This document proposes a real-time monitoring and alert system for human health using biosensors, GSM, and GPS. The system would detect abnormal changes in vital signs from biosensors implanted in the body. If an issue is detected, the system would use GSM to send alert messages with the person's location from the GPS module to nearby hospitals. This could help detect emergencies when someone is alone and facilitate faster response times. It describes the key components, including biosensors to detect issues, a microcontroller to analyze the data and trigger alerts, GSM and GPS modules for communication and location, and an RF transmitter for wireless sensor data transfer. The system is intended to help people who may experience sudden cardiac or respiratory emer

Abstract Monitoring one’s heart rate and body temperature continuously from a remote area is impossible for a medical expert by using typical monitoring devices. To overcome this problem we can implement a GSM based system using microcontroller and LM35 sensor which is low-cost and use-friendly. Here, a heart beat sensor is used to detect the heart rate and an LM35 sensor to sense the body temperature. These signals are processed by a PIC microcontroller. Then, an SMS alert will be sent to the medical expert by using a GSM module. Thus, doctors can monitor the health condition of a patient continuously from a remote place and can suggest the patient about taking an immediate remedy. As a result, we can save many lives by providing them a quick service using this system. Objectives: Sensor networks constitute the backbone for the construction of personalized monitoring systems. Up to now, several sensor networks have been proposed for diverse pervasive healthcare applications, which are however characterized by a significant lack of open architectures, resulting in closed, non-interoperable, and difficult to extend solutions. In this context, we propose an open and reconfigurable Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for pervasive health monitoring, with particular emphasis in its easy extension with additional sensors and functionality by incorporating embedded intelligence mechanisms.
Methods: We consider a generic WSN architecture comprised of diverse sensor nodes (with communication and processing capabilities) and a Mobile Base Unit (MBU) operating as the gateway between the sensors and the medical personnel, formulating this way a Body Area Network (BAN). The primary focus of this work is on the intra-BAN data communication issues, adopting SensorML as the data representation mean, including the encoding of the monitoring patterns and the functionality of the sensor network.
Results: In our prototype implementation two sensor nodes are emulated; one for heart rate monitoring and the other for blood glucose observations, while the MBU corresponds to a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) device. Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) is used to implement both the sensor nodes and the MBU components. Intra-BAN wireless communication relies on the Bluetooth protocol. Via an adaptive user interface in the MBU, Health Professionals may specify the monitoring parameters of the WSN and define the monitoring patterns of interest in terms of rules.
Conclusions: This work constitutes an essential step towards the construction of open, extensible, interoperable and intelligent WSNs for pervasive health monitoring.
The development of wireless patient monitoring system has been quite intensive in the past decade. Hence, in the present study, a new approach of wireless patient monitoring system was proposed as a prototype to minimize the power consumption and the costing issue. Visual Basic Net. 2010 as the software and Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) 16F877 microcontroller as the hardware circuit were used to implement the system. The communication between the hardware and software systems is in the full duplex communication via the XBee modules happened. The results show that XBee module is successfully communicated with the whole system and the monitoring software is in the best condition to be implemented. Since the prototype using variable voltage, good comparison with the experimental and previous studies shows that the present study can be improved by using the real ECG machine so that the system can be ready to the real user.

Abstract The project concentrates a selective section of patient monitoring: neonatal care. Several patient monitors are available in the market. Yet it is quite a daunting task in countries with high population like India, because of insufficient resource space availability. It is difficult to keep a track of several patients at a time from both inside and outside hospital premises/medical facility, which includes remote locations. The project involves with sensing the vitals of the newly born babies which are very different when compared to adult patients and transmit these signals to the computer monitor at the nursing station. Also based on the preset threshold values for the recorded values, an alarm system will be introduced with an immediate transfer of the corresponding patient data to the registered medical professional. This paper attempts to design and implement patient monitoring and real time feedback mechanism, equipped with wireless transmission via GSM and Zigbee. Using Zigbee for in-house monitoring and GSM for external correspondence is proposed. In the last decade the healthcare monitoring systems have drawn considerable attentions of the researchers. The prime goal was to develop a reliable patient monitoring system so that the healthcare professionals can monitor their patients, who are either hospitalized or executing their normal daily life activities. In this work we present a mobile device based wireless healthcare monitoring system that can provide real time online information about physiological conditions of a patient. Our proposed system is designed to measure and monitor important physiological data of a patient in order to accurately describe the status of her/his health and fitness. In addition the proposed system is able to send alarming message about the patient’s critical health data by text messages or by email reports. By using the information contained in the text or e-mail message the healthcare professional can provide necessary medical
advising. The system mainly consists of sensors, the data acquisition unit, microcontroller (i.e., Arduino), and software (i.e., LabVIEW). The patient’s temperature, heart beat rate, muscles, blood pressure, blood glucose level, and ECG data are monitored, displayed, and stored by our system. To ensure reliability and accuracy the proposed system has been field tested. The test results show that our system is able to measure the patient’s physiological data with a very high accuracy.

Wireless-sensor-network-based home monitoring system for elderly activity behaviour involves functional assessment of daily activities. In this paper, we report a mechanism for estimation of elderly well-being condition based on usage of house-hold appliances connected through various sensing units. We define a two new wellness functions to determine the status of the elderly on performing essential daily activities. The modernized system for monitoring and evaluating the essential daily activities was tested at homes for four different elderly persons living alone and the results are encouraging in determining wellness of the elderly.
With rapid development of economies, growth of aging population and the prevalence of chronic diseases across the world, there is an urgent need to find new ways to improve patient outcomes, increase access to care, and reduce the cost of medical care. A health care monitoring system is necessary to constantly monitor patient’s physiological parameters. The tele-medical system focuses on the measurement and evaluation of vital parameters e.g. temperature, electrocardiogram (ECG), heart rate variability, fall detection etc. This will enable doctors and care givers to observe patients without having to be physically present at their bedside, be it in the hospital or in their home.
The propose system gives us the development of a Raspberry Pi based system for Wireless heartbeat, temperature monitoring, eye monitoring for coma patient, saline level Detector. That will easily provide real time information available for many users and can send them alert in critical conditions over Internet. In India many patients are dying because of heart attacks and reason behind this factor is that they are not getting proper help during the period. To give them timely and proper help first want to continuous monitoring of patient health. The fixed monitoring system can be used only when the patient is lying on bed and these systems are huge and only available in the hospitals in ICU. The system is developed for home use by patients that are not in a critical condition but need to be timely monitored by doctor or family. In any critical condition the Mail is send to the doctor or any family member. So that it easily save many lives by providing them quick service. Nakul S. Palkhede | Sachin D. Mali | Prof. Manisha S. Recently, in many cases, the reason for a patient staying in the hospital is not that he or she actually needs active medical care. Often, the principal reason for a lengthy stay in the hospital is simply continual observation. Therefore, efforts have been made to avoid acute admissions and long lengths of stay in the hospital. In recent years, emergency admissions and long lengths of stay have become extremely costly. So the focus of health policy has shifted away from the provision of reactive, acute care toward preventive care outside the hospital. As models of care are redesigned, health economies are seeking to provide more care outside large acute centers. The drivers for this shift are two-fold; first, there is a quality-of-care issue and second, there is a resource allocation issue. Being cared for in a patient’s own home is a key aim of current U.K. government health policy and that is driven by an imperative to provide better quality care to people without the need to disrupt their lives. Investment in technologies that enable remote monitoring would lead to long-term gains in terms of hospital finances and patient care.
During treatment, it is highly important to continuously monitor the vital physiological signs of the patient. Therefore , patient monitoring systems has always been occupying a very important position in the field of medical devices.
The continuous improvement of technologies not only helps us transmit the vital physiological signs to the medical personnel but also simplifies the measurement and as a result raises the monitoring efficiency of patients.
An integrated portable device for continuous heart rate and body temperature monitoring system development is presented in this paper (Proc. of 2nd EICT, 2015). Heart related diseases are increasing day by day; therefore, an accurate, affordable and portable heart rate and body temperature measuring device is essential for taking action in proper time. Such a device is more essential in a situation where there is no doctor or clinic nearby (e.g., rural area) and patients are unable not recognize their actual condition. The developed system of this study consists of Arduino UNO microcontroller system, transmission system and Android based application. The system gives information of heart rate and body temperature simultaneously acquired on the portable device in real time and shows it through the connected Android application instantly. The developed system is more affordable with low price compared to other developed devices due to use of easy available Arduino UNO and smart phone as Android device. The developed device is shown acceptable outcomes when compared with other measuring devices.

A Wireless Methodology of Heart Attack Detectionijsrd.com
The wrist watch with Heart Attack Detection is equipment that is used daily to indicate heart condition, to detect heart attack and to call for emergency help. It was designed specially to help patients with heart disease. This includes three common sub units. They are Circuit, Analysis Algorithm, and Bluetooth Communication. The first one is to wear on the wrist of the patient to captures the abnormal heart beat waves from the victim and the alternate methods are installed under the stick. This project is based on the previous project “Wireless Heart Attack Detector with GPS†of Fall 2004 [1]. we consider a big improvement in reducing the complexity of the project greatly, in saving power consumption of the project to run much fewer codes and in making the project to run at a faster time. No wire is attached to the wrists. In our project, the ECG waveform is transmitted wirelessly from the wrists to the watch. This gives the user great flexibility while the program is switched on and running. User can drive safely, can use restroom easily and can function normally like without the project. Previous project had the wire connection. All the hardware on the walking watch would have been strapped to the wrists. This will not make the project functional and marketable. Our project is completely portable. Heart condition is displayed in our project. The previous project did not inform the user about his heart condition. We display the heart condition through two LEDs as low-risk (alert level between 4 and 6) and high risk (alert level between 7 and 9). The user can know their heart condition and take proper action to avoid the fatal moment. Proper action could be slowing down and taking a rest.

Real Time Physiological Status Monitorinig through Telemetry System for on Sp...ijtsrd
In todays era, Internet of Things is playing an important role in health care management systems, which is not only for monitoring but also to communicate, stores and display. The prime aim of this study is to design and implement effective real time healthcare monitoring dashboard for on spot accident patients who is injured and went to unconscious state. The proposed system monitor the ECG, EEG, EMG waveforms, Temperature, heart beats etc, and transmit those vital parameters wirelessly through wifi technology. The transmitted patients data is displayed in the PC based application called the central nurse station where PC with the receive wifi acts as hub. This data gets updated into database continuously. From the database of the android application fetches all the updated data, stores and displays it. This enables the doctor to receive the current status of an accident patient in real time. The parameters of a particular patient go beyond a threshold value an automated notification will pop up in doctor android mobile application. This android application can also generate call option if the doctor will not notifynotification messages. Additionally system is also able to generate alarm to notify nurse around for emergency treatment and by using GSM module the patient datas can also be send to the authorized person i.e friends, relatives etc. Ultimate goal of this project is to implement a low cost, high efficient and effective wireless real time system for health monitoring through telemetry system. A Low Power Wearable Physiological Parameter Monitoring Systemijsrd.com
The design and development of a low power wearable physiological parameter monitoring system have been developing and reporting in this paper. The system can be used to monitor physiological parameters, such as ECG signals, temperature and heartbeat. The system consists of an electronic device which is worn on the wrist and finger, by an at-risk person. Using several sensors to measure different vital signs, the person is wirelessly monitored within his own home. An epic sensor has been used to detect ECG signals. The device is battery powered for use outdoors. The device can be easily adapted to monitor athletes and infants. The low cost of the device will help to lower the cost of home monitoring of patients recovering from illness. A prototype of the device has been fabricated and extensively tested with very good results.

The epidemic growth of wireless technology and mobile services in this epoch is creating a great impact on our life style. Some early efforts have been taken to utilize these technologies in medical industry. In this field, ECG sensor based advanced wireless patient monitoring system concept is a new innovative idea. This system aims to provide health care to the patient. We have sensed the patient’s ECG through 3 lead electrode system via AD8232 which amplifies minor and small bio-signals to the arduino which processes them, along with saline level. Saline level is detected through IR sensors. The output of the electrical pulse is shown with the serial monitor. The saline level is indicated by LCD. The major output ECG analog signal is displayed on serial plotter. The outputs are displayed through mobile application.

Wireless Sensor Network for Radiation Detectionijeei-iaes
n this paper a wireless sensor network (WSN) is designed from a group of radiation detector stations with different types of sensors. These stations are located in different areas and each sensor transmits its data through GSM network to the main monitoring and control station. The design includes GPS module to determine the location of mobile and fixed station. The data is transmitted with GSM/GPRS modem. Instead of using traditional SMS data string or word messages a digital data frame is constructed and transmitted as SMS data. In the main monitoring station graphical user interface (GUI) software is designed to shows information and statues of the all stations in the network. It reports any radiation leaks, in addition to the data; the GUI contains a geographical map to display the location of the leakage station and can control the stations power consumption by sending a special command to it.

Abstract: The phenomenon of gender-based violence has generated attention from research practitioners and helping professionals since
the surge of the women’s movement three or so decades ago in the Philippines. At about the same time, the HIV-AIDS gained similar
attention with the disclosure of the first ever case of the country in the mid-80s. Only recently, however, has the intersectionality of these
two phenomena been looked into by the research community in other countries and has yet to see parallel response locally. This research,
therefore, attempts to map out the lived experiences of People Living with Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (PLHIV) who have undergone
gender-based violence (GBV). It specially looks into the consequent psychosocial and mental health issues. Using focus group discussion with
24 purposively sampled participants from the highly vulnerable groups based in three major Philippine cities, thematic analysis reveals that
the participants experienced various forms of gender-based violence, e.g., sexual, emotional/psychological, economic, verbal, physical) and
expressions of stigma and discrimination, which in turn, led to manifestations of different emotional and psychological trauma, depression,
internalized homophobia, greater health risks and risk-taking behaviours, among others. It might be worthwhile to consider the possibility
that the consequent risk-taking and self-injurious tendencies played a role in their eventual contraction of HIV.

Abstract: Drought is a phenomenon of extreme water shortage that has significant economic, social, environmental and human life
impact. Streamflow drought characteristics and properties are useful in the design of hydro-technical projects, water resources planning and
management purposes. Information on low flow magnitude, frequency, probability and return period are very crucial in analysing
streamflow drought at the operational level in public water supply. The objectives of this study are to determine the characteristics of low
flow for every streamflow station in the Selangor region. The estimation of minimum storage draft-rate with the probability of low flow
return periods of 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 years is presented in this paper.
Awwal-Awwal Tampat Budjang Journey Back to
Pre-Islamic Epoch: A Cultural Semiotic
Helen G Juaini1
Abstract: Cultural background plays a significant role in the sphere of semiotics. Semiotics as a discipline is recognized as a useful tool in
gauging cultural background and identifying signs that might represent the message of a certain work. Given the rich cultural context of
Tawi-Tawi oral literature this can be used in studying semiotics. Semiotic tools were employed to interpret the awwal-awwal as provided by
the respondents and to formulate a subsequent understanding of this oral literature in relation to the Sama’s claim of sacredness of Tampat
Budjang.
Politeness and Intimacy in Application Letters of
Three Cultural Groups in Mindanao
Helen G Juaini1
Abstract: 150 application letters from the three cultural groups in Mindano, namely Sinama, Subanen, and Tausug have been analysed
in a mixed-method design. The focus of the study is on the two features of politeness and intimacy. In the quantitative analysis, the model
proposed by Brown & Levinson (1987) and that of Columns (2005) which have drawn upon the features of indirectness in requesting and
the length of letters as the indicators of politeness are used. In the qualitative and descriptive analysis formality in salutation and opening
clause as well as the use of abbreviated forms are taken into account. The result shows that Tausug use the politest style in their application
letters, followed by Sinama and Subanen respectively. On the other hand, Sinama, Subanen, and Tausug use the least intimate style in their
business letters. The findings are hoped to help better inter-cultural understanding, especially with respect to written rhetorical
characteristics.

Abstract: Recently, IoT devices such as robots, speakers, domestic electrical appliances and smart devices are provided everywhere for
everyone. While their authentication request is quite ubiquitously, namely, an authentication for sharing services, the actual
implementations are patchy schemes of variety security policies. In this study, we propose the new authentication scheme for IoT devices
without certificate authority which is fast enough as well as secure. The verification algorithm is based on suitable ciphered metric. We
define a class of such verifiable encryption and give an example for authentication. Moreover, we show the implementation which keeps
perfect secrecy by means of Shannon’s theory.
Developing a Strategic Organisational Learning
Framework to Improve Caribbean Disaster
Management Performance
Joanne Persad1
Abstract: Disasters are social constructs and require an agility and adaptability from national disaster organisations (NDOs). The
environment in which NDOs operate are complex adaptive systems environment, and organisational learning as a key approach is considered
fundamental to strengthening the ability of an NDO to perform at its best. With the potential for loss of lives, the destruction of critical
infrastructure and housing and to the risk of setting back a country’s economic development by many years, learning from the lessons of the
past, to reduce the negative impacts is critical for the onward growth of Caribbean countries which, for the most part, are small island
developing states. The Caribbean Region is the one of the most hazard prone regions in the world (Walbrent College 2012). Lessons from
disaster impacts are identified, gaps are well documented, and failures are sometimes exposed. But learning, in terms of making changes to
improve systems, performance and resilience, is questionable. The lessons must be applied for change to occur, this is part of the knowledge
management process in the context of disaster organisations. The purpose of this study is to explore the apparent inability of national
disaster organizations in the Caribbean to apply the lessons learnt from previous disasters. Three (3) Caribbean countries have been selected
for this research. It is a multiple case study where the unit of analysis is the national disaster organisation. This study is based on an
interpretive paradigm.
Combating Climate Change and Land Degradation in
The West African Sahel: A Multi-Country Study of
Mali, Niger and Senegal
S A Igbatayo1
1Head, Department of Economics & Management Studies, AFE Babalola University, Nigeria
Abstract: The West African Sahel is a vast ecological zone separating the Sahara Desert to the north and Sudanian savannah to the
south; traversing Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, northern Nigeria and Chad. With a population estimated at more than 60 million
people, the region features a multiplicity of development challenges. It is home to some of the world’s most impoverished people, whose
livelihoods are mostly reliant on rain-fed agriculture. Characterized by semi-arid vegetation, the West African Sahel is one of the most
environmentally degraded ecosystems in the world. The region faces severe and recurring bouts of droughts since the 1980s, jeopardizing
environmental sustainability. During the past four decades, the West African Sahel has witnessed below-average annual precipitation, with
two severe drought periods in 1972-1973 and 1983–1984, in a development that undermined agricultural productivity and spawned
severe land degradation. Various studies have predicted even more severe climate variability and change in the region, with drier and more
frequent dry periods expected. The intergovernmental Panel on climate change (IPCC, 2007) revealed a decline in annual rainfall in West
Africa since the end of the 1960s, with a reduction of 20% to 40% observed in the periods 1931-1960 and 1968–1990. Repeated
droughts, fuelled by climate change, have undermined land productivity, turning arable soils into marginal lands, and rendering land
resources vulnerable to such anthropogenic activities as over-grazing, agricultural intensification and deforestation, which are common
practices across the region. The major objective of this paper is to shed light on climate change and land degradation patterns in the West
African Sahel. It employs empirical data to analyse the trends, with particular emphasis on Mali, Niger and Senegal. The study reveals
considerable threats posed by the twin scourges of climate change and land degradation to food security, environmental sustainability and
regional stability.

Abstract: The online clothing businesses have seen a considerable rise in recent times, with a high and growing demand. The purpose of
this study is to determine the factors that play significant roles in creating purchase intention towards the online clothing products in
Bangladesh. Secondary research was used to build the model of customer purchase intention. A structured questionnaire was employed to
gather data and test the model. Factor analysis and regression were used to test the model. The regression model suggested that customer
purchase intention was induced most by the online marketing activities of the online retailers, followed by pricing strategy implemented and
sense of security provided (in that order). To understand customer purchase intentions better, it may be important to look at additional
factors or seek better measures of the constructs. The study suggests that online retailers should heavily focus on online promotions and
pricing.

Abstract: Unlike other industries, the construction industry is characterized by its heavy dependence on labour force with most work done
by workers. Still, the industry is witnessing the declining influx of young workers and the rising turnover rates of skilled workers due to such
issues as the advancement of 3D industry, negative image and absence of an established wage system. Hence, this paper proposes an
alternative scheme that would help improve the wage system and work environment for skilled construction workers in Korea.
Mastering the Recycling of Masonry while building
Tadao Ando’s Private Gallery in Lincoln Park,
Chicago
Daniel Joseph Whittaker1
Abstract: The notion of a great presence of masonry rarely conjures up the likes of buildings by master architect, Tadao Ando san of
Osaka, Japan, who is better known for his sublime shaping of space with planar forms of site-cast concrete. Perhaps though, one may recall
the ‘historical intervention’ on a grand scale—the now nine-year-old Punta Della Dogan a project (2009) in Venice, Italy, as prima facie
evidence of his dialogue with a vast quantity of ancient masonry in the Laguna. However, a new project by Ando, recently opened in
Chicago, Illinois (October 2018), presents the private-museum-gallery-going public with a new North American delight. Here, the senses
are able to indulge in a hybrid set of experiences shaped by masonry, concrete, and white painted plaster surfaces. This paper explores how
the modern concrete master has expanded his dynamic architectural vocabulary utilizing what is known as Chicago common brick: a soft,
Lake Michigan-sand and clay based fired brick, and incorporated it into his most recent private commission located in Lincoln Park,
Chicago.
RRI Buffer Based Energy and Computation Efficient
Cache Replacement Algorithm
Muhammad Shahid1
1Computer Science Department, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad
Abstract: Energy consumption is an important factor of com-mutational power these days. Large scale energy consumption results in bad
system performance and high cost. To access frequently used data, we place it in Cache. Cache provides us opportunity to access that data in
a small time. Cache memory helps in retrieving data in minimum time improving the system performance and reducing power consumption.
Due to limited size of Cache, replacement algorithms used to make space for new data. There are many existing cache replacement
algorithms for example LRU, LFU, MRU, FIFO etc. Existing algorithms consume a lot of energy while replacing cold blocks of data.
Replacement algorithms are usually designed to reduce miss rate and increase hit rate. These algorithms replace cold blocks (not going to use
in future) and due to large number of cold blocks, they consume lot of energy. This paper proposes an energy and computation efficient cache
replacement algorithm that put only hot blocks in action instead of removing cold blocks. This paper also discusses different replacement
algorithms proposed in different papers and compare these algorithms on basis of different parameters mainly energy consumption. In our
experiments we have found LRU and FIFO as best replacement algorithms for Increased hit rates and Energy efficiency respectively.

Wireless sensor networks can provide low cost solution accompanied with limited storage, computational capability and power for verity of real-world problems and become essential factor when sensor nodes are arbitrarily deployed in a hostile environment. The cluster head selection technique is also one of the good approaches to reduce energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. The lifetime of wireless sensor networks is extended by using the uniform cluster head selection and balancing the network loading among the clusters. We have reviewed various energy efficient schemes apply in WSNs of which we concentrated on selection of cluster head approach and proposed an new method called Sleep Scheduling Routing with in clusters for Energy Efficient [SSREE]in which some nodes in clusters are usually put to sleep to conserve energy, and this helps to prolong the network lifetime. EASSR selects a node as a cluster head if its residual energy is more than system average energy and have less energy consumption rate in previous round. Then, an Performance analysis and compared statistic results of SSREE shows of the significant improvement over existing protocol LEACH, SEP and M-GEAR protocol in terms of lifetime of network and data units gathered at BS.
Due to rapid urbanization the manufacturing processes of conventional building materials pollutes air, water and land. Hence in order to fulfil the increasing demand it is required to adopt a cost effective, eco-friendly technologies by improving the traditional techniques with the usage of available local materials. Agro – industrial and other solid waste disposal is another serious issue of concern in most of developing countries. The present paper explores the potential application of agro-waste as an ingredient for alternate sustainable construction materials.
There has been an ever-increasing interest in big data due to its rapid growth and since it covers diverse areas of applications. Hence, there seems to be a need for an analytical review of recent developments in the big data technology. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive review of the big data state of the art, conceptual explorations, major benefits, and research challenging aspects. In addition to that, several future directions for big data research are highlighted.
A correct node operation and power administration are significant issues in the wireless sensor network system. Ultrasonic, dead reckoning, and radio frequency information is obtained by using localization mechanism and worked through a specific filter algorithm. In this paper, a well-organized grid deployment method is applied to split the nodes into multiple individual grids. The tiny grids are used for improved resolution and bigger grids are used to decrease the complexity of processing. The efficiency of each grid is obtained by environmental factors such as redeployed nodes, boundaries, and obstacles. To decrease the power usage, asynchronous power management method is designed. In network communication, power management method is applied by using an asynchronous awakening scheme and n-duplicate coverage algorithm is engineered for the coverage of nodes.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Technology development can be considered as day to day
inflation
Even though there are advancements in technology, the major
role played by technology is in the field of medicine
Today’s world is prone to various types of diseases which can be
cured with the available equipment in an accurate manner. Deadly
diseases like cancer too has a solution like it can be treated by
radiation method.
When the person is diagnosed with any disease the victim gets
admitted in a hospital and treated.
But nowadays, people suffer from sudden heart attack and other
dreadful diseases. The most painful thing is that they are prone to
these when they are alone. This proposed system may give a
solution to this problem

THE SYSTEM
BIO-SENSOR
GSM- MODULE
GPS MODULE
MICROCONTROLLER
RF TRANSMITTER AND RECIEVER
4. BIO-SENSORS
Bio-Sensors are analytical devices which converts a biological
response to an electrical signal.
Here the biological response is nothing but any abnormal
change in the heart beat rate of human body
Researchers say that a person before getting a severe cardiac
attack, the flow rate of blood decreases cardiac tissue deadens, cells
release natural chemicals, such as troponins.
Implanted biosensors may be used effectively to sense the release of
troponin
It is also evident that measuring the flow of blood rate is enough to
indicate the cardiac attack. But by using implanted biosensor better
results are obtained

6. GSM MODULE
The GSM Module used here is the familiar SimCom SIM900
module. Since most of the devices for communication use this
module. This will be more compatible for our system
7. GPS MODULE
It is a satellite based tracking device
It tracks the latitude and longitude to find the body
The reason for using this device is that it can be helpful for
zeroing the location of the victim and to send the information
about the location along with data to a hospital or Health Centre
The GPS module is also interfaced with the microcontroller.
For reliability we choose GPS Module-Parallax PMB-648
8. MICROCONTROLLER
The whole system of this project is controlled by the
microcontroller
The microcontroller is the heart of the system.
The GSM module is activated only when the microcontroller gets
the electrical output from the bio-sensor.
The Micro-Controller performs the operation of selecting the near-
by hospital from the information provided by the GPS module
Here the compatible microcontroller system for our project is
Arduino Mega 2560
9. RF TRANSMITTER AND RECIEVER
It doesn’t looks pleasing if there is a wired connection from the
biosensor to the module.
Hence to avoid that an RF transceiver which works on RF
frequency 2.4GHz is used. To satisfy this requirement RF
transceiver CC2500 is used here
10. IMPLEMENATATION OF THE
SYSTEM The Bio-Sensor senses for any antibody enzymes, proteins and microorganisms.
When a person suffers from sudden cardiac attack or any other respiratory problem,
the bio-sensor senses the abnormal change. This produces an electrical output from
the bio-sensor.
The generated electrical signal is given to the microcontroller. The microcontroller is
fed with a program such that various attacks such as cardiac attack or respiratory
problems are assigned with a value and a message is generated within it according
to the electrical signal
The generated message is transmitted wirelessly through a GSM module. The GSM
module sends the information to a nearby hospital or health Centre from the data
from the GPS.
To know the exact location of the victim, the GPS module provides the exact location
and also the distance of the available hospitals or health cares from the victim’s
location .That message is also sent to the microcontroller.
The microcontroller decides the shortest path and in the program fed to it a timer is
set and if the force doesn’t arrive, it sends the message to the next shortest path. The
microcontroller sends the command to the GSM module to send the message.
14. FUTURE WORKS
This system can be extended by using Near Field Communication
(NFC) technology which is more compatible for smart phones.
Hence, a separate module is not required for this entire process to
happen.
15. CONCLUSION
Sudden cardiac attacks are unpredictable!!
Even though after these kinds of attacks there are chances of
surviving if immediate primary treatment is given.
The cost of this proposed system is not much more than a life
costs. The patient without any hesitation can carry along with him
this module because; it serves as a guardian when they are alone
