The Elizabethan Er The New Form Of Entertainment
In England, all the way back to the year 1567, a man by the name of John Brayne built the first theater
that would soon become one of Englands favorite forms of entertainment. Elizabethan Theaters were
used to perform plays, poems, and a few other things to the people of England. In total, there were
eight theaters that were scattered all throughout England. The Elizabethan era lived a good long life,
and was very successful in entertaining the people during it s time. However, all good things must
come to an end, and eventually, that is what happened to the theaters. The introduction of Elizabethan
Theaters changed the country of England by giving the people a new form of entertainment, and to
showcase what playwrights and poets were capable of during the time the era lasted. In the early days
of England, the people had many forms of entertainment. Some examples include, checkers and chess,
pubs, pit fighting, and much more. In the year 1567, England was introduced to a whole new form of
entertainment. During this year, a man named John Brayne started to build the first Elizabethan
Theater. John Brayne built The Red Lion , and it was located in Whitechapel, London. The Red Lion,
was more of just a, not too serious, playhouse meant to entertain a few people here and there. Though
it was meant to entertain only a few, the theater was a big hit with the people, and soon, other theaters
started popping up, thanks to the first of it s kind, the Red Lion theater. Ten

Air Pollution in Mexico City
Air Pollution in Mexico City
Outline
Title: Air Pollution in Mexico City
I. Introduction General information about the problem: As the vehicle population reached more than
700 million, numerous cities experiencing rapid industrialization started to suffer from air pollution.
Some of them reduced the air pollution level; however there are still some that are considered to be
the most polluted cities in the world. Introduction of the problem: One of them is Mexico City.
According to Forbes, Mexican capital is one of the five dirtiest cities of the world. Industrial growth of
the city, population boom, which grew from 3 million in 1950 to 20 million today, and the
proliferation of vehicles in the city ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these have already been implemented and we know that they will work for the environment.
Therefore, the government should enforce these solutions and stop the air pollution in Mexico City.
Air pollution in Mexico City As the vehicle population reached more than 700 million worldwide,
numerous cities experiencing rapid industrialization started to suffer from air pollution (Walsh, 1999).
The level of air pollution in any city is a global concern. The reason is that air can travel freely from
place to place; consequently, the polluted air from one city can travel to another. The polluted air has
numerous negative consequences for human health and also severely damages the ecosystem. Some of
the cities reduced the air pollution level; however there are still some that are considered to be the
most polluted cities in the world. One of them is Mexico City. According to Forbes, the Mexican
capital is one of the five dirtiest cities of the world (Luck, 2008). The government and people have
take measures in order to reduce the air pollution in Mexico City before it is too late. The government
should practice legal regulations and favor the usage of hydrogen fuel instead of gasoline in order to
reduce the air pollution level in Mexico City. Mexico City is one of the world s largest metropolitan
areas, containing more than 20 million inhabitants, 3.5 million vehicles, and 35,000

Animal Welfare Act Of 1966. Before 1966, Almost Of Animals,
Animal Welfare Act of 1966 Before 1966, almost of animals, family pets as well, were being taken
away by thieves and burglars because a lot of laboratories were paying others to do the messed up
dirty work all so they could test on them with all sorts of chemicals. Between 1908 1973, President
Lyndon B. Johnson saw this and the heard cries and sorrow of the people and didn t agree with what
was going on. On August 24th, 1966 President Johnson created a nameless act in order to ensure and
protect the animals that were being wrongfully used in an inhumane way. This act ensured the safety
of animals by enforcing all companies to have licenses for their practices . The animal that was put on

Summary Of Brutal Imagination By Cornelius Eadya
Cornelius Eady is a Black American writer who focuses and writes widely on the topics of race and
society. His poetry is usually centered on jazz and blues, violence, home life, family life and societal
problems arising from questions of race and socioeconomics. Eady has written over twelve books but
the most popular include Brutal Imagination, Hardheaded Weather, Don t Miss Your Water, The
Gathering of My Name, and The Autobiography of a Jukebox. From this list, I chose to explore the
content of Brutal Imagination, The Gathering of My Name and Hardheaded Weather. Brutal
Imagination is based on a true story about a mom named Susan Smith from Union. South Carolina. On
October 25th, 1994, Smith told police she d been carjacked by a Black man, who forced her out of her
car and drove away with her two young sons still in the back of the vehicle (Susan Smith
Biography.com. 2014). She then blamed the death of her sons on this man but later she confessed and
was convicted of the murder of the boys and was sentenced to life in prison.
This book is made up of two cycles of poems, each confronting the same subject: the characterization
of a black man in white America. In this book, I plan to focus mainly on the first cycle and touch
briefly on the second. The first cycle includes four different sections. In section one of cycle one, Eady
writes about Susan Smith and Charles Stuart, two murderers who blamed their crimes on nonexistent
black attackers. The first poem is called How I Got Born (Eady 5), in this poem the fictional young
African American man is conjured up. In the upper right hand corner of the page, Eady writes a note
that explains who and what the speaker is: The speaker is the young black man Susan Smith claimed
kidnapped her children (Eady 5). In the first few lines of the poem he says, Susan Smith willed me
alive/ At the moment/ Her babies sank into the lake (l. 1 40). So right away he gives us a pretty
straightforward explanation for what this poem is about and what this section will be about. In the
next few poems, the narrator discusses his existence and reason for being created. Eady uses a lot of
metaphors, similes and imagery in his poems, and he does a phenomenal job with imagery.

How to Improve Airline Safety and Pilot Training Essay
On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection Flight 3407
crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty people aboard.. The
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that followed stunned the American
public and identified the need to closely examine the regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest
requirements, with a strong focus on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States
government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation
Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111 216 (Public Law 111 126,
2010, 3). The bill targets five focal points that will force the Federal ... Show more content on

The reason that this came about was the captain of the Colgan accident flight in Buffalo, New York
had failed five checkrides in his life time. This would not normally be a big deal, but he failed his
checkrides because he was not satisfactory in icing procedures...one of the major causes of the
accident according to the NTSB.
Implementation of NTSB Flight Crewmember Training Recommendations The National Traffic Safety
Board (NTSB) is an independent United States government investigative agency responsible for civil
transportation accident investigation. The NTSB investigates all aviation accidents and incidents. On
an annual basis, this bill requires that the FAA accepts all NTSB flight crewmember training
recommendations that come up over the past year (Hughes, 2010). For example, the NTSB has
requested that the FAA include flight in icing conditions into all flight training curriculums.
FAA Rulemaking on Training Programs Prior to this bill, the FAA had no say in what airlines included
in their training programs as long as the program included certain subjects. No later than fourteen
months after the date the bill is signed into law, the FAA will issue a final rule on all training programs
(House Transportation Subcommittee, 2010). This was brought into effect because Colgan Airlines did
not include flight into icing conditions in their flight

In fact, improving the financial performances and conditions of the business will aid in modeling,
planning, and control. Even though financial problems can occur, planning and observing the budget
will allow us to adjust and fix any issues that may arise along the way.
If the company continues to uphold integrity and professionalism and deliver exceptional care in need,
the financial outcome for UHS will defiantly remain positive, but if the company does not, then it will
be negative. Getting expenses under control and increasing spending value will generate positive
financial outcomes for UHS as long the budget is performing effectively. On the other hand, if the
finances are recorded improperly or not documented at all, then this will lead to a negative budgeting
performance. The high level budget plan for Universal Health Services consists of an extraordinary
strategic design. The budgeting phases include formulation, approval, execution, and evaluating. All
of these phases play a vital role in the organizations budget and rely on each other in order for the
business to achieve its goals successfully. Therefore, the company has agreed that all sections should
be monitored and followed appropriately so that we can continue the sustainability of the budget

Difference Between Linguistic And Linguistic Studies
In the following essay, I am going to present a comparison between two linguistic studies.
Constructing another Language Usage Based Linguistics in Second Language Acquisition by
Eskildsen and Sources of Linguistic Knowledge in the second language acquisition of English articles
by Ionin, Zubizarreta, and Maldonado are going to be contrasted regarding their theoretical
frameworks, research questions and research designs together with the conclusions reached.
Reading the two studies, certain conclusions regarding their theoretical framework can be drawn. The
first article provides Usage Based linguistics view of language learning as mainly based on experience
and item, with particular formulas used at the beginning and then resulting to general constructions
(e.g. Dabrowska 2000; Tomasello 2003; Dabroswka and Lieven 2005). On the other hand, Ionin,
Zubbizarreta, and Maldonado, study adopts a theoretical framework that primarily focuses on the
aspects of linguistic knowledge, namely the L2 input, L1 transfer and the inherent linguistic
knowledge (Universal Grammar) that influence the acquisition of English articles by second language
learners.
Each of the studies also examine research questions related to their domains. The first one explores the
relationship between the application of Usage Based linguistics and issues in second language
acquisition, as well as how type and token frequencies used by learners can reflect schematicity of
learner language representation

Reluctant Fundamentalist
US immigration is a major component of The Reluctant Fundamentalist, and contributes greatly to the
plot as well. Hamid s use of US immigration affects the plot of the story as it connects to the theme of
identity, through the use of ashamed tone as well as precise diction. First of all, the use of ashamed
tone demonstrates how US immigration is associated with the theme of identity. For example, as
Changez rides in a limousine with his colleagues, he spots a Filipino driver: There was an undisguised
hostility in his expression; I had no idea why ... But his dislike was so obvious, so intimate, that it got
under my skin. I stared back at him, getting angry at myself. (67). The words hostility and dislike
emphasize the negative perception ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, as Changez arrives at Manila with Underwood Samson, he states: Perhaps it was for this
reason that I did something in Manila I had never done before: I attempted to act and speak, as much
as my dignity would permit, more like an American. Even though Changez is a US immigrant, it is
suggested that he still acted in a Pakistani behavior, as he states how he had never specifically acted in
the stereotypical American way. Additionally, the fact that Changez attempts to act like an American
demonstrates how his identity isn t just American, but also Pakistani as well. This defines the theme of
identity, as Changez feels troubled and confused about where he really is from, and where his loyalties
lie. Furthermore, Changez states how at Manila, he learned to answer, when asked where [he] was
from, that [he] was from New York. (65). Changez stating how he was specifically from New York
shows how he identifies the place as home, similar to his real home in Pakistan. It is shown through
previous chapters that New York contains many parts of Pakistani culture, explaining why Changez
relates to New York in such a cheerful and excited tone. Even so, while many relate the US and New
York as identical, Changez separates the two places, stating how America represents the egotistical,
condescending behavior that it expresses on others. Changez resorting

Internal Conflict In Anthem By Ayn Rand
There has always been a slight apprehension towards being alone or standing alone. Students rarely
want to admit to having an answer different from the rest of their classmates; some people do not want
to go somewhere and do something by themselves. Notably, with more shy or anxious people, they
will often stick around someone they know, so they will not be alone in the crowd. Although that
company might help them make it through those nerve wracking moments, when is the right time for
them to walk alone? Should a person ever walk alone? In Ayn Rand s Anthem, Equality s internal
conflict of conformity versus individuality plays a role that Equality needs to overcome in order to
complete their quest for freedom which helps create their outcast archetype and gives significance to
the final word of the novel.
The internal conflict in Anthem plays a role within the novel by providing the complication that the
protagonist, Equality, has to overcome in order to complete their quest. Equality is on a quest for
freedom and for knowledge, even though it will separate them from their brothers. From the beginning
of the novel until the third chapter, Equality notes how they commit transgressions against their
society, such as preference, and how they are different from their brothers, an example being Equality
s height of 6 feet tall. In the third chapter, Equality more or less accepts their fate of being alone, even
though the internal conflict still silently lurks in the

Culture is the way people do things it is social behavior and norms found in human societies, the way

Culture includes religion, what we wear, how we wear it, our language, marriage, music, what we

Confucius And The Ancient Rites And Moral Standard Were...
Confucius is an educator having over three thousand disciples, a statesman employed not only in his
own State but in several other, but most importantly, he is a ritualist who is a firm believer and
steadfast advocator of the Way, which has long been discarded by rulers in Confucius time. During his
time, the House of Chou had declined, the ancient rites and moral standard were forgotten, but he had
been striving to become a superior person , a gentleman, in his whole life, and developed a variety of
moral philosophies that was cited and organized by his disciples into the book Analects after
Confucius s demise.
Confucius was born in Tsou, a small village in the State of Lu. He was later given the personal name
Chiu with courtesy name Chung ni and the surname Kung. His father, Shuliang He, died soon after
Confucius s birth, and his mother refused to tell him his father s name nor where his father was buried.
Therefore, growing up in this single and impecunious Confucius was solitary and lack of social
relations in his childhood, thus developing his interest in performing rites. As a child, Confucius liked
to entertain himself with sacrificial vessels, using them to set out ceremony and practice that he
considered to be rites and sacrificial offerings.
Only after his mother s death were young Confucius told things about his father, then he buried his
mother alongside his father, although at considerable expense. After these rites, Confucius finally

The Battle of Bannockburn happened in 1314 just outside of Stirling, Scotland. It was a war between

Bannockburn, quite a few things happened. In 1290, Margaret, the maid of Norway , the heir to the

The Scottish crowned Bruce as king on May 25, 1306, in the Abbey of Scones.
Then, Edward I died in 1307, and Edward II stayed away from Scotland. Bruce, however, wanted all
of the Scottish land back from England. He began to take the land back, and by 1314, the Scottish held
all the castles except five. These five castles included Stirling Castle, which is located just outside of
the town of Bannockburn, Scotland.
In the summer of 1314, Edward Bruce, Robert Bruce s younger brother, began the siege of Stirling
Castle. The English men inside the castle called for help from their country. The men inside the castle
were so desperate to escape, they created the Stirling Castle Agreement. The agreement stated that if

The Discovery Of The Deinonychus Dinosaur
Deinonychus were discovered during the time period of Early Cretaceous, which was between 110 to
115 million years ago. When deinonychus were discovered, paleontologists started to reconsider how
dinosaurs lived. Deinonychus name comes from terrible claw (prehistoric Beast of the Week, 2015).
This name was given because it was believed that deinonychus were active dinosaurs all year round
(Blagic 2016). The discovery of the deinonychus dinosaur was out of the ordinary. These features that
the deinonychus had was never seen before in any other type of dinosaur. This dinosaur was
intelligent, fast, had claws that could slash a prey bigger than itself, and the hands could grasp the prey
(Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History,
Barnum Brown first discovered Deinonychus between 1931 1932. He found the Deinonychus bones.
He collected their bones and body parts, like the hands and feet from Crow Indian Reservation. Soon
after when Brown died, John Ostrom took over and began the discovery again. He made his way to
Montana to rediscover Deinonychus in 1969. Ostrom found that deinonychus were much smaller than
its cousin Tyrannosaurus Rex. Deinonychus weighed around 50 100 kilos. (Lowell Dingus and
Timothy Rowe, New York, W. H. Freeman and Co., 1998). A lot of information was found about this
one particular dinosaur, which leads to many hypothesis and experiments. The discovery of the

Neural Computational And Neural Computation
Attempting to understand the mind and its processes can be a challenging concept to try and grasp.
Over the years there have been many different interpretations of how we understand the world around
us through information and processing in the mind and brain. Argumentatively, there are a few
approaches to neural computational and neural information processing to the mind and brain, such as
through biophysical and algorithmic neural computation. While, the transition from biophysical neural
computational processing to algorithmic neural computational processing have different processes
they are both an important aspect in understanding the process from information gathered from the
world to neural computation in the mind and brain.
The biophysical aspect of neural computation is a complicated piece that is still being researched and
uncovered today. However, at a rudimentary level information processing is where biophysical neural
computation begins. Information processing is a type of processing that occurs within the brain so that
natural information, or causal correlation, can be processed into neural summation, which eventually
leads to neural computation. When we perceive something in the world we make biophysical
connections within our brain so that we can comprehend what we see or hear in the world. During this
biophysical neural computation, information processing goes through the process of neural
summation, which is a method of signal transduction. During this

Behavioral Health Issues Within Inpatient Psychiatric...
Introduction
One of the most frequently reported behavioral health issues in inpatient psychiatric settings involves
patient assaults (Perez, 2014). Increased occurrence of assaults can have a damaging impact on the life
of psychiatric patients (Luckhoff et al., 2013). It presents a threat to the physical and psychological
well being of both psychiatric nursing staff and all patients present (Luckhoff et al., 2013). There are
numerous studies showing assaults occurring amongst staff and patients hospitalized in inpatient units;
however, there are limited resources for addressing patient to patient assaults (Luckhoff et al., 2013).
This chapter reviews current studies and identifies available resources on patient to patient assaults in

A search of several databases with patient assault literature using the date range from January 2010 to
February 2017 was performed. The databases searched were CINAHL, ProQuest, and Medline using
the terms patient assault, patient safety, patient to patient, psychiatric, geriatric, staff education, and
nursing knowledge of assault. Initially, it generated 33 articles and results were narrowed down to 11
peer reviewed and research articles published from 2012 to 2017 that focused on patient assaults in
inpatient facilities. Research shows that utilizing multiple search strategies for evidence based
practices reduces bias in evidence searches and provides a vast pool of resources for review (Atchan,
Davis, Foureur, 2016).
Methodologically, quantitative studies are highly structured and involve a systematic process to build
knowledge (Hall Roussel, 2014). The focus of the search was quantitative studies ranging from
systematic reviews, experimental studies, case control studies, and randomized controlled trials using
quantitative data and methodology. Additional search terms included the phrase geriatric patients
admitted on a psychiatric unit and cognitively impaired geriatric patients. Exclusion criteria included
non English publications, non peer reviewed articles, and abstract only articles.

The tool utilized for grading the level of evidence of the articles was the Johns Hopkins Nursing
Evidence Based Practice (JHNEBP) model, which

2016 Voter Turnout
Overall, the 2016 voter turnout was lower than ever before. The United States is a country that has
some of the lowest voter turnouts in history, and unlike Australia, the USA doesn t make voting
mandatory. About 48 to 57% of citizens normally participate in the presidential election voting but in
2016 many American s decided to opt out lowering the voter turnout to a mere 55% of the American
population. When American s didn t vote that decision most likely came due to the fact that Donald
Trump and Hillary Clinton were both two of the most disliked presidential candidates in the past 30
years. We are also aware that presidential elections are more competitive in some states, and
Republicans didn t seem to vote as much as people in swing

American Settlers Vs Indians
One colony should be particularly noticed, Pennsylvania, for how unusually good they were to the
indigenous population of America: William Penn openly admitted for the Indians the right to land
ownership.
While Penn led the colony, Pennsylvanians lived in peace with the indigenous population. Some
Indians, such as the Tuscarora and Shawnee, even resorted to Pennsylvania to settle conflicts with
other, more militant colonies. Penn believed that white settlers should pay compensation to the Indians
of their ancestral lands. His government regulated other relationships with Indian tribes, including
commercial. Unfortunately, when Penn left his post in the colony, an influx of European immigrants
practiced violent measures against indigenous inhabitants.

The Broken Window Theory
In 1982, James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling presented an article that called for a change in police
tactics to enhance neighborhood safety entitled simply Broken Windows . This article was hailed as
the godsend that everyone was waiting for because at the time crime rates were extremely high and
murder had peaked just two years prior to the release of this article. Wilson and Kelling declare that a
return to order maintenance police function is the key to providing safe neighborhoods (Kelling and
Wilson 104). This is achieved through foot patrol officers that enact regulations for their patrol areas
which keep individuals in their place and strengthen the informal social control mechanisms of natural
communities (Kelling and Wilson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The broken window signifies that no one in the community cares and therefore no one will care if
more windows are broken. This theory is then applied to crime and argues that in an area where the
unchecked panhandler is, in effect, the first broken window (Kelling and Wilson 107). The authors
advocate a return to order maintenance in problem neighborhoods where foot patrol officers regulate
the residents of that area by controlling the disorderly people. Wilson and Kelling describe disorderly
people as individuals who are not violent people, nor, necessarily, criminals, but disreputable or
obstreperous or unpredictable people: panhandlers, drunks, addicts, rowdy teenagers, prostitutes,
loiterers, [and] the mentally disturbed (104). In the article, Wilson and Kelling, discussed a study
regarding foot patrol policing in Newark, New Jersey. The study found that although the officers on
foot patrol did not lower crime in Newark s neighborhoods, the residents felt safer by seeing the
officers on their patrols. The authors argued that this perception of safety is result of the officers
maintaining a surface order in their assigned patrols. In addition, there was a visible law enforcement
presence that caused residents to be more likely to enforce the neighborhood s rules on their

The Mythical Man Month By Frederick P. Brooks Jr. Essay
Introduction This paper will be used to present one of the project problems mentioned in the text of
the book The Mythical Man Month by Frederick P. Brooks Jr. In addition, I will present my answers to
the questions about the intangibility of the software and the increasing cost connected with higher
reliability requirements. The last part presents my views which dependability attributes could be most
crucial in four real life systems. Body Question 1: Using The Mythical Man Month reading found on
the course homepage, read the project problems mentioned in the text. List the difficulties and errors
that occurred in these failed programming projects. One of the project problems mentioned by Brooks
Jr. in Chapter 12 of his book The Mythical Man Month is the problem with program maintenance.
According to him fixing a bug has around 20 to 50% chances of introducing another one. As
explanation he shows two reasons: first one is that in most of the projects the structure of
documentation in not clear, precise and does not describe all dependencies that exist in the system and
second is that the programmer who is repairing the system is typically not the same as the one who
composed the code at development (Brooks Jr., 1995). So in order one project not to fail there should
be more system testing per statement written then in the other cases. Brooks suggest that after fixing
each bug an entire bank of previous test cases should be run against the system (Brooks Jr., 1995). But

Analysis Of The Article Of Rutabagas And Redeemers ...
In the years following the civil war, the Democratic Party within Texas was divided in many ways by
a variety of issues. Though united against Republicans and their liberal Reconstruction policies, Texas
Democrats in this period came from a variety of backgrounds and had unique motivations driving their
political sentiments. In the article Of Rutabagas and Redeemers: Rethinking the Texas Constitution of
1876, Patrick Williams argues against the pervasive characterization of the key factions in the
Democratic Party during the constitutional convention consisting of agrarian versus business minded
or new South interests. Williams contends that although convention contemporaries including noted
Rutabaga (a semi derogatory term for a delegate in league with the Grange) John Johnson came to
believe that the constitution of 1876 represented the triumph of farmers and their allies against
corporate driven progressive Democrats and their policies, the political reality was much more
complicated. To begin his assessment of the factional politics surrounding the constitution of 1876 and
the Redeemer convention that fashioned it, Williams points out that several historians who have
discussed post Civil war southern politics including Michael Perman, J. Morgan Kousser, and Seth
McKay do indeed ascribe to the paradigm of the rise of the agrarian rutabaga over the new South
cosmopolitan businessman. He attributes this perpetuation of the agrarian myth to contemporary

Part II Analysis
Part I Part II and Part III are both addressed to specific audiences. Part II is address to people (friends)
that are my age. However, part II is address to my parents. The main purpose of part II is to tell my

with my friends. The main purpose of part III is to try to convince my parents to allow me to get back
home after 11pm. The audience and purpose of part II will affect the content, tone and diction because
I will not include any complicated information; my tone will be simple so that my friends can
understand the situation I am in; and my word choices may include slangs since I will be writing to
my friends. However, for part II, I will not use any complicated information, but I will try to be as
convincing as possible. The tone that I will use will be impartial but strong in order to reach my

Personal Reflection In Social Work
As a new tutor, I definitely feel the sense of the community within the writing center that was
described to me during the interview and the first couple of meetings. Everyone is so welcoming and
excited to work together, and it is an awesome environment to have become a part of. After going to
more and more of this class, I am certainly beginning to find my place here and am excited to really
find my niche. I look forward to hanging out with the other tutors at staff meetings and during breaks
since I would like to get to know everyone more. I cannot wait to begin tutoring and working with this
team.
To me, the most valuable part of this course was the practice element of it. I felt I learned quite a bit
from reviewing former clients papers and figuring out what would be the best strategy in working with
them. By dissecting them individually, in pairs, or as a class, it became easier to pick up on common
mistakes and writing issues. In addition, when we reviewed the piece on the abusive mother, it made
me realize just what types of papers I may come across as a tutor. Since I am a social work major, I am
used to frequently seeing these types of stories in my classes, but never really thought about how I
would see them here, as well.
However, for next year, I think more time should be spent on the practice portion versus theory. While
some of the readings were interesting, I did not feel they were necessarily valuable in preparing me for
my future tutoring. I found some of them to be rather confusing and unrelated, making it difficult to
apply them to tutoring. In addition, since I am a social work major, a lot of the information on cultural
competency and connecting with others despite our differences was a review for me, but I am aware
that not all tutors in training have this background.
Instead, I would suggest doing more exercises in examining student s papers and strategies in actual
tutoring. I am not an education major, so other than the small amount of time I have spend doing
private tutoring, I am not so used to instructing others. Therefore, I definitely would have benefited
more from doing actual exercises during class time and perhaps doing more readings that give
suggestions on best

William Shakespeare s The Tempest
William Shakespare s The Tempest introduces a dynamic and colorful protagonist, Prospero.
Throughout the play, he establishes himself as a multi dimensional character. Prospero s interaction
with other characters in the play is vital in uncovering the many different sides of his personality.
Prospero displays a different part of his personality when he interacts with Caliban, Ariel, and
Ferdinand, all of whom are ploys in his master plan to regain his crown. Prospero assimilates his
personality to reflect those who he is interacting with in order to manipulate them into helping him
fulfill his own agenda of reclaiming Milan from his brother. Prospero s authoritative nature can be

Prospero s interaction with Caliban may at first be seen as cruel and inhumane. Neverthless, Prospero
does not denounce Caliban without reason and even teaches Caliban a helpful skill, the skill of
language. Prospero s relationship with Caliban shows the readers the cruel side of Prospero while
simultaneously depicting his reasonable side. This interaction is similar to the interaction between
colonists and the New World natives. Colonists would arrive on new and unknown lands and befriend
the natives to gain knowledge about the new terrain. But, once the colonists had no use of the
indigenous people, they were enslaved and used to the advantage of the mother country. Another
character that Prospero has an authoritative relationship with is the spirit of Ariel. Nevertheless,
Prospero s relationship with Ariel is less brutal than his relationship with Caliban. Prospero also
commands Ariel to do things for him that will make it easier for him to regain his crown, however,
Prospero gives Ariel an incentive for complying with his rules. Throughout the play, Prospero
promises Ariel that after he gets his dukedom back, Ariel will be set free to do as he pleases on the
island. While Prospero does abide by his promise in the end, he strings Ariel along for a long time
before actually following through with his word. Prospero keeps adding another task

The Importance of Documenting Patient Status and Care
Documentation of patient status and care is important for a variety of reasons. First, it allows health
care professionals to plan and evaluate treatment. Health care records are also used as a
communication tool by multidisciplinary teams. Documentation is also used as evidence in legal
matters, and for reimbursements. Health care agenizes also use electronic health record data to study
and improve future care. Because there are so many things that health records are used for there are
important things you should be sure to include. When documenting the most crucial parts is
documenting interventions and the patients reactions to chosen interventions. If there are any
significant events or changes in the patient or the plan it must be documented. Always be sure to
document if and when informed consent for procedures and actions is needed. If the patient refuses
treatment or leaves against medical advice be sure to document. Medications are always documented
along with any occurrences such as medication errors or falls. Most importantly always include the
date and time on all of the notes. With all this information that should be included in documentation it
is helpful to sort it into subjective and objective data. Objective data is going to be something that is
gathered through physical assessment or from lab and diagnostic tests. Most objective data can be
measured such as vital signs. Subjective data is information given to the nurse by the patient or a

Capitalism and the Natural Environment Essay
Concept of capitalism can be difficult to understand. It is commonly identified by economist and
political philosophers as a system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated
in the free market in exchange for a profit (Galbraith, 1952). The economical/social system determines
the structure of production, the allocation of inputs and outputs, and consumption of goods. Capitalism
remains popular in America because it values freedom, much like the people in our country. This is
true because it allows individuals to set their own plans and pursue their own goals; in addition, one
can decide what career they would enjoy most, thus creating an incentive and reward for achieving
ones ambitions. In a free market, everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Capitalism leads to the creation of unprecedented wealth, advanced technology, and wide prosperity.
Yet capitalism is denounced as a system of greed, materialism, and ruthless dog eat dog competition
One positive implication capitalism has to the natural environment is industrial ecology, a system of
chain production and consumption, serving to the lowest environmental impacts in a most
environmentally sustainable economy as the main goal of operation (Richards Pearson, 1998). The
Companies in a like to operate in such way because of four major reasons. The most important factor
is known as the corporate well being, for it is determined by higher profits and growth provided by
innovations in an industry. Profits are increased from recognizing the production ineffiency costs that
comes from wasted inputs and energy losses; this allowing cost savings to increase and ineffiency to
decrease. compliance with cleaner technology alternatives such as ones that produce less waste and
less energy will provide long term savings which are both beneficial to the environment and the
business at hand. A real world example freight company changes their salvaged driving equipment to
hybrid vehicles. Money is temporarily lost, but the gasoline and maintenances cost savings will
compensate in a long run period of time.
Industrial ecological systems are also used because of the consumer demand.

The Psychological Needs Of A Social Network Service
With a rapidly growing number of active users, Facebook is beginning to serve a huge social purpose
for most young people. The use of online social network service, such as Facebook, provides people
with the ability to remain socially connected with a large network of friends. Besides satisfying its
users need to stay connected with their social groups, Facebook has also been shown to satisfy users
psychological needs. However, recent research also links Facebook to the less desirable outcomes,
particularly social isolation and interpersonal neglect. Interpersonal neglect on Facebook, such as
friend rejection and being ignored by other users, has been shown to negatively affect the four basic
human psychological needs. These four psychological needs include one s need to maintain high self
esteem, one s need to have personal control over social relationship, one s need to be recognized by
others, and one s need to have a sense of belonging. This article examined the impact of interpersonal
neglect, such as in the case of receiving few responses from Facebook friends, on these four basic
psychological needs. The two studies conducted in this article were based on the main hypothesis that
interpersonal neglect on Facebook would have a negative impact on users psychological needs. For
the first study, the authors designed the experiment based on past research, which demonstrated that
the quality of social relationship was a better predictor of a person s experience of

Social Media Impact On Gender Equality
Have you ever thought about all of the injustices in the world and said, what can I do to help change
them? Three extraordinary people, Emma Watson, Mother Jones, and Mahatma Gandhi not only
thought these things but went out and took action to stop them. Emma Watson uses her social media
influence to enact change in gender equality. Mother Jones used peaceful protests, such as marching to
inform more individuals on the dark secrets of child labor. And Mahatma Gandhi developed
Satyagraha, the use of non violent civil disobedience to defend racial rights. These three individuals
fought for various human rights in similar peaceful ways while striving to make an impact in the
world around them.
Emma Watson was appointed UN female ambassador and has been giving speeches and using her
platform in the media to fight for an end to gender inequality since 2014. She says, I started
questioning gender based assumptions when at eight I was confused at being called bossy, because I
wanted to direct the plays we would put on for our parents but the boys were not . Along with many
other occasions throughout her childhood Emma did not understand why she had to act a certain way
just because she was born with a pink blanket and not a blue one. Emma Watson along with many
other women have been faced with this inequality all of their lives, and Emma states she s one of the
lucky ones. My life is a sheer privilege because my parents didn t love me less because I was born a

Literature Review On Quality Of Life
Perhaps the most astounding findings across this literature review were how music improved the
quality of life for almost all patients studied. Sole, Mercadal Brotons, Galati, and De Castro (2014)
specifically focused their study on using music therapy to improve quality of life. During twelve
weekly music therapy sessions, sixteen participants with differing levels of dementia were followed.
The patient s diagnoses included Alzheimer s Disease, Vascular dementia, Parkinson s disease, and
cognitive deterioration with possible dementia. The Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) was used to
score the participants, and nine were found to have mild dementia, five moderate, and two with severe
levels of dementia. All participants had lived in a nursing home for an average of three years. Most
participants had little to no hearing impairment, had a primary level of education, and a high quality of
emotional support.
Sole et al. also scored each participant using the Ceneralitat de Catalunya (GENCAT) Quality of Life
scale. This quality of life scale focused on eight areas that are significant in determining quality of life.
Emotional well being (security, contentment), interpersonal relationships, material well being (having
money, a home, or a job), personal development (self fulfillment, and acquiring new skills), physical
well being, self determination (autonomy), social inclusion (feeling like a contributing member of
society, and feeling supported by others), and rights (equal

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is a Poem Written by...
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is a poem written by T. S. Eliot in 1911. Prufrock is a fictional
character with the poets intended audience being fictional as well. In this poem, Eliot uses multiple
forms and meters in this monologue, rhyming couplets that have a song like quality while other lines
are more like a free verse with no regular meter. Along with blank verse, the poet uses iambic meter
which is also used by one of Eliot s favorite authors, Shakespeare. This poem dramatizes the conflicts
of a middle aged man that is wandering the city, alone and overcautious. He is full of questions,
insecurities and the inability to follow through with his plans. In the form of a dramatic monologue,
this modernistic poem is a journey into the mind of a man who may or may not be in love. J. Alfred
Prufrock is a confused lonely soul that has many unanswered questions and lacks the ability to
communicate with anyone but himself. The poet begins this 132 line monologue with an excerpt from
Dante s Inferno. This is a reference to a character named Guido da Montefeltro in which his soul has
been damned to an eternity in hell. This is a reference to Prufrock who also believes that what he is
contemplating feels like hell on earth. Beginning in stanza 1, Prufrock invites you to join him on a
journey. Let us go then, you and I/When the evening is spread out against the sky. (line 1, 2) Prufrock
also suggests that he might not be comfortable on this walk, Like a

Hexaaqua Copper Lab Report

Reflection Of The Last Supper
The Last Supper The Last Supper was painted by da Vinci between 1495 and 1498. It is 15 feet wide
by 29 feet long and it is not in a museum, it is in a church. This painting depicts the last supper that
was celebrated by Jesus and his disciples, as told in the Gospel of John, and the reactions given by
each disciple when Jesus reveals to them that one of them would betray him. Starting from the left and
moving to right the each individual figure is as follows:
Furthest to the left is Bartholomew. Next to him is James, son of Alphaeus, and Andrew. These three
men appear to be surprised. Next to Andrew is Judas Iscariot, Peter and John who formed the next
group of three. Judas is holding a small bag in his right hand which could mean two things; either as a
symbol of silver that was given to him as a payment for betraying Jesus, or could be a reference of
him as the treasurer of the twelve disciples. Peter, who is next to Judas, looks angry and he is holding
a knife and this could in a reference where Jesus was arrested and he cut off one of the guard s ears,

Dinh Le And The Vietnam War
Many contemporary American artists address an extensive variety of themes significant to their
adopted country while some focus on issues relevant to their country of origin like the subject of war .
War has been considered as a major theme, and it s reality is a great inspiration in writing and has
created endless creativity for artists. In particular, the Vietnamese American artist Dinh Q. Lê often
chooses the subject of the Vietnam war to express his thoughts, concerns, and the message of peace in
his artworks. Dinh Le and his family had lived through the Vietnam war (1975) and then he
immigrated to Los Angeles at age 10 in order to avoid the fight between Vietnamese troops and
Cambodian Khmer Rouge, and then started pursuing art in the U.S. Although he was far away from
his country, his art seemed like he could not escape from Vietnam s long lasting conflict. Therefore, he
decided to study photography, then got a Master s degree at the School of Visual Arts(New York), but
he still sometimes had a feeling of living in exile in a sense of ambiguousness. He calmed himself
down by participating in some meetings with American veterans; however, he was not satisfied with
the single voice from one side which was based on their memories from the Vietnam war, and not
hearing any voices from the Vietnam side of the conflict. As a result, he decided to research the history
of the war to get a deeper understanding of his country s struggles. And the Vietnam( American) war

particular style. This song falls under the more stereotypical, party themed EDM song, but is still a
great track nonetheless. The fun and playful lyrics of this song include I want you to know that it s our
time / You and me bleed the same light / I want you to know that I m all yours / You and me are the
same force. Number Five: Cool by Alesso feat. Roy English Out of all of the songs that I discovered at
Coachella, this is definitely my favorite. One of the reasons that this song is so incredible is because it
contains so many different electronic melodies that greatly surprise the listener upon first hearing the
track. In addition, this record is an excellent EDM song because the tempo varies greatly throughout,
yet the listener is always engaged. Roy English sings lyrics such as Before you, love, I was lost /
Drifting at sea / You were the beacon I followed home / You were the one who rescued me that add a
romantic aspect to the song as well. Number Four: Where Are Ü Now by Skrillex Diplo feat. Justin

Essay On Cavalry In World War One
When focusing on cavalry, infantry, and artillery in the Franco Prussian war and World War One as
three aspects to compare, the following information came out. I have put each aspects in one
paragraph each. For each paragraph, Franco Prussian War comes first and then World War One
follows. For cavalry in Franco Prussian war, the style of cavalry were reorganized: six regiments
assigned to a Prussian army corps, only two were left in reserve for heavy service; four were
permanently assigned to the infantry for light tasks . This was a great change made in Franco Prussian
War, thought by Colmar von der Goltz. For cavalry in World War One, there was a connection with
the results of Franco Prussian War. Since previous war, the ineffectiveness of cavalry was spoken, and
those ineffectiveness was unable to follow foot soldiers into underground shelters . Cavalry soldiers
are soldiers who are riding on the horse to fight, so it is proved that horse cannot go underground.
Also, horses are big so that it can be the good target for the opponent soldiers to shoot. Therefore, the

These weapons are used to attack enemies who is in the far place. These guns are used instead of bow,
and due to the technological development. Also, the Prussian infantry used the tactic of skirmisher, in
order to function as a screen. Behind those skirmishers, main force were moving forward by forming a
line. Since the weapons which they used in common were guns, but not machine guns, they could
fight with face to face. For infantry in World War One, due to the invention of machine guns, infantry
soldiers were not able to have find in the storm of bullets. They used the trench warfare as a style of
fighting. The trench warfare is to dig the trench on the ground, and soldiers were forced to stay there
so that they can shoot opponent soldiers without being

  • 2. The Elizabethan Er The New Form Of Entertainment In England, all the way back to the year 1567, a man by the name of John Brayne built the first theater that would soon become one of Englands favorite forms of entertainment. Elizabethan Theaters were used to perform plays, poems, and a few other things to the people of England. In total, there were eight theaters that were scattered all throughout England. The Elizabethan era lived a good long life, and was very successful in entertaining the people during it s time. However, all good things must come to an end, and eventually, that is what happened to the theaters. The introduction of Elizabethan Theaters changed the country of England by giving the people a new form of entertainment, and to showcase what playwrights and poets were capable of during the time the era lasted. In the early days of England, the people had many forms of entertainment. Some examples include, checkers and chess, pubs, pit fighting, and much more. In the year 1567, England was introduced to a whole new form of entertainment. During this year, a man named John Brayne started to build the first Elizabethan Theater. John Brayne built The Red Lion , and it was located in Whitechapel, London. The Red Lion, was more of just a, not too serious, playhouse meant to entertain a few people here and there. Though it was meant to entertain only a few, the theater was a big hit with the people, and soon, other theaters started popping up, thanks to the first of it s kind, the Red Lion theater. Ten ... • 6. Summary Of Brutal Imagination By Cornelius Eadya Cornelius Eady is a Black American writer who focuses and writes widely on the topics of race and society. His poetry is usually centered on jazz and blues, violence, home life, family life and societal problems arising from questions of race and socioeconomics. Eady has written over twelve books but the most popular include Brutal Imagination, Hardheaded Weather, Don t Miss Your Water, The Gathering of My Name, and The Autobiography of a Jukebox. From this list, I chose to explore the content of Brutal Imagination, The Gathering of My Name and Hardheaded Weather. Brutal Imagination is based on a true story about a mom named Susan Smith from Union. South Carolina. On October 25th, 1994, Smith told police she d been carjacked by a Black man, who forced her out of her car and drove away with her two young sons still in the back of the vehicle (Susan Smith Biography.com. 2014). She then blamed the death of her sons on this man but later she confessed and was convicted of the murder of the boys and was sentenced to life in prison. This book is made up of two cycles of poems, each confronting the same subject: the characterization of a black man in white America. In this book, I plan to focus mainly on the first cycle and touch briefly on the second. The first cycle includes four different sections. In section one of cycle one, Eady writes about Susan Smith and Charles Stuart, two murderers who blamed their crimes on nonexistent black attackers. The first poem is called How I Got Born (Eady 5), in this poem the fictional young African American man is conjured up. In the upper right hand corner of the page, Eady writes a note that explains who and what the speaker is: The speaker is the young black man Susan Smith claimed kidnapped her children (Eady 5). In the first few lines of the poem he says, Susan Smith willed me alive/ At the moment/ Her babies sank into the lake (l. 1 40). So right away he gives us a pretty straightforward explanation for what this poem is about and what this section will be about. In the next few poems, the narrator discusses his existence and reason for being created. Eady uses a lot of metaphors, similes and imagery in his poems, and he does a phenomenal job with imagery. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How to Improve Airline Safety and Pilot Training Essay On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection Flight 3407 crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty people aboard.. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that followed stunned the American public and identified the need to closely examine the regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest requirements, with a strong focus on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111 216 (Public Law 111 126, 2010, 3). This would not normally be a big deal, but he failed his checkrides because he was not satisfactory in icing procedures...one of the major causes of the accident according to the NTSB. Implementation of NTSB Flight Crewmember Training Recommendations The National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent United States government investigative agency responsible for civil transportation accident investigation. The NTSB investigates all aviation accidents and incidents. On an annual basis, this bill requires that the FAA accepts all NTSB flight crewmember training recommendations that come up over the past year (Hughes, 2010). For example, the NTSB has requested that the FAA include flight in icing conditions into all flight training curriculums. FAA Rulemaking on Training Programs Prior to this bill, the FAA had no say in what airlines included in their training programs as long as the program included certain subjects. No later than fourteen months after the date the bill is signed into law, the FAA will issue a final rule on all training programs (House Transportation Subcommittee, 2010). On the other hand, Ionin, Zubbizarreta, and Maldonado, study adopts a theoretical framework that primarily focuses on the aspects of linguistic knowledge, namely the L2 input, L1 transfer and the inherent linguistic knowledge (Universal Grammar) that influence the acquisition of English articles by second language learners. Each of the studies also examine research questions related to their domains. The first one explores the relationship between the application of Usage Based linguistics and issues in second language acquisition, as well as how type and token frequencies used by learners can reflect schematicity of learner language representation ... • 10. Reluctant Fundamentalist US immigration is a major component of The Reluctant Fundamentalist, and contributes greatly to the plot as well. Hamid s use of US immigration affects the plot of the story as it connects to the theme of identity, through the use of ashamed tone as well as precise diction. First of all, the use of ashamed tone demonstrates how US immigration is associated with the theme of identity. For example, as Changez rides in a limousine with his colleagues, he spots a Filipino driver: There was an undisguised hostility in his expression; I had no idea why ... But his dislike was so obvious, so intimate, that it got under my skin. I stared back at him, getting angry at myself. (67). The words hostility and dislike emphasize the negative perception ... For instance, as Changez arrives at Manila with Underwood Samson, he states: Perhaps it was for this reason that I did something in Manila I had never done before: I attempted to act and speak, as much as my dignity would permit, more like an American. Even though Changez is a US immigrant, it is suggested that he still acted in a Pakistani behavior, as he states how he had never specifically acted in the stereotypical American way. Additionally, the fact that Changez attempts to act like an American demonstrates how his identity isn t just American, but also Pakistani as well. This defines the theme of identity, as Changez feels troubled and confused about where he really is from, and where his loyalties lie. Furthermore, Changez states how at Manila, he learned to answer, when asked where [he] was from, that [he] was from New York. (65). Changez stating how he was specifically from New York shows how he identifies the place as home, similar to his real home in Pakistan. It is shown through previous chapters that New York contains many parts of Pakistani culture, explaining why Changez relates to New York in such a cheerful and excited tone. Even so, while many relate the US and New York as identical, Changez separates the two places, stating how America represents the egotistical, condescending behavior that it expresses on others. • 11. Internal Conflict In Anthem By Ayn Rand There has always been a slight apprehension towards being alone or standing alone. Students rarely want to admit to having an answer different from the rest of their classmates; some people do not want to go somewhere and do something by themselves. Notably, with more shy or anxious people, they will often stick around someone they know, so they will not be alone in the crowd. Although that company might help them make it through those nerve wracking moments, when is the right time for them to walk alone? Should a person ever walk alone? In Ayn Rand s Anthem, Equality s internal conflict of conformity versus individuality plays a role that Equality needs to overcome in order to complete their quest for freedom which helps create their outcast archetype and gives significance to the final word of the novel. The internal conflict in Anthem plays a role within the novel by providing the complication that the protagonist, Equality, has to overcome in order to complete their quest. Equality is on a quest for freedom and for knowledge, even though it will separate them from their brothers. From the beginning of the novel until the third chapter, Equality notes how they commit transgressions against their society, such as preference, and how they are different from their brothers, an example being Equality s height of 6 feet tall. In the third chapter, Equality more or less accepts their fate of being alone, even though the internal conflict still silently lurks in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Neural Computational And Neural Computation Attempting to understand the mind and its processes can be a challenging concept to try and grasp. Over the years there have been many different interpretations of how we understand the world around us through information and processing in the mind and brain. Argumentatively, there are a few approaches to neural computational and neural information processing to the mind and brain, such as through biophysical and algorithmic neural computation. While, the transition from biophysical neural computational processing to algorithmic neural computational processing have different processes they are both an important aspect in understanding the process from information gathered from the world to neural computation in the mind and brain. The biophysical aspect of neural computation is a complicated piece that is still being researched and uncovered today. However, at a rudimentary level information processing is where biophysical neural computation begins. Information processing is a type of processing that occurs within the brain so that natural information, or causal correlation, can be processed into neural summation, which eventually leads to neural computation. When we perceive something in the world we make biophysical connections within our brain so that we can comprehend what we see or hear in the world. During this biophysical neural computation, information processing goes through the process of neural summation, which is a method of signal transduction. During this ... In the article, Wilson and Kelling, discussed a study regarding foot patrol policing in Newark, New Jersey. The study found that although the officers on foot patrol did not lower crime in Newark s neighborhoods, the residents felt safer by seeing the officers on their patrols. One of the project problems mentioned by Brooks Jr. in Chapter 12 of his book The Mythical Man Month is the problem with program maintenance. As explanation he shows two reasons: first one is that in most of the projects the structure of documentation in not clear, precise and does not describe all dependencies that exist in the system and second is that the programmer who is repairing the system is typically not the same as the one who composed the code at development (Brooks Jr., 1995). So in order one project not to fail there should be more system testing per statement written then in the other cases. Brooks suggest that after fixing each bug an entire bank of previous test cases should be run against the system (Brooks Jr., 1995). But ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Though united against Republicans and their liberal Reconstruction policies, Texas Democrats in this period came from a variety of backgrounds and had unique motivations driving their political sentiments. In the article Of Rutabagas and Redeemers: Rethinking the Texas Constitution of 1876, Patrick Williams argues against the pervasive characterization of the key factions in the Democratic Party during the constitutional convention consisting of agrarian versus business minded or new South interests. Williams contends that although convention contemporaries including noted Rutabaga (a semi derogatory term for a delegate in league with the Grange) John Johnson came to believe that the constitution of 1876 represented the triumph of farmers and their allies against corporate driven progressive Democrats and their policies, the political reality was much more complicated. To begin his assessment of the factional politics surrounding the constitution of 1876 and the Redeemer convention that fashioned it, Williams points out that several historians who have discussed post Civil war southern politics including Michael Perman, J. After going to more and more of this class, I am certainly beginning to find my place here and am excited to really find my niche. I look forward to hanging out with the other tutors at staff meetings and during breaks since I would like to get to know everyone more. I cannot wait to begin tutoring and working with this team. Since I am a social work major, I am used to frequently seeing these types of stories in my classes, but never really thought about how I would see them here, as well. However, for next year, I think more time should be spent on the practice portion versus theory. While some of the readings were interesting, I did not feel they were necessarily valuable in preparing me for my future tutoring. I found some of them to be rather confusing and unrelated, making it difficult to apply them to tutoring. In addition, since I am a social work major, a lot of the information on cultural competency and connecting with others despite our differences was a review for me, but I am aware that not all tutors in training have this background. Instead, I would suggest doing more exercises in examining student s papers and strategies in actual tutoring. • 33. Capitalism and the Natural Environment Essay Concept of capitalism can be difficult to understand. It is commonly identified by economist and political philosophers as a system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated in the free market in exchange for a profit (Galbraith, 1952). The economical/social system determines the structure of production, the allocation of inputs and outputs, and consumption of goods. Capitalism remains popular in America because it values freedom, much like the people in our country. This is true because it allows individuals to set their own plans and pursue their own goals; in addition, one can decide what career they would enjoy most, thus creating an incentive and reward for achieving ones ambitions. The most important factor is known as the corporate well being, for it is determined by higher profits and growth provided by innovations in an industry. Profits are increased from recognizing the production ineffiency costs that comes from wasted inputs and energy losses; this allowing cost savings to increase and ineffiency to decrease. compliance with cleaner technology alternatives such as ones that produce less waste and less energy will provide long term savings which are both beneficial to the environment and the business at hand. The use of online social network service, such as Facebook, provides people with the ability to remain socially connected with a large network of friends. Besides satisfying its users need to stay connected with their social groups, Facebook has also been shown to satisfy users psychological needs. However, recent research also links Facebook to the less desirable outcomes, particularly social isolation and interpersonal neglect. Interpersonal neglect on Facebook, such as friend rejection and being ignored by other users, has been shown to negatively affect the four basic human psychological needs. These four psychological needs include one s need to maintain high self esteem, one s need to have personal control over social relationship, one s need to be recognized by others, and one s need to have a sense of belonging. • 36. Literature Review On Quality Of Life Perhaps the most astounding findings across this literature review were how music improved the quality of life for almost all patients studied. Sole, Mercadal Brotons, Galati, and De Castro (2014) specifically focused their study on using music therapy to improve quality of life. During twelve weekly music therapy sessions, sixteen participants with differing levels of dementia were followed. The patient s diagnoses included Alzheimer s Disease, Vascular dementia, Parkinson s disease, and cognitive deterioration with possible dementia. The Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) was used to score the participants, and nine were found to have mild dementia, five moderate, and two with severe levels of dementia. All participants had lived in a nursing home for an average of three years. Most participants had little to no hearing impairment, had a primary level of education, and a high quality of emotional support. Sole et al. also scored each participant using the Ceneralitat de Catalunya (GENCAT) Quality of Life scale. This quality of life scale focused on eight areas that are significant in determining quality of life. Emotional well being (security, contentment), interpersonal relationships, material well being (having money, a home, or a job), personal development (self fulfillment, and acquiring new skills), physical well being, self determination (autonomy), social inclusion (feeling like a contributing member of society, and feeling supported by others), and rights (equal ... • 37. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is a Poem Written by... The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is a poem written by T. S. Eliot in 1911. Prufrock is a fictional character with the poets intended audience being fictional as well. In this poem, Eliot uses multiple forms and meters in this monologue, rhyming couplets that have a song like quality while other lines are more like a free verse with no regular meter. Along with blank verse, the poet uses iambic meter which is also used by one of Eliot s favorite authors, Shakespeare. This poem dramatizes the conflicts of a middle aged man that is wandering the city, alone and overcautious. He is full of questions, insecurities and the inability to follow through with his plans. In the form of a dramatic monologue, this modernistic poem is a journey into the mind of a man who may or may not be in love. J. Alfred Prufrock is a confused lonely soul that has many unanswered questions and lacks the ability to communicate with anyone but himself. The poet begins this 132 line monologue with an excerpt from Dante s Inferno. This is a reference to a character named Guido da Montefeltro in which his soul has been damned to an eternity in hell. This is a reference to Prufrock who also believes that what he is contemplating feels like hell on earth. Beginning in stanza 1, Prufrock invites you to join him on a journey. Let us go then, you and I/When the evening is spread out against the sky. (line 1, 2) Prufrock also suggests that he might not be comfortable on this walk, Like a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Hexaaqua Copper Lab Report Experimental Objectives: Copper belongs to group 11 and is also known to be the least reactive of the first row metals. It is the only d block metal in the first row that has a stable 1+ oxidation state however in comparison to its +2 state, the former is seen as unstable. Cu(0) is rarely stable (2) and hence this is why it is not abundant in nature, and instead is generally extracted from ores via leaching or roasting methods. It is the +2 oxidation state that seems to dominate the majority of aqueous copper chemistry with the characteristic blue colour of most copper solutions being an indicator for the presence of the hexaaqua copper (II) ion (1).The aim of this experiment was to perform reactions to demonstrate the reactivity of copper ... Sodium nitrate however is soluble in water and thus stayed dissolved in the solution (4). The insoluble blue precipitate observed in the reaction is supported by this explanation. The fact that the blue litmus paper did not turn red upon addition of the reaction mixture showed that acid was no longer present within the solution and hence the reaction was ... This painting depicts the last supper that was celebrated by Jesus and his disciples, as told in the Gospel of John, and the reactions given by each disciple when Jesus reveals to them that one of them would betray him. Starting from the left and moving to right the each individual figure is as follows: Furthest to the left is Bartholomew. Next to him is James, son of Alphaeus, and Andrew. These three men appear to be surprised. Next to Andrew is Judas Iscariot, Peter and John who formed the next group of three. Judas is holding a small bag in his right hand which could mean two things; either as a symbol of silver that was given to him as a payment for betraying Jesus, or could be a reference of him as the treasurer of the twelve disciples. War has been considered as a major theme, and it s reality is a great inspiration in writing and has created endless creativity for artists. In particular, the Vietnamese American artist Dinh Q. Lê often chooses the subject of the Vietnam war to express his thoughts, concerns, and the message of peace in his artworks. Therefore, he decided to study photography, then got a Master s degree at the School of Visual Arts(New York), but he still sometimes had a feeling of living in exile in a sense of ambiguousness. He calmed himself down by participating in some meetings with American veterans; however, he was not satisfied with the single voice from one side which was based on their memories from the Vietnam war, and not hearing any voices from the Vietnam side of the conflict. As a result, he decided to research the history of the war to get a deeper understanding of his country s struggles. And the Vietnam( American) war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fun and playful lyrics of this song include I want you to know that it s our time / You and me bleed the same light / I want you to know that I m all yours / You and me are the same force. Number Five: Cool by Alesso feat. Roy English Out of all of the songs that I discovered at Coachella, this is definitely my favorite. Essay On Cavalry In World War One When focusing on cavalry, infantry, and artillery in the Franco Prussian war and World War One as three aspects to compare, the following information came out.
