The Good Beginning
My journey began, I was leaving the Tampa airport and heading to Chicago, destination Great Lakes,

build various support groups, interventions, and an overall warm school climate. One topic that I am

obsolete at the moment, it may not always be that way. The Supreme Court ruling in the 2005 case
that ruled juvenile executions unconstitutional, passed by a majority of five to four. Since that time we
have had two of the five majority leave the Court, two of the minority leave, and added four new

Analysis Of The Thinking Out Loud Video
After watching the three videos, I had a very differing opinions about all of them. The one that stuck
out to me the most, and certainly not in a good way, was the Thinking Out Loud video. Obviously, the
interpreter was not qualified to be doing that type of work. After watching the video, the first time
with the sound on, I watched it again with the sound off to see if I could understand her signing.
Unfortunately, I did not understand what she was saying. In terms of ethical considerations, or in this
case lack thereof, there is absolutely no regard toward assuring equal access to her consumers. I do not
recall her even completing one full sentence or thought when I was watching with the sound off and

His facial expressions and use of non manual markers were much greater than those of the other two
videos. He was very easy to understand and used very strong ASL. Per this assignment, I interviewed
a Deaf individual named Alyssa Kovatch. Her reactions to the videos were nearly identical to mine.
We thought the same things about the videos, especially the Thinking Out Loud one. During our
FaceTime interview, Alyssa said she was Awful and that she Could not understand the video at all
unless [she] read the captions. She also said that she did not like how in the Boston Blizzard video she
had to read the captions for the whole first part of the video since the interpreter was not shown until
later. Even when the interpreter was being shown, Alyssa said it was difficult to see her. She said that
in emergency situations it is absolutely important for interpreters to be shown in focus, or at least on
the side of the screen in a separate bubble. Alyssa did say that she appreciated the first and the last
videos much more than she appreciated the middle one. Along with interviewing a Deaf Individual, I
also spoke with (retired) certified interpreter Debbie Drobney. Debbie had very few, if any, positive

competing goals and policies in regards to criminal sentencing. This paper explores the ideas behind
changes made to the sentencing policies with the United States judicial system. It begins with an
overview of the goals behind criminal sentencing. This paper concludes with a discussion on the
current status and disparities involving criminal sentencing.
Criminal Sentencing

Incapacitation is another goal behind criminal sentencing. The idea is simple. By incapacitating
someone (keeping them in prison) they will no longer be able to commit crimes against society. Long
prison sentences are not the only means of incapacitating someone. Incapacitation looks at reducing
the offender s ability and opportunity to commit future crimes. This can be done through intensive
supervision, electronic monitoring, and even the requirement to register as a sex offender can be seen
as incapacitating. Incapacitation assumes that most criminals will continue to commit crimes if they
are not restrained.
Another goal of criminal sentencing is to rehabilitate. Rehabilitation is a programmed effort to alter
the attitudes and behaviors of inmates and improve their likelihood of becoming law abiding citizens
(Seiter, 2008, p. 32). Rehabilitation assumes that criminals have underlying problems that are the
cause of their criminality and that if these causes are treated, the offender can return to society and
possibly provide some type of restitution for the victims of their crimes.

involve some type of compensation, either in fines paid to the government or in damages paid to the

Professional Soccer Player As A Professional Athlete Player
Is there such thing as the dream job? For many, being a professional athlete is like the perfect job. For
me, that is too vague. I have done my research, and it is clear to me now what a great job being a
professional soccer player is. Soccer players participate in the world s most popular sport, which is
soccer (Facts on File). Although, their job isn t always just to play the sport. They must also deal with
the media and everything the club they are in asks of them. Being a soccer player can be tough, but it
comes with many perks and benefits. In addition, little education is required, but lots of skill and
characteristics are needed. Professional soccer players might live the dream lives of many. They play a
very fun sport and get paid to do so. Although, it may come with a lot of stress if they do not manage
it correctly. A lot is expected from these players week in and week out. Not only do they have to work
on the pitch, but also with sponsors and the press. In addition, this career is not a lifelong career, so it
is crucial to be prepared for when you retire. One of the greatest parts of being a soccer player is the
high salary you will receive (Facts on File). Since being a professional athlete does not require much
study, a high school diploma is good enough to become a soccer player (Facts on File). Yet, training
for the sport is still needed, and can be expensive before becoming a pro. Soccer players normally
show interest in the sport since their youth.

The Controversial Restoration of the Sistine Chapel
The restoration of the Sistine Chapel in the 1980 s and 90 s was very controversial. This issue began
because Michelangelo, the painter of the Sistine Chapels ceiling, did the painting as a fresco. This
means that the paint was absorbed in the wall, thus becoming part of the wall itself. Like many other
walls and building, over time they began to crack and deteriorate. During the time of the consideration
of the restoration of the chapel, the fresco had been up for over 500 years. As one would expect, there
had been many cracks in the ceiling and the coloring of the ceiling was becoming dull. The ceiling
was also dusty and covered in grime from candle smoke and burning coal. Before the newest and most
major renovation of the chapel, there had been other previous smaller ones. In some of these
restorations, a type of glue was used to temporarily brighten the dark colors. Unfortunately, the glue
helped to attract more dust and grime, which took away from the efforts of restoring it. In one attempt
to restore the ceiling, wine and bread were used to clean it. I cannot not see how anyone would think
that would work and it obviously did not. The most current restoration began in the 1980 s and lasted
for about twelve to fourteen years. This restoration included some of the best restorers worldwide. The
Nippon Television Corporation, a Japanese television company, donated 3 million dollars to fund this
project and in return required that they had exclusive television and
