Since the origin of Mobile phones, the only thing that has not developed
much in mobile phones is the SIM card i.e. Subscriber Identity Module Card. It is a device which has
user identity, network authorization data, personal security keys, contact lists and text messages.
Functionality of the SIM card: Identification of a User: The International Mobile Subscriber Identity
programmed on the SIM card, is the identity of a user, which is linked to a mobile number.
Authentication of a User: A unique response is provided by each user based on International Mobile
Subscriber Identity. By matching this response with network a legal user is logged on to the network
and he or she can now use the services of the mobile service provider. Applications: Provides basic
information on demand for m commerce, chatting, cell broadcast, phonebook backup, location based
services etc. Storage: To store phone numbers and SMS. The first SIM cards were the size of credit
cards, then the telecom companies reduced the size several times over the years. SIM Card History
However, they have not made any significant efforts to avoid it, which is resulting in increased size as
well as weight of mobile phones. And it can be clearly seen that, the size of integrated circuit in SIM

Thus, to be compatible with the accuracy of gyros and accelerometers currently in use, a rate table
system must be capable of measuring and controlling angular velocities down to the order of 0.001
degree per second. Single Axis test tables provide precise angular position, rate and acceleration for
development and production testing of inertial components and systems. What is Gyroscope? Micro
machined inertial sensors, consisting of accelerometers and gyroscopes are one of the most important
types of silicon based sensors. A gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based
on the principles of angular momentum. The Gyroscope developed at GIKI is a thermally actuated 3
DoF micro machined gyroscope utilizing Chevron thermal actuators to drive proof mass. There are a
number of actuation mechanisms which include electrostatic, piezoelectric, thermal etc. The benefits
of this design will be described later. These actuators are activated by Joule heating. When a potential
difference is applied between two or more points on electrically conducting material it causes flow of
electrical current which induces thermal strain due to internal heating. Consequently these thermal
strains generate the desired mechanical deformation or force. These thermal actuators are capable of
providing a large force. There are two types of thermal actuators: hot/cold

There is an interesting trend growing in the US within families who want their children to learn a

effectively kills two birds with one stone giving them someone to look after their young ones while

More and more parents are recognising the importance of being bilingual and understand that it is
much easier to learn a language as a child than as an adult. To that end then they are hiring foreign

Jathon Wayne Noble Analysis
Bad to Recovery Jonathon Wayne Nobles was a well known murderer in the 80 s. He has a
background of drug abuse and mental illness. The traits had lead him to the perpetuated situation of
killing two girls and stabbing a man. That explains why he was on death row. The time spent in prison
changed his privileges and respect, actions, and whether he was proclaimed good or bad. Noble wants
others to feel sorry for him by gaining their respect. For example, in the introduction between Jon and
Richard Bethard leads to the fact that Nobles has gained the respect of others in the prison by his
conversations and interactions with others. He describes Bethard beams, saying he is one of my

Did Nobles really change? Believing everyone is born good, circumstances change some people.
Others have a deep seeded bad side that at some point makes them snap while doing something no one
could think possible of them. One thing for sure is he made a lot of people think he had changed those
he made friends with. For example, when Dona and his pen pal Pam are strip searched and brought to
the site of the execution it shows that Pam has come all the way around the world to see the execution.
Karen Sebung accompanies me as far as the waiting area where we witnesses are searched, then Dona
and Pam are escorted to another room by a female officer. When they return a large man enters the
room and introduces himself as an officer of the prison s Internal Affair Division. (Earle 80).
Concluding that Jonathan Nobles as the choice to be good or bad, he truly shows that he is not a good
person. Two out of three people who serve time in prison never come back, and only eleven percent
come back multiple times. (slate.com) The situational rehabilitation comes into play when talking
about his change. All the manipulation of others provides evidence that he never really rehabilitated.
Jonathan Wayne Nobles was never really habilitated because of him wanting others to feel sorry for
him, actions influenced by how others treat him, and the fact of him being good or bad. All the
concepts make up the fact that Nobles never really learned anything while being imprisoned. He only
received more privileges for his wrong doing. The actions gave him more leeway to get closer to
others while making them a friend of his. He learned to adapt to the surroundings and make it work to
his advantage. With all the transformations back and forth from good too bad he never gave a true

Moll Flanders Analysis
In Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders we follow a woman named Moll throughout her life. She encounters
several serious situations, gets married five times, and has many children that she leaves in the care of
their fathers or paternal grandparents. As a society, the first emotion that comes to our minds when we
recognize these behaviors in a woman is disgust, after all, how could a woman leave her children?
However, if a man did the very same some readers wouldn t give it a second thought. Defoe s story
brings to light societal concerns regarding women in his time period and how society should address
them.
The key issue is the number of children Moll has and leaves behind. In total, she has 12 children by
the end of her story; three are dead, seven that are left with their fathers or grandparents, and two of
which are left unaccounted for. Only one does she ever reunite with and not until late in life. To
society, the question remains, why she didn t try her best to bring up and support her children from her
first husband. Scholars question whether it was due to her own abandonment as an infant and lack of a
motherly figure to teach her how to love her own children, they were nothing more than a
happenstance of sex, or if it was because she was never able to feel secure of her own basic needs and
thus couldn t think to take care of another s. Firstly, Moll was born in a prison because her mother was
a convicted felon. After six months, her mother was transferred to a

Compare And Contrast Antigone And Martin Luther King
Antigone and Martin Luther King Analysis
Antigone and Dr. Martin Luther king demonstrate that breaking laws that are unjust can be a good
thing by bringing reform. Their nonviolent approach of civil disobedience till this day leave an impact
on how we go about social injustice. Through their actions and words, both Antigone, and Dr. Martin
Luther king demonstrate that they are not afraid to die for their beliefs and inspire us to take a passive
approach towards the social injustices we are faced by in our community. I sympathize more with Dr.
Martin Luther King because I believe that he took a more logical approach in stopping social injustice,
as well as the fact that he is willing to put his life on the line for a whole community of people, in
contrast to Antigone who is willing to die for solely her brother.
The first story I will be analyzing will be Antigone by Sophocles, and translated by Ruby Blondell.
After Antigone s brothers, Eteocles and Polynices battle for the throne of Thebes, they both die and
their uncle Creon becomes king. Creon sends orders that Eteocles be buried while Polynices, the
invader be left to rot. Additionally, Creon insist that whoever tries to bury Polynices should also be put
to death. Antigone buries Polynices anyways resulting in Creon sentencing her to death. Instead,
Antigone commits suicide causing the suicide of her fiancé, Creon s son, as well as Creons wife.
The second piece that I will be analyzing is Letter from Birmingham Jail ,

This great demand for and simultaneous legalization of alcohol opened up a new illegal market for the

everyone down, now that they can t drink a beer and go out with friends anymore Al Capone thought
he could take the reigns of this situation by starting to bootleg beer. He was already a leader of a very
large and successful gang so he thought that if he could get his men to secretly bootleg beer in and out
of Chicago then he would become one of the richest men in the U.S.. His dream came true as he

the endocrine system that produce hormones, but for this experiment we are particularly interested in
the pituitary gland and the intermediate lobe because those are the two parts of it that produce
Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone (MHS). These hormones are peptide hormones that are produced in
response to UV light, but are not a direct feedback mechanism. When the hormones are secreted out of
the glands, they travel through the bloodstream until they reach melanocytes located in the skin
between the epidermal and dermal layers, where they transport ... Show more content on

Specifically in red hair, light skin people and in dogs.
2. Specific Aim(s): Questions that will be answered: How particular SNP s ultimately affect the
structure and function of the MSH receptor, leading to decreased signaling by the receptor. What is the
normal structure and function of the MHS receptor? Where within the structure do normal amino acids
reside? What is the side chain structure of the variant and non variant amino acids at the polymorphic
sites? How might the variant amino acids alter the structure and/or function of the protein?
A. The goal of this project is to find a correlation between the MSHR amino acid variation and skin
type. Then use the correlation to explore the effects of amino acid variants on the structure and
function of the MSH receptor.
B. Hypothesis: If we can perform the PCR reaction of a dogs DNA, then we will be able to compare
its amino acid structure to its hair color, as well as simply compare it to a humans.
C. We will test this hypothesis by attempting to see if we can perform the PCR reaction for dogs, since
the primers are optimized for humans. If we can we will sequence them with human DNA.
Additionally, we will also see if we can modify the PCR reaction in order to obtain a PCR product
from the dog DNA. If we get a product from the PCR reaction, it will be

Dairy-Free Diet Research Paper
Transition Tips Transitioning to a dairy free diet can be scary especially when you understand how
many foods you will need to eliminate from your diet. It is better to make a slow transition. Below are
a couple of steps you can follow to make the dairy free transition smoother. 1. Take it slow. The first
step is to replace milk with non dairy options like soy, rice, hemp or almond milks. You can find most
of the in major grocery stores and the price is comparable to dairy milk. Replacing dairy yogurt with
non daily ones made from coconut, rice, soy or other non dairy milk is a great option. Slowly
eliminate dairy cheese and ice cream. Try non dairy alternatives of your favorite foods. 2. Keep your
pantry stocked. To successfully go dairy free for the long term, your pantry has to be well stocked with
options and foods that provide fuel. Fresh produce, herbs and spices, edamame and legumes, rolled
oats, quinoa, almonds and other non daily milk products are a great start for your pantry. Look for
what other dairy free enthusiasts are putting into their pantries and you will get a great idea of the
foods you should be eating. If you like to bake, consider non dairy baking ingredients. ... Show more

Don t be too hard on yourself when you slip up. It will happen so don t expect perfection. Keep
reading labels, making good choices and building from your mistakes. The more you do it, adjusting
to a dairy free diet becomes easier. 4. Don t let your mistakes keep you down, learn from them. You
might have to relearn cooking and baking again. What is the best way to cook dry beans? How do you
roast fresh root veggies? You will have to figure out how much carrots, onions etc. to mix together to
get a taste you enjoy. Make Google and YouTube your friend. There is an endless selection of
cookbooks and TV cooking shows out there that outline how to cook non dairy

Rites Of Passage, Right Or Wrong
Rites of Passage, Right or Wrong ? Throughout history the term rights of passage has been used to
describe the transition of a person into a new stage of their lives. Rites of passage are relevant in every
day life all over the world. Most prominently though, Africa has a large population of people whose
groups still practice traditional rites of passage to mark special life achievements. Basically, anything
meaningful that happens within their tribe such as the birth of a child, the entrance into adulthood,
marriage, death, and so on, are all celebrated with the completion of different customs. The
celebration of rituals include dances, songs, and other formalities, however groups across the
continent also use varying methods of initiation that most commonly include circumcision in both
sexes. For decades, people have questioned whether or not this traditional initiation ritual is necessary
and if it could possibly be harmful to young people within certain tribes that practice them. Much
controversy surrounds the issue of following tradition even while performing procedures such as
female mutilation. How are these rites of passage viewed as beneficial and how are they seen as
destructive? What are some alternative rites of passage for these young initiates? A rite of passage, in
African culture, is a ceremonial event in which a person enters into a new stage of their life(Haley,
McNaughton, Moss, Sallah and Wilson 3). Many of the traditional rituals and ceremonies

Black Tuesday
The stock market crash, October 29, 1929 this is also known as Black Tuesday. The Great Depression
was an economic slump in North America and Europe. The industrialized Western world had
experienced the most ruthless and prolonged depression. Cinderella Man is only one example of how
families struggle and overcame the great depression. You will see how this effective many Americans.
Why the stock market crashed, was due to two factors, economic and financial. For example economic
factors where, poor distribution of wealth, many consumers relied on credit, credit dried up, consumer
spending dropped and industries struggled. Financial factors were a threat to the stock market rise in
the mid 1920s. Speculation in stock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In view of the fact that consumers are not purchasing as much food, farmers are struggling in saving
their farms. Also, the drought or also known as the dust storms are contributing to this reason. Since
people were not buying as much the farmers could not afford to keep the farms, and the drought was
making it even more difficult to grow food. Therefore, unable to make payments they would either file
for bankruptcy or may be foreclosed. With these failures came unemployment, this is cause by not
having enough jobs for people. The unemployment rate rose up to 25 percent, some areas where even
higher than that. Hoovervilles and hoboes where the new social groups created by unemployment.
Hoovervilles are people who lived in shacks on the out skirts of towns or parks to accommodate the
homeless. Hoboes were people who took to the road. They would travel from town to town in search
of work, food and housing. A lot of them would try to travel by boarding a moving train this was
extremely dangerous. Hoboes develop a language all to their own to tell each other of honest and
dishonest opportunities. The Great Depression took a highly emotional toll on every American.
The depression affected Jim Braddock and his family in many ways. One way was he could not get
work do to his hand been broken from boxing. Jim was not able to afford the essentials to survive (i.e.

The Importance Of Team Dynamics And Communication
Throughout my semester in SciTech, perhaps the most important thing that I took away from my
experience was the importance of team dynamics and communication in collaborative projects, and
this is particularly true in engineering fields, where it is absolutely essential to success, and, in my
opinion, significantly more important than the skill of knowledge of individual team members after a
certain point. Every team that I was part of during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge
especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises,
though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the
challenge before D4 with a significant amount of time to spare, though we did have some issues with
time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills to the
task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for
example, organizational abilities, or other things of that nature, these are effectively useless without a
developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively resolve
disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For
example, one of my group members spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the
FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which

Inaccuracies In Selma
Selma was a movie released at the end of 2014 which portrayed the struggles Martin Luther King, Jr.
and others working closely with him had trying to get the black right to vote in Selma, Alabama. The
movie portrays many clear points, and has largely accurate information. However, in the movie Selma,
there are some clear inaccuracies in the movie that were created to further the plot
The film Selma takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in Selma, Alabama during 1965.
However, there were more struggles going on in the United States than just the black civil rights
movement led by Martin Luther King, Jr. Mexican Americans struggled for fair wages at their jobs as
migrant workers, and the United States fought an ideological war abroad in ... Show more content on

Section 4 established a formula for Congress to use when determining if a state or voting jurisdiction
requires prior approval before changing its voting laws (Brunner, Haney, Timeline). The Voting Rights
Act, which was initially brought before Congress almost directly because of the Selma to Montgomery
march led by MLK, was slightly adjusted to be more fair to all races. Because this was slightly
adjusted, it may have brought people back in time to wondering about the actual civil rights
movement, and what it took to get such a law passed. Selma demonstrated fairly accurately all the
hardships necessary to procure such a law. In general, the American public was likely beginning to
shift to a focus on civil liberties again, rather than the harsh post 9/11 federally controlled time period

Hamlet, By William Shakespeare
During the course of Shakespeare s Hamlet , the character of young Hamlet exemplifies an often
puzzling and ambivalent persona. During the play, Hamlet is often contradicting of himself. By role
playing, or self fashioning, Hamlet is able to balance his virtues in order to stay true to himself. This is
demonstrated by his decisions to act upon something, as well as his inactions to not act upon
something. The obscurity of Hamlet s mannerisms are displayed within two conflicting personas: one
that is perceived as calm and rational; the other displaying utter madness and loss of control. These
conflicting behaviors are revealed within Hamlet s internal struggles to kill those responsible for his
father s murder, or to act responsibly and virtuous, and await further proof of their guilt. Throughout
the play, Hamlet teeters on the brink of insanity induced by his actions, or inactions, but never actually
crosses the threshold of insanity by balancing the virtues of playing a role and self fashioning, with
looking at his own sense of self to rationalize his actions throughout the play.
Clarification of Hamlet s sanity first appears in act one, by his statements and feelings expressed
within his dialogue. Seems madam? Nay, it is. I know not seems (1.2.76). When young Hamlet is
asked about his depressive appearance and demeanor by Gertrude, Hamlet denotes that this is what is
perceived. This relates the idea that Hamlet is only what he appears to be as seen by the other

Grutter V. Bollinger
My area of interest is behavior analysis but for the purpose of this discussion I chose this case. Is it
illegal for graduate schools to refuse admittance to their program in preference of a different race that
meet the same qualifications? Our state and federal legislatures, executive bodies, and our courts have
been involved in many aspects of testing assessment. Courts have been grappling with the role of
diversity in criteria for admission to colleges, universities, and professional schools (Cohen, 2013). In
the case of Grutter v. Bollinger (2002) was a highly divided decision, the U.S. Supreme Court
approved the use of race in admission decisions on a time limited basis to further the educational
benefits that flow from a diverse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Law School initially placed petitioner on a waiting list, but subsequently rejected her application.
Petitioner alleged that respondents discriminated against her on the basis of race in violation of the
Fourteenth Amendment. Petitioner further alleged that her application was rejected because the Law
School uses race as a predominant factor, giving applicants who belong to certain minority groups a
significantly greater chance of admission than students with similar credentials from disfavored racial
groups. Petitioner further alleged that her application was rejected because the Law School uses race
as a predominant factor, giving applicants who belong to certain minority groups a significantly
greater chance of admission than students with similar credentials from disfavored racial groups. The
outcome of this ruling was the court ruled in favor that someone can be denied admission in
preference of a different race that meet the same qualifications. The University of Michigan Law
School was conducting highly individualized reviews of each applicant, and the courts determined that
race was only one of the many factors they had considered for eligibility of their applicants (Grutter,

(MPM) is a one stop machinery company in East Malaysia where it is known as one of the state s leading machinery corporation in supplying pumps, machineries and various engineering products. After conducting the interview, I have understood growth in MPM as increasing in employment and business sales/profit as well as involving in government projects within Malaysia. MPM has been growing sustainably for 28 years employing around 150 staff with the aim of growing 5 10% profit each year. MPM has been growing organically where profits have been reinvested to increase capacity such as the building of new stores (Allen, 2006). According to Wickham (2006) process of growth model, MPM would be looking into financial growth as the company focuses commercial activities such as profitability, sales and turnover. Besides, strategic growth will be taken into account when competing with its competitors in its market industry in creating or selling new products when compared with their competitors. After implementing the theories in MPM, it helped me understand MPM s market analysis of rivalry among existing competitors. Applying Churchill and Lewis model in MPM, it can be said that it is in between Stage III: Success and Stage IV: Take off, as it has its own brand and have been sustained its business for over 25 years (Churchill and Lewis, 1983). Over the years, MPM has expanded to more branches of offices which shows that the company has attained economic health and has sufficient size to ensure economic success. After applying frameworks and theories, it can be stated that in terms of growth in a company, I have learnt that it can be applied and indicated differently in distinctive companies. To exemplify, growth can mean increase in staff employment in a company whereas it can also mean increase in production volume. However, it is clear that growth must be planned, organised, activated and controlled (Nieman and Pretorius, 2004). In other words, growth can be either sustaining its business in the industry or expanding its business. Having to explore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Origans of Medical Terminology Essay The Language origins of medical terminology Christy Hajdaj Ms. Fobear Medical Terminology (ME 1110) March 23, 2009 Medical terminology has a long and rich history that evolved in great measure from the Latin and Greek languages. It is estimated that about three fourths of our medical terminology is of Greek origin. (Banay) Latin accounts for the majority of root words in the English language. (Fallon). We find that the oldest written sources of western medicine are The Hippocratic writings from the 5th and 4th centuries BC; which covers all aspects of medicine at that time and contain numerous medical terms. Many of the disease and condition names first used by Galen have been retained. This accounts for the fact that the second most common source of medical root words is the Greek Language. Other older roots have their Arabic. This is due to the fact that Arabic scholars were important teachers of medicine through the middle ages. Some modern roots are taken from the English language. This reflects the pre eminence of the English language in medicine and biomedical sciences for the past half century. The Latin language adds suffixes to nouns to denote different syntax constructions. Since suffixes were commonly used by Italian scientists, their use in medical settings were also retained. Some prefixes are adaptations of Latin words. In medical descriptions and terminology, they were attached to root words rather than being separate from the word that they were modifying. Prefixes are often used to indicate locations on the body or directions relative to planes or structures in the body. Some words in modern medical terminology have been borrowed from biology. Many of these are names of genus and species of pathogens. The use of Latin for these names dates to Carl Linnaeus (1707 1778) who founded the modern system of taxonomy. Finally, from approximately 1650 through to 1850 while the system of medical terminology currently in use was being developed Latin was the language of educated persons. This is another reason for the inclusion of so many linguistic elements ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Piaget s Cognitive Theory Of Child Development Throughout time, various theoretical perspectives have been analyzed and applied to the study of child development, each focusing on different stages of learning and growth. Teachers, educators and those caring for young children resort to these theories in order to develop informed and developmentally appropriate practices. In this paper, I will focus on Piaget s Cognitive Theory of development and how this theory plays a role in the field of early childhood education. Jean Piaget was the first major cognitive theorist, emerging in the field of psychology during the second half of the twentieth century. He was born in August 9, 1896, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland (Smith). His academic training was in biology, but he also had an interest in epistemology, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Robert J, MacKenzie, children learn concretely, meaning that although children understand language and are able to communicate with words, actions actually define the rules teachers try to practice. For example, when a preschooler is asked to put toys away slowly rather than throwing them, it may be necessary for a teacher or educator to work with the child hand over hand to show how to do it (29). Clearly, what children experience with their senses, such as what the see, feel, hear and touch, determines how they think the world around them really is. In all in this paper I briefly explained Piaget s Cognitive Theory of development. I explored the four different stages of development that describe how individuals way of thinking changes over time. This theory, along with many others not discussed in this paper, play an important role in the field of child development. All of the different theoretical perspectives include different aspects of human development necessary to provide appropriate developmental practices in educating young children and ... • 9. Normality And Pathology Of A Christian Therapist Normality and Pathology The first factor that a Christian therapist needs to consider is the demarcation between what is considered a sinful action and psychopathology, or normal and abnormal behavior. However, some authors believe abnormal behavior cannot be so concisely defined (Bennett, 2011), because assessment of abnormal behavior is affected by numerous factors, including social and cultural norms and biases. All cultures have their own formal and informal rules for behavior. These rules delineate the laws governing socially acceptable behavior and moral standards, usually within clear boundaries. When a particular social or moral behavior exceeds the norms of a specific culture, that behavior is viewed as abnormal (Butcher, 2007). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third factor in defining normal and abnormal behavior is the ambiguity of the breakpoint. There is no clear center point for the division between normal and abnormal. Butcher (2009) argued that there is no universal agreement with regard to when a behavior crosses a line from normal to abnormal, and irrespective of any definition there is always some kind of flaw present. He continued that the more a person demonstrates difficulties in particular areas of his/her life, the greater the likelihood of abnormality. Nevertheless, the term mental disorder is applied to a set of categories and classifications of abnormal human functioning. Millon (1969) grouped perspectives on mental disorders into four different categories. First, there are biophysical theories, which assume that physiological processes are the primary determining factors of psychopathology. Second, there are intrapsychic theories which assume that psychological factors determine abnormal psychological behavior. Third, there is phenomenological theory which talks about the unique experience and perception of each individual, and how that perception is lived out. Lastly, behavioral theories assume that the process of learning through reinforcement shapes pathology in the individual. In the end, the categorization of mental disorder is inadequate because it does not do justice to the complexity of cognitive, emotional, spiritual, behavioral and relational factors that are at work in the development ... • 10. William Blake s Poem The Schoolboy Many writers construct natural imagery by deploying figurative language throughout their work. Natural imagery is a prominent feature in the works of William Blake, particularly in his 1789 poem The Schoolboy published in the poetry collection Songs of Innocence . He explores the theme of restriction and how freedom can be found in the natural setting, also demonstrating how human identity can be influenced by these worlds. Blake s own perception of restriction due to education, and love of imagination and creativity, becomes an undertone of his social commentary. The impact of vivid imagery is further explored in D. H. Lawrence s 1922 novella The Fox . The juxtaposition between natural and domestic worlds is examined through literary devices such as metaphor and symbolism to comment upon the way in which nature can impact identity and relationships. In contrast, Lawrence further uses domestic imagery in comparison with description of the natural world to highlight the internal conflict of characters such as March and Henry. Throughout The Schoolboy there is a clear sense of conflict between the restriction of formal learning and the freedom that nature can allow. It could be argued that this theme extends into the form of the poem, with the use of quintain stanzas being unusual during the romantic period perhaps Blake was consciously going against the traditional conventions of poetry. According to Marshall Brown Blake assaulted all the canons of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Sacrifice Judgments In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey It is well known that young men and women are not the best judges of friends; this holds especially true when they have little experience with friendship, and few chances to truly understand people and how they act. When Jane Austen began editing her first novel, Northanger Abbey, in 1803, at the age of 28, she had gone through the same troubling period during adolescence, but once she was older, she had found her own set group of friends, and was especially close to Anne Lefroy and her sister Cassandra. Using several aspects of her early life, she sought to guide her audience into evaluating their relationships with others. Throughout the novel, Austen allows her naïve protagonist to be constantly deceived and misled by those around her to suggest that people should be wary of false judgments and ulterior motives when choosing their friends and true knowledge of human interactions cannot be replaced or replicated. Healthy bacteria will be reproduced and poor foraging bacteria will be eliminated. The bacteria will keep repeating these processes in their lifetime. Each bacterium will undergo chemotactic steps to the direction of minimum fitness function (rich in nutrients). During the taxis, each bacterium will communicate with other to swarm in the group toward the global optimum. Bacteria will be evaluated again according to their health and sorted in ascending order. Half of them with better health will be reproduced by splitting into two and the other half of poor health bacteria will be eliminated from the search space. In order to explore more space, some of the bacteria will be eliminated and reinitialized randomly to explore unvisited space in order to find the global minimum or maximum point. It is generally highly varied between different governments, but often takes one of several standard forms, which tend to be categorized as tending toward democratic or an authoritarian. However, whatever its structure may be, a government must have political legitimacy in order to function and maintain a monopoly over its subjects and affairs. Contemporary scholars have built off John Locke s ideas on legitimacy to conclude several factors that weigh into whether or not the people perceive government as legitimate, such as whether or not the state s actions can be morally defended. In plain terms, the people must view having the government as a preferable alternative to not having the government. There is no consent if the people resent the government s existence or feel that the government s existence is unjustified. Another important factor of legitimacy is the extent to which the people feel obligated to obey government edict without coercive measures. If the people do not feel obligated to follow the state s commands, the government then obviously lacks legitimacy. Any obligation a state s subjects feel stems from the government s justifiability and moral defensibility. These two factors must be strong enough to compel the subjects into following government order instead of following alternative pursuits to accomplish individual goals. Legitimate government actually has this ability, while illegitimate authority merely purports it. However, even legitimate governments have parameters that limit what the state may ask of its subjects. These parameters are derived from the subjects, based on what they feel is appropriate for the government to do and what they will allow the government to do without ... Thus, to be compatible with the accuracy of gyros and accelerometers currently in use, a rate table system must be capable of measuring and controlling angular velocities down to the order of 0.001 degree per second. Single Axis test tables provide precise angular position, rate and acceleration for development and production testing of inertial components and systems. What is Gyroscope? Micro machined inertial sensors, consisting of accelerometers and gyroscopes are one of the most important types of silicon based sensors. A gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based on the principles of angular momentum. The Gyroscope developed at GIKI is a thermally actuated 3 DoF micro machined gyroscope utilizing Chevron thermal actuators to drive proof mass. There are a number of actuation mechanisms which include electrostatic, piezoelectric, thermal etc. The benefits of this design will be described later. These actuators are activated by Joule heating. When a potential difference is applied between two or more points on electrically conducting material it causes flow of electrical current which induces thermal strain due to internal heating. Consequently these thermal strains generate the desired mechanical deformation or force. These thermal actuators are capable of providing a large force. There are two types of thermal actuators: hot/cold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, when Dona and his pen pal Pam are strip searched and brought to the site of the execution it shows that Pam has come all the way around the world to see the execution. Karen Sebung accompanies me as far as the waiting area where we witnesses are searched, then Dona and Pam are escorted to another room by a female officer. She encounters several serious situations, gets married five times, and has many children that she leaves in the care of their fathers or paternal grandparents. As a society, the first emotion that comes to our minds when we recognize these behaviors in a woman is disgust, after all, how could a woman leave her children? However, if a man did the very same some readers wouldn t give it a second thought. Defoe s story brings to light societal concerns regarding women in his time period and how society should address them. The key issue is the number of children Moll has and leaves behind. In total, she has 12 children by the end of her story; three are dead, seven that are left with their fathers or grandparents, and two of which are left unaccounted for. Only one does she ever reunite with and not until late in life. To society, the question remains, why she didn t try her best to bring up and support her children from her first husband. Scholars question whether it was due to her own abandonment as an infant and lack of a motherly figure to teach her how to love her own children, they were nothing more than a happenstance of sex, or if it was because she was never able to feel secure of her own basic needs and thus couldn t think to take care of another s. Compare And Contrast Antigone And Martin Luther King Antigone and Martin Luther King Analysis Antigone and Dr. Martin Luther king demonstrate that breaking laws that are unjust can be a good thing by bringing reform. Their nonviolent approach of civil disobedience till this day leave an impact on how we go about social injustice. Through their actions and words, both Antigone, and Dr. Martin Luther king demonstrate that they are not afraid to die for their beliefs and inspire us to take a passive approach towards the social injustices we are faced by in our community. I sympathize more with Dr. Martin Luther King because I believe that he took a more logical approach in stopping social injustice, as well as the fact that he is willing to put his life on the line for a whole community of people, in contrast to Antigone who is willing to die for solely her brother. The first story I will be analyzing will be Antigone by Sophocles, and translated by Ruby Blondell. Every team that I was part of during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises, though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the challenge before D4 with a significant amount of time to spare, though we did have some issues with time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills to the task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for example, organizational abilities, or other things of that nature, these are effectively useless without a developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively resolve disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For example, one of my group members spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which ... • 45. Inaccuracies In Selma Selma was a movie released at the end of 2014 which portrayed the struggles Martin Luther King, Jr. and others working closely with him had trying to get the black right to vote in Selma, Alabama. The movie portrays many clear points, and has largely accurate information. However, in the movie Selma, there are some clear inaccuracies in the movie that were created to further the plot The film Selma takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in Selma, Alabama during 1965. However, there were more struggles going on in the United States than just the black civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King, Jr. Mexican Americans struggled for fair wages at their jobs as migrant workers, and the United States fought an ideological war abroad in ... Section 4 established a formula for Congress to use when determining if a state or voting jurisdiction requires prior approval before changing its voting laws (Brunner, Haney, Timeline). The Voting Rights Act, which was initially brought before Congress almost directly because of the Selma to Montgomery march led by MLK, was slightly adjusted to be more fair to all races. Because this was slightly adjusted, it may have brought people back in time to wondering about the actual civil rights movement, and what it took to get such a law passed. Selma demonstrated fairly accurately all the hardships necessary to procure such a law. In general, the American public was likely beginning to shift to a focus on civil liberties again, rather than the harsh post 9/11 federally controlled time period in American ... • 46. Hamlet, By William Shakespeare During the course of Shakespeare s Hamlet , the character of young Hamlet exemplifies an often puzzling and ambivalent persona. During the play, Hamlet is often contradicting of himself. By role playing, or self fashioning, Hamlet is able to balance his virtues in order to stay true to himself. This is demonstrated by his decisions to act upon something, as well as his inactions to not act upon something. The obscurity of Hamlet s mannerisms are displayed within two conflicting personas: one that is perceived as calm and rational; the other displaying utter madness and loss of control. These conflicting behaviors are revealed within Hamlet s internal struggles to kill those responsible for his father s murder, or to act responsibly and virtuous, and await further proof of their guilt. Throughout the play, Hamlet teeters on the brink of insanity induced by his actions, or inactions, but never actually crosses the threshold of insanity by balancing the virtues of playing a role and self fashioning, with looking at his own sense of self to rationalize his actions throughout the play. Clarification of Hamlet s sanity first appears in act one, by his statements and feelings expressed within his dialogue. Seems madam? Nay, it is. I know not seems (1.2.76). When young Hamlet is asked about his depressive appearance and demeanor by Gertrude, Hamlet denotes that this is what is perceived. This relates the idea that Hamlet is only what he appears to be as seen by the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Grutter V. Bollinger My area of interest is behavior analysis but for the purpose of this discussion I chose this case. Is it illegal for graduate schools to refuse admittance to their program in preference of a different race that meet the same qualifications? Our state and federal legislatures, executive bodies, and our courts have been involved in many aspects of testing assessment. Courts have been grappling with the role of diversity in criteria for admission to colleges, universities, and professional schools (Cohen, 2013). In the case of Grutter v. Bollinger (2002) was a highly divided decision, the U.S. Supreme Court approved the use of race in admission decisions on a time limited basis to further the educational benefits that flow from a diverse ... Petitioner alleged that respondents discriminated against her on the basis of race in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. Petitioner further alleged that her application was rejected because the Law School uses race as a predominant factor, giving applicants who belong to certain minority groups a significantly greater chance of admission than students with similar credentials from disfavored racial groups. Petitioner further alleged that her application was rejected because the Law School uses race as a predominant factor, giving applicants who belong to certain minority groups a significantly greater chance of admission than students with similar credentials from disfavored racial groups. The outcome of this ruling was the court ruled in favor that someone can be denied admission in preference of a different race that meet the same qualifications. The University of Michigan Law School was conducting highly individualized reviews of each applicant, and the courts determined that race was only one of the many factors they had considered for eligibility of their applicants (Grutter, ...
