Piet Mondrian s Composition With Red, Blue, Yellow, And Gray
The second artwork that caught my attention was Piet Mondrian s piece titled, Composition with Red,
Blue, Black, Yellow, and Gray, 1921, a Cubist inspired painting, expressing balance and tension of
form and color. At this time, Mondrian created many similar paintings, same form, same abstract and
same palette, consisting the colors white, black, gray, and three primary colors, with the composition
constructed from thick, black horizontal and vertical lines that delineated the outlines of the various
rectangles of color. Reflecting a lot upon Mondrian s piece titled, Composition with Large Red Plane,
Yellow, Black, Gray, and Blue 1921, sharing the same rectangular and cubist shapes, color, and

Effect of Temperature on Permeability of Cell Membrane
To investigate the effect of variation in temperature on the permeability of cell membranes using fresh
beetroot
Aims
In this investigation, you will subject fresh, washed beetroot discs to different temperatures to
investigate the effect of temperature on the permeability of the plasma membrane.
Overview
The beetroot discs will be placed in distilled water at different temperatures. You will compare the
intensity of the beetroot pigment that has leaked out from the cells subjectively and possibly
objectively using a colorimeter. You can relate the findings to the effect of different temperatures on
the permeability of cell membranes in beetroot (as well as in other organisms).
Features of experimental design

Assemble the bench mat, tripod, gauze, water bath and Bunsen burner. Do not light the Bunsen burner
yet.
6. Add 5.0 cm3 of distilled water from a beaker to each of the seven test tubes E25 to E75 and C25.
Put all seven test tubes into the water bath.
7. Check the temperature of the water in the water bath. Use the Bunsen burner to gently warm its
towards 25 °C. Stop heating just below that temperature at about 23 °C since more heat will be
conducted from the hot glass of the beaker. Measure the temperature in the water in the test tube
labelled E25. When it is the same as that of the water bath, record it in the table.
8. Add three beetroot discs to E25. Start the stop clock. After sixty seconds, use a test tube holder to
remove the test tube. Put the bung into it. Shake it ten times over 30 cm. Pour the liquid into the
receiving test tube (RT)and the discs into the waste beaker. Then pour the liquid back into E25 and put
it into the test tube rack for later examination.
9. Carry out the same procedure with the control tube C25.
10. Carry out the same procedure for the other temperatures. Use the Bunsen burner to raise the
temperature towards 35(C and carry out the same procedure with 3 more discs, as at 25(C. In the same
way, subject the beetroot discs in the various experimental tubes to sixty seconds at each of 45(C,

Affect Violence on Television has on Children Essay
Affect Violence on Television has on Children Don t Young Children Sponge It from Television? If a
stranger gives a candy and junk food to a child, the kid enjoys eating such foods even though they
produce the harmful effects of rotting away at his teeth. With a parent to limit child s intake of such
harmful sweets, however, the child is protected from their damage.
Similarly, the American public enjoys viewing violent and abusive programs at the risk of adapting
aggressive and unacceptable behaviors. Because the networks refuse to act as a mother and to limit the
amount of violence shown on television, there are no restrictions to prevent television s violent candy
from rotting away at the teeth of society. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children (and even some adults), however, do not always realize this is not the way difficult situations
are handled in real life. Such youngsters come to expect the violence in everyday life; they create it to
be satisfied. Besides the fact that violence on television is able to be much more exciting and
enthralling than it is viewed in reality, the children find the violent and the hostile behaviors of the
characters in movies fun to imitate. They do imitate the models because the ideas shown on television
are more attractive to the viewers. This factor has been widely seen with the advent of the Mighty
Morphin Power Rangers and Star Wars. Young children cannot seem to get enough of this fictional
characters and portray them often. Or here is another example, after watching the movie Natural Born
Killers, students in Columbine High School killed numbers of their classmates and teachers thinking
that shooting was natural act to perform. Many other movies and shows as well as advertising on
television do perform the examples of violence and physical abuse: slapping, hitting, biting, spitting,
burning, and many other forms of physical aggressions that effect a young child s mind disrupting the
learning abilities and upsetting the moral balance. The information cannot be ignored. Violent
television viewing does effect young people.

Stability In America
America; strong, safe and stable. The United States of America is experiencing a period of stability.
Based on the past empires, Rome, Athens, and Macedonia´s qualities during their rise and stability, it
is supported that America is also on a rise. In each empire, during the rise, the government, military,
infrastructures and natural resources were all controlled and managed properly. Many people in
America believe that America is on a fall because of the government leaders, spread out military,
breaking infrastures and war with places that hold natural resources, however the people making this
argument are simply only being pessimistic and looking for ways to degrade America, mainly based
on opinion rather than fact. Right now, America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The great leader, Augustus, developed Rome into a Republic system of government. A republic system
of government is where there is someone who leads but the citizens have a right to vote for what they
believe. America, like Rome is run under democracy. With a nation that everyone is equal and has a
right to vote, power is not over given and the leader can not make choices without the majority of the
citizens agreeing. Another aspect of Rome that made it stable was it´s military. Unlike other empires,
Rome had advanced technology and tactics during their time. One example of their advance military
technology is the pilum, according to Naked Science, It´s [the pilum] designed to pierce people, to
pierce armour, pierce their shields. Rome was able to conquer vast amounts of land. America´s
military, just like Rome s military is one of the most advanced of its time. In America the government
supplies infrastructures for the military to test out the advanced war items that they re using. One of
the most known areas that the government develops war tactics and technology is Area 51. Because of
many places to test military tactics, America is able to defeat countries where there is no freedom. In
Mesopotamia, Alexander the great conquered land and gained gold, silver, iron, copper, fish, minerals
and other natural resources (slideshare). Alexander was able to develop a stabe economy and job
stability with the natural resources. In America, there are natural resources like ¨water, wind and the
sun... plants and animals... crude oil, coal, and natural gas as well as minerals¨ (TheBalance.) America

Impact Of International Trade On The United States
In this age of globalization, Economic integration and regional cooperation have become a reality.
International trade has enabled countries to exchange goods, services and capital across the border,
enabling better opportunities for both producers and consumers. However, in recent years, the benefits
of International trade have been questioned by many economists and business experts. There are no
doubts that International trade has been a blessing for many countries around the world, but the
question that remains unanswered is, how does International trade benefit the United States
economically. With fall, declining economic growth, and increase in unemployment, as claimed by
conservatives, trade deals such as NAFTA and TPP have been under the spotlight for quite sometimes.
Despite all criticisms, recent International trade data show a different reality. It shows how the benefits
of International trade outweighed the cost of the economy of the United States.
International trade between countries have existed since the beginning of human existence, and it has
been significant in the economic prosperity of many countries. The discovery of the United States, and
North America can be traced back to International Trade. Prime example of how International trade
benefits the United States is embedded in its giant economy, and superpower status. The economic
achievements of the country were only made possible due to the high volume of trade that the U.S
conduct outside its

Teenagers come across several challenges every minute of their lives. They tend to feel alone during
adolescent years, and they ll try to find a hobby as a way to express themselves and their feelings
during this time. Many of them turn to poetry. Poetry is a way for teens to express a variety of
emotions in ways that can comfort them. A great amount of teen poetry surrounds the topics that circle
their lives. For example, divorce, sexuality confusions, and parental problems. Poetry explores many
challenges which teenagers face on a regular basis.
In 2008, the number of divorces in Canada increased to 70,226. Many families have to learn to cope
with divorce, and many find it hard to deal with. In the poem Beyond Pastel by Katherine Lawrence ...

It is repeated in the poem that he is a perfect little robot but it is also hinted that he isn t like others,
meaning that he s homosexual. The poem uses repetition to explain to readers how society likes to
construct people based on their thoughts of what perfect is. The repeating lines, I m a perfect little
robot and I perform all my duties is used in a sense of sarcasm. This creates the feeling that the teen is
angry, he s using sarcasm as a way to be semi serious but also get the point across that its useless for
everybody to be exactly the same. This poem also uses examples of metaphors to extend the readers
understanding of the poem. I was a robot is an example of a metaphor in the poem. This explains that
he was a robot, he performed all his duties, he done everything correctly and he contributed to making
society better. Instead of saying he is a robot, he stated that he was. The now knows that he doesn t
have to be the perfect little robot that everyone wants him to be. He can be different and its okay. This

Geothermal Energy from the Earth
Geothermal energy
Energy from the Earth What could be more natural or plentiful? The source of geothermal power is the
heat contained inside the Earth; heat so intense that it creates molten magma. There are a few different
types of geothermal energy that can be tapped. Some geothermal systems are formed when hot magma
near the surface (1,500 to 10,000 meters deep) directly heats groundwater. The heat generated from
these hot spots flows outward toward the surface, manifesting as volcanoes, geysers, and hot springs .
Naturally occurring hot water and steam can be tapped by energy conversion technology to generate
electricity or to produce hot water for direct use. Other geothermal systems are formed even when no
magma is nearby as magma heats rocks which in turn heat deeply circulating groundwater. In order to
maximize the energy gleaned from these so called hot dry rocks, geothermal facilities will often
fracture the hot rocks and pump water into and from them in order to use the heated water to generate
electricity.
The concentration of geothermal energy at any given location must be quite high in order to make heat
extraction feasible, and not all geothermal sites are created equally. Regions that have well developed
geothermal systems are located in geologically active areas. These regions have continuous,
concentrated heat flow to the surface. The western United States has the best geothermal regions in the
country, while Iceland , New Zealand , the Philippines ,

Business- How Key Elements of Marketting Achieve Success
Our success is a direct result of knowing how to market a brand and having the right people
representing the brand (Norman, 2009). Marketing is a key element in the success of any business.
The elements of marketing incorporate: situational analysis, market objectives, the target market and
marketing strategies.
Most marketing plans begin with an executive summary, providing a brief summary of the current
issues affecting a business. It is crucial in identifying key features of a marketing plan. Following the
executive summary a business finds out its current position in the market using a situational analysis.
A situational analysis is an exceptional way to open the marketing plan as covers four components in a
market analysis, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mass markets consist of all consumers, taking into account all factors market. Segment markets target
one area of the market and need to focus greatly on price and promotion. Niche markets being the
smallest are very specific in what they sell and have a tight customer base. Imax theatres use market
segmentation to attack and promote their films to all of the market. For example in using geographical
locations they target Sydney siders as a major segment accounting for 60% of sales. This is then
broken further down into more specific areas such as schools and tourists. In doing this they have the
ability to target consumers more specifically. They may target schools by screening educational films
or by giving them a discount for an entire class.
The final component used to achieve success in the marketing business scenarios are strategies. These
are market strategies or methods that are used to achieve the previous component; market objectives.
The main strategies adopted by business are the marketing mix. This consists of the four P s, product,
prices, promotion and place. An ideal way to demonstrate how these are crucial in success is the
expansion on the Imax case study. Elaborating on the Imax target markets are the strategies it uses to
achieve its objectives. Its strategy in relation to the product side of things is a release 6 8 new film in
each market over a year period. It pricing strategies target the schools and

Essay On The Deaths Of Romeo And Juliet
Throughout time, there have been many tragedies caused by romance. William Shakespeare s Romeo
and Juliet is an example of a romantic tragedy, in which two feuding families cause the deaths of their
children, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The play contrasts hatred and revenge with love and a
secret marriage, ending with the young lovers tragically dying. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet can be
blamed upon Friar Lawrence, the parents of Romeo and Juliet, and Tybalt. To begin, Romeo and Juliet
s deaths should be blamed upon Friar Lawrence. In the play, Romeo asks Friar Lawrence to marry him
to Juliet. The friar tells Romeo to slow down and think about this decision, but he still agrees to marry
them. Shakespeare writes, I ll thy assistant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They may feel that Romeo and Juliet should have made better, more rational decisions because the
evidence shows that after they meet, they want to be married immediately, but keep it a secret from
everyone in Verona (Ⅱ.iii.57 64). However, the deaths of these teenagers should be blamed upon the
parents of Romeo and Juliet because they wouldn t have to make those decisions if the parents
ongoing feud was not existent. The text shows, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny/... And the
continuance of their parents rage,/ Which, but their children s end, naught could remove (Prologue.3
11). This explains the parents are the reason for all the bad decisions because their feud only ended
because their children died. In addition, after Romeo and Juliet are found dead, the parents and Prince
discuss the situation. According to the play, the Prince states, See what a scourge is laid upon your
hate,/ That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love (Ⅴ.iii.291 293). The quote indicates Prince
is telling the parents that if they had ended the feud or never had it no of this would have happened.
Therefore, the parents of Romeo and Juliet should be held accountable for the deaths of the two
teenagers because of their unnecessary

Fashion And Fashion Essay
Today, being politically correct is the norm. Whether its talking about hair or where we re from our
gender to party costumes to triggers in general the PC culture has found its way into every aspect of
our lives.
So when we toss high fashion into the PC arena, we shouldn t be opposed or even surprised to
acknowledge how it too, is influenced by the current political climate.
High fashion has been traditionally and notoriously dominated by white men in brands like Louis
Vuitton, Gucci, Dior,
Burberry...the list goes on. At the same time, the high fashion scene is always looking to showcase and
reinvent what is cool and what is scarce . These days, the new stylish and innovative has become the
unrefined, the different, the international, and the...street fashion.
As society grows tolerant and aware of its diversity and cultures, especially away from only the
cultural preferences of the white demographic, the initial tolerance becomes an interest, and the
interest surges to a desire to represent that same diversity inherent to someone else.
This hipster urge is not news, but in our political climate today, the desire to be other has manifested
itself into a trend of appearing as off white, or, not an average white person. In fashion, one the most
widespread trends is popularizing and incorporating streetwear into high fashion items.
Streetwear is most recognizably associated with hip hop and skate culture.

The European Convention Of Human Rights
The European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR) can be defined as an international agreement
initiated within the Council of Europe, which was established in 1949 in Strasbourg in France in order
to unify Europe after the Second World War (Harries et al., 2014; O Boyle, 2014). According to
Donald et al., (2012), United Kingdom was among the first countries to adopt and has played an
important role in ECHR creation at that time. In 1966, the petition and jurisdiction of UK s citizens
was voluntary and individuals was able to take a case and jurisdictions to the ECtHR in Strasbourg.
Latterly, in 1998 this process become compulsory for all countries that are members of the (ECHR).
Since that time, European countries has become covered under this agreement as a form of legal
system in the unify area. However, it could be argued that the UK has the least number of cases in the
ECtHR in Strasbourg. O Boyle (2014. P. 15) stated that The UK has a very low rate of defeat at
Strasbourg. Of the nearly 12,000 applications brought against the UK between 1999 and 2010, the
vast majority fell at the first hurdle . Further they stated that, Only three per cent (390 applications)
were declared admissible. An even smaller proportion of applications 1.8 per cent (215) eventually
resulted in a judgment finding a violation , which in terms means that the UK has lost only 1 out of 50
of the cases that took place in the UK. Thus, some one could argue and question the extant that this

Kinnell And Heaney
The poems Blackberry picking by Seamus Heaney, and Blackberry Eating by Galway Kinnell are both
excellent depictions of the essence of the blackberries. Something beautiful can be said of poems that
were written about blackberries. The descriptive words poets use, can make a simple fruit into
something truly amazing. These poems all compare blackberries, making them seem like more than
they are. These two poems are dedicated to different seasons of blackberry picking, describe the fruit
itself to be something different, and are written with different writing styles.
The first lines of both poems begin with a time. Blackberry picking takes place in late August. Heaney
described the weather needed for that time of year to find the perfect blackberries. He told the reader,
given heavy rain and sun for a full week, the blackberries would ripen. This is very similar to what
Kinnell is saying with the first lines of his poem, Blackberry Eating . His poem begins, in late
September among the fat, overripe, icy, black blackberries. The timing in both poems is extremely
similar in that the blackberries are just becoming ripe in late August, and over the next month, grow to
the perfect, overripe state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Street Art And Graffiti
Street art and graffiti has grown increasingly popular worldwide in the last few decades. This is
because street artists are given the opportunity to showcase their ideas and opinions freely, and do not
allow themselves to be limited by regulations of the law or public opinion. Street artists can express
the unpopular opinion without worry that they will be punished for it, as these artists often work
anonymously. According to Michael DeNotto from St. Mary s University of Minnesota, street art
allows the artist to reject established standards, encourage experimentation, and draw from popular
culture and advertising (Street Art and Graffiti, 1). They are given the canvas of public property such
as sidewalks and building walls to create art pieces that can be viewed by potentially anyone.
However, the fact that the audience for street art is so vast can also lead to disagreements about the
content or location of the art, and difference in opinion between the artist and the viewers.
Street art can be used as a method of openly expressing opinions on controversial matters, such as
war, laws, public figures, social issues, and more. In Street Art San Francisco by Annice Jacoby, there
are several art pieces depicting anguish and disapproval. There is a mural of a person crying over
loved ones who have past away, with the words, Those We Love, We Remember. There is another
painted across a fence, depicting the lives affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Across the bottom,

Now, imagine that millions of customers do the same deviousness. I don t think that it will only
represent a little loss of money for the hospitality company. There is another problem with a social
media page which could affect the quality service of a hospitality group: actualization. Yes, if it doesn
t actualize its page, customers would be able to think, that the hospitality company, doesn t pay
attention to them. As a result, it will have a lot of repercussions on the quality provided by the hotel,
such as the argument of the competitor with a social page. And of course, we have to raise another
point about the idea of actualization. Yes, to update the page, someone is required. It means that a firm
must pay a new employee to develop, update and actualize the social media page. In other words, it
means: a loss of money, less benefits. To conclude, hospitality companies, have big interests to create
their own social page. But, they have to anticipate at all costs the drawbacks created by these networks
and pay attention to this terrible vicious circle which can push them to their loss, to their decline. This

The Importance Of My Trip To Japan
I woke up to the rumbling of the plane beneath me. The scenery around me was different, there was no
Diamond Head, no scraggly cliffs and golden beaches. Yet it was still so appealing to me. It was
everything I hoped for, and I was no less than ecstatic. My first trip to Japan and I had no idea what to
expect, but at the same time I expected everything. This was my fourth attempt of going to Japan. I
had tried many other times through various means such as competitions, or cultural enrichment
programs. Each attempt was a new loss to me but the phrase give up wasn t in my thesaurus. Now I
was on one of the biggest trips I could imagine courtesy of the Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, a group that
was all about sticking to your roots and learning everything available about your history; this trip was
the highest level of that achievable in my opinion. I could finally reap the fruits of my dedication to
my wants, and at the same time learn about my family s geographical origin. This was a trip that
showed the greater differences and similarities in culture and history than I was accustomed to. Things
learned and accepted both in the classroom and from TV would be thrown out the window in favor of
the things I saw and experienced in real life.
One of the most memorable moments was the beginning of the trip still in Hawaii while I was in the
middle of meeting my fellow Hawaiian delegates, they were all fun and great people, they were what I
expected but at the same time extremely unique

Essay on The Business of Crime by Humbert S. Nelli
The Business of Crime by Humbert S. Nelli
The Business of Crime: Italians and Syndicate Crime in the United States, written by Humbert S.
Nelli, contains the history of Italian criminal organizations in the New World, between 1880 and 1930.
The book is divided into three main parts. The first chapter, From Italy s South to America s South,
contains the political, social, economic, and cultural background of Italians before they entered in the
New World. Also, it describes the beginning of criminal organizations, and the national wide impact
created with the murder of Chief Hennesy (October 15, 1890). The second chapter, The Immigrant
Era, describes the Italian involvement in syndicates activities, and discusses the widely publicized ...

Moreover, he argues that much of the confusion concerning the Italian experience in American crime
is related to unclear and imprecise terminology used by writers (Preface).
Part II
He puts forward several examples in which it is evident the inaccuracy of certain facts over many
criminal cases which are reported as products of organized Italian mafias. For instance, he remarks in
his book: Gaster s report contained errors in almost every case outlined, and each error served to
blacken the reputation of New Orleans Italians (32). Gaster, the Superintendent of Police, believed he
would be killed by the mafia in the same way the Chief Hennesy was killed. In fact, the author listes
several reported cases in which the names and nationalities of criminals were changed as Italians. For
example:
On January 18, 1887, Dominica Tribiga shot and killed Jean Tamora, according to Gaster s list; the
impression given was that victim and killer were Italians. The coroner s report indicated that both
Dominique Trebigue and Jean Marie Trebigue (the actual names) were natives of France (33).
According to the Gaster

Setting Archetypes
ARCHETYPAL SETTINGS 1. The River Almost any source of water will focus on the importance of
life. Without water there is no life. A journey on or down a river is often a metaphor for life s journey
or a character s journey, especially if the river is shown as a road or means of travel pulling or pushing
a character through changes. (Twain s Huck Finn) Rivers can also be a metaphor for the passage of
time (Big Fish) or the stages of a human life (creek, roaring river, sea; or the crossing of the river Styx
in Greek myths). Since rivers are often used as political borders or boundaries, crossing one may be
seen as a passing over or a decision that cannot be taken back. In Africa, and thus African literature,

Journeys on boats are usually long and fraught with dangers that are overcome. Boats are also related
to islands, since crew is isolated from the regular rules of society. 6. The Island The Island is a
metaphor for isolation. People on islands are separated from their society. This can have a positive or
negative effect on characters (Robinson Crusoe vs. Lord of the Flies) Without the rules of society; the
island setting strips away characters down to the very basics of humanity. 7. The Mountain The
mountain in Hindu (India) culture was seen as the center of the universe from which all things could
be seen. Since people climb up mountains, characters that climb the mountains can be seen as moving
upward on a spiritual/emotional journey. Biblically, mountains are places where God reveals his truths
to man. In nearly all stories mountains are mysterious, powerful places. 8. The Wasteland Often a
desert, the wasteland represents an emotionally/physically barren place or time in a character s
journey. A character is usually cleansed of fear or doubt and reconnects to his/her sense of faith or
inner strength. Characters usually emerge from the wasteland stronger and more focused. Occasionally
the wasteland wins and a character emerges from the wasteland insane. 9. The Pasture/Field The
pasture represents a simple farming life that is predictable and calm. Often referred to as a pastoral

The Destructive Nature Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451 By...
Technology is both a miracle and a disaster in society today. New improvements have allowed
children to be safer physically now more than ever, allowing parents to know where they are 24/7.
However, studies have been shown that their mental state is in decline the addiction to devices is
driving a separation between teens and their friends, forcing them into a deep depression,
subsequently provoking a rise in self harm rates. Ray Bradbury s novel, Fahrenheit 451 written in
1953, gives us a glimpse into the future in order to display the screen obsessed and censorship filled
society in which the main character, Montag lives. Bradbury was able to predict technological
advancements and their destructive effects on future civilization including screen addiction, loss of
personal connections, and the depersonalization of war.
The author, Ray Bradbury, was able to predict the destructive nature of technology today, by
exploiting the screen addicted characters within his novel. One character that perfectly conveys a clear
obsession with technology is Mildred. She spends her days entranced in the pretty colors of her 3
walled television; she still yearns for more by asking her husband for another screen and justifies
herself by saying, It s only two thousand dollars...If we had a fourth wall, why it d be just like this

obsession with screens in this quote. She is willing to use

Stephen King Influences
Stephen King is one of today s most popular and best selling horror writers. King combines the
elements of psychological chills and paranormal. He loves to mess with the heads of his readers, often
making them feel sorry for his characters, such as in stories of Carrie and The Green Mile, which both
exhibit supernatural factors. King also tends to fancy writing from a viewpoint that the readers can get
into. The vast majority of King s stories occur in places his American readers can relate to personally.
It is uncommon to walk the streets and converse with someone who has not heard the name of Stephen

One of King s most famous works, and its fame is partly because of the movie, is the Green Mile. It
has many Christian qualities throughout. The Green Mile, a large, African American man named John
Coffey, seems to mirror the life of Jesus Christ, although the story is set in the death row area of a
depression era prison ( The Writing Style of Stephen King, para 35). The story really hits home with
people about the selflessness of Jesus Christ. For Christians and people who have a general idea of the
Bible, they will understand this story. John Coffey was prosecuted for from something he did not do.
He was a healer of the sick. He used supernatural powers to help the sick, as he heals one of the Ward
s wife who has a brain tumor towards the end of the novel. In The Green Mile, King uses magical
realism to introduce his readers to supernatural elements taking place in an ordinary realistic
environment (The Writing Styles of Stephen King para 20). In life we can experience things that do
not seem real even though they can happen is why it is magical to us. Sometimes people feel like they
are accused of things do not do and have to get punished for it, just as Coffey was. John eventually has
to die for the sins he did not commit, but he does not go without first teaching a lesson

The Impact Of President Woodrow Wilson And Women s Suffrage
For years in the United States of America, women have been battling for their rights. In the early years
when the United States were colonies, under the English common law, By marriage, the husband and
wife are one person in the law. The very being and legal existence of the woman is suspended during
the marriage, or at least is incorporated into that of her husband under whose wing and protection she

Analysis Of Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is a poem written by Robert Frost, which, on the surface,
appears to be a simple poem about a traveler on the darkest night of the year, who stops to observe a
forest in the middle of a winter storm. In reality, one can interpret a much deeper meaning from this
poem. This poem could be understood to be about facing one s responsibilities and fears in order to
make the most of life before death. The speaker in this poem is contemplating between choosing to die
or to face the obstacles of life. Through the use of literary devices such as alliteration, rhythm, and
imagery, Frost stresses the importance of coming to terms with facing fears and dealing with
responsibilities. Robert Frost uses alliteration in the poem to emphasize the key elements of his
sentences. With his use of alliteration, every line has a different connotation associated with different
emotions that the speaker may feel. At the start of the poem, Frost s words flow smoothly, which
emphasizes the absentmindedness of the speaker as they stand before the forest. Although, when Frost
writes gives his harness bells a shake / to ask if there is some mistake (Frost, 9), he employs the harsh
use of the letter k as a reminder of the speaker s responsibilities. The switch between the uses of
flowing, smooth words to the use of alliteration of the letter k serves as a method to show the reader
that the speaker has had a sudden realization about the demands of the real world. The use of softer
sounding consonants has also been incorporated in order to set the scene for the reader. The speaker is
trekking in a winter storm and stops to observe nature, which is shown through the repetitive use of
the consonant s as well as w , which are letters that sound like the wind in a storm. For instance, when
Frost writes, The only other sound s the sweep (Frost, 11), the soft sounding letters reminds the reader
of a winter storm which serves as a way for the reader to emerge themselves into the poem and to feel
as though, they too, are in a snowstorm. By allowing the reader to imagine the scenery in the storm, it
puts into perspective the difficulty the speaker must have been having between choosing to give

Reasonable Occupation Review Paper
Effects of the Realistic Job Previews on Employees Job Satisfaction
Abstract
Reasonable occupation review (RJP) is the presentation of data both positive and negative given to the
forthcoming representative about the occupation and the association. The data gave is expected to give
the practical picture of the association. The part of the data stream is to touch base at a phase where
the desires of the representative and the candidate match. It is being contended that representatives

It is made helpful by utilizing both formal and casual techniques. Its convenience can be surveyed if
the association discovers workforce, which coordinates its necessities.Better enlistment strategies give
an upper hand to the association (Kecia, and Gail, 1999). One of the striking elements of an enlistment
procedure is the capacity to influence an applicant (Quinetta, Collins and Oreg, 2005). It imparts
looked for after and ugly parts of the employment to the occupation candidate before he/she makes a
choice to acknowledge the occupation offer (Champnoise, 2004). Great RJPs give a complete
depiction of the employment (O Nell et al., 2001). It is meant to guarantee that gainful and able
candidates must join the association with a long haul responsibility to the association (Champnoise,
2004). It is normal that a great job practical sneak peak can help in lessening the turnover and the

chance that the data is excessively negative, then it would withhold the possibility to join the

12 Angry Men By Reginald Rose
An issue that has been circulating is whether or not to conform. Rob Siltanen says, ... The ones who
see things differently. They re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can
quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can t do is ignore
them. Because they change thing.[...] ( cited) What he says is agreeable because the one that does not
conform, will be the one that changes themselves, their society and even their future. This matter is an
open topic of debate because one may agree that an individual does not need to conform to society s
ideals in order to find their happiness or be successful in life.
When an individual chooses to not conform, it will lead them to their future and their own
accomplishment. In the play,12 Angry Men, by Reginald Rose, readers can understand that one do not
have to conform to what is the majority but an individual could be successful with their own action

Descartes Substance Dualism Essay
Introduction
Descartes is an early proponents of substance dualism, the view that there are two substances, an
immaterial mind and a material body. One common objection raised against his view is the mind body
problem which raises the question of how the two different substances can possibly causally interact
on substance dualism. In this essay, I will put forth two of Descartes replies to the problem and argue
that they are successful. I will then consider one objection based on the law of conservation of energy
and give a reply.
Mind body Problem
For a substance dualist, the immaterial mind and the material body are two very different substances.
Descartes thought he had a clear and distinct idea of himself as a mind, a thinking substance ... Show

Descartes replies Gassendi as such: At no place do you produce objections to my arguments; you
merely put forward doubts that you think follow from my conclusions, though in fact they merely
arise from your desire to call in the imagination to examine matters which are not within its proper
province. Thus when you try to compare the intermingling of mind and body with the intermingling of
two bodies, it is enough for me to reply that we should not set up any comparison between such
things, because they are quite different in kind.
His reply points out that (1) cannot be proven. Those who affirm (1) do so mistakenly because they
are thinking about physical causation and applying such a concept of causation to the mind and body
which is another domain. To use an example, suppose someone watched a billiard ball hit another ball
which causes it to roll away. He then concludes that causation only works when two objects come into
physical contact with one another visibly. Hence he rejects concepts such as gravity and magnetism.
Obviously this is a categorical mistake to expect them to work in the same way. Likewise, anyone who
holds to (1) must show that mind body causation cannot work without appealing to physical causation,
since the mind is not physical in the first

Alexie and The Swimmer by John Cheever. These two stories share motifs, symbols and themes. The
most obvious contrasts are as follows; the point of view for each of these stories is different. In
Alexies story, it is told in the first person view, for a reason too. In Cheever s story, it is presented to us

delineates a shift in American culture at the turn of the century; the creation of the New Woman and

Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to test the effects of bacteria using a treated hand and an
unwashed hand. Two plates of agar and a hand is used to retrieve the bacteria and then placed in a
temperature where they can survive. Different types of bacteria are affected by the environment that
slow down or increase the growth of these prokaryotes. When testing this certain type of bacteria the
warm temperature caused it to grow exceptionally fast comparted to the room temperature. Bacteria
are single celled microbes. The cell structure is simpler than that of other organisms as there is no

The data provided by the table supports the hypothesis; therefore the hypothesis can be accepted. The
hypothesis states that the untreated hand is the one that contained larger amount of bacteria grown.
The reason this is true is because bacteria can be found in environments that are unclean or untreated.
In addition, agar is made from subunits of galactose that contain cell walls from other species such as
the red algae. For this reason the agar plate is commonly used for culturing bacteria is since the
bacteria doesn t eat up the plate instead they grow rapidly on there. The table reflects the results of the
class reinforcing the theory that a treated hand will contain less bacteria than that of an unwashed
hand. A few numbers collected proved the opposite where the treated had more bacteria than the
unwashed hand. Although most of the data correlated to the hypothesis, some were not because of
many unknown factors such as not swiping correctly, or the student swiped too fast not leaving behind
enough bacteria to be delivered to the agar plate or during the hand washing there was not specific
way of washing them. When I plugged in my data the results did not match with the majority of the
class because there were very few bacteria colonies in my untreated and many more on the treated
hand; again, there are many reasons why the experiment did not turn out the way the hypothesis was
originally planned. However my results did not match the hypothesis, I still agree with the original

International trade has enabled countries to exchange goods, services and capital across the border, enabling better opportunities for both producers and consumers. However, in recent years, the benefits of International trade have been questioned by many economists and business experts. There are no doubts that International trade has been a blessing for many countries around the world, but the question that remains unanswered is, how does International trade benefit the United States economically. With fall, declining economic growth, and increase in unemployment, as claimed by conservatives, trade deals such as NAFTA and TPP have been under the spotlight for quite sometimes. • 10. Geothermal Energy from the Earth Geothermal energy Energy from the Earth What could be more natural or plentiful? The source of geothermal power is the heat contained inside the Earth; heat so intense that it creates molten magma. There are a few different types of geothermal energy that can be tapped. Some geothermal systems are formed when hot magma near the surface (1,500 to 10,000 meters deep) directly heats groundwater. The heat generated from these hot spots flows outward toward the surface, manifesting as volcanoes, geysers, and hot springs . Naturally occurring hot water and steam can be tapped by energy conversion technology to generate electricity or to produce hot water for direct use. Other geothermal systems are formed even when no magma is nearby as magma heats rocks which in turn heat deeply circulating groundwater. In order to maximize the energy gleaned from these so called hot dry rocks, geothermal facilities will often fracture the hot rocks and pump water into and from them in order to use the heated water to generate electricity. The concentration of geothermal energy at any given location must be quite high in order to make heat extraction feasible, and not all geothermal sites are created equally. Regions that have well developed geothermal systems are located in geologically active areas. These regions have continuous, concentrated heat flow to the surface. It has many Christian qualities throughout. The Green Mile, a large, African American man named John Coffey, seems to mirror the life of Jesus Christ, although the story is set in the death row area of a depression era prison ( The Writing Style of Stephen King, para 35). The story really hits home with people about the selflessness of Jesus Christ. For Christians and people who have a general idea of the Bible, they will understand this story. John Coffey was prosecuted for from something he did not do. He was a healer of the sick. He used supernatural powers to help the sick, as he heals one of the Ward s wife who has a brain tumor towards the end of the novel. In The Green Mile, King uses magical realism to introduce his readers to supernatural elements taking place in an ordinary realistic environment (The Writing Styles of Stephen King para 20). • 32. Analysis Of Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is a poem written by Robert Frost, which, on the surface, appears to be a simple poem about a traveler on the darkest night of the year, who stops to observe a forest in the middle of a winter storm. In reality, one can interpret a much deeper meaning from this poem. This poem could be understood to be about facing one s responsibilities and fears in order to make the most of life before death. The speaker in this poem is contemplating between choosing to die or to face the obstacles of life. Through the use of literary devices such as alliteration, rhythm, and imagery, Frost stresses the importance of coming to terms with facing fears and dealing with responsibilities. Robert Frost uses alliteration in the poem to emphasize the key elements of his sentences. With his use of alliteration, every line has a different connotation associated with different emotions that the speaker may feel. At the start of the poem, Frost s words flow smoothly, which emphasizes the absentmindedness of the speaker as they stand before the forest. Although, when Frost writes gives his harness bells a shake / to ask if there is some mistake (Frost, 9), he employs the harsh use of the letter k as a reminder of the speaker s responsibilities. The switch between the uses of flowing, smooth words to the use of alliteration of the letter k serves as a method to show the reader that the speaker has had a sudden realization about the demands of the real world. The use of softer sounding consonants has also been incorporated in order to set the scene for the reader. The speaker is trekking in a winter storm and stops to observe nature, which is shown through the repetitive use of the consonant s as well as w , which are letters that sound like the wind in a storm. For instance, when Frost writes, The only other sound s the sweep (Frost, 11), the soft sounding letters reminds the reader of a winter storm which serves as a way for the reader to emerge themselves into the poem and to feel as though, they too, are in a snowstorm. By allowing the reader to imagine the scenery in the storm, it puts into perspective the difficulty the speaker must have been having between choosing to give ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One common objection raised against his view is the mind body problem which raises the question of how the two different substances can possibly causally interact on substance dualism. In this essay, I will put forth two of Descartes replies to the problem and argue that they are successful. I will then consider one objection based on the law of conservation of energy and give a reply. Descartes replies Gassendi as such: At no place do you produce objections to my arguments; you merely put forward doubts that you think follow from my conclusions, though in fact they merely arise from your desire to call in the imagination to examine matters which are not within its proper province. Thus when you try to compare the intermingling of mind and body with the intermingling of two bodies, it is enough for me to reply that we should not set up any comparison between such things, because they are quite different in kind. His reply points out that (1) cannot be proven. Those who affirm (1) do so mistakenly because they are thinking about physical causation and applying such a concept of causation to the mind and body which is another domain. To use an example, suppose someone watched a billiard ball hit another ball which causes it to roll away. He then concludes that causation only works when two objects come into physical contact with one another visibly. Hence he rejects concepts such as gravity and magnetism. Obviously this is a categorical mistake to expect them to work in the same way. Different types of bacteria are affected by the environment that slow down or increase the growth of these prokaryotes. The data provided by the table supports the hypothesis; therefore the hypothesis can be accepted. The hypothesis states that the untreated hand is the one that contained larger amount of bacteria grown. The reason this is true is because bacteria can be found in environments that are unclean or untreated. In addition, agar is made from subunits of galactose that contain cell walls from other species such as the red algae. For this reason the agar plate is commonly used for culturing bacteria is since the bacteria doesn t eat up the plate instead they grow rapidly on there. The table reflects the results of the class reinforcing the theory that a treated hand will contain less bacteria than that of an unwashed hand. A few numbers collected proved the opposite where the treated had more bacteria than the unwashed hand. Although most of the data correlated to the hypothesis, some were not because of many unknown factors such as not swiping correctly, or the student swiped too fast not leaving behind enough bacteria to be delivered to the agar plate or during the hand washing there was not specific way of washing them. When I plugged in my data the results did not match with the majority of the class because there were very few bacteria colonies in my untreated and many more on the treated hand; again, there are many reasons why the experiment did not turn out the way the hypothesis was originally planned. However my results did not match the hypothesis, I still agree with the original ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
