Lena Dunham Analysis
Lena Dunham, a privileged New York native and self proclaimed feminist, created a video sponsored
by Vanity Fair, a popular women s popular culture magazine, entitled 8 Thoughts on Feminism. Here
she discusses her personal views on feminism and its future in 2025, that has also has reached over
25,000 views on Youtube. Dunham, although known mostly for her performances in Girls, is also
infamous for her outrageous viral pictures that often include her posing in seemingly unflattering ways
that challenge fat shaming and hegemonic beauty standards. While she often posits herself through
queer, physical expressions and fashion choices that blatantly critique hegemonic femininity, Dunham
continues to benefit from heteropatriarchal society as a upper class, heterosexual, cisgender, able
bodied white woman. She has most recently become a social icon for basic ... Show more content on

Such as in Dunham s fictional television series, her real life ideals, as expressed in her publicized
comments and actions, are directly reflective of postfeminism, white feminism, and ultimately, anti
feminism. Dunham s video begins with an introduction photo of socialite, Kim Kardashian who is
followed by a swarm of catering men in suit who shield her from the rain with an umbrella. These
weather condition seem to leave Kardashian unbothered, based on her unconventional attire, choosing
to wear a curve hugging dress, rather than rain boots and a jacket. Dunham perhaps selected this photo
as the introduction to her interview because Kardashian s demeanor exudes independence, inner
strength, and confidence, all ideal, feminist qualities, despite her unusual surroundings. Nevertheless,
this act is replicative of a postfeminist fallacy, defined as a neoliberal perspective that assumes
feminism has essentially achieved its goals, and so is no longer needed (Weitz, 2016,

Major Factors That Contributed To Xiaomi Become A Leading...
What are the major factors that contributed to Xiaomi becoming a leading smartphone company in the
PRC?
Xiaomi was growing rapidly in the last five years in which it has become the world s third largest
smartphone company. Xiaomi has a great understanding of its customers and the market; therefore, it
was able to attract many customers and create high quality products. One of the major factors that
contributed to Xiaomi s success was the mobile internet and e commerce strategies. Xiaomi grew into
a mobile internet and e commerce company that contract manufactures smartphones and compatible
devices designed to offer a complete customer experience. The second major factor was Xiaomi s
world class team. Xiaomi contained a world class team of Chinese executives and one prominent
western executive, with collective experience at top foreign IT firms like Google, Microsoft,
Motorola, and Yahoo. Its executive team complemented Lei Jun, Xiaomi s driven founder and CEO,

The Law And Ethics Of An Mba Program
More institutions of higher education are adding law and ethics curriculum to the lists of required
courses. After the legal and ethical scandals that occurred at companies such as Enron and accounting
firms such as Arthur Andersen, as well as the Ponzi schemes of Bernie Madoff, this seems like a
natural course of action for most colleges and universities. Because society uses law and ethics to
mold business, it makes sense to teach these in institutions of higher learning, but should these classes
also be taught in high school when young adults are getting their feet wet in the world of business? It
is important to study law and ethics in an MBA program because a comprehensive set of laws is not
enough, ethical relativism and religion lessen the public s ability to define right and wrong, and
elementary schools only teach obedience to laws and rules.
While society enforces thousands upon thousands of rules and laws, understanding the ethics and
reasons behind enactment of the laws are still missing in society. Immanuel Kant said it best in the
Categorical Imperative when he said, All maxims as proceeding from our own [hypothetical] making
of law ought to harmonize with a possible kingdom of ends (Kant, 2009, p. 75). If ethics is not being
taught in conjunction with lawmaking, then people will never understand the reasoning behind the
creation of the laws under which they must live. Ethics and law are deeply intertwined law is founded
on the ethics of the people writing

William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar Essay
Power is a highly coveted mistress. She is sought after by senators, presidents, kings, and emperors.
Most of them willing to do whatever it takes to get her. The history of this world is overrun with
conflict and war as different parties compete for her hand. There are those that will obtain her by
physical force on the battlefield, while others seduce her to their side through sweet persuasion.
However, the act of obtaining power is nothing compared to the work of keeping her. Power is an
unfaithful mistress, in need of constant wooing. In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, the battle for
power is always in a state of flux, constantly changing hands. Though the players in this play
sometimes use physical force to obtain power, it is persuasion and manipulation that have the strong
hold on her. Through close examination of this text, the use of persuasion and manipulation in
obtaining and maintaining power will be explored. When the play first opens there is a celebration in
the streets because Julius Caesar has proven victorious over Pompey in battle. However, this action is
quickly rebuffed by tribunes Flavius and Marullus, who are quick to remind the plebeians that they
once loved Pompey:
O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Rome,
Knew you not Pompey? Many a time and oft
Have you climbed up to walls and battlements
To towers and windows, yea, to chimney tops,
Your infants in your arms, and there have sat
The livelong day, with patient expectation,
To see great Pompey

Chinese Immigrants In Australia In The 19th Century
Making a Nation
In the 19th Century, there was a significant increase of Chinese immigrants in Australia. By 1861, the
Chinese community was already thriving, making up nearly 7% of the Victorian population. During
this period, the Chinese came to Australia in search of Gold. The early settlers didn t accept the
Chinese because they were different in appearance and cultural practices, so they were forced into
different camps.
In 1788, the Europeans were the first white people to set foot on Australian soil. They came to
Australia to colonise the country and from then on, the land became theirs. The Europeans were
different to the Chinese in many ways. Their history and cultural religion were very different to the
Chinese. The reasons for coming to Australia were different, the Chinese came to find a better life,
whereas the Europeans came to colonise the land.
Regarding the cost of licences, the Chinese and the Europeans experienced similar hardships. Both the
New South Wales and Victorian governments charged the Chinese and the Europeans thirty shillings
for a miner s licence. They were also required to pay tax to work on the Goldfields. Correspondingly,
most of the easy alluvial Gold had started to run out and big companies were moving in establishing
deep hard rock mines that put the small alluvial miners out of business.
Both the Chinese and the Europeans experienced the same condition as the police hunted down miners
without a licence and were often brutal, corrupt,

Mp Machinery (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Mpm) Is A One Stop...
MP Machinery (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (MPM) is a one stop machinery company in East Malaysia
where it is known as one of the state s leading machinery corporation in supplying pumps,
machineries and various engineering products. After conducting the interview, I have understood
growth in MPM as increasing in employment and business sales/profit as well as involving in
government projects within Malaysia. MPM has been growing sustainably for 28 years employing
around 150 staff with the aim of growing 5 10% profit each year. MPM has been growing organically
where profits have been reinvested to increase capacity such as the building of new stores (Allen,

According to Wickham (2006) process of growth model, MPM would be looking into financial growth
as the company focuses commercial activities such as profitability, sales and turnover. Besides,
strategic growth will be taken into account when competing with its competitors in its market industry
in creating or selling new products when compared with their competitors. After implementing the
theories in MPM, it helped me understand MPM s market analysis of rivalry among existing
competitors. Applying Churchill and Lewis model in MPM, it can be said that it is in between Stage
III: Success and Stage IV: Take off, as it has its own brand and have been sustained its business for
over 25 years (Churchill and Lewis, 1983). Over the years, MPM has expanded to more branches of
offices which shows that the company has attained economic health and has sufficient size to ensure
economic success. After applying frameworks and theories, it can be stated that in terms of growth in
a company, I have learnt that it can be applied and indicated differently in distinctive companies. To
exemplify, growth can mean increase in staff employment in a company whereas it can also mean
increase in production volume. However, it is clear that growth must be planned, organised, activated
and controlled (Nieman and Pretorius, 2004). In other words, growth can be either sustaining its
business in the industry or expanding its business. Having to explore

Swift s ‘Gulliver s Travel’ and Voltaire s ‘Candide’ Essay
Swift s Gulliver s Travel and Voltaire s Candide
Swift s Gulliver s Travel and Voltaire s Candide are typical literature works during the Enlightenment
period. Both authors use satire in their works. Satire is literary form which means irony. Therefore,
they have some similarities. They both want to expose human vices through satiric tone. Due to
different personal styles, there are many differences between two novels.
Two novels use satire to criticize human weakness. In Gulliver s Travel , Swift makes up a horse
society Houyhnhnm and a brutal animal Yahoo. Gulliver has to admit that human beings are yahoos
after a series comparison between human and yahoo. Vices of human beings are exposed by the Swift

Ironically, Gulliver insists to refuse his status of yahoo, the procedure of Gulliver s acceptation to the
status of yahoo is under a depressed atmosphere. When Gulliver backs home, he is still struggling to
be a rational creature in his mind which is Houyhnhnm or to be a corrupted creature which is yahoo.
Swift s sharp criticism makes the novel isn t as fun as Candide . However, it makes reader think over
the purpose of his criticism.
On the contrary, Voltaire s Candide is full of black humor. Although Candide goes through a lot of
ridiculous circumstances and suffers a lot, the unexpected content makes his voyage funny. In Gulliver
Travel , the observation of horse society and comparison between yahoo and human are important
components of Swift s satire. In Candide , every character expresses the satiric tone of Voltaire.
Pangloss, teacher of Candide, always believe that Everything is for the best in this best of all possible
world , escapes from death several times. He still insists his philosophic thinking which exactly brings
him in trouble. Cunegonde s brother constantly refuses Candide marry with his sister even Cunegonde
isn t beautiful anymore. Other characters like Cunegonde, the old lady, Martin, they all have been
through a lot of misfortune circumstances. Each character has its own function to from Voltaire s
satire. Volvaire uses his tone of mockery to present a ridiculous

How Lewis Structures Are Constructed
Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone pairs
of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are constructed.
The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons
that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1 in
hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Non
valence electrons are not expressed.
Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms in
the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there are only
two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity.
After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of surrounding
atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has eight electrons in
its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all single bonds and ... Show

Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up with
only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need eight
valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons around them
instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra electrons. SF4 is an
example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10 valence electrons. This is
only possible with atoms that are in the third row of the periodic table or lower with unfilled d
orbitals. Therefore, exceptions can only occur in molecules that have odd numbers of electrons or with
atoms that have only the first energy level or empty

Immature And Mature Love
In The Art of Loving , the difference in immature and mature love is discussed. In the former, love is
indicated by craziness while in the latter, it is a state of productiveness with elements such as care,
respect and responsibility (Formm, 1989).
Immature love says I love you because I need you whereas immature love says I love you because I
need you . (Insert reference) Immature love is more or less based on emotions and couples are
attracted to each other s physical appearance more than their personality. After having read their

Intimacy refers to a feeling of attachment, closeness, warmth and understanding between the couple.
Passion refers to physical arousal and desire, sexual longing and a strong emotional need. Lastly,
commitment refers to the decision to denote oneself and maintaining it. Although the two have been
together for only 8 months now, they have exhibited the different elements at different points. One
good example is the point of spending time together at different stages. Samuel is present during her
stressful period like exams. All he does is grabs some snacks for her and reads a book while she
studies. This displays the commitment and dedication to the relationship. Although they have become
close and are connected emotionally, they have yet to become passionately involved or think about the

Canad A Case Of Good Governance And Good Luck
2008 Canada: a Case of Good Governance and Good Luck The global financial crisis of 2008 shook
the pillars of economic institutes of nations all over the world including Canada. The crisis caused the
financial meltdown of various global financial organizations such as the Lehman Brothers brought the
US economy to its knees with matters being exacerbated by the burst of the sub prime mortgage
bubble. Financial markets including various banks went into bankruptcy with governments having to
chalk out large bailout packages and the reserve parachute of financial reforms and regulations to stop
the free fall of financial institutions. Asian Markets had huge amounts of savings that they were
itching to spend buying up US government bonds which resulted in a fall in interest rates, as a result
of lowered interest rates bankers began to lend to creditors with poor banking histories, this lending
was backed by credit rating agencies who were far too generous in their triple A rating of credits that
were in actuality far more highly exposed. Banks as a result began betting on themselves with
borrowed money, there was an underlying assumption that the property bubble would remain steady or
rise and thus banks did not keep enough margins on their balance sheets to cover for losses and this
was exactly what happened. As the property bubble exploded there was an acute fall in prices and a
proportional rise in foreclosures. At this point banks had to revalue their assets and sell at fire

American Directness and the Japanese Essay
American Directness and the Japanese
American and Japanese ways of speaking are so different that they often cause culture shock to both
Americans and Japanese who visit each other s country. Most Japanese who come to the United States
are at first shocked and have a problem with the American direct way of speaking.
Culture shock occurs because most Japanese cannot easily escape from the formula politeness=
indirectness. Compared to the American way of speaking, Japanese speak much more indirectly.
Directness is considered a form of impoliteness in Japan. Therefore, when we want to be polite, we
speak and act very indirectly. For example, we seldom say, I ll go to a bathroom, except when we are

Japanese are shocked by American unreserved behavior because the American way of speech is very
direct. They do not hesitate to express what they want since directness is honesty for them. They will

presence of guests say, I m hungry or Can I have another glass of juice? On the other hand, we can

At the same time, Japanese are shocked because their way of being polite no longer holds good in the
United States. If we answer, Uh..., yes. I m hungry but only a little, our host or hostess may postpone
the meal. Later, Americans around me might notice my stomach rumbling and wonder why I did not
tell the truth.
Similarly, Japanese may be surprised to hear Americans say No often because Japanese tend not to say
No. We usually express our reluctance to accept an offer by subtle facial and verbal expressions
because we want to avoid making people feel bad by refusing directly. For instance, a Japanese

Flexibility Training Benefits
Flexibility is defined as your body s ability to move through a full range of motion. Flexibility training
is an integral part of any conditioning program. While athletes stand most to benefit from flexibility
stretching exercises, anyone seeking to keep their bodies flexible or those seeking to improve their
posture will also stand to gain from a flexibility training program. This is primarily due to the fact that
the stretching exercises serve to balance muscle groups that have been overused in any exercise or
physical activity or have become overused as a result of bad posture or bad work habits like slouching
while typing in front of the computer.
Flexibility training offers many immense benefits. It does not only make your joints more ... Show

This is because regular stretching exercises results in decreased resistance in tissue structures. This
results to a decrease in your chances of being injured since the limb is able to move further before it
gives in to any injury. Flexibility training exercises, especially dynamic stretches usually done before
any workout loosens muscles and addresses the problem of muscle tightness which has long been
associated with increased risk of muscle tears.
Another benefit that can be gained from a flexibility training program is reduced muscle soreness.
Stretching exercises, especially static stretches that are done after any workout regimen, significantly
reduces muscle soreness you experience post workout. Static stretches are performed by slowly and
gradually controlling muscle elongation for about 30 seconds for as far and long as you comfortably
can.
Another benefit of a flexibility training program is improved posture. Stretches aid in the realignment
of soft tissue structures to balance the muscles and improve how you carry your body. With constant
practice, proper posture becomes a natural part of movement and comes with no

Bob Dylan And The American Civil Rights And Anti War...
Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer songwriter,
artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest,
although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation.
Nevertheless, early songs such as Blowin in the Wind and The Times They Are a Changin became
anthems for the American civil rights and anti war movements. After he left his initial base in the
American folk music revival, his six minute single Like a Rolling Stone altered the range of popular
music in 1965. His mid 1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the
United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk
movement. Dylan s lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary
influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning
counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody
Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres.
His recording career, spanning 50 years, has explored the traditions in American song from folk,
blues, and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music,
embracing even jazz

disease. Myeloma bone disease associated morbidities include bone pain, pathological fractures,
spinal cord compression and hypercalcaemia. Bony lesion in myeloma is lytic in nature and
pathological fracture is a frequent complication. Spinal cord compression is a complication of
pathological fracture of spinal column or extension of vertebral body myeloma lesion. Imaging
techniques are essential to identify the extent of intramedullary and extramedullary foci, and to
evaluate disease progression. A multidisciplinary approach is needed in the management of spinal
involvement in multiple myeloma.

Summary Of Epilogue To Roslin s Room
Cersei stopped in front of Roslin s door and hesitated for a moment, debating internally whether it
would be better to just go back to her own room and think of some excuse to tell Roslin later or not.
She would probably notice that something was wrong with her mom if she saw Cersei. But despite of
her fears, the blonde decided she wouldn t run away this time.
Cersei inhaled and exhaled deeply to try to calm her nerves but it only made things worse, and this
irritated her. Fuck that... she cursed under her breath before finally push the door and step into Roslin s

Analyse The Effects Of Machismo
Hello Professor Classmates;
The exposure to ideas from other ways of living can broaden my perspective and open my imagination

the aggressiveness in me and having a competitive nature. I ve always seen myself as a strong woman,
so to be looked upon as a sexual object to my husband and too overlooked his infidelities because he
chooses to be a conqueror would cause a magnitude of conflict that would end in divorce. Having to

Ai Weiwei s Dropping A Han Dynasty Urn
Totalitarianism is a form of government in which the government has total control over the people
while the people have no individual rights.China s government exemplifies a totalitarian government
because of multiple reasons. These include that China today has controlled speech and press by
blocking and controlling all news media, art, and literature. China has also used fear to control people
by having secret police that support the government and are not protectors of the people. Propaganda
is also used to persuade people in order to gain pride in their nation and the greatness of it with biased
words and images set across everywhere. And lastly the Chinese totalitarian government uses

Herbal Treatment For Depression Essay
Natural treatments for depression entailing the use of herbal therapy are becoming commonplace with
the onset of herbal medicine in the mainstream of medical administration.
Renewed Attention To The Herbal Approach
Depression and anxiety treatments are gaining new, albeit actually traditional, grounds. Herbal
medicines used for the treatment of depression are becoming widely used. For example, St. John s
wort is gaining renewed and increased attention in its practical use to treat depression. Another herb,
the hypericum is even now beginning to overtake other pharmacological medications in the use for
depression treatment.

Take caution in using natural or herbal treatments especially when the depressed patient is pregnant or
is planning to be pregnant soon.
Adverse Reactions to be Expected
Going herbal and natural does not mean that these treatment options do not have adverse effects.
Moreover, mixing natural or herbal treatments for depression in combination with other
antidepressants may have different adverse reactions. So take note again if you are currently or
recently have been taking pharmacological medications or substances like MAOIs or monoamine
oxidase inhibitors, SSRIs or selective serotonin re uptake inhibitors, tricyclic medications,
medications for losing weight, drugs for Parkinsons disease, barbiturates and tranquilizers,
antihistamines, alcohol, IV drugs, and antibiotic medications.
Natural treatments for depression may or may have not undergone extensive testing and trials in
clinical environments. Consult your doctor at all times in the use of these natural treatments. These
herbal treatments must be taken only after your doctor s evaluation and prescription. Moreover, doctor
s instructions must be strictly adhered to.
Another Natural Option: Condition Yourself

My Experience In College Life
As a student, I can tell why some of the frustrations occur when the conscientious seldom does not pay
off adequate. No wonder thirty percent of first year college students drop out. Every second of college
life feels intimated since the future of student mostly rely on how they manipulate the time. I wonder
if I can keep myself into college, or will I be counted as one in those thirty percent of first year college
students. I don t want to be that statistic; I won t be. The present that I hold highlights my past, where
life granted me one last chance to change my destiny.
When I was eleven years old, my family and I lived in Nepal as refugees. Also, our house, as well as
others, was constructed from bamboo and thatch. It wasn t robust enough to sustain heavy wind, fire,
or rain. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, also known as UNHCR, helped by
contributing rations such as rice, beans, oil, salt, and sugar. Every month, the provision was allocated
equally among the people in the camp warehouse. One day, on the way back from school, I noticed
my grandmother waving her hand at me from far away. I ran straight to her leaving friends behind to
play soccer. Eventually, I sat beside her as she continued her conversation with a neighbor aunt.
I heard my grandmother consider that our ancestors had a better life, and we weren t meant to be in a
refugee camp. In Bhutan where I spent half of my life, she said, we regularly farm and raise cows for

The Causes And Effects Of Indirect Rule In Nigeria
Indirect rule is a system that was put into place by imperialist who did not have the manpower to rule
a country by force. It is an ingenious system that allowed countries to come into Africa and impose
their rules and influences over the natives without fully taking over. According to W. R. Cocker, Sir
Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was
to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered
the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did,
as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the
land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be
respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule
which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots
of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came
out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They
thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values. Religious
groups cut them off from making anymore scriptures. To which they referred to them as the
interpretation of which was their own monopoly. Another criticism that came from

Essay on Remember the titans Informal Roles of Characters
Remember The Titans was a movie that was set in a very hostile time in our country. We were in the
middle of what I like to call a civil war. Although there were no battles or gunfights our country was
torn in half. There was an issue dealing with race in the United States. The movie, Remember the
Titans is based on actual events that occurred in the year 1971. Mainly on the integration of a school
called TC Williams High School. When the school was integrated the old football coach, Coach Yoast,
was let go and a black coach Herman Boone was hired on. The main plot of this movie is regarding
the coaching change in the school and the 1971 football season the TC Williams Titans have. nbsp;

Leadership is shown in many ways in the movie and leadership is represented through main
characters. Coach Boone first of all represents the entire black community overcoming the oppression
that they have experienced through all of the years. He exhibits the determination that is inside all of
the players to win the state championship nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Of course the coach is going to
be the team leader but the kids also need a peer to step up and be a leader. In a not so informal role
Gerry Bertier rises to the challenge and establishes himself as the team leader. He shows us this a few
times in the movie. Once when he approaches one of the other players, Julius Campbell, and asks him
why he is playing so selfish. Gerry then listens to his teammate s opinion and acts accordingly to do
what is best for the team, because that is what leaders do, even if it mean calling out his best friend
and making him step it up. Gerry also represents the inspiration of the team because every time the
team is down he picks them up and brings them together. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Another
important role that is established by one of the players is the role of the magnet that finally brings the
black kids and the white kids together. This role is taken on by Louie Lastik. He takes this role when
he s the first one to approach the other black kids and make friends with them. He shows us his role
when he sits down net to the black kids

Once these individuals are released from jail, many of them have a difficult time assimilating
successfully back into society. Often, they have limited resources, job skills, housing, or money. There
is a stigma associated with jail and prison. With nowhere to turn and often very few resources these
individuals end up reverting back to the life of crime. For many of them, they are out of options and

User Authentication in Computer Security
1 INTRODUCTION
User authentication is a most important component in most computer security. It provides user with
access control and user accountability. As we know there are many types of user authentication
systems in the market but alphanumerical username/passwords are the most common type of user
authentication. They are many and easy to implement and use. Due to the limitation of human
memory, most users tend to choose short or simple passwords which are easy to remember. Surveys
show that frequent passwords are personal names of family members, birth date, or dictionary words.
In most cases, these passwords are easy to guess and vulnerable to dictionary attack. Today users have
many passwords for personal computers, social networks, E mail, and more. They may decide to use
one password for all systems to decrease the memory burden, which reduce security. Graphical
passwords is harder to guess or broken by brute force. If the number of possible pictures is sufficiently
large, the possible password space of a graphical pass word scheme may exceed that of text based
schemes and thus most probably offer improved security against dictionary attacks. The use of
graphical password methods is gaining awareness because of these advantages. Graphical passwords
were originally described by Blonder. In his description, an image would appear on the screen, and the
user would click on a few chosen regions of it. If the correct regions were clicked in, the user would

Batman Monologue
See I m not a monster...I m just ahead of the curve . After giving Batman a monologue about how
Gotham City will eventually betray him, the psychotic Joker tells him how he knows this will happen.
This one quote, from my favorite movie (The Dark Knight), has changed my outlook on life and its
shape as a whole. Normally, it wouldn t be the best idea to gain inspiration from perhaps the most
notorious fictional villain in history, but this quote, in particular, has a much deeper meaning than
shallow self validation.
To fully understand the quote, the context must first be understood. The Joker s elaborate plan to cause
chaos in Gotham City involves getting caught by police, interrogated by Batman, and then
subsequently blowing up the station. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In-Yer-Face Theatre Scene Analysis
It offends today, but we look harder and we know, it will not offend tomorrow.
Having commented upon how the In Yer Face term came to be and how the phrase changed over time,
it will be mentioned at this point how this theatre scene developed its place since it was first
recognized by the public.
In yer face theatre always shocks audiences by its language and images; unsettles them by its
emotional frankness and disturbs them by its questioning of moral norms. Most in yer face plays are
not interested in showing events in a detached way and allowing audiences to speculate about them;
instead, they are experiential they want audiences to feel the extreme emotions that are being shown
on stage.

Empiricism And Existentialism
The simplest definition of the word philosophy is the study of knowledge. The three texts of
Empiricism by unknown, Existentialism by unknown, What is Philosophy? by unknown, and
Existentialism as Philosophy by Fernando Molina all incorporate the history and subtopics that tie in
with Philosophy. Philosophy was originally used by the Greeks which was defined as the pursuit of
knowledge for its own sake, and comprised ALL areas of speculative thought, including the arts,
sciences and religion (What is Philosophy). Since Philosophy is such a large and extensive topic to
cover, it is easier to understand when it is broken off into individual sections. The two sections that
will be focused on are empiricism and existentialism. Empiricism derives from the Greek word for
experience and from the Roman word of empiric , which is a physician whose skill comes from
experience. Empiricism encompasses the idea that all knowledge is gained from self experience. In the
text Empiricism the author wrote It emphasizes the role of experience and evidence, especially
sensory perception, in the formation of ideas, and argues that the only knowledge humans can have is
a posteriori (i.e. based on experience). This idea supports why babies learn so much when they grow
up; they are starting to learn and experience new things for themselves. In a modern day context, it
also explains why humans learn so much from their mistakes, even if one person saw another person

O.J. Simpson, born Orenthal James Simpson, was born on July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California.
At the age of 2, he contracted rickets, which left him bowl legged and pigeon toed. At the age of 5, his

where he would go onto break records. This would lead to O.J. being recruited to play college football
which he went on to play for the University of South Carolina. While at USC, O.J. set many records at

Pre-literacy and Modern Vestiges
Pre literacy and Modern Vestiges
For many years, the conventions and existence of epic poetry from the pre literate age were explained
as repositories for information. A well known story, usually involving a hero that embodied the virtues
of the society who told the story, engages in battles, quests, etc. As the epic is spoken to an audience,
the hero s actions and the way they are described impart the audience with information and teachings.
The information the listeners received is thought by some to be analogous to a modern day textbook
lesson, in which students learn mathematics, grammar, and law, all by the written word. So is the
contention of Homeric scholar Eric A. Havelock. As Hobart and Schiffman state in Orality and the ...

The specific words sung are more attuned to the metrical nature of the music than they are apt tools
for imparting the singer with specific knowledge about a single battle. The Star Spangled Banner is an
example of modern commemoration. If we were to read it as it was originally written, as a poem, then
we would probably think of it as a series of images describing a naval assault on an American fort, and
as a singular, historical event. The poem s lines would become information. Yet in song form this is
not the case. The point of the song is not for each individual to remember a certain night in American
history; the point is for a group of singers to remember the notion of a nation, more specifically, the
United States.
Hobart and Schiffman theorize that each oral presentation of the Iliad was a different for its audiences
as the situations in which we might hear the national anthem. For instance, we sing the national
anthem at baseball games, but we also heard it after the World Trade Center was attacked on
September 11, 2001; besides being group events, these cases have little in common. The type of
memory that we use when sing the song together is the commemorative type.
Another example describing the differences in the concept of memory that Hobart and Schiffman refer
to can be found in computers. Memory on a computer describes how many tasks a computer can do at

nothing to do with individual cultures but rather develop due to specific circumstances. Violence is a
human experience that no culture is exempt from. The UN has finally, after four years of human rights

After the legal and ethical scandals that occurred at companies such as Enron and accounting firms such as Arthur Andersen, as well as the Ponzi schemes of Bernie Madoff, this seems like a natural course of action for most colleges and universities. Because society uses law and ethics to mold business, it makes sense to teach these in institutions of higher learning, but should these classes also be taught in high school when young adults are getting their feet wet in the world of business? It is important to study law and ethics in an MBA program because a comprehensive set of laws is not enough, ethical relativism and religion lessen the public s ability to define right and wrong, and elementary schools only teach obedience to laws and rules. While society enforces thousands upon thousands of rules and laws, understanding the ethics and reasons behind enactment of the laws are still missing in society. Immanuel Kant said it best in the Categorical Imperative when he said, All maxims as proceeding from our own [hypothetical] making of law ought to harmonize with a possible kingdom of ends (Kant, 2009, p. 75). If ethics is not being taught in conjunction with lawmaking, then people will never understand the reasoning behind the creation of the laws under which they must live. Ethics and law are deeply intertwined law is founded on the ethics of the people writing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of them willing to do whatever it takes to get her. The history of this world is overrun with conflict and war as different parties compete for her hand. There are those that will obtain her by physical force on the battlefield, while others seduce her to their side through sweet persuasion. However, the act of obtaining power is nothing compared to the work of keeping her. Power is an unfaithful mistress, in need of constant wooing. In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, the battle for power is always in a state of flux, constantly changing hands. Though the players in this play sometimes use physical force to obtain power, it is persuasion and manipulation that have the strong hold on her. Through close examination of this text, the use of persuasion and manipulation in obtaining and maintaining power will be explored. When the play first opens there is a celebration in the streets because Julius Caesar has proven victorious over Pompey in battle. However, this action is quickly rebuffed by tribunes Flavius and Marullus, who are quick to remind the plebeians that they once loved Pompey: O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Rome, Knew you not Pompey? By 1861, the Chinese community was already thriving, making up nearly 7% of the Victorian population. During this period, the Chinese came to Australia in search of Gold. The early settlers didn t accept the Chinese because they were different in appearance and cultural practices, so they were forced into different camps. In 1788, the Europeans were the first white people to set foot on Australian soil. They came to Australia to colonise the country and from then on, the land became theirs. The Europeans were different to the Chinese in many ways. Their history and cultural religion were very different to the Chinese. The reasons for coming to Australia were different, the Chinese came to find a better life, whereas the Europeans came to colonise the land. Regarding the cost of licences, the Chinese and the Europeans experienced similar hardships. Both the New South Wales and Victorian governments charged the Chinese and the Europeans thirty shillings for a miner s licence. They were also required to pay tax to work on the Goldfields. Correspondingly, most of the easy alluvial Gold had started to run out and big companies were moving in establishing deep hard rock mines that put the small alluvial miners out of business. • 10. How Lewis Structures Are Constructed Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone pairs of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are constructed. The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1 in hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Non valence electrons are not expressed. Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms in the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there are only two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity. After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of surrounding atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has eight electrons in its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all single bonds and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up with only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need eight valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons around them instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra electrons. SF4 is an example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10 valence electrons. This is only possible with atoms that are in the third row of the periodic table or lower with unfilled d orbitals. Therefore, exceptions can only occur in molecules that have odd numbers of electrons or with atoms that have only the first energy level or empty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The crisis caused the financial meltdown of various global financial organizations such as the Lehman Brothers brought the US economy to its knees with matters being exacerbated by the burst of the sub prime mortgage bubble. Financial markets including various banks went into bankruptcy with governments having to chalk out large bailout packages and the reserve parachute of financial reforms and regulations to stop the free fall of financial institutions. Asian Markets had huge amounts of savings that they were itching to spend buying up US government bonds which resulted in a fall in interest rates, as a result of lowered interest rates bankers began to lend to creditors with poor banking histories, this lending was backed by credit rating agencies who were far too generous in their triple A rating of credits that were in actuality far more highly exposed. Banks as a result began betting on themselves with borrowed money, there was an underlying assumption that the property bubble would remain steady or rise and thus banks did not keep enough margins on their balance sheets to cover for losses and this was exactly what happened. As the property bubble exploded there was an acute fall in prices and a proportional rise in foreclosures. At this point banks had to revalue their assets and sell at fire ... He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation. Nevertheless, early songs such as Blowin in the Wind and The Times They Are a Changin became anthems for the American civil rights and anti war movements. After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six minute single Like a Rolling Stone altered the range of popular music in 1965. His mid 1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement. Dylan s lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres. I wonder if I can keep myself into college, or will I be counted as one in those thirty percent of first year college students. I don t want to be that statistic; I won t be. The present that I hold highlights my past, where life granted me one last chance to change my destiny. When I was eleven years old, my family and I lived in Nepal as refugees. Also, our house, as well as others, was constructed from bamboo and thatch. It wasn t robust enough to sustain heavy wind, fire, or rain. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, also known as UNHCR, helped by contributing rations such as rice, beans, oil, salt, and sugar. Every month, the provision was allocated equally among the people in the camp warehouse. One day, on the way back from school, I noticed my grandmother waving her hand at me from far away. I ran straight to her leaving friends behind to play soccer. Eventually, I sat beside her as she continued her conversation with a neighbor aunt. I heard my grandmother consider that our ancestors had a better life, and we weren t meant to be in a refugee camp. • 26. The Causes And Effects Of Indirect Rule In Nigeria Indirect rule is a system that was put into place by imperialist who did not have the manpower to rule a country by force. It is an ingenious system that allowed countries to come into Africa and impose their rules and influences over the natives without fully taking over. According to W. R. Cocker, Sir Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did, as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values. Religious groups cut them off from making anymore scriptures. To which they referred to them as the interpretation of which was their own monopoly. Another criticism that came from ... We were in the middle of what I like to call a civil war. Although there were no battles or gunfights our country was torn in half. There was an issue dealing with race in the United States. The movie, Remember the Titans is based on actual events that occurred in the year 1971. Mainly on the integration of a school called TC Williams High School. When the school was integrated the old football coach, Coach Yoast, was let go and a black coach Herman Boone was hired on. The main plot of this movie is regarding the coaching change in the school and the 1971 football season the TC Williams Titans have. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;During the movie we see ... In a not so informal role Gerry Bertier rises to the challenge and establishes himself as the team leader. He shows us this a few times in the movie. Gerry then listens to his teammate s opinion and acts accordingly to do what is best for the team, because that is what leaders do, even if it mean calling out his best friend and making him step it up. • 31. User Authentication in Computer Security 1 INTRODUCTION User authentication is a most important component in most computer security. It provides user with access control and user accountability. As we know there are many types of user authentication systems in the market but alphanumerical username/passwords are the most common type of user authentication. They are many and easy to implement and use. Due to the limitation of human memory, most users tend to choose short or simple passwords which are easy to remember. Surveys show that frequent passwords are personal names of family members, birth date, or dictionary words. In most cases, these passwords are easy to guess and vulnerable to dictionary attack. Today users have many passwords for personal computers, social networks, E mail, and more. They may decide to use one password for all systems to decrease the memory burden, which reduce security. Graphical passwords is harder to guess or broken by brute force. If the number of possible pictures is sufficiently large, the possible password space of a graphical pass word scheme may exceed that of text based schemes and thus most probably offer improved security against dictionary attacks. The use of graphical password methods is gaining awareness because of these advantages. Graphical passwords were originally described by Blonder. In his description, an image would appear on the screen, and the user would click on a few chosen regions of it. If the correct regions were clicked in, the user would be ... • 35. Empiricism And Existentialism The simplest definition of the word philosophy is the study of knowledge. The three texts of Empiricism by unknown, Existentialism by unknown, What is Philosophy? by unknown, and Existentialism as Philosophy by Fernando Molina all incorporate the history and subtopics that tie in with Philosophy. Philosophy was originally used by the Greeks which was defined as the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, and comprised ALL areas of speculative thought, including the arts, sciences and religion (What is Philosophy). Since Philosophy is such a large and extensive topic to cover, it is easier to understand when it is broken off into individual sections. The two sections that will be focused on are empiricism and existentialism. Empiricism derives from the Greek word for experience and from the Roman word of empiric , which is a physician whose skill comes from experience. Empiricism encompasses the idea that all knowledge is gained from self experience. In the text Empiricism the author wrote It emphasizes the role of experience and evidence, especially sensory perception, in the formation of ideas, and argues that the only knowledge humans can have is a posteriori (i.e. based on experience). This idea supports why babies learn so much when they grow up; they are starting to learn and experience new things for themselves. Pre-literacy and Modern Vestiges Pre literacy and Modern Vestiges For many years, the conventions and existence of epic poetry from the pre literate age were explained as repositories for information. A well known story, usually involving a hero that embodied the virtues of the society who told the story, engages in battles, quests, etc. As the epic is spoken to an audience, the hero s actions and the way they are described impart the audience with information and teachings. The information the listeners received is thought by some to be analogous to a modern day textbook lesson, in which students learn mathematics, grammar, and law, all by the written word. The specific words sung are more attuned to the metrical nature of the music than they are apt tools for imparting the singer with specific knowledge about a single battle. The Star Spangled Banner is an example of modern commemoration. If we were to read it as it was originally written, as a poem, then we would probably think of it as a series of images describing a naval assault on an American fort, and as a singular, historical event. The poem s lines would become information. Yet in song form this is not the case. The point of the song is not for each individual to remember a certain night in American history; the point is for a group of singers to remember the notion of a nation, more specifically, the United States. Hobart and Schiffman theorize that each oral presentation of the Iliad was a different for its audiences as the situations in which we might hear the national anthem. For instance, we sing the national anthem at baseball games, but we also heard it after the World Trade Center was attacked on September 11, 2001; besides being group events, these cases have little in common. The type of memory that we use when sing the song together is the commemorative type.
