Fourth Grade Art Classroom
Procedure In procedure section, researcher should describe how you are going to execute the
study from the moment you meet the study participant (Johnson Christensen, 2008, P. 95).
Before I conduct my research in an elementary school in south eastern part of America, I will
work as a voluntary art teacher in every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 3:30 pm for a fourth
grade art class in the beginning of the semester. In this process, students and I will get know
each other. After one month teaching in fourth grade art class, I will inform my students that I
will do an action research in this class. Then I will explain the research topic and research
question to students. Then I will give each students a set of consent form: participants consent
form and parent consent form. In the following week, I will collect these two consent forms by
myself. Then, I will mark down those will participant in research and those will not participant in
research. For those who will not participant in research, they will still have class with their
classmates in class. But their worksheets and artworks will not be collected for this research.
When finishing check the consent forms, I will conduct the lesson by myself in the following
weeks. I will teach topics in the class. Each topic will have be finished... Show more content on

fashion industry, I will show relevant images to students and provide them background
information. Then I will encourage students to consider why fashion industry would like to use
animal s fur to make cloth? Students will discuss their ideas in group and share with classmates.
Next, I will ask students to figure out solutions to solve this problem. I will ask them to draw a

The Importance Of Hazards
Hazards rise from two main sources such as natural (e.g. hydrological, climatological, oceanic,
meteorological and geological) and man made (e.g. political and technological). When both the
intensity and frequency of hazardous events are on the rise, the capacity of developing countries to
reduce their vulnerability to catastrophic events and point of confinement their financial
presentation is turning into a priority. When disaster strike, nations with limited economic
resilience not only suffered from the impacts on the human life, physical infrastructure, economic
assets and environment, but also effected to the nations development endeavour (Shook, 1997).

2.1 Objective
This study will focus to analyse the current insurance market trends related to disaster risk in
developing countries where majority of global economic losses experienced and the ways to
improve the risk financing practices and insurance market links to disaster risk management.
3. Disaster risk management and insurance industry
According to UNISDR (2009), disaster can be defined as a serious disruption of the functioning of
a community or a society involving widespread human, material, economic or environmental losses
and impacts, which exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own
resources. Disaster risk is the combination of likelihood of a catastrophic event occurring; the
exposure to the affected areas; and vulnerability of the affected communities or country (Global
Reinsurance Forum, 2014). The impacts of disaster risk include not only loss of life and physical
damages but also increase the potential outbreak of secondary hazards such as diseases and
negative effect on physical, mental and social wellbeing of human being, services, social, economic
and environment sectors. Disaster risk management include avoiding or mitigating the potential of
hazard occurrence and exposure and reducing the vulnerability level by strengthening the tangible
and intangible capacities.
There are three risk management techniques such as

A Rose For Emily Grierson Home Analysis
The Grierson household is an important key factor to A Rose For Emily. The theme of the
whole story is being unable to let go of the past. The house provides a place for Emily to
theoretically be frozen in time. The house symbolized the past, and it was sort of like a
sanctuary for Emily. The townspeople held the Grierson family to such a high standard, this had
a huge affect on Emily. As time progressed, society inevitably became more advanced. Emily
obviously wanted to remain in the past for as long as possible, so she isolated herself in her
home away from the world. The Grierson house was a safe haven for Emily. It was place for her to
avoid the present. This something turned her house into a prison. She had nowhere else to go but

Exciting Little Moments That Aren t Anymore
Exciting Little Moments That Aren t Anymore There were so many fun games that I used to
play as a kid. Games like lava monster involved us jumping and running from one part of a
playground to another and making sure we didn t get caught by the lava monster. Tag and freeze
tag got somewhat dangerous because if we got cornered by the person who was it, we would try to
make sure not to get caught ― for example, jumping off of the play structures to run away. Four
square, four corners, waterfall and jumprope were all classic games that we played. Jump rope was a
challenging game. We would sing songs as we jumped rope like Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum , Ice
Cream Soda , Miss Mary Mack , or Cinderella and try to get the jumper to miss and even add
different challenges to do while you were jumping rope like in Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear :
Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Turn around.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Touch the ground.
Nowadays, it s pretty much just sitting there with a piece of technology right in front of me. In
my free time, I used to frequently go outside to play at the park, with my rabbits, read, watch TV,
or play with legos. Now, I m usually spending my time indoors, making things, reading, surfing the
web or binge watching shows on my laptop. In middle school during lunchtime, some days my
friends and I would eat lunch and chill, walk and talk, or play games like four square. I recall my
friends rushing out the door when the bell rang to grab a ball, jump rope, or even a

Solar Power Of Solar Energy Essay
MOVABLE SOLAR POWER PLANT CUM SOLAR PUMP
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the solar power plant. More, particularly, this invention relates to a
movable solar power plant cum solar pump wherein the solar panels can be carried to one place to
another and can produce simultaneously solar electricity for solar pump as well as electricity for
various electrical equipment/apparatus.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
As fossil fuels put the planet in peril, hopes for future prosperity in the developing world now
rest on bold initiatives of use of renewable source of energy. Solar technology is evolving, costs
are coming down and grid connectivity is improving. The dream of universal access to clean
energy is becoming more real. This will be the foundation of the new economy of the new century.
Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun harnessed using a range of ever evolving
technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar architecture and
artificial photosynthesis. Solar panel refers to a panel designed to absorb the sun s rays as a
source of energy for generating electricity or heating. A solar powered pump is a pump running on
electricity generated by photovoltaic panels or the radiated thermal energy available from collected
sunlight as opposed to grid electricity or diesel run water pumps.
Solar energy, its conversion availability in each and every corner of the world is the main
challenge which is faced by not only the

The Colonial Settlements Of The Quakers
This paper will explore the history of the colonial settlements of the Quakers, who are also known
as the Society of Friends, who settled in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in colonial times. The
history surrounding the establishment and growth of the Quaker colonies of West Jersey and
Pennsylvania will be discussed. William Penns efforts in establishing the colonies of West Jersey
and Pennsylvaniawere paramount to Quakers immigrating to America. John Fenwick also played a
major role in founding the colony of West Jersey, which is now known as New Jerseyand the later
immigration of Quakers to Pennsylvania. The abolitionist efforts of the Quakers in their fight
against slavery, their equal treatment of slaves and the assistance that they provided to slaves
will also be discussed. Quakers provided shelter, financial support and harbored many slaves so
that they could avoid capture by their owners. Quakers were a large part of the abolitionist
movement in the colonies while slavery was legal. Many Quakers played a role in the
Underground Railroad, which assisted slaves in obtaining their freedom and avoiding capture. The
terms Quaker and Society of Friends are interchangeable and will be used throughout this paper
accordingly.

Music Has Been Around Since The Creation Of Humans
Music has been around since the creation of humans. It is a sound that to us humans is appealing
and it s something that we listen to when we are sad, happy, excited, mad, and etc. There are many
types of music, but when i look at the type of music that represents reality the most it is hip hop
and rap. Hip hop has been around since the 80s but it has become increasingly popular throughout
all of our community. Rap artists started out rappingabout where they were from and the life they
lived, and eventually it turned into rappers speaking about women, their riches and other social
things.
Hip hop however for some artists it was a way to express themselves and show us what reality
actually was for them. They spoke about things such as police brutality, black rights, natural
catastrophes, and many other things that we weren t exposed to, or didn t know about. This is
significant because music is heard by everyone, and if that person can make a song that sounds
appealing to people, that person could send a message to other people about things happening far
away from them. I imagine that rappers started talking about their struggles and it became
something that millions of people heard. I imagine that rap started out as story telling and evolved
to become music with people speaking about their feelings and much more.
Music has become heavily commercialized, and not just hip hop but in other genres as well.
People from all over the country are becoming rappers and not

The Pursuit Of Knowledge Depicted In Mary Shelley s...
When people think of Frankenstein, they usually think of a big scary monster. These people are
usually not educated, because if they were, they would know that Frankenstein was actually the
creator of the big scary monster . Frankenstein is a novel written by Mary Shelley that follows the
journey of a young scientist named Victor Frankenstein, who constructs a sentient creature in his
quest to create a living being. Mary Shelley portrays the themes of gender inequality, pursuit of
knowledge, and man playing God through her use of characters and events in Frankenstein.
The first major theme the novel illustrates is the oppression of women. This can be shown when
Walton expresses to his sister, Margaret, how he [has] no friend (Page 4).Through the feminist lens,

When Victor is in production of his monster, he says the creature s limbs were in proportion, and
[he] had selected his features as beautiful (Page 35). One of the characteristics that separate
Victor from God is how Victor only sees what s on the outside. He s astonished to perceive that
his creation is unattractive, and he can t see to figure out why. Maybe if Victor were actually a
God, his creature wouldn t be ugly. An alternative example of Victor s narcissistic thinking and
constant comparisons to almighty beings is when he states that a new species [will] bless [him]
as its creator and source including how many happy and excellent natures would owe their being
to [him] (Page 32). He really thinks he s the maker of a new species; a God. Though there are
some similarities between Victor and God, maybe Vicky Frank here should hop off his high horse
for a little bit and breath in fresh air called reality. To summarize this theme, Victor Frankenstein
basically has a superiority

The Concept Of Automation
Shrinking budgets, shortage of qualified personnel and growing workloads are shaping the
organization of clinical laboratories and the networks around them. As a result, merging and
consolidation of institutions is commonplace to take advantage of economies of scale and as a
result, laboratory automation has been in the rise connecting more sectors to tracks.
A key question to answer is what is the level automation system is right for each clinical
laboratory? Automation can improve lab s efficiency and help clinical outcomes. . However, each
center must value its own objectives of automation for each sector and define if they will require
modular type automation systems or automation.
The concept of a consolidated laboratory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this sense, a definition of automation would include the use of combined and computer set,

The automation of the laboratory, in the broad sense, affects all stages of the analytical process.
This means that new organizational approaches ranging from automation of individual processes to
reorganization projects and total automation. Between both situations there are an important variety
of scenarios that lead to models of laboratory.
Total laboratory automation (TLA) involves the integration of analyzers together with pre analytic
and post analytic. The work of a total automation system begins by managing the samples in an
input module that classifies and loads them in the carriers, centrifuges tubes, uncaps them and direct
them to the analyzers. The samples, after sampled by the analyzer are stored temporarily in
dedicated output location, from where they may be automatically recovered in case it rerun or
reflex testing in necessary.
The automation of clinical laboratories, when done properly and in accordance with to the needs of
each center, provides benefits that include an efficient increase in productivity, the possibility of
adding new analytical procedures without increasing the resources human, the centralization of
processes, reliable management of samples with full traceability, the standardization of the
analytical process, a greater guarantee of

Importance Of The Lower Class In A Connecticut Yankee In...
In A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court, written by Mark Twain, there exists a clear
incongruence between nobility and the lower class. While knights and landlords live lavishly
without a concern for acquiring basic necessities, peasants often struggle to feed themselves and
their families. With so few individuals holding such a large portion of the wealth, a vast gap
between the rich and the poor plagues society. For the most part, King Arthur remains completely
oblivious to these issues that the lower class faces every day. He ineffectively governs, failing to
consider the needs of all people. King Arthur s interactions with the lower class and his inability to
understand peasants lifestyles demonstrate the flaws of the monarchy system. Hank, on one hand,
wants to infiltrate the lower class so that he can observe first hand the effects of his innovations
on the lifestyle of the common man. In contrast, the king goes along simply for the purpose of
enjoyment. Hank narrates, When I told the king I was going out disguised as a petty freeman to
scour the country and familiarize myself with the humbler life of the people, he was all afire with
the novelty of the thing in a minute, and was bound to take a chance in the adventure himself
(Twain 150). King Arthur does not seem to understand the difficult lifestyle of the lower class. Any
individual who accurately perceives the hardships and burdens of the life of a peasant would not

Comparing The Message And Story Of The Gospels
The message and story of the Gospels share similar main ideas and themes between the four, but
some of them were written in an attempt to appeal their case to different audiences (Synoptic
Gospels). At their core, the Gospels are submersive, imperial (Euagellion Good News) and
religious. They were not written to harm Judaismin any way. Even though there may be separations
between the four Gospels (Synoptics vs. John), they share a key component within their texts which
is the life and ministry of Jesus. To coincide with that main idea, another key component that these
text share in one way or another is the Passion Story of Jesus, his trial, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Analysis Of Isolation In The Searchers
On the Threshold of Isolation The film The Searchers (1956) opens with the score s theme,
What makes a man to wander?/What makes a man to roam? The song s lyrics sets the premise
for a story of a man, Ethan Edwards, who battles questions of purpose and identity as he takes on
a multi year rescue mission. The film culminates with another verse from the song, A man will
search his heart and soul/Go searchin way out there/His peace of mind he knows he ll find/But
where, oh Lord, Lord where?/Ride away, ride away, ride away. Ethan completes his rescue
mission, but fails to locate peace of mind. His inability to securely locate a sense of belonging
and his loss of loyalties create the character s isolation The final scene, showing Ethan at the
threshold of a home, exemplifies Ethan s alienation. The Searcher s final scene shows Ethan on
the front porch of the Jorgensen s frontier house. The viewer can only see blackness within the
home. The light from the expanse of frontierland outside causes Ethan s shadow to mix with the
darkness of the home s interior. At the house s threshold, Ethan appears in contrapposto form, a
term associated with Classical sculptures when a person s weight is supported by only one leg. In
contrapposto, the arm opposite to the supporting leg is tense or engaged while the other arm hangs
freely. This position is meant to convey a natural, relaxed pose. But as a result of Ethan s engaged
arm holding the arm meant to be at ease, Ethan appears anxious

Pro Choice Of Abortion
Valeria Arauza
Ms. Cooney
English CP10
30 October 2017 Marissa recently found out she was pregnant, she was taking birth control pills
as contraceptives to avoid a pregnancy, but she knew she needed to take an emergency
contraceptive. Marissa was a pro life activist, meaning she opposed abortions. She, along with all
the other pro life supporters, never did accept that people had abortions. People felt the same on
the topic as her, they were all completely against abortions and shamed woman who had took part
in the practice. She did not even understand why people even thought about having abortions, she
believed only egotistical woman wanted them. Until she found out she was pregnant, but knew she
did not want to start a family with the man nor did she believe it was the right time, she knew it
was a mistake. Marissa was finally in their shoes, she finally understood. Being pro choice is
supporting legal abortions, but it is also protecting women s right to choose. Pro choice advocates
believe there is nothing wrong with ladies getting to choose to keep their unborn baby or not, and
there is nothing wrong with choosing to go through with an abortion. People should become pro
choice advocates because a woman should decide her reproductive health care, have access to birth
control and emergency contraceptives, and although it s believed abortions are dangerous, having
abortions is safer than giving birth.

Israel s Involvement In The 1967 June War
The nature of Israel s involvement in the 1967 June War can be aptly portrayed as both a prime
example of pre emptive self defence of the nation and as a rapacious campaign of self interested
opportunism. A central tenet of the Israeli position that Arab encroachment posed a danger to the
continued existence of Israelis that the short and long term consequences of Israel not acting
decisively were disastrous and had to be avoided. The partisan essence of the Six Day Waris
exemplified through the Arab narrative s empathetic denial that Israel acted defensively and their
testimony that the actual aggressor in this conflict was Israel. Primary source documents,
particularly declassified intelligence reports, provide a unique prism through which one can
deconstruct some of the underlying principles that steer Israel s justifications of war against its
foes. Likewise, the rejection of elements of Israel s narrative by esteemed Israeli s such as Yitzhak

Summary Of War Of The Rats
War of the Rats The Battle of Stalingrad, perhaps the single most critical and certainly one of the
bloodiest battles of World War II, is a great setting for a historical fiction story. His story centers
on a duel to the death between two men: Chief Master Sgt. Vasily Zaitsev, sniper, one of the best
of the Russian army, and a German SS colonel named Heinz Thorvald, the Nazis greatest
marksman. When Russian snipers led by Zaitsev begin to take a demoralizing toll of German
troops, picking them off like hunters shooting bears, the high command in Berlin dispatches
Thorvald to the battlefield with orders to accomplish a single task: kill Zaitsev. A deadly contest
ensues, with Robbins skillfully building up each of his protagonists as so deadly in their
murderous crafts as to make them feared as a person and well liked as a reader. It is not David
versus Goliath, but Hercules versus Zeus, the manly conflict of two equally matched and equally
remorseless adversaries. The story moreover is based, Robbins writes in the introduction, on two
real historical figures, though it is unclear whether the real Zaitsev and Thorvald engaged in the
kind of duel described in War of the Rats. Robbins opens with a German lieutenant named
Hofstetter who makes the mistake of tilting his head back to drink from a canteen and is dropped
by a single shot from a distant rifle. We, then, meet his killer, the Russian Zaitsev, who, before
World War II, was a hunter on the Siberian taiga, instructed

Comparing Killings And Greasy Lake
Stories may be different, but they all have at least one thing in common. Whether they have the
same theme or not, all stories are drawn together by interesting topics to keep the reader s attention.
The three short stories used in this comparison are Killings by Andres Dubus, Cons by Jess Walter
and Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle. Although written by different authors all stories deal
with killings and death.
The first story, Killings the main character Matt Fowler, goes on a rampage with Strout, the man
who murdered his youngest son Frank. In Cons the main character Kyle is constantly reliving the
memory of killing a teenage girl. The last story, Greasy Lake a group of dumb teenage boys think

Matt was afraid to kill Strout, Matt had not told Willis he was afraid he could not be alone with
Strout for very long, smell his smells, feel the presence of his flesh, hear his voice, and then

Kyle was the drunk driver who killed a teenage girl. He was never the same person after the
accident that forever changed not only his life, but the young girl s family s life. Kyle is
constantly reminded because the young girl s father sends him notes reminding him of what he
did. He feels guilty for ending a life. Lisa woke in the middle of the night and saw Kyle standing

to sleep because he would relive the night of the accident. He felt such agony within himself he
would reflect on his actions even by staring out a window. Not only did Matt and Kyle feel guilty,

Selecting The Female Reproductive System Essay
Selecting the female reproductive system to present was slightly awkward with me being a
male. In addition to having to have a presentation in a public forum having to provide visual aids
of the female reproductive system to my fellow classmates. I didn t look forward to that at all.
With that being said, I moved forward with my research on the pathologies of the female
reproductive system. I did not take long at all to recognize some familiar terminology related to
the pathological anomalies of the female reproductive system that I was familiar with.
Pathological terminology such as Fibroids (tissue overgrowth) and Endometriosis (pain in the
uterine lining). I had a few people close to me who have suffered from complications of those
pathological disorders which led to the loss of pregnancy. At different moments in our life at one
time or another will have someone close to us experiencing some issues of the female reproductive
system. Having the knowledge of the causes, symptoms, complications and treatments will enable
us to not only understand what they are going through but with that knowledge we can comfort
them as well. Having a working knowledge of the female reproductive system is beneficial in
many areas. In addition to helping those close to us, as a radiology technologist we can better assist
or patients.

What Is The Difference Between Dido And Aeneas
The Roman myth of Dido and Aeneas as told by Vergil in his Aeneid was redone by Henry Purcell
in 1689 in his opera Dido and Aeneas. Although the opera follows the overall storyline of the myth,
there are several differences between the retelling and the original myth. These differences affecting
the message the myths convey and reflecting the time period they were written in.
In Vergil s version Aeneasand the other refugees ships crash in North Africa due to a storm Juno
asks the king of the winds, Aeolus, to create. Venus, wanting her son Aeneas to be safe sends Cupid
to make Queen Dido of Carthage fall in love with Aeneas. Aeneas arrives at Carthage where Dido
offers them refuge, one day she and Aeneas go hunting and get caught up in a storm. Seeking
shelter, they end up alone together and succumb to their passions, causing Dido to break her
vow of chastity. A vow she made when her late husband, Sychaeus, was murdered by her brother
causing her to flee her home kingdom and found Carthage. The news of the affair spreads and is
heard by a neighboring king who the Queen had rejected due to her vow. In his anger the king
asks for Jupiter s help who sends Mercury to tell Aeneas that he needs to continue his journey to
Italy. Dido is angry with Aeneas leaving, but he tells her it is not his destiny to stay, in the end
she threatens to kill herself if he leaves. As Aeneas sails away, Dido curses him with her last
breath, the smoke from her funeral pyre rising into the sky where Aeneas can see it. Aeneas meets
Dido one last time when he travels to the underworld, but this does not come up in Henry Purcell s
retelling.
In Henry s version of Dido and Aeneas, Aeneas crash is not shown he simply appears in front of
Queen Dido and they profess their feelings for each other. The second difference in the myths is
that in this version there are witches and a sorcerer that work together to destroy the Queen and
Carthage who they hate. To do this they create a storm while Dido, Aeneas and their entourage are
out hunting forcing the party to return to the castle. Aeneas is the last to leave and before he joins
the party the witches send an elf disguised as Mercury with a message that the gods are angry with
him for his

Moving Near Volcanic Areas
Have you ever thought about possible questions when moving near volcanic areas? If I am
thinking of moving to a city near a volcano, I would consider what I could do if the volcano
erupts, how can I protect myself, what safety measures should I consider, I would inform myself
of everything necessary to avoid diseases. It is very important to be informed of how we can
react in case a volcano is active, imagine that I am in a city where there is an active volcano
about to erupt and what possible measures I should take. What problems could develop because
of volcanic ash? These are some problems that can develop because of volcanic ash: Respiratory
problems, because people inhale the particles detached from the ashes. Therefore, individuals who
are in good health will have discomfort in the chest, followed by dry cough, sore throat, breathing...

You should always keep in mind that an area of volcanoes is not always predictable when they
are going to erupt. However, you must have an evacuation route, so you do not waste time
searching for one. Try to follow the suggestions recommended by the authorities in charge.
When evacuating, you should not forget to protect your eyes with glasses or a damp towel
around your face, wear a long sleeved shirt to avoid skin irritations or burns, wear pants and use
a mouth mask that will prevent you from inhaling dust. In conclusion, I think you should always
consider what to do in cases where the volcano can erupt, be informed about what to do and
where to go in case it happens. I planted the idea that it can be done in a situation where the
volcano erupts more than anything to know what to do. But you should always ask when was the
last time it erupted, it is advisable to live near the areas of the volcanoes, how the changes in the
volcano are presented, how to know where to go if the volcano is active, etc. You always must be

The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day Essay...
The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day
Some readers see death, but when I read the story Today Will Be a Quiet Day by Amy Hempel, I
find it to be a light hearted, first hand account of people coping with transition. Even its location in
the table of contents under the heading Childhood and Adolescent (Barnet), implies that the story is
not about death at all. A newly defined family, one man, a boy and a girl, is faced with the aftermath
of divorce and explore among themselves the intricacies of life. The story gives us sublime but keen
insight into the transition and adjustments these three people make in this story.
The children s transition is marked by a rivalry, one that surfaces early on in the story and ... Show

There are many inferences to what it is like stepping into the life of a parent you don t live with but
once or twice a month.
This new family is only new in the sense of the father s having questions and doubts. Whether he
doubts his ability to read his children or has been absent too long is not indicated, but clearly this
family seems to be redefining their old relationship. The children handle it a bit differently by
speaking of topics that are old news (such as the boy s friend s suicide), telling jokes, and in the
case of the older sister, showing independence and maturity in deciding to drive her brother and
father home.
Sylvan Barnet comments that the father may be feeling that he may not know his children (1206).
As the story progresses the father gets his answers as many parents would in real life. The father is
an active listener and interrupts, defends or morbidly participates in the fun of his children s
conversation. At times he is reminded of how well he knows his children when he again looses his
appetite watching them eat fast. And once more when he quips, Who would adopt you? This means
that he is stuck with these wonderful children and they are stuck with him.
One of the more poignant moments in the story is when the daughter comes to realize her
gullibility in believing the family dog had escaped death to live a long happy life on a farm
(Barnet 1205). It is important to realize that this new little family is taking care of

Double Cost Of Protein
Their reasoning behind this is that due to the fact that muscle is made of protein, that a higher
intake of protein will increase muscle mass growth due to the fact that muscles are made of protein
and a larger amount of protein intake will result in larger muscles if you are working out. Which
seems pretty logical, but there is not sufficient evidence to prove proteinworks.
Most protein extract is obtained from milk, eggs, soy, wheat and rice: a range of processed milk
proteins are used for different purposes such as increasing aerobic fitness, increasing muscle mass
and strength, even changing metabolic health and optimizing results of athletes, along with this

The Legend Of Subbanna Summary
The play is a monologue based on the legend of Veeranna who belongs to the chitradurga region of
Karnataka. Before its theatrical effectiveness in the play the legend is incorporated from Kannada
writer, T.R. Subbanna s (Knows as TaRaSu) novel, Hamsageethe (Swan Song) Published in 1952.
The title of the novel literally means the swan song of the protagonist, Venkatasubbayya whom
Subbanna inserts in the tale of Veeranna, the archaka of the Hidambeshwara temple. About the
legend narrated in Subbanna s version Aparna Bhargava Dharwadker writes in the Introduction to
his collected Play (Vol.II): The married priesthas passionately in love with a mistress to whom he
takes the offering form the temple after the evening prayers. One day the palegar (chieftain)
discovers a hair in the prasada and demands and explanation from Veerganna, who claims that the
hair belongs to god. Challenged by the chieftain to prove the truth of this claim, the priest in turn
challenges god to display hair or accepts his head in punishment, and enters a meditative trance to
the accompaniment of Venkatasubbayya s song. When the chieftain arrives the next day to expose
Veeranna s lie, the Shivalinga has indeed sprouted long silken hair, and when (urged by the singer)
he pulls out a tuft to test its authenticity, blood begins to ooze from the crown of the lingam.

On October 29, 1929 marks the official opening of the Great Depression. During 1933, the
unemployment rate in United State reached 25%; it was not until the second quarter of 1933 where
the US economy started to reclaim. President Franklin D. Roosevelt formed the foundation of the
New Deal within the First Hundred Days when he came into power. To determine the New Deal
Program s role during the Great Depression, the sources used in this investigation include: The
Great Depression and the New Deal by Robert F. Himmelberg, and Depression Decade: From New

During the famous First Hundred Days, the Emergency Banking Act was the initial to come out of
President Roosevelt s program. This measure empowered the government to close banks that were
closed to collapse and reopened when readied. With this new act, the general public was no longer
afraid and regained confidence in the banking system. The tendency to hoard cash diminished
rapidly, panicky withdrawals ended, money returned to checking and savings accounts, and the
banking system stabilized.
Despite the economic recovery caused by the First New Deal, the Great Depression continued. So
in 1935, Roosevelt launched the Second New Deal, this time more aggressive than ever. The
Second New Deal included Works Progress Administration(WPA) and National Labor Relations
Act or Wagner Act. Most of the measures released between 1935 1936 were leaning towards the
general public. This lead many business leaders perceived the Second New Deal s labor and work
relief policies as anti business. Particularly towards the Wagner Act, which established the National
Labor Relations Board (NLRB). This agency had the ability to protect workers rights from any
encumbrances. The board prohibited five unfair practices:
(1) interference with employees in the exercise of guaranteed rights; (2) financial or other support
of a company union; (3) use of hiring and firing to encourage membership in a company union or

Heather Rowley Thesis Statement
This paper is to discuss the thesis written by Heather Rowley as a Ph.D. paper. Her final thesis
was submitted to University of York in 2014 and its considered to be successful thesis regardless
the time constrains that she faced. In my critique, I will assess the theoretical frame work, research
methodology, contribution and key findings. In addition, I will discuss if Rowley was successful to
answer the key researchquestion: is ownership enough to secure employee engagement in
Employee Owned Organizations (EOCs)? I argue throughout this paper that Rowley has not
focused on the important factors affecting employee engagement, hence she was not able to give a
clear answer to her thesis main questions.

She has identified that there is a lack of studies to define employee engagement and employee
ownership which majorly conducted on private and public companies without looking to different
types of organizations. Also, there is no academic work has clearly studied the driving of
employee ownership to partially secure high engagement levels. Most of the studies exist focus
only on employee ownership separately and employee engagements separately. So the inductive
research theory that she has adapted is the basis of her new theory of the relationship between
employee ownership and their engagement. Rowley has argued that perhaps the philosophy of
falsificationisim might be usable in her paper as it takes available knowledge and then test with

The Patterns Of Teen Drug Abuse
A pattern that we ve seen erupt over the last couple of years is the habit of teenagers and young
adults falling prey to party drugs, there s been a sense of normalcy placed along with a pill popping
culture, you ll notice rappers almost romanticizing and influencing teenagers into experimenting
with prescription drugs. What most people don t take into consideration before consuming these
drugs is that most prescription opioids have addictive side effects, that when taken in long term
or copious amounts can cause the user to experience withdrawals and ultimately draw them back
in a continuous cycle. Most would say, why can t they just not take the drugs? Or claim it was
the users fault because they know better. While they are not entirely right, it s not wrong either.
Research shows that a large majority of teens will find themselves in a position where they will
be offered drugs before the age of 14 at a party, this decision will ultimately affect their life in the
long run, be it becoming a social outcast from their peers for not trying these drugs, or taking them
and developing an addiction that will surely harm their bodies before they ve truly became adults.
Teen drug overdose is an issue that dates back over multiple generations, with each finding their
own ways to get recreational highs. However, there was a significant increase in death from years
1999 to 2007 within age groups 15 19(1). As time goes on, higher percentages of teens experiment

Affordability At Walmart
The influx of the middle and upper class is exhibited through the amount of affordable housing
now available in neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis and Saint Paul. In 1998 11% of housing
in Minneapolis Saint Paul were densely gentrified neighborhoods, and with time this is increasing
(Wyly, et al). With higher earners entering a neighborhood, the higher the cost of housing is. One
way to measure affordability is comparing the median renter s income and their affordable
threshold of rent (usually 30% of their monthly income) with the percentage of available units that
this renter could buy in a neighborhood. For an area to be considered affordable, 50% or more of
units should be available for a median renter (CURA Housing Forum). In a University

Macbeth Guilt Essay
William Shakespeare s Macbeth is a tragedy in which the plot evolves in great accordance to the
guilt that the individual characters feel. The guilt starts with the planning and execution of the
murder of King Duncan. To this event Lady Macbeth and Macbeth react in different ways. They
both become guilty in some way or another but the guiltthey feel is comprised of different reasons.
It is due to their differences in character that they react in the ways they do. While it might not
seem like both of them become guilty after this event, when explored their actions show clearly the
guilt they feel.
When Macbeth and Lady Macbeth decide to kill Duncan they both have different reactions. Lady

Macbeth starts off as a brave man who is physically capable of a lot, but is mentally very weak.
Whereas Lady Macbeth is limited physically by her sex, but believes that she is mentally
stronger than Macbeth. As the play pans out we are able to make our own judgment on each
characters strengths and weaknesses. In the unsex me scene Lady Macbeth tells us that she
wants to be changed from being a weak woman so that she can replace Macbeth who is mentally
weak with her own mental strength in order to successfully become the king. After the killing of
Duncan Lady Macbeth accidently hints that she was unable to kill Duncan herself and at this
point shows her first signs of mental weakness. After this point they basically change places,
Lady Macbeth becomes and insignificant and weak character in the play, who spirals
downwards into insanity. She grows so ill that the doctor says there s nothing he can do to help
her. The disease, he says, is beyond his practice, and what Lady Macbeth needs is the divine (a
priest or, God), not a physician . On the other hand Macbeth steps up and plans for himself to
murder many more people as his mental strength has significantly grown. Lady Macbeth s
transformation from that of a powerful and unnaturally masculine figure into an enfeebled woman
reestablishes a sense of natural gender order in the play. In other words, Lady Macbeth is put in
her place,

Internet Crimes And The Internet
Introduction
The purpose of this research is to discuss about cybercrimes also known as internet crimes. The
researcher has taken help from a number of online sources and a few books as well. Firstly, the
researcher will discuss about cybercrime, how and when it came in existence. The researcher then
will categorize cybercrimes into 2 parts, cyber abuse and cyber attacks. This in turn has a few
subtopics to follow. And lastly, the researcher will discuss prevention from these kind of attacks.
Technology has been increasing so rapidly in the past fifteen years that it has increased the use of
computers in our daily lives and in the business sector. To keep pace with the rapid increase in
technology, industries such as banking, health, education etc. are very dependent on Internet for all
its activities.
However, what is Internet? Internet is the largest wide area network (WAN) that connects millions
of computers worldwide and it is easily accessible at any corner of the world.
Since the evolution of the Internet almost 20 years back, it has gradually changed and in turn
changed our lives as well and has left a great impact on our lives.
In the earlier times, Internet was only used to search for information but now it not only contains a
library of information but has also become a means of interacting and communicating with one
another and to be able to get new ideas. In simple words, it has become a necessity in our daily
lives. We are very much dependent on Internet for

The Theory Of Supply And Demand
When an individual wants a good or service they will go wherever they need to get that good or
service that they want. You never really think how it gets there or why there isn t any left. When
you go to the store to buy groceries and the price has went up you tend to get upset. Although,
when they go down you think to yourself that you better stock up. All of these changes occur
because of demand and supply. Demand and supply are the key components for the economy.
Kirzner (2000) states in his article: The theory of supply and demandis recognized almost
universally as the first step toward understanding how market prices are determined and the way in
which these prices help shape production and consumption decisions the decisions that make up not
shapes the prices for production and consumption of goods and services.
Demand
According to Moffatt Demand is the relationship between the quantity of a good or service
consumers will purchase and the price charged for that good . It is the want or need for a good
or service to be produced. The amount of a good at a certain price that an individual is willing to
buy is called quantity demand. Prices fluctuate for many reasons. When a price of a good or
service goes up or down it is called law of demand. If the price rises, the quantity demanded goes
down. If the price goes down, the quantity demanded goes up. This being that everything else is
equal. Also known as ceterius paribus. The two have an inverse effect on

Fluid Responsiveness Study
Introduction Prediction of fluid responsiveness has been investigated to prevent fluid overload
because excessive peri operative fluid administration can be a contributory factor to
postoperative complications, prolonged length of hospital stay, organ failure and mortality1 4.
Mini fluid challenge is a strategy to assess fluid responsiveness based on a fractional change in
stroke volume (SVfc) after a small loading dose of fluid. Theoretically, at a steep portion of the
Frank Starling curve, SVfc after fluid loading would be greater than at a plateau portion. Therefore,
greater SVfc after small fluid loading could indicate positive fluid responsiveness. Several studies
have shown that a mini fluid challenge could predict fluid responsiveness... Show more content on

The administration of a small amount of fluid is thought to have minimum adverse effects in
even non responders. Muller et al reported that a rapid administration of 100 mL fluid induced a
greater than 10% increase of subaortic VTI by Doppler echocardiography, which subsequently
predicted a 15% increase in VTI after a 500 mL of fluid administration in mechanically ventilated
and sedated ICU patients with acute circulatory failure5. Guinot et al demonstrated a greater than
7% SVfc measured by thoracic impedance cardiography after 100 mL of fluid administration was
a good predictor of a subsequent increase in SVfc in response to a 500 mL fluid loading in
spontaneously breathing patients under spinal anaesthesia6. Therefore, the mini fluid challenge can
be a clinically useful diagnostic method to predict fluid responsiveness in either mechanically or
spontaneously ventilated patients. The present study also showed the relatively high (r = 0.77)
correlation coefficient between SVfc3 and SVfc10, suggesting that the greater the increase in
SVfc3, the better the fluid responsiveness. SVfc3 greater than 5.8% measured by transthoracic
echocardiography also predicted fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated anaesthetised
dogs. All these results support the ability of the mini fluid challenge to predict fluid responsiveness
based on SVfc. However, the assessment of SVfc is challenging in routine practice because it
requires special and expensive equipment. Therefore, an alternative simple method to assess SVfc
would be

Roll Call Narrative
Weeks later, tired, cold, and hungry the Jews and I used every ounce of energy to get up for roll
call. As the officers were calling names, I noticed the new arrivals. One in particular stood out to
me; her name was Izabella. She was with her father and a littler sibling, but I couldn t tell if the
child was male or female. After roll the guard demanded us to clean up the whole camp,
including our barracks at once. After our rushed cleaning, orders were barked to get on the train.
We were headed to Buchenwald. We were forcefully thrown in, and the train slowly started to
crawl away. I looked over my shoulder to see my father, unconscious, on a pile of cold, dead Jews.
As we sat in silence, a quiet whimper reached my ears, and when I turned

Alexander The Great Short Story
Olympias told Alexander what had happened that morning. For the whole day, it buzzed around
in Alexander s mind. The following day, Alexander attended a symposium and recognized the
red wine he would drink when he was with the maenads. He drank a bit, and then some, and
them some more. Before Alexander knew it, he was in a daze. Dionysus appeared next to him,
though Alexander did not recognize him. Your father... He is nothing but a nuisance. Why don t
you get rid of him? Clearly, your mother is incapable of doing it. If my mother can t even do it,
how can I? Alexander relied. She doesn t believe in me enough. And who are you? Your God.
Dionysus? It can t be. Oh, but it is. Do it, boy. Do it and I will bless you with all of Greece and the...

He did not want to be like his mother a pet to its abuser. Alexander came to the royal body guard
and slammed one hundred silver coins on the table. *** All of Macedon silently wept for the
loss of their greatest king. All but Olympias and Alexander. Finally, Alexander would become
king and now Dionysus would fulfill his promise. Alexander the Great, King of the World. ***
Eliminate his enemies. One by one, Philip s wives and children were cut down. Make sure there
is no question about Alexander s rise to the throne. Philip s youngest wife and her daughter were
burned alive. Finally, Olympias was forgiven for disobeying Dionysus. *** Dionysus!
Dionysus! Alexander called out into the woods. I am here. A mere military of two thousand is
not enough to conquer the Persian Empire. The people refuse to join the military. I need more
men! Didn t you promise me the great Empire? I did, and you will have it. Do not worry about
your men. Why don t you put them to the test? I promised you all of Greece as well, did I not? I
will also bless you with this... At the wave of Dionysus hand, a sword appeared in each of his
hands and a silver shield on his back. Go conquer,

Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants
My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was determined to
be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He was terrified, no other
emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to make it there, and he did. He got lucky,
unlike many other undocumented immigrants who cross the border. and they are labeled
dangerous and should be evacuated as if they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are
coming here for a better opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why
should we not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America, any
age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants are an improvement
to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much of a person as born Americans are.
Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us.
They are rising our population, and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the
president, think that immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages
for everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do not take
up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native workers, If anything,
they are providing more business for us to purchase from. People also think that terrorist are why
immigrants are judge, and they are right for one part.

Job Enlargement, Rotation And Enrichment
It is important for organizations to understand how job enlargement, rotation and enrichment,
play a critical role in the workplace motivation. Each of these components has a certain level of
similarities and differences that can be helpful or harmful in an organization. According to
Chung and Ross (1977), horizontal job loading is a phrase used to describe job enlargement. It
adds more task elements to an existing job and requires that employees perform large units of
work instead of fragmented portions. Job enlargement could have the ability to improve
employee satisfaction, reduce costs and potentially increase productivity. It can accomplish this
by expanding the responsibilities assigned to one individual. However, while it seems to have
many pros it could also have some setbacks that an organization should be prepared to handle.
Because there are more duties required for the same job, an employee may experience a level of
exhaustion over time. When strategically planning on how job enlargement will benefit various
positions within the company, employees overall physical and mental well being should be
monitored in order to sustain a optimal level of performance and motivation. According to Lawler
(1969), the level of energy required to meet the production rate of jobs that have been enlarged
could decrease the motivation generated by employees overtime. This is not to say that job
enlargement is necessarily bad. It is quite possible that if properly applied, it

SIMP Bond
I am not quite sure I understand the question as you have posed it. Banks who originate SIMP
loans generate revenue in part, through points charged to the borrower, servicing fees collected
and deferred interest once SiMP pool is sold. They will pay taxes on the points, Servicing fees in
the year they received the revenue. Once they sell the pool of SIMP loans the sale price will
include all deferred interest to date along with the balance of principal owed.
Upon sale the seller will have to pay taxes on all the deferred taxes received at the time of he sale.
If they sell if for more than interest and principal owed they will have to pay additional taxes on the
profit as well. The new owner of SIMP pool will pick up where the seller left ... Show more content

Regarding obtaining Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as clients in Golf terms This is a gimme
However SIMP could exist very happily with out them.
The short answer: I have spent 2 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars vetting and coming up
with a Marketing plan for SIMP. We have refined SIMP to a the point Fannie and Freddie will
look at SiMP as nothing more than a mortgage amortization model, That will be all there is to
SIMP in their eyes. As such QM rule pertaining to amortization models are: NO negative
mortgages and a benefit to the borrower. As explained whereas SIMP makes the 30year model
look like a Subprime loan in both respects, nothing stands in the way of SIMP being accepted by
Fannie and Freddie.

Atonement Research Paper
Worship and sin cannot coexist. For example, before the fall, Adam and Eve did not need to
acquire atonement to worship God, but instead lived in the Garden of Eden with Him. The Temple
and Tabernacle were the places where man encountered God, so they served as vital religious
components of Judaism. In addition to atonement, tabernacleand temple, further elements of Old
Testamentworship include scripture, singing, and covenant renewal/remembrance. This essay will
go over Old Testament worship practices and the significance of these practices. Atonement is the
physical ritual conveying a sentiment of repentance. In the Old Testament, atonement was the
method used in order to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of
believers through a sacrificial statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall,
the patriarchs, the exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are
numerous types of sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated
cereal offerings (2:1 16), peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14
6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38). The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally
and intentionally committed sins and social failures that caused Israelitesto become unclean so that
they can once again join the worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). These
sacrifices acted in some cases as

Derivatives Trade * Trading in shares
The Indian capital market has witness impressive growth and qualitative changes, especially over
the last two decades. In the fifties, sixties and most of the seventies, it was in a dormant stage when
the investors were generally not familiar with, or inclined towards, the corporate securities. During
this time, only few companies accessed the capital market. As a consequence, trading volumes were
low during these years. The process of liberalization of the Indian economy since the early nineties
has contributed to changes in the capital market scenario. The entry of ... Show more content on

The Badla system was banned in December 1993 by the market regulator, SEBI, presumably
because it led to excessive speculation and/or its misuse. Based on the recommendations of the G S
Patel committee that the SEBI had set up, a new carry forward trading system was introduced in
January 1996. However, the system did not fond much favour with the broking and investing
community. The revised carry forward system entails a number of restrictions which have made it
unattractive. * Limits on the Carry Forward Transactions * Margins * Limited Carry Forward *
Cumbersome Reporting Requirement
There were voices for relaxations in the stringent conditions laid down in the revised carry
forward scheme from time to time and even demands for reviving the old badla system. The re
introduction of Badla trading was suggested in some quarters to be key to the revival of the capital
market on account of their deep faith in the ingenuity of the system which simultaneously facilitates
hare financing, share lending and carry forward. * Badla: Operation and Rationale
We may look the modus operandi of badla, which has been prevalent I the Indian markets. Under

Cassia s Infraction
Cassia was under the impression her entire life that the Society never made mistakes and that it
was their savior. Perfection was the one word people utilized to describe the futuristic world they
lived in. However, the Society made decisions for every single one of their citizens. People s
diets, death, activities, partner, and living area were prohibited from being their choice. People that
committed Infractions were given a status, such as an Aberration or an Anomaly. If your parents
had committed an Infraction, all their children were classified as one as well. Additionally,
Aberrations were discriminated against and usually left to perish in locations such as the Outer
Provinces. Similarly, the Society merely allowed 100 of each variety... Show more content on

Multiple dilemmas that plague our modern world currently, were eliminated by the Society. For
instance, cancer, a disease that causes 8 million deaths annually, has been treated by the Society.
Moreover, curing cancer is a remarkable accomplishment and one of the multitudes of reasons
why the Society is an ideal civilization, in my opinion. No cases have been reported and citizens
are fed based on their own nutritional requirements, and everyone is kept healthy. The life
expectancy of the average person is 80 years of age, and that is when they have their Final
Banquet, where they die. Nevertheless, the Society has ceased treacherous factors that are still
present in our world, therefore, I agree with their actions because it has lead to a prosperous
civilization. Although people, similar to Cassia, believe that who you want to love shouldn t be
chosen for you, the Society has generated additional solutions to creating complications. Cassia
persistently stated that the Society disposed of violence and criminals successfully. Those that
chose to commit Infractions were isolated and not allowed with the population. Anomalies were
usually killed to halt violence from spreading in the Society. Finally, in our world today, especially
in Chicago, violence is extremely recurrent and managing to diminish it is outstanding. This

The Magna Carta Charter
na Carta Charter The Magna Carta charter has been credited as one of England s earliest attempts
at a semi democratic community following the dissipation of the Athenian democracy and the
Roman Republic, among others. The charter was drafted at Runnymede on 15 June 1215 in an
attempt to address long overdue socio economic and political problems that had plagued the
region over a 500 year period. Despite the long standing history associated with the charter s spirit,
some of the key reasons for its drafting include King John s exploitation and destruction of the
baron families through over taxation efforts or scutage that were designed to fund and refund
military campaigns in both France and Normandy against King Philip II . His failures and eventual
return to England in 1214 sparked a rebellion that would eventually facilitate the charter s
ratification. There can be no doubt as to the wealth of this history and its association with a free,
democratic society. This, however, does not legitimize the notion of England being the originator of
modern democracy. In fact, the charter was more about the devolution of power within the nobility
than the citizenship. In this regard, while it provided numerous provisions that would eventually
protect the public, its main agenda was to limit the chances of absolutism and improve the
autonomy, rights, powers, and freedoms of barons. Its longevity is another matter of concern as the
charter would soon be revised in the course of King

The house provides a place for Emily to theoretically be frozen in time. The house symbolized the past, and it was sort of like a sanctuary for Emily. The townspeople held the Grierson family to such a high standard, this had a huge affect on Emily. As time progressed, society inevitably became more advanced. Emily obviously wanted to remain in the past for as long as possible, so she isolated herself in her home away from the world. The Grierson house was a safe haven for Emily. It was place for her to avoid the present. This something turned her house into a prison. She had nowhere else to go but home, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Games like lava monster involved us jumping and running from one part of a playground to another and making sure we didn t get caught by the lava monster. Tag and freeze tag got somewhat dangerous because if we got cornered by the person who was it, we would try to make sure not to get caught ― for example, jumping off of the play structures to run away. Four square, four corners, waterfall and jumprope were all classic games that we played. Jump rope was a challenging game. • 10. Music Has Been Around Since The Creation Of Humans Music has been around since the creation of humans. It is a sound that to us humans is appealing and it s something that we listen to when we are sad, happy, excited, mad, and etc. There are many types of music, but when i look at the type of music that represents reality the most it is hip hop and rap. Hip hop has been around since the 80s but it has become increasingly popular throughout all of our community. Rap artists started out rappingabout where they were from and the life they lived, and eventually it turned into rappers speaking about women, their riches and other social things. Hip hop however for some artists it was a way to express themselves and show us what reality actually was for them. They spoke about things such as police brutality, black rights, natural catastrophes, and many other things that we weren t exposed to, or didn t know about. This is significant because music is heard by everyone, and if that person can make a song that sounds appealing to people, that person could send a message to other people about things happening far away from them. I imagine that rappers started talking about their struggles and it became something that millions of people heard. I imagine that rap started out as story telling and evolved to become music with people speaking about their feelings and much more. Music has become heavily commercialized, and not just hip hop but in other genres as well. People from all over the country are becoming rappers and not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These people are usually not educated, because if they were, they would know that Frankenstein was actually the creator of the big scary monster . Frankenstein is a novel written by Mary Shelley that follows the journey of a young scientist named Victor Frankenstein, who constructs a sentient creature in his quest to create a living being. Mary Shelley portrays the themes of gender inequality, pursuit of knowledge, and man playing God through her use of characters and events in Frankenstein. • 14. Importance Of The Lower Class In A Connecticut Yankee In... In A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court, written by Mark Twain, there exists a clear incongruence between nobility and the lower class. While knights and landlords live lavishly without a concern for acquiring basic necessities, peasants often struggle to feed themselves and their families. With so few individuals holding such a large portion of the wealth, a vast gap between the rich and the poor plagues society. For the most part, King Arthur remains completely oblivious to these issues that the lower class faces every day. He ineffectively governs, failing to consider the needs of all people. King Arthur s interactions with the lower class and his inability to understand peasants lifestyles demonstrate the flaws of the monarchy system. Hank, on one hand, wants to infiltrate the lower class so that he can observe first hand the effects of his innovations on the lifestyle of the common man. In contrast, the king goes along simply for the purpose of enjoyment. Hank narrates, When I told the king I was going out disguised as a petty freeman to scour the country and familiarize myself with the humbler life of the people, he was all afire with the novelty of the thing in a minute, and was bound to take a chance in the adventure himself (Twain 150). • 16. Analysis Of Isolation In The Searchers On the Threshold of Isolation The film The Searchers (1956) opens with the score s theme, What makes a man to wander?/What makes a man to roam? The song s lyrics sets the premise for a story of a man, Ethan Edwards, who battles questions of purpose and identity as he takes on a multi year rescue mission. The film culminates with another verse from the song, A man will search his heart and soul/Go searchin way out there/His peace of mind he knows he ll find/But where, oh Lord, Lord where?/Ride away, ride away, ride away. Ethan completes his rescue mission, but fails to locate peace of mind. His inability to securely locate a sense of belonging and his loss of loyalties create the character s isolation The final scene, showing Ethan at the threshold of a home, exemplifies Ethan s alienation. The Searcher s final scene shows Ethan on the front porch of the Jorgensen s frontier house. The viewer can only see blackness within the home. The light from the expanse of frontierland outside causes Ethan s shadow to mix with the darkness of the home s interior. At the house s threshold, Ethan appears in contrapposto form, a term associated with Classical sculptures when a person s weight is supported by only one leg. • 21. Summary Of War Of The Rats War of the Rats The Battle of Stalingrad, perhaps the single most critical and certainly one of the bloodiest battles of World War II, is a great setting for a historical fiction story. His story centers on a duel to the death between two men: Chief Master Sgt. Vasily Zaitsev, sniper, one of the best of the Russian army, and a German SS colonel named Heinz Thorvald, the Nazis greatest marksman. When Russian snipers led by Zaitsev begin to take a demoralizing toll of German troops, picking them off like hunters shooting bears, the high command in Berlin dispatches Thorvald to the battlefield with orders to accomplish a single task: kill Zaitsev. A deadly contest ensues, with Robbins skillfully building up each of his protagonists as so deadly in their murderous crafts as to make them feared as a person and well liked as a reader. It is not David versus Goliath, but Hercules versus Zeus, the manly conflict of two equally matched and equally remorseless adversaries. The story moreover is based, Robbins writes in the introduction, on two real historical figures, though it is unclear whether the real Zaitsev and Thorvald engaged in the kind of duel described in War of the Rats. Robbins opens with a German lieutenant named Hofstetter who makes the mistake of tilting his head back to drink from a canteen and is dropped by a single shot from a distant rifle. Although the opera follows the overall storyline of the myth, there are several differences between the retelling and the original myth. These differences affecting the message the myths convey and reflecting the time period they were written in. In Vergil s version Aeneasand the other refugees ships crash in North Africa due to a storm Juno asks the king of the winds, Aeolus, to create. Venus, wanting her son Aeneas to be safe sends Cupid to make Queen Dido of Carthage fall in love with Aeneas. Aeneas arrives at Carthage where Dido offers them refuge, one day she and Aeneas go hunting and get caught up in a storm. Seeking shelter, they end up alone together and succumb to their passions, causing Dido to break her vow of chastity. A vow she made when her late husband, Sychaeus, was murdered by her brother causing her to flee her home kingdom and found Carthage. The news of the affair spreads and is heard by a neighboring king who the Queen had rejected due to her vow. In his anger the king asks for Jupiter s help who sends Mercury to tell Aeneas that he needs to continue his journey to Italy. Dido is angry with Aeneas leaving, but he tells her it is not his destiny to stay, in the end she threatens to kill herself if he leaves. As Aeneas sails away, Dido curses him with her last breath, the smoke from her funeral pyre rising into the sky where Aeneas can see it. Aeneas meets Dido one last time when he travels to the underworld, but this does not come up in Henry Purcell s retelling. In Henry s version of Dido and Aeneas, Aeneas crash is not shown he simply appears in front of Queen Dido and they profess their feelings for each other. The second difference in the myths is that in this version there are witches and a sorcerer that work together to destroy the Queen and Carthage who they hate. To do this they create a storm while Dido, Aeneas and their entourage are out hunting forcing the party to return to the castle. When evacuating, you should not forget to protect your eyes with glasses or a damp towel around your face, wear a long sleeved shirt to avoid skin irritations or burns, wear pants and use a mouth mask that will prevent you from inhaling dust. In conclusion, I think you should always consider what to do in cases where the volcano can erupt, be informed about what to do and where to go in case it happens. The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day Some readers see death, but when I read the story Today Will Be a Quiet Day by Amy Hempel, I find it to be a light hearted, first hand account of people coping with transition. Even its location in the table of contents under the heading Childhood and Adolescent (Barnet), implies that the story is not about death at all. A newly defined family, one man, a boy and a girl, is faced with the aftermath of divorce and explore among themselves the intricacies of life. The story gives us sublime but keen insight into the transition and adjustments these three people make in this story. There are many inferences to what it is like stepping into the life of a parent you don t live with but once or twice a month. This new family is only new in the sense of the father s having questions and doubts. Whether he doubts his ability to read his children or has been absent too long is not indicated, but clearly this family seems to be redefining their old relationship. The children handle it a bit differently by speaking of topics that are old news (such as the boy s friend s suicide), telling jokes, and in the case of the older sister, showing independence and maturity in deciding to drive her brother and father home. Sylvan Barnet comments that the father may be feeling that he may not know his children (1206). As the story progresses the father gets his answers as many parents would in real life. The father is an active listener and interrupts, defends or morbidly participates in the fun of his children s conversation. At times he is reminded of how well he knows his children when he again looses his appetite watching them eat fast. And once more when he quips, Who would adopt you? This means that he is stuck with these wonderful children and they are stuck with him. One of the more poignant moments in the story is when the daughter comes to realize her gullibility in believing the family dog had escaped death to live a long happy life on a farm (Barnet 1205). The tendency to hoard cash diminished rapidly, panicky withdrawals ended, money returned to checking and savings accounts, and the banking system stabilized. The Patterns Of Teen Drug Abuse A pattern that we ve seen erupt over the last couple of years is the habit of teenagers and young adults falling prey to party drugs, there s been a sense of normalcy placed along with a pill popping culture, you ll notice rappers almost romanticizing and influencing teenagers into experimenting with prescription drugs. What most people don t take into consideration before consuming these drugs is that most prescription opioids have addictive side effects, that when taken in long term or copious amounts can cause the user to experience withdrawals and ultimately draw them back in a continuous cycle. Most would say, why can t they just not take the drugs? Or claim it was the users fault because they know better. While they are not entirely right, it s not wrong either. Research shows that a large majority of teens will find themselves in a position where they will be offered drugs before the age of 14 at a party, this decision will ultimately affect their life in the long run, be it becoming a social outcast from their peers for not trying these drugs, or taking them and developing an addiction that will surely harm their bodies before they ve truly became adults. Teen drug overdose is an issue that dates back over multiple generations, with each finding their own ways to get recreational highs. You never really think how it gets there or why there isn t any left. When you go to the store to buy groceries and the price has went up you tend to get upset. Although, when they go down you think to yourself that you better stock up. All of these changes occur because of demand and supply. Demand and supply are the key components for the economy. Kirzner (2000) states in his article: The theory of supply and demandis recognized almost universally as the first step toward understanding how market prices are determined and the way in which these prices help shape production and consumption decisions the decisions that make up not shapes the prices for production and consumption of goods and services. Demand According to Moffatt Demand is the relationship between the quantity of a good or service consumers will purchase and the price charged for that good . It is the want or need for a good or service to be produced. The amount of a good at a certain price that an individual is willing to buy is called quantity demand. Prices fluctuate for many reasons. When a price of a good or service goes up or down it is called law of demand. If the price rises, the quantity demanded goes down. If the price goes down, the quantity demanded goes up. • 44. Fluid Responsiveness Study Introduction Prediction of fluid responsiveness has been investigated to prevent fluid overload because excessive peri operative fluid administration can be a contributory factor to postoperative complications, prolonged length of hospital stay, organ failure and mortality1 4. Mini fluid challenge is a strategy to assess fluid responsiveness based on a fractional change in stroke volume (SVfc) after a small loading dose of fluid. Theoretically, at a steep portion of the Frank Starling curve, SVfc after fluid loading would be greater than at a plateau portion. Therefore, greater SVfc after small fluid loading could indicate positive fluid responsiveness. Several studies have shown that a mini fluid challenge could predict fluid responsiveness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The administration of a small amount of fluid is thought to have minimum adverse effects in even non responders. Muller et al reported that a rapid administration of 100 mL fluid induced a greater than 10% increase of subaortic VTI by Doppler echocardiography, which subsequently predicted a 15% increase in VTI after a 500 mL of fluid administration in mechanically ventilated and sedated ICU patients with acute circulatory failure5. Guinot et al demonstrated a greater than 7% SVfc measured by thoracic impedance cardiography after 100 mL of fluid administration was a good predictor of a subsequent increase in SVfc in response to a 500 mL fluid loading in spontaneously breathing patients under spinal anaesthesia6. Therefore, the mini fluid challenge can be a clinically useful diagnostic method to predict fluid responsiveness in either mechanically or spontaneously ventilated patients. The present study also showed the relatively high (r = 0.77) correlation coefficient between SVfc3 and SVfc10, suggesting that the greater the increase in SVfc3, the better the fluid responsiveness. SVfc3 greater than 5.8% measured by transthoracic echocardiography also predicted fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated anaesthetised dogs. All these results support the ability of the mini fluid challenge to predict fluid responsiveness based on SVfc. However, the assessment of SVfc is challenging in routine practice because it requires special and expensive equipment. Therefore, an alternative simple method to assess SVfc would be ... • 48. Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was determined to be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He was terrified, no other emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to make it there, and he did. He got lucky, unlike many other undocumented immigrants who cross the border. and they are labeled dangerous and should be evacuated as if they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are coming here for a better opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why should we not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America, any age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants are an improvement to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much of a person as born Americans are. Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us. They are rising our population, and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the president, think that immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages for everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do not take up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native workers, If anything, they are providing more business for us to purchase from. People also think that terrorist are why immigrants are judge, and they are right for one part. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Job Enlargement, Rotation And Enrichment It is important for organizations to understand how job enlargement, rotation and enrichment, play a critical role in the workplace motivation. Each of these components has a certain level of similarities and differences that can be helpful or harmful in an organization. According to Chung and Ross (1977), horizontal job loading is a phrase used to describe job enlargement. It adds more task elements to an existing job and requires that employees perform large units of work instead of fragmented portions. Job enlargement could have the ability to improve employee satisfaction, reduce costs and potentially increase productivity. It can accomplish this by expanding the responsibilities assigned to one individual. However, while it seems to have many pros it could also have some setbacks that an organization should be prepared to handle. Because there are more duties required for the same job, an employee may experience a level of exhaustion over time. When strategically planning on how job enlargement will benefit various positions within the company, employees overall physical and mental well being should be monitored in order to sustain a optimal level of performance and motivation. According to Lawler (1969), the level of energy required to meet the production rate of jobs that have been enlarged could decrease the motivation generated by employees overtime. This is not to say that job enlargement is necessarily bad. It is quite possible that if properly applied, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. Atonement Research Paper Worship and sin cannot coexist. For example, before the fall, Adam and Eve did not need to acquire atonement to worship God, but instead lived in the Garden of Eden with Him. The Temple and Tabernacle were the places where man encountered God, so they served as vital religious components of Judaism. In addition to atonement, tabernacleand temple, further elements of Old Testamentworship include scripture, singing, and covenant renewal/remembrance. This essay will go over Old Testament worship practices and the significance of these practices. Atonement is the physical ritual conveying a sentiment of repentance. In the Old Testament, atonement was the method used in order to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of believers through a sacrificial statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall, the patriarchs, the exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are numerous types of sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated cereal offerings (2:1 16), peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14 6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38). The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally and intentionally committed sins and social failures that caused Israelitesto become unclean so that they can once again join the worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). These sacrifices acted in some cases as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the fifties, sixties and most of the seventies, it was in a dormant stage when the investors were generally not familiar with, or inclined towards, the corporate securities. During this time, only few companies accessed the capital market. As a consequence, trading volumes were low during these years. However, the system did not fond much favour with the broking and investing community. The revised carry forward system entails a number of restrictions which have made it unattractive. * Limits on the Carry Forward Transactions * Margins * Limited Carry Forward * Cumbersome Reporting Requirement There were voices for relaxations in the stringent conditions laid down in the revised carry forward scheme from time to time and even demands for reviving the old badla system. • 53. Cassia s Infraction Cassia was under the impression her entire life that the Society never made mistakes and that it was their savior. Perfection was the one word people utilized to describe the futuristic world they lived in. However, the Society made decisions for every single one of their citizens. People s diets, death, activities, partner, and living area were prohibited from being their choice. People that committed Infractions were given a status, such as an Aberration or an Anomaly. If your parents had committed an Infraction, all their children were classified as one as well. Additionally, Aberrations were discriminated against and usually left to perish in locations such as the Outer Provinces. Similarly, the Society merely allowed 100 of each variety... For instance, cancer, a disease that causes 8 million deaths annually, has been treated by the Society. Moreover, curing cancer is a remarkable accomplishment and one of the multitudes of reasons why the Society is an ideal civilization, in my opinion. No cases have been reported and citizens are fed based on their own nutritional requirements, and everyone is kept healthy. The life expectancy of the average person is 80 years of age, and that is when they have their Final Banquet, where they die. Nevertheless, the Society has ceased treacherous factors that are still present in our world, therefore, I agree with their actions because it has lead to a prosperous civilization. Although people, similar to Cassia, believe that who you want to love shouldn t be chosen for you, the Society has generated additional solutions to creating complications. Cassia persistently stated that the Society disposed of violence and criminals successfully. Those that chose to commit Infractions were isolated and not allowed with the population. Anomalies were usually killed to halt violence from spreading in the Society. Finally, in our world today, especially in Chicago, violence is extremely recurrent and managing to diminish it is outstanding. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. The Magna Carta Charter na Carta Charter The Magna Carta charter has been credited as one of England s earliest attempts at a semi democratic community following the dissipation of the Athenian democracy and the Roman Republic, among others. The charter was drafted at Runnymede on 15 June 1215 in an attempt to address long overdue socio economic and political problems that had plagued the region over a 500 year period. Despite the long standing history associated with the charter s spirit, some of the key reasons for its drafting include King John s exploitation and destruction of the baron families through over taxation efforts or scutage that were designed to fund and refund military campaigns in both France and Normandy against King Philip II . His failures and eventual return to England in 1214 sparked a rebellion that would eventually facilitate the charter s ratification. There can be no doubt as to the wealth of this history and its association with a free, democratic society. This, however, does not legitimize the notion of England being the originator of modern democracy. In fact, the charter was more about the devolution of power within the nobility than the citizenship. In this regard, while it provided numerous provisions that would eventually protect the public, its main agenda was to limit the chances of absolutism and improve the autonomy, rights, powers, and freedoms of barons. Its longevity is another matter of concern as the charter would soon be revised in the course of King ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
