Ntb Airplane Failure
Weather is possibly the biggest X factors affecting a pilot in flight. According to a 2014 Airplane
Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Report (NTSB DEN06LA036), approximately 4% of general
aviation accidents are weather related, yet these accidents account for more than 25% of all fatalities.
Unintended flight in to IMC is probably one of the most confusing, perilous, and challenging
situations a pilot can go through. On 25 January 2006, a pilot crashed his recently purchased Cessna
172C while ferrying it from Arkansas to his home base in Richfield, Utah after encountering
instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) while flying via visual flight rules (VFR). The airplane
suffered extensive damage when it collided with numerous trees ... Show more content on

Understanding your abilities, good flight planning, and thorough preparation for the flight are a few
ways to combat get there it is. Situational awareness is a cornerstone for good quality airmanship and
entails solid decision making, knowing what information is significant, and why that information is
significant. Using proper scan techniques such as the T scan or wagon wheel scan can help a pilot
maintain their situational awareness. Weather is something often glanced over during flight planning.
Especially if the weather is good or fair. Weather should always be a focal point during flight planning
however, it becomes even more important when planning a cross country flight. If a pilot plans a flight
toward a low or a front, they should expect the weather to most likely deteriorate the closer they get to
the low or front. Turbulence should also be expected as the flight nears the frontal area, particularly at

In 1846 the united States went to war with mexico, was this justified or unconstitutional? In 1821
mexico finally declared itself independent from spain, mexico stretched from guatemala to oregon and

over texas because they were still apart of mexico. Texas was pro slavery and did not want mexican

How Did Rosa Parks Change
Rosa Parks By: Cadence
Rosa Parks changed history by refusing to give up her seat to a white man. Rosa Parks was brave and
didn t care what the white man said to her. She was born on February 4, 1913 and died on October 25,
2005. One of her quotes was Each person must live there life as a model for others. Another was, I

Conservatives vs. Liberals
Conservatives vs. Liberals Conservatives are very supportive for individuals that are in the higher
class, while liberals support the lower class individuals in society. Conservatives and Liberals have
completely different views from one another. I personally favor liberalist views due to the fact they
favor equality within our society. While conservatives feel as though within a society everyone should
be responsible for themselves they don t believe in aid to mankind. In our society we can achieve and
do so much more if everyone as a whole worked together and cared about the individual next to them.

equality in the working class. Due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Donald Trump s Debate Analysis
Sunday October 9th, the second Presidential debate aired generating approximately 66.5 million
viewers to watch the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump debate the issues. Moderated by Martha
Raddatz and Anderson Cooper the debate was a town hall style with questions coming from undecided
voters, as well as facebook and the moderators. The television programs following the debate tend to
spin the debate in favor of their candiate. I tuned in to Hannity on Fox News on Monday following the
debate. I watched the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC also on Monsay. Lastly, I watched the sunday
news program Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.
Hannity consisted of clips of Sean Hannity interviewing an array of people at the debate immediately

It began with Mike Pence guest interview. This was the best interview I have seen, because it was the
least bias but not perfect. Chuck brought up trump statements and Michelle thougths. Not be swept
under rug . Pence begins and shows respect to Michelle, by saying trump feels bad. Pence says move
past. Focus of issues. But, chuck Todd follows up by saying trump not moving on and brings up clips
of Trump at rally, along with saying nine accusers came out and asks does mike really think it s all
talk. This difficult question Pence spins to Clinton corruption with the foundation amd says national
media is rigging election. Todd asks why pence hasn t called trump a good man this week? This a
bizzarw and specific claim, trying to start something. Pence says he has and talks about trump love
family. Trump aspiration to help US? Pence brings up France pres. criticizes obama and hill policy,
Todd continues to interrupt a sign of a bias not allowing Pemce to express opinions that he disagree.
At the end, Todd brings up Bill Kristol tweet about Pence resigning from Trump ticket. Next was a Joe
Biden interview, it was filmed before debate. They dscussed the tape of Trump in the RV with Bill
Bush. Joe begins with trumo statemnet txtbook sexual assault. Also, says Trump abuses power and he
is not the guy to represent the United States. Chuck asks if this leads bad message to men and women.

Hector Berlioz Research Paper
During the nineteenth century, music composers got inspiration from sources outside of the musical
world. The encounter with nature, a love tragedy, impressions of a journey, or a play often served as
motives that could be portrayed through music by using different colors, sound effects and moods. In
this type of music, events are described and as such it is called descriptive music. One of the most well
known composers of the nineteenth century of this type of music is Hector Berlioz.
Hector Berlioz was born in Grenoble, France in 1803. At his father s request, Berlioz pursued studies
in medicine before deciding to live his life as a music composer. His angry father decided to terminate
all of Berlioz s living supplies. Thus, while studying music in Paris, Berlioz began his career as a
music critic to earn a living. While in Paris, Berlioz saw a play by William Shakespeare, which greatly
inspired him. Berlioz composed many musical pieces that were inspired by literature works, such as
Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Damnation of Faust and The Trojans. Perhaps the most famous piece by
Hector Berlioz is Symphonie Fanstastique.

The main idea from the first movement comes back again, which later transitions to the waltz theme
again. In this movement, the artist is attending a ball, and is enjoying the beautiful notes of the waltz
when he remembers his love again. The harp playing in the background indicates a sense of loneliness
felt by the artist; he imagines dancing with his love in the ball room when he suddenly realizes that it
is only a dream and he is still in the ball. The louder music is to suggest that there are people in the
ballroom, dancing around the artist. At the end of this part, the music gets faster, which creates a sense
of urgent need for the beloved

Dead End In Norvelt Theme Essay
Theme:
In the book, Dead End in Norvelt, by Jack Gantos, there is a theme that the past influences the future.
This theme is underlying throughout all events in the novel, and as such, it is exemplified various
times throughout the story. One of the most prominent ways this is demonstrated throughout the story
is the fact that Eleanor Roosevelt founded the town and assigned the task of keeping health records of
the original members of the town to Mrs.Volker. On page 32, Mrs.Volker shows her devotion to her
job as she says Writing obits is doing my duty for Mrs.Roosevelt. This, said in Mrs.Volker s arrogant
voice, shows that Mrs.Volker believes it is her duty, not a request that she do this, and uses a phrase
often used with the emphasis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jack does not seem to mind this, but his mother lectures him about this. She claims that he needs to
refrain from viewing movies such s this due to his frequent nosebleeds that stem from a sensitive
nose.In this scene, Jack s nose is not bleeding. This proves that the past influences the future because
he has had nosebleeds watching movies in the past but this time, even though he is not bleeding, he
was scolded and told to never watch them again. Due to an unusually sensitive nose earlier, he will not
be able to watch war movies in the future. At one point in the story, Miss Volker and the man who has
been selling Norvelt houses, Mr.Huffer, get into a heated debate. In this quarrel, Mrs.Volker claims
that the city should be preserved, however, Mr.Huffer is quick to note that Nothing last s forever.
Mrs.Volker quickly fires back, claiming that History last s forever. This shows that the past influences
the future as Mrs.Volker is aware of the fact that the history, which takes place in the past, lasts
forever. This goes to show that the past influences the future, due to the fact that the past is the future.
Therefore, there is an underlying theme throughout the book Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos that
the past influences

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Report
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a disease of the digestive tract that can cause asthma and
other complications. GERD does not affect the heart itself even though the heart can burn as a result;
GERD can mimic the signs of a heart attack. This report will discuss how a prescription is not
necessarily needed for treatment, medicine can be purchased OTC. This disease also affects infants
and small children.
Component I.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive disorder disease that causes gastric
acid flow from the stomach to the esophagus. GERD occurs when the stomach is weak or relaxes
inappropriately allowing the flow of gastric content to flow upwards (1998 2015 Mayo Foundation).
Even though heart burn occurs with GERD it does not cause any harm to the heart itself. ... Show

The inferior plane means closer to the feet (below), and the stomach is inferior to the esophagus. The
mediastinum plane contains the esophagus, and the stomach is located in the abdominal cavity

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease affects the body as a whole in different ways. GERD can contribute
to asthma due to the fact that acid reflux can irritate the air ways and lungs which affects breathing
(Ray, Secrest, 2007, p. 36). GERD can cause indigestion (dyspepsia) which causes pain and burning
sensations in the upper stomach. In some cases GERD can be mistaken for a heart attack; it can cause
pain in the chest the same as a heart attack

The functional conflict is defined as a confrontation between groups that enhances and benefits the

3. To what degree do you think Iger s calmer and less confrontational approach to running Disney has
helped the company position itself to survive a major economic recession?
When Bob Iger succeeded Michael Eisner, he was considered a safe Mr. Inside who was a competent
operator and an unobjectionable personality.
Iger has steered Disney shrewdly since succeeding Michael Eisner. Where Eisner seemed forever
awash in controversies, Iger has chosen a shrewder, less confrontational path. It has helped Iger build
a stellar reputation on Wall Street, where the money barons don t like provocation.
His calmer approach helped repair key relationships that were strained during Eisners reign as CEO.
He believed in being productive instead of fighting wars and that gave a sign of relief to the company.
He was not too adherent to the company tradition rather he focused on being more innovative. He
encouraged risk taking as a means of innovation and development. He took risk to expand Disney
business adding broad mix of business to its portfolio like ABC family, ESPN and Disney channels.
He bought Pixar for $7.4 billion in 2006, gaining unmatched creative resources as well as the close
counsel of Pixar founder Steve Jobs (whose estate is Disney s single largest shareholder). He followed

Heart Rate Recovery Essay
Introduction
Being knowledgeable about the heart is very important, especially if one is an athlete. This experiment
is significant, because it can tell us how important it is for one to keep their heart healthy. It will also
tell us how playing a sport can benefit one s health and the well being of their heart. Our hypothesis
says, if the athleticism of a person increases, then the heart rate recovery time will decrease when
heart rate recovery in a function of athleticism. The purpose of this project is to see which type of
athlete, or non athlete has the best heart function.
The heart is a very strong muscle that has one major job. The heart s job is to pump blood throughout
the entire body. The heart is made up of 4 chambers, and 4 valves. There is the right and left atrium,
and a right and left ventricle. The atriums are the superior chambers, and the ventricles are inferior
chambers. The left ventricle is the most important, because that is where the blood travels through to
go to the aorta, and eventually the rest of the body (Taylor 2015).
The right atrium is where the process begins. Then, blood travels through the tricuspid valve to the
right ventricle, and from there to the pulmonary artery. Once the blood travels through the pulmonary
artery, it reaches the lungs. While in the lungs, the blood goes through a gas exchange: deoxygenated
blood gets oxygenated (The gas exchange takes place in the alveoli, which are tiny air sacs in the
bottom of the lungs

The Academy Research Paper
The year is 1888. The setting is Paris, France. Art is as popular as it has always been and people are
looking for new ways to express their artistic opinion. A question looms over the people as they begin
to view some of these new, revolutionary styles of art. Is it truly art. To the common folk art may be
whatever a person perceives as beautiful. But to the true artists, art is something more. The people
deciding what is true art and what is simply splatter on a canvas is The Academy. They are the true
artist, or at least they believe themselves to be. Other artist and critics believe these new waves of
style and expression are far superior to the archaic traditional style of art that the academy is so fond
of. However, The Academy is government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditionalism is exactly what its name implies. Traditionalism sticks to the established traditions set
forth by the academy. They look towards realism and religion for inspiration. The traditionalist believe
their work to be like a picture from a history book. The works need to be virtuous, teach values, and
be historically accurate. The research is part of the work s appeal. On the complete opposite side is
Avant Garde. It is defend by Tate.org as avant garde was originally applied to innovative approaches
to art making in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it is applicable to all art that pushes the
boundaries of ideas and creativity, and is still used today to describe art that is radical or reflects
originality of vision. With Traditionalism being the tried and true methods and Avant Garde pushing
the envelope, that leaves impressionism to be the middle man between the two. Impressionist look at
realistic depictions of life, not just biblical stories. They also use more colors and less straight lines.
You can see the brush strokes and the painter s hand. Each school believes their art form to the best.
Traditionalists cannot stand the unrefined style of Impressionism and Avant Garde. Impressionist and

lost 8 of their last 10 and look bad. Oklahoma was a projected one seed at a certain point but now it

Pharmaceutical industry is a science organisation that research and develop medicines to help improve
people s life. There are four departments in pharmaceutical. They are researching, development,
production and marketing. In this report we will be going to investigate only 2 of these departments.
They are research and manufacturing. This investigation will include the risk on health and safety in
both departments and how they are similar or different to each other. We will be talking about how to
prevent or decrease the risk of it happening and the cause of the hazard. Also we will be talking about
how it affects the employer and the employees.

Different hazards in manufacturing.
Dusts explosions can happen when stone or iron pieces get in to a disintegrator or grinding mill, this
could create a spark which ignite any flammable substance. This also requires large amount of oxygen
available for the flame to ignite. To manage dust and avoid any explosion, dust must not compile and
it should be removed as soon as it formed. Also by using a process called inerting this will cause the
dust to be diluted to a level less than its lower limit of explosive range. This is

Hannibal Lecter Character Traits
TERM PAPER SERIAL KILLERS AND ALIENS
ANALYSIS OF HANNIBAL LECTER
INTRODUCTION
Man is the world s most dangerous animal. Though we do not possess sharp teeth, claws, poisonous
stingers, or the ability to perceive heat radiated by other creatures, we do possess an unsurpassed
ability to reason and think. Man has intelligence, the deadliest natural weapon of all. In Thomas Harris
The Silence of the Lambs, readers are introduced to Hannibal Lecter, the cannibalistic psychiatrist,
who fuses a razor honed intellect with the savage qualities of a beast. He is both man and monster, but
it is the balance of these two aspects that gives him the depth that still fascinates and horrifies to this
day. In order to reach this conclusion with significant arguments I will proceed to analyze the books
and different movies that refer to this interesting character.
SUMMARY OF THE FILMS
First of all, I believe that it is important to start from the beginning of Hannibal`s life in order to
understand why he became the character that most people are fascinated by. The first movie in terms
of telling the childhood of Hannibal Lecter is Hannibal Rising which was directed by Peter Weber in

Corrupt Leaders In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegory about the 1902 Russian Revolution that led to the
overthrowing of a corrupt leader, Czar Nicholas II. In the book Animal Farm, Mr. Jones isn t treating
his animals fairly. In 1902, Czar Nicholas II wasn t treating his people equally either. The novel and
the real event can be tied together in many ways, one including having corrupt leaders affecting
society. Corrupt leaders have an effect on society because they let the power get to their heads by not
being equal, thinking they are above everyone else, and by treating their people poorly. In 1917, the
Russian Revolution started, but in 1902 Russia started falling. Czar Nicholas was in charge at the time
and he started to treat his people badly. Czar Nicholas would indulge himself while his people were
starving. The people of Russia overthrew Nicholas and the provisional government. Stalin took over
as the dictator and wasn t any better than Nicholas. In Animal Farm, Mr. Jones was mistreating his

Glaucoma Essay
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a group of eye disorders that cause blindness by hurting the optic nerve, which is the
large nerve that is responsible for vision. In glaucoma, the optic nerve damage is related to a change in
the fluid pressure that circulates around the eyeball. In many cases, Glaucoma occurs when the eye s
fluid pressure is high, but it can also occur when the pressure is measured as normal.
Fluid circulating inside the front portion of the eye is produced by a structure called the ciliary body,
which is located behind the iris. This fluid moves through the opening of the pupil, passes into the
space between the iris and the cornea, and drains out of the eye through a tissue called the angle. With
glaucoma, the passing of fluid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prevention
Right now, although there is no way to prevent glaucoma, there are many successful treatments
available to prevent the blindness caused by glaucoma. Because the gradual vision loss of chronic
glaucoma may not be noticed until it is too late, regular eye examinations, dilated exams of the optic
nerve, and screening tests of the visual field are essential for all persons aged 40 and older, especially
is your family has a history of glaucoma.
Treatment
Treatment of open angle glaucoma usually begins with prescription eyedrops. These eyedrops lower
pressure inside the eyeball, either by causing the eye to produce less fluid or by helping fluid to drain
more. As an alternative to medication or when medication does not control glaucoma, laser surgery
can be done. This surgery, also called laser trabeculoplasty, uses a laser to make the openings in the
eye s drainage network larger. If medication and laser surgery are unsuccessful, conventional eye
surgery may be necessary to make a new opening for fluid to leave the eye.
Acute glaucoma must be treated early to prevent loss of vision. Treatment usually begins with laser
treatment to make a new opening in the iris that allows the angle to open. This is often restores vision,
but in some eyes it is necessary to use eyedrops long term. Surgical treatment

Playing against a Computer or a Human Research
Background and significance Individuals participating in an interaction perceive one another as
rational agents who possess beliefs, desires and intentions that might be different than their own.
Assumptions made about these mental states are used to interpret and predict behavior. Conferring
such attributes to an agent (human, computer, whatever) has been described as adopting an intentional
stance (Dennet, 1996). Adopting an intentional stance is part of our broader ability to mentalize which
involves representing and attributing mental states to oneself and others. Research concerned with
understanding the neural system of mentalizing has indentified a network of regions that minimally
involve the temporoparietal region (TPJ) and the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) (Abu Akel and
Shamay Tsoory, 2011). However, it is not completely clear the extent to which humans readily
mentalize (or adopt an intentional stance) with other humans or non humans (e.g., computers). Thus
an important goal of this study is to investigate how the neural network associated with adopting an
intentional stance is modulated under various interaction conditions in which the interacting partner
and the context are varied. Several studies employing various interactive games have been conducted
to uncover the neural basis involved in adopting an intentional stance. These studies followed a
similar script according to which participants were led to believe that they are playing either against a

Hiroshima John Hersey Essay
Hiroshima, was written by Pulitzer Prize winner and author John Hersey in 1946. John Hersey was an
American journalist and novelist who was well known for his documentary works about the
calamitous events of WWII. In his book, Hiroshima, the stories of six victims of the attack are shared
following the drop of the American atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. His historical masterpiece is one
of the most important works of the twentieth century. At the time the book was published, Americans
had little insight on the details of the attack on the Japanese city. By writing this book, Hersey was
able to open the eyes of many Americans to the severity of effects of the attack experienced by
civilians. John Hersey writes the book a way in which he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As mentioned earlier, his retelling of their stories shows us their utter confusion and terror, which
helps to bring them to life for the audience. Therefore, as the characters experienced the bombing and
its later effects, they shared what only they could know and did not have all the information about the
attack. Because their personal accounts are overwhelming and in the mists of chaos, Hersey adds in
additional factual details to supplement the characters confusion of events and help the reader see the
devastation beyond the characters viewpoint. More specifically, Hersey includes information about the
abnormal water droplets after the bombing. On page 18 of Chapter 2 The Fire, Hersey illustrates that
Mr. Tanimoto recalled when huge drops of water the size of marbles began to fall, he half thought that
they must be coming from the hoses of firemen fighting the blaze. Hersey then explains that what Mr.
Tanimoto thought was coming from the firemen s hoses, were in fact drops of condensed moisture
failing from the turbulent tower of dust, heat, and fission fragments that had already risen miles into
the sky above Hiroshima, (18). John Hersey includes these added factual details to clarify the
experiences of the characters allowing for a deeper understanding of the readers and adding to the
expression of confusion from the

Difference Between Dojo And Gadjo
Comparision of AngularJS with enterprise toolkits like DOJO
Dojo Toolkit:
(quoting from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojo_Toolkit)
Dojo Toolkit is an open source modular JavaScript library (or more specifically JavaScript toolkit)
designed to ease the rapid development of cross platform, JavaScript/Ajax based applications and web
sites. Dojo is a Javascript framework targeting the many needs of large scale client side web
development. For example, Dojo abstracts the differences among diverse browsers to provide APIs
that will work on all of them. It establishes a framework for defining modules of code and managing
their interdependencies; it provides build tools for optimizing JavaScript and CSS, generating
documentation, and unit testing; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these provisions are:
AngularJS encourages and enforces to minimize DOM manipulations and recommends to perform
DOM manipulation only from directives that can be used in HTML thus avoiding spaghetti code
resulting from extensive DOM manipulations and DOM events etc. that are hard to debug and trace in
large web applications. Angular directives also help to increase the semantics of the HTML.
Angular provides features like modules that lets the application developer package different parts of
the application logic as modules to increase modularity and maintainability of the application.
Angular provides features like DI (Dependency Injection) design pattern inherently that help in
maintaining modularity and comprehensibility of the application.
Project structure scaffolds are available for AngularJS for development of maintainable enterprise web
application.
Dojo does not provide mechanisms to minimize DOM manipulations and thus for large web
applications, DOM manipulations tend to increase the chances of spaghetti code in the application and
thus it affects the maintainability of the application. Dojo supports modules (AMD) but does not
provide the DI pattern for the web application. (quoting from

Medtronic Health Insurance Case Study

Shelley Black OL620 Total Rewards August 4, 2017 Summary According to the case study, Consumer
Health Care: Medtronic s Health Insurance Options, by Herzlinger, Hurwich and Bokser, I have come
to the conclusion that Medtronic was trying to offer an array of services to their employees but yet
really didn t analyze what they were providing. Currently, Medtronic offers three distinct health plans
that are comparable with their employee s as well as industry competitors. However, there were
several areas that I found concerning that is in regards to cost where the company is spending more
money than they need to. Within this paper, I will be addressing some factors in areas such as where
money could be saved so that they may be able to use this additional money in other areas for the
company. Restrictions At the time, Medtronic made decisions what they thought would be good for
the company as well as their employees. However, there are several areas of concern that could be
redesigned to help accommodate cost as well as the company. One area that I saw right away that
needs attention immediately was the redesign of the part time employee s hours. Currently, Medtronic
considers part time as those who work 32 or less hours per week. According to the Affordable Care
Act (ACA), if an employee works a minimum of 30 hours per week, they are considered full time and

Damodaran on Capital and Operating Leases
Dealing with Operating Leases in Valuation Aswath Damodaran Stern School of Business 44 West
Fourth Street New York, NY 10012 adamodar@stern.nyu.edu
Abstract
Most firm valuation models start with the after tax operating income as a measure of the operating
income on a firm and reduce it by the reinvestment rate to arrive at the free cash flow to the firm.
Implicitly, we assume that the operating expenses do not include any financing expenses (such as
interest expense on debt). While this assumption, for the most part, is true, there is a significant
exception. When a firm leases an asset, the accounting treatment of the expense depends upon whether
it is categorized as an operating or a capital lease. Operating lease expenses are ... Show more content

These leases are called combination leases. Accounting For Leases The effects of leasing an asset on
accounting statements will depend on how the lease is categorized by the Internal Revenue Service
(for tax purposes) and by generally accepted accounting standards (for measurement purposes). Since
leasing an asset rather than buying it substitutes lease payments as a tax deduction for the payments
that would have been claimed as tax deductions by the firm if had owned the asset (depreciation and
interest expenses on debt), the IRS is wary of lease arrangements designed purely to
speed up tax deductions. Some of the issues the IRS considers in deciding whether lease payments
are tax deductible include the following: Are the lease payments on the asset spread out over the life
of the asset or are they accelerated over a much shorter period? Can the lessee continue to use the
asset after the life of the lease at preferential rates or nominal amounts? Can the lessee buy the asset at
the end of the life of the lease at a price well below market? If lease payments are made over a period
much shorter than the asset s life and the lessee is allowed either to continue leasing the asset at a
nominal amount or to buy the asset at a price below market, the IRS may view

Plot and Literary Style Must Interact in an Effective Way
Both the plot and literary style are elements that are unique to each author and his or her works. If
these interact in an effective way, the reader will be able to fully understand both the story line and the
message that the author is trying to communicate in the piece. Both Blindness by José Saramago and
The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster are novels in which the literary style used enhances the plot of
the story. Similarly, the storyline justifies the reasons behind the use of that author s particular style.
Saramago s style of writing reinforces the plot because it represents and explains the events and
psychological struggles endured by each individual in the novel. In Blindness, the narrator does not
reveal the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This goes along with the plot of the novel since it shows the reader how the characters feel being
unaware of who is talking and what they look like. Additionally, the use of language by the author
plays an important role in developing the storyline of the novel. The narrator employs language that is
formal, descriptive, and objective. The use of detailed descriptions, often in events that people are not
accustomed to openly discuss, provides the reader a much better understanding of what the characters
have to struggle with during their blindness. When the doctor goes to the bathroom, the narrator
describes how he takes down his trousers , steps on soft pulp and then [tries] to clean himself . The use
of very descriptive language allows the reader to grasp the challenges the individuals go through. The
style used by the Saramago in Blindness reinforces the plot by emphasizing the challenges and the
situations that the blind people go through in the novel, as well as giving life to the storyline itself.
Analogous to the literary style presented by Saramago, the plot is able to justify use and enhance the
features presented by it. The plot of Blindness justifies the use of a specific literary style to get a better
understanding of the actions and the struggle for existence underwent by each individual. At the
beginning of the novel, the narrator starts out describing a typical

Seventy one percent of our planet is covered by water, so it would seem that we could never run out of
drinking water. But of that seventy one percent, ninety seven percent is salt water extremely expensive

As population of this planet has grown, we have increasingly tapped deeper into our planets fresh
water resources and are now finding less available when and where it is needed. Our available fresh
water is static, there is essentially no more fresh water on the planet today than there was 2,000 years
ago when the earth s human population was less than three percent its current size. The trend of
population growth is quite obvious.
According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the population of the world in 1955 was 2.8 billion; in
the year 2014, the world s population increased to 7.207 billion. According to World Watch, the
population is expected to reach 8.1 billion people by the year 2025. As population increases, so does
demand for pure drinking water, but changes in social attitudes and behaviors could redirect our
present course and possibly curb the global population growth.
Social and economic trends in population growth appear to be changing. Our past can provide
substantial insight into our future. Family planning services have had great success and produced
dramatic results in reducing global population, thus reducing fresh water consumption. According the
John Bongaarts, population has been reduced by an estimated 400 million people through the use of
family planning programs. In many parts of the world, water problems are today more manageable

Race Analysis In Swimming
When looking at my race analyses, I see I m certainly biased towards the 50 m freestyle. The extra
attention comes down to one main reason: the 50 m is the easiest to analyze. For one, it is the shortest,
but also, the cameramen typically give you another view of the race, helping myself obtain data.
Anyway, for past race analyses, be sure to checkout our race analysis page. In the 50 m freestyle final,

Pacific Adventist University is an institution where people from all over the Pacific, Papua New
Guinea and other parts of the world come to learn and get educated. Indeed it is the most beautiful

The behavior of the students consciousness towards littering in the campus is not really getting out of
hand. Not all students have the don t care attitude as the result is stating. Students falls into two
different categories. There are students who have the heart to keep their study environment clean and
there are those who do not. Those that practice littering have a fair idea that it is wrong. But yet they
tend do it without thinking. The next paragraph will describe further on such behavior of the students .
According to the result everybody is trying to say that they do not want littering. For the positive
statements they are responding positively and for the negative statement they are responding
negatively. Students may not want to discard rubbishes like piece of paper or an empty packet of
something anywhere, but apparently they do. This may happen due to laziness, maybe because
ofdistance between them and the rubbish bin. They do not want to walk because it might take some of
their time (time factor). This clearly shows that students have attitude problem even though they are
educated. Knowing that littering is wrong and yet doing it can explain that there is an attitude
problem. Cialdini and others (1981:255) strongly agree that littering is a measure of attitude . Littering
especially occurs when someone (who cares) is not watchingor witnessing

Descriptive Essay About My Place In High School
Have you ever been in a place that at first glance does not seem like anything special, yet the more
time you spend in that place the more enjoyable it becomes? As you are going into high school you
will be taking several FACS classes. The more you know about the FACS room the better prepared
you will be for those classes. The FACS classroom at Holcomb High School is a delightful place to be.
There are three different sections that make up the FACS classroom. Starting first with the classroom
its self, where all the desks are, and where you do your textbook assignments. The second part of the
classroom is the adjoining room that is made up of the kitchens that you learn to cook in. The last part
is the small picnic area outside. As you first walk through the door into the classroom, you will notice
how large the classroom is. As you scan the room for the first time you will see that the room has lots
of pops of colors from pictures and posters on the walls. You will see the roughly twenty five cheap
plastic desk and chairs. The walls are tan painted cinder blocks, the paint gives the walls a smooth yet
sort of bumpy texture. As you look up to the ceiling you will see ceiling tiles, that over the years have
faded and been scuffed up. Looking down at the floor you will see that the floor is covered in well
abused glued down laminate tiles. The tiles stared as an off white and have slowly yellowed. Cabinets
wrap around the room that alternate between a pale yellow and white,

Relationship Between Cellular Respiration And Photosynthesis
Cellular respiration and photosynthesis are the primary actions that organisms go through in order to
retrieve efficiency through nature. Photosynthesis is primarily done by plants and cellular respiration
is done by animals in order to gain the energy they require. Photosynthesis is the process through
which plant cells convert energy from the sun into chemical vitality. The chemical process of
photosynthesis involves carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight which are then turned to glucose and
oxygen. Cellular respiration consists of the separation of food molecules that results in energy which
is then reserved as adenosine triphosphate molecules. After sugar molecules are formed by
photosynthesis, the plants go through cellular respiration in order to form ATP molecules. Animals

The first stage is glycolysis, the second stage is the linking reaction, the third stage is the Krebs cycle,
and the final stage is electron transport. During the glycolysis stage glucose is disintegrated, this
happens in the cytoplasm of the cell. Once the glucose is broken down two identical compounds are
created. Two electrons and a hydrogen ion are removed then attached to adenine forming NADH.
Water is then formed using an oxygen and two hydrogen atoms. In this stage two ATP molecules are
added. The linking reaction occurs in the mitochondria of the cell. NAD+ and pyruvate come together
to form NADH and an acetyl enzyme. The Krebs cycle involves removing hydrogen atoms from the
acetyl coenzyme in order to form four molecules of ATP. Carbon then combines with oxygen, creating
carbon dioxide. Electrons are unconstrained and move towards the electron transport chain because of
NADH. These electrons go through the electron chain until it finds an oxygen atom, where water is
formed then released. ATP molecules are created because of the energy released by the electron. In
this stage 32 molecules of ATP are

Compressions In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales to communicate moral lessons of his time that still
influence society today. The Canterbury Tales is a story of a pilgrimage of twenty nine characters to
the Canterbury Cathedral. On the way, each character had to tell two tales as well as two on the way
home. These tales provided entertainment for the characters on their trip. The tales are told by the
narrator, and his viewpoints on the characters reflect Chaucer s opinions towards the characters. The
tales that each character tells are each unique to each person, but through analyzing them further it is
seen that the tales share many similarities. In both tales, the main character has a different outer
impression which hides the Pardoner s and the Wife of Bath s true inner characteristics from society.
Chaucer reveals their inner characteristics through the characters tales and how they present them. In
the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer conveys a theme that although individuals set first impressions based
on appearance, the reality of their true character is often masked by how they appear.
The general and character prologue in The Canterbury Tales gives initial physical descriptions of the
Wife of Bath and the Pardoner which helps reinforce the theme that appearance often masks reality. In
the general prologue of the Wife of Bath, she is described at first as somdel deef which gives her a
negative outer appearance which follows her throughout her description as an attractive and

While conservatives feel as though within a society everyone should be responsible for themselves they don t believe in aid to mankind. • 8. Hector Berlioz Research Paper During the nineteenth century, music composers got inspiration from sources outside of the musical world. The encounter with nature, a love tragedy, impressions of a journey, or a play often served as motives that could be portrayed through music by using different colors, sound effects and moods. In this type of music, events are described and as such it is called descriptive music. One of the most well known composers of the nineteenth century of this type of music is Hector Berlioz. Hector Berlioz was born in Grenoble, France in 1803. At his father s request, Berlioz pursued studies in medicine before deciding to live his life as a music composer. His angry father decided to terminate all of Berlioz s living supplies. Thus, while studying music in Paris, Berlioz began his career as a music critic to earn a living. While in Paris, Berlioz saw a play by William Shakespeare, which greatly inspired him. Berlioz composed many musical pieces that were inspired by literature works, such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Damnation of Faust and The Trojans. • 9. Dead End In Norvelt Theme Essay Theme: In the book, Dead End in Norvelt, by Jack Gantos, there is a theme that the past influences the future. This theme is underlying throughout all events in the novel, and as such, it is exemplified various times throughout the story. One of the most prominent ways this is demonstrated throughout the story is the fact that Eleanor Roosevelt founded the town and assigned the task of keeping health records of the original members of the town to Mrs.Volker. On page 32, Mrs.Volker shows her devotion to her job as she says Writing obits is doing my duty for Mrs.Roosevelt. This, said in Mrs.Volker s arrogant voice, shows that Mrs.Volker believes it is her duty, not a request that she do this, and uses a phrase often used with the emphasis ... She claims that he needs to refrain from viewing movies such s this due to his frequent nosebleeds that stem from a sensitive nose.In this scene, Jack s nose is not bleeding. This proves that the past influences the future because he has had nosebleeds watching movies in the past but this time, even though he is not bleeding, he was scolded and told to never watch them again. Due to an unusually sensitive nose earlier, he will not be able to watch war movies in the future. At one point in the story, Miss Volker and the man who has been selling Norvelt houses, Mr.Huffer, get into a heated debate. In this quarrel, Mrs.Volker claims that the city should be preserved, however, Mr.Huffer is quick to note that Nothing last s forever. Mrs.Volker quickly fires back, claiming that History last s forever. This shows that the past influences the future as Mrs.Volker is aware of the fact that the history, which takes place in the past, lasts forever. This goes to show that the past influences the future, due to the fact that the past is the future. To what degree do you think Iger s calmer and less confrontational approach to running Disney has helped the company position itself to survive a major economic recession? Iger has steered Disney shrewdly since succeeding Michael Eisner. Where Eisner seemed forever awash in controversies, Iger has chosen a shrewder, less confrontational path. • 13. Heart Rate Recovery Essay Introduction Being knowledgeable about the heart is very important, especially if one is an athlete. This experiment is significant, because it can tell us how important it is for one to keep their heart healthy. It will also tell us how playing a sport can benefit one s health and the well being of their heart. Our hypothesis says, if the athleticism of a person increases, then the heart rate recovery time will decrease when heart rate recovery in a function of athleticism. The purpose of this project is to see which type of athlete, or non athlete has the best heart function. The heart is a very strong muscle that has one major job. The heart s job is to pump blood throughout the entire body. The heart is made up of 4 chambers, and 4 valves. There is the right and left atrium, and a right and left ventricle. The atriums are the superior chambers, and the ventricles are inferior chambers. The left ventricle is the most important, because that is where the blood travels through to go to the aorta, and eventually the rest of the body (Taylor 2015). The right atrium is where the process begins. Then, blood travels through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle, and from there to the pulmonary artery. Once the blood travels through the pulmonary artery, it reaches the lungs. While in the lungs, the blood goes through a gas exchange: deoxygenated blood gets oxygenated (The gas exchange takes place in the alveoli, which are tiny air sacs in the bottom of the lungs ... Though we do not possess sharp teeth, claws, poisonous stingers, or the ability to perceive heat radiated by other creatures, we do possess an unsurpassed ability to reason and think. Man has intelligence, the deadliest natural weapon of all. In Thomas Harris The Silence of the Lambs, readers are introduced to Hannibal Lecter, the cannibalistic psychiatrist, who fuses a razor honed intellect with the savage qualities of a beast. He is both man and monster, but it is the balance of these two aspects that gives him the depth that still fascinates and horrifies to this day. In order to reach this conclusion with significant arguments I will proceed to analyze the books and different movies that refer to this interesting character. SUMMARY OF THE FILMS First of all, I believe that it is important to start from the beginning of Hannibal`s life in order to understand why he became the character that most people are fascinated by. In glaucoma, the optic nerve damage is related to a change in the fluid pressure that circulates around the eyeball. In many cases, Glaucoma occurs when the eye s fluid pressure is high, but it can also occur when the pressure is measured as normal. Fluid circulating inside the front portion of the eye is produced by a structure called the ciliary body, which is located behind the iris. This fluid moves through the opening of the pupil, passes into the space between the iris and the cornea, and drains out of the eye through a tissue called the angle. Prevention Right now, although there is no way to prevent glaucoma, there are many successful treatments available to prevent the blindness caused by glaucoma. Because the gradual vision loss of chronic glaucoma may not be noticed until it is too late, regular eye examinations, dilated exams of the optic nerve, and screening tests of the visual field are essential for all persons aged 40 and older, especially is your family has a history of glaucoma. Treatment Treatment of open angle glaucoma usually begins with prescription eyedrops. These eyedrops lower pressure inside the eyeball, either by causing the eye to produce less fluid or by helping fluid to drain more. As an alternative to medication or when medication does not control glaucoma, laser surgery can be done. This surgery, also called laser trabeculoplasty, uses a laser to make the openings in the eye s drainage network larger. If medication and laser surgery are unsuccessful, conventional eye surgery may be necessary to make a new opening for fluid to leave the eye. Acute glaucoma must be treated early to prevent loss of vision. Treatment usually begins with laser treatment to make a new opening in the iris that allows the angle to open. This is often restores vision, but in some eyes it is necessary to use eyedrops long term. Surgical treatment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Playing against a Computer or a Human Research Background and significance Individuals participating in an interaction perceive one another as rational agents who possess beliefs, desires and intentions that might be different than their own. Assumptions made about these mental states are used to interpret and predict behavior. Conferring such attributes to an agent (human, computer, whatever) has been described as adopting an intentional stance (Dennet, 1996). Adopting an intentional stance is part of our broader ability to mentalize which involves representing and attributing mental states to oneself and others. Research concerned with understanding the neural system of mentalizing has indentified a network of regions that minimally involve the temporoparietal region (TPJ) and the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) (Abu Akel and Shamay Tsoory, 2011). However, it is not completely clear the extent to which humans readily mentalize (or adopt an intentional stance) with other humans or non humans (e.g., computers). Thus an important goal of this study is to investigate how the neural network associated with adopting an intentional stance is modulated under various interaction conditions in which the interacting partner and the context are varied. Several studies employing various interactive games have been conducted to uncover the neural basis involved in adopting an intentional stance. These studies followed a similar script according to which participants were led to believe that they are playing either against a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His historical masterpiece is one of the most important works of the twentieth century. At the time the book was published, Americans had little insight on the details of the attack on the Japanese city. Because their personal accounts are overwhelming and in the mists of chaos, Hersey adds in additional factual details to supplement the characters confusion of events and help the reader see the devastation beyond the characters viewpoint. More specifically, Hersey includes information about the abnormal water droplets after the bombing. On page 18 of Chapter 2 The Fire, Hersey illustrates that Mr. Tanimoto recalled when huge drops of water the size of marbles began to fall, he half thought that they must be coming from the hoses of firemen fighting the blaze. Damodaran on Capital and Operating Leases Dealing with Operating Leases in Valuation Aswath Damodaran Stern School of Business 44 West Fourth Street New York, NY 10012 adamodar@stern.nyu.edu Abstract Most firm valuation models start with the after tax operating income as a measure of the operating income on a firm and reduce it by the reinvestment rate to arrive at the free cash flow to the firm. Implicitly, we assume that the operating expenses do not include any financing expenses (such as interest expense on debt). Accounting For Leases The effects of leasing an asset on accounting statements will depend on how the lease is categorized by the Internal Revenue Service (for tax purposes) and by generally accepted accounting standards (for measurement purposes). Since leasing an asset rather than buying it substitutes lease payments as a tax deduction for the payments that would have been claimed as tax deductions by the firm if had owned the asset (depreciation and interest expenses on debt), the IRS is wary of lease arrangements designed purely to speed up tax deductions. Some of the issues the IRS considers in deciding whether lease payments are tax deductible include the following: Are the lease payments on the asset spread out over the life of the asset or are they accelerated over a much shorter period? Can the lessee continue to use the asset after the life of the lease at preferential rates or nominal amounts? Can the lessee buy the asset at the end of the life of the lease at a price well below market? Both Blindness by José Saramago and The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster are novels in which the literary style used enhances the plot of the story. AnalysisFlorent lifts head Overall, Manaudou won the race on the start and 25 35 m mark. On the start, Adrian should delay the initiation of his kick by ~0.25 seconds. This delay will allow him to maintain his starting velocity longer, as well as reduce his overall strokes required in the race. Manaudou should try to maintain his stroke rate into the wall and finish without looking forward. This forward look creates massive frontal drag and these bad habits may cost him a close race giving him not reason to lane line lounge. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

STUDENT CONSCIOUSNESS TOWARDS LITTERING IN PAU CAMPUS A paper Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the subject HE 116.1 Academic English By Jacinta Kaupa Aim : The aim of this survey was to find out how conscious the students are towards littering. Introduction Pacific Adventist University is an institution where people from all over the Pacific, Papua New Guinea and other parts of the world come to learn and get educated. Indeed it is the most beautiful place in Papua New Guinea as most critics say. This is because of the landscape and the well preserved lawn with the variety of birds and the lakes. However, it is not as beautiful as many people think when speaking of littering. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The behavior of the students consciousness towards littering in the campus is not really getting out of hand. Not all students have the don t care attitude as the result is stating. Students falls into two different categories. There are students who have the heart to keep their study environment clean and there are those who do not. Those that practice littering have a fair idea that it is wrong. But yet they tend do it without thinking. The next paragraph will describe further on such behavior of the students . According to the result everybody is trying to say that they do not want littering. For the positive statements they are responding positively and for the negative statement they are responding negatively. Students may not want to discard rubbishes like piece of paper or an empty packet of something anywhere, but apparently they do. This may happen due to laziness, maybe because ofdistance between them and the rubbish bin. They do not want to walk because it might take some of their time (time factor). This clearly shows that students have attitude problem even though they are educated. Knowing that littering is wrong and yet doing it can explain that there is an attitude problem. Cialdini and others (1981:255) strongly agree that littering is a measure of attitude . Littering especially occurs when someone (who cares) is not watchingor witnessing ... • 33. Descriptive Essay About My Place In High School Have you ever been in a place that at first glance does not seem like anything special, yet the more time you spend in that place the more enjoyable it becomes? As you are going into high school you will be taking several FACS classes. The more you know about the FACS room the better prepared you will be for those classes. The FACS classroom at Holcomb High School is a delightful place to be. There are three different sections that make up the FACS classroom. Starting first with the classroom its self, where all the desks are, and where you do your textbook assignments. The second part of the classroom is the adjoining room that is made up of the kitchens that you learn to cook in. The last part is the small picnic area outside. As you first walk through the door into the classroom, you will notice how large the classroom is. As you scan the room for the first time you will see that the room has lots of pops of colors from pictures and posters on the walls. You will see the roughly twenty five cheap plastic desk and chairs. The walls are tan painted cinder blocks, the paint gives the walls a smooth yet sort of bumpy texture. As you look up to the ceiling you will see ceiling tiles, that over the years have faded and been scuffed up. Looking down at the floor you will see that the floor is covered in well abused glued down laminate tiles. The tiles stared as an off white and have slowly yellowed. Cabinets wrap around the room that alternate between a pale yellow and white, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Relationship Between Cellular Respiration And Photosynthesis Cellular respiration and photosynthesis are the primary actions that organisms go through in order to retrieve efficiency through nature. Photosynthesis is primarily done by plants and cellular respiration is done by animals in order to gain the energy they require. Photosynthesis is the process through which plant cells convert energy from the sun into chemical vitality. The chemical process of photosynthesis involves carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight which are then turned to glucose and oxygen. Cellular respiration consists of the separation of food molecules that results in energy which is then reserved as adenosine triphosphate molecules. After sugar molecules are formed by photosynthesis, the plants go through cellular respiration in order to form ATP molecules. Animals gather food molecules ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first stage is glycolysis, the second stage is the linking reaction, the third stage is the Krebs cycle, and the final stage is electron transport. During the glycolysis stage glucose is disintegrated, this happens in the cytoplasm of the cell. Once the glucose is broken down two identical compounds are created. Two electrons and a hydrogen ion are removed then attached to adenine forming NADH. Water is then formed using an oxygen and two hydrogen atoms. In this stage two ATP molecules are added. The linking reaction occurs in the mitochondria of the cell. NAD+ and pyruvate come together to form NADH and an acetyl enzyme. The Krebs cycle involves removing hydrogen atoms from the acetyl coenzyme in order to form four molecules of ATP. Carbon then combines with oxygen, creating carbon dioxide. Electrons are unconstrained and move towards the electron transport chain because of NADH. These electrons go through the electron chain until it finds an oxygen atom, where water is formed then released. ATP molecules are created because of the energy released by the electron. In this stage 32 molecules of ATP are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Compressions In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales to communicate moral lessons of his time that still influence society today. The Canterbury Tales is a story of a pilgrimage of twenty nine characters to the Canterbury Cathedral. On the way, each character had to tell two tales as well as two on the way home. These tales provided entertainment for the characters on their trip. The tales are told by the narrator, and his viewpoints on the characters reflect Chaucer s opinions towards the characters. The tales that each character tells are each unique to each person, but through analyzing them further it is seen that the tales share many similarities. In both tales, the main character has a different outer impression which hides the Pardoner s and the Wife of Bath s true inner characteristics from society. Chaucer reveals their inner characteristics through the characters tales and how they present them. In the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer conveys a theme that although individuals set first impressions based on appearance, the reality of their true character is often masked by how they appear. The general and character prologue in The Canterbury Tales gives initial physical descriptions of the Wife of Bath and the Pardoner which helps reinforce the theme that appearance often masks reality. In the general prologue of the Wife of Bath, she is described at first as somdel deef which gives her a negative outer appearance which follows her throughout her description as an attractive and ... • 36. Anne Firor Scott On Seeing And Not Seeing Anne Firor Scott does not focus primarily on the Progressive Era, but instead on historical invisibility in her essay On Seeing and Not Seeing: A Case of Historical Invisibility . Historical invisibility in her treatise of the women s voluntary associations is what she aims to bring awareness for, she admits that there will always be partial vision to history and asks questions what historians like herself, Mowry, and Huthmacher need to do to limit this effect. Not limiting its effect will lead to readers being fed misleading information or crucial details about their subject matters. Since her essay is not centered on changing the public s view of the Progressive Era it does not have enough substantive information to answer if women s associations were the most notable reformers of this era. ... From the beginning of the 1800s, women s voluntary associations were few and did not address the prominent issues that future associations over the next century would handle; issues such as temperance, moral reform, education, needs of working women, antislavery, health, Americanizing Native Americans , conservation efforts, and international peacekeeping. Women were able to gain leverage for change over the period of the Civil War, which as it would for both World Wars generated financial and work opportunities that were otherwise not options for them as nurses, caretakers, and factory workers to name a few. After the Civil War associations spread throughout the country as women learned skills and gained experience from these associations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
